Do you think that a lot of the bad moments that people salt Marinette for are more due the "Marinette must commit a mistake and learn a lesson" Episode Writing Rule than things that she would actually do?
Partly. To be fair, part of it does seem to be based around the cringe moments that the writers threw in because they thought that somehow a teenage girl being embarrassed is what amounts to "humor". These humiliating moments that nobody BUT Marinette seems to experience and have played for laughs. Certainly not to the extent she does.
Not helped is that not only does no one else have to suffer such moments, but when others actively inflict this embarrassment onto her, they're never called out or really even acknowledged for their part. And when any of them experience similar treatment, it's narratively portrayed as sad and something to sympathize with them for.
Chloe pulled a lot of horrible stunts, and the fact that she's not even given so much as a slap on the wrist only further pushes this horrible narrative that it's supposed to funny and no big deal when Chloe does bad things and when Marinette suffers. And especially when Adrien or really anyone else does just as bad if not worse only to have any lesson be actively avoided.
So I think a major aspect of the salt towards Marinette is the narrative around her and how her suffering is portrayed as a joke and as if it's somehow deserved or warranted.
The very first episode had it end on a humor note of her losing out on a modeling chance with Adrien and the ending acting like she deserved it somehow. Let's bear in mind it was Alya pushing her to join and Marinette herself hadn't done anything to really deserve losing out the way the episode did compared with if she'd been actively ignoring Manon or acting like a jerk. As a result, I don't know what the lesson was supposed to be there other than that Marinette can't have nice things.
Reflektdoll was a major episode that showed this issue. ALYA was the one who pushed Juleka out to force Adrien and Marinette together. Even though Marinette told her she didn't want Adrien there in the first place. And yet even though ALYA was the one who caused the situation and MARINETTE was the one who at least TRIED to help Juleka and hear her out, Marinette ended up the one getting the full blame for Juleka being upset and the ONLY ONE who apologized by the end for apparently not doing enough to help Juleka despite her actively having attempted to and being cut off by Alya each time. She also ended up the ONLY ONE who WASN'T in the picture with Adrien. ALYA was in the picture, despite being the one directly responsible and the one who wanted Adrien and Marinette to have pictures taken of them together. All of this together gives the impression the narrative is punishing Marinette and that Marinette is somehow supposed to be the one in the wrong in the situation. Meanwhile, Alya and her actions and her part in the whole mess are simply forgotten.
There are at least four separate instances I can think of off the top of my head of Adrien throwing tantrums in the middle of akuma fights and even going so far as threatening to quit, refusing to work with Ladybug to stop the akuma, and even actually quitting. And each time, either HE was portrayed as the wholly innocent party and/or SHE was portrayed as being in the wrong and needing to apologize to him for...(checks notes) not giving him what he wants: whether that be a date, her identity, Fu's secrets, or not being dependent on him.
Then there's Chloe and Lila. Do I really need to get into them at this point?
And remember the comic and how Marinette ended up naked in New York thanks to a stunt Chloe pulled and instead of ANY punishment for Chloe for theft and leaving Marinette without any clothes, it's used to teach Marinette a lesson about racism? No, I will NOT let that go. Even if they did an "official New York episode" to try and replace it, it showed the depths that the writers would put Marinette through and how they would go out of their way to make it be more of a point to make HER wrong somehow even if they had to make it up and disregard the implications and the person responsible.
It all comes down to this common tendency Miraculous has to make light of the things Marinette goes through and having the treatment of her be their go-to joke.

Maybe I'm missing something, but your pretenstion review you mentioned Ladybug de-evilizing amoks and it made me think, why does ladybug have to de-evilize the amoks anyway? All the sentis ladybug hasn't de-evilized didn't cause any problems later on unlike the akuma from origins who the multiplied and all that. If Ladybug hadn't de-evilized, let's say reflekdoll, what if the amok weren't de-evilized? would she have spawned again like stoneheart? Then why didn't other non-de-evilized sentis like Ladybug or red moon spawn again?
The obvious answer would be inconsistency and illogical lore , I just think it's so funny how the show tries to made a point that sentis deserve rights and all that, but the de-evilizing thing also sort of implies that senti beings are "evil". And even if one argues that the ones from Monarch are evil and those from argos aren't, there is no real difference bewteen them other than who created them. They're still unanatonomous beings controlled by an object. Besides, I think the ladybug one from mayura wasn't de-evilized and that didn't cause problems.
... Idk I'm probably thinking too much about it or miss something obvious, I just wanted to share my thoughts.
The thing is that, even though the show tries to about how Sentimonsters are just as alive as human beings, it tends to ignore why people are so opposed to Sentimonsters in the first place.
For two seasons, both Nathalie and Gabriel used the Peacock Miraculous to create Sentimonsters who were specifically designed to cause as much damage as possible (Heroes' Day, Reflekdoll, Miraculer, Ladybug, Miracle Queen, Truth, Queen Banana, Mega Leech, Guiltrip, Kuro Neko, Strikeback), and none of those incidents are ever mentioned. Even in "Emotion", the episode meant to make us sympathize with Felix, it only gave us more reasons to fear Sentimonsters because a single one created by a pissed off teenager nearly exterminated the human race. Clearly, this is the best person to teach us that Sentimonsters aren't all evil.
Other than Adrien, Felix, and Kagami, we never really see any instances of humans and Sentimonsters coexisting because, like you said, during Seasons 3 and 4, Ladybug de-evilized their Amoks and treated them as disposable minions for Mayura and Shadowmoth, and the two instances where it could have happened, they were instantly snapped away and nobody really seemed to care (Ladybug, Sentibubbler).
Intentional or not, the show presents us with an interesting moral dilemma it refuses to take advantage of: Should the heroes allow Felix to use the Peacock Miraculous to create more Sentimonsters that could possibly endanger innocent lives, or take away the Peacock while ignoring the potential the Sentimonsters have to help us by working together with humanity?

Sudden thought I had:
Phantom, after everything he did for Amity, now being an adult (I'm putting at 27 here) with the necessary emotional maturity to recognize that he doesn't owe them anything, seals the portal, places the entire frame in his lair for safekeeping, along with all the blueprints his parents had, and leaves to go explore the world, like his little girl likes to do so much (I'm a sucker for Danny adopting Ellie, and being very supportive of her while also being always ready to be summoned next to her and crack some skulls if needed).
While going through Paris, and finding a pair of teenage heroes, like he and Valerie had once been, Danny decided he can take a break from his travelling to helpd these baby heroes and give them the training and support they need.
They get along better than anyone expected. Danny is Life and Death, Balance personified. Who else would be better to teach the hosts of Creation and Destruction than the one who embodies both in perfect balance?
I'm envisioning Danny sits down to have a nice chat with the Guardian about getting the kids proper training, and he's not going anywhere. The kwami in the box swarm him because he feels like a spirit of incredible power, and really, what else would happen except Danny finding himself taking spiritual custody over two teenage heroes who are clearly way over their heads fighting literal adults.
Step number one: get legal custody of Adrien Agreste and get his father charged to the fullest extent of the law for being so negligent to his own son.
I'm seeing this going 2 ways:
Danny gets custody over Adrien, moves into an apartment next to the Dupain-Cheng bakery, and their place becomes Vigilante Central, with Phantom often watching over the kids as they go out at night, typically going invisible to not give away his presence.
Hawkmoth tries one last desperate move to get the Miraculous before the police come for him. He takes to the field...and is subsequently trounced by Phantom, who beats him into the ground for picking on a bunch of children instead of getting therapy.
Plucking the Miraculous and setting the kwami within free from the old man's control, certainly expedited the process of acquiring custody over Adrien, but it also sent the poor boy spiraling for a while.
Or 2:
Their entire issues are solved by Gabriel being unable to use his Miraculius, because prison doesn't really...allow...jewellery. Which means Hawkmoth no longer shows up. Until Natalie, ever loyal to her boss, picks up the Moth Miraculous and tries to make his dreams come true. Except Phanton is...a little more ready to throw hands, and by the gods she's going to catch them whether she wants to or not.
By the end of it, Danny just doesn't really go anywhere else. Just stays in France full-time to help raise these two reckless kids. And sure, Marinette has her own wonderful parents. Doesn't mean Adopted Cousin Fenton won't spoil her rotten and enable all her chaotic gremlin tendencies while also keeping her safe. Add Ellie into the mix, and Paris has never been more happy and yet annoyed by all these gremlin heroes running around, cracking the most awful jokes and keeping the city safe.
Tumblr media
I actually really like the idea of option 2, not gonna lie. I like the slow, dawning realization some people might have, Adrien specifically, as they realize the possible reason for Hawkmoth's sudden disappearance. While I usually like public reveals for Danny, for Hawkmoth I actually prefer more low-key ones because I know people would probably blame or question Adrien for not knowing sooner. (Because let's face it, this is the same world that lets kids like Chloé get away with all sorts of stuff.) So I think if I ever wrote a fic following along with this kind of idea, I would actually go the route of #2.
You're giving me such brain worms, don't do this to me! One of these days I may actually have to commit to a crossover between these two specifically, and I already have so much to write TAT

Season 5 really killed my love for love square, especially with the way the choose Adrien, a kid with massive trauma and depression, as a therapist for his girlfriend. The whole "I want to be everything Marinette want" is bad for Adrien even more so because he doesn't get the same effort from Marinette.
The whole Adrienette is one sided and it remind me of a girl in one yt clip where she basically said she want a man who do everything she want while the man should already be grateful to be chosen as her boyfriend, which means she will do the bare minimum if nothing at all in that relationship.
Marinette isn't that kind of girl but the way the story goes it sure seems like that because Adrien doesn't allowed to bother her, he just continue to serve whatever she needs without her needing to do the same.
People saying that they'll break up and I agree, but also it will take a whole lot of character development for Adrien, something that the writers seems to hate it seems. Even if they argue or have a break up, I doubt it will be last for an episode before Adrien goes back to Marinette and say sorry. That's how Ladynoir conflict solved Kuro Neko after all, with Cat Noir be a bigger person while Ladybug do nothing at all.
Girl power is supposed to be a slogan to empower girls and Marinette supposed to be a role model for the young audience but at this point I don't even want my nieces and nephew to watch this show if what they teach them is that boy should do whatever the girls said and never bother with their girls with their feelings because man should "suck it up" while the girls can do whatever without minding about their man need.
I would actually be surprised if they broke up. Not because it's unearned, they arguably should breakup or at least get some sort of therapy, I just don't think that the writers have the guts to do that.
As you said, a breakup would only work if it led into character growth and they're allergic to doing that in this show in part because of the mandate that every episode must stand alone. That's a fine rule in a monster of the week show where all the drama is sitcom stuff that can be easily solved in 20 minutes, but a terrible rule in a show that's diving into the levels of complexity that Miraculous is trying to pull off. The show's current format is the worst of both worlds: complex plots that lack the complexity to really work and monster-of-the-week battles that feel rushed because they're being squeezed down to make room for the more complex stuff.
Prior to season four, my opinion of Miraculous was that it was a decent show for its indented audience, but there were a few plot points that required serious discussion to explain why they were wrong (for example: the "don't confront liars unless you're doing it for ideologically pure reasons" lesson from Lila's intro). As the show currently stands? I would not willingly introduce it to a young kid for a myriad of reasons. One of those reasons is the fact that the relationship drama we're currently dealing with is suited to a show for teenagers while still having the writing of a show for young children, leading the drama to feel weird and toothless. Yet another worst of both worlds.
All of this is quite sad because Miraculous has such a fantastic setup for being a cute, fun, healthy romance for all ages! It's why I started watching it and the choices made by the people running the show are truly baffling.
They picked a setup that allowed for all of the tension of a love triangle with none of the awkward fallout and then.... decided to introduce two love triangles.
They went with a duo setup to allow the male romantic lead to be mostly comic relief without feeling superfluous and then.... decided to introduce a larger team without establishing anything to make him feel like more than the comic relief.
They picked a setup that allowed for balanced support needs and then.... never let Adrien get any support.
That last one is the thing that really upsets me. When it comes to magical girl shows and their male-focused equivalents, it's somewhat standard for the main character (or main characters) to get all the struggles while the love interest (or love interests) are just there to give comfort and support, leading the love interest to have minimal character development. (Ex: Sailor Moon, Winx club, almost every shonen show ever made, the list goes on)
This isn't necessarily a flaw. You don't want to bloat a story with pointless side conflicts and you can still write a good romance under these conditions. After all, in real life, it's perfectly normal for relationships to go through phases where one person needs more support than the other. As long as it's implied that the love interest has more going on than just being a love interest, you're okay. Not amazing, but okay.
To put it in more concrete terms, if the Prince Dreamy Eyes is ruling the kingdom with his best friends at his side while Princess Sparkle Tutu is stopping the monsters, but the show mostly focuses on the prince supporting the princess and the princess fighting to save the day, that works. The prince is clearly not just arm candy. And maybe the viewers would really like a few one-off episodes about what Dream Eyes does while the Sparkle Tutu isn't around, but this IS a magical girl show so it makes sense that all the "filler" episodes go to the Sparkle Knights and not the Prince and the Dream Team.
This excuse obviously doesn't work for Miraculous because it didn't relegate Adrien to background love interest status. He is a key part of the team, but that's still something you can work around. In team-based shows with a large cast, it's not uncommon for some of the team to just kinda be there to round out the team while one or two main leads get the character growth and personal struggles. This isn't even a flaw as it's arguably better to have more focused drama. If everyone had a sob story, then no one does.
But that excuse doesn't work for Miraculous either because the show is driven by a conflict that's centered around Adrien. A beautifully simple yet powerful conflict that was perfectly tailored for making the relationship between the leads feel balanced.
On the hero side, Ladybug needs all the love and support because everything is riding on her. On the civilian side, Adrien needs all the love and support because he's a sheltered kid whose father is the villain. That allows for a setup where it doesn't feel like either character is nothing more than the love interest. You can make them both complex and flip around the support/supporter roles based on what part of the conflict the story is dealing with in a given moment. It will forever be a tragedy that such a wonderful premise was pulled off this terribly, which is why I say that I'm still a fanon shipper even though canon is dead to me. I love writing and reading takes on this premise that do it right. It's why I got into the fandom in the first place! I'm not really drama to cute romance. I'm drawn to interesting story ideas that feature romance, which is what Miraculous should have been.

Congratulations on finishing Reverser!! Super excited to see Marc’s full header outfit when that episode comes out! Next on the docket is Party Crasher, right? Whenever you have the time after your fresh rewatch of the episode, what are your thoughts and opinions on Wayhem, his akuma, and Party Crasher’s plot?
Ughhh, I watched it once quickly because this was definitely a Temporary Hero episode (I watched all the episodes I knew for sure would have a temp hero in since I needed to figure out what power would be needed) and it was hard to watch. I just kept getting mad with the civilian plot:
Wayhem is...fine? In THIS episode. It's kind of easy to completely separate him from "Gorizilla" so he's fine in this episode alone (I can't personally get over how obsessive he was in "Gorizilla" but at least he apologized for it? I guess?? Well Adrien seems cool with it at least.)
This is one of the only episodes where the "misunderstanding" that creates the akuma actually feels like a genuine misunderstanding and miscommunication rather than one person jumping to crazy conclusions and then getting mad when they're incorrect (*cough* "Lady Wifi" *cough* "Reverser" *cough*)
His akuma design is fun and camp so I actually like it, but I'm very confused by his powers since he seems to have...many? Like, okay, he can "predict" his opponents movements and envisions it like a dance floor... AND he absorbs people and things into his disco hands by touching them... buuut he can ALSO zap you from a distance... but then he ALSO makes a helicopter?? Also he can apparently heal himself after King Monkey busts everyone out of his disco prison...
I was with you for those first three things but you lost me at HELICOPTER.
And then there's...the plot.
I had to watch this episode in halves because I was getting to mad. At Nino. It's just so weird that this show had one of it's main characters make a universally disliked decision: Breaking a Promise. Isn't that, like, Kid's Show 101, to teach you that you're supposed to keep your word? So why'd they make Nino not only go back on his promise to help Mylene and the girls, but rope other people into it too?? And then for Tikki to be shocked and horrified that Marinette lied and frame that as being wrong when Nino and the boys did the exact same thing! So it's only a big deal when Marinette does it, got it. And I HATE that the conclusion was "well it could've gone smoother but iT wAs fOr AdRiEn sO iT'S cOoL!"
Neither of you, none of you, should've broken your promise. THAT should've been the conclusion. All of them should've spent the end of the episode apologizing to the tree planting group and getting to work.
It's just a weird episode for so many reasons. For one, the girls either somehow didn't catch on to the obvious that aLL the boys were playing hooky on them or they just didn't care, except for Marinette. So even though we're supposed to think it's wrong of Marinette to dip out to prove the boys are lying, it doesn't seem to matter cuz clearly the girls aren't bothered! Breaking promises? Going back on your word? Leaving your friends hanging? Apparently it's not THAT big a deal, so who CARES if the boys or Marinette flake on purpose?
For another thing, I get that we have a limit on teenage boy models to fill this house party with, but I don't think the solution was EVERY GROWN ADULT MAN IN PARIS to crash a MIDDLE SCHOOLER'S HOUSE PARTY!
Roger comes for a "noise complaint" and stays for the foosball?
Astruc and Vincent/Guiseppe/Photographer dude come for a casting call for Adrien at his house? (Look, if the director and his casting photographer are coming to your house, skip the formalities, you already have the gig, let's be real, and also they came over when Adrien's guardians are out of the house, that's creepy).
And then Jagged Stone jumps through his window from his helicopter because he heard the music they were using???
None of these don't feel weird and kinda creepy, like you WEREN'T INVITED, say your piece and GET OUT! Or better yet DON'T COME! No, Nino, stop thinking this is cool, this is FREAKING WEIRD, stop teaching Adrien weird shit!
Put that into perspective for sec: Nino thinks Adrien would have a better time at a Dude's Only House Party (boring) with Randos then just letting his Girl Friends join them.
If they wanted this Boys vs Girls thing, they should've gone full in. Have the girls see through the excuses and let them be pissed. Let them want to confront the boys, but oh? Nino told the Bodyguard to specifically not let them in? What's that, music? Are they...they're having a PARTY?! They're having a PARTY instead of helping them PLANT TREES like they PROMISED AND they're DELIBERATELY EXCLUDING THE GIRLS FROM SAID PARTY?!
Oh this means War.
So make the shenangians about the girls trying and failing (or succeeding?) into getting into the party in increasingly ridiculous ways or something. Like, oh, THEY could call the police on the noise complaint and then get dumbstruck when Roger joins the party. Or have them notice that Adrien's fencing instructor and the Director are getting in so they think the party will be stopped by Adren's obligations and then getting ticked when that doesn't slow them down.
Dress up as Pizza Guys, Delivery Men, Classmates, ANYTHING to get in! Have them notice Wayhem and try to drag him in but because they've tried so many times THAT'S why the bodyguard doesn't let him in - because he's with the girls.
Just... you wanted this dumb Boys Club vs Girls thing, so commit you cowards, give me a WAR! I don't care for those kinds of dumb gender war episodes but at least don't half ass it if you're gonna do it!
As for the Boy Heroes Team thing, it feels wrong to give them a hero episode of their own when THEY are the bad guys in the Civilian Plot and to not have an equivalent Girl Heroes Team episode (instead they get a Girl AKUMAS episode, twice!). The idea is cool and I would've liked to see more squad episodes that weren't framed as "I-need-five-heroes-to-do-what-just-Chat-Noir-can-do" and were actually about teamwork, but our options are the Heroes Day Season 2 finale where they fell apart, or "Party Crasher".
Sigh.
At the end of day, the boys just look like jerks for ditching the girls, but the girls don't even care, so there's not even enough drive for Marinette to involve herself, and then the Marinette Sneaking In shenanigans aren't even fun, the randos showing up aren't fun (except Mr. Banana, he can stay), I guess Marinette and Nino (and the boys) punishment is cleaning up Adrien's room...? Like, good for Adrien that he doesn't get any backlash from his dad because it'd be wildly unfair for him to be the person who gets punished in this scenario, but nobody learned any lessons. It's just...
What was the point of all this?
At least I didn't have any complaints about Adrien for the most part.

Lila’s Potential
Say what you want about people letting headcanons dictate how people expect the show to turn out, but I wanted Lila to be so much more.
I was expecting a cunning, smart, manipulative person who can weasel her way out of any situation with sickly sweet words, someone who plans out her revenge, someone who gets by on their smarts alone in a universe with superheroes and supervillains. And since this character was, you know, a teenager, I was expecting to have some semblance of sympathy, or at least some sort of backstory to her to explain why she is/thinks the way she is/thinks. Someone whose defeat feels cathartic, but whose comeback feels even better!
But what did I get?
I got a petty high schooler who spreads easily disproven lies to everyone around her, to the aspiring journalist, and everyone takes it at face value, even all the (incompetent) adults around her. Has literal plot armor to make everyone around her dumb as bricks, so much so that when Adrien, who literally works with her, is assumed to be slandering her under his girlfriend’s name when there’s no fucking reason to believe he’d do that. Someone who, for some reason, has 3 different mothers who we’re supposed to believe are all convinced she’s their daughter, and multiple identities for some reason, and came into school in one of her fake identities for some reason. Oh, and that defeat? Well she had another identity to immediately fall back on, so it honestly doesn’t matter. Oh, and her acquiring the butterfly miraculous? She just did, don’t question it. Her way of thinking and why she’s so “smart”? Oh she’s just a psychopath
Just how am I supposed to feel when it’s revealed that Lila has another identity (Cerise) that people in that city know her by? That she’s just wearing a wig? I’m pretty sure all of her caretakers have seen her in this wig, are they convinced that Lila is their daughter or Cerise? How much do they know? Are they 3 separate mothers unaware of each other? Why does she lie to 3 women about this?
I’m sure we might (MIGHT) get some sort of explanation in Season 6, but goddamn, what insanity. My problem isn’t the twist itself (not fully), but rather the fact that it came out of fucking nowhere and we’re just supposed to roll with it
Honestly was hoping we’d at least see some, like, foreshadowing? Like the hacking thing? Let’s just say she’s seen hanging out with Max, or we see a scene of her asking him to teach her something about computers. Max and Markov are literal super geniuses who can hack into the Tsurugi system (she’s a tech mogul so it’s real difficult), it’s reasonable that Lila could’ve asked him to tutor her. The 3 moms thing? If you’re insistent on keeping that, just have her slip up on occasion whenever she’s asked about her family, or say that it’s complicated all sad like (personally I like the latter). The whole multiple identities thing? Have her take acting classes, or constantly volunteering for plays or the occasional movie the class does. Have her suddenly acting really sad or really happy, some type of extreme emotion that confuses her classmates, but she reveals she’s just practicing her acting. This can somewhat be her way of gauging how her classmates react (studying them somewhat) as well as her get out of jail free card if she’s caught lying, just say she’s acting! (Might be flimsy but I kind of like it)
Point is, those are just me throwing ideas at the wall. I’m not asking for exactly what I said, but damn, I was expecting her to be an actual threat, makes me kind of sad

Well, the new ecological miracle episode has just been released, you know what that means~
Today we will be reviewing the shortest miraculous special until now, Miraculous season 5 episode Action.
Let’s see what they did with the episode with the concept of one of the few kwamis I still like.
We start the episode with Marinette and Adrien driving to Luka’s boat house, and we know the episode is good when the animation looks like this
Tumblr media
They didn’t even try.
Nino calls them in because he has some important news which is that people were throwing trash in the sena river and it was going to the ocean.
Nino: if no one handle the plastic problem, who will?
the show spent 1:14 minutes without throwing the lesson in our face, that’s a record!
And really, I really don't like it when people have an eco episode and just have the main characters, I think it's much better to have the main characters help the background characters protest, clean up, plant a fucking tree, or whatever whatever they're doing, it helps the scene feel more organic, when it's just a bunch of teenagers doing something, it looks like the characters are just Mary Sues because, you know how many environmental groups? Very little, so yeah, a bunch of kids would be able to get the whole fucking town to participate.
Well, anyways let's give a look at the group's plan.
WTF-
Tumblr media
THEY CONVERTED THE HOUSE BOAT INTO AN ECOLOGICAL WATER TREATMENT PLAN? HOW? WHERE DID THEY GET THE MONEY TO DO IT? AND WHAT ABOUT THAT THERES PEOPLE LIVING THERE? THOSE THINGS ARE NOISY, HOW IS ANYONE GOING TO SLEEP? AND WHAT IF IT IS TOO HEAVY FOR THE BOAT? IT WILL SINK AND YOUR FRIEND JULEKA WILL BE HOMELESS, actually, DID LUKA’S MOM AGREED WITH IT? IS THIS EVEN LEGAL
AND I’M NOT EVEN GONNA MENSION HOW THE FUCK DID THEY BUILD THIS.
Well, they teach the little kids that plastic doesn’t decompose easily and there I already saw the thing was for little babies that don’t know the basic and I lost all hope this episode would be at least decent.
the boat starts to shake and they go to check what is happening and we find out that a large increase of plastic coming from… fans vending machines….. so, people can cool off…. Ugh, first of all, who buys fans that aren’t for decoration? people to buy AIR CONDITIONERS OR FANS (the not Chinese one) did Astruc ever used a Chinese fan? Those things the more you shake it, the more your arm hurts, second, really? Vending machines? The problem isn’t people putting plastic on everything even if they don’t need to, and after that not discarding it properly, the biggest problem with plastic in the ocean is fans? And third aren’t fans made out of like paper? Or like this super light material? There are some fans made out of plastic but this looks like a paper fan.
How much do you bet they just put that the biggest treat is vending machines so they cannot work at all on how to resolve the conflict and make an ending that doesn’t make sense?
Well because there was too much plastic everyone evacuates and the ship explodes… yes. the ship fucking exploded.
So Juleka IS homeless now, all plastic does to a ship is making it get stuck, and showed to us What overheated was the engine, so what caused the boat to explode and what caused it to clog, SO WHO'S FAULT IS THAT? WHO’S FAULT IS IT THAT JULEKA IS NOW HOMELESS HUH? WHO’S FAULT IS THAT?
Juleka and Anarka just accept they don’t have a home now and Nino tells Adrien to talk tp his dad.
Adrien: you know how my father is, he won’t listen!
Marinette: what if we try to resolve this another way? By going to the root of the problem,
Ok that was kinda creepy, Marinette what are you doing to do? MARINETTE WHAT WILL YOU DO TO THE VENDING MACHINES? MARINETTE NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
All joke’s aside, Marinette asks her dad if she and her friends can pick up the bakery supplements which he says yes so, they rush their way to there.
They get the boxes and Marinette asks if they can see the new character they made for the special only and after that will be forgotten even if he could be important, you know? As always, his name is plastic king but I’ll just call him “the boss”
The guy then shows they were the boss lives and- Marinette is gonna break into his house huh? At this point I’m not even surprised.
Nino makes everyone disguise themselves but they are immediately discovered, but Marinette uses her main protagonist powers and they’re able to pass the staff.
So, they reach the boss
Tumblr media
Bro looks like that one villain from the Gnomeu & Julieta movie
Tumblr media
Well, they make a little presentation about plastic which really, it's short but I really liked it they didn't demonize plastic, but instead said that plastic IS important for our society and that we shouldn't just stop producing it, instead they say that people buy thing and throw them away right after, putting the blame not in the company but in the people, which surprised me, EXPECIALY for a miraculous, I actually think that's the better portrait of taking care of our planet In a kids show I've ever seen.
The boss explains that this of people buying and throwing it away so they can buy more is design like that and nothings gonna change, RIGHT BEFORE SHOWING ALL WE HAVE IS MADE OF PLASTIC DEMONIZING IT AGAIN AND MAKE MY COMPLIMENT USELESS, CONGLATULATIONS SHOW
The group then fuck off out of the guy’s office and Marinette has the idea to go talk to the mayor, how did Marinette without Zoe’s help was able to have a face to face with the mayor I don’t know but oh well.
Andre: But Parisians love the fans my young friend, remove the vending machines installed by the hall across Paris
Marinette: Would make it possible to reduce pollution
Andre: But it would be very damaging to my image
That’s the character that in the end of season 5 we were supposed to be rutting for, and being happy he was able to stay with the nice daughter and his dream job, THIS GUY.
Adrien demonizes plastic to his dad but without success he fucks off.
Marinette then tries to ask Nadja to talk about it in her program but apparently the boss controls the tv channel, and it’s kinda of a bad choice to make a character you’re gonna throw away later such an important person.
We than have a time skip where everyone is now in…. Luka’s boat house….
Tumblr media
For the miraculous theorist, I think we can safely conclude, Anarka is fucking rich.
Anyways the group + the people from the around the world special proceed to help max HACK NADJA TV PROGRAM.
Tumblr media
WTF? WHY? ARE IN THAT “Just Stop Oil” ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVIST GROUP? Is the show really influencing that these crazy people are doing the right thing? THEY HACKED A GOD DAMMIT TV SHOW, JUST MAKE THE CHARACTERS THINK THERE’S NO HOPE LEFT, BUT THEM THEY ENTER IN A NOT CRAZY ACTIVIST GROUP AND THE MESANGE WOULD BE DELIVERDED, DON’T GIVE FUEL TO THESE PEOPLE!
We than have one of the most nonsensical scenes of this show. Don’t believe in me? Let me show you.
Firstly, Nino is pointing a camera at the group which means he is doing a live
Tumblr media
But we have video of the boat they’re in, underwater shot (which is just the most beautiful water I've ever seen) UK (probably) shot. Japan and NY shots.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Throwing away a perfectly good fan that could be reused when the whole special is LITTEREALY ABOUT RECYCLING
Tumblr media
This thing being a worldwide thing but Marinette and Adrien don’t know about them.
The fact that even after being haked the tv show the executives said to Nadja say good things about those idiots.
“nAtUrAlLy I WaS nOt aWaRe oF tHiS, BuT aS sOoN aS i WaS InFoRmEd I hAd EvErY MoRtAl FaN mAcHinE ReMoVeD fRoM PaRiS”
Tumblr media
DO YOU SEE MY POINT?
Anyways we see a scene of the boss screaming to Gabriel on his alliance ring that he lied and that Gabriel knew the fans were polluted, again, Gabriel is a character we were supposed to like in the end of season 5.
Well, the boss gets mad and monarch Akumatizes him into king of plastic.
Tumblr media
First of all, this doesn't look like plastic, it looks like he's made of candy, THOSE THINGS ON HIS SHOULDERS ARE JELLY BEANS AND NO ONE CAN TELL ME OTHERWISE, I can understand why his skin is pink, his logo is basically just pink, but why black? It doesn't feel like plastic either, and what's with his feet? He has these blisters that look like he's having an allergic reaction or something, and why is his weapon a sword? I understood that when Karami and Tomoe's weapons were a sword, they were linked to swordsmanship, but why is his weapon a sword? Let's be real, the producers just gave him a sword to make him look cool, ok for the things I liked, I liked his crown. It's shaped like a king's chess crown, the design is creative and I liked the look of its lower parts like the lower parts of a doll.
Well, I think I will give him A 5.8/10 I don't know if just making him a gigant version of his logo would be better, no I was just kidding- it's just a joke- please don't do that PLEASE NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Monarch gives him the bee powers and KOP (plastic king) rushes to paralyze the mayor and we see what his powers are about, he turns people into plastic, ok that's actually a good power, it kind of reminds me of the villains from season 2, do you remember season two? When was the show good? And did we have character development? I miss that too.
He transforms the police in plastic and decides to go to the Agreste mansion.
Marinette and Adrien while Adrien was teaching Marinette how to say hi in mandarin, like the language her mom is fluent, and that Sabrine would teach her how to say at least a “Hello”? anyways they both see the Akuma so Adrien leaves her house and they both transform.
KOP transforms the gorilla in plastic so the writers can have the heroes know his powers and that he’s dangerous just for the heroes to not care about that and attack him without thinking twice, but relax guys he just throws them, phew for a moment I thought they wouldn’t do it.
He transforms chat’s staff and well-done king. He doesn’t deserve his staff, or his powers, OR HIS STANS, THAT REFERENCE WAS HORRIBLE I SHOULD JUST SHUT UP.
Ladybug: you’re the tycoon who makes all these polluting fans! The king of plastic, aren’t you?
Chat: the king of pollution you mean.
KOP: miss information, plastic is fantastic!
Ladybug: fantastic would be you ending your reign and all the pollution you’re causing!
Ugh, another show to demonize plastic, actually I think I didn’t said what demonizing plastic is, demonize plastic is put all the fault of plastic pollution in the plastic bottle or the company that made it, and say that the companies should be ashamed of that and they should stop producing plastic, first, we NEED plastic, it became an essential part of our lives, the computer the miraculous teem made this episode is made of plastic, the tv the mlb fans watch It is made out of plastic, everyone has multiple things made out of plastic, the problem isn’t making plastic, the problem is and not recycling it, and not re-using it. and is it the company fault? Me and my family used to travel a lot, and every time we got thirsty, we would buy a water bottle just so when runned out, they threw it away and buy another one, and then I ask you, who fault? The companies or my family’s? but shows tend to just throw all the blame at the companies and forget that we are the ones using it once and throwing it away, but really, I knew since the beginning of the episode they would demonize plastic.
Well KOP go to Luka’s boat house to take revenge on the kids, but ladyboob and cat noar show up to stop him, ladybug then activates her lucky charm which is a plastic bag.
They realize that the plastic bag can’t be turned into plastic because it is already made of plastic so ladybug comes up with a plan.
Alya tells the group to turn on the boat plastic collector system, so chat noir cataclysms the engine, which makes the boat explode in trash again, how many times is Juleka gonna get homeless in one episode?
Well, KOP Drowns in the most beautiful trash I've ever seen and that the MLB producers totally didn't just download from the internet.
Tumblr media
Ladybug breaks the sword and purify the Akuma.
The boss: what am I doing here? This is disgusting, aren’t you gonna help me?
Ladybug: this is exactually what millions of sea animals are going through around the world.
Chat noir: and they don’t always have a super hero to offer a helping hand and save them.
The boss: you just covered me in a pile of trash woman, its not my fucking fault people are throwing trash at the sea I just sell plastic, Jesus Christ could you help me I can’t fucking move.
I wish he said it, ok here’s what he actually said.
The boss: ok maybe plastic isn’t always so fantastic.
Aaaaand they rushed the conclusion so that everything would end up in a happy ending, I warned ya.
Ladybug gives him a magical charm so he can remember he got one of the most rushed character developments in history.
We have a scene showing that now everything’s ok, everyone is using the kids’ ideas and tomorrow everyone will forget about recycling and everything will go back to how it was. And that’s where the episode ends.
Ok this episode is not very good.. it’s not the worst thing I’ve ever seen still it isn’t good, there’s a lot of conveniences, the animation is worst than usual, even if I liked the villain, I must say his powers were used billions of times, I liked they give more screen time to the fight though.
The episode was generic and I’m almost sure they made the episode just for 1: people go “oh they are so nice!” so they can cover up the racist (intentional or not) in the show. and 2: for sell merch of Marinette’s water bottle for 65 bucks each.
The message was very over the top, and they didn’t do much to try make something original out of it, they just made a check list with every single trope they use in cartoons ecological episodes and made it, and it looks like they didn’t care to much about logic, that thing in Lukas’s boat house was totally illegal and dangerous, the group just found the boss office because a random dude that worked for him showed them without thinking twice, they can just get into places they shouldn’t be able to and it doesn’t even make sense, they resolve all their problems via hacking a channel network, which doesn’t make sense and even if they were able to do it there are billions of tv ads about recycling and they never get attention, I know it’s a kid show but couldn’t they make the characters say “this fight won’t be easy, but we are gonna fight for a better world, are you with us?” it would be better in my opinion.
The characters literally hacked a network, break into a dude’s office and there’s just no consequences, I know it was for a good cause but still. it looks like the writers knew it was a filler episode and didn’t care about researching any of it, if they did, they would know that MOST BAKERIES USE PAPER BAGS, OR THAT FANS AREN’T MADE OF PLASTIC, OR THAT YOU CAN’T DO A LIVE SHOWING ANOTHER CONTRY IN REAL TIME.
Over all if you enter in this side this episode because a mess, but if you just watch the episode, it isn’t too bad.
And a fun fact this episode was made without Astruc, “but AC, if you think the episode was shitty why does it matter to you?” well my dear summer child, let me tell you, first of, I always thought if the miraculous team could do an episode without Astruc telling them what to do it would be just the best episode of mlb, and after the awakening movie that theory just confirmed itself from me, but no, it wasn’t, not even close.
And because I loved that they didn’t use Chloe in the episode, I bet all my life savings that if Astruc worked on the production Chloe would appear and say something like “ WhO EvEn cArEs AbOuT nAtUrE?” or make Andre seem a nice guy who just wants the best for his city and that totally wasn’t corrupt, so at least that a good thing about this episode.
Anyways I’ll give this episode a 6/10. Thank you for reading until the end, hope I’ll see you in the next post.

Web of Misfortune-- [An Unhinged Miraculous Ladybug Fanfic]
My notes for an unhinged Miraculous Ladybug fanfic that'll probably never be made:
This was a fic that I was going to make, but there was a slight issue with it-- I am very behind the Miraculous episodes. No joke, I have no clue who the current superheroes are (aside from Marinette and Adrien obviously) and all the shit that’s happened in the seasons.
But anyway, if I had watched all of it, then this is probably what I would have created with that knowledge:
(Warning: Contains unhinged and unhealthy themes such as stalking and obsessive behavior. I do NOT condone this behavior whatsoever, please take care of yourself.)
Post Length: 15 pages/7.3k+ words (VERY long post) Do not keep reading if you don't want to scroll through a lot of unhinged writing stuff.

Web of Misfortune
[M!Yandere!Marinette x F!Reader x F!Yandere!Adrien]
Tumblr media
Summary: Upon returning to France, a teenage girl accidentally became a superhero and is now tasked with the immense responsibility of protecting Paris from supervillains. Luckily, there’s two seasoned superheroes to help show her the ropes of the job. However as time passes, she notices that the partners she admires slowly begin to behave strangely towards her-- not to mention the two classmates that seem fixated on her during her civilian life. Amidst the crime-fighting, the stress and anxiety, and growing unease for her partners-- instead of joy and excitement from this miraculous opportunity like it’s all supposed to be, it feels like instead she’s getting tangled up in a big, sticky web of misfortune.
“Won’t you step into my web?”
About the Mc:
A high school student. She used to live in France as a kid, where she was best friends with Adrien and Chloe (I know this sounds a bit cliche just bare with me). At some point, she had to move away to another country as a kid but at the start of the fic, she’s moving back to Paris, France and is enrolling to the school there.
Personality-wise: tries to be kind to others but stress does sometimes get the better of her; book-smart but not very street-smart; warm and friendly when you talk to her but never approaches you on her own, etc. Overall, kind and friendly but also shy and struggles with self-esteem. The biggest obstacle for the Mc is really herself-- her own fears and anxieties. Although she desperately tries not to, and goes through most of the day not dwelling on it, there are certain times during the day where she does reflect on her own self-worth as a person and agonizes over her interactions with people that day. She worries about whether she irritates people, whether they’re secretly annoyed by her shyness and slight social anxiety, how unbefit she is to be a superhero, etc. But when her classmate smiles at her and warmly greets her, she smiles back and for that moment, the fear disappears. It’s a mix of accepting who she is, but also doubting herself.
When the Mc became a superhero, she had a hard time accepting it. The Mc was initially very hesitant when it came to her responsibilities, and didn’t want to fight the villains due to her fear-- cowardice even. I imagined a scene where there’s a supervillain attacking the city and her kwami is encouraging her to fight but the Mc is just hiding away in an alleyway, completely petrified and refusing to move. Until eventually, after enough encouragement from her kwami, the Mc reluctantly tries to fight the supervillain and despite being very clumsy and bad at fighting, those kind superheroes-- a boy in a red suit with black spots(Marion-- M!Marinette), and a girl in a black suit with cat ears(Adrianne-- F!Adrien)-- reassured her and offered to teach her. Throughout the fic, I wanted to make the Mc grow more confident in her abilities and slowly grow from a shy, scared, cowardly person to a brave, courageous superhero who despite still having underlying fear about the whole superhero business, she still steps up to fight and put her life on the line because she realizes that it’s her moral obligation as a superhero to protect the city and its citizens, and she refuses to let her fear and anxiety prevent her from doing the thing that gives her a new-found purpose.
“I… I’m scared. What if I mess up and cause more harm than help? What if I let the city down?…I didn’t ask for any of this. I hate fighting, I hate having people look to me for help, and I hate how I’m forced to do this! But I suppose, those people in danger… they also didn’t ask for any of this too, huh?” -- Mc
In terms of the Mc and love, I think she’d understand the obvious signs due to having watched too many rom-coms but aside from that, she has next to no experience with love. Probably wouldn’t know if someone was flirting with her tbh.
“It would be nice to make some friends. I just hope they won’t get annoyed with me-- no, it’ll be fine, it’ll be fine. Just smile and don’t be weird. There has to be someone in this class who’ll like me, right?” -- Mc
About the Mc-- Superhero:
Holder of a locket necklace that is inhabited by the spider miraculous-- Uttu. In order to activate, the Mc must say “Threads out”; to deactivate is “Threads in”. The Mc turns into a spider-themed superhero called White Spider (or Araignee Blanche?), who has the ability of impersonation. Her superhero weapon was originally going to be a tambourine which would have been absolutely perfect, but then I found out that Rose already had that weapon so instead the Mc uses a hula hoop, which she can use along with spiderwebs to do some real acrobatic stuff (aka spiderman shit).
Just like how Ladybug’s (now “Misterbug”) special ability is Lucky Charm and Chat Noir’s (now “Chat Noire”) is Cataclysm, the Mc’s special ability would be “Tarantella”-- basically the Mc performs the Italian Tarantella dance (which is why I wanted her to have the tambourine weapon because that’s the instrument they use!) in order to wrap a supervillain in webs, allowing her to transform into that villain. From then on, it’s up to the Mc to use the villain’s abilities to her advantage while also having to adjust to the villain’s foreign fighting style. This is not as easy as it sounds, and initially the Mc will struggle a lot with this ability because it does require a certain “fluidity” in order to quickly get accustomed to new abilities, fighting styles, movement, everything. Not just that, but it also requires time for her teammates to get accustomed to her ability as well because after all, it would be very confusing fighting a villain when your teammate also appears like a carbon-copy of that villain-- save for the locket necklace aka the Mc’s miraculous. To summarize, the Mc’s special ability allows her to impersonate anybody-- typically used for supervillain fights-- which includes their weapon, abilities, voice and appearance, etc.
“Okay, how do I use this parasol-- wait Chat Noire it’s me! It’s White Spi--!” -- Mc
I thought about whether to give the Mc a de-evilizing ability like Marinette (Marion) does and I think I will-- just hear me out. Spiderwebs are associated with dreamcatchers due to the whole “weaving” element and the purpose of a dreamcatcher is to “capture the bad dreams” while allowing the good dreams to pass on. Naturally, I thought about the Mc using her web spinning abilities to create a makeshift dreamcatcher out of her hula hoop to capture the akumas. However, I do think that the most the Mc would be able to do is just that-- capture the akumas, not actually purify like Marion because that’s not what dreamcatchers do! I actually imagined this scene in the fic where the Mc would continue to capture the akumas because Marion would be skipping superhero work for some reason(!) or whatever, and at some point, her web would be so full of captured akumas just wrapped up in the spiderweb, barely twitching, until she tries to capture a fourth or fifth akuma and the web just snaps and all the akumas fly free from the web. Imagine that, having a bunch of akumas flying around for Hawk Moth to use. Imagine the pure chaos that would create for the heroes lmao.
The Mc’s main color was going to be white-- like her superhero costume was going to be white with black spiderwebs-- because it was a color that hadn’t really been claimed by the other characters to my knowledge, and I thought it would fit in perfectly with Misterbug’s red and Chat Noire’s black colors.
“Alright, you can do this. Just believe in yourself and don’t freak out-- ack! Oh god, why me? Okay, okay, it’s just one villain. Here we go-- nope, nope, nope!” -- Mc
About the Spider Miraculous:
A fan-made miraculous I created just for this fic. I legit spent a solid night looking up all current miraculous so that I knew which animals were taken, and then come up with an original one.
The spider miraculous Kwami is named Uttu-- inspired by the Sumerian goddess with the same name-- and she resides in the locket necklace. Personality-wise, Uttu was going to be more of a motherly figure to the Mc, very patient and wise. When the Mc’s anxiety takes over, and she becomes too petrified to fight the supervillains (when she was still new to the whole thing), Uttu was going to be the one to calm her down, reassure her, and encourage her. She would also try her best to look after the Mc, since she’s the only spider miraculous holder that doesn’t abuse her powers for evil/petty reasons. Uttu does secretly contain a mischievous, and malicious side to her but it only comes out occasionally-- a few moments of good-hearted mischief with the Mc, and a few moments where she secretly harbors malice for her past, irresponsible holders. Part of me thinks that Uttu lowkey resents Master Fu for handing her miraculous out willy-nilly without any consideration for her. Likewise, overtime Uttu would grow to despise Marion and Tikki once she notices the toxic and unhealthy behavior(!) Marion exhibits around her holder, Mc.
“I remember my past holders, and how irresponsible, petty, and selfish they were. I trusted Fu, I really did. But to put me in the hands of people like them… but you’re different. You fear my miraculous, yes that is true. However the reason that you are afraid, is because you understand the weight of the responsibility you hold. My power is not some plaything, and protecting this city is not some mere game-- you understand that. You are worthy, and for as long as you are my holder, I will always lend you my power, and protect you.” -- Uttu
About the Genderbend Aspects:
When I was initially brainstorming this fic, I knew right away that I wanted a female interest along with the male interest. What can I say, it’s more fun that way lmao. However this raises the question-- if I wanted a male and female interest then why genderbend the characters in the first place? Here’s why:
Even though I’m not caught up at all, I have seen a few analytical videos about Miraculous and something that caught my eye was Marinette. Or rather, the way that the show writes off Marinette’s creepy, borderline stalker behavior as “cute” and “funny”. Now take this all of this with a grain of salt. After reading a bit more about Marinette and watching the clips that showed her problematic behavior I was like “okay yeah I see what they mean”, but it also gave me writing inspiration. I immediately thought about Marinette as an unhinged yandere, just going all-in on her obsessive and stalker tendencies. But then I thought, “hmm, what if the reason some people don’t see her behavior as that bad is because she’s a girl?” Which gave me the idea: what if Marinette was genderbent? It’s like that one thing-- if you swap the genders of people and the behavior/action seems bad, then it is bad regardless of gender (ex. when a woman ab*ses a man vs when a man ab*ses a woman). Once you swap Marinette’s gender, the “cutesy” problematic behavior that the show brushes off suddenly seems really bad, and genuinely creepy and unhinged. So naturally, I preferred this Marinette (Marion) for entertainment purposes, and I really wanted to highlight these toxic and unhealthy traits. (I don’t condone this behavior whatsoever, I just think it makes some really good reading material) And since Marinette was going to be genderbent, I thought it would be fun to genderbend Adrien as well, to have that female interest to satisfy the gay in me. After all, with all of my works, I write for myself so I don’t really give a shit if others don’t like it.
It’s more fun that way.
Because I wanted to lmfao.
About Marinette:
Instead of Marinette, this genderbent version of herself was going to be called “Marion”. Likewise, I don’t know for sure what his superhero name would be. Instead of Ladybug, it would probably be “Misterbug” or something even though that was Adrien’s superhero name that one time he used the ladybug miraculous lmao.
According to my notes, I had two options lined up for Marion’s character:
Marion will be in “love” with Adrianne for the first part of the fic. He’ll act the way Marinette does in the show-- creepy but innocent-looking. Eventually, the Mc will do nice stuff that makes Marion obsess over her instead and craziness ensues.
OR
Marion is in love with Mc from the beginning of the fic, due to Mc being the one to do the umbrella scene instead of Adrianne. So right from the get-go, Marion does creepy actions but looks so innocent while doing so (and it’s very subtle) that nobody bats an eye, even the Mc. Craziness still ensues.
Marion doesn’t exactly “love”, but rather he obsesses just like Marinette from the show. He becomes obsessed with the idea of something, and he idealizes it to the point where it is severely disjointed from reality. And the real kicker is that he believes that this behavior is normal-- whether it is due to genuine naivety or him subconsciously trying to justify his actions.
“What? I’m not stalking her-- I know the schedules of all my friends so it’s fine! …Why are you looking at me like that?” -- Marion
Unhealthy behavior aside, Marion is insecure deep down, and before “falling in love” he should first learn to love himself. Not just that, but Marion does feel immense pressure and stress under the weight of being the guardian of the miraculous. So when you add Mc to the equation-- someone kind who tries to help Marion love himself and share the burden of guardianship with him…!
“You really mean that? You’ll always be there for me? That makes me so happy… I hope you’ll always be my partner. Even if Chat Noire leaves us, even if we’re against the entire world-- as long as you’re here with me, I’ll fight anything. You’re the only one I need, and I hope that someday… I’ll be the only one you need too.” -- Misterbug
Back to Marion’s unhealthy behavior, he would obsess over the Mc. Stalking her, getting jealous, keeping track of her personal plans, would probably break into her home and abuse his powers when it comes to her. But he would try to keep these actions as subtle as possible, as to not arouse suspicion. Would probably even occasionally abandon superhero work just to check up on Mc and panic when he can’t find her. In short, Marion in love with Mc would just be an unhinged yandere who’s main traits are his obsessive, stalking, deceiving, controlling, and jealous behavior, and his love is smothering-- almost suffocating-- for the Mc. When he notices Adrianne starting to act more protective of the Mc-- around him of all people as though he’s the threat-- that irritates Marion. When Marion realizes that the love Adrianne holds for Mc goes beyond platonic and enters romantic (wouldn’t think that Adrianne would be bi/gay for Mc), that’s when all hell breaks loose. From then on, just constant attempts to sabotage Adrianne and keep Mc to himself. Ladybug boy be wack.
“I noticed you’re spending a lot more time with Adrianne lately. You know, she probably just feels bad for you. What, you didn’t notice? That’s okay, you’ll always have me. I do really like you, you know. And seeing you with Adrianne, it makes me feel so… ah, don’t worry about it! You have nothing to worry about.” -- Marion
About Adrien:
Instead of Adrien, this genderbent version of himself was going to be called “Adrianne”. Instead of Chat Noir for her superhero name, it would probably be “Chat Noire”, that’s literally it lmfao.
In this fic, Adrianne was childhood friends with Mc and Chloe. They met as little kids, with Mc being middle-class compared to the two. In fact, she met them by complete accident. But they all bonded and became friends. After Mc moves away, this causes Adrianne to become saddened by her departure while Chloe angrily dismisses her, while being hurt deep inside-- abandonment issues for both of them? By this point, Adrianne’s only friend before starting high school is Chloe. Adrianne knows that Chloe isn’t perfect, but she’s oblivious to the extent of her cruelty. Despite being friends with her since childhood, Adrianne isn’t very interested in Chloe’s affection. She’s one of the very few people who is on friendly terms with Chloe despite her spoiled attitude, even in front of others because of something I wanted to expand upon in this fic-- their parental issues.
Adrianne’s daddy issues and Chloe’s mommy issues. Both of them are neglected by their respective parent, trying to do what they can to make them proud. But they never receive that approval/attention and it hurts them deeply. Adrianne and Chloe can bond over this. They have and will continue to do so.
“Father doesn’t like me spending a lot time with other people, he says they’re a bad influence on me… but that’s not true! You, Nina, and Chloe, you all care about me, and help me! I wouldn’t want to lose you guys ever!” -- Adrianne
Adrianne has a desire to be loved, which makes her vulnerable. Of course this could stem back to Gabriel not really showing any love, her dislike of being alone, on top of her not being able to make contact with a lot of people, so she would try to seek out love like with Misterbug. To reference Cyrus the Great’s video, the reason why Adrien (or Adrianne here) is in love with Ladybug (Misterbug) is because Misterbug’s the only true friend she has, Adrianne finally has a healthy relationship. And yet time after time, Misterbug rejects her and although she tries to hide it, it does slowly chip away at her. I think Adrianne has to put on this facade that she’s happy and fine with how things are when in reality, she just wants to be free-- to have the freedom to make her own decisions. But most importantly, she wants to connect with other people. To be with the people she wants to be-- with her friends-- and to experience a reciprocated love.
So when the Mc tries to interact with her, and rebuild their friendship from when they were children, it would definitely mean something. Yes, Adrianne is still upset and hurt from when Mc abandoned(!) her as kids but as time goes on, it starts to matter less and less. If the Mc supports Adrianne and becomes someone who she can let down her “perfect” facade and allow herself to be vulnerable with, then that would mean so much to Adrianne. Most people view her as someone perfect-- they idealize her while ignoring her flaws. But the Mc sees through that and is accepting of everything that Adrianne is. Adrianne struggles, she struggles with connecting to Gabriel for example, and she struggles with dealing with her emotions due to being emotionally abused. But Mc is someone who she can be free with, and soon enough bits of Chat Noire, who’s basically just a suppressed version of Adrianne, starts to leak through.
“How did you know that I wasn’t happy? Guess I’m that obvious to you, huh? It’s just that-- everybody always thinks that I’m this perfect girl but I’m not. And for some reason, whenever I do struggle with something, it’s like I’m disappointing them. Like it’s my fault that I’m not good enough. Huh? What do you mean it’s not my fault? You really mean that? Wow… Finally, after all these years, I don’t have to worry anymore. Thank you.” -- Adrianne
At some point, Adrianne will feel something for Mc. It slowly grows from a platonic type of love to a more romantic kind. Even though they’re both girls, it doesn’t matter. It feels right, and that’s what is important. Adrianne is very protective of Mc, especially against a certain ladybug-themed superhero who’s acting more strange towards her. The Mc’s safety and happiness is Adrianne’s highest priority. Even though she has unhealthy ways of dealing with her emotions, especially when it comes to Mc and love, Adrianne is more stable and less unhinged than Marion. Despite this, she’ll still feel jealous when she sees Mc acting too friendly to another person, which makes her feel insecure, and she lowkey dislikes it when White Spider (Mc) rejects her affections. Side note, Adrianne as Chat Noire probably has her own "m'lady" equivalent nickname for White Spider. Maybe "my cherie" or something?? Idk man. In summary, Adrianne’s love for Mc is her being overprotective-- sacrificial even-- over the Mc, being a bit jealous, and when shit hits the fan, she becomes more willing to temporarily put her morals aside to do what is necessary to protect Mc. She’d also crave reciprocated affection and attention from the Mc too (and affirmations that this time, she won't leave her side).
“As long as I can be beside you, and see your smile, then that’s enough for me. You’ve brought me so much light-- you’re the key to my gilded cage and I am eternally grateful to be your friend. I’ll always protect you from all harm, I promise. We’re partners after all! Me and you, the cat and the spider! Maybe one day, we can finally remove our masks and truly be with each other…!” -- Chat Noire
About the Other Characters:
To make things more fun and chaotic for me, I decided to genderbend other characters too. So:
Alya—> Alan
Nino—> Nina
Chloe—> Cole/Clo (??? no idea if she’s going to be genderbent tho, tbd)
Lila—> Lilo (no clue, tbd)
Rose—> Ross
Juleka—> Julien (dang it Juleka why you have a difficult name to bend??)
Luka—> Luka (no clue, tbd)
Kagami—> Kagami (no clue, tbd)
I didn’t decide on anything for Luka or Kagami, since there’s some interesting outcomes that could emerge with either option, and also I’ve literally never seen an episode with them *clown emoji*.
Actually I did watch some clips and analysis summaries about Luka dating Marinette so one idea I had was: what if at some point Mc and Luka begin dating? Like they date, and it’s actually a healthy relationship because the Mc is caring and considerate of him, like she understands the faint abandonment issues Luka has with his dad and she tries to be there for him. Until Marion and Adrianne catch wind of this and something bad(!) happens. Additionally, Luka and Marion could have a history together where they dated, but then it becomes kinda neglectful and full of lies on Marion's part and that’s where the Mc steps up to offer some advice. No idea about what to do with Kagami though. *shrug*
“It’s okay Luka. I’m here for you.” -- Mc
I also don’t know whether to genderbend Chloe or not, or Gabriel too. Probably wouldn’t change much tbh.
“Buzz off! I don’t want to hear it, got that?! We’re not friends anymore! You should have just stayed back home…” -- Chloe
About the Plot:
Alright, here’s what y’all are probably waiting for. This fic was going to be a lot darker than the original show, with psychological and sociological elements that I like to incorporate into my fics, and all characters would be aged up to around 17-18.
The biggest issue I’ve always had with this fic was the plot. Part of the reason has to do with the show itself, how there isn’t really a main plot. Every episode is just a different supervillain and Hawk Moth failing to get the miraculouses and that’s it lmao. So yeah, kinda hard to create an overarching plot for this, at least for me. But still, here’s an attempt:
❅ ❅ ❅
The Mc would return to Paris and get adjusted to life and school there. Shortly after, she receives the Spider miraculous and becomes a (reluctant) superhero. Mc meets Misterbug and Chat Noire, looking up to them as mentor figures. Meanwhile as a student, Mc tries to reconnect with Adrianne and Chloe, partially due to them being childhood friends and the other part being her sensing the sadness in Adrianne.
“Um, hello! You’re Adrianne, right? Do you remember me…?” -- Mc
From then on, it’s quite simple. Mc as a student is just trying to befriend Adrianne and Chloe, Chloe lowkey bullies her because resentment, and Mc gets adjusted to life in France again. Mc as a superhero is trying to get more proficient at fighting supervillains, while her relationship with Misterbug and Chat Noire continues to grow. From Adrianne’s perspective, she feels intrigued by Mc’s attempt to reach out to her, and decides to reciprocate the friendship since she sees no harm in it. From Marion’s perspective, it depends on which option I choose for him. Either he’s obsessed with Adrianne and sees Mc trying to befriend her as an annoyance which may nor may not involve retribution, or he’s already obsessed with Mc and becomes jealous of Adrianne for stealing her attention, and hates Chloe for bullying Mc, which also may or may not involve retribution.
If Marion is obsessed with Adrianne initially: it would be very interesting to see him go against Mc. I can imagine Marion being irritated by Mc suddenly trying to befriend Adrianne, while simultaneously hating Chloe for stealing Adrianne’s attention. When Marion’s obsession goes too far, maybe Mc and Chloe would put their differences aside and work together to help Adrianne. It would be very interesting interactions, especially between Mc and Chloe because Chloe has reasons to treat Mc the way she does-- she views Mc leaving her as a betrayal, an abandonment. Mc could realize that, and apologize for that, since she acknowledges that it was her fault for ignoring how her departure affected her childhood friends.
“I hate you, but I hate Marion more. So I guess I’ll help you deal with Marion-- but I’m only doing this for Adrianne okay? So don’t get the wrong idea! …I just don’t want anything bad to happen to her.” -- Chloe
"Is something wrong? If you two don't have anything to say, then if you'll excuse me, I have somewhere very important to be." -- Marion
Lila would then get introduced to the fic and just reck shit up. If I wanted to give the Mc some convoluted connection to her, I would write that Mc as a kid moved to Italy and met Lila there (and that’s where she lived for most of her life) and idk she did something that made Lila pissed and now Lila wants vengeance or whatever. Either that, or they don’t know each other and being transfer students is the only thing they have in common. But then Mc does something that pisses Lila off (maybe exposing her lies?) and thus she becomes her enemy. Maybe Mc sees Lila lying to Adrianne or something and tells her off which Lila does not appreciate, and seeing Adrianne agree with Mc embarrasses her. Or idk, I don’t remember this Lila shit. It is then that Marion’s unhingedness starts to truly shine through, and Adrianne starts to view Mc as a friend.
After the Lila fiasco, things continue. Mc and Adrianne are now proper friends, Mc and Marion also start to hang out too. Also at some point, Chloe finally comes to terms with her feelings about Mc and finally manages to forgive Mc for leaving her, and apologize for treating her badly. Basically Mc is making friends. Mc, Misterbug, and Chat Noire are also becoming a strong team. Marion/Misterbug becoming more obsessed and unhinged (and jealous of either Adrianne or Mc depending on option), while Adrianne/Chat Noire likes Mc and starts to feel something stronger grow.
“It’s funny Plagg. I really like her, I do! Even though we’re friends, why do I still feel something else for her? It’s like there’s this weird feeling, and I can’t control it… Maybe this pounding in my chest-- could it be happiness?” -- Adrianne
And then Luka and Kagami get introduced. I think it would be really interesting to have that little plotline of Mc and Luka dating, after enough bonding of course. Maybe Marion and Luka dated prior to this (along with Adrianne and Kagami?) as some sort of mind game over the Mc. Anyway, showing a genuinely healthy relationship would really stand out against the unhealthy behavior and unhingedness (of Marion mainly). Personally for me, I like to add some ‘normalcy’ to my fics to contrast against the unhinged elements-- makes the unhealthy parts more powerful imo. But since happy endings don’t exist in my fics (most of them lmao), something bad would happen to Luka. Probably caused by Marion. Although Adrianne probably did something a bit fucked up too-- courtesy of a bit of moral degradation. But anyway yeah it would just create a lot of chaos and if Marion was obsessed with Adrianne initially: this is probably when he would switch obsessions, from Adrianne to Mc. For Adrianne, this is when she would realize that the strange feeling she feels is love, and when she sees the Mc with Luka, it creates a new, ugly feeling within her-- jealousy. Jealousy, which leads to rather unsavory actions. Once Luka is “dealt with” that’s when shit hits the fan.
“H-how could this happen? Luka… W-who would do this to you? I swear, I’ll find out who did this. Someone who would do something this cruel and vile… Luka, tell me, does vengeance count as a heroic action?” -- Mc
A saddened and depressed Mc is not the most stable Mc. She’s always tired, stressed-out, anxious, and snaps at people out of frustration. She tries to apologize for her hurtful actions, but it’s not always accepted and the guilt adds to the weight on her shoulders. But luckily for her, there’s two people to pick up the pieces: Marion and Adrianne. Silently listening to her woes and troubles. At this point, Marion and Adrianne realize the other’s feelings for the Mc. From now on, it’s just a constant fight for her love. Adrianne tries to keep Mc away from Marion, while Marion tries to keep Mc close to him. I don’t know if Misterbug and Chat Noire would know each other’s true identity-- probably? It would definitely spice things up and add to the chaos. But of course, Mc wouldn’t know their true identities. Or maybe eventually she would? *shrug*
“There, there, it’s okay. I got you. Why don’t you tell me what’s on your mind? If there’s anything I can do to help you, anything at all, just tell me and I’ll do it. If it’s revenge that you want, then allow me to dirty my hands for you.” -- Misterbug
“Are you alright? You look like you haven’t slept in days… Why don’t you go take a nap? Don’t worry, I’ll make sure the teacher doesn’t know. Me? Oh I’m fine-- I’m more worried about you! Listen… Maybe you should take tomorrow off. I’m serious, don’t go to school tomorrow.” -- Adrianne
Whilst all of this is happening, Mc is secretly trying to figure out what happened to Luka-- if I chose to go through with his plotline. Uttu is also there, giving advice to the Mc. Uttu senses the corrupt desires of Marion and Adrianne (well more Marion tbh) and voices her worries to Mc who takes them to heart.
“Be wary, be clever, be brave. No matter what, do not let yourself become prey to the demons hiding in daylight. Mind my words, or else they will wrap you up in their web and never let you go.” -- Uttu.
I wonder if at this point, Marion and Adrianne would confess their feelings to really make things chaotic now. Imagine it, Marion, or Misterbug, takes Mc to someplace private. He reveals his true identity-- that he’s Marion-- and confesses his eternal love to her. Mc is just so shocked, while Marion grows ever more desperate for an answer-- for a sign that she reciprocates his feelings-- anything. But when she declines, Marion could swear that he feels his heart break right then and there. He’s so heartbroken that he barely even notices Mc leaving him, a conflicted expression on her face. Tikki asks him what’s wrong. Marion ignores her. His unhealthy, toxic behavior is now blatant, and obvious. Almost as though he wants the Mc to notice him-- notice what she’s done to him…
“I love you. There, I said it! I love you, I really do! I’ve been watching you, and I’ve seen how kind and brave you are-- more than any other person I know. You’ve always been so gentle and caring to me that I don’t want to lose you, ever. I want you by my side, whether we’re fighting bad guys together or we’re studying at school. So? Do you… accept? …Oh. Oh. Did I do something wrong? No, of course not! So why…? Are you really just going to leave me like that? …No, I won't allow it. I will make you mine, one way or another.” -- Marion
I feel like Mc still hasn’t moved on from Luka, and she doesn’t feel that way for Marion anyway due to how Marion treated her in the past and also how suspicious his behavior is around her. Mc runs somewhere, then bumps into Adrianne who comforts her. Mc lets herself be held by Adrianne, relieved that there’s someone she can depend on. Adrianne comforts her, tells her kind, assuring words… which slowly changes into her telling Mc how much she means to her. Mc slowly realizes what’s going on, and is too late to stop it. Adrianne reveals that she’s Chat Noire, and after proving it with such a happy, beautiful smile on her face, Adrianne confesses her romantic love to Mc. Mc, too shocked and overwhelmed, also tearfully refuses and runs away.
“Shh, that’s okay. Just rest, okay? You’ve been through so many things, and you’ve had to endure it all while dealing with us too. It’s okay, you don’t have to take on that burden alone anymore. I got you.  You’re just so strong, and kind, and selfless… it’s some of the many things I like about you. Ever since you’ve entered my life all those years ago, you’ve brought me so much happiness. Even now, after you left me, that feeling hasn’t gone away. Instead, it grew so much that it took me a while to realize what it is now. I guess what I’m trying to say is, I love you.” -- Adrianne
Anyway a bunch of crazy shit happens, Marion acts even more unhinged and creepy as fuck while Adrianne also starts to lose herself. Seeing Mc run away from her kinda resonates with her fear of being alone + abandonment issues so Adrianne does start to get unhinged too. Despite this, she still tries her best to protect Mc first and foremost even though Mc’s kinda on-edge about everything now. Wait I forgot to say what Hawk Moth is doing while all this shit is happening. Probably just doing what he always does, akumatizing people and yada yada. I wonder if the Mc would get akumatized too, I mean she is going through a lot of negative emotions especially after something bad happens to Luka. Also, I wonder if Gabriel would notice the changes in his daughter, like how Adrianne is spending more and more time with Mc. Honestly I don’t know what butterfly man is doing lmao.
The ending of the fic would have at least three endings: an ending with Marion; an ending with Adrianne; and an ending for the Mc. No idea what the big, epic climax would be-- another reason why I couldn’t write this fic-- but it would probably be very dramatic and edgy. Hawk Moth would probably akumatize one of the people in each ending too. One last thing, I think at this point, Mc would try to use her miraculous (with Uttu’s urgent pleas) to impersonate someone else just so she can be safe. But of course, they would figure out that it’s her.
“Run. Run, my dear. Search for a sanctuary where they can’t find you and no matter what, don’t look back. Do you understand? Good, now run!” -- Uttu
Marion’s ending would just literally be him keeping the Mc to himself and just obsess over her and suffocate her with his love while half of Paris is in shambles and Adrianne probably dies or something lmfao. Probably gets to keep his ladybug miraculous too while he takes away the Mc’s spider miraculous, also idk who gets akumatized in this ending.
“Finally, I have you all to myself. No one will ever be able to take you away from me now, no one. I love you so much, now we’ll be together forever. Forever, and ever, and ever, all mine.” -- Marion
Adrianne’s ending is just her dragging Mc with her to get away from an akumatized Marion and then an epic fight happens between her and Marion. Marion probably dies or something idk because I like tragedy (or maybe still alive but arrested? He gets to watch the love of his life pair up with his now arch-nemesis which has gotta sting), but Adrianne is also kinda injured too. Mc is all like omg you risked your life to save me and Adrianne is just happy she’s fine. After all the dramatic stuff and crying, Mc and Adrianne get together, and I hope Adrianne gets help because she’s not good with dealing with her emotions. Maybe Mc will encourage her and support her *shrug*. Master Fu would probably want their miraculouses back, but upon discovering that Marion’s gone and there needs to be the new guardian, they kinda become the new ones or something idk.
“I-I’m so glad… That you’re f-finally safe. Oh, please don’t cry for me. I-I’m okay… I love you. I will always love you, there will never be anyone else that could even come close to you. So please don’t cry for me. I’m happy that at least in this lifetime… I'm not alone anymore.” -- Adrianne
Mc’s ending is her rejecting both Marion and Adrianne (Marion’s too crazy, Adrianne will only get hurt). Some big epic fight probably plays out, a lot of unhinged stuff and dramatic yelling for the Mc maybe. Hawk Moth probably causes more chaos, maybe he akumatizes both Marion and Adrianne who knows? At the end, I don’t really know what would happen to Marion and Adrianne. No matter what happens, Marion and Adrianne lose their miraculous, and idk what else would happen to them. Mc either tries to get therapy from all the shit that’s happened and tries to live a happy life or if Luka is still alive, maybe they get back together???? Idk, you can really tell how much thought I put into these endings lmfao.
“So you were the one who hurt Luka… did you really expect me to forgive you after everything you’ve done? Marion, you need help. A lot of it. And Adrianne… I’m sorry but I also can’t give you what you want. You took part in what happened to Luka and I can’t accept you for that. I still care about you but… I don’t like you in that way. I hope both of you find happiness in your lives, I truly do.  Goodbye, and I’m sorry.” -- Mc
❅ ❅ ❅
I don’t know why, but part of me prefers the “Marion obsessed with Adrianne first” option. Firstly, it would be refreshing to read a fic where Marinette actually initially dislikes the Mc instead of immediately wanting to become her friend (not that it’s bad or anything). Secondly, I think it would be interesting as the reader to see how Marion’s obsession can affect others. Imagine being the enemy of an obsessed yandere. They try to sabotage you, keep you away from the one they love, turn people against you, etc. All the while pretending to be your acquaintance, smiling at you while the thoughts in their mind paints a more sinister picture. Scary, isn’t it? Mc can sense some darkness lurking underneath Marion’s friendly smile, but it’s only when too many awful coincidences match up, and she catches a glance of his darkened gaze that she realizes that it’s all on purpose. He’s trying to take her out. And all just because she’s trying to get close to Adrianne? All the more reason to get closer to her then.
But what happens when Marion’s obsession for Adrianne fades away, and instead shifts itself over to the Mc? I think it would be even more frightening because you the reader knows the things that Marion does for the one he loves. Therefore, you know just how far he’s willing to go. You know the full extent of his obsession and how it puts others in danger. The Mc knows this too, but she doesn’t know that now he’s doing it for her. She just thinks that it’s nice that Marion no longer considers her a threat, that they’re finally becoming friends, nothing more. But Adrianne knows. When she realizes that Marion, who was once obsessed with her, is now focusing his obsession onto the Mc? That scares her. Now she’s the enemy, but more importantly, now she needs to protect the Mc. A Marion who’s obsessed with Mc from the start is cool, but I think this one is more interesting just because it offers a lot more different dynamics especially between Mc and Marion. But that’s just me. *shrug*
Imagine if Marion actually temporarily teamed up with Hawk Moth, with their obsessions for their loved ones being the only thing they have in common. Just an interesting thought.
What if there was another Lila side plot where she figures out that Mc is White Spider (Tarantella is an Italian dance-- Lila is Italian, probably thought it was strange that Mc was able to dance the same dance that a superhero does) and then probably blackmails Mc. Then, when someone close to Mc (Marion/Adrianne/Luka??) tries to confront Lila, Lila tells them the truth about Mc’s identity and they’re like omg I can’t believe it, and now they know the Mc’s secret. Just a thought.
~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~ ~*~
Ta-daaa!!! That’s the end of the notes!! I kinda wish I had the energy to properly write this fic because it would slap so much but: I don’t have the time to get caught up to the show; there’s just too many possibilities and options for this fic that I’m too ‘paralyzed by choice’ to really decide on anything; I heard the fandom’s kinda toxic and I ain’t interested in that shit; this fic would probably be a good 500 pages tbh and that’s too much for me lmfao.
Sorry if this was a bit hard to read/understand, it was kinda hard for me to articulate all this chaos so sorry about that.
So yea, that’s my unhinged Miraculous Ladybug fanfic. If you enjoyed reading this, that makes me happy! Once again, just to reiterate, I write for myself first and foremost, and for the people on the internet second. I just wanted to post this primarily to share my spider miraculous + Mc spider superhero out there, and then I was like ok might as well share the entire fic.
Ok that’s all buh-bye!

Meeting the Team (Team Dad Cinnabar AU)
Inspired by @hailfire17's Cinnabar AU
When the disguised Gabriel Agreste had approached Chloé Bourgeois in the aftermath of her outburst to her mother, he’d been prepared for several responses to his offer. From an outright rejection, to suspicious curiosity, to immediate agreement.
He most definitely had NOT expected her to size him up, nod, and start dragging him along to another room in Le Hotel de Grand Paris.
And he was not at all prepared for when she flung open the door to reveal a collection of half-a-dozen teenagers, and for her to declare to them “Everyone, we have an actual mentor now!”, a statement which drew the room’s full attention.
“…Chloé, what the hell?!” a very familiar redhead in a red-and-black suit exclaimed in disbelief. “Half of us are transformed right now, you can’t just—”
“What do you mean, ‘an actual mentor’?” the even MORE familiar blonde boy beside her interrupted, and Gabriel had to fight to not give himself away and demand to know what on earth his SON was doing in here playing video games with LADY ROSE.
“Everyone, this is—actually I’m not sure what his name is yet, he never mentioned it, but he’s claiming to be a former superhero and was offering to train me. I figured it would be Nice of me to extend the invitation to the whole team.”
Gabriel was absolutely speechless, attempting to process what the Bourgeois girl had just said.
The whole team?
What did she mean, “the whole team”?!
“…Wait, so not just the guardian’s weird ‘doesn’t actually tell us anything’ teaching?” an unfamiliar, short-haired brunette asked, looking interested. “Well, sign me up!”
“I agree with Lyle.” Ryuko, the Dragon of Tokyo, got up from the beanbag where she had been sitting, inspecting the man. “A more active teacher would be beneficial for us all—even with my own prior experience in heroism.”
“Guys, will you keep it down? I’m watching something!” The ginger boy looked up from his computer just long enough to shoot the room a glare, before going right back to what he’d been doing.
“Okay—seriously, Derek, just stop,” Lady Rose grumbled. “None of us care about those stupid Minecraft videos you’re obsessed with! You can watch them when we AREN’T with the team!”
“Lily, shut up! You’re one to talk—”
“Look, the majority of us actually LIKE Vocaloid!”
“Sorry about those two, they’re siblings. They get like this a lot.” Adrien shook his head. “I think becoming heroes made both their self-control worse, but then again, I only met Lily AFTER she’d become the new Ladybug, so who knows.”
“LOOK JUST BECAUSE YOU DON’T LIKE IT DOESN’T MEAN I HAVE TO STOP LISTENING TO IT!”
“Lily! Chill! You too, Derek. We don’t want another LynelMaster.”
“Honestly, though, I’d pay a lot to see Lily commit arson again,” the pink-haired rabbit hero Bunnix admitted from where she was lying on the couch. “I wish one of us had filmed that.”
…Dear goodness, what had he gotten himself into.
Chloé groaned. “Will everyone please pay attention?” she said with a huff, clapping her hands. Turning to the man, she sighed, rolling her eyes. “I only just joined this utterly insane group yesterday, but I’ve already seen enough to know that we desperately need adult supervision.”
Gabriel had barely been there five minutes, and had already come to the same conclusion.
“I can believe that,” he replied, shaking his head. “What I can’t believe is that these are the heroes who have been defending Paris for the past few months…”
“It’s very hard to take in, yes. Honestly, I nearly had an existential crisis yesterday learning that Lady Rose is the same girl who keeps asking me for Vocaloid music recommendations in class. But that’s nothing compared to the one I had after learning Adrien was Chat Noir—”
Chloé kept talking, but Gabriel heard none of it after the absolute bombshell she had just dropped.
Adrien.
His son.
Was CHAT NOIR?!
If the disaster that was Style Queen hadn’t already made him swear off being Hawk Moth anymore, this revelation would have done so in a heartbeat.
He’d been fighting against his own son.
For MONTHS.
…He needed to sit down.
“—thing I will admit is that Lyle coming out suddenly felt a lot less out of nowhere once I learned they were Piccola Volpe—wait, where are you going?”
Gabriel managed to keep his composure as he strode across the room to an empty armchair, before immediately collapsing into it, holding his head in his hands.
“You…you’re all just children,” he finally managed to breathe out. “The heroes of Paris. Are all teenagers. Who in the world ever thought it was okay to give this responsibility to actual CHILDREN?!”
He couldn’t believe it.
All this time, he’d assumed they were in Lycee at the LEAST, and more likely even older than that.
But no.
These were Collège students. 13, maybe 14 at the most. And the boy at the computer looked even YOUNGER, maybe 11 or so.
He had been fighting.
Children.
And one of them was his son.
Forget trying to train a new Hawk Moth to take his place.
These children needed an adult.
And apparently, the burden of being that adult had now unwittingly fallen on him.
Him, the supervillain that had been terrorizing them.
Most likely the least qualified person alive to take care of them.
Gabriel Agreste had most definitely not signed up for this.

I don't know if is because I'm aro but I really will prefer that in the miraculous ladybug show the relationship between Adrien and Marinette were more like friends or family than romantic.
Like the writer kind of fucked up with Adrien character, most of the shady shit he had pulled was glossed over.
Nothing make more happy that reading a fic were this is deal with and they start over with a better founding. For example:
Adrien is a lonely sad boy that is working hard in moving on with his life after his mother death,he is the perfect son to a father that is mourning, his dad don't need to worry about him messing around (maybe if he works hard father will be proud of him, maybe if he hides his "flaws" he will look at him with love again). But staying in the house is hard for him (too much memories) his work as model and the other extracurriculars distract him but he doesn't know how to be "normal" teenager, doesn't know how interact with others outside of professional areas and his only close relationship is Chloe, but going to public school with help him, he will met more people of his age, he just needs to be perfect there too and people will know that he is worthy of it . He is naive and he could come as the classic rich white boy but he is trying. He "falls in love" with ladybug but in reality he just wants someone to see him without the perfect boy glasses and still stay with him.
Chat is the part of Adrien that he hides because is silly, goofy, unperfect (not worth of love) he knows that's a great responsibility but this is freedom too and they need to hide their identities so is good to act the less like perfect boy Adrien. Sometimes goes too far, he forgets that being a hero is serious that people are counting of him to save the day but he has a good heart, he's young he can learn and be better. He jokes to calm himself down and for the fun of it. He knows when to do it and when he needs to be serious.
Plagg is a God, he knows the value of chaos and the need of destruction to create , everything needs a balance. This human boy is young, he is reckless (he don't know what his life is worth anymore), he is naive (he needs guide), he will be a great black cat he just need some work. But the boy not need another "adult" ordering him around he needs to learn how to make decisions for himself, he don't need more strict rules and nagging. Plagg knows how to work with any type of human, he had being doing for centuries, (he started to lost hope in the humanity's), he had worked with cruel humans that try to abuse of his power they regret it in the end he makes sure of it, this boy is just another one that he will have to guide(in the end this boy became one of his best user his memory will be forever part of him, to remind him of hope and change for the better)
Marinette is a hardworking girl, that choose to be kind to put people needs before her(she was conditioned for that be a the teachers that think she should catter to the more privileged). Ladybug is someone that people will look for answer and help she can do it, she will sacrifice her life and dreams for the rest (she had already do it).
Tikki is a goddess, she knows the value of the order and how creation could bring destruction. This young girl will be a great ladybug she already knows of responsibility and sacrifice (that is so sad, to learn that to such young age is a tragedy itself) but she needs to learn to said no, to work in her needs because she keeps going like this she will burn she will not grown. She is chaotic (work fast to not disappoint, who cares what she lost in the way) she is nervous ( she is scared what if she fail? ) she doesn't know what to do with her feelings (they never matter in the first place).
Tikki knows what she needs to do, but this young girl needs someone to teach her the balance of life. She knows that the mission is important that Noroo needs helps but Hawkmoth is dangerous and her user will work until her dead to stop him, but she-is-so-young and Tikki doesn't wants to lose another one (not again, not again please) so she will help the best she can.
So yeah I think that in this point the fans only lives on the head cannons.

This may be an unpopular opinion about Miraculous Ladybug.
I think one of the central themes of Miraculous is emotional intelligence.
Emotional intelligence is the basic understanding of how we view and handle our emotions. Whether they be good or bad, we all have to process how we feel in every moment. Through the acknowledgement of our emotional state, we can better ourselves and mature into a healthier state.
Does this mean that negative emotions are bad? Of course, but we need these emotions in order to learn and develop.
I see the usage of akumazations as a reflection of how people act and function in the real world. When one doesn't allow themselves to feel those negative emotions, they overwhelm them and overtake their reasoning centers. In a way, we become easier to control or become uncontrollable monsters.
Maturity happens when you realize that you have those negative feelings and turn them around for good. Take Kagami for example. When we first meet her, she's stubborn, driven by anger, and determined to win no matter what. As she progressed as a character, that stubborn nature was used more to protect her friends and assert herself. That anger that one akumatized her was now the driving force to save those who too was akumatized. That determination to win was changed into determination to pursue relationships with friends and, to a lesser extent, maintain one with Adrien.
The show is about teenagers, so don't expect them to be mature at this age. The frontal lobe, which dictates logic, reasoning, and emotions, hasn't fully developed yet. Everyone has to understand that Marinette, Adrien, and their peers haven't fully grasped their fluxating emotions yet. They are still learning discernment, how to communicate their feelings, and thinking before they act.
Marinette doesn't learn from her mistakes? That's not true. Marinette does learn from her failures because she's allowed to. Most of her mistakes weren't meant to be bashed, but to teach us how to behave. Sure, we may not have taken a friend's phone or snuck into their house, but some of you did far worst than that at her age. The mercy your parents, peers, or other important figures in your life showed you when you messed up is the same way you should treat her mistakes.
Adrien should be mean to Marinette or shun her? But why? The boy yearns for emotional connections and Marinette is one of the healthier ones in his life outside of Nino. Adrien is learning how to express himself, assert his feelings, and conveying his thoughts far more now than when we first saw him. I think Marinette being a positive influence in his life helped him to mature a bit as well.
Ultimately, no matter how we see it, the real people getting mad at Marinette and Adrien are those whose emotional intelligence aren't the highest. Those who haven't matured past their high school stage in life and trying to justify their reasons for hating a character that is a reflection of their own. Maybe we all need to improve our emotions and learn how to show mercy and forgiveness to those still developing.
After all, we wouldn't want to become slaves to our own emotions.

People said that there's a foreshadow that Nino will be a temporary black cat in s5 but it make me curious about how origin Nino do from being a black cat because pre-carapce Nino seems to be a bit of scaredy cat. 🤔
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m combining these two asks for a more general overview of Nino’s compatibility with the Miraculous.
While Nino becoming the Black Cat ended up debunked before I could reply to this, I do think that Nino with the Black Cat could be interesting. It’s true that Nino isn’t the first one to try to jump an Akuma (that would be Kagami), but is that really fear or approaching a situation carefully? He stood by Alya and faced certain doom in what was basically a Zombie Apocalypse, and he kept fighting against Anansi to buy Ladybug more time even though he knew he was outmatched. Just because Nino doesn't forget that a situation is dangerous doesn’t mean he isn’t brave.
What I do think pre-Carapace Nino lacks is confidence, and it’s something that pops up even after getting a Miraculous. What really gets Nino off his usually unflappable cool is feeling inadequate or powerless. This is why he despises Gabriel so much, Gabriel has made him feel powerless to help Adrien repeatedly. We can also see this in how Nora really gets under his skin about not being strong enough to keep Alya safe. As Nino says, he would do anything for Alya, but can he do everything he wants to? This is where his hesitation when he’s first granted the Miraculous comes from.
Nino is someone I see liking the idea of being a hero. A Miraculous gives you real, tangible power to affect things and change them for the better as well as protect your loved ones. As such, Nino makes for an enthusiastic and determined hero. The one thing I could see as a weakness in any Miraculous combo for him is that he can’t compartmentalize at all. He can’t detach himself in his hero persona, which is why Alya recognized him immediately despite literal magic helping his disguise. But that's merely a complication in him being a hero, not in compatibility with any set Miraculous.
The most interesting thing about the enthusiastic, caring and determined Nino is that he became this way through knowing Adrien. The Nino we get introduced to in ‘Origins’ is apathetic, like he’s given up. This Nino probably had come to terms with his own powerlessness as a mere normal teenager. Then he meets Adrien and that’s no longer enough. Nino starts bucking against the injustice he sees, starts championing for Adrien to have it better.
As such, even if Nino was the one to get the Miraculous originally, before the character development of getting to know Adrien, Nino would be motivated by such a turn of events to be more outwardly against injustice. Add to that how Plagg gets revealed to have been mistreated by authority in the past, and Nino would also bond with his partner as more of that came into the light. Nino would consider the Guardians with even more irreverence than Plagg does or Adrien in canon. All that posturing the Bubbler does about unworthy adults has to come from somewhere, after all. Nino definitely has a bit of anarchism to him in his mistrust of authority.
Looking at Chris also gives us a bit of insight into what Nino is like as a role model. While we can’t attribute everything about Chris to his brother alone, Chris does exhibit a sense of fairness. Despite being really young and therefore prone to outbursts, Chris listens really attentively to all of Marinette’s explanations, and gives them consideration. He’s willing to follow Marinette’s “Christmas Rules”, even as he clearly wants to break them, hence looking for loopholes. Given Nino’s clear care towards his brother, the two do interact a lot so Nino might have been the one to teach his brother about fair play and honesty. At any rate, I don’t see the brothers having completely different views on fairness.
Nino’s big brother chops, in addition to his treatment of Alya and Adrien, also showcase why he could be trusted with the power of Destruction. I’ve repeatedly stated on this blog that Destruction is a power that lives up to its fullest potential as a hero power in the hands of someone who is kind and nurturing. Nino is very unlikely to use the Cataclysm carelessly, but, as I established earlier, he is also willing to take action despite any misgivings when he has the power to do so (and sometimes when he doesn’t). As such, Nino would be careful with the Cataclysm, but would still use it if the need arose.
Now, if Nino were to act as a temporary Cat Noir like Scarabella specifically, I think it would work best if Nino knew Adrien’s identity, or discovered it while being given the job. Because Nino, with his strong ideas about what is fair, would not want to use someone else’s Miraculous unless he was sure the other party was fine with it or there was a very pressing and very immediate catastrophe at hand. So Adrien giving his blessing for Nino to use his Miraculous would be for the best. And it would allow for Nino and Plagg to bond over their Chaotic Adrien morality alignment, which is the entire point of making this teamup happen post-Origins.
“Gabriel sucks.” “No disagreements here, dude.” “Wanna use the Cataclysm to total his car?” “...we can slash his tires.” “And maybe we can key his door while we’re at it?” “Well, he’s a rich jerk, so anything that’ll make him spend more money is okay in my books.” “Yes! Vandalism for justice!”

Fire Opal's List of Unusual Things We Liked about Miraculous Ladybug
Here is a not-so-short list of things Me and Pearl liked about Miraculous Ladybug.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng is a neuro-divergent teenage girl lead with a heavy amount of ego-centrism. There is strong evidence that she has some kind of anxiety disorder and autism.
Marinette's favorite color is pink and she likes sewing, but she's not condemned by the narrative as being too "girly". She is still strong and physically capable.
Adrien has many feminine traits, like being a model and being sensitive, but he's still a fencer and the brawler between the duo. He's unashamed of his more feminine qualities and takes pride in his goofier traits as Chat Noir. We also see the pressure on Adrien to be more stoic and mimic his father's unhealthy habits of coping through violence.
I enjoy that between the male and female lead, she, the female lead, Marinette, has the stronger association with the traditionally masculine libido while her counterpart, Adrien, is associated with the more traditionally feminine romance.
Speaking of which, when solving issues, Marinette tends to lean towards directly solving the problem and tries to control as many variables as possible. This is very traditionally masculine which contrasts nicely with Adrien's feminine methods where he'll empathize and attempt to solve situations with more privacy.
This fits well with their backgrounds since Adrien is from an upper class society where such solutions are commonplace and expected. Your reputation is a VERY BIG DEAL, but your ethics....not so much. Being confrontational is a big no-no in his circle.
Meanwhile, Marinette is autistic with extreme social anxiety. If she doesn’t see it, she doesn't know it happened, and if she doesn't see a blatant reaction, she doesn't think you care. Her directness is partially because of her autism, but she's also taken several lessons to heart about appearing heroic and being a good example so these are IMPORTANT.
Ladybug seems to hold herself to a high standard as a role model, something many a female role model may struggle with.
Adrien's abuse is written very realistically, and I believe his justifications until I take a step back. His position as a fashion model also puts him in the feminine role of being treated like eye-candy with many people forgetting that he is a person.
Marinette is biracial, but seems to have lost most of her connection to her Asian identity. This is later revealed as having to do with her mother not wanting her to face racism she did. Marinette does seem to WANT a connection or address her heritage on some level (considering her uncle and the designs implemented in her clothes) but frequently fails except with references in fashion. I can relate in some ways.
Chat Noir's hair looks fluffy.
Marinette's hair bounces very cutely and vaguely resemble an exposed ladybug butt about to fly. I would use biology terms, but those are boring and sterile. If you have ever seen a Ladybug fly, you know what I mean. If you have not, I am sorry. You missed a true joy of life.
Memorable akuma designs. I see it, and I know about their powerset and recognize them. If not, their link to the goal is clear once it's explained. (Ie. Reflekta wanted people to look at her and remember her. Well, they do THAT)
It has puns.
The Lucky Charms are used very creatively and in a way that promotes spatial intelligence in a manner not often encouraged in children. The only two things I've seen that resemble this is McGuyver, who uses waaaay too much trivia and chemistry to interest me, and the 13th child, who also emphasizes something similiar, in teaching a lesson on ways to view a piece of chalk as other than a piece of chalk, which encourages creativity and flexible thinking without the need to break out the chemistry textbook. Yet, between the two series, Miraculous does it better and more throughly.
I can plot both Gabriel Agreste and Adrien's character developments in a way that mostly makes sense with incoming seasons. It is very rich and entertaining. The speculation between me and Pearl is priceless.
The classmates have their own unique personalities which are put in the lime light frequently. So many of them are adorable, and there are so many ships BOTH me and Pearl agree on. Yay!
The akumas are born of people losing emotions in various ways and we are focused regularly on their plight, so we understand their pain and empathize with them. In a show where the main characters share masculine and feminine traits, it is important that empathy be emphasized.
Its interesting that the main villain intentionally weaponizes emotions and engages in toxic masculinity while also being head of a fashion company, a very feminine industry. His focus on how one is seen and normalization of Adrien being treated as eye-candy are also examples of an external representation of the pressure women feel as well.
In short, the villain is the most toxic qualities of society's view of gender. While the heroes reflect the stresses of the roles placed on their gender and have traits both traditionally masculine and feminine.
