Hi there! I've been hyperfixating on dbh and atwow so you know what. Y/n is a reef na'vi android that was designed for earning materials and stuff. They were working on capturing a tulkan and y/n was there too. They saw how cruel the people are for trying to kill the animal and just like that they broke the barrier. They destroyed the controls making the tulkan escape. They then jumped in the water and got away. Y/n then got to the metkayena village and saw the tsahik. They hurried up right away. Ronal was in warning mode when she saw y/n. Y/n had explained everything. Ronal then asked about y/n's led. They explained how they're an android and how they broke the barrier and everything and they told Ronal that they're willing to help. Ronal told Tonowori about this and they agreed to let them stay. Fast forward to when Jake arrived. Y/n was there as usual inspecting them. That's when they saw Kiri, they didn't know what they were feeling it was a new emotion for them. They instantly got close to her. They helped her with everything and when Ao'nung bullied her y/n stepped up. Kiri started liking y/n too. They were inseparable since and they were crushing hard on each other. When the war started y/n was the first one to get on the ship, they were really worried about Kiri and the others. Masterlist

Making avatar's was becoming expensive, so the RDA resulted into creating an android. They had contacted CyberLife back on earth and requested for a special robot to be made. This android would help the RDA when out, collecting materials and other things that the RDA could use.

After a couple months, the Android had arrived. In perfect condition. The android was the very first of it's model. It was a reef na'vi android with the latest technology. Not only that, but the android was of a young teen girl, between the ages of 14-15. The RDA didn't really care, as long as it worked how they needed to be. You were dressed up in a in a RDA wet suit. So you could do your job easier. Before you were put out into the sea, you had to run some tests, to make sure that you were working just fine. You were, you had no technical problems or any difficulties, so you were sent out.

The tasks were simple, you only collected some things in the ocean and that was it. Then you were moved to help the marine biologists, you had learned about the Tulkun, they were interesting intelligent animals that roamed the sea. You thought that you were going learn about them, but you had found out why they were interested in the Tulkun. They were hunting them for some fluids in their head which made them immortal. At first it didn't effect you, but every time you'd watch a Tulkun get captured and killed, you'd go into distress. Your led would go yellow all the time, it was effecting you a lot.

You had began to think, something that you wouldn't normally do. You thought how it was wrong to kill the sea creatures that wouldn't fight back, it was horrible. So one night you decided to do something. You went to where the Tulkun were being held in, most of them were calves, so you did what you thought was right. You had let the Tulkun go back into the ocean. When the Humans found out what you did, they tried to take you out, but before they did, you had jumped into the ocean and began to swim away as far as you could.

In the ocean, you had met a calf, who had recently lost his mother and he had a missing fin. It must have been because of the hunters. You had apologized to him, for what you did and how you didn't act fast. He had seemed to understand and he forgave you. Then he guided you back to a village.

When you arrived, the na'vi there looked a lot like you. The people near by gathered around at you, holding their spears and kids were also by trying to have a look. They must have been looking at what you wore, since they had different attire on. Then came the Tsahik and the Olo'eyktan. They weren't very welcoming at first, since you had come out of nowhere, and because you were wearing demon clothing. When the Tsahik had a look at you, she didn't see nothing out of the ordinary at first, but when she saw your led on your upper right bow, that was when she asked what you were.

You told her that you were an Android sent by CyberLife, and your job was to help the humans in there research. You also told them on what was happening to the Tulkun. The villagers weren't very happy to learn that the humans were hunting their brothers and sisters, as well as living the calves orphan. You told both the leaders that you helped the calves get away from the RDA and how you wanted to help them protect the Tulkun from the humans. At first the Tsahik didn't want you here, she didn't want the humans to come to her village, neither did the Olo'eyktan, but he saw that you did want to help them. After sharing a look with his mate, they had finally agreed. You were allowed to stay.

You were staying in the Tsahik and Olo'eyktan's marui with their children. You had learned their names right away. It was required that you learned about their ways, it made sense since you were a reef na'vi. You learned how to dress like them, hunt like them and even talk like them. Ronal had also learned a lot about you, she also wanted to study you in a way. Learn about how human technology worked and how you went against your leaders. She had learned about what your led did, how it'd go from blue to yellow and sometimes red. You explained that its a way to learn how your functioning. How the blue was normal, yellow is when you were thinking or gathering information and red was how you went under bad stress. She understood now.

Besides being with the Tsahik, you spent time with her children, Ao'nung, Tsireya and her adopted son Roxto. Just like there mother, they were also curious about you and how it was like being with the humans. They had taught you a lot about reef and how all water is connection to everything. You learned about how your queue could be used for bonding. At first you thought your braid had no use, but it did to your surprised. You had bonded with an ilu, your blue glowing tendrils wrapped themselves around the ilu's pink ones. It was hard a first trying to bond with an animal, but it actually worked.

A few more months passed, something had happened. Some of the villagers had left far to the south, to get revenge on their fallen brothers and sisters, you tried to stop them, telling them that they'd die out there, they didn't listen and they left anyway. You under very bad stress, your led was turning red for days. Later you had found out that the villager's had died with other Tulkun who had also seek vengeance. Their deaths were mourn, but the Tulkun who had lead them to fight had been made an outcast. Payakan, the calf that had helped you and had forgiven you. He only wanted justice for the death of his mother and other Tulkun. You knew he had to pay for the consequences of his actions, but you forgave him. You would have done the same if your mother had been killed in front of you.

Nearly a year had passed after that, then came new people. Forest na'v had arrived, you were with Ronal, helping her collect some materials for her to use. When you both heard the commotion, you both went to see the new people. Ronal had asked you if you could analyze them, see if you can sense any suspicious behavior on them. So you did, you didn't sense any danger, instead you self a deep stress and exhaustion in the family. That was when you had found out about them seeking uturu. Ronal wasn't very happy about that, she didn't want them to bring in a war to her village. It was similar when you were had arrived. After some convicting, they were allowed to stay with the same conditions given to you.

You and Tsireya had helped them by taking them to their new home. As you carried their stuff, you couldn't help but look at their oldest daughter. The girl with the five fingers, you couldn't help but feel your stress level going low. Not only that, but you began to feel your robotic heart beating a bit fast, were you experiencing some malfunctioning? You had to look into it.

When it was time to teach the Sully kids, you couldn't help but look at Kiri. You began to feel all sorts of things, things that weren't in your system. Instead of going with the other kids, you went off with Kiri. Both of you were looking around the reef, showing her everything, this was new to her and she had seemed to love it. You also saw how she was able to control some fish, that was something you've never seen. Ever since you saw that, you began to be in even more interest in her.

You had gone to find her some flowers that grew it the water, hoping that she'd like them. You found her, but she was surrounded by Ao'nung and his friends, you knew something was wrong because you saw her stress level rising and she had a look of distress. So you forgot about the flowers and went up to see what was happening. You had told Ao'nung to leave her alone, he insisted of messing with her, but good thing you had stopped it from going any further. You had walked away with Kiri, apologizing to her for Ao'nung's behavior.

Ever since then, you began to be around Kiri more. You weren't always alone, Tuk would also be with the two of you. You'd show the both of them the things that you've learned and were able to do. When Tuk isn't with you and Kiri, the two of you would spend countless hours together, doing anything that you could think of together. That was when you had found out that you had developed romantic feelings for the Sully girl. This was a bran new feeling, so you weren't malfunctioning, it was just a new feeling that you had developed. You liked the feeling.

When you had gone to the Spirit tree, you were next to Kiri the whole time. It was nice seen her very relaxed and happy, it made you happy. When her seizure happened, you had gone into distress. Your led was turning red the whole time, you did everything that you could, but you weren't designed for medical attention. So Jake had called his friends to help his daughter. They too couldn't figure out on what they could do. Ronal then came to help, your led when back to normal when you saw that Kiri was okay. So that wouldn't happened again, you had asked Norm and Max if they could download some kind of medical software into your system. They did whatever they could, they were surprised to see an android with your kind of technology that they didn't have. Now you knew on what to do if something like that were to happen.

Later on. you had gone to the Sully's hut to see if Kiri was okay. She was doing fine, but she seemed a bit bombed out, you thought of things that you could do together, get her to feel better. Then you heard the horn getting blown that only meant one thing. The Tulkun had returned, so you thought that Kiri would feel better seen the Tulkun. So you along with Tuk took her to meet them. The whole time you spent together with Rotxo's spirit water, she was happy and no longer sad, it made you happy.

Then the sky people had arrived in Three Brother's Rocks. You had gone with the kids to help Payakan from the hunters. But then you were separated. You tried looking for Kiri, but she was nowhere near by, you had got lost, but you were found by Neteyam who took you with him. When you were on the ship, you and Tsireya were instructed to get Tuk out of there so you did. As you swam away together, you saw that Kiri was getting taken by the soldiers, so you and Tuk decided to go back and get her.

You had spotted her tied to the pole, you were glad to see her. As you all tried to get Kiri uncuffed. Miles came and took Tuk. You and Tsireya tried to get her, but Tsireya was push back into the water, you tried to get Tuk instead but you were also pushed back. As you fell into the water, Tsireya helped you get on the ilu that had come by. You then spotted the boys, along with a human boy. You then saw the look of distress in Neteyam, that was when you saw the blood on his chest. You had to act fast. You got Neteyam on the ilu and got away fromt he ship.

On a rock was his father, who helped you all get Neteyam on the rock. He was bleeding out fast, you had to act fast. So you moved over and began to do what needed to get done. You got his knife and cut a piece of his loincloth, then you added the cloth in his mouth. Jake had asked on what you were doing, but you told him that their was now time you had to act now. You then told Tsireya to give you a piece of her string from her top and to make a needle from the rocks on her top. As she did, you began to remove the bullet from Neteyam's skin, it was painful. Neteyam bit onto the cloth as you pushed the bullet out his skin. Everyone watched as you performed this small surgery. After the bullet was out, you had stuffed a piece of cloth in the wound to stop the bleeding. Then you got the makeshift needle and string from Tsireya and you began to stitch up the wound. You didn't notice how everyone had left to go get Kiri and Tuk while you and Tsireya did what you could to help Neteyam.

The bleeding had stopped, and Neteyam was now okay. He still needed to get treated by the Tsahik. Neteyam had thanked you and Tsireya for what you did for him. Then came back the others, when they saw that Neteyam was okay, Neytiri and Tuk were the first ones to go hug him. They were glad that he was okay, while Lo'ak hugged Tsireya to comfort one another. Kiri had engulfed you in a tight hug. You hugged her back, happy to see her again, alive and well. She was thanking you over and over for helping Neteyam. She had heard from her father that you were helping her brother. You felt all kinds of emotions flowing trough your systems. You were all kinds of happy, you felt your stress from your body disappear. Happy because you were with Kiri.

For some background, the ‘tank’ is just open ocean that is sectioned off by a netted divider so nothing can get in or out. There’s an underwater conservatory full of humans below but the glass is one sided so Pickle can’t see the humans and attack them.

Now you weren’t supposed to be in his tank. That was an accident on the researcher’s part. You screamed when you saw the massive merman in the tank who made a beeline towards you

Thank goodness the bottom of the tank had a large coral reef with plenty of anemone or you were sure you’d be eaten. The megalodon whining when the pink anemone stung his hand. The giant merman cradling his hand in pain

You peak your head out from the anemone in curiosity. The merman hunched over in the sand as he held his hand. He looked so sad…

You hesitantly reach your hand out of the anemone and rub his back. The merman whipping his head around to look at you. His gold eyes widening in realization that you’re like him. A smile now on his face as his large body towers over yours

And so starts your forced friendship with the merman known as Pickle. He would lay in front of your anemon all day to try to catch a glimpse of you. Sometimes he would swim over it

You rarely came out unless it was to grab some food. Pickle’s eyes would shine when he notices how fond you are of crustaceans. He’ll start bringing you them as well as some clams and algae. His face lighting up when you accept his gift.

Pickle destroys any of the human’s machines that try to come get you. He won’t let them anywhere near you. He doesn’t understand they’re trying to take you out of there because you were never supposed to be in there in the first place

The humans begin to study Pickle’s behavior more and they notice his gift giving becoming more frequent. He must see you, the clownfish, as a mate. They weren’t quite sure how to help you. There was no way you two were compatible…

Pickle rejected every other tank mate before you (he ate them). You were simply lucky (or in this case, unlucky)

You were originally going to be put in a tank with a potential mate (Lionfish Baki) but instead had somehow ended up in Pickle’s enclosure. The merman was so attached to you and he was so desperate for your approval

That’s when the shiny shell gifts began. Pickle began to bring you so many pretty shells and you were still terrified of him… he would whine whenever you ignore his gifts

It was when you swam out of the anemone and accepted his gift (a pink conch) that he scooped you up in his hands. Your screams not deterring him from hugging you and pressing his lips to your cheek

You’re then forced to cuddle with the shark merman. His large body and vice hold making escape impossible so you had to suck it up

Pickle dotes on you endlessly. He’s actually really sweet even though he can’t speak or sing. Pickle was able to pick up sign language to communicate with you.

Pickle enjoys your songs. He likes listening to your voice… he just wished you wanted to swim with him more. He hated that you would spend time in the anemone where he couldn’t reach you

Pickle is incredibly clingy. He cries and wails loudly when he can’t be with you. He’s such a baby… a baby that tears apart anything that tries to separate you two (save for the anemone but their days are numbered)

"Tuk!" You let out a sigh as she runs off with her brothers. You look up at the night sky and take in a deep breath. You look around and realize Jake and Kiri are no where in sight. You knew Kiri and the rest of your children were having a hard time taking in everything. You and jake knew settling in the reef wouldnt be so easy

You got up from the floor and swiftly ran into the forest until you saw Jake and Kiri sitting on a rock on front of a small pond. Your heart melted at the sight of your husband holding your daughter in his arms. You crossed your arms over your chest and smiled as you watched from a distance.

"so what is it baby girl." Your heard your husband say while gently patting Kiris back. You watched as kiri sobbed into jakes chest. You slowly approached them and plopped down next to kiri. You wrap your arm around her while gently caressing her shoulder.

"Kiri, everything is going to be okay. As long as we all stick together. I promise i won't let anything happen to any of you." You reassure her before looking over at Jake. a soft, caring smile spread across his face as he stared at you. The two of you hold your daughter close as her soft crys escape. You both knew the kids didn't want to leave their home but Jake insisted they leave. He wanted to keep his family safe and you also want whats best for your family so you complied.

"you're right, as long as i have the two of you, i'll be fine...We'll all be fine." You pull Kiri into one last hug before letting her go. A smile forms on your face as you watch as Jake wipe the tears from her face.

"Now now Kiri, its getting late. Go get you and your siblings into bed." You watch as she runs back into the forest. You let out a sigh and turn to face Jake. You grinned as you admired his facial features, you loved the way the glowing plants illuminated his face. Your brought up your hand to his cheek and gently caressed it with your fingers.

"You're such a great dad.." You shift your gaze from his eyes down to his lips. your hands began to wander all over his body. from his toned chest down to his legs. You felt his body stiffen and his breath become shaky. You knew the effect you had on him.

"y'know i always want whats best for my family baby." Jake remarked before pressing his lips to yours. Now you were the one speechless. Your eyes fluttered shut as you enjoyed the moment. Your lips moved in sync as the kiss and desire grew deeper. A muffled laugh escaped from your lips as you slowly attempted to pull back from the kiss. "jake, jake. We can't do this, not now.." you grinned as he held a firm grip on your waist.

"mm, why not. I don't see anyone around." He looked around the forest. The only thing surrounding the two of you were glowing plants and trees. No one was around, you ran no risk of getting caught.

"i guess theres nothing wrong with a little bit of fun, hmm?" A smirk spread across your face as your wrapped your around around his neck. you smashed your lips against his and the kiss grew hotter. He gently laid you on your back before towering over your smaller body

His big hands came to rest on your waist, his long fingers trailing down your body. He looked like a god like this, sweat trickling down his torso, trailing along his v- line and the soft line of hair at his navel. "Jake please.." you muttered, It was his turn to tease you now. You whined as the tip of his long member teased your wet entrance. "Use your words sweetheart, c'mon"

a series of whimpers escaped your mouth while bucking your hips up to chase the friction he wasn’t giving you. “Need more… i want you inside me,” As if predicting your response, a wolffish grin spread across his face while his hands gripped your thighs and hoisted them against the sides of his waist. You never got used to his size, no matter how wet and prepped you were, your walls burned with irritation. Jake's eyes softened at the sight of your scrunched face, his hand slipping down to rub your clit. Almost immediately pleasure consumed you, like liquid fire spreading throughout your core.

Eyes flitting across your body, Jake grinned at your wrecked state; your hair a disheveled mess. "let go for me sweetheart" Harsh pants left his mouth, soon cut off by a low groan when you ran your nails down his spine. His thrusts turned sloppy, and he stuffed his face into the side of your neck to muffle the string of moans that released from his mouth.

You were so lost in your thoughts that you didnt notice Jake standing behind you until he presaed his hand against youe shoulder. You quickly turn around and let out a sigh. "You startled me.."

You rolled your eyes as he let out a chuckle. "apologies sweetheart, didn't mean to." You felt him plop down next to you. Your eyes flutter shut as you rested your head against his shoulder. You took a deep breath and the scent of the salted ocean water filled your nose almost immediately.

"I never want this to end.." he hummed out while gently stroking your thigh. You glanced down at Tuk and she was peacefully sleeping. "And it wont my love, we'll be okay." you looked up at him with a reassuring smile.

Jakes heart immediately melted "you don't know how happy i am, with you, the kids and simply everything. Times right now may not be the best but we'll get through it sweetheart." he pressed his hand to your stomach.

"now, lets go get some rest.." Jake got up from the deck and carried Tuk back to the tent. You walked behind them and admired Your husband and the way he held your child in his hands, you were caught in a trance. After tucking Tuk into her bed he turned around to face you. He chuckled as a smirk spread across his face. "my eyes are up here darling." You crossed your arms over your chest and scoffed

"pfft, i was only thinking.." you remarked as a small smile creeped uo on your face. Jake approached you from behind and press his hands onto your shoulders as your eyes slowly fluttered shut. Your husband never failed to make you feel safe.

A/N: I do apologize if I don't fulfill the full request since I had a similar prompt for Lo'ak and I didn't want the brothers to have similar stories. Enjoy!

While Lo'ak, Kiri, and Tuk adapted and thrived in Awa'atlu, Neteyam wasn't as successful. 

As the firstborn and brought up as the once-future olo'eyktan, Neteyam was raised off of Omatikaya culture and nothing else. He was raised to be a warrior and a leader, taught by the many other leaders of his clan. Both his parents and his grandmother taught him everything they knew and more. He loved it and was passionate about his people's lifestyle, so he struggled to learn anything else, much like his mother.

Both Neytiri and her oldest felt so out of place among the Metkayina, always homesick and mourning their former lives, now changed forever. Now that Tarsem replaced Jaked as the Omatikaya's chief, Neytiri would no longer be tsahik after Mo'at and Neteyam would never become olo'eyktan. Everything he was taught, all that hard work and striving for perfection... no longer mattered. 

Neteyam felt as though he didn't belong among the reef people, but his siblings clearly weren't in the same boat. Tsireya was an excellent teacher and Lo'ak clung to every word she said. It also didn't hurt how close he had gotten with the chief's daughter to the point where he was always given one-on-one lessons with her. Once Ao'nung and Lo'ak got over their differences, they actually became good friends and Rotxo was never far behind. 

Neteyam's sisters also thrived in Awa'atlu and found friends in Rotxo, Ao'nung, and Tsireya. To none of the Sullys' surprise, Kiri was a natural swimmer and deep-diver who barely struggled with holding her breath. And while Tuk was young and inexperienced, she was still young enough to relearn how to survive and adapt to this new lifestyle. By the time she's Neteyam's age, she'll be a far more skilled Metkayina than her older brother could ever hope to be.

It was such an uncommon feeling-- for Neteyam to be the odd one out. He had always fit in with the people around him, while his siblings... not so much, but he never loved them less for it and he always tried to understand their emotions. Now, finally, he fully understood how they felt to be the outsider. 

Those thoughts always vanish, however, whenever he is in your presence. 

Adamant on teaching the Sully children alongside Tsireya, you had grown fond of Neteyam almost immediately. At first, you spent one-on-one time to help him catch up with his siblings' progress. As his teacher, Neteyam found that he was able to focus and absorb the information whenever it was just you and him. He learned how to hold his breath underwater, ride an ilu, the sign language, the tulkun songs, and it was all because of you, his savior. 

As your friendship bloomed, Neteyam opened up more about his clan and their way of life, which always piqued your interest. By the time he came to terms with his feelings for you, he also began to share his inner thoughts, how he initially felt like an outsider among the Metkayina and a little envious of his siblings since they managed to adapt so quickly. 

"That is ridiculous," you scoff good-naturedly as you sit beside him on the beach one night, "You will always be the son of Toruk Makto, but you are also one of us now. There's no shame in missing what you lost back home. Your friends, your status, and the life you loved, but that doesn't mean you can't love the new life you're starting here. There's no harm in change. Take the ocean for example."

He watches as you dip your hand into the wet sand, letting the shallow water spill into the crevice of your palm. The glowing algae once swimming in the water now swirled in your hand in a way Neteyam could only imagine pixie dust would look like based on his father's stories from Earth. 

You lift your hand up and watch as the glowing water falls through the cracks of your fingers, shimmering as it splashes back down into the ocean, "It's always changing and it never stays in one place. When the tide takes you out, you're not supposed to fight it. You have to swim alongside it or you will drift away. Do not fight change, Neteyam. Let it happen. Your brother mentioned a saying from the Sky People and I think perfectly encapsulates what I am trying to say. 'Go with the flow.'"

You weren't expecting the laugh that jostles from Neteyam's chest, but you welcomed it all the same, smiling victoriously at getting him to laugh. It was a deep sound in his throat, and he looked so free and relaxed, the sight made your stomach warm. Once he recovers, he smiles back at you, loosely and genuinely.

"Thank you, Y/n."

You nod, jutting your chin out with confidence, "Just wait. You'll be a warrior among us sooner than later, just as you are with the Omatikaya. I am sure of it."

"Pinky swear?"

Your brow ridge furrows, tilting your head in confusion, "What?"

"Oh, right," Neteyam breathes a small laugh as a thought dawns on him, "It's a human thing. Alien custom. You link your smallest fingers together to form a sacred vow-- a promise, and after that, you can't break it. It works for people with extra fingers, like Lo'ak and Kiri. Our father taught us."

He clenches one hand into a fist except for the last finger, his smallest. You stare oddly at his hand before staring down at your own, mimicking the same movement and pointing only with your smallest finger, "What happens if you break the promise?"

"... You know, I don't actually know," Neteyam sheepishly admits, bowing his head to hide the embarrassment on his face, "My father can be timid sometimes so I just never bothered to find out."

You hum but don't question it further, allowing Neteyam to lock your small fingers together. Despite the weird custom, it made your face warm to feel the heat of his body so close to yours, your fingers linked together to seal a sacred vow.

As this unspoken thing progressed between you and Neteyam, the Sky People were closing in on the Sullys' location. Eventually, war came to the reef and you and the other reef children got caught up in it after following Lo'ak and his siblings to save Payakan. Things took a turn for the worse and suddenly you find yourself kneeling on a slippery rock surface before Neteyam, desperately trying to help Lo'ak as you both press your hands into the older boy's chest to stop the bleeding. The sight haunted you as Neteyam's eyes wildly looked around, appearing unable to focus on just one person as he struggled to breathe, his body going into shock. He was shivering from head to toe but not quite cold, gasping for breath even though he wasn't drowning. Even as tears blurred your vision, you didn't dare draw your hands away, stomping down the fear of losing Neteyam and instead replacing that fear with determination to save him. 

You, Lo'ak, and the human known as Spider worked as a team, following Toruk Makto's instructions and doing whatever Tsireya told you to do with her knowledge of healing. By the time Neytiri had managed to find her family in the chaos of the battlefield, the bleeding had begun to slow. Even though you had saved Neteyam a little more time, you weren't out of the woods yet. Neteyam needed real healing from Ronal and at the same time, Kiri and Tuk needed rescuing from the ship of metal the Sky People sailed on. Both Sully parents were conflicted about what they should do until you and Tsireya took control of the situation. Together, you two convinced Jake and Neytiri to go rescue their daughters while you swore to take the unconscious Neteyam back to the village. They expressed their gratitude before taking off, and then Lo'ak and Spider helped you and Tsireya get Neteyam onto an ilu. You girls took Neteyam to Ronal while the boys stayed behind, not wanting to go back until they knew Kiri and Tuk had been safely rescued. 

The rest of the Sullys returned to Awa'atlu hours later, tired but mostly unharmed and desperate to see their son and brother. To their shared relief, you and Tsireya had brought Neteyam to the tsahik just in time, and Ronal held Neytiri after the crying mother was reassured that her son would live.

It was hard for you to visit Neteyam as time went on. He had woken up a week after the Sky People were defeated, but he was constantly surrounded by his family so you didn't think your presence was needed. You didn't want to crowd him any more than he already was, constantly looked after by his loved ones while he healed. It was torture for you, knowing that he was safe but still haunted by the memory of his blood on your hands. You hadn't seen him in so long and you needed to be sure he was whole and on the way to recovery. You needed to see him with your own two eyes and so finally, you gained the courage to approach Toruk Makto and his mate.

After everything you have done for Neteyam and their family, Jake and Neytiri were more than happy to make sure you had some time alone with Neteyam to talk and catch up. They took their other children away for the afternoon and flashed you small smiles of encouragement, silently offering some good luck. 

Neteyam looked up from his cot upon hearing the sound of someone entering his family's kelku, and seemed genuinely surprised by who stood in the doorway, "Y/n?"

You faintly smile, his voice saying your name sounded like a soft lullaby you haven't heard in so long. You move over to the cot and kneel before him, scanning his face. Apart from the bandages wrapped around his chest, he looked like himself, "You look better."

You immediately flush with embarrassment when those words leave your lips and you instantly backtrack, "I mean-- I just-- I'm glad that you are on the mend."

Instead of appearing offended, Neteyam's forehead wrinkles as he peers up at you with concern in his voice, "Where have you been? I was worried."

Both happiness and shame battle in your gut, touched that he was worried about you but guilty for not seeing him sooner to ease both of your pain. You lower your voice to a whisper, bringing your hand to brush a braid out of his face, "I'm sorry. I didn't think you needed someone else at your bedside. You have so many people who love you and want to see you get better, so I wanted to give you some air to breathe. I'm sorry. I won't do that again unless you ask me."

He catches the hand you used to push aside his braid and takes your fingers in his before you can pull away, bringing your hand to rest on the side of his face. He leans into your palm, murmuring against your skin, "I missed you."

"I missed you, too," you exhale shakily, tears beginning to brim in your eyes, but they were out of joy and relief, "I... I'm so happy you're awake. I have something for you."

You don't pull your hand away, wanting to keep touching Neteyam's face, his skin warm and alive beneath yours. You use your free hand to grab the item you placed on the floor beside you and hold it up for the forest boy to see. Neteyam tilts his head up to take a look and his eyes widen in shock. 

Beads carved from trees, not shells, the fiber stripped from plants on land, not from the seaweed floating underwater. All of it was woven into an intricately made armband that was clearly inspired by Omatikaya fashion. 

You place the band in Neteyam's free hand, his eyes still wide as his thumb traced over the pattern. He wets his bottom lip and blinks, still shocked while trying to form words, "What...?"

"I hope it's to your liking," you explain even as the heat rises to your face, "Your mother and father helped me make it."

Whatever you said must have been the right answer as a smile suddenly blooms on Neteyam's mouth, "It reminds me of my clan. Of home."

He could only describe whatever he was feeling in his chest as warmth and love, taking over whatever soreness he was still feeling from his wound. He looks away from the armband and peers up at you with a wordless question in his eyes. Warmth spreads in his stomach when you understand his silent question and you assist him in putting on the armband without another word. It fit perfectly on him, and it was even better knowing that you made it. 

"Thank you, ma'tìyawn. This means so much to me," his head and ears began to lower in shame, "I'm sorry I didn't make anything for you."

"It's alright," you whisper gently, swallowing a small cry that threatens to escape as you shakily exhale, "I... I would rather have you alive than a piece of jewelry."

He immediately moves to comfort you, staying on his back knowing that his mother would scold him but taking your hand in his once again and placing a kiss in the center of your palm, "Once I'm healed, I would like to ask your family for their permission to court you officially. I want to make proper jewelry for you, one that perfectly resembles your own clan."

A darker shade of blue crept over your face but you were too happy to notice, bashful yet relieved that your feelings were reciprocated, "Once you are healed, you can do so."

"And... And I want to take you back to the forests where I grew up," he admits quietly, "I want to introduce you to the Omatikaya, all my friends and family back home. I don't think we would be able to stay there because of the war, but I want to bring you for a visit."

You beam with wonder and excitement, stomach flipping at the thought of future plans being made with your young lover, "I would love to go meet your clan. We will go when there is time."

Then, you lift a hand up to him, pointing out the last finger on your hand as you confidently declare, "Pinky promise."

His expression melts into a sweet, fond smile, carefully lifting his hand up and linking your smallest fingers together, "You remembered..."
