The Forgotten Promise Part Five

A Link In Time,

Skull kid slowly opened his eyes as he woke up. His body felt heavy as an arm was wrapped around him, realizing that it was Talea sleeping beside him. He tensed up as Talea pulled him closer to her, feeling the back of his head against her chest. He heard her softly snoring as she slept which made him giggle. Skull kid sat up and reached out, shaking Talea by her shoulder, waking her up.

"It's morning! Wake up, sleepy head!" He laughed. Talea groaned as she released him and tossed on her side, curling up into a ball. "Five more minutes." Skull kid tried to shake her awake again. Tatl and Tael tried to wake Talea up by bouncing on her. Nothing. No reaction at all.

"Wow, who knew that she was a heavy sleeper!" Tael replied.

"She needs to wake up!" Tatl shouted. Skull kid eyed the pond as he looked at it then let out a mischievous chuckle. The next thing Talea was getting completely soaking wet as she was tossed into the cold water of the pond. She screamed as she flailed and splashed about as she came up out of the water. She saw Skull Kid laughing above her as he floated in the air along with Tatl and Tael. Then the purple fairy noticed that something was wrong when he saw Talea wasn't splashing around in the pond anymore. She was gone! Tael quickly flew over to the other two who were still laughing and hadn't noticed yet on what was happening. He chimed frantically to get their attention.

"Guys! This is serious! I don't think that she can swim. She's drowning!" Tael cried out. Skull kid and Tatl stopped laughing and looked over at the pond to see small bubbles slowly coming up until they stopped.

"Do something!" Tatl shouted at her brother.

"I can't swim either! My wings will get wet!" Tael shouted. Skull kid floated over to the edge and peered into the pond, worried.

"Talea?" He called out to her. Suddenly, Talea quickly shot out of the water. Skull kid made a startled yell. Talea smirked and she grabbed his shoulders pulling him into the pond with her.

"Gotcha!" She cried out. 

"No fair!" Skull kid shouted and splashed her. Talea splashed him back. "Consider it pay back for tossing me in. But I do have to admit it was fun watching you worry about me. I guess you do care about me after all!"

"I wasn't worried!" Skull kid dismissed. 

"Sure, you weren't." Talea replied, not believing him.

Skull kid got out from the water, heading towards the secret door. Talea watched confused.

"Hey, where you going? If it's about the prank earlier, I'm sorry." 

"I'm not upset!" Skull kid snapped back at her. Talea said nothing staring at him with wide eyes. Skull kid hesitated, realizing what he did. Why does she make him feel this way? Why did he snap at her? Every time he sees her face, she just reminds him of her.

"I told you not to get too close. Forget about her or have you forgotten about our deal? We're friends, aren't we?"

"Of course, we are!" Skull kid insisted.

"Don't you want to see your old friends again? We'll make everyone pay for hurting you and taking them away from you. I am the only friend that you will need!" Skull kid heard the mask speak to him through his mind. 

"Skull kid?" Talea called out to him, noticing that he was quiet.

"Just get out and get yourself dried off. I'm going to go out for a bit." He told her and left, along with the two fairies. 

Later that evening, a small boy wearing a green tunic, white under shirt, brown boots and a long green hat. was riding a horse through the woods. He had a sword and Hylian shield strapped to his back and side. "Aah...I had to use the Ocarina of Time again...I don't much like to use it like that. But what can I do? I'm a kid, and nobody believes me."

 "It will be safer in your hands. And...It will surely come in handy during your journey."

"Princess Zelda." Link muttered to himself as he continued along the path, think about his longtime friend. 

Using the Ocarina of Time, he went seven years through time and fought the Evil King Ganondorf, who was trying to make Hyrule his own, and banished him into the Dark World. Link was able to restore peace to Hyrule, but he was separated from his fairy partner, Navi, who had been with me for the entire journey. "Navi...Where are you now? I want to see you one more time." Faries live in the forest. If he search the forest, he'll surely find her. Link thought to himself.

As he continued further, Link noticed a small glow coming from above in the trees. He looked up and saw that it was a small white fairy. Link's eyes widen as he called out to it. "NAVI!"

But he realized that it wasn't her as when he saw the fairy come closer along with another one that was purple. "Oh, no, it's not. A different fairy, huh?"

The two stopped in front of Link's horse and tapped it, startling it, and Link was thrown off from it. As Link laid on the ground knocked out, Skull kid emerged from behind the trees, making himself visible again. Tatl and Tael flew back over to him.

"He looks like a traveller. I'll bet he's carrying some nice things, Skull kid!" Tatl told him.

"Heh heh heh! You two fairies did well." Skull kid giggled but stopped when he noticed that the strange boy had a familiar scent. Why does he look so familiar? Skull kid thought to himself but shrugged it off. "Huh? This guy...Shouldn't be a problem." Hopefully, he has some items worth stealing! Maybe find something for Talea as well.

Slowly, Skull kid cautiously walked over to the boy until he was at Link's side. He lightly tapped Link with his foot then flipped him over and rummaged through Link's pockets and bag. Skull kid pulled out the blue ocarina, admiring it, curiously as he held it out in front of him. He played a couple notes from it, giggling. The two fairies hovered above him, looking at the instrument, curious as well.

Link groaned as he sat up, holding his head. "Ugh...ow." He noticed the three in front of him, their backs facing him.

"Oh, wow, what a pretty ocarina!" Tael said. "Hey, Skull kid, let me touch it, too!"

"No way! What if you break it, Tael! You can't touch it!" Tatl shouted. 

The two fairies noticed that Link had woken up and warned Skull kid. Skull kid turned around, startled to see Link now awake. He looked down at the ocarina his hand and quickly hid it behind his back.

"Give me that. The ocarina you're hiding behind your back." Link demanded. Skull kid whistled in response, not looking at him.

"What ocarina? I don't know what you're talking about." Skull kid replied.

Link twitched. This little...! 

He lunged at the Skull kid to get it back. Skull kid dodged him and hopped over Link onto his back then jumped onto Link's horse. Skull kid laughed as he took off with the horse. Link's eyes widened as he saw his horse charging towards him. "Stop! Epona! STOP!" He quickly jumped out of the way before he was trampled to death. "Wait, dammit!" He managed to grab onto Skull kid's leg trying to get him to stop. Skull kid continued as he rode, dragging Link along with him.

Further along the path as they rode deeper into the woods, Link lost his grip from the Skull kid. He tumbled on the ground. Skull kid laughed as he looked back at Link, waving him goodbye as he rode the horse into the hollow base entrance of the giant tree, going inside of it. Link got up and quickly chased after him. Link stumbled around in the dark when he lost his footing and fell into a huge bottomless pit that seemed to go on forever. 

Link screamed as his vision went dark.

Had some fun with this one on designs I’ve hc’d but never officially picked up (ie, elf ears for Pan as well as a liking for scarves/bandanas to cover their faces).

Had the idea of the boys in Storybrooke after The Big Bad Plan doesn’t work (in my own version where Peter is like. Actually 16-19 and not secretly an old man... still salty the writers did that but whatever). They still create PLENTY of mischief but they can’t do too much without getting in trouble. Hi everyone, it's Kumi. So Yesterday I posted about the new story I was working on for my return. Anyway, I'm more or less finished my work on the dorm and the first chapter. It will be out this evening at best or in two days (I'm working full time). I more or less planned some of the oc who would appears through the story.
