we're sitting under the stars on my best friend's balcony,
and everyone but us have gone in for the night. I've just told you, hazy and drunk, that my astrology app feeds me bullshit every day, and sometimes I'm weak enough to believe it. But most of the time it's bullshit.
I don't know why I told you - to you, the stars are lifeblood, or at least a personality gauge based on spinning planets and hair size. "Leos are known for their big hair," you'd said, maybe only a few hours prior. I can't remember why I chose that bone to pick - I think I've reached a barrel-scraping desperation where I feel the need to assert, over and over again, that 'I defy you, stars!' even though it would be much easier to say that mercury in retrograde may be causing my acute depression.
You pull up your astrology app. We're friends on there, and I think I remember checking our compatibility and feeling drawn to the sex & love section, but that would be ridiculous. There's something in the bullshit my astrology app fed to me that I read out loud in drunken amusement that resonated with who I am in your eyes, sitting in front of you under the stars. Your app tells you that you might experience a big change when the sun comes up, that you'll have to reach for it with both hands, and I see your eyes flick over to me.
There's a defense mechanism that locks in, underneath my skin, that acts as a human deterrent. I look at my best friend and there is something primal and soft that begs to lean my body against her and touch her with a casual intimate care. But when she laced her fingers with mine, pushing up against my stiff palm like digging through stone, I had to look away. She knelt down by her puppy and took my hand in hers, pressing my knuckles to her forehead to show her puppy that I am safe, that I can be trusted, but the little creature watched me like a sentinel behind my best friend's back, wary and right.
I think I told you it might be bullshit; I can only remember myself contrary in the string lights. You insisted that it could be true. "What if everything changes," you said, "what if it's right and today" - we were far past midnight - "and today the-"
"The world ends?" I finished for you.
I don't think that's what you wanted to hear, the careless laughing way I said it. I stared at the back of my best friend's house today, hours after you left, and I thought about fate. I bent over backwards and stared up at the stars, framed by the staircase up to the porch we sat. The world didn't end, nor did it change substantially, and I'll admit I didn't want either. I want to stay the same forever, but the goddamn stars keep moving.
I've played this game before, and I've been the one to lose every time. I'd like to say I'm a good sport, but there's only so many hits you can take before it starts getting personal, and I'm afraid my jagged edges are sharpening in preparation. I can't let you be another meteorite I strain every muscle to push to the top of the hill only to fall back in the same bloody crater. You have to understand; where you see fate in the stars, glinting just for you, all I can see is apocalypse.

okay fine i’ll bring back the egg. sorry for the pun but i’ve been sitting on this for a while because i can’t decide what to name them
(thinking they/he???)
they love being warm and must be approximately as snug as a bug in a rug at all times <3
didn’t give much context before but we’re going with that the egg was abandoned in winter horns and recovered by a group of waddle explorers
there wasn’t a lot of (known) writing on dedede’s species so figuring out what to do from there was kinda hard and they didn’t really know anything for certain, but between a little research, a gut feeling, and dedede and mk already used to Parenting, they passed the egg onto them to look after and well. yeah
it was definitely a rollercoaster for dedede, to be given hope that there were others like him after all - so it was only natural he’d take it very seriously. he spends a lot of time with them and they’re very clingy because of it. he says they’re like a duckling
being so big also comes with problems because as clingy as they are, they outgrew being able to be held by other people pretty fast lol
“meta pls stop looking like ur gonna punt our kid”
anyway i guess i’ll introduce the other kid next? between the two of them uhh dedede had a very tiring few years. stay at home dad problems i guess. on top of being a king lol
he probably realized how grateful he was that kirby was so independent lol..
the real enemy is everyone (meta especially) having a busy schedule

THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A DOODLE... WHAT HAPPENED.
Anyways, this is a shoutout to the small TK community interested in Ninjago! I'm giving an @luv4lance to you because your headcanons were the final straw for me to sit down and draw some ninjas, I love your writing!
Closeups & dialogue under the cut:
Zane says, "Precious laughter, my friend." In an alternate drawing, I would also incorporate the tease, "I'm certain you sure do love to laugh Jay!"
Kai says, "What's wrong Jay? Does it TICKLE??" He's such an asshole. (/pos /lh) He digs in, he has experience in tickle fights. (Though, it's less of a tickle fight here and more of a slaughter.)
Cole says, "PFFFT! Did I just hear a SNORT?" Asshole Number 2. (/pos /lh) He'll keep Jay from kicking too much, wouldn't want anyone to get hurt. What a nice friend!

Miquella Theory: The Mirage Rise
So I made a post a while ago about Lenne's Rise and I said that the strange Golden Glintstone found there is the only place in the Lands Between where you can find it.
Well I was wrong 😂 My bad guys lol
There are actually three different locations where you can find this Golden Glintsone, but for now I'm going to focus on the Mirage Rise, because aside from the Glintstone there is a whole lot of suspicious things happening at this place.
So upon entering the Mirage Rise you are greeted with this:
A bunch of chunks most likely from the Golden Glintstone, strangely enough they're not whole/giant crystals much like the ones found at Lenne's Rise and the Heretical Rise.
And then going up the ladder and the stairs leads you to the top of the rise where a chest is and deceased noble sits at the desk. The chest holds the Sorceries of Unseen Blade and Unseen Form, both magics of Sellian assassins(where in my Lily Hunt you find several Miquella's Lily's in Sellia implying Miquella spent time there), and the Nobles corpse holds a Slumbering Egg. 🤔
Now going outside to the right of the Rise, on the cliff there is an Owl watching over the Rise(🤔🤔🤔🤔) and if you travel more to the left there is a Miquellas Lily growing, then a little farther down there is a deceased Noble holding a Nascent Butterfly surrounded by several Wormfaces.
Now if you go to the left of the Rise there is a Wormface kneeling by a grave weeping, and placed infront of that grave is a single Miquella's Lily; let me reiterate, it was placed, not growing, placed, most likely intentionally, then right next to the grave are Nascent Butterflies fluttering around.
So, already all of these factors combined are so suspicious, and as I tried to approach this mystery from different angles, I'm inclined to believe one of two potential things happened here:
1. Someone stole Miquella's research from Lennes Rise and hid their Rise behind a Mirage to try and hide from the Demigod, but then karma caught up with them and they were silenced by Miquella for their transgression(the most likely imo)
or
2. Some other faction was looking into the Golden Glintstone and Miquella silenced them as a result
But regardless of what happened here there is a much bigger question hanging in the air here:
What is this strange Golden Glintstone????
There are three locations where you can find it in the Lands Between: first at Lennes Rise, second at the Mirage Rise, and third at the Heretical Rise.
Here at the Mirage Rise the Gold Glintstone is small, nothing more than a pebble.
While at Lennes Rise the Glintstone is massive and shines brightly
Then at the Heretical Rise the Glintstone is dim and dulled (which is potentially due to age as I believe the Gold Glintstone was discovered by the ancient Sorcerers first and then rediscovered by Miquella)
I can't say what exactly the Golden Glintstone is, but it definitely holds some significance, enough for even Miquella to take an interest in it and potentially experiment with. So for now speculation is up in the air and hopefully when the DLC is announced the mystery of the Gold Glintstone will be expanded upon 🤞
