part 2
“Satoru? What color are your eyes?” Geto asks one day, when they’re sprawled on the couch together. Gojo’s head is pillowed on Geto’s chest, where the snakes happily nestle in Gojo’s fluffy hair.
“Hm, blue.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
Geto is silent for a long moment.
“I bet they’re magnificent,” Geto says, then startles when Gojo lifts up slightly, one hand tugging underneath the blindfold. “Satoru, whatever you’re planning to do, stop it.”
“Darling, I’ll keep my eyes closed, I promise,” Gojo solemnly swears. He waits until Geto gives his consent before lifting the blindfold off, diligently keeping his eyes glued shut.
Geto observes the shape of his lover’s closed lids, how his eyes contribute to his facial structure, and the white color of his lashes.
“Pretty, right?”
Geto nods. “Hn.”
Geto still doesn’t trust himself without the trusty barrier of the blindfold.
Thus, he brings a hand up to cover Gojo’s closed eyes, and leans in for a kiss.
***
Gojo buys Geto a pair of his own special-grade glasses that block Geto’s entire field of vision, ensuring he can see perfectly fine while others will never make direct eye contact with him.
It’s certainly an adjustment for Geto because the glasses, shaped like visors, feel very restricting. His snakes hiss at the glasses because they don’t don’t like not being able to see Geto’s eyes.
But the glasses do give Geto more confidence in leaving the cottage to prevent him from freezing any innocent bypassers.
***
Once, when Geto is out on his own, he spots a couple kids wearing the same style uniform as Gojo often does. Jujutsu Tech!
Geto decides to watch over them.
Thank fucking god he did, because there’s no way in hell whoever the fuck is in charge just let these kids walk straight into a curse’s domain.
Before Yuji switches with Sukuna, Geto intercepts and annihilates the other special grade, even without the powers of his eyes. Once the job is done, Yuji jogs up to his side.
Yuji: “Hey, thank you so much-GAH?“
At the speed of light, Geto pulls Yuji out of the crumbling domain and disappears.
The first years are completely bamboozled by what happened!
(Yuji: “Gojo-sensei, that special curse showed up again today! Well it didn’t need to help because Kugisaki and Fushiguro and I had everything handled, but I could feel it watching. Isn’t that weird?”
Gojo: “Huh, that is strange indeed.”)
Afterward, Geto presents Sukuna’s finger to Gojo. Gojo realizes Geto was looking after his students, and falls even deeper in love with him.
***
Yuuta learned early on who Geto was because once Geto was watching over him but Rika was not having it! 😭
She was like “Who is this beetch?” and tries to off Geto, who flees and never looks back.
The snakes want to pick a fight with Rika so badly, but Geto has to shush them because he’s not sure even HE could take on this kid’s curse.
Also, Geto is technically supposed to be exorcized. That’s what Gojo told the higher-ups, that he had successfully defeated the infamous curse Geto Suguru.
Gojo has to do damage control, of course.
“You have Rika, and I have Suguru,” Gojo says with a shrug. “Simple as that.”
Beside him, Geto’s jaw drops open from the total lack of explanation by the fool that owns his heart. From behind his glasses, Geto pities the way the wheels furiously turn in Yuuta’s mind.
Rika pops out jus to growl at Geto.
Great. Good talk everyone.
Yuuta: “You’re telling me you’re in love with THE special grade, Geto Suguru, who’s been alive for centuries and has been constantly compared to the king of curses, SUKUNA??”
Gojo gives him a thumbs up while Geto smiles with sharp teeth.
***
Gojo Satoru is known as the strongest sorcerer alive, but that doesn’t stop Geto from being incredibly protective of him. While out on a date, Geto brings up the higher ups that clearly do not give a shit about overworking his beloved.
“Say the word and I’ll kill them.”
“I thought you didn't like killing?” Gojo asks with a cheeky smile. He takes a sip of his milkshake, then bumps his foot against Geto’s under the table.
“Satoru, I’m a curse and they are assholes. It’s the natural order of things,” Geto sniffs. His snakes hiss in agreement, very excited at the prospect of killing for Gojo.
Gojo extends his hand out, palm facing up. Geto slides his hand on top. Interlocking their fingers, Gojo conveys all the adoration he can through his uncovered eyes, hoping it penetrates through the special-grade glasses Geto wears.
“I love you too. My one and only.”

My actual canonical interpretation of SatoSugu?
I believe they were the bestest of friends, inseparable soul mates who were mutually in love with each other, but never confessed the depth of their feelings, never discussed their relationship, and never actually made anything out of it.
I believe that Suguru had a massive crush on Satoru throughout their high school years. Satoru was more dense on the other hand and did love Suguru but didn’t know how to place his feelings exactly. Suguru was always by his side and that was enough, he felt secure, so why look into it deeper?
After the trauma from the Star Plasma Vessel mission, Suguru was heartbroken that Satoru left him alone a lot. He missed Satoru and spiraled, self-isolated, started becoming obsessed with his own self-talk about ‘monkeys’ and ‘creating a new world with sorcerers only’. He and Satoru both became self-absorbed. Suguru lost that crush and admiration he had for Satoru even though he still loved him. He wanted his own goals more. So he left.
The second he left, I bet that’s when Satoru realized what Suguru meant to him. That’s probably one of the reasons that Satoru is stuck in the past, because he finally placed his feelings for Suguru, realized he was in love with him, and kept replaying those moments they had together, realizing he never noticed Suguru sending signals, mad at himself for never noticing. He regretted it so badly that he just couldn’t stop living in the past with Suguru. If he’d just paid attention, if he noticed Suguru’s signals, his spiraling, maybe he could have stopped it.
That moment where Suguru returns to the high school to declare war only to leave again, when Satoru watches and watches, (according to the JJK 0 Light Novel) his “eyes kept following the shape of Geto’s soul”. He couldn’t look away. He was filled with so much regret. His entire creed is to raise strong sorcerers together so that no one has to be alone the way Suguru and he ended up.
And when the time came for him to kill Suguru, because last words are so important to him, he finally told Suguru what he should have told him when they were high schoolers. “I love you.”
Suguru, who’d long buried those feelings, probably realized that the things he’d told himself about how Satoru viewed him were wrong. This whole time, Satoru really did love and trust him still. That’s why he smiled. He was loved in return.
“You should at least curse me a little at the end.”
He wishes Satoru would have hated him because now he’s filled with regret. If only they’d had talked sooner, none of this would have happened. Suguru had always placed emphasis on ‘found family’. We see this when he calls Kuroi “Riko’s family” and when he adopts Mimiko and Nanako, as well as the rest of the sorcerers/curse users he rounds up for the Night Parade of 1,000 Demons. With that said, I know for a fact that when they were in high school, he saw Satoru as his family. He saw him as home, as safety, as love.
Really, the only time that he and Satoru aren’t putting on some sort of act is when they’re alone together. It’s strange to see the two of them so serious, especially Satoru, who deflects with humor like his life depends on it. But it’s fitting. They’re just comfortable around each other, there’s no need for masks. They never even seriously raised their hands against each other, nor fatally hurt each other’s family/students.
Now, fast-forward to a year later in Shibuya, when Kenjaku uses the love Satoru and Suguru have for each other against Satoru. How does he know seeing Suguru would have such a drastic effect on Satoru that it would immobilize him completely? Did he watch from afar? Did he keep tabs on them? Or did he see Suguru’s memories somehow? Could he feel how Suguru felt when around Satoru? I’d like to think it was both—Kenjaku kept tabs on them before Suguru died, and gained access to his memories after taking him over.
He even knew the tone Suguru used to use for Satoru’s name. The soft way he called his name. He knew the only thing in the entire world that could stop the strongest sorcerer in modern times was using the love of his life against him.
The smile Satoru had when he thought it was Suguru makes me believe that the only thing he wanted was to see him again.
Then, when he realized it wasn’t him, Kenjaku said “how sad, you don’t recognize me?”
As if to say Suguru would be devasted that Satoru didn’t recognize him. Kenjaku knows how Suguru feels about Satoru.
Then Satoru calls him on his bs and he says “creepy, how did you know?”
Creepy?
The only other time Kenjaku is creeped out is waaaaaaay later in the manga (spoilers ahead) when Satoru sets the fight day to Dec 24th Kenjaku acknowledges that it’s romantic, and that “having a date with him on the 24th gives him the creeps”.
Oh, I know he’s grossed out with how much they love each other. Like. How the hell else do you interpret that???? Come. On.
Add in when Suguru somehow comes back from the dead for a moment and tries to choke his own body to save Satoru. Kenjaku is baffled—that’s never happened before. That is a demonstration of love everlasting, absolutely.
Then you have Shoko’s “I’d never fall in love with either of you, but you were still never alone” to SatoSugu, basically confirming that she knew the two of them shared a romantic bond that she couldn’t replicate the depth of.
So. Yes. They were very very much in love with each other and to this day Satoru loves Suguru with every fiber of his being and lives his life dedicated to atoning for his (self-perceived) failures to Suguru. He thinks about him everyday. He says he was his only friend. He has Shoko, Ijichi, Mei Mei, and Utahime and yet he only sees Suguru. He only sees Suguru.

i can't get over the fact that suguru used past tense
「he was my best friend」
while satoru uses present tense
「my best friend found it... my one and only」
he spent over a decade under the impression that satoru was mad at him. that they were no longer best friends because he left.
「we got into a fight and, well...」
well, what, suguru? i don't think he even knows how to finish that sentence if he were saying it to himself.
but maybe he uses past tense because he himself removed the title from his name. maybe he didn't feel worthy enough to be gojo satoru's best friend.
maybe he thinks he knows satoru better than he actually does. because maybe sometimes there was a bitter taste on his tongue whenever he called his found home his family. thinking it would offend satoru. "we were your family" he could practically hear gojo say. maybe sometimes he turns to his family with a sad smile because he once used to turn around to see different people. the people he left to protect. what he was doing was for them. for satoru, for shoko, for nanami, for haibara, for amanai and kuroi. so he wouldn't have to watch them all drop like flies just like haibara did.
maybe he put the title on hold. until one day. until one day he could face satoru and tell him that they didn't have to be strong anymore. they could be weak and they could be together because there was nothing in the way anymore.
「trust? i thought that was something i lost a long time ago... at least curse me a little at my end」

What are your satosugu fav moments? And what are your fav personal headcanons about them?
Those sweet, egotistical, baby angels. 🤍🖤
For an insane retelling of their whole deal, I kinda talk incessantly about it. I also kinda did a little head canon exercise with a template before? but wasn't sure what you might be in the market for. In any case, roll the tape!
Tumblr media
HEAD CANONS
Gojo has been spouting nonsense all his life but Geto was the first person to try to understand it, even when he couldn't. I'm not going to fault Geto for not being able to catch up on all that Digimon lore. But for the most part, he'd make it a point to ask clarifying questions or brush up on topics Gojo mentions in passing just to keep up with conversation.
In fact, they hated each other when they first met but bonded over one off the cuff comment Gojo made about a band, book or something and, suddenly, they found common ground. After that, they bonded over making Yaga and, later, Nanami's lives interesting ✨
Gojo is the prankster, Geto is the watchman/getaway driver. No one suspects Geto's role in Gojo's tomfoolery. Stealing Maki and Nobara's uniforms with Inumaki and Panda was a rewash of a stunt he pulled when he was in high school (with Geto's help). He fashions a lot of the pranks he pulls as a teacher off the hijinks he and Geto used to get away with. He wears a mirthful smile for his students but the modern times don't hold a candle to the good old days.
They were only children and both of their parents sucked. Actually, maybe Geto had a sibling who was either significantly older or younger (hence how he learned to be so considerate) who passed. Subsequently, Geto's parents were emotionally distant/neglectful starting when they got creeped out by the inexplicable things he could see that they couldn't. It's why he jumped at the chance when he was scouted for Jujutsu High, why he was triggered when he saw the twins, and why he always sought family elsewhere. Gojo's parents seemed to dote on him but didn't bother to get to know or nurture him, just placate him.
They make it a point to tease and call Ieri the little sister they've always wanted... though she is the oldest in the trio. Even so, they spoil her (to the best of Gojo's ability obviously). Example: if her feet hurt on a mission, Geto is giving her a piggyback ride but Gojo's goofy ass is trading shoes. Never mind the comical disparity in shoe sizes. They'd just be clopping around together much to Shoko's faux chagrin.
The three of them would absolutely bed rot together. It may have started with Gojo slinking into Geto's room for attention but they wouldn't leave Ieri out, even if it was a twin size bed. Just listless days between missions and classes where they would languidly ignore the weight of their responsibilities. Some days all contorting to fit on the bed, other days strewn about the room. It was always in Geto's room, Ieri almost always brought face masks (at Gojo's insistence).
Gojo, quite literally, did not understand the concept of personal space when it came to Geto (or Ieri, really). But, most specifically, with the way he'd casually and absently be all over Geto. Arms over his shoulders, tilting his head inward when addressing him, leaning on him during respites in the day, elbowing him in the side to punctuate a joke.. he just never became conscious of it. That is, until he was no longer around. Geto was always like second skin until he wasn't. In addition to the absence of his company, Gojo felt that physical absence so painfully that he used Limitless more and more to distance himself from the idea that anyone had ever been so close.
When Haibara and Nanami come along, Geto takes his role as a senpai really seriously because the stakes are high at the school. Gojo? Does not ✨ but he does force Nanami to use proper honorifics because he knows it drives him up a wall. He makes it a point to tell Haibara to call him whatever, right in front of Nanami. For the record, Haibara does not obey him but still.
Gojo has a name for all of Geto's favorite or most commonly used curses. The same way girls will refer to their crushes with silly little code names, almost. Like Geto knows that the Rainbow Dragon curse is "Rainbow Dash" or "My Little Pony" whereas other curses might have silly names like "Garfunkle" or "Steve" for no other reason than Gojo felt like it, but he's consistent. So once a name is bestowed, Geto refers to them accordingly. He, of course, never approaches them with fear and he's just as endeared to them as he is to Geto.
Before Gojo got the hang of how to optimize his cursed energy, overuse would leave him... not weak but just not agreeable. Clearly cranky and suffering the drawback, Suguru clocked the difference and that's actually when he started to pamper Gojo. It's also the only reason Gojo ever articulated the downsides of his CT to anyone. I don't know if Geto ever told Gojo the extent of his discomfort with his technique. He either felt like he was being burdensome/ungrateful in sharing or he was embarrassed about what it would say about him (re: regularly ingesting things that tasted like vomit). It's one of the only things he remained furtive about when it came to Gojo though he always wondered if Gojo already just knew.
Supported by canon, but, Suguru absolutely carried candy for Satoru (and a lighter for Shoko) because he's just that considerate. Mans was swallowing vomit rags and still concerned about appeasing Satoru's sweet tooth.
Without realizing it, this gesture inspired a Pavlovian effect and made Gojo super clingy. He associates sweetness with Geto and, in his absence, always overdoes it. Especially after he left the school for good. Nothing fills the void.
We know Gojo became a teacher because of Geto but... Geto would have been an excellent teacher.
You see it in the way they raise kids, Gojo makes sure Megumi and Tsumiki don't simply die. They have lavish accommodations but he has no idea how to parent. I love the Papa-Gojo agenda but know he was out of his depth. He was more like a "cool" but irresponsible (read: unstructured) older cousin if anything, not a father figure per se until maybe his late 20's which was a little too late. I think Geto specifically raised Nanako and Himiko like "normal" kids (ironically, humans) instead of the in the misogynistic, classist way of traditional jujutsu society because they deserved a lifetime of young revelry after everything they suffered. It cost them their lives so maybe everything Geto touched was meant to crumble.
As a fandom, I think people like to think they met up in those ten years of separation and I do too? But, realistically, I think Gojo just kept a forlorn bead on Geto and his whereabouts, too uncertain to go to him. 10 years of absence didn't change how he felt about him though.
FAVE MOMENTS
I'm sorry but every single time Geto's Japanese voice actor purrs "Satoru"? Does that count? Allow me to do a cartwheel on a bed of nails because OH MY GOSH they nailed that. You feel the teasing, the intimacy.
Gojo acting a fool on the beach with Riko in Okinawa and Geto looking on affectionately. Geto really allowed space for Gojo to be a kid and gave him some of his youth back.
Every time Geto's facade of calm relaxed or broke entirely because something was going on with Gojo. Like checking in in Okinawa, when Toji initially got the drop on him, when Toji announced he'd killed Satoru Gojo. Every time you see what writhes beneath the surface.
Geto, in a sea of despair and perhaps a sprinkle of bitterness, still thinks to ask Haibara to bring back something sweet to share with Gojo. Attentive to a fault and crazy how Gojo still manages to occupy his thoughts in that way, even then.
Every tantrum Gojo threw for Geto. Gojo was literally stabbed and didn't break character. Gutted and killed but showed nothing until he comes back an overconfident mess. But just hearing about Geto's crimes, confronting him on the streets of Shinjuku and he's shaking with rage and disbelief. Not so confident then.
Realizing that Gojo saw the day he confronted Geto as a dark and mournful day when, in actuality, it was a perfectly normal, sunshine-y day.
The moment after Geto's dramatic ass is like "I could never smile from the bottom of my heart in this world!" and Gojo says something to immediately recant that by making him smile so genuinely. Just going to do The Worm across a busy highway.
Geto defying all reason to strangle Kenjaku despite hundreds of years without a fight from a host. Just as Gojo never forgot Geto's scent, Geto's body never forgot it's inclination to protect Gojo. Even if only for a moment.
⚠️ Spoiler warning through JJK chapter 236.
Geto's face being the last face Gojo saw before he was sealed and the first face he saw upon being freed. Then agreeing to fight Sukuna on the anniversary of Geto's death because he was sentimental right until the very end.
At the close of Gojo's life, imagining an afterlife where he sees Geto and all of the people he cares about during the point when he was the happiest. After all that time, more than a decade later and he still reflects so happily back on that era despite how grisly part of it was. Not only that but, in a perfect outcome, he imagines full blown cult leader Geto congratulating him because he would take Geto in any form over not having him around at all.

Headcannon alert!
In the night parade of a hundred demons, Gojo was fighting with Miguel, the strongest from his continent:
Tumblr media
Can I also just add that the animation is fiiiiinnneeee 👌🏼 AF - gets my heart going and I knew I recognised the fight scene movements - it was from Ip Man. 💘
Tumblr media
Oh be still my heart.
Anyway, sorry, back on topic!
We know Gojo has done the following:
Tumblr media
(Image unashamedly stole from reddit)
Which leads me to surmise that he probably really really hates the idea of anything messing with his skills/technique, and possibly affecting his impenetrable defences - limitless.
This circles back to isolating himself and how this comes round to backfire on the poor man.
It goes to show how a significant event, like losing to Toji, how it is internalised and processed, greatly affects people, whether they categorise or recognise it as trauma or not. Combined with Geto defecting, it’s understandable how Gojo effectively seals himself in a coffin of sorts. They both dealt with it in differing ways, but end up sacrificing a part of themselves in the process.
Back to Miguel.
Gojo is irritated. He is MAD.
Tumblr media
He just blasts away the giant curse without bothering about anything. He just focuses on Miguel. If I’m not mistaken, we rarely see him like this. Sparring, having a strong opponent has been... fun for him? Either that, or he goes into extreme dominance mode. Engaging with multiple targets.
Tumblr media
There source of his irritation that even ichiji comments something? It goes without saying that the whole issue with Geto sparking war would be getting to him, too. Especially considering the build up and entire situation where forces are all at two locations and Geto is scheming something he had just become aware of.
AND. This is satosugu indulgent: He’s possibly annoyed that Geto had this strong dude by his side all this while, whom he confided in, to provide INTEL AGAINST HIM, no less!
Making light of a really dark situation here, and I’m sorry (not really) but a jealous Gojo tickles me. Did that also make him a bit irritated? That Geto had specifically found someone to target him? Did he feel insulted that he was replaced by someone else - weaker, no less?
Yes, we are now entering pure headcanon indulgence. In my SatoSugu head, Gojo is irritated that Miguel could’ve been sparring with Geto. This man is buff and strong, and has been around Geto for an unknown duration of time. We know Geto likes sparring and he is goooood at it. Did geto change? Can he still trust Geto not to kill any of the young sorcerers? (Yes, Yuta included. Because we can see Geto was battling within himself about following through, and doing so would mean a loss of his humanity in favour of strength - something not really in his nature - he nevertheless tries and we know how it ends when someone in the verse strays from themselves...).
I digress. Gojo probably also wanted to just go see Geto already, but dreading it at the same time. They both were under no illusions about how it was going to end, hence the sombre nature of the anime.
Tumblr media
This scene always hurts when I see it… Side note: I did always feel like Gojo in jjk 0 (manga-only) was a little cold and to aloof compared to when Gege’s well into the series. I wonder what Gege would change if he rewrote/redrew it? Not that he will, ofc.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Whatever it was, I’m just going to allow myself a small pleasure in that maybe the idea of Geto and Miguel in an alliance ruffled his feathers a little. And then Miguel lets slip that “if I die I’ll curse you, Geto” - and I’m left wondering about the significance of that, if anything, whether it provided context to Gojo or the reader.
And in the aftermath of it all, Gojo recognised Miguel’s strength, utilising him for Yuta’s growth (so in a way Geto and Gojo train him?!? [yes I am hopelessly deep in satosugu shipping]) and I guess it was a link to Geto too. Gojo seemed to have no harsh feelings towards Miguel. Entrusting him with Yuta... and maybe also regarded him as someone who was important to his friend (Geto)...
Tumblr media
They became his family, after all.
In light of the most recent leaked chapter - I hope Miguel makes it - and that we also get blessed with some crumbs in the form of flashbacks... it would be nice to see a bit more backstory.

Valentine’s Day Satosugu hcs bc what’s my life anymore
High school edition - I like to think they’ve done something about their crush in their adult days.
Suguru receives more in-person confessions while Satoru gets only love letters (and none of them is in Suguru’s handwriting, which is, uhm, annoying? It’s their third year and Gojo should have a collection of love letters from Getou, but whatever)
Getou does buy Gojo some chocolate but holds it until they’ve finished their club activities. It’s not fancy chocolate or anything valentine themed because that would be too exposing, it’s just a chocolate bar with candies in it which would kill anyone but Satoru (not that Satoru hasn’t spend the day eating chocolate, anyway, but he was so pissed off when he didn’t get any from Suguru in their first year and because of that someone started a dating rumor so he’s not revisiting that failure)
I like to think Gojo would have a school fan club as in all best early 2000s shoujo manga and that they would do something hugely over the top for Valentine’s Day idk maybe they’ll have a special Valentine’s Day photocard of him or have a cardboard Gojo somewhere in their club room. They let other students use it for darts - and teachers, too, especially assistant teacher/trainee Utahime.
Gojo did get a in-person confession by a very brave girl that year (because third year, last chance to confess etc) but Suguru interrupted because, well, it was fun to see Satoru turning pink as he candidly said “I thought you wanted to do something for our anniversary?” letting the poor girl die on the spot and run away. That do fuel the dating rumours
“anniversary of what, pry tell” “of our fake dating rumor” Gojo kicks a peddle so HARD when walking home with Getou that’s, frankly, unfair on the peddle - it was just minding its business on the road and didn’t want to end in someone else’s garden.
Getou takes him to the arcade even if it’s too late to be out (they have homework to do) and pays for his first round of games so that Gojo could stop pouting at him. He tries to ignore how it makes him feel that Gojo was maybe interested in going out with a random (but brave) girl he never spoke with.
They end up at the Karaoke place after that. It’s all v nice and fun except that Shoko is not with them and someone might mistake that for a date if it weren’t that they’re best friends and all. No date, only friends. It does look like a date tho.
They almost accidentally kiss during Karaoke. In a bro way.
Btw I also think that Gojo would be annoying about his love letters and how popular he is and at all the little things and bits of chocolate he’d receive. Not in an asshole way, more in an obvious kind of way. He keeps some of the funny letters too, sometimes reads them out loud to Suguru when they’re alone, saying “damn this girl has fine fine taste, when are you writing a poem about my eyes? Uhm?”
There’s no sedating the dating rumors after this Valentine’s Day so Satoru knits him a scarf for White Day with the help of his fan club because he can get away with saying that it’s a practical joke. Since it’s Gojo, the scarf is perfect despite being the first and last thing Gojo knits. It’s weirdly thoughtful and misplaced in what Gojo is as a person so Getou gets incredibly flustered when he receives it. Gojo laughs at him and takes pictures.
They don’t ever talk about their almost accidental kiss until they actually, properly kiss in a not-bro way some months later. (Gojo says it out loud, not-bro, and Getou laughs on his neck so much he cries.)

This is so stupid but I fucking love the headcanon that no one wants to share their food with Suguru because he would eat the entire thing in just few bites. Like he finished an ice cream cone in 3 bites, or he eats a bowl of noodles in 7-8 bites. Also one time Gojo tried to share his chocolate bar with Geto but Geto ate that whole thing in a bite. After that incident Gojo only shares candies with him.

Satosugu is kinda like twilight new moon...
Like I imagine satoru sending messages to geto's discontinued inbox - like updates on megumi, updates on satoru's life, pics of the food he ate, etc. Like Bella did in new moon to alice

headcanon that like halfway through their first year gojo and geto started sleeping in the same bed almost every night bc gojo would stay in geto’s room rlly late and then just end up falling asleep there so it just became a thing they did, but then post star plasma vessel mission gojo was getting sent on so many solo missions that their bed sharing became less and less frequent until it stopped entirely

part 1
Geto is slowing down. He begins engaging in conversation with Gojo, allowing the sorcerer to get within arms length of him.
Geto works up the nerve to ask, “How do you know where I am all the time?”
Gojo shrugs.  “I can smell you.”
“EH?” Geto raises an arm and smells his armpit. "But I’m a curse. I don’t...produce a scent.”
Gojo shrugs again. “You do to me.”
Geto’s eye twitches.
“Okay, well. I gotta go - nice talking to you BYE!” he says while fleeing once again.
Not even a week later, they meet again during night time, in an open field, where the moon hangs high up in the air.
Geto perches on a tree branch while Gojo sits on the ground, laying against the tree. Strangely enough, Gojo hasn’t struck up another conversation since joining Geto in his peaceful spot to rest.
Geto decides to be social this time around.
“The moon is beautiful tonight,” he quietly comments.
“Oh, is it?”
Geto glares down at Gojo, the sorcerer obviously noticing the heated look from his companion. Sure, Gojo is blindfolded, but he stated that his six eyes are still powerful enough to perceive his surroundings in great detail.
Shouldn’t he be able to see how bright the moon is?
“Yes, it’s a full moon,” Geto says. “I usually don’t slow down enough to appreciate it.”
Gojo hums, as if in agreement. He tilts his chin up to face towards the curse above him.
“I see something else that’s beautiful tonight too, but it’s certainly not the moon,” Gojo murmurs softly.
Geto sighs. “Why are you still following me?” In lieu of an answer, Gojo goes from sitting at the base of the tree to sitting on the branch next to Geto’s in the blink of an eye. Geto gasps, turning his gaze away in fear of unleashing his powers on the sorcerer, even though Gojo still wears his blindfold.
“I follow you because I enjoy your company,” Gojo responds, lacking the usually teasing tone he has when pursuing Geto in their game of tag. “It’s less lonely, isn’t it?”
Somehow, Geto’s cheeks heat up. First, being indirectly complimented for his beauty (whether Gojo could truly see him or not), and second, acknowledging they’ve been sharing a sense of companionship for the past few weeks.
Gojo Satoru is certainly a force to be reckoned with.
Geto just hopes he doesn’t get burned in the process.
***
Gojo finds Geto beyond endearing. The drawings of Geto in history books depict him to be much scarier and violent.
But he was human too. And Gojo feels this every time he manages to cross paths with the tired curse. Frankly, Gojo wouldn’t be surprised if most of the information in history books are mere rumors that conceal the truth.
Making Geto out to be something he really is not.
Well, if he plays his cards right, Gojo will hopefully be able to uncover that truth, and see Geto in the way Gojo himself wishes to be seen.
When Gojo reveals who exactly the strong and resilient partner he’s taken a liking to, Shoko can only sigh while lighting a new cigarette.
Shoko: “I can't say I’m surprised.”
***
The first time they kiss, they’re sitting together on a bench in the quiet section of a park surrounded by flowers in bloom. This is the first touch of affection Geto has ever experienced, always used and abused when he lived as a sorcerer and hated as a curse.
However, Gojo’s hand tenderly cups his jaw, guiding their lips together in languid kisses that part with wet smacking noises-
“Fuck! That hurt!” Gojo yelps while pulling away.
Geto’s snakes, being the biggest haters of their budding relationship, keep biting Gojo’s forehead. Geto scolds his snakes in an angry whisper.
“Stop it! This is a good thing! Don’t ruin this for me,” Geto says. The snakes respond in their own unique ways.
“Sorcerer, show us your eyes - just one peek!”
“KILL HIM.”
“Geto-san, I’m hungry~~”
One lone snake actually takes a liking to Gojo and scents his cheek with a flick of the tongue.
Despite Geto’s occasional embarrassment of his snakes’ behavior, Gojo finds them cute anyway.
***
Gojo and Geto decide on a secluded cottage for Geto to live in. With money and status not being an issue, Gojo took care of furnishing the cottage and land ownership.
Gojo also has barriers in place so no one - non-sorcerers OR sorcerers - will bother Geto. Gojo insists it’s the least Geto deserves considering the circumstances in how they met.
Geto wants to cry because he hasn’t even told Gojo half of the shit he’s been through. Yet, Gojo is offering the peace Geto has so desperately craved all his life, right here on a silver platter.
Better yet, a peace without eternal loneliness.
Geto is still scared of wandering out by himself because of his powers, so Geto keeps himself busy inside the cottage.
Gojo visits when he can, usually every couple of days. Like a cat who’s been waiting for its owner to come home, Geto greets Gojo with a long kiss. Over time, Geto’s snakes have also come to love Gojo, and they too will place kisses all over Gojo’s face when the lovers are close.
Gojo makes sure to bring back dozens of treats for Geto to try. Geto’s tastebuds are nowhere near what they used to be, but he giddily accepts the bland food that’s been provided with love and care.
Geto versus technology is an entertaining phenomenon. He’s a curse from the ancient times, and there hasn’t been an opportunity to learn the new ways of mobile devices or the internet.
Geto picks up texting the quickest, though he uses formal grammar in dense paragraphs and puts a period after each sentence.
Gojo sends Geto lots of funny videos, to which Geto responds with: “Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha.”
Gojo types back :“so harsh, suguru!🥹”
Geto: “I laughed though.”
Gojo: “yes you did, my dear🥰”

Thought oh god :(
So a few people have talked about how Satoru’s eyes are a place of vulnerability for him (the windows to the soul and whatnot), and one of the reasons why his eyes are always covered is so that everyone around him (and us, the audience) can’t see him in a vulnerable state.
Even when Kenjaku had him ensnared in the Prison Realm, there’s a frame where his eyes are strategically blocked. Same thing happened before he killed Suguru. His eyes were just out of frame. He was breaking on the inside and when he’s really vulnerable, the only one to see it is Suguru.
1. He only gets that way when Suguru is involved
2. He only feels comfortable enough to get that way when Suguru (or even just an echo of him, his body) is around
And I just realized rewatching that scene in Okinawa (S2, Ep3, 7:17 timestamp) when Suguru is telling Satoru about how he knows he hasn’t slept or rested his technique, and that it isn’t good for him, Suguru is meeting his eyes from the side. Not through the glasses. Genuinely looking straight into his eyes.
And just, the expression Satoru has on. It’s so vulnerable.
Tumblr media
There’s something so poetic about the fact that the only person he ever lets see him in a vulnerable state is Suguru.
I don’t know how to word it, but I don’t think this is a conscious decision on his part. His walls just come down around Suguru—no, actually, they don’t apply to Suguru at all. He feels no need to defend his weak points against Suguru, because he knows Suguru can see them anyway.
There’s so much love weaved into the very fibers of this dynamic :(

I had this idea last night, I replayed it in my head a few times and then this morning I saw this absolutely beautiful thread which had an uncanny resemblance to what I had thought of.
I contemplated whether I should bother writing what I had down and posting it somewhere. I haven't yet done it for this ship.
But what urged me to go ahead was the fact that this was more like a headcanon rather than an AU, and hence I wouldn't be adding to my very long list of wips.
So here goes-
This is set in the canonverse and both Satoru and Suguru are in Jujutsu High. The timeline is maybe before the star plasma arc or let's say something like that doesn't happen here.
Either way, both of them are sort of in love with the other. They have not outright confessed yet, because that'd be cheesy and Suguru's never gonna be the one who brings it up. But sometimes he feels he wouldn't have to.
Especially at times like these, where they are all alone in Suguru's dorm room, lights out with only the moon's beams to illuminate them and their tangled limbs.
Suguru's clothes are scattered around, some lying on the bed while others have been deposited on the floor. Satoru's haven't even made it to the bed where he is lying over his precious Suguru, just pausing to take in how beautiful he looks.
Long black locks splayed out on the pillow, skin dewy with sweat and a blush slowly spreading across Suguru's lovely cheeks down to his neck.
Satoru looks like a dream as well, if one were to ask Suguru. He loves lying on his back because from his vantage he can take in the ethereal form of his lover. In the dark, his eyes glow effervescent, the blue shining like sapphires. His white hair is tousled and sticking up at odd angles. On his milky skin Suguru can spy the blush sitting high on Satoru's cheeks & he can't help but turn a deeper shade of red when his eyes track down that thick, corded neck to his defined chest and muscled core.
He doesn't need his eyes to deduce how well endowed Satoru is so he brings them back up. His gaze gets locked with that cerulean one and he feels a big calloused hand gently cradling his cheek. Soft caresses are bestowed on his face. The other hand is wrapped around Suguru's cinched waist, holding him delicately, thumb brushing against the hip bone.
A silly thought enters Suguru's head. Before he can articulate it though, Satoru starts introducing a lubed finger and soon Suguru trades moans and whines for coherent speech.
The bed creaks in time with Satoru's thrusts. He doesn't go too fast or slow. It's like this man is taking his time to unravel the beauty writhing under him. Suguru's high pitched moans and breathy whines find a perfect complement in Satoru's guttural groans and huffing.
It's only after Satoru has finished and is now slumped over Suguru, using the soft warm body as a comforting bedding for himself that Suguru's mind brings forth the thought he had a few moments ago.
The smile stretching his lips seems instinctual, so does the way in which his hand finds its way into Satoru's hair and gently starts carding his fingers through the soft white locks, adding a scritch intermittently.
"Satoru...!"
The answering hum resonates within his body given the way Satoru is draped over him.
"I wanted to tell you something, a silly thought I had."
There is a stir and the body lying on top of him moves. Using his elbows to prop himself up Satoru stares into Suguru's violet eyes.
The hand which had been petting Satoru's hair slips down to now hold that handsome face.
It is indeed silly.
The way his heart picks up speed as he gets lost in the depth of those ocean blue eyes.
The way his heart clenches at how Satoru makes love to him, gently and tenderly. Treating each inch of Suguru as something precious and worthy of being cherished. Of being held close to and looked after.
It is indeed silly that Suguru finds the strongest sorcerer, the ruthless man he knows that Satoru is as cute and adorable.
Well right now he does look like a cub with the way he is staring intently at Suguru, expecting some reward or trinket.
"What was it Suguru?"
Snapped out of his trance he decides to not divulge his prior thoughts.
"Nothing really, just ignore I said anything."
Satoru pouts and Suguru just has to look away for his own health because his heart can't take anymore hits today.
"Awwww.. but I wanted to know."
"Stop pouting now, it really wasn't something big. What? You don't believe me?"
There is a certain glint in those blue eyes and Suguru feels just a tad bit nervous.
When Satoru still doesn't elaborate Suguru's unease increases and he tries to fill in the silence.
"Come on Sat-- umph"
Soft pink lips descend on his and they move gently. And Suguru can't help but sigh.
He feels so ....
It's right there, on the tip of his tongue. It's what he feels when Satoru's strong hands wrap around his waist.
It's the emotion bursting within him and making butterflies' wings flutter in his tummy.
As the lips retreat and warm breaths of air fall on his sensitive, tingly lips he hears the low rumble of Satoru's voice.
The words are spoken right against his parted mouth, eyes fixed on his and staring straight into his soul.
"I know. I know Suguru. And it's ok."
The lips move down to his neck where Satoru mumbles against the marked skin.
"You can take your time."
Suguru has to use all of his willpower to not let anymore of his tears fall. He realized a bit too late when one or two stray drops had leaked away and flowed down to his ears.
Satoru can probably sense them but Suguru still wills the tears away.
After Satoru has settled himself once again on top of Suguru, he finds his hands gravitate towards the man lying over him.
His fingers find the tresses while the other draws patterns on that broad back. His head slowly angles itself closer to Satoru's and that's how Suguru falls asleep.
He sleeps peacefully even with Satoru draped over him.
And as for Satoru, the gentle heartbeat of his beloved was the only lullaby he needed to make his eyes heavy.
His heart feels full, knowing that even though the words haven't been uttered what they feel for each other is tangible.
It might take time but they'll eventually get to a stage where verbal confirmation of their mutual feelings will come easy to both.
But for now this is enough.
This is it.
Thank you for reading this word vomit. Honestly this isn't exactly what I had thought of. It was waaaaaaaay better in my head. I wonder why I bother writing 🙃 but here we are.

a lil satosugu drabble
Student Satoru would dance like a drunk white girl listening to “Every Time We Touch.”
He would convince Suguru to dance with him. The only possible way for this to happen is if they drink together. Suguru must be more than tipsy to dance carelessly with Satoru. Environment-wise, the club would be more the loudness of the music, other people dancing, and access to alcohol.
Satoru’s face would be so red for two reasons. One, alcohol makes his face all red because he is sensitive, and two, Suguru dancing with him makes him feel all giddy, especially with lyrics like Bros cheesing so hard.
Can't you feel my heartbeat fast? I want this to last
Need you by my side
Can't you hear my heartbeat so? I can't let you go
Want you in my life
'Cause every time we touch, I get this feeling
And every time we kiss, I swear I could fly
Then, mid-song, Satoru kisses Suguru and indulges in it until Satoru pulls away. The next day, they wake up and see each other, and Suguru is all nervous when he sees Satoru, not knowing if he’ll remember what happened. They exchange good mornings with each other, and Suguru asks him, “How was last night?” to see if he remembered the kiss, just for Satoru to say, “I don’t know. My head hurts. Never drinking again.” And he's relieved but a little sad, cause he's not going to mention the kiss unless Satoru did.
also, the fact that this song was released in August of '05, like omg please
anyways, silly little thought I had, a little ooc for them? not sure. what I thinking in my head did not come out the same way I wanted to when I typed this out lol, there is more i wanted to add on and elaborate but my brain is going to strain itself

And think of each other throughout their short lives they did.
Headcannon, analysis and theorising - more under the cut:
I’ll preface with how I’m aware there is some reaching and rambling, but there are so many interesting parallels and foreshadowing in Gege’s work that I’ll be at risk of writing my own “war and peace” with my theories and headcannon. I might be wrong as always, but I hope it makes for an interesting read even if you don’t agree! Comments and reblogs welcome!
I’ve pondered on this theme of lateness. I have another draft post on this topic, but in this scenario it illustrates the impact of riko’s death and their defeat (eventual victory for Gojo) to Toji.
Tumblr media
One ascended and the other descended. Arguably one saved the other, and equally debatably, they exchanged paths. However else you wish to explain it, Gojo deferred to Geto who was his moral compass, and was guided back to a sensible path. Geto did not wish to be saved by the time Gojo intervened, but ultimately was saved from himself before he could get too twisted.
Or, was it ultimately still a tale where Gojo was indeed too late, and despite everything he had, he could do nothing?
Nevertheless, their first defeat left them both scarred and changed.
Losing each other was something they never got over - Gojo and Geto had wounds shaped like each other.
One went off to find strength to change the world; the other went off to foster students to change the world. They pursued each other’s forte to make up for the sense of loss from their separation - trying to find completion within themselves and their world around them, but falling short of healing their emotions wounds - until they could meet the other once again to resolve their relational rupture.
Look at these two paralleling each other... papa Geto and Gojo sensei.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let me start with Geto:
In this world, Geto admitted before his death that he could never smile from the bottom of his heart.
Tumblr media
No matter how many people loved him, how much they were willing to dedicate to him by following and trusting him, Geto didn’t feel happy. We see, so touchingly, how much he was loved by his family - Mimiko, Nanako, Miguel, Larue.
Tumblr media
Did he ever feel loved? He certainly felt protective over them, but did he feel he mattered, besides being the one who gave them a vision?
Tumblr media
It doesn’t seem so. Geto seemed to think little of himself, for someone prideful and egotistical (by his own definition). He lost a sense of security in himself and value following Gojo’s distancing of himself too. Untethered, he probably felt like he was free falling.
I theorise that his desire for a better world was born out of a desire for redemption, and it was a curse to avenge the loss of his youth as well as those who had died under his care - Riko, “Gojo” (pre-enlightenment), and Haibara. Geto had lost himself within a spiral of depression and self-affirmation following the Toji incident.
I sense that his search for meaning and purpose through the protection of others was always an act of self-sacrifice that was exhausting and defeating for him. Just like the consumption of curses. Like a futile attempt at regaining control when he was slowly losing it even more - getting further and further away from what he really needed - to heal from his emotional wounds.
Tumblr media
What he needed to resolve was learning that he was loved within the world; that he had a place and belonging there. It didn’t have to be about him being a protector or making a difference. When he was feeling balanced from within (secure), existing in harmony could become possible. The rest could then fall into place.
But how could Geto have faith in the universe, after the system fails them all, his best friend now finds meaning in acting alone (being protective in his own way), he learns that riko’s death/sacrifice was inconsequential, and that his fellow peers would just keep dying if he continued powerlessly chugging on. He began to believe he can only rely on himself in a world separate from jujutsu high.
The only time he can remember feeling safe or having equilibrium was in his youth beside his best friend, Gojo. The primary source of his wound was losing Gojo and the disillusionment of their defeat was not repairable.
For Geto, despite chasing his goals to the best of his ability, he could not smile authentically for all these years. The world that was presented to him felt cruel; like a curse stuck on vengeance and justice, he kept burying himself with lies that he used to avoid facing the inevitable truth that this could only end in one way. It began and will end with Gojo.
Tumblr media
He could not replace what Gojo was to him, and the strength he may have envied to fulfil his goal, was a constant reminder of what he had lost - the trust and understanding of someone. His vision of clarity had become costly and darkened as time passed. To gain more power meant he’d become increasingly twisted. Knowing he was on borrowed time, that what he was doing was wrong, that it could only end one way - to Gojo’s hand.
Tumblr media
Did Geto, like Yorozu, need to be seen too? Was this the validation he found / sought - to be witnessed? I honestly don’t know, but whatever Gojo and Geto shared, it was more reciprocal than Sukuna and Yorozu. I do wish Geto was more honest with Gojo, but I think it was enough in itself to yield completely to Gojo and accept his end.
Geto had a Gojo-shaped wound that Gojo mercifully filled upon his last moments - showing him unconditional love and regard despite the changes between them.
We are kept out of the last words Gojo delivered, but we see that: He was recognised by the one who had truly mattered to him the most - the one whom he loved, and thought he had lost. He smiled sincerely at the very end.
Geto was shown to shed not one but two tears in Gojo’s afterlife scene. How moved must he have been to receive the regard and love from his best friend? Despite the lack of honest insight from Geto (Gege, you’re so stingy with inner narratives), it seems rather clear that there is something there that only Gojo can ease for him.
As for Gojo:
In his death dream / afterlife scene, Gojo was shown to express to Geto: If you were there, I probably would’ve been satisfied. It was received as loving, as Geto shed tears to this, and we know Gojo deflects from emotions by abruptly changing topics when he gets a bit heavy.
Tumblr media
Gojo also describes how, no matter how many people adored him, he felt a distance between them; although he didn’t feel lonely, he could not feel understood in all these years as the strongest.
Tumblr media
The line was drawn even more following his enlightenment, and his only memory of connection was with Geto, who had modelled a way for him to connect with those weaker than him and not see them like feeble dirt beneath his feet (as Hajime did) or pursue power like Sukuna did without caring about “worthless” love.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His main reason for being a teacher was also Geto. I headcannon/theorise that it wouldn’t have been the first time Gojo missed him, imagined “what would Geto do?” or saw Geto in his students in those 10+ years. What could he do differently?
Through the impact of Geto’s loss and the power of their love within their friendship, Gojo was compelled to think about others - whether he wished to prevent it from happening again, to reform the jujutsu world, to make room for Geto to potentially return (pre-jjk 0), or to simply understand his students... Gojo stretched himself to carry the emotional and mental load that was almost exclusively Geto’s role in their friendship.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gojo was never the most nurturing type, but he did his very best - to advise, demonstrate, and protect the youth of these students. Giving them their own blue spring was also an ode to what he shared with Geto. Despite healing a lot and making room for others, Gojo had a Geto-shaped would that only Geto could fill.
Tumblr media
What Gojo needed to resolve was to learn to love others - even moreso following his enlightenment in the manner in which he did after Toji - that he did not have to be isolated and alone, that true connection (love) exists and was worthwhile.
Meaning and purpose beyond “just getting kicks” out of being the strongest or wielding his skills beyond self-fulfilment - were all possible - but Gojo only had a limited canvas to work from - it was mostly Geto’s palette that he expanded upon. That he didn’t want to repeat whatever mistakes either of them made if possible.
His main forte was being a skilled sorcerer. This was his primary focus still, because this was just in his nature. Gojo was practically bestowed with the assets for this role. Nobody can blame him for being greedy and coveting more (love/connection he once knew) or attempting more (influencing a new generation). Gojo was meant to be human with all his flaws and thankfully, he kept his humanity.
He ultimately tried to reach and connect to Sukuna - a potential peer whom he could “converse” with, but they were too different. He fulfilled a need to showcase his skill and philosophy to his students - alongside his own personal desire to “go all out” and die gloriously-victorious through giving it his all.
He found the connection he needed right upon his death; meeting Geto and his friends without the need for an encounter at death’s door with Sukuna - unlike Jogo and Hajime who spent their last moments with Sukuna in a dialogue. Gojo didn’t need to talk with Sukuna. They could not understand each other; not when Sukuna did not know real love - even Yorozu did not think so.
To know love is to long for it enough to recognise it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since Gojo could not share with Sukuna what he wanted to teach (about love) he was able to tell and share it with the only person he knew who could understand - Geto. Even if Nanami and Haibara didn’t, Geto did.
Tumblr media
It’s enough for them, isn’t it?
And it’s enough for us to know their legacy continues. It is so heartwarming to see Gojo’s students and members of Geto’s family being there too - all fighting for their own reasons - to defend and / or in honour of their memory.

Satoru and Suguru Headcanons 11➴
Gojo with expensive candy-flavored chapstick because I thought it would be pretty funny/Canon-like !!!
Tumblr media
Satoru ;
Yeah so as I explained before, but didn't actually explain why, I believe Satoru would have Candy-flavored chapstick (that could or may not be expensive I'll leave it up to you.) Because why wouldn't the sweet-tooth boy have something sweet resting upon his lips? Even though I'm sure he'd use like Dior lip gloss or whatever— just maybe when he's being casual he'd wear it.
I'd imagine his favorite flavor is like Fun-dip green apple or Laffy taffy and maybe even Sweettarts because it just seems like a him thing.
I also feel like he'd wear it to troll Suguru whenever they kiss or.. Yeah you get the point.
Suguru ;
I feel like his reaction to the taste from his chapstick (because I don't know about you, but the kind I have has very vivid taste) would be kinda visible but held back. He'd show a bit of confusion the first time, but instantly going back to smootching him with a big ol' smile, maybe more if he likes the flavor.
~ Tiny fanfic time ~
Tumblr media
SATORU and Suguru walked side by side eachother, Both of them holding hands as Satoru caught a glimpse of Suguru staring at something from a store across the street. A grin grew on the infamous Gojo's features as he instantly tugged Suguru along with him to the other side of the road, instantly bolting for that area.
"Satoru— you don't need to buy anything I was just–" He was cut off by Satoru turning and giving him a quick kiss, Making Suguru sigh in defeat as the continued their way.
But, to Suguru's surprise, his lips had a faint taste of candy, although different. Making him tug on Satoru to stop as he had an eyebrow raise.
"Hold on—" He paused, leaning in to place a kiss to Satoru, stealing a quick lick too which made the other male flustered a bit before pulling back, and to his surprise, it did infact have a faint taste of.. Fun Dip? This caused Suguru to chuckle.
"Noticed my new chapstick Suguboo~?" Satoru teased, Suguru nodded in response, placing a hand upon Gojo's cheek. "Quite sweet, not as sweet as you, though." Suguru replied smoothly, causing Gojo to fluster a bit as a chuckle left him.
"Maybe later I'll let you have a better taste, yea?" Satoru teased with a cocky smirk, Suguru only smiled. "I plan on more than that." He teased back, this time leading the flustered Satoru towards the store himself.
END — Hope you enjoyed reading <3
