can’t stop thinking abt the only time we see carmy wear a The Beef tshirt is when he cooks dinner for claire. you know, the piece of clothing he refused for all of season 1 (when their restaurant was Actually called that) and asked everyone else to switch OUT of (to white shirts and blue aprons).
something something claire fundamentally does not allow carmy to grow as a person + represents carmy’s backsliding into his past something
imagine being one of harry’s former students. like if you’re a local you probably see him around even after graduation, right? you hear he quit the school and you’re a little sad, the guy was fucking weird but he let you play dodgeball as violently as you wanted and played music all the other teachers hated and you got to call him “coach harry” instead of “mr. du bois” and if he caught you smoking weed under the bleachers he’d just ask for a hit and then look the other way as long as you did your laps.
anyway you run into him a few years later and he’s a cop now. weird career change, but okay. you keep seeing him because you’re a budding adult in jamrock and every time you do he’s drunk off his ass and increasingly miserable and you don’t ask, that’s his business and frankly you’re a little scared of the look in his eyes. he’s a little bit of a subject of gossip among the old students of his that keep in touch and everyone agrees he’s going downhill fast. someone finds out about his breakup and no one shuts up about it for a month. his behavior gets so uncomfortable that you all just sort of drop it until six years later his picture is in the paper and he’s listed as the lead discoverer of a new species of insect. he’s wearing the most deranged outfit you’ve ever seen in your life, he’s bleeding through his pants and also he’s got a mullet now. you don’t know what to think of any of these things individually, much less together, so you just kiss your kid on the head and go to work.
It’s a song about a gay bar like what’s not to like. “tossing him to the bear” objectively a great joke
I know you didn’t ask for propaganda for this one but it’s maybe my favorite song in the series (top five at least)
Single-handedly convinced three people to watch the show
I’m ace and I love it, it’s funny and such a bop and the singing is IMMACULATE
I think it should lose a point or something just because they mention the "queen" in this gay bar and she comes out and it's not a drag queen? massive wasted opportunity.
I guess the filming was a lot of fun because Kylie Minogue (the queen) and Joshua Sasse (Galavant) got engaged

Propaganda:
My favorite is secret mission because so many d&d games end up exactly like that scene
Secret Mission has had a hugely disproportionate effect on my life. I have for a long time left places by saying "off and away?" but ever since I watched this show it is invariably (if reluctantly) followed by "but first another drink" and comically off-tune da da da da da da da das. So yeah, vote secret mission for permanently breaking my brain.
I’m not sure if it’s my ultimate favorite bc I’m mega indecisive but Secret Mission is so iconic. I’ve sent it to everyone I’ve ever played D&D with and they all love it.
Wait, Homestuck updated today? I didn't even know it could still do that.
Could you imagine if I'd clicked on Tumblr's trending page this afternoon? Apparently there are pages from this update which would spoil half the story, canon status nonwithstanding. I won't say I'm not intrigued...
what IS mad cute? eliot and billy's matching plaid, carson football tshirt, blue jeans, and judgmental crossed arm scowls. "like father, like son" for sure
Gotta put a pin in talking about the character in the next episode analysis, but Zazie was such a brilliant change from the character in the manga and older series, where somehow the planet having existing inhabitants before the crash never really seemed to come up much.
Zazie, this time, has much more power and agency by virtue of being positioned as a neutral observer. The Worms take no sides. It's nothing to them that these aliens do battle, only that the battleground is the planet the Worms live on. Since neither seems like they can behave, they need an adjudicator, so the Worms field a kind of... terminal? Representative? Messenger? Agent? Impartial, neither Plant blue or human red. Zazie is effectively unable to truly die, so the stakes for them are low. I think even stuff like a Grand Worm getting bisected is more annoying than anything, because all the Worms are interconnected. They’ll return through the network and become other forms of Worm, so nothing is lost. (And it’s not like they can’t eat humans right back.) They have no understanding of individuality, so the vagaries of human relationship drama are bizarre to them - but amusing to observe and manipulate.
And despite being referred to as "worms", proverbially the lowliest of lifeforms, Zazie isn't wrong to say "The Worms are the planet".
They're visible from space.
In fact, Zazie in general tends not to lie. Even in disguise as a human child, never did Zazie actually claim to be the son of those people in the gas station. You just assume that from appearances (as Zazie gleefully points out). I suspect it's for that reason they were the ones to tell Meryl about Earth. Knives would transparently be biased and manipulative, Vash might explain it too kindly (or not at all, out of a desire to try and leave it in the past). Zazie is invested, knowledgeable, but unconcerned which side comes off better.
In a world steeped in Abrahamic trappings, Zazie is an entirely different kind of god - an embodied natural force, alien and all-encompassing, amoral, indifferent to humankind. Honest, in their own way, but not trustworthy, and loyal only to their own agenda.
Which makes it real neat that teeny tiny self-righteous human Meryl is the one they chose to learn the truth.
sunny is the sun. the warmth in the world, but he's so far away, and his light only reaches from the past. kel is illuminated by the memory of him.
aubrey is a bee, important to the environment, but dangerous to approach. she is shrouded from sunny by basil, who hides her view.
basil is a flower, fragile and needing the sun. he is also all around them, and forgotten.
mari is a cloud attached to a rainbow. each of them are one of its colors, linked to her. she is what gives them color, but kel can't touch her anymore.
hero is home. hero is staying home and he cannot move. hero watches from behind while kel runs out into the world, guided by mari's song.
and hero is also the cloud on the other end of mari's rainbow. half on the ground, half in the sky. floating up to reach her.
Okay, just for funsies and because my pals on the Idling In the Impala Discord couldn't make up their minds either, I want opinions. Can you spare a moment, please? I'll make it worth your while.
The red Carhartt shirt that Demon Dean wears in S10E03, Soul Survivor. What shade would you call it according to the below chart?
If you consider it a shade different to the ones listed here, please just pick whichever in the poll is closest.
Need more visuals to work with? Sure thing.
What's that you say? It's a different shade in every gif? Be that as it may...
thinking about how buck ripped eddie's shirt open in 4x14, and thinking about how functionally (clinically) unnecessary that was because all he needed to do was put pressure on the wound right. that was the main point, he just needed to staunch the bleeding long enough to get eddie to the hospital alive.
but there's something about buck literally tearing the last barrier between him and eddie's bare skin, about him reaching for the proof that eddie's still alive under his hands, and there's something about him purposely staining his hands with eddie's blood to keep him alive, and of him making sure he's the one to do it. and there's something about seeing the raw gunshot wound, and feeling the edges of it under his palm even with gauze between them.
and then there's something about buck's other hand not even being able to touch eddie's face, even though it's completely poised as if he's about to cup the side of eddie's head. a little like feeling he doesn't deserve to touch eddie gently while he's causing him pain by pressing the wound, idk.
now an argument could be made that maybe he was trying to prevent the shirt from getting stuck in the wound, or he was using something sterile to put pressure, but this is tv, and immediately after eddie's taken into surgery, we see someone else that's been shot, putting pressure over her wound by herself, through the shirt.
anyway just thoughts about buck tearing eddie's shirt open, reaching for eddie's vitality and staining himself with it ◡̈
really appreciate how for the 30th anniversary concert they gave meta knight a fake-out saxophone in the promo art only to reveal during the concert that his suite is composed of 99% electric guitar solos
