more clone^2 thoughts
you know who i just remembered ALSO has long hair? Vlad. Vlad Masters. Danny's worst enemy and biggest pain in the ass ever since he sent those vulture ghosts after his fucking dAD. Danny having long hair would make Vlad so inSUFFERABLE. Like look!! Proof that you are much better off as MY son. We have matching hair lengths! Come be my son! I will make you a halfa like me and we will become powerful allies together!
Danny almost chops it off out of spite. He ends up not doing it because he likes his hair long, actually, very much so and he's not growing it out again just because you're crazy! He's attempted to take a pair of scissors to Vlad's hair though -- THAT was a fight that got ugly. Danny's go-to threat whenever he sees him after that is that he's going to chop off vlad's hair when he's not looking - just you watch, Masters. He'll do it. HE'LL DO IT.
And if Danny wasn't keeping it a tight secret, he'd turn around and taunt Vlad about being a) a clone and b) a clone of BRUCE WAYNE. he'd say stuff like:
"How's it feel knowing my parents cloned a man richer than you"
"you're just mad that bruce wayne is more my dad than you'll ever be!"
"it could've been you that my parents accidentally cloned instead of Wayne, but instead you fucked off for twenty years instead!"
but also its a constant question Danny asks himself how he and no one else ever figured it out sooner that he was a clone. He doesn't understand how Vlad of all people didn't realize it when he went to college with the man with his parents and was also stinking rich, before remembering that he doubts Vlad remembers anyone who wasn't his parents in college, and has been a rich, recluse loser this entire time.
its a good thing though, danny's pretty sure vlad would attempt a hit on the man if he found out out of pure jealousy and indignant rage. And then he'd get his ass beat by Batman and his army of children.
All in all, Dany is a pure menace towards Vlad whenever he gets the chance, as is normal, and then Vlad's suffering gets doubled after he makes Ellie - of which she is even worse than Danny because she's the halfa that Danny Is NOt and thus has the powers to break into his house easy peasy and wreck shit. She steals his obsidian black card and goes on a shopping spree. This is a regular occurrence.
(and for anyone who isn't aware - Ellie is the same age as Danny in clone^2 bc i thought it'd be fun)
And then it gets tripled once Damian joins the family and gets caught up to speed on all of Vlad's tomfoolery and whoops, Damian's got better stealth skills than Danny and looks like Ellie has a partner in crime whenever they need to sneak into vlad's house to cause him grief.
Vlad's walls are the first canvas for Damian to test out his new spray paints on once he gets them :)
next up
Wes weston! i love this guy, he's so funny and he definitely knows danny is the Phantom in the clone^2 au. it's not as easy to figure out as it is in canon since its not just a simple colorswap, but perhaps he sees Danny taking off his mask after a daytime fight. and after that he becomes determined to reveal that quiet, strange fenton is the vigilante phantom.
he's putting some real,,, detectiveness? stalkerish? skills to use because catching photos of phantom is not as easy as it is if he were a halfa. He can't just snap a few dozen photos of fenton and phantom and then color compare the two of them either - Phantom wears a mask, and works primarily at night or in evenings, and typically avoids the living during the day. And he doesn't speak to the living either. Wes has to put in some extra work into his investigations and evidence.
He also makes the dumb mistake of cornering Danny in the bathroom one day early on and telling him he knows he's the Phantom -- now that Danny knows that Wes knows, he's going to be even more careful not to get caught. He puts in a little extra work in both Fenton and Phantom - another layer, perhaps a jacket, as Phantom, and baggier pants and boots he never wears as Fenton. His hood stays up in the daytime.
He was already putting in some extra effort to appear creepy and unsettling as Phantom - things like crouching low, tense movements, fluid movements. If he's perched on something he does a kinda-crawl like movement - think a mix between a bear and a gorilla crawl. It's weird, creepy. And he stares. Danny's mastered the art of not needing to blink for long periods of time, so if he sees you and sticks around he stares. It doesn't help that you can't see his eyes that well through his mask - its just two piercing green.
It helps endear him to ghosts and his enemies though - the annoying little human boy is engaging in ghost culture! That's eliciting some form of begrudging respect from his enemies.
And then compare that creepy, almost cryptid-like behavior to Fenton who, while considered a freak, really isn't anything more than just some dorky weirdo with occasional heart problems. He's kinda unsettling - he has those 'stares into soul' eyes - but its leveled by the fact that he's kinda just... dorky. It reads as normal, awkward kid behavior, and then gets disregarded completely as he gets older and it bleeds into 'very chill teenager'. Fenton being Phantom doesn't compute that much.
Paulina: you think Phantom is Fenton? Wes: I don't think, I know he is! I have proof-- Star: Just because they both have black hair doesn't mean they're the same, Wes. That's like saying Paulina and Manson are sisters because they also have black hair.
Wes's attempts to out him as Phantom means that Danny is a little more wary of him than he is in canon, since his vigilante identity isn't an entirely different ghost form its just him, so he has to be careful about where or when he takes off his mask in case Wes is around. Especially during daytime fights.
But other than that he has a lot of time messing with him. Wes is trying to convince his table group at lunch that Fenton = Phantom (again) and Danny just so happens to be within earshot of him and starts making fun of the idea.
"You think I'm Phantom?" and he's got the most disbelieving grin on his face that's only partially convincing. "That's totally bogus, man. The Phantom famously doesn't get along with my parents, why would I be a ghost hunter and not work with them?"
He has this most shit-eating, delighted look in his eyes that Wes knows is pure manic glee at being able to mess with him and get away with it. Wes is going to strangle him.
"Besides, dude, did you forget I have a heart condition? I can't be chasing around ghosts - my heart would give out from all that running and jumping."
Although Danny can get really serious at the flip of a coin if need be - especially with Wes when he gets too pushy about him being Phantom. A notable instance is when Wes cornered him in an empty bathroom to again talk about him being Phantom.
Except Danny, who had been working on a really difficult cold case about the death of a child, and hadn't gotten much sleep in the last 72 hours, plus a plethora of other stuff (like recently acquiring Damian, fighting ghosts, etc), wasn't in the mood to entertain him. It ended with Weston getting pinned to the wall and lowkey threatened by Danny. He apologizes for it afterwards but it's not forgotten.
Additional note: Wes Weston having a crush on Danny Fenton is a hilarious trope to me so Wes absolutely has a crush on Danny and the only one in denial about it is him. Everyone else - except Danny because he's more focused on the fact that Wes knows his identity, and has other things to worry about - knows about it, and everyone chalks up his obsession with Danny as being part of said crush.
Wes' friend: you know usually when you have a crush on someone you normally confess, maybe ask them out, pine from afar....
Wes: i dont--
Wes's friend: not accuse him of being the local ghost-fighting vigilante. Seriously, wes! His parents are ghost hunters!
Wes: i do not have a crush
Wes's friend: and ghosts aren't real! everyone knows that's a lie!
next up
Dan! Or Dante, but i'll call him Dan for the time being. Even if I dislike the name with a passion. Much like Wrath from my Childhood Friends au, Dan here is pretty different from his canon counterpart. Mostly because I wanted to experiment with Dan and different interpretations of him, and I thought; hey, where no better than an au where Danny has no powers?
so, dan? Dan is not a combination of Danny and Vlad's ghost halves -- now, don't get me wrong, danny still ends up under vlad's custody care after the death of his family, but he just doesn't fuse with Vlad's ghost.
So, what happened? What happened is that Vlad convinces a grieving Danny that he should let him make him a halfa (despite the fact that he has no idea how) because the he could go find his family in the ghost zone. Danny is in no mental state for any kind of experiments, but his hope and want to see his family and friends again gets him to agree.
It backfires. Vlad doesn't make Danny a halfa, he just ends up killing him completely. Danny comes back instantly as a ghost however, and enraged over being lied to, betrayed, and murdered, ends up killing Vlad in furious cold blood. He doesn't fuse with his ghost half, there's no ghost half to fuse with.
So a grieving ghost, Danny flees into the ghost zone. And, in this iteration, doesn't end up destroying the world. So how does TUE end up happening? Well, ten years later - with Danny remaining a forever 14 year old ghost - Dan ends up finding out about time travel. He finds out a way to travel back into the past, and he does.
So he can take over his past self's life. Danny just thinks he's fighting a weird doppleganger ghost, but ends up getting overshadowed. It's like being in a weird limbo, and Danny's not really sure what's happening - but his friends figure something out. After all, its been ten years since dan saw his friends, something has to give.
And that episode happens. Danny ends up meeting clockworth, beats Dan. But, well, it's not really happily ever after - somewhat. Ehh.. sorta. Danny's been traumatized by Dan's overshadowing - making him realize that despite everything, there are things ghosts can do that danny simply cannot and he needs to prepare for it. Onset paranoia, anyone?
Dan tells them his whole tragic backstory - there's a chance for redemption here, for him. For forgiveness. Not immediately, not yet, but its there. And he doesn't want to go back to the future - he's alone there. He's tired of being alone.
But he ends up being convinced - he needs to learn to look forward, not cling back. He can build himself up again, find new family. He doesn't have to be alone. So Dan goes back to the future.
"But come tell me if Vlad's giving you trouble --" and he smiles something wicked, "I'd be happy to handle him again"
and finally
not so much as any concrete thoughts as it is just me being emotional over Danny and Damian's brotherhood in this au and also Danny's hands. Again.
lIKE.. I put it in the tags of my reblog of my "danny's scarred hands' ficlet but im putting it here and its just?? Danny grabbing the blade of Damian's sword. Him grabbing the sword multiple times despite the fact that he knows it will hurt, that he will hurt himself. That he will keep hurting himself until Damian himself stops.
its just like??? whats it mean to spill your own blood just so that this little boy you've just met won’t have to ever again. he doesn't know any english and he is hurting you and yet you take him home and get him new clothes. he runs away and you go looking for him, every single time. you teach yourself arabic first so that you can converse with him.
this boy is a clone and so are you. you're a clone of his father he's a clone of your son - by nature of your existence this is your child. except its not your child, you don't have one, its just a little boy who happens to share the same dna as you. and you take him home and he becomes your little brother.
what's it mean when its you whose been hurt rather than him? whats it mean when you’d hurt yourself again just so that he can start to heal, so that he knows that he’s worth it? you cut your hands on his blade, catch its swing, just so this boy can know, can learn, that there’s someone who will bleed for him. that there's someone who will scar their hands just to make sure that you wont scar yours.
you’re a bleeding heart and its spilling out onto your palms. you take bloody fingers and wrap it around your little brother’s and say "its okay. it’s okay. you’re safe. no one will hurt you here. i promise. i wont let them. no one will hurt you so long as i'm around."
"put the sword down. i can show you how. let me show you how."
and damian in this au just reminds me of the song "eight" by sleeping at last. like?? the lYRICS. he is sO "eight" coded
'show me how to lay my sword down for long enough to let you through.' 'here i am. pry me open. what do you want to know?' 'im just a kid who grew up scared enough to hold the door shut and bury my innocence' 'but here's a map. here's a shovel. here's my achilles' heel. im all in palms out. im at your mercy now and im ready to begin. i am strong enough to let you in.'
Tumblr media
"by nature of our existence we are father and son, but by choice we are brothers. we are brothers we are brothers we are brothers. and i love you"
#dpxdc#dp x dc#dp x dc crossover#dpxdc crossover#dpdc#clone^2#danny fenton is not the ghost king#dp dc#dp dc crossover#dpxdc au#dpdc au#ITS JUST. THEM. IM SORRY BUT ITS THEM AND I LOVE THEM.#damian's guilt of hurting danny and the consistent conversations they have from that. danny always tells damian he forgives him.#'i hurt you' 'i know' 'im sorry' 'i know'#'one day i hope you forgive yourself just as much as i have forgiven you.' 'repeat after me: its not your fault'#'youre my brother and i hurt you and im sorry. i love you.'#i should get around to making a post about the batfam meeting them but i just!!! I love damian and danny i love their dynamic#and i know that i was the one who decided that its years before they meet the batfam after meeting each other but its still just a choice#that im stil so happy about because they become brothers! they meet the batfam and they're expecting baby damian to be like how damian was#when he arrived in the manor but he's not. he's not. he wears funny graphic tees and his older brother is bruce's clone and its so clear#that they love each other. bby dames steals his brother's flannels and gets chased around by him. and they roughhouse like brothers do#and his older brother is bruce's clone and he throws damian over his shoulders and calls him 'dames' and 'dami' and 'my boy' and its so#so obvious that this clone of bruce utterly adores damian.#and i had the idea before writing this that damian's first english word is 'star' and he turns to danny and calls him star when he wants#his attention for something. he points at him and says 'star' and he doesn't do that much anymore now that he knows english#but its one of the first signs of him trusting danny when he first arrived.

Stately Wayne Manor -as it appears in my Bat Family AU -Redo
So it turns out that long galleries don't quite work the way I thought they did. it turns out, they usually only cover one side of the house rather than wrapping all the way around. In my defense, I have never been in a manor or mansion in my life. With this new knowledge, I have redesigned the Manor so more rooms get windows. I also had to shuffle some rooms around and even add a few because just making rooms bigger to fill in the extra space was going to make them ridiculously huge (as if half weren't already). The gym, library, theater, arcade, and kitchen are bigger as well though. Overall, I like this design better than the first.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The stairs in the kitchen go down to the cellar (not shown), which has a root cellar, wine cellar, vault, and survival bunker. I didn't redo the attic since it's just the one chimney that would be moved, so just pretend it's to the right a little more.
I thought Jason should have the office with windows due to his time on the streets and being beaten and blown up while trapped in a warehouse before waking up in a coffin buried underground. I figure he'd like to have an extra exit available. Plus, it's not like Bruce and Tim are used getting sunlight and it made sense for Alfred to be closer to both Bruce's office (since he's his valet) and the classroom (in case the kids needs schooling).

The Haunting of Sleep Manor (Sleep Token Haunted House AU)
Tumblr media
very very excited to start sharing this series!! the first chapter will be posted by the end of this week (hopefully tomorrow). i've been having a lot of fun writing it, so here's a little teaser 👻🖤
edit: Chapter I can be found over here or on ao3 if you prefer!
Tumblr media
They didn’t have much in the way of worldly possessions, so all of their belongings packed neatly into one moving truck. The four vessels of Sleep squished together in the cab as they barreled down the quiet country road. Vessel was humming along to the radio, II lightly drumming along with his fingers against his thigh. IV’s mind had wandered off, his eyes slightly glazed over as he took in the passing scenery, III snoring against his shoulder. At last, they could see the wrought iron gates of Langley Manor, their new home looming at the end of the drive beyond. Vessel veered off the road, pulling up to the gates and shifting the truck into park, causing III to stir from his slumber.
Vessel hopped out of the driver’s door, unlocking the padlock with one of the many keys from the keyring he’d received from the realtor’s office the day before. The old house came with a ridiculous number of keys, he couldn’t even begin to imagine the various secrets it had locked away. Sleep wouldn’t have selected just any home, he was sure there was something more to this place than meets the eye. He pushed the gates open at last, quickly making his way back to the truck. The gravel driveway crunched beneath the tires as they neared Langley Manor, the vast expanse of land that came with the home sprawling out in luscious greens behind it. Vessel could hardly believe that he was finally here, that any of this was real. But the excited chatter from the others indicated to him that not only was it very real, it was just as amazing as he’d imagined it to be.

Forget me (not)
Aymeric was very inquisitive but polite about the manor and it's disrepair. She answered as best and as convincingly as she possibly could. "Please, warm yourself by the fire, I will go fetch some blankets and dry clothes." she smiled and escaped.
Tumblr media
"Gods, what was I thinking?" she cursed, wandering the dimly lit corridors "I could have just hidden and waited until he left." no point in lamenting now. Carrying on to the main bedroom where she resided most of the time. She found some clothes that looked suitable for an elezen. She kept things clean enough, rotating through the wardrobe, so she wasn't stuck in the same outfit all the time.
Tumblr media
Grabbing a blanket she slowly made her way back to the room. She found Aymeric just pulling his shirt off as she entered the room. "I am so sorry!" she screeched and hid between the door frame. "I-I..erm..I shall leave these here for you-"
Aymeric chuckled "I didn't mean to startle you. You needn't stand there.." Mizuki nervously entered the room keeping her eyes averted and handing him the blanket and clothes. His fingers touched hers as he accepted the clothes. "Thank you for you hospitality."
"Sorry it isn't more.." she mumbled, spotting his armour, which gave her an excuse to not focus on him as he changed. "You're quite out the way-"
"aye, we were sent on a hunt but the fog around these parts is unrelenting and I lost my way."
Mizuki joined him by the fire and listened to his tales. Thankfully it wasn't Mizuki he and his knights were looking for, so that was a weight of her shoulders. "I should let you rest. Sleep well ser knight." she smiled and exited the room.
Tumblr media
As she returned to her room. Something nagged at her, if Aymeric reunited with his knights and he spoke of this encounter, that could wind up in the ears of the hunters... she had to leave.
Tumblr media
"I was just beginning to get used to this place." she sighed, looking at the broken mirror which simply distorted her face: I look hideous...what a monster...
"It was nice to converse with someone... he had a beautiful voice..he was very handsome too.. and kind.."
Tumblr media
"I won't be seeing him again..." she whispered into the darkness "I shall be just a fleeting memory..if that.."
Mizuki knew she couldn't delay. She had to leave. What choice did she have?
Farewell Ser Knight. Thank you for the brief moment of kindness.

good luck with the sleeping schedule bluie!!! here is a ficlet for when u wake up lol (sorry it got long) --------------
"You have to help me," the young man whispered, his words hissed out with weighty intention.
Mumbo recognized the emphasis; he was trying to cast a spell. It did nothing to quell the anxious knot forming in his stomach, nor did it even work, but it told him a few things.
One, this person had magic. Two, his magic wasn't working. Three, he wasn't above using magic to get what he wanted. What an incredibly safe person to be around!
Not.
But there were other things about him too: his hair was shaggy and uneven, his face thin and gaunt along with the rest of his body, and there was a tremble about him, that every fiber of his being was itching to run the second he had the chance.
"Why should I?" Mumbo whispered back, eyeing the bedroom door every few seconds. This was insanity, he was a guest in the house of an elf, to be harboring a stranger in his bedroom that moments ago was bolting down the hallway in the middle of the night had to be the height of inappropriate behavior.
"Scar is lying to you," the man said, deathly serious. "He's going to keep you prisoner."
Mumbo shook his head in disbelief. "Do you really expect me to believe that? Scar has been nothing but kind to me, and I don't even know who you are! This is outrageous, I'm telling him—"
He tried to step around the stranger, who darted back in front of him. "Just let me explain! Please, we can't have much time left, and what do you have lose listening to the ravings of a crazy person?" When Mumbo didn't budge, the man carried on, "I'll tell you my side, and if you still think I'm crazy I'll turn myself over to Scar personally."
The stranger made a fair point. What did Mumbo have to lose?
With a small nod, the stranger stepped back with a relieved sigh. "God, thank you. Thank you."
"Make it quick," Mumbo muttered, glancing at the door again.
"Right. Hello, my name is Grian," he said quickly, "and I was like you once. You traveled alongside the mountain range when a snowstorm was about to hit, right?"
When Mumbo nodded again, Grian's jaw tightened. "A snowstorm is always 'about to hit' around here. When I was traveling, it was late June and clouds still rolled overhead. But you can't hear the storm at all, can you?"
They listened out, and surely enough, the manor was silent, as though they were the only two people breathing in the home. Mumbo's stomach churned again.
"He brought me home with him," Grian continued, "by offering his hand. He took my coat, and gave me dinner, and we spent all night by the fireplace, talking about so many things. If I'd had the time, I probably would've spent a few days more with him."
There was a guilty look in Grian's eyes. "It's part of his game. He makes himself out to be such a worldly person, you could talk to him forever. You don't want to stop, because he makes you feel heard, and laugh, and it's as though the outside world ceases to exist. There's a magic in his words, and in this place that's lethal to humans."
Mumbo hesitated. "…This isn't the real world, is it?"
Grian pinched his lips together. "He's not an elf, either."
There's a gentle knock on the bedroom door, and Grian yelped, bolting behind Mumbo. "He's fae," Grian whispered hastily. "He's a fae and he wants a mate, someone to play with. He goes after human travelers, makes them into fae too, and keeps them here like trophies of war."
"How long have you been here?" Mumbo whispered, the knocking growing slightly louder.
"Five years. Five. Years." With a grit of his teeth, "I've seen mates come here to die, I've seen them disobey one too many times and suffer the consequences. I used to listen, because I thought eventually he would let me go, but he just thinks I'm falling in love with him and holds on even tighter. Tonight was my one chance, and I've ruined it, god…" There was a muttered curse under his breath, and Grian grabbed tight onto Mumbo's arm when the knocking echoed again.
"Lock the door," Grian hissed. "Freeze it or something, spell it shut."
"Why don't you do it?" Mumbo hissed back.
Grian glared up at him, and Mumbo could see magic sparking in his eyes that kept dying down. "I'm his pet, remember? He's ordered me to not use magic. I can't."
There wasn't a difference to be made in who cast the spell, however, because they were both too late. The was a whispering on the other side of the door, and the deadbolt unlocked.
"Well, hello there," Scar said with a smile, slowly opening the door. "I didn't expect you two to meet just yet, but I suppose it was only a matter of time."
"Although," Scar's smile wavered, "I don't think barging into Mumbo's bedroom is all that nice of you. Why don't you go off to bed now, Grian? Wait for me."
If Grian's words earlier had been heavy with magical intention, Scar's were woven with it, as though there were no difference in those that were spelled and those that weren't. Grian averted his eyes, though from fear or rage was hard to tell.
He walked quietly out of the room, and Scar turned his attention back to Mumbo.
"I hope he didn't startle you," Scar said, stepping forward and shutting the bedroom door behind himself.
Mumbo took a step back, his expression stiff and cold. "I don't want to be rude," he said carefully, "but I don't think you've been an honest host. Why don't I take a quiet exit, and we forget this ever happened?"
Scar blinked, his smile turning naive. "Forget what happened?"
Mumbo's relief only lasted a moment. "Nothing, nothing at all! I'll just pack my things—"
"Oh, right, you trying to run away from me, that," Scar laughed. "That was a good try, I have to admit, but it's going to take more than some paltry human magic to make me forget you. As a matter of fact, I don't know that you need that magic down here anyways."
Scar wasn't spelling him yet. He was giving Mumbo a choice. Obedience, or forced submission. Either way, it was implied he was staying.
"See, it makes sense to agree," Mumbo said, slowly nodding along. He bit his tongue, praying that what he was about to do wasn't the stupidest thing ever.
"But I don't want to be trapped in a cage," Mumbo said, bracing himself as the bedroom door behind Scar crumbled to dust, and he bolted around him, making a mad dash around random corners of the manor.
He didn't know where was front from back, what was an exit or what was a dead end, but if he kept moving, maybe Scar would give up the chase eventually.
Unfortunately, Scar didn't need to chase after Mumbo himself. He was disappointed as he walked towards Grian's bedroom, a wilted look to him. There was so much promise in this new pet, but then again, he thought Grian was perfect once upon a time too.
Humans were inherently flawed, but enough time here would eradicate those imperfections.
"Grian," Scar said, opening the bedroom door to see the human sitting stiffly on the bed, waiting. "Our new friend isn't following the rules. Why don't you go get him for me?"
Against his will, Grian stood up, walking swiftly out the door. Scar stopped him with a firm hand on his shoulder. "Curse him if he speaks out. Just this once."
It went unspoken that this was Grian's redemption, his mercy from another miserable death like the others. Like it or not, the introduction of another disobedient pet had made Grian's position interesting again, and Scar was always excited to continue his favorite game.
It was the only thing keeping the two of them alive.
Seems I've failed my task XD
BUT MAN SUCH A GOOD LITTLE FICLET TO WAKE UP TOO OMG
God i bet Mumbo, whne he sees Grian is surprised but relieved cuz now they both can go together. Grian is smiling until he gets up to him and then just tried convincing him to come back to Scar.. Grian is forced to curse Mumbo- but with what tho

Manor abyss
The last thing he remembered everyone in darkley hates him, his bestfriend resent him and have a big fight with eachother. So the last thing he does was running away from his friends, from that school, and away from his parents.
He hates both of them.
Leaving him alone and abandoned him since he was 5, with a excuse his mother having a work to do leaving him at darkley all alone. His father? He doesn't even remember the last time he saw his own father since he was a toddler.
Lloyd always think his parents hates him, he feels the same for them. He doesn't even like them either anyway, he was clearly fine by his own, he only need to survive alone without a guide from adults or anyone in particular.
Without any path to go, Lloyd then walk away from the town he went through. People in there wasn't even keened of him, so what's the point anyway? He then walked for hours till he didn't know where even he is now maybe he was in a middle of a big and dark forest, lost, alone, maybe even feeling empty.
But that silence was broken when something or perhaps somebody was with him the entire time…
"Who's there? Comeout!" Lloyd was afraid, but those fear can't be seen or shown by him. He wasn't going to let whatever that he showed his fear.
Truth to be told, he can self defense he is skilled in them, he's uncle taught that. So he can say he was pretty confident or so he thought..
Before he can do his self defense, the thing that followed him then attack Lloyd with some smoke bomb, blinding his sight and made it hard for him to breathe. But that didn't stop him to stand still and be strong enough before he was knocked out by the smoke bomb.
The last thing he saw was a shadowy figure approaching his unconscious body, before Lloyd was totally out from it.
.
.
.
.
.
.
When Lloyd woke up from his unconsciousness he was already in bed and in a strangely nice bedroom. "Where…." He said as he stood from the bed and examine the bedroom he was in, "its… a nice room for a stranger to have" something about the place and the bedroom itself feels off for Lloyd to stay in place.
"I need to get out from here" just as Lloyd was about to head out from the room, he heard a knocking sound from outside of the room. "Uh.. hey new comer, the staff of this manor said it's almost time for dinner and maybe we'll meet downstairs okay?" As the footstep sound started to faded away from his bedroom, Lloyd then decide to step out from the bedroom and walk into the dining room where everybody else was there.
There were a lot of teenagers of his age, why would this place has a lot of teenagers in here? Well that question can wait a bit later
One of them notice Lloyd approach to them, "your here finally, that's everyone in here then" said the person who notice him, the person is tall and has a silver hair and light blue eye. Seems like he is the approachable one than the rest of them. "So.. he's the last one Zane?" Said the person beside Zane with a smug smirk, this guy is sure going to be a pain to deal with atleast the one thing he can easily remember about him is the small strand of green hair that's painfully to see.
"Comeon morro don't annoyed him, he's just here by now"
"Whatever kai it's not like you would be annoyed too if another one is here too"
The other are sure talkative, that's what Lloyd thought when he saw the others approach. "So… are you guys new here?" The question here indeed make all of them nodded.
"Ah your all here, great you guys are just in time for dinner!" Said someone from the stair, a strange small wisp of light talk to them. While everyone there just staring at the small wisp, "who are you if we can ask? Are you the owner of this manor?" Ask nya, kai's sister who was beside him all the time.
"Me? I'm just a small guardian of the manor, are you perhaps talking about yourself as the new owner?" Said the small wisp in curiosity to them referring as the owner
Lloyd and the others as the owner? No way! He's just woke up in this place and somehow him and the others are the owner of the manor?
"Owner? Us? You're crazy right?? We all just woke up in this weird place out of nowhere!" Said harumi, the girl that just standing beside Lloyd by now, he's got to admit that she is was quiet at the start. "Ah, my apologies then! Come, dinner is ready by now!" Said the wisp as they lead them to their table.
The atmosphere in the room is really thick and no one dares to break the silence there. But one thing that Lloyd realized is that, they all don't have a clue where or what is going on.
That was until the wisp broke through the thick silence by starting to speak to lighten the topic for a bit, "so, did anyone enjoy the dinner? Maybe some questions would be nice to start our communication" Ofcourse Lloyd has a lot of questions to ask, but before he can ask something a girl across from him raises her hand.
"If I may ask, what is this place? Why did all of us suddenly get thrown here? And who were those shadowy figures that had followed us before?" Well that was a lot of question, Lloyd thought while munching on his food
If the wisp can show their expression by now they can see that they were smiling at them. "That was a great question Ms.Vania, but sadly one of your questions cannot be answered by us for now that has to be discovered by your own! But as a matter of fact I can answer your two other questions!" The wisp exclaimed as if they were grinning like a kid.
"So can you answer those 2 questions then?" Jay asks fidgeting in his seat feeling anxious by all the things happening today. The wisp only giggles while still grinning, "after dinner I can explain everything to you all if you like!" They said as they hover outside away from the dining room.
After dinner it was a bit awkward, all of them already waiting in the hall only just waiting for the wisp to come out and explain everything to them. It's just awkward when you somehow get thrown magically in some place without knowing anyone or anything that has happened before. Thankfully not long after the wisp then appears with a big book that hover around them.
"To summary those questions that just been thrown by Ms. Vania, this book is where all of the answers are within. Like, what is this place? Well to answer that is pretty simple! This is a manor abyss! This manor was created a long time ago by someone who has a big dream and goal to reach something. The original owner of this manor is unknown and only has a wish that this place be well hidden and can only be found by those who have the same dream and goal and what their desire is the most!" The wisp explained the backstory of the manor itself with a big proud smile on its face (if they have one)
"So you're saying…. This place was created by a cuckoo person? Who has a goal and only can proceed by the right person?" Cole asked as if he was hearing something from a fairytale
"That is correct!"
"And for the second question? Why are we brought here then?" Now it's skylor turns to ask the wisp, but the wisp can only show a small shrug still smiling at them. "That is however I can't answer sadly, some mystery needs to be solved by the right time itself! Moving on"
"So you don't even know the answer for it? We thought you could answer all the questions…" Jay said while he play with his scarf, "well I'm not a Wikipedia that know everything or anyone, but that's a fair one" the wisp answer Jay's question still reading through the book that they brought
"About the last question then? What are those shadowy figures that follow and bring us here? Are they some kind of goons?" Pixal ask as if the shadowy figure hasn't make them scared enough
"Yeah what the hell is that thing?!"
"They even throw a smoke bomb at us! It can seriously injured our sight and lungs"
"And makes our bodies unconscious.."
Maybe Lloyd wasn't the only one who has been approached by those kinds. But yeah, that thing can be super dangerous to be thrown at humans or mortal beings like them.
"Alright sorry about that… stuff, but let me answer those questions first! They are hollow gloom, a specimen or creations that made by shadow and goo of the unliving, they don't have any mind or think like me, just a small minion that guard and bring the enemy down if they try to get closed to this place" the wisp explain everything about the hollow gloom
"So all of us are enemies then?" Lloyd said to the wisp lost at their words. "No! No! The hollow gloom only brought you guys here for a reason because of something!"
"And attacking us with a smoke bomb is one way?"
"Uh… the hollow has their own set of mind to brought our new owners in here" the wisp explained with a apology
"New owner?!"
Just as the wisp goes to explain the last part, the grandfather clock is already ringing indicating that it is already night time and showing that all of them have to go back to their room. "Oh night time already? Alright then, off you go to your room now! Night time is here, have a nice rest!" Suddenly the wisp then disappear just before any of them can ask again.
And now they all just left with each other, the atmosphere are awkward after the wisp left them alone again.
No one dare to break the silence, cause they're awkward and they are strangers, just silence fills the air around them. That was until Zane break the awkward atmosphere "so… that was something"
"Yeah that was something… should we head back to our own room or?" Pixal asking not wanting to leave the questions hanging
"Yeah maybe we all should, I'm starting to get dizzy and tired from all of this in one day" Kai then proceeds to pinch his temple feeling a headache right now, "uh nice to meet you all then? And good night…" and after their departure to their own separate room Lloyd can only think about the shit that happened today.
It was one hell of a trip for them.

been working on a halloweeny hermitcraft/empires fic, and i’m not gonna say much cause i don’t wanna spoil it, but here’s grian’s backstory, because it’s super tragic and i’m proud of how it came out
TW: emotional/mental manipulation, verbal/physical abuse, child neglect, house burning down
In all of Grian’s earliest memories, Sam is nice, caring for him the way one would expect a father to; always making sure he had everything he needed, making sure he was well taken care of, loving him as if he were his son.
He doesn’t know why, but that changed. Not all at once, it was gradual, but it changed. Sam would stop playing with him or just downright ignore him, and Grian knew he was getting old, but surely that didn’t mean he couldn’t spend time with him.
The lack of attention turned into full on neglect before long, and Grian wasn’t sure what he’d done wrong. He wasn’t giving up, though, and he kept up asking to play. That seemed to get on Sam’s nerves, however, because after a while, he started yelling harsh words and swears at him, which eventually led to objects being thrown.
Grian stopped asking for attention the first time it happened.
Sam had gotten addicted to drugs and smoking at some point, and even though Grian never bothered him, he would still yell and throw things. Before long, the throwing translated to direct hitting, and he would even go so far as to break Grian’s wings when he was in a particularly bad mood.
But Grian could never leave; he relied on Sam for food and a home, as the human kept reminding him. The world wasn’t forgiving to harpies like him. He didn’t have anywhere else he could go, anyone else who could take him in, so he was stuck. Plus, Sam said he broke Grian’s wings so he couldn’t go out and get taken away. Everything he did, he did out of love.
Sam would have guests over sometimes, mostly kind people who would take one look at Grian and offer their sympathy for his broken wing. Grian loved when people came over, because when people were over, Sam was nice again. He would look at Grian and smile like he used to, would speak in a kind tone when asking him to do or get something. It always got his hopes up, only for them to be smashed right back down as soon as the guests left.
Eventually, when Sam’s hair really started going grey, he stopped acting loving when people were over, which had become less common. He would either completely ignore Grian, or treat him like a servant. Though Grian much prefers that to the yelling and chair-throwing, which was almost as commonplace as Grian’s lack of sleep at that point.
Late one night, when Grian has just turned nineteen, as he’s once again contemplating doing something terrible to himself — because at least then he wouldn’t have a broken wing half the time — he is finally given the opportunity to leave.
There’s a scream from downstairs, followed by Sam calling his name. He doesn’t sound angry this time, but like he’s in pain, and despite how miserable Grian is in that house, some small part of him still cares for the human. So, he races down the stairs, careful to not jostle his broken wing too much, as it doesn’t have anything to keep the bone in place.
The first thing he notices is the heat, then the smoke filling the room, and finally, he registers the fire itself, almost fully engulfing the main floor. Sam is lying on his front in the middle of the room, trying to army crawl to the door — which just so happens to be right next to the stairs Grian had just descended.
“Grian,” Sam exclaims, relief clear in the strained smile spreading over his lips. “Thank god, come help me get out of here.” He reaches toward him expectantly, clearly not able to get up on his own.
Part of Grian, the small part deep inside him that still cares for and even loves Sam, begs him to rush forward and help him to safety. The rest of him, though, the rational part that has been wanting out for years, is louder, drowning out the single voice with dozens of overlapping ones.
Grian’s gaze flicks between Sam and the door a couple times, and he notices that the longer he hesitates, the angrier Sam starts to look.
“Grian,” he growls, the warning clear in his tone; but there’s nothing he can do here.
Grian darts to the door, shifting into his bird form and, though it causes his wing an insane amount of pain, jumps on the door handle until it turns enough to unlatch and swing open.
He shifts back, opening the door farther with a clawed foot, and just as he crosses over the threshold, Sam yells his name again. Grian flinches, stopping in his tracks and turning back to look at the human. There’s more anger in his eyes than Grian’s ever seen, but he’s scared, too. He knows that if Grian doesn’t help him, he’s going to die.
There’s a loud creaking sound, and Grian knows that the second floor has caught fire by now as well. A glance up shows that the floor is already starting to cave in on itself, right over where Sam’s still lying, looking at him with desperation in his eyes.
Grian musters up all the anger and hate and pain that he’s been smothering down for years and throws it all at Sam’s feet with a glare that would make any braver man wither on the spot. Then, he balances himself on one clawed foot, reaches up with the other, grabs the door handle, and pulls it shut.
Without wasting a second, he whips back around and starts running. It barely takes a moment before the second floor collapses, basically throwing Grian forward with a wave of hot air and smoke. He doesn’t stop, doesn’t even risk a glance back, wanting — no, needing to get as far away from that cursed place as possible.
After what must be hours of adrenaline-powered running, Grian finds himself in a forest. He probably would have gotten farther, if he could fly, but, after all, his wing is broken. When he remembers that, the pain comes back, doubled by the adrenaline crash hitting him like a truck.
He all but collapses to the ground, trying to be careful of his wing, but that’s not easy when his legs basically fall out from under him. He’s shaky, he’s cold, he’s tired, he hurts, his breath isn’t reaching his lungs, and all these feelings register in barely an instant.
He lets out the tiniest of pained whimpers just barely a second before a gust of wind blows through the forest. Grian flinches, shifting into his bird form again to make himself smaller. His wing definitely shouldn’t be lying against the ground like that, but he’s so close to passing out that he doesn’t care.
The sun crests the horizon, throwing dappled lighting through the leaves to the ground around him; he’s been running all night. The last thing he sees before finally falling unconscious is a grey creature, about twice his current size, approaching from around a bush. The creature walks on all fours, with pointed ears and a gently swaying tail. It’s accompanied by a soft, rumbling purr, and Grian somehow knows that if he falls asleep, he won’t die; so that’s exactly what he allows himself to do.

Dp x Dc AU: Tim doesn’t rest, not even in Death.
It’s a heart attack that gets him, well, that and the insane amount of fear toxin flooding his system. He was dead for a full three minutes before he watches (how was he watching?) his eldest brother get his heart going again and get his unconscious body to the cave. Alfred gets him onto bat-life support and Leslie looks gravely at his family after she’s done her best to heal him. They decide to keep trying, they don’t want to believe he’s gone.
Tim watches in fury. He’s more useful than this, he’s not just going to die and let the family mourn him! Tim sets to work trying to understand what’s happened to him and he realizes he must be a ghost. Therefore, if he wants to understand ghosts he needs to go where ghosts are, and thankfully he just read a JLD doc saying to avoid Amity Park at all costs.
It’s takes him a second to get used to flying at full speed, but he finds himself surrounded by strange people in a strange town and… he notices himself becoming more visible. He’s able to interact with more and more objects, he even picked up a pencil! Poltergeist is a step forward in his plan, Tim accepts this change of pace.
Then Tim meets Danny, a normal human kid who looks like he could be brought into the manor and given a cape, who looks straight at him.
“Wait, who are you? You didn’t die in Amity did you?”
“No, I died in Gotham. I came here to understand how I’m a ghost and how I can get back to my dying body. I just need a few answers.” Tim explains, and notices that his voice isn’t his own, like it’s a different language entirely that comes out.
“Well, uh, I dunno about going back to your body but it’s not safe for you to be here. The GIW are looking for lost souls like you that people won’t notice go missing. So get back to your family and find peace. Im sorry but that’s really the best advice I have.” Danny answers.
Tim begs him for answers on the GIW. Begs him for any answers at all. Danny shrugs him off each time, tell him that he’s just a ghost and he needs to move on before he gets hurt or becomes a problem.
Tim decides if he’s a problem, he’ll probably get more answers.
Soon enough, he’s stepping into the end of a battle where Phantom is getting Skulker into a thermos, and demands answers, and if not answers help.
They brawl, and Tim’s training as Red Robin gets him farther than a lot of ghosts. And then, when he knows he’s beat and he’s about to share thermos space with the robot jackass (who he can interrogate and then build his own robot) Tim realizes something.
“You’re still alive, aren’t you? You’re Danny, black hair and blue eyes.” Tim says and suddenly Phantom is as still as the dead despite the accusation.
“How the fuck- dude. Okay, you know what? Fine. Lets go talk, you’re clearly not giving up and I need you to never say that shit out loud ever again.”
Because blackmail works in life for Tim, blackmail also apparently works in death.
He’s given all of the info they have on the GIW, he’s introduced to ghost technology and how it works with ectoplasm. He’s told about the portal (although they refuse to sneak him into the house to see it- he can handle a few lasers, ugh) and he’s told about the general sequence of events in Danny’s life/death.
And then Tim is suddenly back in his body in Gotham.
The family found a way to bring him back and he’s 100% alive, no longer ghostly, but he retained all his memories.
“We have a war against the government to start” are not the first words his family expected to hear from Tim post death.
