i am in desperate need of a "childhood friend!reader" with Dazai (pref. m!reader), where they know his trauma n stuff and take care of him where he falls short (self hygiene in general). so they like take care of him after oda does n he leaves the Mafia, giving him a bath, washing his hair, changing his bandages, etc. and a bunch of unspoken words (with a couple of kisses? 👀)

Dazai X gender-neutral Reader

Fluff, little kisses and an overall bad-to-good feel.

“D.A.Z.A.I.!” your voice louder than a human at this point , anger boiling you shouted his name only to meet with him running out of the bathroom holding a towel to his waist all wet and bubbly with soap “WHAT !” his voice laced with worry.

You hold out the empty bottles and trun pointing at the 12 bottles on the floor “it has been 2 days since i left you alone “ you took a deep breath seeing his all smiley “Please.. Dont drink so much “ you said and turned to clean his mess while he went back to at least wash the soap off him .

Coming out he sat down on the couch as per your hand gestures and waited like a puppy with a towel while you settled on the couch and dried his head “Why do you drink so much ?” your voice calmer and softer.

Shrugging his shoulders he said nothing “Fine now after i am done with your hair, the files Kunikida asked me to finish up “ he said getting up. Dazai who was quiet till now spoke “ what will you do i went back to Port Mafia “ hsi voice was low but you heard it .

You feet stopped moving you turned looking like a ghost “ no.. why would you ever ..” you started “ oh ..wait does the direct-” “ no like I go back “ he said this time looking straight at your eyes which were filled with horror.

Dazai knew what you went through and you knew what he went through, you were each other's saviours and only campion “ no” you said sternly and walked up to him. Hand holding his chin up firmly “ no never if you go back I am coming “.

The dry-bandaged man looked at you with wide eyes, even if he did not express many emotions you could read him like a book, and you knew he wanted to cry “I will never let you back into that hell hole alone that's it“ you said kissing his lips and walking back to do your chores “oh I dropped the files on the bed finish them “.

Dazai just sat head hung low, feeding him, bathing him, cleaning him or nursing him, loving him and caring for him. He did have one person who did all that “ sleep let me read you something “ you would say pushing the injured man on the bed while he thought about how lucky and blessed he was to have someone like this again.

Every time you fuss about him getting hurt or every time you complain how his bath routine is shit “ Is miss him yet i feel fine … is it wrong “ his mind thought making him break into tears. Dazai made sure never to cry in front fo you, he did not want you worrying more but he felt he did not deserve this .

As his mind was thinking all “ unwanted stuff “ which is what you always said about his thoughts you suddenly held his chin up and crashed your lips. This time it was not a peck but a full-fledged kiss as you dug your tongue in Dazai joined holding your neck and pulling you onto his lap “Go. Do.your.work “ you said breaking from the kiss and flicking his forehead.

Smiling Dazai nuzzled against your neck “ Thanks Oda i know how to respond to love, I will try my best to stay on the good side “

At first, Ethan hated you, and you hated him. You were related to Gale Weathers and Dewey Riley. The same very people who tried to stop Richie and Amber from their genus plans, and managed to do so.

Dewey tried to help, and he died. Deserved, is what Ethan would like to think, but Gale, Gale was much harder to shake. A fighter, per-say. She was the one to hold Amber at gunpoint and set her on fire.

Sam Crap-enter, and Tara Carpenter. Oh, how much he hated Sam for slitting Richie's throat. Tara? She wasn't as bad, but still bad.

You? Hated you for your parents, but was all...he couldn't find any other reasons to hate you. You were just...perfect? Kind, funny, smart. All of the above. It infuriated him. God, he couldn't stand to see your perfect face, the same face that made his heart jump up and down, cheeks flushed an words caught in his throat.

Why did you hate him? Well...you happened to catch him talking to Quinn, about Richie being their brother. The same Richie that attacked your friends, parents, and you. Although, you didn't stay long enough to hear them talk about some...Ghostface matters.

But just like Ethan, you grown warm, nice, but overwhelming feelings for you. The shy, dorky, fun, funny, kind, nerd. You two always hung out, despite hating each other. It went from distant, to practically sharing food with the same forks!

The more closer and comfortable you two got, the more you both realized what the feelings you held for each other were. Now, it did infact make it more difficult to not give out any weird signs to each other.

Quinn hated the way her brother swooned for you. You were their next victim, not Ethans next lover. She'd always slap the back of Ethans head when he day dreamed about you. "Ow! goddamit...the hell is your problem Quinn?" Quinn sighed. "Stop thinking about your love duck and focus on the plan!" Ethan rolled his eyes.

You were the first to confess. You were drunk at the Halloween party and Ethan? Somewhat sober.

You hugged him. "Hes really cute, and handsome. Hes so nice to me. I like him a lot. I want him to be my boyfriend!" Ethans eyes widened and he stared at you in shock. "What...? "

You put your index finger on Ethans lips. "But shhh! Dont tell him. I dont know if he likes me back..." You murmured sadly. He gently smiled. "Tell you what, Im a friend of Ethans...and and he tells me how much he likes you. How pretty/handsome you are, funny, kind..." You blushed and averted your eyes away from his.

"Guess what?" You looked back at him. "What?" You spoke quietly. "Im the Ethan you're talking about..." A smirk played his lips. "What? No way!" You softly hit his chest. "Yes way!" You replayed in your mind about what he said. "Does...does that mean you like me too?" He nodded. "Want you to be my lover..." He sighed into you and placed his chin on your head.

It’s going pretty decently. This week has been rough, but finding out the Tinlightenment Kickstarter met its goal has definitely made it better, and so has this ask :)). That’s a groovy policy btw, have fun with that.

Now, I don’t think you understand the opportunity you’ve given me with this ask because I adore talking about the music I listen to. (Also you joke about Virginity Rocks, but I have had that song, along with Axe Man, on repeat for the past week).

Answer below the cut bc this is a long one vvv

Alright, get ready for a whole breakdown on what I listen to because I make the rules and I say I get to talk about music as much as I want. Ok, so I really go through phases with what I’m listening to. Overall genres though are like- Heavy metal, rock, indie rock, indie, folk, folk punk, and pop punk. I’d say a big portion of it goes to indie rock and folk though (at least- right now).

My favorite bands and artists though- that’ll have to be like The Backseat Lovers, Ricky Montgomery, Slaughter Beach, Dog (<- Those two are one band name), and Noah Kahan. But then I am also a big Crane Wives, Hozier, and Peach Pit fan. That’s all the more chill side of the music I listen to though.

On the opposite end of this spectrum, we’ve got bands like Ice Nine Kills and Nothing More. (Ice Nine Kills is such a cool band btw, they do horror metal where they have albums where each song is based on a different horror movie, and it’s so good. If you like metal at all I would totally check them out). And then also there’s Waterparks, and Set it Off, and I Don’t Know How But They Found Me, and MCR, and The Wrecks, and Glass Animals. (Haha that was a polysyndeton, thanks AP Lang!) Oh! And Friday Pilots Club!

Specific songs at the moment though? Black Fins by Right Montgomery for sure, that song's so sad but by god is it a banger. Current favorites are also Monster by Slaughter Beach, Dog, and Snowbank Blues by The Backseat Lovers. Just great songs all around.

But yeah like I said- I could on for hours about music. Please listen to any of these bands if you feel so inclined, and let me know if you like 'em! I love finding people who have similar music tastes as me! Plus also- I’m hella curious about the overlap of specific music genres within the Starcanwrecked fandoms. But that’s a separate post, I believe.

Happy Birthday Newt!

@dont-offend-the-bees A combination of you telling me that anything cute and Valicey would do as a birthday fic and me knowing that you are still into Saw as a fandom led to this -- Victor and Alice reacting to the first Saw movie, inspired by a couple of posts I saw on your blog before you moved all the Sawposting to The Secret Saw Sideblog! Though the fic is technically Valicer out of necessity, because the only way I could think of to get the pair to watch it was to have it be a Halloween Movie Nights pick by Smiler's friend Thirteen, as per this headcanon post...

“That is unfair!”

“What’s unfair?” Thirteen asked, looking over at Alice.

“The ending!” Alice said, waving at the slowly-rolling credits on the screen before them. “All Jigsaw said to Adam was that he had to survive until six o’clock, correct? Nothing else? No other secret catches?”

“Don’t ask me,” Victor muttered, hands over his face. “I am actively trying to erase this movie from my mind.”

“There there,” Smiler said, rubbing his back comfortingly. “You’ll be fine – and yeah, ‘survive until six’ was the gist of it,” they added to Alice.

“Well, six o’clock rolled around, and Adam was still alive!” Alice pointed out, stabbing another finger at the TV. “He was wounded, sure, but he was still very much fucking alive! Which means he succeeded! Lawrence was the one who failed in his goal! And yet Lawrence’s the one who gets to crawl off and seek help while Adam gets electrocuted and sentenced to – I guess starving to death in that horrible bathroom? All because he, unsurprisingly, didn’t notice a damn key in his bathtub when he first woke up?”

“You are assuming a lot in thinking Lawrence survived after–” Victor swallowed and shuddered. “After c-cutting off his own f-f-foot.”

“Actually, uh, it’s canon Lawrence survives,” Oblivion put in, sporting a slightly sheepish grin. “He shows up again in Saw 3D.”

“Oh great – when do we watch that one?”

“Don’t worry, we don’t have time for tonight,” Thirteen informed him with a cheeky smirk.

“What, because it’s long?”

“No, because it’s film number seven.”

That finally got Victor to look up. “It’s – wait, what?”

“Yeah, for some reason they decided to name it after the 3D gimmick instead of following the numbering system,” Rita explained, leaning around her girlfriend. “And then films eight and nine are Jigsaw and Spiral respectively, though Spiral’s actually more like a spin-off of the main series–”

“Can I please fully express my annoyance over the fact that Jigsaw killed Adam despite him winning his ‘game’ before we start talking about how this series screwed up its numbering system over halfway through?” Alice cut in, folding her arms and scowling.

“Well, the thing you have to understand about Jigsaw is – he’s a total asshole,” Thirteen reminded her. “He says that his games are to help ‘rehabilitate’ people and make them appreciate life and all that bullshit, sure, but honestly, I believe the dude just wants to torture as many people as he can, both before and after he bites it.”

“I can believe that,” Victor muttered, shivering. Smiler put a comforting arm around him. “And this is probably the least bloody of all the movies, isn’t it?”

“I haven’t seen them all, but I’m pretty sure it is, yes,” Galactica confirmed, giving him a sympathetic look from the other side of Oblivion. “You know, you could have left if you weren’t enjoying it – we wouldn’t have thought any less of you for it.”

“Yeah, I’m shocked you actually sat through the whole thing,” Smiler admitted, giving him a little squeeze.

“I am too, honestly,” Alice said, wrapping her arm around him to do the same. “I’m used to horrors like these – hell, the bathroom looked kind of like one I saw in Rutledge – but I know it’s not your cup of tea.”

“I thought it would be too rude to just get up and leave,” Victor groaned, putting his face in his hands again. “And I kept telling myself, ‘it’s the very first one, it can’t be that bad...’”

“We won’t make you watch any of the others,” Thirteen promised, patting his knee. “I mean, I appreciate you making the effort, but despite appearances, I don’t want you to have nightmares.”

“Thanks.” Victor shook his head. “I know you love that sort of thing, but – it’s just not for me.”

“Me either – especially if John Kramer can’t practice what he preaches,” Alice agreed, glaring at the screen as the DVD menu came up again.

“It’s actually not my favorite series either, if I’m honest,” Thirteen confessed. “I just like this one because of all the hot gay tension between Lawrence and Adam.”

“...there was a surprising amount of that,” Victor allowed.

“Mmm – though given Lawrence is married, he’d better start talking to his wife about either opening the relationship or getting a divorce before he hobbles his way back to that bathroom,” Alice declared.

“You know, I bet there’s a fic like that somewhere on AO3,” Smiler said, pulling out their phone. “Who wants to find a nice domestic AU to help us all decompress?”

ok so. the thing is for the mmain fic? i dont know how he will. fit in. like i have timeloop related ideas which i. need to do eventually. but generally speaking i dont know how to give him a good ending or even how he’ll effect the plot. but also i dont want to ignore him because he is very vital to the plot. honestly i might do a flowey for this in that he interacts sparsely, more to the end of the game. thanks toby fox

BUT ANYWAYS to me ganon really isnt. a twist per say? like with link im making his death be different and the reader is going to have to find out what happened (or immediately Know based on the tags and such and instead of finding out their horror??? only grows i hope because they basically have to watch a guy who they know something bad will happen to. like siffrin in stars and time when you’ve played sasasa). but for ganon his deal is basically almost canon except im highlighting how fucked up it is i guess. we already know hes under the castle, but the devs never expand his motives. so im trying to do that

so. spoilers?? i guess??? also its pure stream of consciousness be warned

ok so firstly totks whole Pre Hyrule thing doesnt exist here. im not doing that. the zonai are non-gods who literally just sailed into the country and happen to know magic. they also dont make the same type of ruins associated with the zonai in totk. their ruins match up much more with the ruins in faron and the animal-esque designs. also theyre extremely vague and none of them become the king. i can draw you some zonais if youd like but the whole zonai thing in totk makes zero sense especially with botw and theres actual contradictory information in this essay i w

because of this rauru and sonia Might exist, but they will be Extremely Different. im not making rauru a zonai if he does exist too, though mineru still might be one just. heavily redesigned. so theres no power struggle to lead to ganondorfs imprisonment- something else is the cause of that.

as to what? i have no idea yet </3. itd probably be similar to the exile of the shekiah when the helped with the calamity, ganon being seen as a threat and something to be exterminated. ganon may not have helped or interacted with the monarchy, but it didnt change what the king and queen viewed of him. though i dont think any prior games or legends “influenced” this- as in they didnt follow any prophecy or something, but they basically ingrained the roles of the past into being completely static if that makes sense. zelda is always the pretty princess with wisdom and powers of the goddess (and hylian), link is always the hero always with the master sword and courage (also always hylian), and ganon? always the oppressor. always the king of evil, king of the gerudo. always a threat. in the same ways these roles hurt zelda and link pre cal, these roles ESPECIALLY hurt ganon, just this time more directly. its almost like how certain laws target marginalized groups and by proxy accidentally hurt literally everyone else. but he was just a “threat to hylia” in some way or form, either due to something or just by existing. or both. but an incident probably lead to his imprisonment. all things considered i should. really work on this..? though thats complicated because if the shekiah just noticed the pattern of the calamity then people would have to deal with two separate events rather than just one, which could work but the “inciting incident” of the 10000 year calamity being beaten is almost null and passed on to another. at that point i might as well do what ive seen other fanfics do before totk came out and wrote about the zonai- grouping them together in the same time period and make the sealing of ganon himself as the person the 10000 year sealing of the calamity. however that wouldnt make sense with the tapestry…unless the tapestry isnt accurate to what happened which Is possible but still why go through all the effort to lie about becoming his calamity form? showing him as not human would fit with how they view him but still they couldve made him look like a monster- like a lynel or his pig forms, not a boar like cloud. so. i almost want to ignore his backstory entirely and only focus on him being well. trapped. i just dont know if this is the right move to make, as much as being trapped under the castle Is a backstory its not really a fleshed out one or one that shows his past connections or who he was as a person. though that does kind of fit with what he is now. uhm so yeah i have no idea im sorry

but to his. not-really-a-backstory backstory. like in totk, hes under the castle. everybody has forgotten this, the rulers being warned about.. Something under the castle, and to not speak of it like zelda says in the intro to totk. theres a locked gate, maybe with some stolen shekiah tech (used by the king/someone when the shekiah were exiled and hunted, getting scrap parts before they were buried) to secure it. or maybe they just like about it being protected by the goddess so no one can open it and because its such an easy lie to check everybody believes it. though i genuinely think its locked extremely well, either with past magic, the triforce when a past zelda or queen had it and sealing ganon was sealing the gate as well, sheikah tech, or something else. i say that because at some point youd think the yiga would literally just walk in if it was a lie. the shekiah tech is a bit dicey because the yiga probably know way more about it than the shekiah (except for purah and robbie), however. i was going to argue they might not actually know that much about the tech which while it would depend on yiga to yiga i feel on some level they could absolutely break into it. (i used to think it was a parallel to botws general amnesia, forgetting their goal of originally helping hyrule, but after reading gboh the possibility of them changing it over time actively is probably a lot better, especially with it adding agency and also them being Rightfully Angry at the monarchy and eliminating those who stand as its biggest supporters? or pawns. and rereading the wiki page for them i cant remember how i thought they “forgot” their goal. ok sorry!! honestly i like to think some sheikah and yiga before being truly separate still made tech in secret, either to prevent something in the future or to help themselves (the sheikah being ok in the rain because of the tech in their outfits.) kind of like a third group that eventually faded out due to amnesia or became a yiga and Remembered. ok anyways) but yeah. on one hand Itd Fit and be such a slap in the face to the sheikah in general, but also the yiga should and probably would know how to break it down. that is if they even know the door exists, and the only reason they dont break into it is because they dont know It Exists because it wasnt built by them and ganon isnt able to communicate with them, or at least communicate with them well. in that scenario they could and Would be able to break down those protections which would actually make sense.

ALRIGHT. under the castle isnt the same as totks under the castle, and while it might…??? be the same one in the Trailer, that would require the zonai which, while they have their own mysterious plotline here (they magiced so hard they ended up in the sky), and theyre absolutely Important, i dont know how important they were in ganons sealing specifically. i like the zonai having some secret involvement of it and i also like having more zonai ruins, but i dont think the royal family would tolerate them At All because theyd also be a threat like the sheikah. they built literal labyrinths and actually know about the triforce more explicitly (the sheikah also seem to, or the ancient sheikah). them casting themselves off into the sky makes sense because who else could do that, But Yeah. theyd have their own documented versions of what they did, and i like to think they were fairly involved in hyrule as a whole. anyways sorry i just need to come up with how he was sealed and how it makes sense. god i used to have hopes and dreams about totk. we couldve gotten a new major god. and yet,

OK ONTO THE ACTUAL. PERSON IN THIS. GANON IM SO SORRY. yeah lets just say hes only Mildly Pissed about being under the castle for 10000 years (<- any words i could use now can not describe the sheer anger and hatred he has. like. its like genuinely wanting to kill someone if that makes sense. besides that being half the literal case, its . ok so you know how in totk the hands let out a shrill scream when they spot you, rushing over to kill you and choke you without thinking? its like that. wanting to make others feel the pain he felt for years and years, with an added touch of genuine hate and wanting to Hurt Someone or see them get hurt). hes being forgotten by everyone- his people the hylians, the shekiah, either people who he used to love or people who actively helped and encouraged his imprisonment, it doesnt matter when they all forget and dont even seem to care. its like he never mattered in the first place, what happened to him just something inconsequential and might as well not exist at all. He might as well not exist at all. but hes awake, rotting and tearing apart down at the bottom of that chamber always awake and always there. he cant move on yet, he needs to get out he needs to get out he has to get out

so!! his main focus is escape!! anyone who dies either had to or isnt something he thinks about. something something a means to an end, if people die so be it. plus if hes going down hea bringing hyrule with him, clawing onto it. he isnt mindless, guardians trying to ravish important locations like the temple of time and the akkala citadel, tactical locations. the malice is more of a by product of the original 100 year calamity, but it serves to help ganon keep and Eye out haha but also block and cover things. i like to think theres malice in guardians and thats why the master sword reacts to them. anyways, in botw he has a butterfly esque cacoon, and a spider like body made of sheikah tech. he was probably building a New Body as his means of escaping. why he made it like that? no idea. he definitely wouldnt live a quiet life once he was out and i think its an accidental by product of wanting to kill people/punish them in a sense. maybe he was going to have two bodies, like mettaton EX where the box body would be in this sense ganondorfs “normal” form where his spider form would be his Kill form.

if he wanted to be king of hyrule, this would probably be why. i dont really think he would, but if he did he’d do it both to punish those who wronged him while making sure what happened to him wont happen again, making sure the hylian royal family is never in a seat of power again. but right now he wants people to pay.

this also ties into him being “a calamity”; as hes trapped under the earth, i think he’d have an effect over it as well. trying to claw his way out from under the earth, parting the dirt in which it looks as if its breathing, sand piling over making sounds described as screams (though in real life its described as singing). in a way hes a part of it, but not by choice. hes the very thing you stand on and yet hes dismissed.

but anyways. hes very mad. link would describe him as “actively wanting me dead” in the timeloop au. his blights are described as screaming in the fic and i like to think thats ganon screaming in rage, pain or both. hes also not green here i should mention that. his form down in the dungeon i like to think has ghouls protruding from it like theyre melting into one and other and are reaching out with their hands, grabbing at whatever they can. hes pretty chill but smug post imprisonment, mostly a quiet cocky. less one for dramatics and rather plays it straight. likes pink and also is a fan of the desert right under spectacle rock. in the timeloop au hes also in the timeloop with link which causes problems. speaking of theyre pretty alike, and wreath would be like him in the timeloop au if he didnt already exist like percy jackson and luke. they could be friends in theory, but their circumstances drove them apart (hey like the wind waker post). hes a big fan of water buffalos, bulls, goats, cats and dogs, and sand sparrows. sand sparrows are his favorite animal in general and almost made it a symbol of the gerudo. id like to associate him with moths thanks to queen gibdo (shes not in this au she doesnt exist here). might actually like spiders as well as other insects. kotake and koume exist here :] . i think some of the gerudo havent forgotten, and thats why the hylia statue is way less in use, though it still being there is an act from the gerudo from the present ish. he likes soft and airy clothes. a lot more regal in the presence of leaders of their respective races- like the king or queen of the zora, the king and queen of the hylians, etc. likes hearty soup but also straight voltfruit juice. doesnt like hydromelons. he and zelda would hate each other, zelda Especially and their anger at each other almost cancels each other out. zelda is Very mad at him. chronic pajama wearer, gets a gerudo clothes person to make regal clothes with the same fabric from pajama clothes. sometimes he sleeps in them but other times he doesnt. big fan of the concept of magic, and likes chuchu jelly a lot. hes more prominent in the timeloop au honestly and im sorry for that. id like to give him an actual arc but well. i dont know how i would do that…….. also i want him to have a happy ending for once but i dont know if thatd work with this story. especially because of him killing the champions. him being an omen would be fitting, but still. him being punished narratively for no reason is stupid if that makes sense. his reason for doing what he did wasnt bad, but what he did by proxy was. i dunno death doesnt feel right for him, at least yet. he was happy though, once

Interesting I definitely want to delve into the special interests and video games/horror stuff but I think I want to start first with the outside stuff to what envelops your life. You mentioned walking & nature. Are u a smoke some weed and catch that sunset kinda gal cause yo those sets hit hard each fucking day. And also are there specific crafts that you wish you were able to devote more time to. And also also what about fashion (I found you cause of that fucking aborable cat/puppy ear pic), do you enjoy different styles and trends and experimenting with that kinda stuff? Also also also just to mix it up a bit, do you have like a philosophy or way of life that you try and adhere to or do you just roll with the punches?

i promise its not a wise idea to get me started on anything i know a lot of useless info on i'll just embarrass myself. but i just like being outside and doing things outside. i'm a summer baby so thats my ideal weather. im lucky that i have a lot of trails and woods around me so im able to be in nature quite a lot. i absolutely hate being cold (i have a heating pad on my lap right now and it's nearly 70°F). but i definitely do love just looking at the sky no smoking needed. i really love sunrises and sunsets but where im at we dont really get good visions of either which sucks but i have a friend on the west coast that sends me pictures of the prettiest sunsets so i still get to see them sometimes. i have a diamond painting of tomie that i've been trying to finish since december i just never have time to sit down and dedicate the proper time i want to. i only have a third of it left though so i could probably get it done in a night if i could just focus enough on it. as far as fashion goes im aware of trends and i might incorporate something small im drawn to into my outfits but im not really big on trend hopping. everyone just kinda looks the same when everyone is following the same trends and its so expensive to keep with...honestly i just dont really care all that much. i dont even know what you would classify my style as honestly. i have my inspirations and thats about it. i just wear things i like i dont really try to fit into anything specifically which is probably the most lame answer ever but im a pretty lame person. i mean i dont think i really have a philosophy per say i just try to be as kind as humanly possible but i think thats just the bare minimun that we should do as humans

Hello 👋 its the anon who doesn't like angst. Apologies if my ramblings came off as a bit preachy, per say. I do understand ur explanation tho and u do have some very good points. I guess its fair to say that I don't like angst unless there's a point to it. That's not to say that there has to be a point to EVERYTHING written/drawn for the sake of art but that's just me. I'm a bit picky like that lol 😆 I like a lot of gore and horror stuff but angst in the context of the Fandom is usually portrayed "drama" if that makes sense? Your story is a little more grounded, not in reality obviously but grounded in a way that I can see my own life as well as the life of many others played through these characters. But obviously this is all in good fun, people are allowed to do what they want and really shouldn't be listening to the ramblings of a stranger on the internet 😅 Apologies for going off again.

oh yeah i totally get it. it didn't come off as preachy at all i just have a habit of rambling and i think the internet has trained me to try to qualify things a bunch just in case, hah.

and if no one listened to rambling of internet strangers i would make making turtles to a VOID, so i really dont mind :)

The last chapter of ticking springs has been tormenting me cuz i didnt know how i wanted to appraoch it

i so very much wanna turn it- into horror into pure ick, something that just you would kindly refuse when offered, no thank you i dont wanna babysit your messed up version of a son geppetto who looks like an replica of my dead cousin

it would be done in two parts per say. the first where things are fine in the beginning but slowly become awry and then the second part, where the horror blooms and the puppet frenzy takes over

at first i wanted the doll to malfunction slightly and spit out an recording of 'girls are stupid' which would lead to him prattling about carlo in more and more uncomfortable ways, talking about him as if he was still alive and the reader would be like uh uncle??? confirming her suspicions that geppetto is going mad and cannot be trusted

but ultimately i decided to have him realize her potential and kindly ask her to finish his work for him. you do love Carlo, don't you?

i wanna write more and begin part 2 but brain is so empty rn

ALSO i just forgor that I am planning on posting my fic on my quotev too since i do like it. It can be read better as a 'book' compared to my twst and vinland saga posts.

this got so long i actually had to put a read more:

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

artagan - it isnt media per say but i really want to set him loose in our own reality and see what he'd do (there have been some hints i think, if half-jokingly said, that hes been here - boy do i think about that often.)

ira - we really should just let him star in his own horror movie. you could put him in a guillermo del toro film, and no one would bat an eye.

ludinus - i want to see how lud would react to faerun. a world so close to his own, but where the weave of magic is directly controlled by a god. there is an odd dichotomy in that faerun is more controlled than exandria and yet breaking that universe's laws are infinitely easier, and i think he would fall into obsession with that.

5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?

so.... im gonna (un)ashamedly plug my playlists for them here.... please ignore that they can go as long as twelve fucking hours.... ill try to narrow down specific songs that REALLY hit about them, though.

artagan - "within you" by david bowie, from labyrinth, is a perfect fit. not only is arti based on jareth but the song's meaning directly ties into him & jester. jareth is terrified of being nothing more than a lost concept, a lost celebrity crush made fae king, as sarah is metaphorically maturing. "how you turn my world, you precious thing/You starve and near exhaust me/Everything I've done, I've done for you/I move the stars for no one..." i mean, c'mon. "family of me" by ben folds, "celebrity status" by mariana's trench, "lapis lazuli" by the oh hellos, and "due west" by kelsey lu also really hit as arti songs for me.

ira - "mad iqs" by i dont know how but they found me is a really good song for ira's hatred of ludinus. "a mask of my own face" by lemon demon is self explanatory and far too specific, due to his fascination with ashton's mask of him, with the song mentioning "dancing with all the bells". he would go wild for and try to emulate "thriller" by michael jackson or "i cant decide" by the scissor sisters.

ludinus - if i did a speedpaint of lud, id set it to "science fiction" by church of the cosmic skull. "and all the people, they stood on their chairs, and they stared, at the man with the silver hair/taken the findings of the science man/raising his hands to the air!/so he's making the minds up of the millions, and they'd never deny that he's right/cause he's taken a prize of many a size/if ever he dies he'll have a tombstone of a very high height". "brutus" by the buttress is ABSOLUTELY a ruby vanguard trio song and i even used it in my art of them before. "all history is vengeance" by brad derrick from the eso soundtrack is what goes through my head at the malleus key. "blood upon the snow" by hozier & "never look away" by vienna teng also really work for him. i think "survivors guilt" by emily axford (yeah, prism) also has lyrics FAR too tailored to him - "i see you in my dreams/young, and brave, and pre-calamity/i will tell you a story/i will be the voice you lost too soon/because even in your absence, even in your death/im still your moon".

24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them?

(i wouldnt say im in the fandoms for all of these, but)

artagan - i think it somewhat obvious he's based off of jareth in labyrinth - his voice is basically david bowie's singing voice. to a lesser but still strong degree he's very much marvel's loki, down to the voice - if, honestly, an infinitely better take on the trickster god. as a past extreme loki fan the pipeline is there for sure.

ira - ashley said she & matt based fearne's story off a guillermo del toro film and i can see that in many fae this go-round, especially ira. he is basically a doug jones character. it's very easy to compare him to creepypastas like the russian sleep experiment or slenderman, too.

ludinus - he has some heavy similarities to emperor belos of owl house, vyrthur of tes, prince nuada from hellboy, and other characters who fit the archetype of a white-haired, ancient, pale elven (or elven passing) man, from a different time, who murders & (in some cases) colonizes to exact vengeance on gods, humans, or similar entities he feels have destroyed those around him. characters clearly in the wrong but who do bring up important topics of the endless cycle of brutality they were caught in, mixed with their privelege in every other circumstance. he also reminds me of mannimarco of tes. they look exactly alike and both shadow run an empire, somewhat in cahoots and yet at odds with a balding white haired pale human man within that same empire. oh! and fëanor from the silmarillion.

Some thoughts on 0080 (Spoilers)

(As per usual, this whole thing is just a huge ramble that may or may not be coherent so I apologize for that in advance)

I dont usually run into media that hits me like a brick.

Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket is a heartbreaking story that brilliantly utilizes the concept of the "one year war", established in the main series, to truly bring a tale that perfectly complements the values of Gundam with an amazing critique on war.

Where do I begin...

It all takes place in a small neutral colony (A colony is like a small city earth in space). It’s a beautiful place.

0080 is a beautiful series to look at, the colors are so vibrant, the animation is great, the retro-future look everything has is a treat to the eyes.

It’s a normal town with normal people living their daily lives.

The main PoV in the whole OVA is that of an elementary school kid, Alfred Izuruha

and this is the thing that makes 0080 unique from all the other side stories

In making the main PoV that of a childs instead of a soldiers, we get to see how war has influenced the youth in this colony and how Al reacts to the reality of war.

The way "War in the Pocket" critiques the indoctrination of children into war is amazing and leaves you disturbed at the sight of a whole elementary school exited for a possible next war after witnessing the horrors of this one.

The pacing of the whole thing is a bit slow but it’s the good kind of slow. It sets up everything, the world, the characters, the factions and their roles in this story, the relations between some characters.

It builds everything slowly and then it shows you how it destroys it.

Seeing this lovely world with a dark side introduced in the first three episodes ONLY FOR THE LATER 3 TO HAPPEN... GOD...

(Start of Spoilers)

Seeing Bernie slowly treat Al like a younger brother and grow fond of him is so sweet.

Bernie and Chris being cool around each other.

The Zeon team hanging out, they are not good people but they all feel like drinking friends

they deserve a better life than fighting for the war.

Alot of time is spent with the characters, its a very personal story.

I apreciate the restraint on action on the entire thing.

Every time there is action, something horrible happens.

Heres some thoughts I had in the middle of watching the final few episodes

-I fear -What will happen -Yknow -I have seen some of UC before -But the fear that comes every time a MS is brought up here -Every time... every time something horrible happens

My thoughts haven't changed.

The action is brutal.

Everything is brutal.

and after those peaceful days... everything happens.

The wipeout of the Zeon team

Bernie's resolve to fight for the colony, to protect for Al's home from the nuclear threat... ONLY FOR THAT THREAT TO BE TAKEN CARE OF OFF SCREEN.

The heartbreak of seeing this young guy throw himself to death for no reason anymore.

Seeing Bernie's recording that scene... it’s everything 0080 stands for

"Don't hate the Gundam pilot and don’t go hating the feddie soldiers because they are like us, you and me. They are just people simply doing what they think is right, that’s all. I know that it’s hard but try not to hate them".

Everything ending with the dramatic irony of Bernie asking Al to say hi to Chris and Chris asking Al to say goodbye to Bernie.

and back at the elementary, hearing some of the most chilling words ive ever heard at the end of a show.

"Al don't cry, cmon! You know another war will start soon and when they close the school we'll be able to check out all the cool stuff! it'll be more than this time!"

It hurts.

I will never forget this. what a cruel way to get back into gundam.

So I saw your tags and I need to know what what songs you think Corroded Coffin would cover (both in universe and if you feel like it, modern au too)

ohhhhhh my friend you do not know what you are about to unleash but for your sake I will limit myself.

First off though!!! I've said it before but i'll say it again, I firmly believe in my blood and bones that corroded coffin have a stack of off the wall covers. they only do one per set and its not every set they do them in so people try to make it to every show because the alternative covers become iconic.

conventional covers though, I'd love to see them tearing up

no one like you - scorpions or any scorpions song i'm not fussy. it would be jeff's suggestion because he just thinks its a really hot song and the band can't disagree so it gets added

immigrant song - led zepplin there is NO WAY that as a dnd based friend group that they dont absolutely lose it when they play this, the shouting at the start? the riffs? they have it down to an ART

20th century boy - t.rex listen LISTEN I feel very VERY strongly about this being a steddie song and i wont be told otherwise

ballroom blitz - sweet yes this is more pop rock but you cannot tell me that they wouldn't love doing the intro of 'are you ready gareth? yeah eddie. jeff? yeah eddie. grant you ready? sure eddie. well alright fellas. LETS GO!' and they TEAR.IT.UP.

honrable mentions to bonzo goes to bitburg by ramones, new york groove by ace frehley, sweet leaf by black sabbath and talking in your sleep by the romantics.

NOW!!! the OTHER covers oh I am so sorry I get so unhinged about this but

baby i'm burning by dolly parton. i NEED to hear this, I KNOW they'd kill it and the crowd would go wild and god I can feel my insides shaking because I know how good it would be
