DP AU where Phantom feels no pain but any and all accumulated injuries hit him when Danny switches back to fenton (originally proposed by @paenling). Lovingly dubbed the Pain Train AU by The discord.

Okay so headcannons we have come up with:

-Danny avoids switching to Phantom at all costs. His drive to fight ghosts and protect Amity is still there, but he combats ghosts using teamwork with Sam/Tucker, modified gadgets and a lot of improvisation - He only ever switches to Phantom as a final resort. When he does, he milks it for all its worth before he has to switch back after a battle and the pain hits - As a result, Phantom form is extra powerful because excess energy isn't shed through regular use and some ghostly attributes bleed over to his human form - his eyes seem to glow a green tinge and he has a white streak in his hair ever since the accident. He ends up looking hella ecto-contaminated - Because he can't fight like he does in canon (essentially just throwing himself at an enemy until something sticks), his fighting style is a lot more strategic. He uses weapons/gear he steals from his parents that he modifies and as many ghost powers as he can manifest in human form - Sam serves as a secondary fighter, but usually leaves the heavy hitting to Danny. She helps with planning and often sets up traps to help catch ghosts. Tucker, as always, works as the tech guy but also is the team medic. Together, the trio work as a ghost fighting crew and have backup plans in place whenever Danny is out of commission - Danny usually wears a face covering when fighting and an inverted sweatshirt, but the trio's ghost fighting is kinda an open secret at Casper High. Who the fuck else has hair like that? - His Phantom identity is something much less well known because it's much more monstrous looking and is rarely seen ever. He's more of Amity's local friendly Cryptid than it's superhero

- When he switches back for the first time, he finally realizes the scope of his situation. Sam and Tucker thought he was dying for real the first time he switches over. After that, he learns very quickly to avoid using Phantom form

- As a result of the combination of how powerful Phantom is when he does switch over and the pain he experiences every time he switches over, he quickly comes to resent Phantom and associate the destruction and pain with ghosts as a whole

-Lotta self loathing here. Sorry not sorry

- Surprisingly, it's Vlad, who's in the same situation who shows him that his ghost form isn't an inherent evil

- The other ghosts get in on this action and show him the little, enjoyable things about being a ghosts

- His friends and sister help him slowly change his mindset about Phantom after that. They never saw Phantom as a force of evil, unlike Danny

Danny and Damian are twins but they never get split up. Their life growing up in the league of assassins was rough and unforgiving. Damian was older by a few minutes but Danny was always seen as the lesser twin in Ras eyes. Danny is seen more as a tool to improve the heir instead of his twin. Talia eventually has enough of one of her babies being seen as inferior and she takes both of them to their dad, Bruce Wayne when they turn 10. They become the Robin twins and train under Batman.

4 years go by and Jason is visiting the manor talking about how his new neighbor Jasmine Fenton (He totally has had parents that had a lab and sounded like they were very close to becoming rouges especially since they’re apparently building a portal to another dimension. They decided to raid the house and investigate the lab. Red Robin and Batman were investigating the computer and files. And both Danny and Damian were investigating the giant hole in the wall. Damian is looking at the circuit board panel on the wall and Danny investigated the giant hole in the wall. Oh no he tripped.

Part 2 of the House of Elle series is here!

It was those moments just before Tim left that stuck out in his mind the most. Draping the homemade quilt over Kon and Jane. Gently brushing the little girl’s wild, dark curls back from her face. Pressing a soft kiss to Kon’s forehead. The warmth that had burned in his chest as he just stood there for a beat and looked at them, peaceful for the first time in weeks. He imagined a world maybe not so far away where the two fell asleep like that on a different couch in a cozy living room, worn out from a happy day spent at the beach or the park or anywhere else they found joy and excitement. Where Tim was right there with them, helping to tuck the little girl safely between himself and Kon where no one could hurt her. - Elle tries to keep up the ruse of being a Kryptonian while trying to figure out a way back to her Grave with mixed results. People keep asking her questions she can't answer, Tim and Kon are way too nice to keep lying to and the world seems to have become an ectoplasmic wasteland. With her Core acting strangely and something dangerous looming on the horizon, Elle's quickly running out of time. It'll all be okay though, once she gets back to Amity Park and find Danny. She just has to get back.

I am guessing when Sanji comes to and finds Nami, Lil' Lucky and Lizard missing. He's gonna commit crimes. War crimes to be specific.

Definitely, but first he has to take a bunch of pictures of his baby in her flower girl dress because she looks absolutely precious! He isn't even simping over Nami in a wedding gown at first because he's too caught up in fawning over Lil' Lucky.

After he's gotten enough pictures (easily in the triple digits), he hands Lucky to Lizard and asks them to step aside while he saves Nami. He might even succeed in this AU because he isn't about to get distracted and go off on a tangent about using the clear-clear fruit to spy on naked women right in front of two children. Being a dad has given him some much needed class in that respect.

A concept for Danny’s overcharged Phantom form from Pain Train AU (as conceived in ye olde Phandom discord and described in some more detail here).

In short: Phantom feels no pain, but his accumulated injuries hit him all at once like a freight train whenever he turns back into Fenton. As a result, Danny rarely transforms, and the buildup of excess energy means he’s Extra Ghostly and cryptidlike. Someday I’ll make a masterdoc of things about this AU, but today is not that day.

The theory that it's Future!Emmet who's possessing emmet means that Future!Emmet got so off rails that he no longer ACTS like himself : he lost himself completely, not even his own brother recognize him. Daigo couldn't help but feel a sense of dread as he was brought before the prison officials. He was a free man — if the courts were to be believed — but the level of paperwork and administrative approval needed to truly release him had already delayed the process by a full day. The Chairman did not think he could bear another disappointment, so he kept his expectations low ( though his head remained as high as ever ).

Eventually, however, Daigo felt the general mood shift. A guard unlocked the shackles binding him to his chair and walked him to a small, colorless room. Inside, the garments he had worn the day he was arrested sat waiting for him. His personal affects were there as well ; the yakuza's wallet, watch, and cigarettes had been stacked neatly beside his dark suit. Daigo frowned thoughtfully. He remained skeptical until the same man removed his wrist restraints and gestured toward Daigo's things. After, the guard left, closing the door with a snap.

The Chairman massaged his hands, rolled his shoulders, and blew out a long breath. A bit of tentative hope needled its way into his heart. Quietly, he picked up his wallet. Daigo rifled through it, looking for the most important item he always carried : his wife's old hostess card from Shine, poorly laminated and faded. At that, some of the remaining tension in Daigo's body dissipated. He didn't care that the cash was gone. Everything he kept in his pockets normally was replaceable — except for that.

Daigo changed slowly, growing accustomed to the new fabrics on his tired body. He smiled thinly at the realization of how much weight he had lost. The yakuza was still formidable to look at, but the looseness in the sleeves of his well - tailored shirt and jacket confirmed what he had suspected. Once he was finished dressing, the Chairman scratched as his full beard and ran his fingers through his hair. It was all too long, coarse, and messy.

Soon, the guard came to retrieve him, and the rest of the process was a blur. Daigo inevitably gave in to his growing excitement. He wanted nothing more than to kiss his wife and hold his children. Hikari would seem like an entirely different baby after his time away. Daigo wondered if she would remember him. She had been so small when he left, so new to the world ; under his breath, he cursed the powers responsible for robbing of his chance to see her first months.

The yakuza walked out of the prison with long, confident steps ; unfortunately, they faltered a short distance away from the exit. Daigo saw the shapes of a car and a person ahead of him, but his eyes were too pained by the daylight to focus. He stopped, closed them, and raised a hand instinctively to shield his face. Beneath the shadow of his limb, his handsome features looked drawn and exhausted. For a moment, Daigo was not aware of who approached him — only that he was free and that he needed to conquer this demon if he was going to return to his home.

No time for snuggles, we ride the avoidance train now! It's not that they couldn't see each other, they just know what's to come when they do. So they postopone and postpone... but we all know the outcome is inevitable. It's what they've been working towards all this time, right?

I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the AU! :D The strip that went up today is part 2 of a (checks notes) 10 part story. The number may change and I have no idea how long it'll take to get there but hopefully eventually! (Part 3 is already scheduled in two weeks.)
