Whale, that dolphinately seals it!
___
Witness the momentous climax to the thrilling theological drama that has critics and audiences everywhere saying...
"One of the most spiritually enveloping stories of the century."
-- Ben, 41
"The story was so deep, I was able to bury all four bodies in it. The police will never know."
-- Max, 18
"I was lost in the deep psyche of our main characters. It took me three days to scavenge something palatable out of their abstract thought, and two more to make a decent shelter with dried bits of cynicism I found lying around their subconscious. Six years later I still haven't found an exit, and I'm running out of resources. I don't think I'll ever see my children again. I wish I could tell them that I loved them, just one last time."
-- Kathy, 34 ___
JOKE-OGRAPHY: 1. The prophet says God will not ignore the orphan's WAIL (as in "cry for help") but the orphan and orca in the crowd think he said WHALE (as in "a mammal impersonating a fish").  The colloquial name for orcas is "killer whales", so the orphan's whale believes that he's finally being welcomed into God's fold, despite the fact that orcas are actually a type of dolphin. 2. "The Purpose Driven Life" is a famous bible study book that takes readers through a 40-day personal spiritual journey.  Since this orca seems to be on a spiritual journey, I applied the title to his story, but changed "purpose" to "porpoise", because a porpoise is another category of marine mammal similar to dolphins and whales. ___
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is actually a Tomics Resurrection, where I've taken an old, rundown cartoon of mine and waterboarded it until it came clean.  Now it's shiny and new!  Here's the original for comparison:

Sure, tumblr should be anonymous. But heres a face reveal anyway.
As I am reading the book of Sirach, I have read many meaningful verses about many good friendships. As I hang out with my best friend today [who took this photo]. I want to share some verses that reflect the joy I have of being about having a best friend so wonderful in my life! His brotherly love has blessed my heart and my life. Forever grateful.
The Book of Sirach
Chapter 6 Verses 6
Be at peace with many but let one in a thousand be your counselor.
Chapter 6 Verses 14-15
A faithful friend is a strong defense and he who has found one has found a treasure. Nothing can be compared to a faithful friend and no weight of gold or silver is able to unbalance the goodness of his fidelity.
Chapter 22 Verses 25-27
He who throws a stone at birds scares them off and he who unreasonably scolds his friend breaks his friendship. But even if you have drawn a sword on a friend, do not despair; there is a way back. If you have reviled a friend, do not fear, for there can be a reconciliation.
Chapter 25 verses 1-2
A faithful friend is a strong defense and he who has found one has found a treasure. Nothing can be compared to a faithful friend and no weight of gold or silver is able to unbalance. With three things my spirit is pleased which are approved before God and men: the friendship of brothers, the love of neighbors and man and wife who live well together.
Chapter 25 Verse 12
Blessed is he who finds a true friend and declares justice to one who listens.

Out of the hands of them that sought my life, and from the gates of afflictions, which compassed me about: From the oppression of the flame which surrounded me, and in the midst of the fire I was not burnt. From the depth of the belly of hell, and from an unclean tongue, and from lying words, from an unjust king, and from a slanderous tongue: My soul shall praise the Lord even to death. And my life was drawing near to hell beneath. They compassed me on every side, and there was no one that would help me. I looked for the succour of men, and there was none. I remembered thy mercy, O Lord, and thy works, which are from the beginning of the world. How thou deliverest them that wait for thee, O Lord, and savest them out of the hands of the nations. Thou hast exalted my dwelling place upon the earth and I have prayed for death to pass away. I called upon the Lord, the father of my Lord, that he would not leave me in the day of my trouble, and in the time of the proud without help. I will praise thy name continually, and will praise it with thanksgiving, and my prayer was heard. And thou hast saved me from destruction, and hast delivered me from the evil time. Therefore I will give thanks, and praise thee, and bless the name of the Lord.

Sirach 48:10b
Let us pray for all those in fractured relationship with their parents over their sexuality and gender this Pride month.
May those prodigal parents who reject their children come to see the light of Christ’s love and return their hearts rightfully.
Be merciful, O Lord.

Misconceptions of the Hebrew Israelite Woman
Tumblr media
I have seen far too often on social media other women of color coming to very wrong conclusions about Israelite women. Especially christians and this is what fascinates me. The only difference between the two groups (black christian women and israelite women) is that one group keeps the scriptures to the best of their abilities and the other only proclaims to. For me it doesn't matter what you label yourself, what truly matters is how you are showing forth your beliefs. Scripture tells women how they should be, and it also gives us examples through women like Sarah. If you are a descendant of the slave trade and have ancestors that endured the 400 years of curses/slavery spoke of in Deuteronomy then you must also understand that you are a child of Israel. If you are a woman, this understanding comes with certain expectations; submission, modesty, meekness and humility are pillars that hold us firm in the word, truth and light that is our Ala'aym YA'OH or as some know Him (Yah, Yahweh, God). Proverbs 31 is often referenced to describe a good woman but in order to make it to that position you would first have to be a wife. In order to become a wife you must live and prove yourself daily through submission and humility. This can be shown through covering your body with modesty, guarding your lips by speaking less, giving men respect and taking care of your temple by saving yourself for marriage. These are all biblical qualities any woman that claims to believe in the scriptures should exemplify. Sirach 25 is a great chapter to study as a woman, to make sure that you do not fit any of those descriptions. The contention between sisters that claim to believe the same book hopefully will come to an end very soon. YA'OH is looking down on us as women and expecting us to follow his word and keep his commandments. As a woman , in my opinion, as a Yasharaliy (Israelite) our main goal is to become wives and mothers. There is no greater assignment that Yah has given us, and our men need us to put our pride aside and take our place by their sides as ribs. We are needed in that capacity and the false reality this Babylon has created has caused much confusion. Hence why He who finds a wife finds a good thing.. It's too many sisters that think so many other things are more important than keeping the Most High's word. May Yah continue to show our sisters who He is to their Face so that the truth of the matter can no longer be denied.
"I had rather dwell with a lion and a dragon, than to keep house with a wicked woman." Sirach (Ecclesiasticus) 25:17

2023 MAY 30 Tuesday
"To keep the law is a great oblation,
and He who observes the commandments sacrifices a peace offering.
In works of charity one offers fine flour,
and when he gives alms he presents his sacrifice of praise.
To refrain from evil pleases the LORD, and to avoid injustice is an atonement.
Appear not before the LORD empty-handed, for all that you offer is in fulfillment of the precepts.
The just man's offering enriches the altar and rises as a sweet odor before the Most High.
The just man's sacrifice is most pleasing, nor will it ever be forgotten.
In generous spirit pay homage to the LORD, be not sparing of freewill gifts.
With each contribution show a cheerful countenance, and pay your tithes in a spirit of joy.
Give to the Most High as he has given to you, generously, according to your means.
For the LORD is one who always repays, and he will give back to you sevenfold.
But offer no bribes, these he does not accept! Trust not in sacrifice of the fruits of extortion,
For he is a God of justice, who knows no favorites."

#31 Apocryphal Books of Value and Not of Value
Apocryphal books not included in Catholic Bibles 3 and 4 Maccabees The books 3 and 4 Maccabees were written in Greek and conserved only in Constantinople by Orthodox Christians.  They are not used or recognized by Catholics or Protestants. The theme of these two books follows the details of martyrdoms among Jewish Maccabean followers, especially the martyrdom of Eleazar. The mention of Simon…

Wisdom of Sirach
The first reading for today comes from the Book of Sirach (also known as the Wisdom of Ben Sira and as Ecclesiasticus, or more literally, “Church Book.”) The author, a sage who lived in Jerusalem, was thoroughly imbued with love for the wisdom tradition, and also for the law, priesthood, Temple, and divine worship. As a wise and experienced observer of life he addressed himself to his…

Meet the Artist: @mattsirach
Hello there! My name is Matt Sirach, and I’m an illustrator, cartoonist, and designer with a degree in Architecture and a passion for wallpaper. I’ve been afflicted since childhood with a particularly stubborn case of Anglophilia—we’ve tried everything from bloodletting to mesmerism—yet it keeps inevitably influencing my art and taste. Most of—if not all—my illustrations are set in a timeframe ranging from the late Victorian Era to the 1930s: I like the clothes, I like the interiors, I like the graphics and the design, and I find the societal affectations of that time endlessly amusing. I gravitate towards humor and comedy always—even when I design wallpapers—and I like my illustrations to be dynamic and tell a story in the most succinct way possible. I work mainly traditionally—with nibs, ink, watercolors, and gouache—with a bit of digital enhancement.
Nice to meet you, Matt! Below are some pieces he has shared with you all.
