The think pieces I could write on how Falin’s first appearance as a chimera- with her elegantly settling down onto the ground while simultaneously crushing one of Kabru’s team members beneath him is metaphorical of the worship and image Marcille (as well as Laios) has of Falin no matter the circumstances.

It’s near biblical the way they perceive her under desperation to have her back. Obviously they both love and admire her but it’s so easy to see when Falin falls into being a little sister or silly friend to either of them when they’re safe and comfortable, but the way they truly see her is so real. She’s graceful, gentle, flawless in every moment. Hell even as she’s murdering people Marcille says that Falin is just confused. Kabru tells her that she doesn’t care how many people would die if it meant she got to save Falin and he’s right. All her sins are absolved under what she means to them.

To Marcille and Laios to even be near Falin is a grace unparalleled, to be in her presence and acknowledged by her is divinity and nothing else compares. They are elevated only by the privilege of loving her in the ways they do and the privilege of being able to protect her.

Anything less is a failure to the love she so generously, selflessly provides.

I feel like I'm going insane reading all the terrible information coming out of the currently on-going trial of the alleged murderers of Brianna Ghey, a transgender teenager who was murdered here in the UK several months ago, some of the most bleak shit imaginable, allegations of months and months of attempts to poison Brianna (and then finally resorting to stabbing her multiple times), very explicit transphobia in a lot of the leaked transcripts (including Boy X, the male teenage alleged murderer, writing that he wanted to see if Brianna screamed like a man or a woman) juxtaposed against TERFs and general transphobes rushing like vultures to a rotting carcass to "correct" journalists who are using she/her pronouns for Brianna, turning themselves inside out to try and make excuses for murder (I know a lot of autistic people fyi, and they don't horrifically murder trans people or anyone lol), and making sure to remind everyone that the killing had nothing to do with transphobia (because it was never explictly charged as a hate crime), not at all, the alleged murderers of Brianna were just looking for some rando to kill. Like.....are you all collectively hallucinating a scenario where YOU look like the morally decent people in a situation where you are bending over backwards to diminish the brutal death of a 16 year old? Even if it could be proved 100% that transphobia played no part in Brianna's death, you still look like freaks. Seriously.

If you can even make the horrific murder of a teenager all about you and your foulness, you are very very sick.

Also, also, Fontaine's AQ is hands-down my favorite out of all of them.

Focalors (and Furina) is immensely well-written and I'm so, very insanely impressed with Hoyo's writing for her. Holy shit. Also, the fact this happened in the region that's inspired by France and Britain to some extent? Of course, why wouldn't it? But also, the light foreshadowing from previous nations, the continuous and built-on talk of sacrifice for humanity, for the sovereigns? But even on top of that, we're in the nation of hydro. Cryo is obviously the element that pulls on the heartstrings because of obvious characters like Wriothesley and Kaeya, but has no one ever looked at the hydro characters? Dedication and devotion, responsibility, selflessness, and even-sacrifice, they all stand at the very core of each character. Meshing that in with the inspiration used for the nation, the foreshadowing from especially Sumeru— self-sacrifice was kind of in the cards all along.

But honestly, in terms of execution? Chef's kiss, chef's kiss.
