A female falcon was equipped with a satellite tracking system in South Africa before migrating to Finland. Image shows tracker data. In just 42 days, she flew over 10.000 km, at an incredible average of 230 km per day and nearly in a straight line.

The Shortie flipped upside down and opened his talons to protect himself. Photo taken at Shillapoo Lake, Vancouver, Washington.

I would be surprised to see a modern top 10 games of all time list, even from a PC focused outlet, have any flight games. CGW's list from 1996 has 3 (Red Baron, Wing Commander, and Falcon 3.0).
It's interesting to see how some genres fall out of favor over time. (Pages from Computer Gaming World #148, Nov. 1996)
