Friendly reminder also that when "The 5 Love Languages" started getting mainstream attention, whole ass parts of the book were taken out or edited to filth because of just HOW misogynistic the book was (and this was in the late 90s and early 00s, so you know it had to be bad).

Now you'd think an animated movie that spews pop culture refs would be cringe, yet somehow it really works in TMNT: Mutant Mayhem's favor.

Resources
Mystic Mysfits Resources
Together with my husband and our friends we have been compiling a list of our resources on magic and witchcraft, as well as a list of red flags and conspiracies to watch out for. We also have links to shops for supplies!
Not every source on this page is perfect but this is to at least serve at a jump off point. This is still very much a work in progress. We are trying to cover as many bases as we can, however, not everything is included (if you have something you'd like to add PLEASE let us know!)
The website is crunchy because we don't have a domain, but feel to browse around (the services and products are also available), and if something is GLARINGLY WRONG don't be afraid to message me on here or through the website with your source!

so i gave in and started binging riverdale on netflix while i was sick last week. i knew it contained a lot of weird references that wouldn't land with any actual teen audience but this one stands out as the oddest.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
every other media reference/homage seems to be about noir, horror (both gothic and slasher), prisons and murder, and general themes of dark americana, then they throw in one for a weepy british period drama about women's healthcare where the only commonality with the setting of riverdale is proximity to old nuns.
