God’s Law is more real and lasting than the stars in the sky and the ground at your feet. Long after stars burn out and earth wears out, God’s Law will be alive and working.

But the Greatest of These Is ...
If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal. And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is…

The Bible And Mass
I thought I’d start with this, since it is Sunday. So, the Catholic Mass has much more quotes from the Bible than any other Church service does. As for the “main readings”, we have three readings at Sunday Mass/weekend Mass (because there is a Saturday night Mass offered just in case you can’t wake up in time to make it to Mass in the morning), and two readings on weekdays. (There are up to nine readings on the Easter Vigil, which is the night before Easter; the Saturday night Mass the day before Easter.) There also are Responsorial Psalms between readings, which are taken typically from the Psalms, but could be from a few other Books as well. We sing the Responsorial Psalms just like the Apostles do. To clarify on where the readings from the Bible are from, the first reading is from the Old Testament, the second is from the Epistles/Letters in the New Testament, and the third reading is the Gospel reading which comes from any of the four Gospels. On weekday Masses, there is the Old Testament reading and the Gospel reading, with a Responsorial Psalm in between.
Beyond that, a lot of the words we say at Mass come straight from the Bible. (Including the songs!) We sing along with the Angels, the Hosana in the highest; we pray the Lamb of God prayer that John says in the Bible. (Lamb Of God, have mercy on us, etc...) We pray the Our Father/The Lord’s Prayer at Mass (including the bits that are usually quoted in the Protestant Lord’s Prayer art). We also give peace with the same prayer used in the Bible, Peace be with you. Also the Eucharistic prayer comes straight from the Bible as well. (The words Jesus said at the Last Supper.) And we even pray with the Centurion whose servant was healed. (The only difference is Servant is replaced with Soul).  I know that Dr. Scott Hahn comes to mind right away for me, because he can tell you exactly where in the Bible each response and prayer comes from. Particularly, if you listen to his conversation story which can be heard free online or if you listen to or read The Lamb’s Supper by Scott Hahn.  The Mass is packed with Sacred Scripture and also shown in Sacred Scripture. If you read the Book of Revelation, one of Saint John the Evangelist’s vision includes Mass. The images line up perfectly. It’s been a while since I’ve read Revelation from beginning to end, and it’s on my list of things to do coming up, that hopefully I’ll get to soon.

Sirach 48:10b
Let us pray for all those in fractured relationship with their parents over their sexuality and gender this Pride month.
May those prodigal parents who reject their children come to see the light of Christ’s love and return their hearts rightfully.
Be merciful, O Lord.

You’re familiar with the old written law, ‘Love your friend,’ and its unwritten companion, ‘Hate your enemy.’ I’m challenging that. I’m telling you to [genuinely] love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond [not with churlish indignation but] with the supple moves of prayer, for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves. This is what God does. He gives his best— the sun to warm and the rain to nourish— to everyone, regardless: the good and bad, the nice and nasty. If all you do is love the lovable, do you expect a bonus? Anybody can do that. If you simply say hello to those who greet you, do you expect a medal? Any run-of-the-mill sinner does that. [God is calling you to a higher standard-- one of spiritual maturity, not immature pride!] In a word, what I’m saying is, Grow up. You’re Kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you.
Matthew 5:43-48 MSG

it's also funny how painfully the mormon church wants to rebrand itself as just another (pretty conservative and hierarchical) flavor of american protestantism, but they're wedding to a bunch of weird metaphysical and historical claims that are indispensible to their identity and also deeply alienating to other christians. on the one hand, this feels unfair: all the mormons i've ever known personally have been truly lovely people. prejudice against mormons feels deeply unfair given that there are plenty of american protestants who believe crazy stuff. but like also. it is the scientology of american christianity.

“hades would’ve possibly been a better dad then lloyd’s actual dad. also wouldn’t that make antigone think lloyd’s a demigod.” Haha, everyone says that, I think it’s part of his dad’s tragedy too tbh. So Garmadon’s dad (aka Lloyd’s grandfather) is basically Lego Ninja God. He was bitten by an evil snake that doomed to turn him evil and he tried to fight the venom’s influence for years. Like a millennia. He was bitten when he was like 6-10 btw. Actually a good dad in S4 when he gets cured. Cared about his son even during the villain arc if before the show’s reboot and expansion. One of those comedic evil villains. The island of Ninjago is cut into a Yin-Yang circle. There’s a battle between good and evil a lot of this show and balance. Anyways, Lloyd essentially IS a demi-god bc his grandfather is a child born from Oni and Dragon and created Ninjago and some other Realms apparently, and supposedly created his two sons (Wu and Garmadon) from thin air. And both Lloyd and Antigone were looked after by their Uncle’s so. HMM. (And yeah I meant discord in general. We have a pin of all the inside jokes to explain to new members. That google docs is the ancient scripture lol. I compared that to the ancient scripture of potential fanfics for this pairing. Wanna know what happened during OP’s poll? Read the fic! type of deal, tho ngl I briefly considered making a discord for this.)
what the fuck is up with this kid
