I updated my resources page to include a few programs & utilities I use that I think everyone would benefit from! Veteran players probably know at least a couple of these very well, but hopefully some players can benefit from this! Sharing the information here too so it can be saved more easily if anyone wants to. But the Resources link in my pinned post also has this section now.

This isn’t a comprehensive list of all TS2 outside programs and utilities I use, as some are more infrequent and specialized, or tailored to CC makers or intermediate and advanced builders. These are ones I use regularly and would recommend for your average player. 

Hood Checker - checks your hood and cleans it up to prevent corruption. Thanks to April Black’s work we now know corruption is far less of a risk than once believed, but this tool is still totally worthwhile to use regularly to clean your hoods I think. As April mentions in her video, the main categories you should be worried about Hood Checker finding errors in are Family Ties and Sim Wants and Fears (I’ve never had it find errors there and my hood has currently been played for over 6 years).

Object Relocator - Easy to use tool so you can recategorize objects, re-price them, and move them easily between build and buy mode. All things you can do with SimPE but far less fussy and way faster.

Outfit Organizer - Another tool that simplifies an established SimPE capability, you can very quickly change which outfit categories clothing shows up in, which age groups (assuming body type compatibility, it will not magically morph an adult outfit to fit teens for example), which gender (again assuming body type compatibility, for example all ages up through child have identical body types for male and female) and even shoe sounds where applicable. Really great if you want that fancy dress to only show in formal and not everyday, or if you’ve got the Separates For All mod and you want to make that really casual t-shirt available in the pajamas and gym categories too.

Sims2Pack Clean Installer - Sims2Pack file types are used for lots and Sims. This tool lets you see any and all CC that got packaged with the Sim/lot and remove anything you don’t want to download with a simple tickbox. I especially like to use this when downloading Sims with CC if I prefer to have a CC free version of them (ie: only their facial structure) and layer in my own CC in game. Also useful for lots if you see that there is a bunch of CC included from a build set you already have, and you don’t want to download duplicate files, or you just aren’t interested in any of the custom wallpaper the builder put in the house and you’ll put your own in when you place in  your game.

Also tbh I'm fucking sick of students using AI to even generate ideas. Like fucking do the research/brainstorming yourself too, that's how to truly get original, intriguing ideas. Read other scholars, read other papers, or whatever else is pertinent in a field of study, but fuck off with asking AI for themeatic ideas on how to do a queer reading of literature or whatever else. Because bigger, wider, incisive questions never get contemplated that way. You just do what a machine tells you to do. There's zero accomplishment in that.

#utilizing this is also a great way to gather the resources you'll need to cite as well #since your research/brainstorming is centred around these typically #then you've already done the “finding” aspect and can cite what youve found #but no! god forbid anyone take time or do hard work!! #indeed institutions themselves are really at fault for this bc they create such a pressured atmosphere that students do turn to using AI #what a diseased system. what a heartbreaking travesty to be honest

She finds out about the Archeron ties to the city. Someone's going to tell her about the contract that will kill the ruling class of Night. She is the only rational one left on the ruling council.

If there were an emotional scale for the IC charting from Azriel at one end- having a centuries late break down, genuinely contemplating murder, off the rails, wings on fire, carnivorous shadows CHAOS- Mor would be dead in the middle- bristling with some kind of SOMETHING and concerned but not like. enough to do anything differently- Amren would round out the other side.

She's watching this all happen and gently yawning.

She's infinitely old.

We're pre-theft (which, ho boy, is going to be a fun one), but post almost everything else. Amren has been waiting out whatever stupid thing she knows Rhys will do, busy being a time bomb with a mate who?? doesn't know she's his mate? ridiculous, thinks Amren.

The thing is, she likes the Night Court. She also, at times, cannot help but look upon all these creatures around her like they're very small, brightly colored bugs and she's a hobbyist entomologist on her third aperol spritz watching them buzz flowers she planted, or occasionally die running into windows.

Amren knows things.

She's been waiting for Feyre to reveal some kind of SOME interesting Archeron intrepidness. For Rhysand to look at just the right record. For Feyre to try to go to the bank alone.

(For Azriel to pick up a crystal pitcher and physically start bludgeoning Rhys)

She IS rational, but like. Her goals aren't really...other people's goals. She's interested by what's happening. She has some serious thoughts about the current regimes long term trajectory. (Amren comes SWINGING into the Effloresce narrative.)

What's different, is that she's Night's second.

She's old enough she doesn't really make promises. But when she does, she keeps them. She's going to protect the Night Court, for the best possible future of the Night Court.

#basically I think Amren is the MOST under utilized resource #which is in itself a good quiet example of Rhysand's towering arrogance #people complained about us not seeing enough of her power #but like #why is the first scariest line of defense not...just..Amren's endless centuries of knowledge?? #she's smugly waiting for the exact right moment or question #you can't die and you've been alive basically forever #war is both deeply sad and probably pretty compelling #characters like her have to either be touched by otherworldly sadness OR a totally alien resolve #and I think the along for the ride beauty of the quick burn weird specific morals of it all suits her SO MUCH better than perpetual grief #Amren has been sitting on prime gossip for 100+ years shes ready to meet Nesta #I literally made this joke in another fic #but Amren thinks Feyre will be more interesting when she's done cooking #she's a little baby dough

House Rabbit Society Shut the Absolute Fuck Up challenge

You have no idea what you're talking about regarding literally anything for rabbits. Literally shut the fuck up. Fuck all of you.

#apparently they put out a news release saying that #the rabbits on the petting table at the PA Farm Show are all getting euthanized (without being used for meat) after the show is over #and that they all specifically were bred to be put there and die. #dude literally think before you fucking speak #that would be such a huge waste of time and energy and money and resources #the rabbits on that table are either rabbits that were entered but didnt win enough to get a designated coop at the show #or rabbits that did get a designated coop but the breeder decided they wanted to let the public interact with them #or yes - sometimes they are culls that were already going to be euthanized anyways (usually also used for meat) #the entire point of the petting table is to get the public to interact with breeds they likely have never heard of before. #to get them to care about all the breeds that exist and consider helping to keep those breeds going. #most of the time those rabbits are still important to their breeders' program in some way or could be given to another breeder #to euthanize them would generally be a waste - a HUGE waste if they're not even being utilized for meat or fur. #yes RVHD2 is a threat but A. the rabbits at the show have been vaccinated per the rules of the show and #B. any good breeder will quarantine a rabbit after a show regardless. #euthanasia is not a necessity here. #so HRS please do rabbits a favor and get your heads out of your damn asses #rabbits #house rabbit society #hrs #show rabbits

On Tumblr's process of changing everything to NPF, staff has added metadata (details) to NPF audio inserts to reflect what was originally entered when it was posted. Unfortunately, they're unstyled for now, so I wrote a plugin that mimics the appearance of Tumblr's legacy audio player.
