caution post on ethan/dreamkingdomaine

please read the edit 2 at the bottom

a few weeks ago, in the beginning of february, ethan messaged one of my friends on tumblr to ask if he wanted to make a private discord server to talk. at this time, ethan's tumblr said he was 41 years old, which he then confirmed in a message with my friend. his (my friend's) tumblr bio says that she is an adult, but doesn't dictate his full age.

ethan messaged him on discord, again confirming that he is fourty-one, but stopped messaging & unfriended him when my friend said she was 18 & therefore they shouldn't be talking.

however, ethan then changed the age on his account to 24.

he then messaged me, asking a very similar thing, however whilst he claimed he didn't realise my friend was 18 (and in a later message, that much of the tumblr did community is <25) my age is very obviously stated in my bio (and I am 17 years old, making me a legal minor.)

ethan has not messaged any of my other friends on tumblr, who state that they are adults in their bio, & i don't know the extent to which he has interacted with members on here.

his behaviour therefore is incredibly predatory seeming, particularly the changing of his reported age, & i presume he was operating under the assumption that me and my friend didn't know each other and therefore wouldn't discuss this.

ethan's discord user ID is 339913311573245954. i advise everyone who owns or moderates a server focused on did/trauma that's available to find on tumblr to preban him, especially if there are minors in your community, and block him on tumblr. this is not the behaviour of a responsible & trustworthy adult.

* edit/note: based on the blog history, this person has likely been doing this for YEARS. there are no other accounts with that name easily identifiable online, so this tumblr is likely a burner account. they have a year long post history of disappearing for a matter of months, and then coming back to ask people to DM them or message them on discord, presumably also messaging people in a similar manner to how they are now, originally in the roleplay community but more recently in trauma communities. and a reminder that again they are lying about their age after being told it was an uncomfortable difference by a young person they were attempting to privately speak too. please watch your interactions with this person.

haven't been posting very much on here because everything I want to say is too revealing so here's a reminder to tbmc survivors: don't tell people your cues and triggers. don't tell people about your system structure. don't even tell people your parts' roles unless you really really trust them. doing these things will actively put you in danger. stay safe and drink some water <3

Hierarchies are going to be different from group to group, system to system, even subsystem to subsystem. Some abusers have a favorite organization program, either to make it difficult for others to use it or as a signature.

Hierarchies — by subgroup or within subgroups — allow abusers to delegate control to the system and not watch over them constantly or give every alter the same extensive programs.

In a system programmed by color, metallics might be higher-ups. By material, stronger is better. With shapes, the literal highest point could be the best. It varies by cultural and group associations.

Similarly, what defines an alter as higher in rank than another is subjective. A religious group may idealize religious (theta) alters while a generational group might place the oldest of a sex in the position of power.

In very organized systems, high ranking alters can have a lot of programming to keep them loyal and working as intended. They can have more control over particular system functions (memory, fronting, innerworld) or just lead a chain of other alters.

For the programmed rules used in organization, alters might be told that they aren’t able to leave their area (possibly because of monsters or an inability to move at all). They might have learned their chain of command through learning that of their group, and so have been conditioned not to break or question it.

Some alters are organized by the type of programming they have, like violence (delta) programmed alters living in the forest because they are beastly.

Programmed rules with TBMC are installed by abusing physiological reactions, so often require more intervention to undo.

Back-up programming lies beneath an existing program; an organization program resembling webbing might have a spider to protect the structures.

Some programs have very direct ‘if… then…’ that deter undoing; ‘if Alter B does not x, then Alter C will unleash Alter D to y Alter B’, where x is B’s programmed task and y is D’s held torture. The in-between C just serves to complicate the sequence.

A backup can look like anything, and usually takes the form of a kind of pain inflicted during programming.

I feel like I just made it worse with this answer, but I tried my best.

I hate being called a survivor.

I know it's a big thing in trauma communities, and especially in RAMCOA/OEA spaces, to refer to oneself as a survivor. But I don't feel like a survivor, and while I may have survived physically, mentally I am not the same as I would have been without going through everything I have, whoever I would've been without all this did not survive and I mourn the life I didn't have, the person I didn't become.

I am a victim of the abuse I went through more than I am a survivor.

I saw your intro said you like messages, but if this isn't an okay question I'm really sorry! What does OEA stand for?

Totally okay! Questions are some of our favorite things, with few exceptions. (mostly interrogations about our background and maybe personal shit that makes us uncomfy. Shrug?)

OEA is just another term for RAMCOA basically, since it stands for "Organized & Extreme Abuse". You'll frequently find the ISSTD using it in place of RAMCOA, and I guess it's supposed to be more inclusive compared to it? I don't really know nor do we care. We like both acronyms— thoroughness or something.

Religiously Traumatized people can still practice religion. Even the religion they were abused with.

Religion can be beautiful and it can be horrible, it only matters the person practicing it.

My abusers used their religion to force me into the perfect 'woman', using random verses to justify their abuse. Today, I can see how those verses were used against me, even though they had nothing to do with my situation.

Today, I practice parts of that religion, because I do love it. It isn't the religions fault for hurting me, it is the people.

If it weren't for that specific religion, they would have found another one to use. If not a religion, another belief system. Evil people can twist anything into their own horrid opinions.

In short, if you are religiously traumatised and practice religion, that is amazing, and I am very proud.

How can you tell and prevent children from being subject to RAMCOA? I saw you talk about it in an earlier post. You said playing police sirens helps. Like. How could I tell if a kid is in danger, and how can I help without making it worse?

It’s hard to know if RAMCOA is taking place at the present, but there are indicators of it already took place. There are checklists for sexual abuse, trafficking ritual abuse, and coercion, and I recommend reading up on those for their independent value, which are helpful to use in tandem.

There are a few oddities you could look out for, but most of them still require you pay attention to the wards and caregivers (including listening out for attach-cries).

Religious and community centers that operate past usual hours, whose reasons (if provided) don’t match the big picture. A church hosting a children’s sleepover has no reason to have a lot full of cars, a recreation center hosting a family movie has no reason for screaming sounds, that kind of thing.

Woods are harder, and honestly you’d probably have to walk into something to have any real evidence. Fires in the woods are normal, blood and dead animals in the woods are normal, gatherings in the woods are normal. Gatherings around a fire with bleeding humans, maybe not normal.

I don’t know if playing sirens is legal, but if you play sirens sounds to an empty area, nobody’s gonna know. And if it isn’t empty, you aren’t impersonating an officer if you’re just making noise. Abuser groups aren’t likely to snitch on you, and nonabuser groups aren’t likely to notice (given you’re not at the only possibly occupied area in the vicinity).

Abuser groups who don’t hold a lot of power (read: political influence, firearms) are easy enough to spook, purely because they don’t wanna get caught. Snapping a big stick or knocking on a door might be enough to prevent abuse because they’re too busy packing up and leaving.

If you don’t know the abuser group, however, I’d recommend you don’t go looking for one. Tend to the victims, educate yourself and volunteer at a women’s shelter or a hotline, do something to build support without directly endangering yourself.

Mostly, looking back on everything that was done to us, I just wish people would have noticed and listened when we were in front of them. Do that. There are lots of ways to make a difference, and you are uniquely suited to one of them. Find it, and that would mean the world to us.
