#or its just that I relate to Steven and the only thing is I'm not active like him
Note
It kinda sucks being a monster fucker that isn't oftenly attracted to ones without human ish forms. Like yeah the mass of tentacles and big ol demons with wings and horns are fine but I tend to shy away from things on four legs or feels a little too feral to know what it's consenting to. When I say I'm a monster fucker and show my collection of "human silhouetted but not quite human" crushes, I get called names or that I only like "watered down" monsters, especially when I point to the sans aus or certain gems from Steven universe. Makes me feel like I'm not a "true" monster fucker, even though I like werewolves and aliens and other common monsters loved by monster fuckers 😭
The reality is that I just haven't really found interest in media that has given me non-human silhouetted monsters I'm particularly attracted to, not that I'm not open to them. Its just this weird thing that if it's got the same structure of a person (head, torso, arms and legs) it means your not a hardcore monster fucker, even if the things you wanna fuck are like ... Transformers or molag bal or things that are very clearly monsters.
(lemme know if this isn't qualifyable as a submission. 8k it's not like most of the other submissions and ig I'd count it more as a "vent" but it seems related and Im pretty sure it fits the guidelines.)

My version of Loonatics Unleashed
This is just my interpretation of this universe of "Loonatics Unleashed", don't take it as a summary of the series or as absolute truth to interpret your version. NO! It's just MY view and you have every right to disagree. Furthermore, there will be low-level words (even though I censor some) and there may be sensitive topics for certain people. Besides, this refers to the universe of Loonatics Unleashed, so for those who don't care, you can skip this blog, but for those who are a fan or if this interests you, you can continue reading.
Tumblr media
So... I was researching hashtags for animated series that I like in general, whether it's the ones I've already mentioned like Steven Universe and The Owl House, or series that a lot of people don't know about, which is the case with the series "Loonatics Unleashed", which (giving a really bad summary-) is one of several Looney Tunes reinventions, but here it's about them in a superhero version. Yeah... The 2000s had that- Jokes aside, I really think it's a good series and I like it, even though the series has its flaws and I recognize that. And, interestingly, @drakepad-luv-2000 made a blog talking about her version of Loonatics Unleashed, with her Headcanons and ideas. So I'm making this blog copying his idea - Just kidding... I asked if I could do it with the same theme and she gave me permission. I'm not that dishonest. So, having given that introduction... Let's move on to my version of Loonatics Unleashed! AH- And if you want to share your opinion, leave it in the comments, but if you want to make a blog with the same theme, give credit to me and @drakepad-luv-2000, ok? Excellent! ^^
I'm going to end up dividing this blog into topics, the first will just be to reformulate the backstory and the second part will talk more about the characters themselves. I won't be able to talk about all the topics, in fact, these three are JUST to start talking about Loonatics Unleashed, there are also the conflicts and evolutions of the characters, their relationships, the villains themselves and even my OCs from this universe (you They thought I wouldn't put my character in, right? Obviously I would...-w-). So, if you feel like it, I can do a part two. But let's get down to business.
Series Plot (Reinvented)
Tumblr media
Speaking of the series' plot, Drakepad, when talking about Headcanons, said that she wanted to change the plot a little to the year 2017 because it was more relatable for us, because the series, even though it takes place in the future, for some reason had the technologies of the years 2000 which are currently old... And, honestly, I agree with her point... But I still wanted to get this more futuristic theme for the series, as that's what gives the series a certain charm. So I'm going to mix some ideas... The series will take place in a year that is not exactly specified, but it will be both close to the years 2017 to 2024 (which is the current year that the blog is being published) and also having elements of Cyberpunk with Advanced Technology from science fiction films, also taking some things from hero stories.
The meteor part... It will be discarded because, honestly... How the HELL did the meteor only affect Acmetropolis, but not the whole world?! If it's something like the dinosaur meteor, there would be people with powers ALL OVER THE WORLD. Ok, I think I'm demanding too much logic for a children's series, but still... They could have elaborated more. Back... So, if the meteor was discarded... What caused the characters' powers? And here I get the idea of a classic Anime... Akira!
Tumblr media
If you don't know the plot of the exquisite film, it's basically a Japan (or just Tokyo, I don't remember-) in the Cyberpunk future caused after a nuclear explosion (or not, that's a story spoiler-) that made the city become a technological place, however, underneath all the neon and wealth, the poor part of the city ends up suffering a lot from marginality and crime, mainly affecting the young people of this generation who do not respect their elders and do not know the history, they were just born in a country already destroyed. And, in the middle of the story, children with paranormal powers are revealed... I know the story is crazy, but the film is good... It's just a bit violent in many ways-
Returning to the story of Loonatics... I adapted the story of the series a little with some content that she herself showed, like the fact that there are aliens and such... And taking some conspiracies from real life, because it might help... (or not, you know- ). It's also good to get a little of Zadavia's story and her brother's story itself, it's still similar to the original. The main difference is the context of everything... In the beginning, the brothers actually worked together to achieve union with certain planets with the High Council, however they both took care of different things. Zadavia was the more diplomatic person, while Optimatus was the one who took care of the military troops and this made them have different views, but to a certain extent they got along well. However, the day came that the High Council found out about the Milky Way and, consequently, about the planet Earth, so Optimatus and some soldiers went to the planet to try to keep a close eye on the place. But, well... Being human is a complicated being, and if he is already bad with his own species, who will say with Aliens? It didn't happen otherwise, Optimatus and his soldiers were captured and taken to Area 51, where they were tortured and many died in experiments, which is why Optimatus' burns and scars appeared here. He managed to escape, however... He was completely changed and, when he returned, he wanted to annihilate planet Earth and the entire human race for the savagery he went through.
Even hearing the experiences he went through, the High Council denied the proposal for mass annihilation, largely due to Zadavia, who believed that not all humans were bad. Then follows the same idea of Optimatus having kidnapped (in this case, REALLY KILLED) the rest of the council and only being left with Zadavia, who took refuge on Earth because she was one of the few races physically similar to his own, while Optimatus, also trying annihilating the human race, caused an explosion in one of the cities, which was where he was captured, which killed many people, others were left with irreversible damage to their DNA and there were also places still affected by radiation. There were survivors who, in the future, would end up developing mutations in the future that would give them powers, who are our protagonists and also some villains in the series.
In the future, the city managed to rebuild itself, becoming the Acmetropolis that we see today, which on the one hand, became a city full of technology and neon, but on the other, in the poorest and dirtiest regions, it became a place full of crime and both adults and young people traumatized by the "atomic" explosion. The media, at the time, said that it was an explosion caused by an enemy country, but in fact, it was one of Optimatus' attempts to take revenge on humans. While Zadavia? She tried to start life again on Earth, however her alien appearance made her hide her real appearance with a hologram device, making her pass as a mere normal human, both to really start over and to hide from her brother. But, of course... One time or another... He would come back... And until then, she would have to prepare herself too.
And that's kind of the plot of this version, at least, the story of the reason for the technologies and the powers of the protagonists and villains. I don't know if it's too crazy or if it's a bit "cliché", but either way... I feel like I managed to create a good initial plot, in a way, but now, having already mentioned them... Let's talk about the characters.
Main Characters (Reinvented)
Tumblr media
I'm going to say right away in this topic that, basically, I'm going to take some ideas from Drakepad, but just as inspiration. Like the fact that Ace and Lexi are brothers here (because considering they are descendants of Bugs Bunny and Lola Bunny, it's really weird for them to ship...), but I want to make it clear that I'm not going to change the gender of the characters. There are also things like the characters being adults in this version and having already gained their powers before the explosion, but certain events were triggers for them to awaken them. I only change gender or sexuality when it really suits and makes sense, but I honestly like to maintain a certain Canon of the series, and in this case it will be the gender of the protagonists (sexuality is another story...7w7). And another thing... Among the protagonists, there will be NO ships, but there may be some implicit insinuations of a certain relationship between the characters, however very subtle. So let's start with Ace and Lexi...
• Ace and Lexi Bunny
The two are twin brothers who were born in Acmetropolis and, when they were little, they were one of several people who survived the explosion event with their parents by pure luck, however, their mother ended up passing away after medical complications caused by the event, which made Lexi become the "woman" of the family, having to take care of the house, while Ace started working with his father and younger brothers to earn a living. Ace and Lexi, prematurely, ended up having to mature very early to be able to help their family members, with the boy being more affected, even more so with his father also being distant from him, making Ace learn to fight to defend his brothers and having to leave many of the dreams and goals aside sometimes, but I always had a fascination for these heroes from old films. Lexi, in turn, learned several household chores, but still managed to discover her passion for music and dance, dreaming of being a songwriter or singer, to try to bring hope to everyone. As adults, while Lexi managed to enter a more musical career, as a music teacher, Ace also tried to follow his dream of being an actor, but he was unable to pursue the career, as they always judged him as someone incapable, making him give up on that altogether. and starting to work as a handyman. Their powers awakened together, on a day at work, Lexi was going to pick up her brother from one of his jobs, when she was approached by some bad-intentioned boys, with Ace trying to defend her, but both being incapacitated. However, when they were going to harm both of them, that was a trigger for their powers to awaken, which scared the guys and made them run away, calling them monsters and freaks. An event that would mark them forever... And that, in the future, would make them approached by Zadavia and make them meet the rest of the team.
• Danger Duck
The duck is one of several orphans left over from the Acmetropolis explosion, having been trapped in the rubble of their home for many days, scared. When he was found, he was sent to an orphanage along with several other children, where he met his best friend and "brother" Pinkster, who was the only person he could really call a friend, as they were both excluded by the other children. for being "animals" among thousands of human children. Until the day came when the last couple arrived at the orphanage, where Duck used the two-sided coin to be adopted by the couple, a fact that he would regret for the rest of his life... After being adopted, his new parents They gave him all the love they could, but Duck still didn't feel like he belonged to that family, after all they were human and he was a duck. This made him very insecure, but he always tried to hide it in some way. As an adult, he left home and tried to find a job so he could support himself and be able to do well in some way, whether it was being rich or having some form of power, but he was always put down and ridiculed. The trigger that made him awaken his powers was in another one of the many horrible jobs he had, in which he was stressed to such a level that he wanted to disappear from there, which made him teleport to another place, which scared everyone and they made they run away. And, just like the Bunny brothers, he found Zadavia and joined the team.
• Slam Tasmanian
There is not much information about his family, but it is known that he was born in Australia into a huge family. In Slam's case, he just went to Acmetropolis to have a better life, but he was affected by the post-explosion radiation that still resided in certain places. He worked as an underground fighter to earn money, which is where his powers awakened and he used them to his advantage. And when they asked about it, the organizers said "Ah, it's a special effect". He was discovered and found by Loonatics and Zadavia, who offered him to join the team.
• Tech E. Coyote
Again, he is another person affected by the explosion, but in Tech's case, the problems would have started a little earlier. He had been diagnosed with autism since he was little, which made him have some problems communicating with people and had restricted interests, which made him suffer a lot of bullying. However, it was with his parents that he developed a passion for technology, building several things with them. When he went to college, he met Mallory, who became her friend (and possible crush...?), but when he found out about her plan, he soon stopped her and reported it to the teachers, leaving him alone again. His powers were slowly awakening, starting with his molecular regeneration, where some injuries and burns were suddenly healed, until he was able to manipulate metal, which was very useful later in his work. He was found by Zadavia and the others who, as he deduced, also gained their powers from the explosion, joining the team as well.
• Rev Runner
Finally, we come to my favorite. Rev has always been a hyperactive child who didn't pay attention to things, mainly because he has ADHD, however his father didn't want to believe that, just saying that "He's just an overly agitated Roadrunner" or "He's just throwing a tantrum" . Rev then continued with this mental condition, without knowing he had it, always pressured by his family to continue their business, especially after the explosion, where they were trying to get back on their feet. Soon Rev gained a younger sister, "Riley", however the little one didn't like acting like a girl and wore much more of Rev's old clothes, with the older brother always calling her by the pronouns "He/His". Soon, "Riley" came out as a trans man and became "Rip", but his father never accepted this and always said that "his daughter" was contradicting him, making the situation at home even worse. When Rev turned 18, he immediately wanted to take his brother with him, but again was stopped by his parents, unfortunately having to go alone. This small event made him, little by little, unlock the powers that, like Tech, were gradually unlocked, and which he used in his work as a delivery man. He was soon found by Loonatics and Zadavia, also joining the team.
Conclusion
Tumblr media
And that's it, folks! There are still A LOT of things I still want to cover in my version of Loonatics, but the blog is already getting huge... So I'll leave it for a probable part two. Thank you for reading this blog! BYEEEEE!!!

“You might've heard of me as a textbook writer on Tome Mastery: A Guide To Advanced Reason Spells. As you might have guessed, I'm also a Blue Lions alumna... That, and I am the current chairperson of the Department of Reason Magic— so I'm plently capable to guide you around the Officer's Academy!"

How to send asks...
For anons: please make up a realistic fake name. It's for the sake of the theme. Example:
Dear Brynlee,
I can't stop brainrotting about Zhongli like what if he's a prince- prince au zhongli with princess consort reader go brrrrrrr like wtf i can't stop thinking about morax girl i need help
Ms. Sophia Pendragon
I won't entertain "can I be 🗣️ anon" asks. This will let me know if an anon read the rules. Plus, I prefer using names rather than scrambling to find emojis instead. I quit my old one despite being a decently "successful" blog because anons do not respect personal boundaries on my asexuality despite it being explicitly written down. This is just an act of self-preservation.
When sending asks please note that this blog is following Three Houses' worldbuilding. Claiming to be a God or some Diety in the asks will certainly follow confused responses as majority of the cast believes only in Sothis. Modern inventions will likely confuse "Brynn" as well. That is all!
P.S: if you wish to talk to me as a creator, address me as Beloved/B rather than Brynn so I know when to break character. Ty!

the thoughts about Donna Noble being a Steven Taylor mirror haunts me. spasificly the scene in Fires of Pompeii, while Donna is screaming at the doctor to defy the laws of time and save someone! anyone! and its relation to the massacre! Steven shouting at the doctor, screaming that he should have saved Anne Chaplet, so i had to explain and add my reasoning
"STEVEN: Nicholas? You had to leave Anne Chaplet there to die. DOCTOR: Anne Chaplet? STEVEN: The girl! The girl who was with me! If you'd brought her with us she needn't have died. But no, you had to leave her there to be slaughtered."
the doctor is trying to stall, to explain away Anne as maybe surviving
"DOCTOR: Well, it is possible of course she didn't die, and I was right to leave her. STEVEN: Possible? Look, how possible? That girl was already hunted by the Catholic guards. If they killed ten thousand how did they spare her? You don't know, do you? You can't say for certain that you weren't responsible for that girl's death. DOCTOR: I was not responsible.STEVEN: Oh, no. You just sent her back to her aunt's house where the guards were waiting to catch her. I tell you this much, Doctor, wherever this machine of yours lands next I'm getting off. If your researches have so little regard for human life then I want no part of it."
the doctor's reaction, not letting on... just letting Steven leave, not relenting, still feeling the shakles of the rules of time, only recently he learned that he cannot intefear too much in the past and they don't get and he has to show control... he just lets Steven leave!!
approximately 4 dacades later... Donna comes up to the Doctor, screaming at him for the same issue, the same thing happend again, another human friend has jumped up at him, screaming at him so sae someone!!! anyone!!
do you think he had flashbacks to that scene?? among other things, to Steven leaving him??
heck, the fact that Donna is basically a mordfern version of Steven must have tied it all together, both of them are little hates (affectinate) that are not afraid to call the Doctor out on his bulshit.
here he is again, having to stand against his companion, that is screaming at him in a way that he cannot ignore, he cannot step away and lement like he did last time, he cannot sit down alone, while surly Donna would leave him again, she indeed made him admit that he needs someone, he needs someone to be with him. and... at this point why not? why can't he just save one person?
so HE DOES IT, HE SAVES THAT FAMILY
what if as he saved them, he remembered Steven, he finally did good by him in a way he was truly unable to back in the day. god

just got obsessed with marcsteven whats the best long fics? HELP
yeeesss welcome to the delights of Moonmoon shipping, anon sadasasdasd 🤍🤍 I just love those two so much 😭
That being said, as far as long fics for Marcsteven go, it's unfortunately slim pickings with how tiny this fandom is *SOBS* (nearly all my faves are WIPS that haven't updated in a year or more ;-----;). With that being said, if you're okay with me defining "long fic" as fics 20k or over, here are my personal finished faves!
Adjustments by Nagem and its Marcstevenjake sequel, Waiting Room. Ughhhh I was obsessed this pair when they came out.
All this time I was waiting for you by Nakimochiku. Just Marc and Steven being pinning oblivious idiots with slowly simmering sexual tension ;) Also I loved everything Moon knight related by this author, i read their stuff again and again all the time <3
If you don't mind expanding your horizons to include Marcstevenjake, definitely give In the Aftermath series by Queenie a try (or at least the first three Marcsteven-only fics in the series).
What the Right Hand is Doing by Erinptah was such a gem (and try out their Cover by Knight series if you like Moon knight crossovers with other MCU characters. Now THAT'S a long fic [series])
Love Song for a Deadman and The Measure of Things by friight. Actually one of the few fics on here that actually reach past 50k ^u^;; And both are so good!!!
See Through My Act, Tell Me I'm Wrong by snapdragonpop007 is a fandom favorite, and another author whose MK work I will always devour <3
All the Ashes of Our Days, As If it Were the Last Time and Until You Drown all written by MitchieSawyer, and they're some of my favorites fics that have come out within the last year, a year that has otherwise been nearly dead for Marcsteven fic. {Ashes made me sob !!!] And their current WIP, The Less I Give, the More I Give Back, is a wonderful arranged marriage fic, with Marc and steven's contrasting approaches to their Jewish heritage a main focus, and has been updating more or less every week!!!!
That being said.... if like I said you're willing to give polycule Marcstevenjake a shot.... and take a chance on a WIP.... you really really should check out Middle of Nowhere by fishtrombone. Anon, I am OBSESSED with this fic. It hasn't been out a full year yet and it's already at 350k!!!! Technically the longest fic in the fandom and still more to come!!! Marc, Steven, Jake split into separate bodies and stranded in America, bottlenecked in a run down cabin and navigating their complex relationships as the apocalypse looms!! Angsty as shit! Possibly one of my favorite fics of all time, this fic has pulled me along the full spectrum of human emotions the writing is almost painfully beautiful at times, the characterization is spot on {and yes reccing because I need more people to read this fic and give it kudos and encouragement <3)
And in case you didn't see, here's my previous marcsteven rec post where I rec marcsteven fics under 500 kudos !
Hope this helps, Anon :D

Haven't posted in a while, but something that was really bugging me a lot was some shit I noticed when rewatching the Moon Knight series that I think a lot of comic book fans could relate to. I know, Mr " um actually " comic book guy is talking right now but imma need you all to bare with me here for a second. and before any of you start typing, please remember everything said here is MY opinion. All I ask is that you're respectful. I'm going to start of with how I don't understand the hype around this motherfucker.
Tumblr media
Literally the most whiniest mf in the ENTIRETY of the MCU. The only people who can like or tolerate this bitch are mfs who have 9 hours of daily screen time on TikTok, listen to hyperpop music and think that he's a soft uwu meow meow baby girl hurt emo princess boy.
Moon Knight is literally one of the most metal superheros out there and the directors saw that and said, " now imagine that but we make his woman so much better than him and water him down and completely change his back story and then wipe our asses with it, spit on it and then pretend we were trying to show representation. " Like what the fuck are you fucking doing?
My first problem is that I felt like this show focused too much on Layla and her relationship to Marc... Nvm, Sorry I lied. Not Marc, fucking STEVEN. This show isn't about " Layla ", its about MARC and Steven and JAKE. (I'll talk about Jake later) Like can we just... " Are you an Egyptian superhero? " " I am. 🥺" GIRL BYE 💀💀 this part of this show was so bad it made eternals look good. This was cringe on the level of seeing your mother do a dab. All that episode 6 was about was Layla kicking ass and that's it. I don't understand why Kevin Feige has the urge to make everything about badass women. Like theres ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with that, I love badass women and we need more women superheros, but I'm just saying, I came here to watch MOON KNIGHT not Layla El-faouly.
So funny how they make a show about Marc Spector and he only gets like 20 minutes out of the 6 hours of the entirety of the show. I think the most time he got on screen was like episode five and maybe two but that's about it. It felt like he was only there to make things depressing and to make Steven Grant have better character development because he himself is just so fucking boring and not funny. Marc Spector is so much more than " I got hit as a kid and my alter ego is fucking my ex wife. " He's a Jewish antihero struggling with a personality disorder that's eating his life away and a toxic relationship with a man who's been basically lying, emotionally abusing, and manipulating him since his CHILDHOOD. What I love most about Marc Spector is that he's not like all other these mighty superheros, he's just some dude. He just some dude with real human struggles like you and me, trying to figure himself out and navigate through his disorder. Marc should have had a bigger role in this show but I guess Steven Grant and Layla were more interesting than him. Steven is the main course, Layla is the desert and Marc is the salad off to the side that's barley been eaten.
Steven Grant is not a shy British man with great manners who works in a gift shop and is giving in his moms flat, he's a savvy millionaire ( who's from Chicago, Illinois, so as Marc and Jake ) who works in the film industry and lives in a mansion. Those are two completely different characters. Everyone that I've seen who's criticized Steven in the slightest has said that he was bland, boring, and the producers were trying too hard to make him funny. You can't try to have something that's just straight up sad happening with a character and then pretend that it's funny and try to make it into comedy. That's just not how it works and it's not realistic. That's why movies like The Crow are good and movies like Renfield are bad. The Crow takes itself seriously and is genuinely sad but lightly sprinkled with comedy, Renfield wanted to be a bit sad, but ruined itself by trying to hard to make every scene funny.
The only good scene in this entire show is the scene where Marc says, " you are you the only real superpower I ever had " or whatever the fuck. I didn't pay attention because all I could think about was the scene from frozen where Anna fucking froze and Elsa cried about it and then unfroze her with her tears or something. I guess her tears must have been really hot.
What I'll give Muhammad Diab credit for is casting. Having Layla be Egyptian is good, and having Oscar Isaac casted as Marc is also really good. Everyone In the comics is white for a character normally centered around Egyptian bullshit. They also got Khonshus personality right and that's about it.
I hate how the producers said that this show was all about " representation" and then didn't add Frenchie, who is a gay french guy in it or Bushman who is a black mercenary because he was " too much like Killmonger " ( which doesn't make any fucking sense because they are drastically different on so many levels but okay. ) they also said that this show is they're most brutal and violent show yet, but they were " violent " ( and bloody-ish ) the first three episodes and then just kinda gave up towards the end.
For the last thing, I'm gonna talk about Jake finally. Just pretend that I'm sighing right now. Like a really audible, dramatic sigh.
I get they wanted for us to differentiate the differences between each personality with accents but Jake doesn't need to speak Spanish. He doesn't speak Spanish in the comics and having him do it is completely unnecessary. I get it's Hollywood and Hollywood needs to make everything sexy and attractive, but Jake Lockley is the least sexiest alter of Marc Spector. He doesn't wear a suit with black leather gloves or drive a limousine, he's a fucking taxi cab driver with a really weird mustache who wears a turtle neck. When I think sexy, I don't think taxi driver. And it ruins the point of Jake Lockley as well because Marc uses Jake to see what's going on on the streets in New York. New York is really busy and crowded, so people are more prone to using a taxi, not a limousine unless you're bougie and rich.
Anyways that was my rant. Good night.

since you are my go to source for anything wec
is there any truth to the rumors that seb might be joining wec with Jota i think it was?
or its just silly rumors running around
The original sources for the rumors were reliable. But no actual signing was rumored just the fact it could happen and he was approached. I don't doubt he actually was approached. But the rumors have significantly died down the past month or so. Monday WEC will release their entry list, and while there are gaps on it as teams are only required to sign up with a single driver for the initial entry list - It could give a better picture maybe.
Jota is known to have requested whether they can run only two drivers for select races and they've gotten the confirmation they can, so that's also a part in the messy thing that is their line up rumors. Because the request on clarification of the rules was definitely written with the intent to do so.
Now Jota have already lost da Costa and will likely lose Ye as well. So loosing 2/3 of your drivers while upgrading to a second car doesn't sound so well anyway.
Obviously Norman Nato did the rookie test for Jota, but his FE team, Andretti is known to dislike their drivers doing dual programs. Now he's not their previous champion so maybe they're a little more lenient on it, but I'm assuming they're not letting him skip Berlin. This could however relate to the Jota question whether running 2 drivers was allowed.
Jenson Button was also obviously rumored, and he's been announced as a fourth driver at the 24H of Daytona which means he's likely not running a full IMSA season. Which does open the door to that Jota seat for him. Then also I'm assuming Jota keeps Stevens and Harry Tincknell is apparently also a possibility for Jota.
This doesn't fill six seats tho, so I'm assuming if Vettel really wants to he'd definitely be able to join the team. Now WEC also runs on 100% renewable fuel, which maybe could influence his decision to join the championship in a positive way.
But anyway, sorry for the long answer but I'm not sure. There's definitely something going on behind the scenes between Vettel and Jota and if that ends up in a race seat for Vettel.. only time will tell.

Studying Struggles- The Moon Boys
SFW// Minors and ageless blogs, DNI // You will be blocked
Summary:
Being a university student can come with its challenges, but the boys are more than willing to help you combat them.
Word Count:
1.0K
Warnings/Triggers:
Brief mentions of an unhealthy eating schedule (non-ED related; only in Jake Lockley's section)
Unrelated, but to my Cubans and potentially other hispanics out there, DON'T FREAK OUT when I mention habichuelas y arroz LMAO. My fam is Puerto Rican and we eat them all the time, but I only recently learned from a Cuban friend that whenever I talk about habichuelas y arroz, she thinks I'm mixing green beans and rice. I'm actually talking about delicious stewed beans (with papas y jamon ofc) and rice. That's all, just wanted you to know that I'm not a green bean heathen <3
Steven Grant
Your tendency to agree to anything that's asked of you makes being a student exceedingly difficult
Coworkers will ask you to pick up the odd shift or two and you'll hopelessly accept, managing to take notes on a chapter or two for your problem class after a lunch rush or during your breaks
Your friends might ask you to be a designated driver for their night at the club and you just can't say no, knowing damn well you'll have to study from the moment you get home until your alarm starts going off to get ready for work
It's always one thing after the next, it seems, and although you don't like to admit it to yourself, it can get utterly exhausting
That changes a little once you move in with the boys, however
Steven makes an effort to remember even your most minute mentions exams, and when they start coming up, he makes an effort to help you get the most out of your studies
He'll try his best to keep his cluttered flat a little more organized, keeping his books mostly on their shelves and making sure his desk is relatively clear
Requests for you to join your friends on nights out diminish, but for some odd reason when you are invited, its conveniently on weekends where you're free
After catching Steven steal a peek at your pocket calendar before sending a text, however, you quickly piece together why
He even beats you to the phone when someone from work calls, quickly hitting decline before you can even protest
"Come on, love. You and I both know it's not good for you to pick up any more shifts this week."
He's just supportive through and through, making sure you're not overwhelming yourself while also cheering you on
As soon as exam season is over, he treats you to a weekend of nothing but eating take out and catching up on your favorite shows, too
Marc Spector
You're by no means a stupid person, however, you are quite unorganized
Every week there's a deadline that comes out of nowhere, whether it be for a research paper worth 30% of your grade or an exam that you simply can't afford to do bad on
You typically do enough to pull through in the end, but you're always mentally spent and by the time you're recovered, the cycle repeats again
Marc almost immediately catches onto this, and one night when you close your laptop after barely submitting a presentation on time, he decides he can't let you go on like that
He helps you pull up the syllabi for all your courses and painstakingly comb through the due dates, neatly filling out the calendar you'd neglected to use all semester until everything is written down
"See how I broke everything up across the week? It's so you can get stuff done early and stop killing yourself every Sunday."
He makes you promise to try to follow the schedule you guys made and, while you weren't a fan of the idea of jumping back into your school work so soon after another hectic weekend, you begrudgingly agreed
Marc didn't let your efforts go unrecognized
When you were making slow but steady progress on a book report, you almost don't realize Marc had placed your favorite drink from a local cafe next to you until he was pressing a kiss to the top of your head
After you finally finished drilling through flashcards for a quiz, he was at your side in an instant with your coat in his hand
"Let's go on a walk for a little while, you could use a break."
By the time Friday night had rolled around, you turned in your report and found yourself with nothing left to do
Marc simply smirked at the shocked expression on your face as you flipped through the planner to double check, returning his attention to the dinner he was cooking
"Good job, habibti. Now you can sleep in with me all weekend."
Jake Lockley
Typically, you've got a pretty good hold on balancing all of your school responsibilities with the demands of day-to-day life
You're on top of your studying and homework assignments while also juggling a social life and household chores
The one thing that slips through the cracks, however, is food
Your kitchen gets deserted overnight, the contents of your fridge replaced with meal replacement shakes
Jake notices this especially when a big exam or assignment is coming up- its as if you've subconsciously knocked nutrition down on the hierarchy of importance
He doesn't like that- not one bit
So he puts an end to it
During your next stressful bought, he made it his personal mission to make sure you were eating real food for every meal
Even when you offered up polite protests of "Jake, you don't have to do all that" or "I'll be fine, I promise", they always fell on deaf ears
"Nourishing your body is just as important as nourishing your mind, mi vida. Eat."
And that's how it went from then on
Sometimes you'll be hunched over your computer, nearly done reteaching yourself how to calculate pH, when he leaves a plate of scrambled eggs at your side
Other times you'd be so busy plowing through practice problems, you almost don't notice the hot cup of coffee and sandwich waiting for you
When the night runs late and you start nodding off in your seat, he'll close the laptop in front of you and drag a chair over to join you, the two of you having a late meal of habichuelas and rice
That's how it continues until your last final is finally taken and you can relax
You always offer different ways to make up for it, like doing all the cooking for a month in return, but all he ever wants is quality time with you

Here is my submission for @dribbonart 's amedot fusion competition! I like her a lot, although there are a couple of things I probably could have done a bit better lol
Steven is there for height comparison. All of the text on the page is in the alt text :)
I have A LOT of notes under the cut, which can get a bit stream-of-consciousness-y (because I can never just be chill about something bsdjaksjdlskd),, so I apologise in advance for how long it is 😭
Early research notes:
Mixing amethyst and peridot's skin colours together gets you a kind of sage green colour, so I researched to light green gems
Aventurine stuck out to me as it was the only one i found where it was actually described as sage green, so i thought 'that's perfect' lol
A lot of the healing properties of green aventurine I think resonate with both amethyst and peridot's personalities, from its promotion of friendship to its emission of positive energy
I liked that one of the sites i used to research aventurine mentioned ancient civilisations' usage of green aventurine and i wanted to incorporate that into the fusion's design/personality
It's important to me for her to have aspects of both amethyst and peridot shown in the design somewhere. Most of the time when i design fan fusions I do this in their hair, which is not different this time. I made her hair long, with a bushy tail on her braid representing amethyst, and her three skull braids representing peridot's triangle hair. Her hair is also in a braid bc when i hear the word adventure for some reason the first thing i think of is Lara Croft so,,, thats why i gave her a braid 😅
I wanted her body design to kind of resemble athleisure-wear since she loves relaxing but can get up and go at any point, ready for adventure! She also doesn't need to be complicated. I don't think she needs extra limbs etc since she has her vision power.
Obviously the crystal gems are very important to both amethyst and peridot, so I wanted to give her at least one star on her body. Her torso seemed like the most obvious place, but I'm not sure if she should have more elsewhere, too. The star on her torso can be like a tattoo.
I think she would be very intense in her love for her friends, which might make people uncomfortable. She will back off if she senses this, but she means well I promise!!
She can be spontaneous when it comes to her adventuring, sometimes dragging Steven and the other gems from their beds to go on a Cool Adventure (pearl is NOT a fan of this lmao)
When I say 'adventuring' I really mean just travelling and/or exploring new places, which could be anything from a new city to a deep jungle. Normally these adventures don't last longer than a couple of days... unless they get lost..........
A few amedot related rambles notes:
One of my favourite things about amedot is that they're sooo opposite. I'm such a big opposites-attract truther almost everything I ship there's one puppy dog and one wet cat there's nothing i love more than polar opposite pairings <3
With that said they also share a few things (cough being short asses cough) such as their love of their friends (even if they show it in different ways) and they can both be pretty headstrong. They both had their own journeys - amethyst with her self confidence and feeling inferior, and peridot with unlearning the system of homeworld and the traditions she was so used to. They both had to learn how to love themselves enough to be able to stand up for what they believe in and to let themselves be true to themselves (i hope that makes sense lol)
I think their opposing traits can be quite complementary. Peridot is quite intense; she gets excited about her favourite things and she gets embarrassed easily. Amethyst is more laid-back and tends to roll her own way. They complement each other well.
More refined notes:
Amethyst's personality: Mellow Lazy/messy (affectionate) Improved self-esteem Fiercely loyal
Peridot's personality: Self-confident Smart (robotics) Analytical Intense interests/personality Learned to enjoy life/appreciate Earth
Aventurine properties:
Quartz
Name comes from Italian for adventure
Known as a heart-healer for it's relation to the heart chakra
Said to bring prosperity in all facets of life
Emits a positive energy, slows overactive minds, guides lost spirits, promotes friendships
Ancients Tibetans used it in statues, believing it's glimmer gave them higher vision
Amazon tribes used it in jewellery, believing it gave their royalty and warriors guidance in battles
Aventurine personality:
Self-confident
Enjoys seeking adventure but really values her downtime
Adores her friends - loyal
Can take charge if needed
Can be spontaneous with adventuring
Emotional decision-maker
Although she is very smart, she tends to think with her heart rather than her head
She has a special power - higher vision grants her the ability to see for miles and can focus in any person/thing in the present
Similar to Sapphire's future vision but stays in the present
She gets her street smarts and go-with-the-flow attitude from Amethyst
She gets her intense love and confidence from Peridot
Hyper but content in life

taking on @who-is-page's Folcintera Week Challenge! do note that entries most likely won't be daily, because i have Various Things wrong with me (such as Work and Chronic Sleepy) <3
🐾 What is your species? How do you experience aspects of your nonhumanity?
I’m a fisher marten, human-gem-hybrid, coyote, animal familiar, artificial mobian hedgehog, and a demon-weapon. I’m also a Storyteller archetrope, though that doesn’t totally apply here (until it does, sometimes).
Generally speaking, I experience various shifts — most commonly in the form of phantom limbs / parts (ears, tail, fur, fangs, gem, etc), envision or "self-image" shifts (tho I hesitate to call them "shifts" since I don't usually internally "see" my human-body-self, when I think about my self-image anyway), and mental / instinctual shifts — and have sort-of-memories, as well as noemata. All of this is physiological & neurologically based (though, my Shadow fictotype was just kind of... dropped into my lap, uninvited, and I've simply been Shadow The Goddamn Hedgehog ever since), with a very "narrative" framework to a lot of it.
When it comes to my animality specifically, I experience it in possibly a very niche way. I do have very “usual” experiences of beastly shifts, instincts, etc, but I’m not just restricted to four legs. I’m kind of like those queer little animals in Beatrix Potter’s books, Little Bear, or RedWall — I’m a creature straight out of a beast fable. Kind of furry adjacent, but also Pretty Much A Furry in a very nonhuman way. It kind of melds into very human activities. Unnoticeable unless I become aware of it, because it’s become almost background-noise levels of normalized to me. I almost always have some phantom animal part, be it ears, a tail, quills, fangs, pawpads, claws. It's more noticeable to not have these shifts.
My animal familiar-ness is still something I have yet to delve deeper into, as this is a concept that requires connection to another; lending one’s self to help someone you’re bonded to. Admittedly, I haven’t had the chance to explore it yet, but I do know that it’s affected by all manner of its depiction and origins. Be that daemons from His Dark Materials, or palismen from the Owl House, each iteration of the “magical animal companion” feels like me. It also bleeds into dragon-rider bonds, and heavily affects how I experience that genre, or stories that have this as a trope or character. Rather than relating to the (usually always human/humanoid) rider, I find myself in the shoes (or, more aptly, the scales) of the ridden dragon.
Being Steven Universe is an experience I’m not sure I can articulate properly in a few sentences, other than... that is who I am. I am Steven in the most mundane, everyday ways possible. Being Steven is also the closest to being internally human that I'm ever going to get, and even that never feels like "human from this earth." I am Steven in the way I have endless optimism, in the way I always want to help and fix others’ problems (even if I can’t, and even if it’s detrimental to my own mental health), and in the way that I have Goddamn Mommy Issues. Again (which is only partially a joke). I may not be Steven-From-The-Show or Steven-From-The-Light-Games, but that's also me. Even some fanfiction iterations are me, which is something of an entirely separate essay in itself.
The demon-weapon thing is... well, saying it (simply) “feels good to identify as something that can turn into a weapon” seems... kind of surface level, but, it’s what I experience. There are days where it feels like I should be able to flex some unseen muscle, something under the surface, and have my arm become a blade, or to be able to morph completely into a scythe or sword. That I should be able to resonate my very soul with the one(s) closest to me, so that they could literally wield me as the weapon I was meant to be. It’s something I know will never be a reality, but that it should.
And... being Shadow the Hedgehog means experiencing a gut wrenchingly regretful nostalgia for a sister I never had & couldn’t save. It means having quill shifts out of nowhere, sometimes over top other phantom shifts, and having something to attribute my memory gaps to (even though I know they’re because of the auDHD, & not caused by this fictotype. Sometimes to get mentally well you have to be a little mentally unwell). It means embracing not knowing who I am, and forging ahead anyway.

'He starred in one of the year’s most profoundly moving films, All of Us Strangers, and won praise for bringing Uncle Vanya to the London stage. Now Andrew Scott continues an impressive run of work by giving audiences a fresh take on one of the most iconic characters of them all.
Since US novelist Patricia Highsmith first brought Tom Ripley to life in a series of novels, the shrewd criminal and con-artist has enthralled readers and audiences alike.
Over the years, actors including Alain Delon, John Malkovich and Matt Damon have brought Ripley to the screen. Now the Dublin actor takes a deep dive into Ripley in a new series for Netflix - and characteristically makes the role his own. Not only does Scott take on an American accent for the role - impressively, he learned to speak Italian to play the character, who moves to the Mediterranean in the late 1950s.
“I had a wonderful Italian teacher and learned it for three or four months before we started just so you could understand it. It's a beautiful language to speak. And then of course, when you're around it, you become more interested in it," says Scott.
“It's one of the things you have to get used to a little bit as an actor - you've got to become really adept at something for a particular period, and then you have to move on to something else. I love that about acting, actually. But I'll try to keep it, I'm going to go back to Italy this year.”
Scott has given us a Ripley for the ages in the suspenseful series. It’s written and directed by Steven Zaillian, whose previous screenwriting credits include Schindler’s List, The Irishman and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
Zaillian brings Hitchcockian levels of tension to the storytelling, shot in black and white and striking in its attention to detail.
“It's the most extraordinary character and we spend so much time inside his mind and inside his world,” says Scott of taking on Ripley. “I think that's what's remarkable about it. Sometimes in a television series where there's eight hours of this, it might be about a couple, or a police department, or a family, or a hospital. This is really based on one person. We spend so much time with this guy, the character's in 95% of the eight hours, that's an awful lot of time to spend with one character.
“And so the challenge of it is to not blot the copybook too much in relation to how wonderful the mystery of the man is, as well as what we do know about him, which is that he is an enduring character that people love. But I think the questions about him, and his mysteriousness and his secretiveness, are a reason that he's so fascinating to play.”
Understandably, he opted not to watch other performances depicting Tom Ripley, though he had seen Alain Delon in Purple Noon and Matt Damon in The Talented Mr Ripley years previously.
“I love both those versions for different reasons. It's happened before in relation to Shakespearean characters, you think: ‘Oh, I don't want to see that’. You want to be able to put your own stamp on it.
“I was very lucky because I received the full eight hours of scripts, a big pile of scripts to read, which is very unusual for an actor. You usually get maybe one or two episodes. I had the whole thing mapped out and I knew immediately how extraordinarily written they were and sparsely written.
“I love the film noir-ish element to it. It's absolutely exquisite to look at and I love the opaqueness of playing this character. It felt like a real departure for me.”
The series was shot in New York and various glamorous locations throughout Italy including Rome, Capri, the Amalfi Coast and Palermo, as Scott’s Tom Ripley travels to Europe to seek out an old acquaintance, the wealthy and privileged Dickie Greenleaf (Johnny Flynn).
As a boy, a shy Scott took up acting classes and quickly fell in love with the craft - playing the Tin Man in one of his first ever performances.
Years later, he went on to star in several Irish dramas including Jimmy’s Hall and Handsome Devil. He gave us the villainous Moriarty in a TV adaptation of Sherlock and the legendary ‘hot priest’ in Fleabag.
“I think we all as human beings want to do something that's of use to other people,” he says of his career. “You want to do something that's useful in the world. I suppose I appreciate more now, how much this can be of use to people, and how it genuinely helps.
“I do feel like I try to force myself sometimes into appreciating that what I do can be of use to people and it's not a frivolous thing, because I know that actors and artists of all different persuasions have really helped me.”
There have been many memorable screen performances from the Irish actor, but theatre is at the very heart of what he does, and his recent successes include an award-winning run of Vanya, which also screened widely in cinemas.
“It's just like injecting the atmosphere straight into your veins,” he says of live performance. “You don't wait around - you're the chief artist, if I'm honest, as an actor. In the theatre, you're in charge.
“If the audience is getting bored, it's your job to pick the pace up, it's your job to be sort of all seeing, and there's nothing like that. If you don't exercise those muscles, you lose them and I don't want to lose them. I find it just the purest form of storytelling. Vanya was exhilarating, and exhausting, and all the things.”
Scott brought audiences one of the finest screen performances of the year in All of Us Strangers, which audiences are falling in love with on streaming services following its successful cinema run. He and his friend and co-star Paul Mescal entertained fans with their banter while publicising the film.
“It's been extraordinary,” says Scott of the film’s reception. “I’m still processing that actually, how affecting the film was for people. I suppose I understand for my own personal reasons more now why it affected people so much.
“I did that project with people that I really love - Paul especially. And when we brought it back to Ireland it was completely magical for both of us. It was very, very special. I'm very grateful to have just been part of it, not just the film, but the process and the reception and everything about it.”
Ripley comes to Netflix from Thursday, April 4. www.netflix.com/Ripley.'

On the Run
This episode broke me.
I am...
I....
I am a broken creature & my heart has been thoroughly stomped into the ground.
This is....this is the best episode so far....but it's achieved the status of best by absolutely tearing me apart in every way & leaving my emotions as a pile of tear soaked dust.
Okay before we get to that: I have one thing to say....
GARNET HAS MASSIVE AND PLENTIFUL BALLS. Look this post ended up being a lot more personal & emotional than this blog usually has been so I'm giving you a balls joke to balance it out. I have a feeling that there will be more emotional venting if this episode is an indicator of what the rest of the show is like: we're gonna need all the dick & ball jokes we can muster up.
Tumblr media
First off: easily the best musical number in the show so far. Yes even better than Pearl's solo number. And I do not say that lightly. That is a tough level to beat. And they did it. Steven & Amethyst take the gold medal for best song so far. 👌
ALSO OH MY GOD THESEE SHOTS THESE COLOURS THIS DJFJFNDIFJW ITS SO FUCKING GOOD????????
Tumblr media Tumblr media
WHY DID SO MANY PEOPLE ON YOUTUBE TELL ME THIS SHOW HAS BAD ANIMATION WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT ARE WE WATCHING THE SAME SHOW?????? SURE THERES BEEN SOME WONKY DRAWINGS BUT MOST OF IT HAS BEEN VISUAL GOD TIER SHIT LIKE THIS. This episode was actually quite a step up in the animation compared to the previous ones. It's like the animators stepped on the gas here. I love it.
(Hey there uh so Trigger warning for this post just in case bc I do mention the topics of self harm/self hate/passive suic*de & that kinda stuff. So if that's not your thing, I'm really sorry & I understand if you wanna just stop reading here. If this isn't a topic you like to see mentioned at all, I'll just summarize my opinion here real quick & you can click away, I'm happy you're here at all btw thanks for reading this far!! & I want you to know you're valid for feeling this way btw: Don't let anyone tell you different. Anyways tldr I love this episode & how it tackles Amethysts character & it's the best episode so far & it made me cry really really bad & I am more of an emotional mess now than I usually am.)
Tumblr media
So getting a bit personal here: I have said many times throughout my life that 'I never asked to be born'. I still think it now.
(Side Note but oh my god the animation in this fight was fucking incredible. Holy shit. And these shots go so fucking hard they COOKED this shit to perfection.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ive been depressed & passively suicidal for most of my life. I honestly cannot really recall a time where I didn't feel this way. I'm just kinda used to it by now I guess.
Tumblr media
(This shot. This frame right here. This was when I had to pause the episode to calm down from how bad I was crying.)
So to hear Amethyst say the exact same thing that I have said so many times before: That broke me. That just fucking broke me. And like it's not the first time I cried at this show so far: BUT this IS the first time the show genuinely struck an such an extremely difficult & personal chord with me, not just like being sometihng I relate to, but the chord it struck was deep & painful enough that I had to actually pause the episode because of how much I needed to process it. Like I could not pay attention with how bad it made me break. So yeah it's now score 1 for the amount of times this show has fucking utterly destroyed me. Not every show is able to get me to react like THAT. The only other show in recent memory that got that reaction out of me that I can remember at the time of typing this is well, The Owl House. To be fair I haven't watched too too many new shows but yeah. This got me crying badly enough that I had to take a moment to calm down. Wasn't expecting to have that nerve struck like that.
That just hit on a personal chord for me & just....fuck man. I know that feeling. And they nailed how it feels. Amethysts reaction was exactly how it feels for me, just outwardly anger & tears. It hurts. Obviously anger & crying is simplifying it a lot, it's a lot more than just baseline that but you get what I mean. You could tell that she was feeling that exact way. & holy shit the fact that she's been the "comedic relief" of the gems so far & yet she's had easily the most fucked up & sad backstory of the show so far. Yeah if catching me off guard & completely blindsiding me with this was the goal: Goal fucking achieved because that was like a whack to my fucking face with a frying pan.
So....like, is this gonna be a reoccuring thing? I just.....get the feeling that this is a sign that the show absolutely fucking me up emotionally may become a more frequent thing going forward. So like, if that is the case......fuck. I'm so fucked. I am going to be a fucking wreck by the end of this show. This is gonna fucking leave me a sobbing mess, isn't it? What the fuck have I gotten myself into-
Tumblr media
I am afraid. Also I am going to need to buy more tissues.
And the scene where Pearl & Amethyst speak in the hole is some of the best writing in any CN show. Ever.
(Also to break up the depressing talk, OH MY GOD I LOVE THAT PEARL IS SO FUCKING TALL THAT SHE HAS TO BEND DOWN AND SIT STANDING UP ON HER TIPPY TOES. THAT'S SO FUCKING ADORABLE I LOVE HER I AM GOING TO FUCKING LOSE IT.)
Tumblr media
This episode was absolutely perfect.

They’ve all seen John Wick and Triple Frontier and have very strong opinions.
What are their opinions?
Sorry for taking long to answer this anon! Had a busy work week, but here we are now :) Moon Boys + John Wick / Triple Frontier
tw: spoilers for John Wick and Triple Frontier, animal dying, violence?
John Wick
Marc relates to John's character, with his military/merc history, finding the love he never thought he deserved
the movie is made for dog lovers (I mean not really but still yknow), all of your moon boys hate that scene but they get it, get the rage that would surface if it were them
little puppy Daisy HAS STEVEN MELTING, he was so alone for a while, he wishes he had a little companion like that other than Gus
Jake hates the scene where the guy is just slapping the Mustang and asking for a price, he's shuffling uncomfortably during it and mumbling Spanish swear words at his character
Steven hates the death of the dog so much, hates the way they showed the violence for it and almost wants to turn off the movie but instead lets Jake front to let him process and gather his bearings
Steven does come back out when the Vulture (B99) pops out, "Oi, what's he doin' in a film like this?"
obviously from there, the action just picks up and the boys switch fronting to comment (Marc appreciating a certain move, Jake bragging "I can do that, too, but with less grunting")
Steven is a Willem Dafoe fan from Wes Anderson films and Spider-man
honestly, the whole hard-to-get-out once you're involved thing gives Marc major flashbacks of Khonshu's initial deal, so he heavily relates to John
the silent lethal way John moves reminds them of some of their heavier, ruthless Moonknight nights
the copper taste of bloodshed is brought back to Marc from his mercenary days, the pedestal of an iconic ex-assassin making him wince from the glamour they've painted his reality with
as cheesy as some of the dialogue is - which they critisize, "nobody talks like that in real life" and "this guy sounds like a pendejo"
"I knew I liked that guy!" (Steven about Willem's character, he always was good at reading people)
after all that action, John goes to adopt another dog which makes Steven really happy and the other two content with the way everything was settled in the end
overall, they would NOT watch it again, opinions being it was borderline triggering for Marc even though they related to John's portrayal, they wouldn't go through that again so they didn't bother with the sequel
Triple Frontier
you somehow convince the boys to watch Triple Frontier, even though they see straight through your interests, "its only because Poe and Mando are in it," Marc says rolling his eyes
first ten minutes and he's already complaining about how tight Santiago's pants are
Jake fronts when he starts speaking Spanish, squinting his eyes, closely listen to his accent, immediately taking a liking to Santi
Steven fronts to say he gets bad vibes from Tom, shaking his head and frowning, "no, no, don't like that one"
Marc loves the soundtrack, "You know I'm a sucker for Stevie- no not you, Steven, Stevie Nicks"
Marc surprises you by saying Fish reminds him of a friend of his, and says his and Santiago's relationship is similar to what they had
he likes this movie better than John Wick, he can understand their initiative, their purpose, and takes a liking to the team's brotherhood
Steven doesn't miss the way you ogle Santi through the bar scene, popcorn falling out of your hands when he starts beating at the wall to get at the money, jumping to call you out on it
Jake starts shaking his head at Tom's greed, "This pendejo is going to get them killed"
eventually, they get quiet after Tom's death, most likely thinking of Marc's past, and their own battles
you spend the last half hour of the movie looking back and forth between their face and the screen, trying to make sure they're alright
they definitely like this movie better than John Wick, commenting that the ending was more fulfilling than the other, and mumbled something about reaching out to Frenchie
errr, hope this fulfilled... what you wanted LOL

Other long little scenes for y'all. This time related to the boys' different attachment problems.
Attachment with the Moon Boys (+ Steven centric parts of a fic)
The Essay Part
Steven is insecure and emotionally dependent.
He's never had a partner before, so from the start he doesn't really know how to relationship. Soon the system realizes that Steven isn't the 'good one' with 'no issues' if it wasn't obvious enough already.
Both Marc and Steven are *very* insecure about other people's attachment and love for them. Marc keeps it in, while Steven can't keep it in. He's an open book, which means he's a ball of anxiety in a relationship.
Both Marc and Steven are unable to believe someone when they say they love them, and while Marc is mostly fatalistic about it (and self-destructive) Steven constantly needs reassurance that the person really loves him. So Steven is as self-destructive as Marc is, but in a totally different way.
And Jake? Jake can't even understand it, can't understand that someone loves him. Nobody ever said those words to him until now. So it's better to keep going without even acknowledging other people's feelings for him. That's why he's overwhelmed when someone says 'I love you' to him. When that happens, he switches to Steven or Marc - whoever is available. He just can't warp his head around it, doesn't know how to react to it.
.
Back to Steven.
So Steven is the kind of insecure that can get annoying fast. His emotional dependence shows its head pretty quickly after he starts dating Layla too. Layla liked Steven a lot, so she put up with it, even finding it adorable at the start of their relationship.
After some time though, the novelty was gone. And having someone who follows you like a shadow, doesn't want to do anything without you being involved, always search for your approval. Someone who has their entire world literally revolving around you, where they're at your beck and call, doing everything you want, running to help you, doing way too much for you and not thinking about themselves. Someone who always asks you hundreds of questions every time you go out (not in an accusatory way but in a 'I wanna know about everything of your life away from me' way) and thinks you're going to leave them everytime you're talking to someone else (again not in a possessive way but in a 'everyone is better than me' way). It gets pretty exhausting after awhile.
And Layla, who was used to Marc who didn't and doesn't do any of that, gets pretty tired of not having any independence when Steven is around.

Layla still liked Steven a lot, and romantic feelings towards Steven were budding within her, but that kind of behavior was now putting a pretty heavy break on those emotions from growing any further.
She started to tell him obliquely that she needed more space, needed to breathe more. Steven being neuroatypical didn't always pick up on clues like these.
Layla usually had no difficulty being direct, she was however worried that telling Steven directly what the problems were would make him even more insecure and anxious.
If she still wanted to like him and keep their relationship however, she had no choice but to sit him down and tell him directly. She only needed to use velvet gloves to do so.
Layla : 'Steven, do you have a minute? I have a few things to tell you.'
Steven, sweating : 'hm yes'
Layla : 'Don't worry it's nothing big - well it is important but it's nothing bad or anything'
Steven nodded, his nervousness not abating.
They sat somewhere in their apartment, Layla facing him, close to him.
Layla : 'You're an amazing boyfriend. You're so dedicated and sweet and fun, I really like spending time with you.'
Steven : '...but ?'
Layla : 'I'm getting there. I only want you to really get what I'm feeling about you first, do you get that ?'
Steven : 'I...that's not...you find me annoying though, right ?'
Layla : 'This is not what I said, focus on what I said. What did I say ? No buts.'
Steven: 'That you like me ?'
Layla : 'Yes. A lot. Do you get that ?'
Steven : 'I get it but-'
Layla : 'good', she interrupted, 'I think our relationship is going well, there's ways it could go even better. Do you want know them ?'
Steven : 'I....'
Layla : 'They're things you can do, maybe some will be hard for you but I'll help you with them. It's not about who you are.'
Steven : '...Okay yes I want to know what I can do'
Layla : 'Good. Great', she squeezed his hands reassuringly, 'I'm used to...sometimes I like to do things on my own, you know? We don't have to do everything together when you're here. It's good to have some time to ourselves so the times we spend together feel even better.'
Steven : 'Of course, yes. I get that. You've told me, you've told me before you needed more space and that's what I'm doing.'
Layla : 'You're doing it ?' She tried not to sound too surprised.
Steven : 'Yes! I'm working hard on giving you more space.'
Layla : 'Oh'
Steven : 'You didn't see it ?'
Layla : 'No, no! I have!' She lied, 'It's just... maybe I could give you some tips so it'd be easier for you ?'
Steven : 'Okay'
Layla : '- like we don't always need to touch or talk, we can be in each other's company without interacting all the time. It's still good. And I don't always need help, if I do I'll ask okay ? Hey, it doesn't hurt to be selfish sometimes. I don't need to always be your priority. I won't get mad or dislike you for it.'
Steven : 'But you are my priority! I don't want it any different, and even if I wanted - your happiness is everything to me.'
Layla : 'If anyone should be your priority number 1 besides yourself- shouldn't it be Marc ?'
Steven : 'Uh, yeah he should. I mean he is, but...it's not the same, our relationship.'
Layla : 'Maybe you should treat me the same then ? You know, my happiness...I'd be happier knowing that you have other things in your life, that you put your own happiness first. Maybe it'd even help you being less anxious. You had things you loved, things you prioritized before we met right? I know you did.'
Steven : 'I did, I still do, but we have the same interests, I don't see why we couldn't do them together.'
Layla : 'We can still share our interests and do some of it together! But not all of it. Like reading, that's a pretty individual activity.'
Steven: 'Yeah....I've been interrupting your work a lot didn't I ? I'm so sorry.'
Layla gave him an half smile : 'Don't apologize, just try to not do it as much, can you do that ?'
Steven nodded : 'I can.'
Layla: 'And hey why don't you find another job in egyptology or archeology, you loved your last job didn't you ?'
Steven: 'I...I did. That's all I could get, really. I don't have any formal training in those fields, so I can't get any of the jobs I'd really love.'
Layla: 'You're passionate and you're very well read, you don't need formal training in those fields, you only need to show what you can do! I have connections remember? I'll help you find something!'
Steven : 'Really ?'
Layla : 'Yes! Of course! Let me do things for you too!'
Steven : 'Thank you!' He said emphatically. If she could find him a job in egyptology- if he could go back out there and be able to learn more, or teach, he'd be forever grateful.
Layla : 'I understand how difficult it can be to just trust what people say, what I say -'
Steven : 'I trust you !' He protested.
Layla : 'You do, but do you trust what I say about you ? What I tell you when I say how much I care about you ?'
Steven : 'I- no, I don't.' He said, eyes rounding in surprise at his own words. He'd never contemplated that idea long enough to know, and now he was facing it. She was right. He didn't believe her. 'It's not that I don't want to, it's -'
Layla: 'It's difficult to do, I know.' she said, her voice soft.
Steven : 'I don't even know why I don't !'
Why didn't he believe her, why was he so insecure? Was it only because he was inexperienced with love ? Or did their traumas not skip him as completely as they thought?
Layla : 'I don't think Marc believes me either'
Steven : 'he doesn't', he admitted. Maybe he shouldn't have said that, but it felt - appropriate, at that moment.
Layla : 'He never said it, but it's not hard to guess. Even with him, it shows. You're not as dissimilar as you think. As much as I wish I could change both your minds, as much as I am honest when I say it, I can't do much more to show you my love.'
Steven : 'I don't want you to believe that I don't appreciate everything you do for me, for us. I truly do! And I'm convinced he does too. It's just - those thoughts are hard to keep out for very long.'
Layla gave a reassuring smile : 'maybe you could help each other there ?' She paused, then said, 'Whenever I tell you a compliment or my feelings toward you, you'll have to trust me on it. You'll have to trust that if anything is wrong I'm gonna tell you, like I did today. And it's not because something needs to be fixed that I don't like or want you anymore okay ? You know I'm good at speaking my mind, it's no different here.'
Steven : 'I understand that, my feelings are another story. I didn't see it as not trusting you, it sounds like I'm - I'm not trying to disrespect you, I'm just -'
Layla: 'I know', she said softly, trying again to sound reassuring, 'that's not your intentions. I don't feel hurt by it, but I do feel - like I have to carry your feelings, if you get what I mean ?'
Steven : 'I think I do. I want to do everything you asked, I want to change. It's obvious that I - that how I've been behaving isn't making you happy...but I don't know if I'll be able to, I don't know if I can.'
Layla : 'It hasn't made me unhappy, not yet. That's why we're having this conversation, better safe than sorry right?'
Steven nodded
Layla: 'And I'm not asking you to change all that overnight, I only want you to give it your best try okay ? And I'll help. And you know, we've talked about a therapist before and...'
Steven : 'Yeah I'll, I'll get one. At least for me. I don't care what the others think about it at this point. We need a therapist. And if it's only me who uses the services, then so be it.'
Layla : 'It's gonna be beneficial I'm sure. You'll have someone to share your fears with.'
Steven : 'Even if I get help though, I'm not sure I'll be able to do everything you asked.'
Layla : 'Let's just take it one day at a time.'
.
.
**Later that day in their innerspace**
Steven told Marc about his conversation with Layla. Marc had some good advices to give, and some not-so-good ones, like :
Marc 'Do like me.'
Steven 'Repress my feelings ? I'm not able to do that !'
Marc 'No, not repress but... just don't- bring those things up with her. I got around the idea, well, I know she's gonna leave me. That's for sure. So, I try not to do anything to accelerate the process - well usually ...'
Steven : 'And talking about it would?'
Marc : 'Yeah, and...I have to - she wants me to open up more. Why I didn't before...it's not just that I'm not able to do it, it's that...that'd be something that would accelerate the process. If she...if she knew, everything that I've done, everything that I am, she'd see me for the monster I am.'
Steven : 'You're not a monster !'
Marc : 'Steven, you said it yourself'
Steven : 'I never said you were a monster !'
Marc : 'You didn't need to say the word, but you thought it didn't you? When you learned that I've...killed -'
Steven : 'I didn't know you back then, we've talked about this. And yes, you killed people, but you didn't kill any innocent, and you didn't take any pleasure in it. Is it still bad that you did those things ? Yes. But does it make you a monster ? No.'
Marc : '...'
Steven : 'She doesn't see you as a monster and she never will. Will she leave us? That I don't know, but I'm sure of one thing: she doesn't see you as a monster and neither do I.'
Marc : 'I really thought that would be it, after she learned what I did, that I let her father die, that I was responsible for -'
Steven : 'You couldn't have known he'd change his mind about killing those hostages'
Marc : 'Steven, it's Bushman, if you knew him...I knew what I was getting myself into I was just so damn stupid'
Steven : 'Marc...'
Steven closed the small distance between them and took him into his arms.
Steven, his head next to Marc's, said slowly : 'I'm going to get us a therapist'
Marc moved, as if he wanted to protest. Steven didn't give him the chance.
Steven : 'If you don't want to talk to them then don't. I don't care what you and Jake decide to do. I need it. I know you do too, but it's your choice.'
Marc : 'Okay '
.
.
**A few days later.**
It's Steven's turn to front again. He wanted to show Layla he could do it, be chill, not too clingy, not too insecure. Yes, he could do it.
Layla was still sleeping. He should keep himself busy, away from their bedroom. Yes. Why not finish one of the books he's started ?
An hour and 15 minutes later, Layla came down to the kitchen.
Layla : 'hi!'
Steven : 'Hello...Good - Good Morning!' Yes that's it, just a 'Good morning' nothing more.
He was seating in an armchair. He saw her move in the kitchen but the chair wasn't facing where she was. It's okay, he thought. He didn't have to fully see her, she was only getting breakfast. He should keep going on his reading and let her do her morning routine, yes.
For the next three hours, he felt her comings and goings in the apartment. He managed to not have more than a fifteen minute conversation with her. He would have congratulated himself if he'd been able to concentrate. He hadn't progressed in his reading at all, listening to the sounds she made in the apartment, resisting the urge to go see what she was doing, or talk to her or - she was busy. He was too. Or should be.
He felt her getting close to him.
Layla : 'How's it going ?'
Steven : 'Good, good, yes, good.' He replied, not able to hide his nervousness.
She rested her head against his.
Layla : 'What are you reading?'
Steven : 'oh it's hum Search for the Tomb of Osiris'
Layla : 'How is it ?'
Steven : 'oh it's, it's good ! Interesting yes! I - I haven't read much further than hum', he looked down at the book. The bookmark of the previous day had barely moved.
Layla took a few steps to stand in front of him, then crouched down to look at him, her brow furrowed.
Layla : 'You're sure you're OK?'
Steven : 'I- I am!'
Layla : 'So you haven't been staring at that page for an hour ?'
Steven : 'I- maybe. I promise I'm good- I'll be good, as you said it's a work in progress and I'm working on it !'
Layla : 'Okay I believe you'
She stood up and kissed his temple.
Layla : 'You're doing great.'
A small flutter of joy calmed his anxiety for a few seconds.
.
Layla came back in the living room half an hour later, putting a coat on.
Layla : 'I'm going out, I'll be back early evening. Will you still be there ?'
Steven jumped up. No no sit back down, sit back down.
Steven: 'Oh uh...you're going ?'
Don't say can I come with you, it's fine.
Layla : 'Yes, it's for work.'
Steven : '...cool'
She smiled fondly at him. He'd never said 'cool' before.
She asked if you'll be there when she'll be back, his thoughts reminded him. That meant 'will you still be fronting'.
Steven : 'oh and hum yes, I'll still be here tonight!'
Layla : 'Good, we could maybe watch something together when I'm back ?'
Steven : 'Yes! I mean...sure...why not?'
Her smile widened.
Layla : 'You're doing great', she said again, 'I won't be long.'
She kissed him on the cheek.
And with that, she walked to the door and left the apartment. Leaving him alone. With his thoughts.
.
.
** Around 5 PM the same day**
.
Layla : 'hi I'm back'
She heard a British voice respond : 'hey Layla !'
His speech was still hesitant, like he was measuring his words. He was really making a lot of efforts. She hoped it'd get easier for him with time.
She took her coat off. There was a delicious smell coming out of the kitchen. And a lingering smell of...cigarette. She swore she heard Steven's voice in the kitchen, maybe Jake had come by too while she was gone ?
Layla : 'Did Jake front today ?'
Steven : 'Oh, yes, only for a couple hours.'
So he did. She didn't know why he would have, it was Steven's day. Maybe it wasn't too important and she didn't need to ask.
She walked towards the kitchen.
Layla : 'How was your da - oh'
Steven was standing at the counter. The table was set, with what looked like a three course meal already ready to be eaten.
Steven, gesturing vaguely at what was on the table : 'I didn't do this for you, hum, I've finished my research on Osiris' tomb and I felt like cooking, for myself. Of course.'
Layla: 'And it just happened that your dinner was ready right when I came back ? And that you had enough for two ?', she said playfully.
Steven : 'Yes, a happy coincidence isn't it?' He responded with a similar tone.
Layla : 'Lucky me.'
She made her way to the refrigerator and opened it. The refrigerator was filled with Tupperware, freshly cooked food in each.
Layla : 'Wow, and what about all this ?'
Steven : 'oh, they're all for me too! It's for next week.'
Layla : 'You really felt like cooking today didn't you.'
Steven : 'I had nothing else to do so why not?' He tried for a nonchalant tone but didn't quite manage it.
Layla took one of the food containers out of the refrigerator.
Layla : 'Even this ?' She said, showing the plastic box with her favorite meal in it.
Steven : 'Of course it's for me. I've grown to like it. So don't touch.'
Layla: 'Hu-uh. So I can only take the leftovers if there's any left ?'
Steven : 'Exactly'
Layla : 'And if I were to - steal some of it ?'
Steven : 'You can try !' He said in fake defiance.
.
.
**A few weeks later**
.
Layla was reading quietly on the couch, legs against her chest.
Steven : 'Can I sit with you? Only for reading, of course.'
Layla looked up and gave him a beaming smile, patting the spot next to her on the couch : 'Come !'
Steven made sure to sit at the opposite end, mirroring her position, to leave a wide space between them.
They read in silence for a moment. He moved while they were both reading. His hand laid beside him on the couch without him realizing he'd put it there. He felt her hand squeeze his. He looked up in her direction. She just smiled in response. Her hand was still holding his. He could keep it there. They could hold hands while reading. He only had to get back to his book. She had. But he couldn't take his eyes away. She was so beautiful. The dim evening light coming from the nearest window made the side of her face shine, illuminating her freckles, her hair cascading on her shoulder.
Steven opened his mouth, he wanted to tell her again how much he loved her, how she was everything he could've ever asked for in a partner, how he'd do anything for her.
She turned her head towards him.
Layla : 'Yes ?'
Steven : 'I - uh - nothing.'
Layla : 'Nothing ?'
Steven : 'I've already told you this morning so I won't say it again today.'
She gave him her typical small but warm smile. Her finger caressing the top of his hand.
He needed to go back to reading.
He finally managed to turn his head back to his book.
Layla : 'I love you.'
Steven's head jerked back up.
Layla : 'I didn't say it today.' She had teasing sparkles in her eyes.
Steven : 'You are totally right.' He gave an exaggerated nod, smiling back at her.
This was a perfect evening.

I sometimes feel like ppl read too much into 2012 a bit, not in a bad way or anything that exactly what fandom does. We pick apart our fav media, looking for all the subtle hints and little interactions to feed our fave headcanons and canons.
But it's back to that Steven universe killing the diamonds conversation, this is a show predominantly written for 11 year Olds 😭 and not only that it's a show that put cool fight scenes first and treated emotions and relationship dynamics as an after thought. It was also literally made in a period of time when shows were kind of mean. That doesn't mean you can't enjoy it but it just means does nuances and stuff won't really be the main focus point of the show(which I also think it's an added bonus because it gives fans so many different ways to add that nuance themselves) and at the end of the day we all will leave with different interpretations since the show wasn't so firm in expressing the overall dynamics and pushed everyone aside to make Leo the main focus alot of the time.
Like for me, I couldn't stand how splinter treated Raph. I related most to Raph as a kid and found how Raph was treated by splinter infuriatingly similar to how my mother treated me and for Leo I personally thought he had it best compared to his brothers because he had the closest relationship to Splinter but when I asked my little sister about it she said that she thinks he has it worse because splinter basically used him as his personal therapist and used him to deal with his problems. I never thought of it like that and honestly thought the worst part of their relationship was that Splinter left Leo to be the leader of the group in and outside of missions but I learnt a new perspective and I didn't immediately refute it because I didn't see it at first.
And I really think this is one of the biggest problems with the 2012 discussion. We always try to put everything into black and white, neat little boxes with best little labels. But there is always a gray area and sometimes it might not even be grey it can be fucking pink. We need to respect eachothers interpretations of the relationships and try to not be too quick to bash eachothers interpretations to a pulp.
And sometimes we are too blinded by rises awesomeness that we don't find the need to pay attention to 2012's awesomeness too and only look at the negatives.
And in a tangent too many ppl refuse to give 2012 a chance😭😭 ppl are too ready to call it out but haven't watched it in years. They use 2012 to make rise brothers look better.
I'll be looking for a crossover fic between the two iterations and the only thing I'll find is ppl writing 2012 April and Raph(and sometimes Donnie) like literal demon spawns and it honestly makes me kind of sad like we could have used that opportunity to add like nuances to their characters but instead we write them so unnecessarily mean😭😭😭 like babes stoppppppppp I just want to see the brothers be besties not rise brothers adopt Mikey because 12 brothers are evil monsters that don't care about their baby brother.
Sorry if this is hard to follow, I'm really bad with writing stuff that aren't in bullet points lol. And even tho English is the only language I know doesn't mean I know how to do it well😭😭😭
But it's back to that Steven universe killing the diamonds conversation
LITERALLY DONT BRING UP STEVEN UNIVERSE I WILL GO INSANE AUHG I CANT STAND BAD STEVEN UNIVERSE OPINIONS THEY MAKE ME GO normal MODE.
It was also literally made in a period of time when shows were kind of mean.
this is really fuckin important to note actually. its very hard to watch a lot of shows from that era, like the cruelty is the point and the joke and it HURTS to see sometimes hah. like i'll see all the brothers be absolute pieces of shit to Casey and just go ??? am i supposed to laugh at this??? it's got Sitcom disease where everyone is awful on occasion for Bits and Gags or something haha.
i vibe with a lot of what you've said here. its making me think that once i watch 2012 i could try my hand at a crossover. idk tho, we'll see.
maybe they could all take turns adopting each other (translation: they should get along and coach each other through their emotional issues)
I liked the anecdote about your sisters opinion, i think thats a good way of lookin at shit.

This is the Buddy for November 6th. Not the handsomest of guys, I'm sure. A bit of a big forehead.
Speaking of big foreheads, I was listening to a podcast with James Urbaniak, and he mentioned he auditioned for Rainn Wilson's role in The Office. I don't know if that's true or not, since that 'cast was more of a series of fictional stories using his real name. But it'd be interesting to see Urbaniak in The Office.
Had that happened, though, I probably wouldn't have been a fan of his, since I'm all about The Venture Bros, it's the best show ever, I love it.
It's funny, but, although I'm a proper nerd who loves comics, manga, cartoons and movies, I never really enjoyed one of those long running narratives with an epic flavor that seem to be what a lot of works are aiming for. Venture Bros itself is probably the closest - a cartoon about a long war between two factions, involving multiple generations of characters, with character development taking the spotlight, and a central mystery personally related to the main characters that ties into the bigger conflict.
But unfortunately, the show was unceremoniously cancelled before a proper conclusion - even before it was officially cancelled, it felt like it was half-cancelled already since it took so long for seasons to come out. A movie came out after a while but it wrapped everything up in a rush, it wasn't an epic ending in and of itself.
And that's one of the things about epic stories - endings are always a bit off. If we're talking big worldbuild-y sagas, the biggest example of it is Game of Thrones, which seemingly cornered the market on disappointing endings. The Song of Ice and Fire book series seems to have gone on a different direction and just not end. Even if those planned last two (or three) books are ever published, everyone's already lost interest after the show did its own, clumsy version of the story.
The ending of Harry Potter, too, wasn't my favorite. To be honest, I think I grew out of it during the period between the publication of the last three books or so (and their plots all mix together in my mind). I never even finished the last few chapters of the Deathly Hallows one. And now there's that crappy prequel saga that's movie-only, seems like the story's completely jumped the shark.
A lot of shows try and go for the "myth arc" concept where the entire show is built up around one story with a main mystery and a supposed grand apotheosis in the finale. And it never works, does it? Lost kind of started the trend, and that show went nowhere. Purgatory stuff and whatnot, right? Those last few episodes of Steven Universe somehow pinned down all the bad stuff about the show, and made it obvious to everyone. Breaking Bad actually managed to do it, but that's not really a nerd show - it's a crime drama, and, yeah, a really good one, but it had a smaller scope. And even that has the prequel that doesn't capture lightning in a bottle like the original did.
Comics are a horse of a different color. There are great runs where one creator has a character in his hands to really explore an epic story, but often the story doesn't reach the end (I'm looking at you, Jack Kirby), or reaches the end but has to continue going with different, often less-talented creatives at the helm. Creator-owned comics are supposed to escape that fate, but they often have trouble being profitable enough to earn an ending, or end up being stretched thin because they're too profitable. Of course creator-owned work is usually a bit too alternative to fit the mold. One sad example is Astro City, which at first felt like a perfect superhero epic, but was abandoned due to writer Kurt Busiek's serious health problems. Poor guy.
The Marvel movies did a good job at it with the Thanos-era movies, but they had to keep going after the heroes beat the god of evil (after all, nobody burns down a money factory), and it all felt a bit like a long "cleaning up the rubble" session without Thanos, Iron Man and Captain America around. Even though some of my favorite movies in that series come after Infinity War, they're the best, mostly despite being part of the MCU, not because of it.
Which is probably why I often prefer shorter stories, as opposed to sprawling sagas. My favorite manga are usually 10 books long at most. Comic book limited series like Watchmen are also pretty memorable. It's also a lot easier to read something that's available as a single book, instead of five hundred issues scattered around different comic book shops - although that problem's not too relevant nowadays thanks to the internet and whatnot.
That's often an issue with entertainment. You usually keep going while the story's good, and once the quality drops, you end it. Like they say in the Dark Knight movies, you either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become a villain. And, funny, the Dark Knight, along Venture Brothers, is one of the few works that managed to escape that curse. It's not my favorite, but it's definitely not a disappointment. And there are some oddball stories that managed to feel epic and strike gold despite their long runs. The Invincible comic, for instance, and one of my favorite underdog webcomics, Doctor McNinja.
Figuring out good endings is one of the hardest stuff about writing, in my opinion.
