The One Strange, Real Thing You Can't Replace

I couldn't find this iconic story's animatic for Ace Combat fandom, so I decided to make one myself. Then I realized, in wise words of another Tumblr user I forgot: "I make Art.txt, not Art.png" But that didn't stop me. Anyway here goes:

Rush hour in the Sky Kid Bar in Expo City. A group of nuggets from New Arrows Air Base gather around their mentor to hear another war story. He was a veteran of many conflicts and a former member of a few ace squadrons, regular and special taskforces. His TAC name was Count.

"Another story I heard about myself, this one happened during another Free Erusea uprising. There was this ace in the enemy air force, whose protégé flew in the enemy air force. His name was Mihaly Dumitru Margareta Corneliu Leopold Blanca Karol Aeon Ignatius Raphael Maria Niketas A. Shilage and his apprentice Yellow 13 was in the enemy squadron. He started flying in the Continental War while I started in the Lighthouse War, so he was 1 war ahead. And Mihaly… was an asshole.

"And one weekend he and his granddaughters decided to leave the air base. Which you should never do if you're an asshole. And Yellow 13 decided to patrol the airspace above their base. Hurray! And everyone in the Joint Assault Peacekeeping Squadron heard about it, and we all got up individually and thought: Okay, let's go over there and destroy the place.

"I entered the AO, everyone I had ever met was there, and everyone was flying like it was a superweapon fight. People were flying like it was the Belkan War and Pixy was coming to cut our wings off with that laser.

"It was totally unsupervised. Long Caster was baking a birthday cake for Eagle Eye and Oka Nieba with Bandog were making Thunderhead loosen up by force. We were like Spare Squadron, we were running wild.

"I descend- I descended to a lower altitude, they had a castle on a hill. Talisman took a Strike Eagle and dropped an SFFS on the castle and leveled it. Trigger packed Avril into his WSO seat, and found out which hangar was Mihaly's and landed and disassembled his Flanker.

"So the operation was going great.

"I'm flying low and I'm doing a cobra, you've seen Top Gun: Maverick, and I'm flying low, and I'm doing a cobra, and I'm starting to black out. And I guess someone said like <<something, something, Gründer>> and in a brilliant moment of word association, I yelled <<Fuck Belkan witchcraft!>>.

"<<Fuck Belkan witchcraft!>>.

"And everyone else joined in. A dozen of G-LOCed pilots, some of them of Belkan descent yelling <<Fuck. Belkan. Witchcraft.>>. With the confidence of guys who have, like, already been to solitary and aren’t afraid of it anymore. You know that like ‘I’ll take whatever the hell action I see fit’ confidence.

“The reason someone had said <<something, something, Gründer>> was because the Z.O.E. drones were there. So Doctor Schroeder went into the enemy command center and looked at the cluster of radar signatures and heard a bunch of pilots yelling <<Fuck Belkan witchcraft!>> on the open comms. And he was almost impressed. He was like <<Enthralling>>.

“And then he switched to their radio frequency and went <<Deploy Nemo>>. And my friend Jaeger, who is a father- This man has a son, he did a PSM, released a cloud of flares and yelled <<Scatter!>>.

“And everyone flew in a different directions, we all flew in different directions. It was like that moment when Eruseans deployed MQ-99s in Scofields Plateau and they all went different ways, we all flew in different directions.

“I followed Trigger along the river, and we entered a valley, and I’m flying through the valley and there’s this narrow highway tunnel, and I thought <<I’ve never flew through a tunnel that small before>> and then I woke up in the hangar.

“On Monday, I went on a mission because that’s what we did back then. And I’m entering the AO and who do I fight, but Yellow 13 and he says to me <<Hey, were you in Shilage on Saturday?>>.

“And I said <<Negative>>, you know, like a con man.

“And he said <<Things got really out of hand. Someone destroyed the castle. Someone took apart Mihaly’s Su-30.>>.

“<<But the worst thing>> he says, <<The worst thing is that someone stole these old Voslage Air Force patches and the Sol Squadron are freaking out about it.>>.

“And I had that thought that only pilots shooting at tents and Full Band can have. Did- Did I do that?

"I figured no, I wouldn't have done that, but I was never sure until, 2 years later- Relax" He said to nuggets going wild.

"I'm doing a BFM exercise with this ace, TAC name Cipher that we also fought along with. 2 years later, 3 new Free Erusea uprisings were over by now. We're practicing basic fighter maneuvers for a while and then Cipher says to me <<Hey, come here. I want to show you something>>.

"We land and he takes me to his hangar, and then he takes me into the back section of his hangar that's closed behind a curtain. Never a good thing to have. He shows me a tiny cork board that is covered in different patches of disbanded squadrons, pillaged from different air bases over the years.

"And I said 'Why?'. 'Why do you do this?'

"And Cipher said 'Because it's the one thing you can't replace".

Obnoxious as hell but without it weed be down so many homoerotically charged interactions. The enemies to lovers people would be quaking

The only objectively good song in The Greatest Showman deserves some respect, god damn it. Also it's a very catchy way to show a character's betrayal/character changes in general.

The song just overall slaps and also it's great for showing characters having a conflict with one trying to convince the other to join the opposing side

its very character driven, so no wonder its very popular. almost every fandom ive been in has an animatic of this song.

You’ve and all of my moots been the exact same thing to me, beams of sunshine that still gave me hope in the fandom and even though we had just suffered a great loss, seeing you guys and the whole fandom being there for each other made me realize how strong this community is and that there will always be hope no matter what goes wrong :3

Tbh, I am just sad now but I don’t think I’m planning on leaving yet. Hiatus probably, but permanently leaving? I don’t know if I can force myself too. As long as there are the creators that I grew to love over this past year, I’ll still stick around. Besides, after Jaiden, Tina became my main (she never logs on though now so that’s why I’ve been just migrating around and watches different POVs) so as long as she’s on, I’m definitely on, and if she leaves, I have some backups, and my two babies were and have always been Chayanne and Empanada, so as long as Empanada is around, I’m not leaving my baby (I’ll talk about Chayanne in a later post but I’m still just processing what’s next 😅). Plus, fed lore and a bunch of other lore has now grabbed me and will never let me go, and I’m still a fan of other streamers and still have animatic ideas I never got around to cause of continuous art block :) All in all, I don’t think I’m going to ever completely leave, this fandom has helped me out through so much and especially my amazing moots like you so until everyone is gone and moved on, I think I’ll stick around from time to time :D

However this sucks that this happened literally 2 days before my one year anniversary of joining the fandom 😭 (in YT though, qsmpblr was in December so that’ll be a different celebration :D)

Again though, thank you so much for the message Rosey, it really made me smile. I think I’ll just watch some funny videos before going to bed and then sleep and hope that I won’t be a crybaby tomorrow at school and that I can process everything and figure out what to do next :D

i think overall there were so many good character interaction scenes and i wish that the development from those happened ages ago. the characters felt very cartoony and stagnant for a while tbh.

this episode did however remind me of how much i love viktor + allison’s relationship istg they need interaction s4 plssss they’re so fucked up but they lvoe each other so much bro

my wishlist for s4 only grows 😔

Ey! I just need to tell you this every once on a while, well, I think about it but I'm a chicken to explain and tell my feelings in general hahaha

I just love following you, since I discovered your account thanks to your Asra and RD comics years ago when I first joined the fandom and I had the biggest fever I ever had with a fictional love interested. Your art and page have been such a meaningful support for me in several aspects. Each time I see you on posts or anywhere it just lights and cheer my day, and even the week hahaha I gotta confess I felt sad asf when you took a hiatus for a year, when you had activity again I just had no words for the happiness I had on that time

RD, Asra (And you too) did such important change and impact to my life that I just can't put it in words, and I'm very grateful for that; even if my heart ended destroyed several times because you made your poor OC suffer so much hahahaha

I would love support you a lot more, as you really deserve it; but for now I will have to hold it back and do whatever I can. You really deserve it, as well happiness, love and peace on your life.

OFMD drabble- On some level I think I always understood

Inspired by @fishfingersandscarves‘s animatic when I watched it for like the twelfth time. Might have a part 2 at some point?

Stede’s breath hitches, the blade is sunk deep in his stomach, the right side, and he’s quite sure that Ed meant to do that. How many times had he been stabbed now? Ed’s face… beautiful, precious face, was rapidly changing from fury to panic. Stede couldn’t have that. He touches his face, hissing when the blade drives a little deeper at the movement. But he wouldn’t let it stop him. He’d rehearsed it so many times, but when he opens his mouth, something entirely different comes spilling out.

“It’s okay… really. On some level I’ve always understood that I was… wrong… That there was something wrong with me.” Stede breathes through the pain. His mouth tastes like copper, that can’t be good. “I never knew quite what it was. But everyone saw it. The other boys in school… My father, My wife, children.. Even the crew. Did I tell you they were going to mutiny and kill me just a few weeks before we met? It doesn’t matter. They could all see it. The Wrong.

The only person that never saw it… Was you, Edward. You looked at me and all you saw was, well me. You saw me and I didn’t annoy or disgust you. You seemed delighted.” A smile spreads across his face. He wipes at tears that are dripping down Ed’s face, smearing the kohl. “No one’s ever…” he coughs a little. “No one’s ever done that for me. If I die like this… don’t worry. You’ve already given me the greatest gift I could ever ask for, just by seeing me. I love you so much, Ed. I’m so sorry… I was so afraid I could spread my Wrongness to you, weigh you down, an anchor… But what a self-centered thought; I couldn’t do that. You’re perfect.” He says fervently. His own tears are falling, hot as the blood spilling from the wound.

He watches as Ed’s face twists, His eyes close tightly for a moment and when they open anger is back, but it’s different. Determined.

“You will live, Stede Bonnet. No one dies on this ship unless I say so.” Ed abruptly lets go of the sword but doesn’t pull it out yet. He puts both hands on Stede’s face, holding on tight. “You selfish fucker. You don’t get to die.” He eases Stede to the deck and Stede is certain he’s never been handled so gently.

“I’ll do my best.” he says, but he can feel consciousness rapidly slipping from his grasp. But then Ed’s hands are still on his face and now shaking him, calling for a surgeon, snarling at someone (Izzy? Stede can’t focus on anything but Ed and the pain) when they try to object.

“You don’t get to leave me again.” Edward insists and there’s something vicious in his voice and Stede deserves that, but it also feels good, to be wanted…

“Well then I promise.” He says and he suddenly brings up his numb hand to try to stem the bloodflow, the other has fallen to Ed’s shoulder. “I like the new look by the way. Very fierce.”

Edward actually laughs, though it looks like it pains him. It’s the most beautiful thing Stede’s ever seen. “You’re insane.” He tells him and then Stede is kissed for the second time in his life by someone he loves. “I’m still pissed at you.”

“That’s fair.” Stede agrees, but he can’t stop smiling.

So, I’ve just come up with an idea for The Owl House Fandom 🧙‍♀️🦉🔮🌟…..

So with the premiere of the 1st part of season 3 of The Owl House quickly approaching (airing way late in my time where I’m from - on a Sunday no less) I figured I propose a suggestion to the fandom… By giving thanks to Dana and the crew for all their hard work, especially on this season!

And while I’m not sure if anybody else has or is going to use this idea before me (I mean it was worth the shot! I feel like just about any fandom would do that), I was thinking about doing some sort of massive fandom big bang; making and creating fanart, animations/animatics, AMV’s/edits etc You name it!

The idea came to mind after lurking around in the Amphibia fandom (I like to check into the fandom every once in a while) then I remembered that since Amphibia ended months ago, the fandom would joke around making tweets about season 4 happening and creating fake promos and fan made episode animations/animatics/storyboards for like a couple of weeks (even creator Matt Braly liked some of the stuff he saw from fans and had to check in with the fandom about it - You had to be there!)

I like to think of this as a tribute to Dana and her crew for giving us the most of season 3 has to offer, and while we’re concerned of how the final season would play out as a 3 part near hour long special, I trust Dana and her team would be able to fill in everything that’s needed, flaws and all.

As a fandom, I think we can all come to an agreement that since Disney decided to be a bunch of assholes for cutting the rest of season 3 and cancelling the show entirely for not “fitting into their brand” (whatever the hell that’s supposed to mean?!) that they’re now officially on - what I like to call - “Massive Corporate Entertainment Company Hit List for Screwing Animation Fans Over” officially considering Disney public enemy No. 1 (but now that spot seems to go over to Warner Brothers/Discovery, after certain recent events - also don’t ask me on the title, I just randomly made that on the fly so it was the first thing that popped into my head - sorry if that sounds cringe 😬)

Which is why I think starting around the day of the premiere for season 3, let’s get the show trending on social media to show tremendous support for the owl crew, cuz lord knows they deserve the love for creating an amazing show after everything they’ve went through with Disney’s higher ups shady ass-hattery that goes on there, the best we can do is support Dana and the team for the hard work, appreciate and make the most of what we have for the final season!

There’s probably a few bits and bobs I felt that are missing (or just the whole idea of some fandom big bang is already somewhat a common thing here and in other fandom spaces IDK) but feel free to share some ideas here! I’d love to see some ideas to shared around this fandom!

Personally, I love seeing fanart, but you know what I wanna see more of? Fan made “episode” animations/animatics/storyboards of season 3, y’know since Disney thought that cutting season 3 was necessary, why not make make some fan made “episodes” to fill in the gaps that would’ve been a full season (especially once the first part is aired and from what I’ve heard we go into a 3 month hiatus until the next part, which oof, I thought the Steven Universe fandom has a rough hiatus, but this 😳) - whether it’s from fan made theories, headcanons or just something that’s canon adjacent - I think it would’ve been really fun and would really mend the hole in the fandom’s heart once the show’s over (honestly I kinda miss the chaotic energy from the fandom when Amphibia ended and I really wanted to have fun with The Owl House, all in good fun!).

I hope this idea sticks to the fandom because I would love for this post to boost up and garner everyone’s interest! Again, if you like this, feel free to share your ideas here!

Also of course, please support the show through legal means through Disney +, or more likely, just pirate the show and give Dana the crew some support and kind messages! Also, don’t share any spoilers/leaks and PLEASE tag them once they’re aired, especially to those that are not in the US!

What a Bit of Kindness Can Do

Hey there! After so long of little-to-no activity from me here, I’ve come back with a new standalone oneshot! It’s not from any of my usual fandoms, and is mostly a passion project on my part, but I really wanted to write it, so here it is!

It’s based on a song called The Ballad of Sara Berry. To make a long story short, the song is about a popular high school girl going insane and killing her rivals to become Prom Queen. If that sounds like a weird thing for an author like me to be writing a fic about, well that’s because it is! But I’ve absolutely adored the song ever since I first heard it a few days ago, and I thought I’d do my best to give Sara (and everyone else) the happy ending I feel they deserve.

Be warned though, that there is blood, violence, murder, and mental instability in the song, and this video’s animatic shows that even if it’s not really all that explicit, so if any of that bothers you you might want to avoid clicking the link.

Here’s a List of Shows/Channels/etc. To Get Into if You Need a Distraction Right Now (Part 1)

The Fandom: A Furry Documentary: I know it’s easy to brush off the furry fandom/community as weird or bring up the negativity of recent years, but well-done documentaries like this from inside the fandom that discuss the history and impact of it, as well as the people, do put things into perspective. And even though the director, Ash Coyote, doesn’t feel like this is her best work due to all the stress and chaos that went into getting everything and everyone together for it, I still commend her and everyone for how well it turned out.

Bust or BUST: Take a bunch of YouTube’s more ‘I do this for fun, not to patronize people’ anime YouTubers and get them on a ‘Game Show’ about guessing anime characters by their breast size. Chaos ensues.

sWooZie’s Disney Series: YouTuber sWooZie, way back when, decided to make some short storytime/animatics about his time and tribulations when he worked for Disney. The chill yet comical approach really presents a good story and insight to working for the Magic Kingdom.

The works of Sam Fennah: Satellite City, The August Few, and the upcoming First Night are all signifiers of Sam Fennah’s intricately designed worlds, beautiful creature design, and the lore and dialogue that feeds them. Satellite City will probably be the easiest for someone to jump into to get a feel for the characters and writing, but the animatic previews for Fennah’s upcoming novel The August Few shouldn’t be scoffed at.

Nymphomercial: It’s an uncensored podcast where they review hentai and smut. Always comedically and sometimes regrettably.

Defunctland’s DefunctTV series: More and more people have been made privy to the YouTube channel dedicated to discussing long-gone rides and amusement park attractions of yore, but many may not be aware of the side series that discusses old children shows. Examples including Bear in the Big Blue House, Zoboomafoo, and my favorite Between the Lions.

The works of Felix Colgrave: With the world being made smaller and smaller thanks to the internet, it is becoming rare to see creations that genuinely make your mind have to stop everything and process every aspect that went into their construction and machinations. The animations of Felix Colgrave have such a unique style and flow to them that you really do have to wonder what kind of spirit resides in the mind and body of this man.

Gold Shaw Farm: I was introduced to this channel by complete accident in 2019. I knew that homesteading YouTube channels were becoming more and more popular with more people leaving the city to start homesteads, but none of them really clicked with me until stumbling upon Gold Shaw Farm. Former banker Morgan and his wife Allison (though she rarely appears in videos) run a poultry farm of primarily geese and ducks. And once you watch a video where Morgan starts things off by letting the birds out and saying his signature “RELEASE THE QUACKEN!”, you know you’re in for a fun, chill look at the realistic day-to-day life of running a farm.

kenny lauderdale: Man, Bennett the Sage may sell ‘Oldtaku’ shirts, but this guy really deserves the title. Kenny Lauderdale’s channel centers around old, lost Japanese media. Mostly anime but he’s taken a look at some old television series as well. Of course, my favorite video of his is his look at the famously bad ‘anime’ Chargeman Ken.

Foo the Flowerhorn: This is another channel that I stumbled upon out of the blue. It really is interesting how intriguing something like caring for fish and making natural filtration systems for aquariums can be if someone has such a strong passion for it. And for those who simply like to experience without having someone narrate or dictate, all of the videos here are music and sound only with important information appearing as text on the video.

y.na__homecafe: You may have already been introduced to this channel by various gif sets and stim boards on here. This channel is pretty similar to Foo the Flowerhorn in the no talking, only sound approach, but instead of fish care it centers around making the most Aesthetic (TM) cafe drinks and snacks this side of a hipster bar.
