To be totally honest, I just want ARB writers to be in charge of the new rhyme anima season. I want 23 self-contained episodes that always end with an excuse like “it was all a dream”. I want chaotic situations and absurd characters’ interactions. I’m not ready to see Jyushi’s backstory or B.A.T.’s 2nd drb loss animated so this is the only alternative I can accept.

i think rhyme anima but arb flavoured is a very good vibe to want lol you get great characterisations while still getting the zaniest writing that doesn’t take itself too seriously!!!! which is what i think kr wanted from rhyme anima in the first place lol

backstories are interesting to bring up!!!!! since season one didn’t follow canon at all until the drbs, i honestly expect nagosaka to just be there no explanation lol we have them so cherish them kinda vibe lmao but i could see them alluding to jyushi’s trauma with quick flashback pngs that are kinda obscured, similar to how they depicted the smic fallout. it depends on if they want to be more canon compliant or continue winging it based on whatever crumbs kr fed the team lmao

When did you start playing Choices? What was the first book you played? 

I think it was in 2018, and I first played Bloodbound 1. 

When and why did you join Choices fandom?

It was December 2020. I was really struggling at that point; my whole life had changed, and I still hadn't come to terms with it after a year. It was just an escape. 

How did you pick your blog name? 

It’s just my name and what I do.

It’s just a pfp i did over halloween. It’d me dressed like Sally from Nightmare before Christmas. 

Do you write fanfiction, create fan art, or are you one of those really gifted people who do both? 

I used to want to be a writer. I really love writing stories, I’ve never really written any fanfiction, but technically, I can draw and write. 

How long have you been creating for Choices and for any other fandoms?

It’ll be four years in December since I’ve been creating Choices-related stuff, but ever since I was a little kid, I’d get obsessed with different shows/ characters and write/ draw them. 

What is your favorite Choices book, and what is your favorite Choices book to create for?

My favourite book is definitely Bloodbound. I love drawing BB related stuff because I have a slight obsession with Kamiliah 

Share your first Choices fanfic or fan art that you posted with us. Do you still like it, or would you change it if you were creating it today?

It was a drawing I did for @ao719. I think I would change a lot if I were to draw it now. I don’t really like it anymore, and my style has definitely changed over the years.  I find it really embarrassing looking back at old drawings. 

What is your favorite piece of fiction or art that you created? 

A BB animation (I still haven't finished), but it was really fun writing the story and designing/ drawing everything. 

Do you have a creation that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to do well but found it could use a little more love?

I never expected any animations to do well and was very surprised when they did. I’m really sure that I would like to get more attention. 

If you could only draw one style or type of art for the rest of your life, what would it be and why? 

I don't know. I’m moving into my own flat soon, so I’ve been drawing some scenery pieces I’m going to put up once I’m there. I find them really therapeutic to draw, so maybe that. 

Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs?

Sometimes. 

What element of art do you struggle with most?

Probably finishing the pieces off. By that point I’ve stared at it for so many hours that all I can see are  the problems with it. 

Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?

Absolutely, I’m going through a lot right now so there’s quite a lot of things that i really do want to finish but i just dont have the motivation. 

If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to see your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you show them first? 

Maybe. My big brother taught me how to draw, so occasionally, I’ll let him look at some of my drawings. 

16 - Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing or art? Are there any artists that influence you?

I can’t think of anyone published that I looked up to or have really inspired my artwork. There’s definitely people that i know in my life that have. 

Which one of your creations would you like to see fiction written about? 

I have absolutely no idea lol 

Do you write original fiction or create non-fandom art? 

Yeah, I love creating new characters and really animations doing animations of my original characters.

What other hobbies do you have?

A lot of crafty things. I was taught how to sew, knit, and crochet as a kid, and those are things I still enjoy doing now.

I've actually lost a track of your BB progression, but who you liked first - Bloody Crow or Eileen? And why? And what made you like the second one, whoever it is?

Aahh, the question ever, yes!

My BB progression is a mess because I don’t think I even played it until 2017-2018, as I was too fixated on the Souls series, but it was this shot of Eileen that finally got me to give in:

Not even kidding. This and the main poster of the Hunter got me to finally play Bloodborne because I had never seen such blatant Gothic panache.

When I actually met Eileen in-game, she immediately became my favorite character. So yeah, it was her that snatched me first. She was everything I wanted in a Soulsborne character. A deadly, older lady-warrior with a crow-themed get-up, a cool voice, and a mysterious aura/storyline. I started coming up with my idea for her backstory then and there. <3

Bloody Crow was…a weird one for me. I had fallen so hard for Eileen that I was really upset to see her injured, right? So, I went into the Crow fight royally pissed off and ready to gut whatever was waiting.

Granted, I was also expecting a boss fight and a tough one at that, considering Eileen had dubbed Crow a “thing.” (In English, of course).

But noooo, instead I waltzed into that cathedral in the dim blue-grey light and just watched this beautifully black-clad, crow-caped knight of Cainhurst walk towards me, outlined by the lavender glow of the Dream lamp, like an absolute fucking edgelord bastard. Complete menace.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so enticed by a FromSoftware NPC.

He then kicked my ass for the next several hours, and I think I fell in love lmao. But I was drawn in by the vibe of his fight, and his look mainly. I didn’t consider his character much at that point. I just enjoyed the mystery and my dance with his devilry.

Then I found Kuyuan’s/Endysis’s art of Eileen and little Crow a bit later, decided they were the best characters in Bloodborne, cried over them a lot, and I have never been the same since.

Bloody Crow became more human to me and more than just my favorite, villainous vampire-rival. Eileen only became even more beloved to me.

Now here I am in 2023, mentally unstable, and obsessing over these birds like a crackpot.

and now whenever i'm down I just hop on the game and listen to some music. And thanks to Don't Starve Together in 2018 I got to meet a bunch of friends, so many amazing experiences this game gave me!

Entry No. BRD~ASW: Conflicted Identity

... I’ve wanted to talk about this for a while. I talked about a part of it on Twitter a few months back, but I really need to get it all off my chest here, whatever shit I get be damned. In 2013-2014, my freshman year of highschool, I got introuced to Arc System Works through junior/senior pals introducin’ me to BlazBlue, a franchise that didn’t take long to take root in my heart. I would end up usin’ it as part of my online handle, “BlazRegaliaDream”, and I have stuck with it as the name I use when I sign my art. I’m not the biggest fan, but BlazBlue was a hyperfixation for 4 years since I discovered it. After a serious burnout in 2018, I tried movin’ my sights onto other franchises, but the love held on as a tiny ember that I’d occassionally stoke from just playin’ BBTAG and eventually findin’ a couple of close friends to talk about the franchise and keep tabs on it. Also throughout this time, I also would eye Guilty Gear, seen it around between XX and Xrd, and while it didn’t become a hyperfixation, I thought it was pretty cool. (and I still do lol) Fast forward to 2021. StrIVe has been out, haven’t played it yet. Friends are deep into the JP exclusive mobile BlazBlue Alternative: Dark War, which started at the beginnin’ of the same year. I was eyein’ it, but didn’t wanna sink into another mobile since I already had FEH and FGO (with a few others I fell in and out of). October, I revisit my old BB OC project and then on a whim, I decided to try BBDW. Wouldn’t you know it, I fell in love with BlazBlue all over again and even if I was stuck with a mobile game for new content, I was ready for the future of the franchise post-C-series. And then a month in, BBDW was announced to shutdown in January due to morale issues for the team. “Well shit, I mean, maybe there’s still a shot later, right?” 2022, creator of BlazBlue, Mori, leaves ASW for reasons we may never know. ASW insists that they still want to keep BB alive, but later, an interview reveals they’re supposedly lettin’ GG hog the spotlight because they don’t want the two franchises competin’ Between this and the awful, awful disaster that was Bridget’s return to StrIVe, everythin’ begins lookin’ all too dire... I hate the current state of ArcSystemWorks. I’m so conflicted, so angry with this company, and I just don’t know how to articulate it all so smoothly. My favorite franchise may as well be dead, 6 feet buried, as the creator has left and started his own company and who knows if they’d bother to get him for a new entry, and with the shit surroundin’ StrIVe, I don’t think I can trust this company to revive BlazBlue proper. Is Team Blue even still a thing? It feels like after everythin’, I’ve been gut punched and spitted in the face.

... *sigh* Dammit, there's much I wanted to say, but as I'm typin' this, the words have fled.

I'm just lost. Where do I go from here? The company I once admired just fills me with nothin' but fury, and GG ain't even the first franchise I've seen to pull the shit it has and for what!?

I've thought about rebrandin' before, but I'm too attached to the handle even after everythin', yet still... I just wanted people to see how cool BlazBlue is, and the monkey's paw curled...

(I'll be fine, in case anyone's worried. This shit just sucks too much...)

Since you‘ve been into the fandom space due to hxh and jjk…

Which is very valid btw, sometimes it’s takes a while to jump into a community, especially since fandoms are such a mixed bag.

…Have you made some friends/mutuals that you never expected to be friends/mutuals with?

When I joined the HxH fandom was quite insular. There were some very visible big name fans who just engaged with one another. And when you look at fic recs here for HxH you still get the echos of that. You will see certain names repeated over and over again. Actually having someone rec my fics recently made me cry because if my friend Subdee wasn't on a given day on tumblr often when I posted my writing here no one would even leave like on it. I had mutuals literally scroll past my writing and reblog from me fics or ao3 links authored by the popular HxH and not even leave a courtesy like on my fic that was posted around the same time as the reblog.

And this was the situation several years after I joined. For a long time I felt I won't make any friends in the fandom. I actually made my first friends in the fandom when I participated in 2018 HxH big bang. After that event I befriended some people, and I even became acquaintances with some of the popular HxH blogs, even mutuals with some. So yeah, all the friends I made in the fandom were unexpected.

And honestly the HxH fandom here on tumblr is really cool and that's mostly thanks to @shalnarkonice who's the true hero of the fandom. Shal runs the hxhbbs, reverse bb, several other events and a thriving discord server, we made a zine together as in I pitched the idea to Shal and she just fucking put a team together. I had never expected that I would do a huge year long project with Shal. But generally Shal probably brings at least half the fans here together, facilitates so many friendships. HxH fandom really lucked out that it has Shal.

In the JJK fandom on the other hand I hadn't expected to make any friends because the JJK fandom is a fucking dumpster fire, generally, and here in particular, though from what I've heart twitter is worse. Compared to HxH which is a fandom in hibernation, JJK is alive and vibrant. But unlike the HxH fandom, it's full of people who hate read the manga, people who are in the fandom to shit on it, to post their bad faith takes. Or people who just want to write that they don't understand what's going on, lol. Or sometimes just write takes to prove that they really didn't pay attention to anything in the manga. Or just post thirst, and like.. I like some thirst, like this nice dessert to the fandom experience. In JJK it's the main course and it's just too much for me. And there is some art, but mostly of characters I care little about. And it's completely disorganised, there is not Shal who gives the fandom structure so that you can engage with others at this low emotional stakes level by just doing stuff next to each other in an event and get closer if you notice that you vibe together.

No, you have to do direct engagement and that's scary. But I found amazing people in it too. There's cursedvibes and his meta is so good, actually he's my subdee in the JJK fandom. They are both meta royalty plus they are just super neat to talk to in private about anything and everything. I also befriended the wonderful yuujispinkhair, and this is very much wow.

Hi, I’m a queer fanfic writer who discovered Yuri!!! On Ice about five years after it aired, and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since and ended up writing a series of fanfictions about it that are set pre, during, and post canon.

My series starts with an extended and detailed novelisation called Can You Hear My Heartbeat that includes everything I imagined to happen between the episodes (e.g. the summer of mutual pining) and features Viktor as a POV character in addition to Yuuri. It's cute, funny, steamy, and romantic, but also expands on Yuuri's anxiety and insecurities, and Viktor's mental issues. I've did a hell lot of research to write a canonically accurate story with properly depicted figure skating and Japanse culture.

Works in the making

I'm working on a series of sequels to CYHMH that narrate the story of Yuuri and Viktor beyond the anime, including lots of domestic Viktuuri, mental health issues, the 2018 Olympics, and figure skating drama (there is no figure skating without drama). These works are in different stages of writing/editing and thus not yet ready for posting.

Did My Heart Love ‘Til Now (“season 1.5”): narrates the rest of the figure skating season from Yuri!!! until World Championships and an important event thereafter. The current draft is 330k words long. Rating: mature or higher. Will be posted right after CYHMH. I'm currently looking for beta readers!

In Love and War (“season 2”): is about Yuuri and Viktor turning from husbands to rivals on the ice while training in St. Petersburg. Rating: mature or higher. First draft is at 66%

Tides of War ("season ?"): A short-novel sized fix-it story about the events of the Beijing Olympics and spring 2022 and how the YOI characters deal with them (especially Viktor). This story was my attempt to cope with these events. Unedited draft.

The Sorrows of Young Vitya (working title): Covers Vitya's childhood and adolescence. This story is the result of all the bits of backstory I invented from him while working on the abovementioned works. It's not a substitute for the movie. Draft at 50%.

Some stuff about me

I'm not new to writing and certainly not new to fanfiction, but this is the first time I’m writing for such a huge fandom like Yuri!!!, which is quite overwhelming at times.

My pseud is a combination of a book title of the YA fantasy series The Song of the Lioness by Tamora Pierce, which I adored as a teen, and my love for Japanese culture. I love analysing the things I obsess over, and I do this quite excessively, which currently applies to Yuri!!! and results in the occasional meta-analysis on this blog. The results of my meta posts are included in my works. Besides Yuri!!!, I have a secondary special interest in figure skating, and I do my best to integrate this into my fics accurately and correctly. Because of Yuri!!!, I've started learning Japanese.

On this blog, I post about my works, share the occasional snippet and write meta-posts when I need to get stuff out of my system. I also reblog other meta-posts, translations, fanart, and figure skating content. If this resonates with you, please consider giving me a follow.
