🤍Hello friends! 🤍 I read this beauty a couple of days ago and I am so in love with the Brown Sisters! 😍 they are so raw and real! (SPOILERS FROM HERE) In the first book, I really resonated with Eve because of her chronic pain. I also suffer from chronic pain and it actually felt really nice to see that portrayed in a character! In this book, though I felt a stronger connection with Zaf. His struggles with his family's death and trying to respect Dani’s wishes about it not becoming a full-blown relationship! He is such a sweetheart 😍 But this book was so good! I honestly loved it, it had that feeling of frustration like “JUST SAY THAT YOU LOVE EACH OTHER GOD DAMMIT!” 😩 And that epilogue? Aug 6th, 2020 || 📚August reads 👉🏼 Love After Love & Take a Hint, Dani Brown. . 🌸Love After Love by Ingrid Persaud (tw: homophobia, domestic violence and self-harm). This novel is beautifully written and devastatingly tragic, yet hopeful. We follow three characters and all of them got under my skin. They go through so much and it’s nearly impossible not to care for them, even when their actions and decisions frustrated me due to lack of communication. If only they had sat down to talk things through... but alas, that is also life. Love and its multiple representations are done so well. I was an emotional mess by the end and it’s gonna take awhile before I can say goodbye to Betty, Chetan and Solo. . 🌸Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert. I adored this. It had me rolling from page 1 and it’s such an addictive story - it plays with the fake relationship trope which I love - that it was almost impossible for me to put down. Dani and Zafir were absolutely adorable and their banter was *chef’s kiss*. Despite its light tone, Hibbert deals once again with serious issues such as anxiety and emotional abuse. My only problem? I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of a Take a Hint Dani Brown, the companion novel to Get a Life Chloe Brown by @taliahibbert. I really enjoyed Chloe’s book, as someone who lives with chronic pain it was nice to see it represented on the page in such a strong, determined MC. Take a Hint, Dani Brown is a perfect mixture of humor and heat. The verbal sparring between Dani and Zaf made me chuckle so much, and the sex was great, as I've come to expect from this series. I also really enjoyed the fact that the hero is a "manly" man who isn't afraid to express his feelings, and is very much in touch with them. It's refreshing to read. I enjoyed the first book on Chloe Brown, Danika Brown doesn’t disappoint either. 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨 ~ This plot revolves around Danika Brown and Zafir Ansari. Danika is an over ambitious, workaholic, hard-working, determined PhD student who doesn’t believe in real relationships but rather In “No Strings Attached” kinda relationships. Zafir is a humble, sweet, sensitive, emotional, romantic novel reading Rugby player turned security guard. After a video of theirs goes viral, and they take advantage of the publicity for Zaf’s start up charity by fake dating each other. There is a lot of chemistry between the two and they decide to move the “No Strings Attached” kinda relationship. What happens next is straight out of a movie. ✨ ~ One thing I love about Talia Hibbert’s writing is that it’s raw. The language used is simple and relatable. Her writing connects to readers. There is a lot of sex in her books which develops a bond amongst the characters and readers. Although I enjoyed reading this book, the plot was predictable, which got me bored towards the end. Yep, The Brown Sisters 💕 I adore Talia Hibbert’s The Brown Sisters. Both Chloe and Dani’s romantic endeavours are a joy to read and oh-so-steamy. But they’re way more than just chick lit romance. Get A Life Chloe Brown is one of my favourite book’s ever, if not *thee* favourite. Never has a book touched my heart and made me feel so understood and accepted like it. It’s an excellent and moving portrayal of what living with chronic pain can be like, in amongst hilarity and fluffiness. All of the sister’s stories made me smile, warmed my heart and left their mark to make it one of my favourite series 💗 I was extremely fortunate and beyond grateful to read an e-ARC of the final Brown Sister’s book, Act Your Age Eve Brown, at the end of 2020. #BookReview This book is pure joy. Mix Danika, a workaholic commitment-phobe academic, with Zafir, a former pro-rugby player current non-profit founder who suffers from anxiety. Dani is DTF and doesn't want emotional entanglement. Zaf reads romance novels and wants his own happily ever after. I loved that it was an interracial relationship between a Black woman and a Pakistani man. I loved the side characters. I loved that we got to see peeks of Chloe and Red from book 1. Not to mention this book has some serious table-breaking-banging steam. Honestly I could wax poetic about this book for a good long while. 👍Take a Hint, Dani Brown👍 . Ever since I read Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert earlier this year, I’ve wanted to pick up the sequel. Plus, I’ve been listening to a ton of Arctic Monkeys and have been in the mood for a romance. Thankfully, Take a Hint, Dani Brown came through from the library and I was able to read it before the mood for a romance passed. As much as I loved Chloe’s story, I think I loved Dani’s even more. Dani teaches college English (relatable) and has sworn off romance after some bad experiences but when a video of her being carried out of a building by a gruff security guard goes viral, they decide to fake a relationship and reap the benefits. The banter and pining were so fantastic in this story and I also appreciated the discussions surrounding grief and anxiety. It isn’t just a romance; Hibbert tackles some more serious topics and that’s what keeps me coming back to her romances. I’ll definitely be checking out Eve Brown’s story when it comes out.
