I had stopped being able to read the naruto manga way back near the beginning of shippuden (it was still coming out at the time) due to the store I had access to not bothering to carry the volumes anymore (man am I old 🤣) then different fandoms caught me and years go by so my mind has the sasuke naruto meeting with sasuke draping himself over naruto to threaten him and sakura being competent with healing kankuro and fighting sasori... so I was...confused when I recently fell back into the fandom why sakura would even be with sasuke...as I felt mature medic nine fighter girl would have understood that she'd had a crush and moved on.

Like, Naruto and Sasuke had so much stuff between them I get why they haven't let each other go.

So it seemed weird as hell that sakura would even still "like" sasuke... as her original feelings stemmed from childish "he's so cute and broody" which is okay in a 12 year old girl but less okay as an adult woman...

The naruhina I though, ah, he and hinata must have had many moments in all the parts I've missed, and bonded...oh...she just...endangers herself and confesses to which naruto doesn't react at all...and then their married...

As a shonen manga I figured we wouldn't get a blatant narusasu ending (even though they are the best) ...I'm even a cheery multishipper often for characters I like but...it was so sad. I'd of been happier to have it end with shion just randomly turning up to have naruto keep his baby making promise...

Anywho sorry for blathering on.

I adore your art as well, it's super pretty and I need all the naruto x sasuke content to heal my shipper soul...

Yeah, Sakura never matured in that department. Even in the sequel where she’s supposedly married to Sasuke, Ino derisively says she’ll forever stay a girl in love. Like the story had to spell it out for readers. There is this weird vibe between her and Sarada when it comes to Sasuke.. I don’t even know how to describe it but it’s creepy. Even when there is a kid involved somehow and they speak of marriage, Sasuke gives her no reason to love him romantically and it surprises her still that he showed no concern for her life whatsoever. Sasuke, who expresses through action in most cases, is still as indifferent as ever towards her.

Sakura has moments where she shows some care for characters, mainly driven by her being a medic, but emotionally, it is bizarre how little she cares about Sasuke and yet, at the same time seems to only care about him... if it involves herself. She doesn’t even question why Sasuke does what he does or tries to understand how he feels. Even when she gets fed little snippets of his pain or the source of that, she doesn’t try to find an answer. In the very end she doesn’t even give a shit about his reason to travel or defend his words regarding "redemption". She felt entitled to an apology while she was the one going up to him with the intention to kill him. Even when he tries to explain why he wants to travel, she just cuts off his words because she wants to go with him regardless of his intentions or goals. I get why some people wanted a development for Sakura where she’d be able to let that crush for him go, but story-wise? That would take a lot from Kishimoto because there is also a lot of insecurity involved too.. And frankly, she's very much a red herring :')

Meh, nh... I have nothing to say.

Well, SNS-fans often say their story is very tragic. But that’s not just how we feel, it IS a fact that Naruto and Sasuke went from receiving a semi-sweet/bitter-sweet (depends on how you look at it as we got a resolve but not a clear resolution yet) in ch 698/699 to a bitter ending in 700 where they suddenly not only didn’t have what they wanted, but certainly not what they needed either. To combat that in the sequel, they shoved all the problems of the world onto a bunch of aliens... distracting everyone from the hypocrisy of the system. Neither Naruto or Sasuke got to work on the thing they wanted and their internal desires were completely massacred for the sake of these kids. And both of them have shown that if they don’t have what they need, they will fail the thing they ultimately want. Meaning, the Shinobi world will forever stay the same while spitting on their dream for the future and the trauma they had to go through because of it. It’s not even about SNS or the story being Shonen... but the concept, which Sasuke talked about at the end that was supposed to be a vehicle for a better world is completely retconned.

... but I’m happy that besides that, SNS is still widely and largely celebrated regardless. And that says a lot! I’m happy to hear you like my art 🥰💕 that really means a lot, thankyou so much!! (I’m trying to heal myself through them too ;-;!)

Lavender Clouds’ romance was slow and sad at the time, and I wanted something that was more fluff and snuggles. There are two scenes of Sasuke at his rock-bottom phase in Lavender Sand that I wanted to play with. So Lavender Memories was born of both. Present-day Sasuke is a man already in love, and flashback Sasuke starts at rock bottom and grows to be the loving husband he will be. Best of both worlds.

This story, I think, started my love for needless domestic fluff in between the drama. Lavender Clouds and Lavender Sands had some, but Lavender Memories was what pushed it to become my main writing style. Plot angst with domestic fluff respite.

Honestly, nothing is a bigger turn-on than someone actively respecting your boundaries and doing everything in their power to make sure that you are comfortable. Sasuke just really loves his wife and wants her to feel comfortable and loved, and that is everything to me.

Someone once told me that my stories are angst with the warm feeling that everything is going to be okay, and I think this story was me perfecting that.

Lavender Memories is by far the most popular story I have ever put out, and someday I would like to make a Red Memories with the roles switched. Someday soon, maybe.

The ‘Don’t go. Don’t let me.’ first kiss scene may be the best scene I ever wrote, and I would love fan art of it. >///<

Formatting the italics for flashbacks is the bane of my existence because neither ff.net nor AO3 consistently keeps them from my docs.

I remember when I first got into the fandom. Girl I had no clue there was a difference between SN and NS. I thought their ship name was SN so I would look up content for them under that and I would get so weirded out. I was like damn the Naruto x Sasuke fandom is weird 😕 most of the time in fan art and fanfics they are just so ooc and are usually JUST about sex. When I found out there was a different between SN and NS and I would look up NS, I was like oh look now they’re portrayed normally. When they have sex, their dynamic doesn’t change, it’s just Naruto and Sasuke having sex. Of course there are NS that go too far and just make it weird 😐 but 90% of the time, NS content is just the closest to cannon.

i get what you’re saying really. it’s so weird that they can pick on the gay writing and everything and still miss the point and make it weird as fuck. and i’m not saying ns don’t do that as well because some do, but it’s so much more difficult to find it proportionally. they act much like ss/nh shippers, the self insert is clear, they fetishise and make everything about sex somehow, the only difference is that naruto actually loves sasuke and vice versa, so they have the manga on their side but they still use it all wrong. to me it just really feels like they could use ss/nh but they notice the boys don’t love the girls and they want to have evidence. and then they will apply their heterosexual fantasies onto naruto and sasuke dynamics, just like ss, and turn sasuke into some kind of asshole horny alpha male and naruto into some kind of sakura/hinata that is meek and innocent and pathetic (and feminise him), even though these are characteristics sasuke rejects. the closest sasuke gets to respect sakura is when she isn’t lowering her head and crying or blushing and begging him to love her, even though she’s still trying to get his attention (and he notices that later). sasuke loves naruto the way naruto is! naruto that is messy and loud, naruto that is rude and honest and doesn’t change his personality in front of the others to make himself more palatable, naruto that is strong and never gives up. you don’t have to change a single thing to make them love each other because they already do in canon and you can write normal sex however you want with their own personalities

do you ever get hate from people for this blog? like do people assume you’re antiship (pretty sure you aren’t because i seen you reblog from proshippers) and tell you that you shouldn’t get offended over davekat because they aren’t real? like im sure everyone knows fictional characters are real, even if someone did think a character was real i think that would be some kind of disorder where you think fake stuff is real

I do get hate. I get insults like touch grass, being called a moron, wasting my productive life on hosting it, and the usual "please commit suicide" ala Anon. Because nobody has the balls to say KYS with their personal blog or profile exposed. I won't even call them out if they do. At best, I will just ignore or block the son of a bitch that told me to die. I am an anti in terms of not being a fan of the ship. As old Internet days if part of the fandom, you can see people that are things like Anti-SasuSaku (Sasuke x Sakura) or Anti-ZADR (Zim and Dib Romance). Someone who is not a fan of a major or popular ship within the community. Some go as far to draw art that expresses it. It doesn't apply to ships, but characters as well. You now rarely see it these days. Especially on a character itself. Most of the anti in early days, for example, hated how female main characters were portrayed in the media they were from, see Sakura Haruno from Naruto. But now, you can't since you'd be probably get labeled as sexist or something worse. Of course, there were antis related to male characters, but it wasn't as prominent as the girls. Mostly because series that focus on the boys, shonen genre being the most popular one at the time, that girls don't get much great development compared to the main boys. Yeah, I get moments of Anons telling me that Davekat isn't real and shouldn't get offended by it. I know they aren't real. I just wish to criticize it from how it harmed the series itself and how some people within the fandom acted. Though if they say I shouldn't be offended by Davekat because those characters are fake, then that means they should not be offended if people ship Kanaya or Dirk with the opposite gender, despite having interest in the same sex or is canonically with someone of said same sex. Not only that, someone like them should also not be offended by loli characters because they are also drawings. It doesn't mean people who make them are pedophiles. But they will be upset if I point that out.

B - A pairing you initially didn’t consider but someone changed your mind

If I have to choose which pairing came into mind, it's Fukami x Dolphi from WATGBS. That being their older versions that is. I remembered browsing around I think either Pixiv or Lofter back in 2014 and I stumbled upon a cute fanart of the older versions of them, Dolphi sleeping on Fukami's shoulder while I thiiink he was slightly blushing in the pic. Seeing this fanart, I didn't shipped them at first but I thought it was pretty cute and they had potential! Then later, someone in the fandom discovered that fanart and from there they made a whole new revolution of them creating a cute askblog and created lots of cute fanarts of them and yeah! Because of them, I ended up shipping them! 🐙🐬💞

C - A pairing you have never liked and probably never will

I have like maybe 6 NOTP's(???) that makes my blood boil LOL but I guess I'll name them

Wadanohara x anybody else but except Samekichi (Out of all wada pairings I hate the most is SalWada. I still very much hate the ship to this very day and even seeing it on sight makes me reaaaaaalllly severely uncomfortable)

Tao Ren x anybody else but except Jeanne

Iron Maiden Jeanne x anybody else but except Ren. (Honestly the only Shaman King ship that makes my blood boil is Hao x Jeanne, I hate it a lot)

I also don't ship Hao with no one either, he's better off being single :p

I'm also not the biggest fan of OC x Canon pairings either since majority of the ships I like most of the time, I just can't stand see them being paired off with anyone else (I'm not a multishipper in general either) BUT if anyone enjoys this then your absolutely valid and cool. It's just not for me so I really try to avoid and filter/block this out.

F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom

I doubt I'll remember but in almost all fandoms I'm in are mostly only in the shipping sides

2007 - 2012 (5 years): SasuSaku (Sasuke x Sakura from naruto)

2014 - 2019 (5 years): Samewada (Samekichi x Wadanohara from WATGBS)

2015 - now (As of 8 years atm) RenMei (Tao Ren x Iron Maiden Jeanne from Shaman King). Fun fact: I kiiinda did peak at the SK fandom from afar after I finished watching the 01 anime in 2015 during my spring break in school at the time but I never touched the main fandom cuz everyone during that time was hostile towards RenMei and there was too many RenMei antis so I would take a peek from time to time and eventually moved on, only until around 2018 Takei drew their official wedding art, made even more RenMei crumbs in Red Crimson/Marcos and from then on I got heavily invested in the ship

G - Do you remember your first OTP, if so who was in it

Sasuke Uchiha x Sakura Haruno from Naruto. Been shipping them since 2007 and still ship them to this very day. So 16 years, I'm a veteran fan haha

I - Has tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why

Sadly yeaaaaa uhhh...

DSP (Deep sea prisoner). I ended up not vibing in the fandom because there were too many antis, wasn't a huge fan of many dark icky fanarts in general, there was also some fans that acted like supremacists, too many dramas would keep occuring (I remembered the dark days when the Mogeko Critical blogs were active from late 2016 to 2018) and yeah I excluded myself out somewhere in I think 2017 or 2018, it wasn't worth it.

Shaman King. Just like how I explained in the F section, the fandom had waaaayyy too many RenMei antis, heck RenMei is still hated by the fandom, a lot of huge popular blogs in the fandom back in the day treated RenMei shippers horribly (I'm not kidding) ranging from sending hate/death threats and ostracizing RenMei shippers out from the fandom, no one stood up for RenMei shippers when they were getting bashed for shipping Ren x Jeanne and it was awful. I even had a few friends back in the day that either got chased out from the fandom for having an opinion on them and another case was them being bullied to the point they ended up having traumatic experiences, left the fandom and it took them years to recover in therapy. People in the fandom straight up called us shippers terrible awful human beings for shipping a 4 year age gap and we should feel ashamed for it (And it gets even worse because the same people that called us bad awful human beings are also hypocrites and also ship problematic age gap ships in SK... and yet Renmei is somehow still considered the worst pairing???) Aaaand yeah because of the tumblr experience I've witnessed from afar, I didn't enter the fandom. (Until yeaaaars later I kinda tried to, in a discord server but I ended up not liking the experience as a whole because ppl on the server barely shipped RenMei, ppl got away with shitting on RenMei on there, I got blocked by a ex staff for shipping RenMei and almost most of the staff members are all RenMei antis and because of this experience, I completely gave up trying to be part of the SK fandom, it was not worth it as a RenMei shipper)

K - How do you feel about the other people in your current fandom

In the western side, everyone is really nice in the RenMei fandom even if it's really small. I used to be lonely for being the only hardcore shipper for them until 2 hardcore friends came along and I don't feel lonely anymore. I just recently became friends with a RenMei friend (Who was a veteran fan) a few months ago and I've had the most absolute time of my life hanging out talking and drawing the ship with them nearly almost everyday.

As for the JP fandom, I vibe with almost everyone on there as well, everyone is very supportive of the ship. Though I do have to admit, I kiiinda don't vibe well with a few fans sexualizing the younger kid versions of RenMei but we won't talk any further about that...
