Ulysses obsession with the Courier is a special type of sad to me cause the Courier’s part was so important but so unwitting. They had no idea what was in the package they delivered and neither did he. Neither had an idea of what it could’ve done and the Courier was only caring out their job (mind you the Courier could be killed via notes in the express contract if they don’t). To them it was just another regular delivery to the divide and one that they likely thought would help, just like all the ones before.

It’s so tragic for Ulysses to hold so much ire to the Courier when it really was the case of it could’ve been anyone. Anyone could have delivered that package but they did and so he focused the blame on them and it destroys what he is trying to instill in the courier on a fundamental level.

#like yeah the courier delivered the package but in the end that’s a job #any random courier could’ve delivered it especially since we know in the past the factions were farther apart and this travel was a smidge #safer but courier six got it and this Ulysses blamed them #like I don’t care much for Ulysses because I think lonesome road embodies don’t shoot the messenger at it core #and what people focus on doesn’t focus on the fact that in the bigger picture #everything went wrong because two factions were at war and at some point the codes would have been delivered #and the divide destroyed cause with how close it is to NCR territory it would of been found #like there is an inevitable and too many people treat Ulysses as if he knows more or is more aware of the idiosyncrasies of conflict #when he’s like fundamentally flawed just at the standard of being a legion apologist STILL and just how focused he is on one persons #involvement cause yeah choices matter even the small one but I think Veronica’s quest says it best with a line from the courier #you can’t control what they do #like the courier couldn’t and can’t control what they deliver and yet it’s got them in hot water multiple times #like do you think they enjoy being shot or knowing they are indirectly responsible for activating the annihilation of a community #to me it’s hypocrisy to be willing to end the world or one world to prove a point and whatever argument made that only military factions #suffer forget there are innocent civilians suffering that had no part and Ulysses is no better than the Courier #I don’t like devils advocate and a lot of the dlc just feels like that but idk I know people love it but the depth is just not there for mr #ulysses fnv #fallout #fallout new vegas #courier six #the courier #lonesome road #the courier has very little personality outside what we give them but some lines and delivery paint a picture #like uhhhh undertale deltarune rules ig

Yep! I'm super excited for it! Really looking forward to it because I've actually managed to draw something this year (I do feel bad about not personally participating in previous years) and I'm hoping to get another thing done for it. And yes it's on June 16th, where it will remain every year that I do this (for clarity's sake, that way no one is stuck thinking it's that day if I were to change it to another). I will be doing this perhaps every year until the end of time (I do not plan to die).

I hope a bunch of people will be able to participate again this year. :>

dating when you're a shonen character must be so hard because all of your formative experiences are so tied into what happened when you and your friends had the Big Plot Events going on. how would you even comprehend sharing that with someone outside of your circle

#i guess it's easier for shinigami characters in bleach or shinobi characters in naruto because these are common occupatonal occurences #but i'm mainly thinking about ichigo/orihime/uryu/chad and their extremely specific histories #that could never translate into something understandable to an outsider – say. an oc – they're dating #for better or for worse some people are just going to be the only people that 'get it' having been there for the 'it' in question #you can't put it into words. you don't want to either so you stick to the people who don't NEED you to explain it to them #that's a dynamic that's interesting to me – especially when you consider that those 4 know more about each other than their own families do #their civilian/other lives are entwined; they fight together but they also hang out frequently #i don't like freely using the term 'found family' but there's really no other explanation for it #for better or for worse but mostly out of necessity these people WILL be in each other's lives at least tangentially until they die #it would be way easier for me to picture hisagi dating some random shinigami oc than say. As a tool like any other tool yeah i think it could be useful. We use tools in everything but we still do the actual work. Not the tools doing the whole work for us.

We are talking about AI art, which isn't art in my eyes because it literally takes from already existing art, most of the time without premission aka stealing and then someone just sits and writes punch of promts on some website that makes the "art". That's not art! That's programming, if even that! And not to mention, AI art just looks bad. It's all very generic looking, the longer you look at it the more mistakes and flaws you see that human artist wouldn't make, much of it has that uncanny valley feel and it just doesn't have soul. As an artist when i look at AI art i see nothing, there's no emotions nor intention, no heart, it's cold.

The biggest fear is the AI art taking real artists' jobs. That's so scary and defeating feeling that i do not want to happen. We all know that if big companies & corporations could replace artists with AI and cut costs while getting more work/products done and lessen human management and gain profit, a lot of them would take that. Because if you give the capitalist self-profit centered company a finger, they will take the whole arm and toss rest of you away

#i honestly do not ever think i've had a positive onboarding experience #in my entire professional life #i guess for me a lot of my early-job anxieties are around expectations and 'rules' #like i want to know what time i'm supposed to be there and what time i'm allowed to leave and what the dress code is #and how the hybrid schedule works #so i don't make dumb mistakes right away #i also think i want to be involved in the real work as early as possible #like i don't have to be DOING anything yet but i want to be watching people do things and shadowing in meetings #so i can start to develop a sense of who's who and what the actual work of the office/workplace looks like #and also because i really value getting a feel for personalities as early as possible lol i want to know what the vibes are #hmm and also maybe most importantly #i feel like in any new situation i need a very loose conceptual framework to hold the new information being given to me #otherwise it's just random pieces of info you know? like it's helpful when someone is actively helping me fit information into a frame #like they're saying 'here's the HUGE picture - now let's zoom in and start looking at this one corner of it - and as we add new corners #i'll actively help you fill in the connective tissue that holds these different parts of the big picture together' #hmmm #my worst onboarding experiences have been when the person training me comes in and throws lots of #long complex extremely context-dependent documents or readings at me #and is like ok spend the week reading those and get back to me #and i'm like ?????????? #i have NO understanding of what my role is or how this organization functions #at this point it is not helpful for me to pass my eyes over tons of dense info without a guide to tell me what's important #i have no way of gauging of something is important or trivial and then i feel stressed like i have to learn ALL of it #even though i know that a huge portion of it will end up being not that relevant to my day-to-day job
