DALLAS WINSTON X READER
It’s eleven o’clock at night as I sit in my room, reading from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet as directed by my English teacher. Even after getting Ponyboy to help me, I still don’t understand the wording or meaning behind the story. Frustrated, I throw the book across the room and it hits my wall with a loud thud.
“What was that?” my mom shouts from downstairs.
“Nothing! I just dropped my book!” I lie before getting up to close my door. As I walk back over to my bed, a tap at my window gets my attention. I look into the darkness outside and see Dallas looking down, lifting my window up. He slides it open before crawling in, careful not to knock over my lamp in the process.
“What the hell are you doing here?” I ask, closing the window behind him before pulling my curtains shut.
“I was bored,” he shrugs, walking across my bedroom.
“So go hang out with the guys. If my folks find you in here I’ll be grounded until I’m married.”
“So that means you’ll be free every night?” he jokes, picking up my notebook and scanning his eyes over the notes I’ve taken.
“Dal, you seriously have to go.” I grab the notebook out of his hands and drop it back onto my bed. His eyes take down my body as a small smirk comes across his lips.
“We’re you planning on me showing up?” he asks.
“Was I planning on you climbing through my window in the middle of the night? No. Why would you think that?” I ask, crossing my arms over my chest.
“Why else would you be wearing these pyjamas?” his finger gently grazes over the long t-shirt I have on which makes me flinch.
“For comfort,” I state, pushing him back lightly. “Besides, we both agreed that was a one time thing. So don’t think just because you broke into my room that I’m just going to-“
“Jesus, Y/N, I was just messing around,” he laughs stepping closer to me again. His voice lowers as he says “Since you brought it up, I’d be willing to make that a two time thing.”
“W-what?” I ask, my voice weak and shaky. I hate that he still has this affect over me after all this time. His dark eyes stare into mine as he brings his hand up to brush my hair out of my face.
“You heard me, Y/N,” he growls, bringing his lips to mine. I let my eyes flutter shut before opening my mouth, allowing his tongue to slide in. When I realize what’s happening, I stop and push him back.
“We need to stop, Dallas.” He grips my wrist tightly and pulls me close to him again.
“No. We don’t,” he whispers before leaning in again. I step to the side and shake my head.
“No. We really do,” I state. “Last time we did this, you just found out that Sylvia was cheating on you.”
“Yeah and I’ve been thinking about you since then,” he says.
“That’s not my point,” I huff. “We’ve been friends since you moved here and I don’t want to end up falling in love with you. I know you won’t feel the same about me.”
“Y/N/N,” he starts, running his hand through his hair. “Why are you being so weird about this?”
“Dal-”
“No, tell me why you won’t even kiss me. Is there some other guy you’ve been seeing?”
“No.”
“Is it the guys?”
“Of course not!”
“Then what the hell is it?” he asks, raising his voice. I cover his mouth and, before I can stop myself, blurt out the reason.
“I have feelings for you!”
“Sorry, what?” he asks, removing my hand. I sigh and shake my head slightly.
“You heard me.” I walk across over and sit on my bed, crossing my legs. Dallas just stares at me and it’s clear he doesn’t know how to react.
“Y/N-” he starts, unsure what to say. He just stares at me for a moment before opening his mouth. “I’m not looking for a girlfriend. And this would just be way too complicated.”
“It’s fine, Dallas,” I say softly, hugging my arms to my chest.
“I was just hoping you’d want to hook up tonight. That’s why I came over.”
“Just get out,” I sigh. When he doesn’t move, I make myself more clear by shouting at him. “Dallas, get out!”
“Whatever, man,” he scoffs, walking over to the window and sliding it up before crawling out. Just before he closes the window behind him he says “see you around, babe.”
“Y/N! Are you alright?” my mom shouts from downstairs. I quickly snap the curtains shut and run over to my door.
“I’m fine mom! I was just listening to the radio!”
“Shut that off and go to bed! It’s far too late to be playing that music!”
“Sorry, goodnight!” I shout. I walk back over to the window and peek through the curtain to see Dallas jumping over the back fence. He turns around and makes eye contact with me, an unreadable expression on his face. Before I let myself run outside after him, I shut the curtains again and turn around, picking Romeo and Juliet up off of the floor.

march 2019 "I grew a flower that can’t be bloomed in a dream that can’t come true"
welcome to my museum opening :)
in 2019 i decided to draw flowers free hand for thef irst time in a very long while and now that i'm thinking about it i'm not sure why. i like to think that it was because i had some sort of confidence in my artist capabilities but i highly doubt that. the truth is, a part of me always thought that i wasn't good enough to do anything artsy or didn't have the skill for it but i still wanted to try it anyways.
looking at it now, march 2019 was a difficult time for me. i was losing my friends and had no idea who i was or what i wanted to do with my life so i guess i just picked up some paper and pencils crayons and went with it. a part of my still has no idea what i'm doing.
hell idk why im choosing to post this now after drawing it so long ago but here i am. trying to get back into creating things that i was once so excited to do before.
i don't expect anyone to see this page or any of my work but i still wanted to put it out there for my sake. so i have a reason to keep living and making.
