I hope everyone’s already read my gorgeous gift Wield Me by @tackytigerfic because that fic finally inspired me to finish and post this rec list! I’ve been a big Teddy fan since his name came up in the books; thanks to @lqtraintracks I was lucky to get introduced to and fall in love with Harry/Teddy many years ago. Sometimes it’s hard to read them together with other ships because just like Peter Parker, Teddy holds a very special place in my heart and I just want him to be happy and loved 🥹 so to celebrate my long-standing love for this character - which was boosted a hundred times by Tacky’s gift, I thought I’d share my favorite Teddys - both in romantic and platonic relationships - in fic. btw if anyone wants to start a Teddy centric fest let me know!

AN; In my au before Albus transitioned Harry named him after Narcissa because she saved him in the forest.

Narcissa looked at herself in the mirror and everything felt wrong. She didn't know who she was looking at but whoever it was didn't feel right. She has felt this way as long as she chould remember but the thing was she didn't know what was wrong. At first she thought it was her hair being too long so she cut it short. Then she thought it was her clothes so she stole James's. And that felt right but something was still wrong. She wished she know why she felt like this, it was a horrible feeling. She got this feeling whenever someone said her name or whenever her Dad proudly said ' That's my girl!' or like right now while looking in the mirror at the girl she didn't recognize. She pulled on a hoodie and went to the living room where a person with bright blue hair sat on the sofa. " Teddy!" The voice she didn't recognize said. Teddy pulled her into a hug " Hey long time no see Narcissa!" There was theat feeling again. Maybe Teddy whould understand. " Teddy can I talk to you? Alone?" Teddy nodded " Of course!" Narcissa took Teddy into her room. " What's up?" Teddy said sitting on her bed. " Somethings wrong with me - and I don't know what or why" she said sitting down next to him " I've felt this way forever and I just-". Teddy nodded "Take a deep breath it's okay, why don't you describe it?" Narcissa took a deep breath "Just an unshakeable feeling that somethings WRONG" Teddy looked thoughtful " Okay and when do you get this feeling what normally causes it?" Narcissa looked into the mirror " I feel it everyday but it gets stronger when I look in the mirror or when someone says my name, or calls me a girl, it just feels wrong" Teddy's eyes widened and then softened " I'm going to try something okay? And if that feels wrong to let me know" Narcissa nodded. " Hows my favorite nephew today?" That made her feel something but I didn't feel wrong infact it felt right like that was always how it was ment to be. " That feels ... Alot better- but why?" Teddy smiled " I know the feeling I think you might be a boy- and that's totally okay "

what are thee best drarry fics to read in this day and age? I've not read any for a few years and I don't know what's good 🤔

what an incredibly flattering question! i do not know what your tastes run to, but here are a few of my recentish favorites in no particular order. i think these are all m or e, as that tends to be what i go for. they're also properly adults, well out of hogwarts, and the stories are sort of mid length, over 10K, under 100K. make sure you read the tags!

Necro-romance by @thehoneybeet coming in hot!!!! i feel like this is a very very profoundly drarry story. we are fucked up in some of the same ways so let's do weird sex about it. dark, weird, very tender. incredible atmosphere. loved it!!!

In Every Universe by @skeptiquewrites this is like an AU hopping fic where draco is on the run for Reasons, and harry is chasing him. not with state violence in his heart. please come home. EXQUISITE worldbuilding, one of my favorite things about Tee's fics. This fic is so fun and there are also some really heartwrenching moments that i won't even come close to spoiling. god i love it it's so fucking good

Anatomy of a Wolf Heart this fic is orphaned but i actually do know the author very well (and love him with all my heart). this is an amazing draco. he's dealing with some significant trauma on top of what he went through in canon. all i'm gonna say is werewolf draco cinematic universe my beloved. i love this harry, too. compulsively doing the right thing even as it fucks his whole life up. yum.

Home Truths another @skeptiquewrites fic bc Tee's writing got me WEAK. i rlly love the ensemble here!!! harry and draco are both amazing characters whom i adore, but they are also surrounded by other characters who feel so real and so lived in. wonderful worldbuilding as per usual w this author. and. harry is a pro athlete at the peak of his career so uh. he do be inhabiting his physical form. it's sexy okay. damn. Tee has a talent for capturing Draco's drama and prissiness without making him feel like a caricature. i found this story genuinely inspiring for lots of reasons, and i can't say enough good things about it.

Preserving Lemons by @saintgarbanzo (this one is locked to the archive, so you'll need to be logged in to read it) god i love this story!!! food as a love language? gender magic? fucking YES PLEASE. it's nice to see them get out of the typical Stately Homes backdrop (i enjoy that too, but. well i'm not going to go off on a tangent about it now. variety is the spice of life!). lots of sensuality here and a heaping dollop of straight up fucking. i just love this depiction of them. i love draco's offers of vulnerability and harry's diving in face first. LOVE.

A Gift of True Esteem by ME! i am big enough to acknowledge that i write fucking good fic okay!!! hogwarts professors, chronic illness, historiography, gratuitous use of patronuses, fun world building in general. harry has been self-isolating a little bit. burying himself in his work. he has to let himself feel things again. joy, love, pleasure. draco makes him want to.

Names for a House this is also by me bc it's my fuckn list and i do what i want!!! harry is raising teddy lupin after andromeda gets sick (don't worry i do not kill off any old ladies in this fic). harry is also the wizarding world's first novelist. teddy lupin is a budding werewolf about to go off to hogwarts, and harry is not sure how to do right by him. FORTUNATELY harry's erstwhile nemesis and current cursebreaker is also a werewolf and teddy's cousin, and he's more than willing to help out.

Summary: What happens when the beloved Loki the cat goes missing for two weeks. Once he comes back, everyone’s relieved, thinking the chaos was over. But two months later a little surprise pops up on their doorstep.

Pairing: Fred Weasley x reader, Remus Lupin x Sirius Black

A/n: ik it's been about a week or so since this was requested, so sorry it took so long, my exams and projects were being a bitch but now they're over. Also thank you for sending this request, it is honestly such a cute thing that I was really excited to write it, tho I sorta focused more on Loki going missing for a bit.

"Love, have you seen Loki anywhere?" You asked Fred as you entered your room after having spent the last 30 minutes looking through every nook and cranny in the cottage.

Fred, who had been hidden away in your room to brainstorm new product ideas, had just noticed the absence of the very lovable cat. Fred had the tendency to lose track of time when he's busy planning and brainstorming pranking ideas.

"No, I haven't....which is odd."

It was very odd indeed. Anyone who's met Loki, knows that he's a very clingy and lovable cat. Which meant he was either bugging someone for cuddles and head scratches or following you around like a baby duckling. If it's neither of them, then he's probably off sleeping in his favourite napping spots. But even then, when you went to look for him there, he was nowhere to be found.

"Yeah, I checked everywhere. His favourite napping bookshelf, the kitchen cupboards, the laundry room, I even checked the bloody roof for Merlin's sake and he's not there." You ranted as you began to pace back and forth. Never have you been away from Loki this long.

Even when you guys were at Hogwarts, he would always find a way to get to you. Appearing randomly in the middle of charms or greeting you at the entrance of the transfiguration classroom. He never failed to make a random appearance every 30-40 minutes of being apart.

"What if he ran away?" You theorised with a worried look.

"Loki? Run away? Are you daft? That cat would rather face God himself than runaway from you." Fred assured as he got up from his desk and towards you.

"What if he got catnapped..." You suggested, your ramblings only went down hill from there.

Going from getting catnapped to a theory that maybe one one of Voldemort's minions got their hands of Loki and is gonna use him for ransom in exchange for Harry. To which you contemplated on actually giving Harry away in exchange for Loki.

"I mean Harry can handle himself, Loki can't and-"

"Love-"

"Loki just hates strangers so he'd-"

"Love-"

"go absolutely feral if he was placed in that situation-" You only continued Fred's calls as the worrying thoughts began to drown you.

"Y/N!"

Finally after a few minutes of worry filled ramblings, Fred finally got through to you. You probably would have sunk to the floor if you didn't have him to keep you upright.

"Everything is going to be fine. Teddy and your dads are going to be home before dinner, meaning we still have some time to search around the house and maybe even the nearby places in the forest. When they get here, we can ask them to help us look for him. Okay?"

Fred was trying his hardest to keep you as calm as you could. He knew that if anything were to happen to Loki, you would fall apart. You loved that cat like it was your own child.

You slowly nodded as you tried to slow down your breathing. It felt like your thoughts were going 100 miles per hour and everything was a mess.

You both started to look through the whole house again. It didn't hurt to double check things. Then your search stretched all the way out to the woods by the time Sirius, Remus and Teddy came back home.

When you broke the news to them, they immediately panicked. Sirius especially, he was almost as worried as you were. He himself started frantically looking everywhere around the house and even offered to try and "catch his scent" in his animagus form to try and look for him.

By the end of the night you had ended your search by the lake near the cottage. There was no sign of him anywhere. And it wasn't like you could ask any nearby neighbours seeing as you lived in the middle of nowhere with zero neighbours. Literally miles away from the closest town.

(time skip for 2 weeks)

It's been about two whole weeks since you last saw Loki and you basically lost all hope in finding him. You've left out missing cat posters at the nearby town but knowing Loki, he tends to stray away from crowded places.

Loki was the only pet you and Teddy ever had so it was hard to process it.

You deeply missed him and were starting to wonder about the possibility that he was...dead.

The mere thought brought a chill down your spine and tears to your eyes. You didn't want to think he was dead. Loki was a big part of your world and you loved him with all your heart.

Ever since the moment you found him in that little box that rainy night. You just knew that that little guy was going to be part of your family.

You went out to the garden to rethink possible places Loki could have gone. Even though you and the others have exhausted all options and locations possible. There was still hope he could have gone somewhere and was simply trying to find his way back home.

You sat down under the shade of a tree. You closed your eyes as you took in a deep breath. For a moment, you felt something soft and fluffy land on your lap. You thought you were imagining things but you started to feel the fluffy thing begin to purr and even let out a soft meow.

Your eyes shot open as you realized what it was.

"LOKI!?!!"

Your scream echoed through the house which called the attention of the two adults and child who were sitting in the living room.

"Is it really you, bud?!?!" You still couldn't believe your eyes but the moment you saw the dark green collar, you knew it was him.

You pulled him into your arms, noting the amount of dirt and twigs in his fur but you didn't mind, you were too overjoyed at the fact he was back to even realise it.

"We've been looking everywhere for you, bud, you can't just run off like that. Merlin knows what kind of mischief could have happened wherever you were." You cooed as you held the black cat tightly in your arms, scared he might run off again.

A head of blue hair poked through the back door. With a wide grin on Teddy's face. His eyes lit up at the sight of Loki.

He wasn't as close to Loki as you were but he adored the cat nonetheless. He ran to you and joined the two of you in a hug.

Then followed a very excited Sirius who nearly tripped on his way out the door and a cheery Remus who chuckled at the sight before he reached the little reunion going on.

Sirius may have not been too keen on having a cat before but ever since Loki entered their lives, he had a change of heart.

“Where the bloody hell has he been?!” Sirius asked as he knelt down and expected the cat.

“I have no idea but it looks like he’s been roughing it for the last few weeks.” You stated as you lifted up Loki’s paws to see his paws literally coated in dirt and mud.

“Poor boy, let’s give you a bath.” Sirius stated as he lifted Loki out of your arms and walked off to the bathroom. 

“See, you didn’t have to worry about anything. Other than the dirt, he looks completely untouched.” Remus stated as he pulled both you and Teddy off the ground.

You nodded your head with a chuckle, “Yeah, I guess you were right. I should go write to Freddie that Loki’s home.” 

(2 months later)

You were going about your day in the Kitchen. You planned on making a cake and Fred volunteered to help out.

You chuckled at the sight of Fred covered in flour, sugar, eggs and some frosting. It looked more like he got most of the cake ingredients on him rather than in the bowl.

You looked a similar way since Fred decided to have a food fight since it didn’t seem fair that you barely had a speck of flour on your apron while he had the entire bag of flour on him.

Your attention was brought somewhere else when you heard a series of meowing coming from the front door.

You peeked your head through the archway to see Loki standing by the door as he scratched on the surface. He looked like he wanted to go out. 

You dusted off the flour from your hands and opened the door for him, but you froze when you looked down at the sight that sat on your doorstep.

“....uh, Fred! Can you come here for a second!” You called out to your boyfriend, not taking your eyes at the scene before you.

Fred rested his hand on your shoulder as he peaked over to the doorstep, “What is it lov- why is there a bunch of kittens and a cat on your doorstep?” 

“I-uh...I have no idea.” 

You looked down at the three kittens and mama cat and saw Loki go up to her and began to cuddle into her side.

“You don’t think….Oh merlin.” You cursed under your breath as you started to connect the dots.

You could even see the little similarities between the litter to Loki. It looked like they were only a few days old. It was a wonder how the mama cat even got them to your front door. The fact that Loki was cuddling into the mama cat said it all. Loki rarely ever goes near other animals. He’s terrified of them.

“Can you call dad and papa…And grab a warm towel too.” You stated as you slowly knelt down and examined the little group.

“Oh merlin, what are we going to do with you lot.” You sighed as you slowly reached out to the kittens. Making sure to check if it was okay with the mother cat.

Once she knew it was safe to touch them, you reached out the three kittens and felt the soft fur.

The mother cat had white fur with grey stripes across it which was quite contrasting to Loki’s black fur.

One of the kittens looked almost exactly like Loki as a kitten. The other two kittens looked more like their mama.

“What is it little wol-”

Sirius nearly dropped the ceramic plate he had in his hands when he saw the litter of kittens.

“What in Godrick’s name is this?!?!” Sirius asked as slowly walked closer to the kittens.

Fred handed you the warm towel before Sirius pushed him out of the way while handing the ceramic plate to Fred so he could get a peak of the adorable kittens.

“Oh merlin, don’t let Teddy see the-” Remus winced as he heard the footsteps coming up from behind him.

“Don’t let me see what?” Teddy wondered as he stood behind the group.

The boy pushed through the group and let out a yelp when he saw what Remus was trying to hide from him.

“Holy guacamole on a tortilla chip, is that what I think it is?!?!” Teddy’s eyes were as wide as tennis balls.

The group chuckled at the boy’s peculiar choice of words. 

“Yes, now move out of the way. We need to take them out of this freezing cold weather.” You stated as you gently carried the kittens into the warmth of the cottage.

As you walked on, the mama cat and Loki began to follow you through the home.

“Are they Loki’s? And if so, can we keep them, even the mama cat? Cause if we can keep them I want to name them. That mama cat should be called Astra, That sounds so pretty. That black one should be Loki 2.0- wait no that’s a horrible name. I’ll get back to him. These other two should be named after Apollo and Artemis- OH! The black one should be Hades! Yes that’s perfect-”

“Don’t get attached, Teddy. We’re not even sure if we can keep them. It’s up to papa and dad, you know that.” You reminded your brother.

Teddy turned to both his dads with so much excitement, you would have thought he was having a sugar rush.

“Pleeeaaase! Can we keep them?” Teddy was going through all the stops. Pouting his lips and looking up at your parents with his “Puppy dog eyes” that he learned from your dear papa.

Sirius and Remus shared a look and for a moment, you could tell they were having a little conversation of their own. After a few seconds the two adults decided on the verdict.

“What’s four more?”

That reminds me of why I really dislike that the epilogue exists.... other than the fact that it's totally unnecessary and adds nothing of importance to the story, it actually portrays, in my opinion, a strangely stagnant and therefore bitter (imo) ending for these characters I truly loved through my childhood and teens... Like, the fact that they just...stayed the same... married the person they started dating in school (regardless of actual compatibility)...the same friendships and enmities.... I just remember reading that epilogue and immediately rejecting it cause I found it weirdly depressing and it also kinda felt like the author was kinda forcing the characters into a certain destiny beyond what was necessary, which sounds really weird but I do think there's a point where, as a writer, you have to let the story go and leave 'what happens next' to the readers' imaginations.

there's a reason for this, i think. i actually happen to like a lot of the endgame couples — i think that harry and ginny being straight-out-of-school/married-young-in-wartime sweethearts is cute, and makes sense for their characters. i like the idea of them naming the kids after harry's parents, Sirius, and Luna (Obvious Exception Notwithstanding!!!) because it ties in with the themes of family/love transcending death and also happens to be a real-life phenomenon that young couples do to commemorate the wartime dead! i think it's great that neville's a herbology professor — it's an ultimate triumph over Snape to become the exact opposite kind of teacher, one who offers support and understanding to slow-learning children — and although i hate what happened to Lupin and Tonks, the idea of Harry raising Teddy as his own son/nephew/younger brother/Unidentified But Beloved Family Member in the same way Sirius probably would have raised Harry, if he had the chance. it ties in very well with "healing past wrongs" as an underlying motif for the next generation.

and you know what, fuck it, i'm not ashamed to say it: I like the Third Gen kids. they are good character concepts and they have hints of interesting story arcs! I like the idea of harry's oldest son being this ridiculously high-energy, sociable, nosy-ass Fred Weasley type popular kid, because — yeah, that's what both of your parents are! of course you're like that! and I really like the idea of [REDACTED MIDDLE CHILD NAME] being a Slytherin with strong moral values, because that's an arc that frankly should have happened in the original books, and it reads like a graceful acknowledgement of how the author mishandled Slytherin House (even if it's kind of dissonant with their behavior in the Battle of Hogwarts, but whatever). Lily we don't have much to go on, but she reads a bit like a young Ginny if she were less shy. but none of that quality changes the fact that these characters shouldn't exist.

authors coming to the end of their first work have trouble letting go of it, especially when that work is long. (even though it was her seventh book, Deathly Hallows was the first time JKR ever had to actually end a "story" as such). they're scared of leaving something out, and I think these long-range time jumps are a reaction to the desire to hold onto these characters as long as possible — to delay the inevitable goodbye, and claim authorship of as much of their characters' lives as possible. the problem is that you don't want to undo the happy ending they've just earned, so you can't realistically portray the tensions and breakups and conflicts that would happen if the characters were left to develop naturally for nineteen years. which is why the epilogue feels false to me.

and the funny thing is, for fans of the "canon" epilogue ships, ending it after the Battle of Hogwarts wouldn't change anything! it's ironic, because in theory you'd want an author to confirm that your pairing gets a big happy wedding, but when a ship is endgame, it's assumed that they have a "happy ever after" anyways. we don't read Percy Jackson and assume that he and Annabeth have an acrimonious divorce in their 40's. we don't wonder (at least, not as serious analysts of the text) if Arwen and Aragorn need to get couples counseling. maybe they do, and maybe they would, but that's not relevant to the story that's being told, and the way the narrative frames it, the "ending" of their story is itself the end of the line for their pairing. the moment you stop writing, they exist in perpetuity as a loving relationship, and you don't need to tell us they get married! they have been immortalized as lovers! harry and ginny would be THE endgame couple of the series whether or not we knew their children's names. they are each others' destiny.

and the end of the day, the problem with the epilogue boils down to this: either their story ends at the battle of hogwarts, or it didn't. if it didn't, then it looks like you have another book to write. and if it did, then it's time to take your hands off the wheel.

Summary - The occupents of Grimmauld Place are rushing to catch the Hogwarts Express. Its time to take a new trip on the train that hearlded so many changes in all their lives. This time they are going to catch it together. A03 here

Remus stood at the floo and looked around. He knew they were going to be late. They were always late for everything now days.

He cast a quick Sonorus on himself so he could be heard throughout the house. Grimmauld Place had expanded over the years, giving them all what they needed in a home. Including working internal floo places, so Remus didn’t have to climb the now 5 flights of stairs with his bum hip.

“Oy, hurry up you lot. We are going to miss the train,” he called into the house.

He listened with a smile as he heard three pairs of running feet. Two much too old to be acting like it was their first time on the Hogwarts Express.

Not that Remus really minded. He was excited about this year. He hated leaving his family behind when he went to work at Hogwarts like he had been for the last 4 years. Now he didn’t have to.

Teddy had turned 11 and was off to boarding school. Even knowing Minerva wouldn’t allow the same things that happened to Harry to happen to Teddy, Remus had refused to let him go if he didn’t have a close adult on sight.

Minerva had taken it as a challenge.

This year Remus was going back as the History of Magic teacher and the Deputy Head. He was giving up his beloved DADA position, but he couldn’t help but beam when his successor came bounding through the doorway, a beaming smile on his face, hair every which way and his glasses askew.

“You might want t put yourself together before we get tot he platform, Professor,” Remus teased Harry, who blushed as he straightened himself out.

Harry just waved a hand behind him, as though Remus should understand why he looked like he had been tousling.

It turned out it was because he was. Remus rolled his eyes as Sirius Lupin walked through the doorway, looking magnificent for a 50-year-old man. Not that they could say that number around his delicate ears.

“Can you believe it, Moony mine? Prongslet tried to lock me in my room. Apparently it would be funny to see the new Charms professor come into the feast late,” Sirius said, a faux glare on his face as he turned, hands on his hips as he stared Harry down.

“Oh please, as if you wouldn’t have enjoyed the attention. Where is Teddy?” Remus said as he nudged Sirius towards the floo, looking for his son.

“He’s packing some last-minute supplies,” Harry said.

“What supplies?” Remus suddenly said, as he turned to look at Harry suspiciously.

“Just stuff he needs for Hogwarts. Don’t worry Moony, I helped him pack,” Harry said with a beaming grin.

“That’s what I’m worried about,” Remus sighed as he watched Teddy come in, his hair bright yellow, no surprise what House he wanted to get into.

Sirius walked over and helped Teddy with his trunk, accepting the hug the boy seemed to dish out so easily. Something that the three men had never experienced, even at his age.

“Thanks Pads, it’s heavy,” Teddy said, smiling softly.

“Its all right Teddy Bear, come on, we’re almost late,” Sirius said as he placed a kiss n Teddy’s head before taking the trunk and walking through the floo, Teddy on his heels.

“I think he loves that boy more than me,” Harry said with a laugh and a smile.

Remus knew he was joking, knew he didn’t mean it, but he instantly whipped around and grabbed Harry’s shoulders. It didn’t matter how broad he got, how filled out, how he aged, he was still the little boy Remus and Sirius had adored before he had even been born; he was the boy they had fought and literarily died (and came back) for.

“He loves you more than anyone in the world, Harry, including me. The wonderful thing about Sirius is he is made of love and loyalty, but I promise he doesn’t love Teddy more, he doesn’t love me more. He knows I can and will protect Teddy from the world. So even now, even with you as a grown man, you will always be the one he protects first, the one he thinks of first. For Sirius, you have been his first thought for 28 years. It won’t end now, it never will.” Remus said earnestly. Wanting Harry to understand, even now, the depths of Sirius’ love for the boy. All of their love for the boy.

“Ok Moony,” Harry said shyly.

Remus sighed, even a decade of counseling and self esteem work couldn’t get rid of the insidious voice that told Harry he was unwanted, that he was the last choice, that he was here to be used, not to be loved the way they did.

“Come on Prongslet, we have a new chapter in our lives. One we are entering together, ok?” Remus said as he gently squeezed Harry’s shoulder.

“I’m glad we can stay together this year,” Harry mumbled.

“Me too, cub, me too. Now come on, Sirius will hold the train up if we are any later and it will be me Minerva sends the howler too,” Remus said as he ushered him towards the floo.

Harry couldn’t help but laugh as he took the next step on his life journey, one that took him back to where it all began. But this time, he had his family by his side.

For me is fun to see the difference from italian fandom and international fandom.

First of all: there are no purity culture in italian fandom. We ship and we write anything, and I mean anything. Of course we have our own archive that has rules, so there are some limits, but with the rise of AO3 we all are more free. And of course I can only tell about my little bubble and my little experience, but... We create the repayement ship, for god's sake, my beloved OTP Severus Snape/Lily Luna Potter. In the international fandom I would be eaten (and in fact I had experience with haters that called me pedo because of it right here on tumblr and that was so fun to me!). Also other ships I read and go strong in my bubble that can be classified ad "problematic": Salazar Slytherin/Helena Rawenclaw, Albus Dumbledore/Tom Riddle, Gellert Grindelwald/Ariana Dumbledore, Gellert Grindelwald/Tom Riddle, Tom Riddle/Helena Rawenclaw-The Gray Lady (maybe we invented even this ship, my friend start posting about them and it was so good so much other italian fanwriter writed about them), Sirius Black/Hermione Granger, Sirius Black/Ginevra Weasley, Severus Snape/Ginevra Weasley (I skip about Snamione etc you all knew them), Teddy Lupin/Rose Weasley, James Sirius Potter/Rose Weasley, Harry Potter/Rose Weasley and maybe I forgot something 🤔 That are all ships I wrote about (and praised for) and NO ONE bat an eye for the TW implied in them. I read so much beautiful stories about this ships, you have no idea.

Also in the specific of the Marauders fandom and the Slytherin, the italian fandom is so far away from international fandom that I lost myself some times trying to keep track of the characters (wtf is Lorenzo now??? I mean I barely understand who Mattheo Riddle is - and only because that one fanwriter I know who mostly wrote about the marauder era choose to write a story about him for fun; also I laugh because in italian the correct name spelling is Matteo). And maybe I was fixed on the fic that my friend write because now I can ship only Regulus/Barty (and Regulus/Barty/Alex where Alex is an OC 😂); also no Pandora in Slytherin, no black Mary-Dorcas (not sure who is black here), no Bruce Mulciber (??? Also not black Mulciber) and in general always a different setting. There is no "standard" in the italian marauders era, everyone write his own character and put them all in different houses and give them different ages (for example I read quite some stories where Dorcas Meadowes is older or much older then James&co). And NO JEGULUS AT ALL. Everyone in Italy seems to hate Jegulus (at least in my bubble). Unfortunately some quite like wolfstar but... It is one of the older ships, not something born now like Jegulus. And also no Mary/Lily, Dorcas/the other one girl I don't remember, etc etc... But the most important thing DEATH EATHER STAY DEATH EATER SO NOBODY WANTS TO HAVE TO INTERACT WITH THEM. I read beautiful stories from DE pov and they stay in the DE side of the war. The author try to make you emphatize with them (so no justify their action because they think that they are right and you can feel that - and this is great writing you all, not a propaganda for the bad side nor pronazi or other garbage shits I read from the anti and the international fandom about this) but no one is redeemed or fall in love with the light or other bullshit. Lord, even the death of Regulus has more sense in the fic I read instead of the bullshit "He change side because he love his House Elf so he is good!!!" that I read here.

Okay this became a wall of text so I stop here BUT if you are biligual/etc can you share your experience about the difference from your homecountry fandom and the international one? I'm curios 😂

I wasn't sure if you meant 001 Teddy in a relationship or 002 Teddy as a character, but since it's just him, I'll go with Teddy as a character:

How I feel about this character: I love Teddy. He's my little bean, my cinnamon bun, my precious baby who we must protect at all costs.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Depends on the situation. If we're talking strictly canon, Victoire. I think they'd have such a sweet relationship, especially considering that their parents knew each other.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: Teddy & Lily Luna as older brother/little sister vibes. I know James Sirius is the oldest brother for the Potter kids, but I think Teddy has a soft spot for Lily Luna and vice versa.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Teddy does eventually come to terms with his parents' deaths. I think he will have his moments of wondering what if, what if, but for the most part he'll accept what happened.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: HIS PARENTS BEING ALIVE GOSH. THE WHOLE LUPIN FAMILY TOGETHER.

Harry is born from James/Lily but Lily is engaged to Mary :D

For Queen & Country by Quietlemonhush ABO verse, Regulus has HAD it with Wolfstars being pining idiots. When Sirius (supressed for years) heat hits, he calls Remus to the rescue.

Sirius Andy and Narcissa save him (Bella had her tattoo covered by the Dark Mark and didn't feel the distress signal) and from then on it's the entire House of Black on bloodpath. It's just a lot, and they have unresolved issues (esp Sirius and his inability to not give Teddy comfort whenever the toddler cries). Mary suggests they join a muggle TV show that helps struggling families like them. Ft. baby whisperer Regulus. I really enjoyed it!

Anyways, i decided to write a fic that tells Dramione's story through newspaper articles, official statements and gossip columns. So, be aware that the narrator isn't completely reliable. This story is basically just fluff and attempts at humor in between, everyone gets along and is redeemed. This fic is more or less finished but I have decided to split it into 10 parts, I'll post a new part whenever I have the time. I hope you enjoy this!

Things you might want to know about my story: Astoria & Ron are acknowledged as important people in Draco's & Hermione's lives, Narcissa Malfoy is basically a completely different person, Teddy Lupin is a beloved member of Malfoy's family. Scorpius ecxists and is friends with Albus Potter - Harry is completely fine with it bc you know, everything else would be completely inconsistent with his character *cough*, Voldemort does not (!) have a child bc that does not make any sense. Please do not look too closely at the timeline lmao

I FEEL SO MUCH ANGUISH RIGHT NOW!

In a delirious and drunken manner I fell asleep while thinking about one of my wip. AND NOTHING IS WRITTEN DOWN. I WANNA SCREAM.

Good thing about this is I've worked out some canon and lore to work with.

I think I spent like 4 or 5 hours just trying to get comfortable enough to sleep while thinking about this trying to lull myself to not awake. This is a HP project btw so expect that.

My oc and Theodore Nott are in a relationship for about 2 ish years, starting at the end of book 3 to about the end of book 5. By book 6 they're no longer together due to Theo becoming a Death Eater and my oc joining the Order. They both know this about one another and it makes their conversations awkward.

My oc knows when Draco is attacked by Harry and instinctively comes to his aid. Showing up at the same time Snape does, and in a fit my oc almost tears Harry's throat out. After calming down a bit, my oc demands that Snape teach him the spells he created, specifically the counter curses.

My OC's patronus is a large Dragon.

Sirius Black doesn't die in book 5 here, because my oc nearly rips Bellatrix in half, getting himself nearby killed in the process.

At the beginning of book 4 Theodore sends a quick and vague letter to my oc about not going to the Quidditch world cup. Not that he was planning on going anyways, but it didn't help the sinking feeling he got when he read about what happened the next day.

My oc didn't know Cedric Diggory very well, but my oc is known as the best person to go to about Magical Creatures in the entire school. So Cedric comes to him for help on his tasks. After Cedric's death a small memorial is etched into the wall next to the Hufflepuff commons. Something My oc passes on a daily basis to get to the Slytherin commons, and each time he pauses just for a few moments. It reads: "The boy who sacrificed his own life to save another. A beloved son and friend."

The moment my oc realizes that his and Theodore's relationship has no future is when towards the middle of book 5, the two spend the night talking about their plans after Hogwarts. Theo wants a job in the Ministry, a place where his words have sway in the lives and citizenship of Magical People, like werewolves and Vampires. Where my oc, he wants to continue his work with Magical creatures and act as a ambassador to others like him (he's a werewolf). That night my oc falls deeper in love with Theodore Nott, but also realizes that in theory they two could never be happy with one another once adults. The next day they break up mutually.

Being estranged from his father, Remus Lupin makes joining the Order all the more weird. He's treated equally as a student and son, yet its awkward and tense between them. And when he learns he going to have a baby half brother he's not sure how to feel. When both Tonks and Remus die, he takes partial custody of baby Teddy, the other part is with Tonk's mother.

He's one of the few Slytherin's that joins Dumbledore's army in book 5, which eases the school's overall fear of him being a werewolf. He's no longer ignored but now has an actual social life outside of a few acquaintances and his roommates. (Theodore Nott, Draco Malfoy, and Blaise Zabini.)

His relationship with Snape is complicated to say the least. Neither despise one another, but there's a lot of tension. Snape hates the fact that he's Lupin's kid, but so does my oc at times. Snape is his head of house and has to be involved with him every month to give him his wolvesbane potion. In book 6 when Snspe kills Dumbledore instead of Draco, my oc is actually relieved. He's been dealing with Draco all year who mentally is a mess. And now also a werewolf like himself.

Draco and my OC's relationship is never official until the War is over. But the two find solace in one another even on opposite sides of the conflict.

My oc and Theodore manage to stay friends even after the War, especially due to the fact that in the final conflict he, like Draco leaves the Death Eaters even if it means killing their parents.

Ch. 6 We’ll fix this

James laid awake, listening to his two cousins snore as they lay a few feet away. Sunlight peeked through the worn down curtains and warmed his face, like a warm hug that he wished would last forever.

He’d have to get up soon, breakfast would be ready and his entire family would be up. But for now he was more than happy to lay down and ignore the feeling of doom as the time ticked back. With every second he got closer to the confrontation between himself and Teddy, maybe even his cousins as well. James would rather not think about that, but alas, his brain didn’t seem to be his friend at the moment and would only think of that.

But before he knew it an hour had passed and he was walking down the stairs for breakfast along with his half asleep cousins. Heading towards his doom.

Maybe it won’t be that bad, James tried to reason with himself, maybe Teddy will change his mind and decide that everything is fine, because it is fine. He’s fine.

He has to be fine.

But sitting down with his family around him and desperately trying to not look at Teddy he couldn’t help but feel anything but fine. It felt like he was drowning and anxiety was climbing up his throat and choking him, holding him down and breaking him. So James did what he did best, he smiled and laughed as he ate breakfast with his family. And if he had to hide his hands under the table because they wouldn’t stop shaking then no one had to no, it’s not like anyone would actually care anyways.

“So!” Charlie clapped his hands together with a large grin on his face, “What have the next generation of Weasley kids been up to at school?”

Almost immediately every kid at the table started talking, even Albus was sharing what he and Scorpius had been doing the last week.

Fred leaned across the table and gave James a strained smile, “Why don’t you tell everyone what happened in potions a while ago?”

Roxanne joined in, “Or about that friend of yours who none of us knew existed until this year,” she gave James an innocent smile as she scooped a spoonful of oatmeal in her mouth.

Teddy narrowed his eyes at James from his spot at the table, “Yeah,” he said slowly, “tell us about what happened in potions Jamie.”

James clutched at his hands under the table as he gave everyone a large grin, the others had all paused their own conversation to stare at him curiously.

“Oh, you know,” James said dismissively, “just a small accident in potions that I fixed. Freddie can probably tell you more about it, it’s kinda my fault that we needed to fix the potion in the first place.” James said with an embarrassed smile.

He ignored the way Fred and Roxanne frowned at him, turning his head he froze when he found himself staring straight at Teddy.

James gripped at his pants tighter, nails digging into his skin through the material, and gave his godbrother a forced smile before looking away.

“Well, actually,” Fred said stiffly, “James and I were talking and neither of us realized the potion was bubbling until it burnt us. James fixed it and I think he might be Slughorn’s new favorite.” Fred paused for a moment and seemed to remember something, “that and convinced that Jamie here is a secret potions expert and takes after his grandma on Uncle Harry’s side.”

Before anyone could say anything James spoke up, “Yeah, well, I’d say it’s just the Potter luck. Me being good at something only in an emergency. Everyone knows Lily is the best at potions in our family, I heard she’s got nothing but O’s on all her work in there so far,” James said proudly.

He also may have been directing the attention towards someone else, but it worked. Almost everyone turned towards his younger sister and began talking to her.

Another hour passed and the conversations started to die down as plates stopped being filled with food.

“Kids,” Hermione started once she saw everyone was just about done with breakfast, “We know this is rather unexpected so we’ve all decided,” she gestured towards herself and the other adults at the table, “That for today you can do whatever you wish as long as you don’t leave the house.”

She stood up along with Ron, Harry and Ginny, “The four of us have some things at the ministry to do but we’ll be back by lunch,” she told Molly.

Hermione and Ron hugged and kissed Hugo and Rose goodbye as Harry and Ginny did the same with their kids, taking a minute longer with Albus.

“We’ll be back soon,” Ginny promised.

George sighed as he stood up as well, “You all aren’t the only ones who got told about this rather last minute,” he said dryly, “I’ll be back around lunch as well, I have a business meeting that couldn’t be rescheduled.”

George gave his mother a kiss on the cheek before doing the same with his wife and kids.

Dominique stared at the rest of the adults with an unimpressed look, “Anyone else have to leave even though all of us are forced to be here?” She snapped.

Percy stood up with Lucy, “Lucy has a project for school so we’ll be at the muggle library for most of the day, if anyone likes I can take one other person with us as well,” he said.

James moved to stand up but Fred reached over and wrapped an arm around his shoulder, “Thanks for the offer Uncle P, but I think we’re good staying here.”

Percy cast a sideways look towards Molly and Teddy before looking back at James and Fred, “I’m sure you are,” he mumbled before saying goodbye bye to everyone and leaving with Lucy.

Teddy stood up, “Well, I’ll be in the garden then. James, can you come help me with something?”

Fred tightened his grip on James, “How about we both go, yeah Jamsey?”

Bill and Fleur watched the three of them with confused looks, they were the last adults still at the table, “Is there something we should be aware of?” Bill asked tiredly.

“Nope!” Fred said happily

“Merlin, he gets more like his mother everyday. I’m starting to wish he was more like George,” Bill grumbled as he got up and started gathering dirty dishes and walking away.

James felt just a bit betrayed by his uncle for leaving him.

Before he knew it he was being dragged to the garden by Fred and Teddy. Molly, Roxanne and Vic were already there waiting for them.

“Oh, wow guys, this is starting to feel like an intervention,” James joked weakly.

He got four glares and one guilty look in response.

“Tough crowd,” he muttered.

“James, what the fuck has been going on with you?” Teddy snapped, his usual turquoise hair had turned into a mix of vomit green and dark orange.

Teddy was angry and worried then.

“Whatever do you mean my dearest godbrother?” James asked with a strained smile.

Teddy glowered at the younger boy, “What I mean is why did it look like you were having a panic attack in the kitchen when me and Vic walked in? How come as soon as you saw us you smiled and said a joke? Why the hell did Molly tell us that this isn’t anything new?” Teddy hissed.

James turned towards Molly with a betrayed look, she immediately winced and tried to explain, “I didn’t mean to say anything James. They just kept asking questions and then they were going to tell your parents and it slipped out! I’m sorry”

Victoire stared at her cousin in disbelief, “You’re sorry?” She yelled, “James had a panic attack and he didn’t tell anyone! His first response when he saw us was to tell a joke instead of telling us that something was wrong!”

Fred and Roxanne stared at the two older girls before glancing at each other worriedly, “Hey,” Fred said, “Let’s all just calm down. We agreed that we would do this without blaming anyone or getting mad,” he sent a sharp look towards Teddy.

“James,” Roxanne started, “What’s wrong?”

They all turned towards him and James stumbled back, he felt warm. Why was it so warm? And why was he having trouble breathing suddenly? Merlin, it felt like he had just ran one of those marathons Adam was always talking about. But it was worse, it was so much worse.

It felt like something was squeezing his chest and an alarm was going off inside.

He’s felt like this before, it was the day his mask started to finally crack. The day Teddy and Victoire walked in on him in the kitchen. He’s even felt like this in front of Adam once, when he found out Albus was missing and in danger. Adam had helped him, but Adam wasn’t here and James still couldn’t breath.

“-ames!? James! Merlin!” Fred shouted as he ran towards his cousin.

James flinched back and felt the fog in his mind clear up, his chest still felt like it was being squeezed and his hands wouldn’t stop shaking but he could breath easily again. James swallowed and looked at his cousins and Teddy.

“Think I can convince you all to pretend this didn’t happen?” James asked weakly.

Teddy stared at him with a hurt look, “That was my fault, wasn’t it?” He whispered.

His hair had turned an ashen gray that had become limp.

James shook his head furiously, “What? No, no. That’s happened before, it wasn’t…I mean it was but,” James eyes darted around frantically, “it’s complicated Teddy. This? All of this? It’s not worth it. Just forget about everything you think you know and we can go back to before.” James said finally.

Roxanne shook her head, “No, James I can’t pretend that this didn’t happen and even if I could I don’t want to go back to before. You aren’t okay and I’m sorry that we didn’t see that before. I’m sorry James. But we’re seeing it now, so let us in,” Roxanne stared at him pleading.

James stuffed his hands in his pockets and stared at the ground. “I’m fine, there’s nothing to be sorry about-“

“You’re not fine!” Molly snapped.

James stared at her shock.

“You are not fine James and truthfully? I don’t think you ever were,” Molly said, “and you just keep pretending that you are. You let kids at school be so, so terrible to you,” Molly sniffed slightly, “you let us be terrible to you. James, barely any of us even know you. The real you. James you aren’t okay and I can’t ignore that anymore. I won’t ignore it.”

James let out a bitter laugh, “Don’t you get it? There’s nothing to ignore because I’m fine! I’m James Sirius Potter! The first born of Ginny Weasley and Harry Potter! I’m the spoiled rich kid that gets everything handed to him because of who his family is, I’m fine.”

James spread his arms wide and gave them all a grin, “I’m fine!”

Molly shook her head sadly, “Oh, James,” she whispered before she hugged him tightly.

James let his hands hang at his sides as she hugged him. The others came towards them hesitantly before hugging him as well.

James stared past their heads and up at the sky dully, he was fine. Why couldn’t they understand that?

“We’ll fix this,” Teddy whispered, “I promise you.”

The funny thing was, James didn’t believe him. There was nothing to fix. Even if his family didn’t know the real him, even if he sometimes feels like he’s drowning. Even if James feels like there’s no one he can ever trust with his true self except for Adam.

It was fine. He was fine.

Right?

As the group continued to hug each other for another few minutes no one saw a boy shrink away in the shadows and turn around. No one saw Albus Potter walk back into the house with his head bowed down.

Scorose - First Next-Gen ship I shipped(?) Scorpius is of my top 3 favourite characters and I love him with a Rose that is her own person (and not a clone of Hermione, as much as I love her too). I used to love me some good ol' Enemies to Lovers, nowadays I mostly appreciate their witty dialogue and very interesting dynamics (GraeLiars fanfics are my everything).

Scorlily - I'm not even sorry ok? I like these two as besties or drinking buddies(?) But I can easily get behind some sexy stuff (not necessarily romantic). I picture them as two sides of the same Slythetin coin(?) Lily, determined, driven and reckless, and Scorpius, cunning, resourceful and calculating (mind you: not willing to die for a prank like Lily).

JamesSiriusxAliceII - I know Alice Longbottom II is only like a fandom OC but I just can't resist how utterly cute they are! I love them in every dynamic, I love the idea of them(?) There is so little about them, they just live rent-free in my head and graciously haunt my dreams every night(?) I'd make a whole post about why these two are perfect and deserve all the feels!

Scorbus - Anything that involves my baby Scorpius I'm in(?) I don't even need to explain this, do I?

LilyxLysander - Another very underrated couple that I absolutely love! Lily being so chaotic and Lys so sweet and patient and they complement each other so well it's just beautiful! Not enough fanfic for all the times they've hijacked my daydreaming(?)

TeddyxJames - These's just something about Teddy Lupin and James Sirius idk, they're both my boyfriends and I love them together! Growing up together must be one of my most beloved tropes in romance(?)
