i think it's an unpopular opinion because while every so often someone acknowledges their dynamic, it's in a superficial way instead of being their bread and butter they live and die for. i estimate most of the fandom is just them with their respective partners which is fine and all they're allowed to be horny on the internet. it's just not what i specifically want from these fans. personally i don't know enough about their internet culture background to be able to do them justice. but the urge to write them haunts me nevertheless. i hope we can both find something satisfactory someday

oh you're right, plus they generally tend to turn into convenient plot devices for one another in fics that focus on either one or the other too. well i haven't done a real deep dive in svsss AO3 the way I've done for some fandoms (reverse chronological untagged) so maybe if one day I do that I'll find something? I refuse to believe there's no one else jdjsjsjss.

personally I think you should go for it if you wanna write! it's better to have more takes on them in this starving fic economy. you should probably ignore me when I complain about svsss because I can't even read English translations without gritting my teeth which is whyyy I'm not very active in the fandom lol (this is most pronounced in svsss because I primarily enjoyed it for the metatextuality and shen yuan's internet-poisoned narration. not the romance. I do acknowledge it's the hardest of the 3 to adapt for english speaking writers ig)
