storytime to yesterday in which me and my friends all changed our profile pictures on discord to wandasho pop in my heart cards (i was tsukasa for reference). we then all changed our discord statuses to "🎇WONDERPOG!!!!!" except for our rui. i then ostracized and attacked rui for not joining our hivemind and rejecting conformity when i told them to change their status, and so we labeled them a "wonderwhore"

when we told rui that we used wonderwhores as an insult for bigots (in order to warn them and put them back in line), rui then stated that they are a bigot.

emu and nene responded with red flag emojis, and that's when our war begun.

rui stated that the red flags were the color of love and their victims blood, so they took it as a compliment. i then announced that rui achieved wonderwhore status for their insolent actions

emu then called nene 'nene' instead of their discord name and then rui asked "who the fuck is a nene?"

nene was super upset, saying that they couldn't believe rui forgot them and that they thought they had something, only for rui to ask who they were again. nene then exclaimed this is why rui is a "wonderWHORE."

rui then told nene to put the emphasis on "whore" and said they were glad that nene was accepting their identity, but also not because they're a bigot and can't stand the idea of peoples identities being accepted

nene then started crying, and i stated my hatred for wonderwhores, telling them to dni

rui then asked emu to make a xenogender flag for them, as they wanted wonderwhoregender to be one of their genders. emu then asked rui for the definition of wonderwhore so they could coin the term, while nene told rui that they should put it in their carrd. rui said that carrds are for losers.

rui said that wonderwhores are associated with whores, confidence, loyalty, love, lust, betrayal, and also bigotry. "big fan of bigotry" they said.

i pointed out the contradiction between wonderwhores being "loyal" and "traitors" simultaneously, but nobody cared as emu yelled that rui's identity wasn't going to fly on tumblr so they couldn't coin it.

rui then continued, saying the wonderwhore identity was also associated with uncertainty, hate, despair, and junko enoshima. nene then stated that everyone in danganronpa would be a wonderwhore, and rui agreed, with their one exception being kiibo.

i then made the mistake of saying that kiibo was a wonderwhore by default because rui likes them, whilst emu was figuring out colors for the wonderwhore flag. rui realized my mistake before i did, quickly abusing the opportunity i opened up for them.

rui said that we were all wonderwhores because they liked us. rui yelled at us to change our statuses as the "revolution of wonderwhore" was occuring and they had "fucking got your(directed towards me) ass" stating that we were now all bigots, just like them. i started chanting (spamming) "WONDERPOG" to try and deter their horrible words, i yelled for my "comrades" saying that we shall "wonderpog". emu accused me of being a communist, to which I quickly shut down, stating that wonderpog isn't a government, it's a movement.

we then went off topic to rui saying cake is a low tier dessert, as they prefer macaroons. ironic cause this bitch is french,, and because i like chocolate macaroons, rui called me a disgrace to humans and wonderpogs.

I stated that rui couldn't decide what is disgraceful or not to wonderpog if rui is not apart of it, to which they argued against by saying i should try saying that to homophobes, racists, and conservatives even though i stated again that wonderpog is a movement, not a species.

i called rui a bigot again, and then nene abruptly interrupted to say that macaroons suck. I asked nene for assistance in fighting to wonderwhore... to help "us."

little did i know that emu would quickly switch sides, stating that they were now a wonderwhore out of boredom. heartbroken, i yelled at emu, telling them not to give into the corruption, but ruis evil plans had worked.

i yelled for nene, begging them for help, stating that rui took emu from us. rui argued that emu chose willingly, while i yelled at them for targeting emus young impressionable mind. rui then said "for someone who isn't a bigot, you sure are against freedom of speech"

rui then accused me of tainting emu in the first place, in which i obviously denied. i would never impose a cult mentality onto emu.

i yelled at rui, telling them we would never harm any children, while rui accused me of acting like character badboyhalo from the dreamsmp by putting myself in a group to directly avoid the responsibility of my actions. i firmly stood my ground and reiterated the wonderpog ideology once more, as rui would not understand.

rui accused me of making nene my scapegoat, to which i firmly denied. nene was loyal, unlike rui, to which nene also yelled that they were loyal like i had said. nene exclaimed that wonderwhores are fools.

i yelled at rui some more for some reason while emu went and grabbed some pizza, and rui accused me of starting a cult chant.

we then accused rui of being the cult, after all, wonderwhores are terrible! rui had taken our youngest member and turned them against us, how could they!

emu then stated that they joined in their own free will, but I shot them down, stating that they don't know what's best for themself.

emu then said i sounded like their mom, SO I REVEALED THE PLOT TWIST THAT I WAS THEIR PARENT ALL ALONG!!! nene then asked them how they could ever go against their beloved parent, tenma tsukasa. emu said they were disowning theirself even though that's not how adoption works anyways

rui then yelled at us for "attacking children" and enforcing a "cult mentality", and I retaliated by calling them "filthy wonderwhore scum" who was twisting our words of truth and dignity

we yelled that we wanted what was best for emu, while rui stated that we wanted to keep them sheltered and under our control forever, which is very incorrect.

emu then tried to tempt nene into joining, stating that they would illustrate minecraft youtuber charlie slimecicle, to which nene was briefly swayed by. i was scared, telling nene not to take the offer even if it was tempting, i begged them, saying they were all i had.

but emu ruined their opportunity by mentioning tommyinnit. nene hates british people.

nene then announced that we were tickling eachothers balls??? rui then exclaimed in shock that they had no idea ball tickling was wonderpog behavior.

meanwhile i was choking on the sour patch kids i was eating.

more arguing ensued, and nene threatened to tickle ruis balls if they continued, to which rui announced that nene was going to get twitter canceled for their problematic actions

emu then said that wonderwhores were the superior movement, to which i accused them and rui of being white supremacists and a cult

then nothing happened the end

Lukadamianette Au Part 2

First Here Next

We begin where we left off, with Luka and Marinette on one of the dates Luka Planned. Just because it makes sense in this, Luka and Mari arrive a week early

Because Mari is emancipated and excused herself for the first week of school before the trip during which the class is still in France bc they just ended summer and all that jazz. also I have decided that the trip has turned into a half semester exchange program even though this doesn’t make the most sense, but the French school thought the class could use a reward and tbh they just wanted to get the Akuma class out for awhile. Also this way they aren’t in Gotham for a whole semester of senior year. The trip is planned for the first half of the first semester of senior year. I know that this doesn't make a whole lot of sense but just stick with me.

They go sight seeing and basically on a week long date bc the following week begins the Wayne sponsored exchange program and when Luka has to work for Jagged. One day they go to museums, the next the go to famous parks around Gotham (which are thriving thanks to Poison Ivy), the next they see all of the famous villain spots (which are surprisingly popular tourist destinations bc for the most part they don’t get hit twice in short periods of time) which is a good cover for studying past bat battles. They take days in between to rest and use the inspiration they gained to make new songs or clothing designs.

They share hotel room bc Mari’s parents stopped being her parents a long time ago and lost their say and bc Jagged says they are grown up enough to be responsible for their actions (which brings a blush to their cheeks every time bc “daaaaaddddd” “uncle jaggeeedddd”)

Mari also makes it her mission to visit all of the non chain coffee shops at least once while they are there bc coffee became her best friend when she was active as ladybug. She meets Tim in almost everyone because Tim also drinks coffee obsessively. Luka is more of a tea drinker because coffee interrupts his musical thought process and tea is less harsh. Marinette drinks tea when she wants to relax but coffee is the fuel of the gods. She expresses this to Tim and that's how they become acquainted bc finally someone understands his love for coffee. They exchange numbers after they run into each other for a fourth time. (Luka silently thinks that he might have to talk to Mari about her obsession of coffee again and if there is a rehab center for coffee drinkers) Tim learns that Mari is from the exchange class very quickly based off of Luka’s French accent as well as her light French accent that is mixed with a couple things he can’t quite place.

The class arrives, Lila ofc tried to pull something to leave Mari behind and she thought she was successful so she was gloating. She ofc took credit for the whole trip claiming that she was super close to the Waynes and that she helped Damian acclimate to his new school (she actually knows that Damian didn’t start living with his father until 10 bc why not). Mrs Bustier tries to check in under both her name and Lila’s name, both of which don’t work because they are A) an hour and a half early and B) all of the reservations are under the contest winners name (they have to ok their chaperones to use their name) C)Mrs Bustier told Mari to make all of the reservations under Mari’s name anyway and she totally forgot that.

So the sit in the lobby for an hour, Lila has the whole class riled up bc Marinette isn't there and it is al her fault that they can’t get in to their rooms. Marinette shows up with Luka 15 mins before the class was supposed to show up (they had just gotten lunch at a cafe that jagged had recommended) and she is laughing and happy, which causes the class to BLOW UP in her face. She ignores them and checks everyone into their rooms. Kagami and Chloe share a suite bc they are rich in their own right and upgraded their shared room bc they are dating and signed up to be roommates. They got this okayed by Buister in writing JIC. Marinette as the contest winner also got a suite (the room she had been staying in with Luka that she just extended the booking for)

Lila and Alya obviously make a big fuss about them getting special treatment but bustier can’t do anything because Mari won’t let her. She secretly thinks Mari is a lost cause now but she tries her best to get her to see that she has to be a role model. Mari actually planned the whole trip and she did a fucking fantastic job bc its Mari and planning something is what she is great at. She has all of the bases covered including iternerary, bookings for food, emergency contact info, health info, info on Gotham, safety procedures and the whole shebang. All of which had to be approved by Bustier and that Bustier has copies of but totally ignored.

The next day they try to pull the let’s leave an hour early to leave behind Marinette stunt. Not only does that fail because the tour can’t start until the contest winner is there, but they arrived before Wayne tower was even open to the public. Because jagged is extra he shipped Luka and Marinette motorcycles to Gotham bc they were going to be there for a couple months, they also got special permission from Wayne enterprises to park their bikes in the employee parking structures from Tim once he heard that they rode bikes as expensive as Jason’s. So she left early from the hotel with Luka(bc she knew that Bustier would leave her behind somehow) to go meet up with Tim at a new coffee place (one of his favorites). They end up riding on their respective bikes to WE together so they can hang out before the tour. Luka goes to a recording studio to meet up with Jagged, but not before a very passionate kiss goodbye, which makes Tim blush. (Tim may not seem like the biker type but he is a bat and he lives with Jason so he not only knows how to ride a motorcycle well has one, so it may not be his favorite mode of transportation but he’ll live)

So he and Marinette walk to WE about a half an hour before the class is supposed to be there in the middle of a debate on how best to brew coffee (Mari insists its French press) and low and behold they are there yelling at the receptionist. Mari gives Tim a look that says I’m so sorry you have to see this and yes I was not exaggerating walks up to the receptionist and apologizes for what she is about to do (not for the classes actions bc fuck them they can apologize for themselves she has learned to not take responsibility for others actions and she won’t let all that work go to waste). She then proceeds to yell, much louder than someone of her stature presumably should “SHUT THE FUCK UP OR I STG I WILL BREAK JOKER OUT OF ARKHAM AND LOCK HIM IN A ROOM WITH ALL OF YOU WITHOUT FLINCHING” this is shocking to everyone, especially mrs bustier who is scandalized that her role model student would do something like this.

Tim had a feeling that something video worthy would happen so as soon as she walked away he started recording, and he was NOT disappointed. The video gos straight to the batfam gc and Luka immediately. He powered off his phone then he proceeds to start laughing and applauding. Upon seeing the CEO’s reaction the rest of the employees start applauding as well bc damn those kids were rude. Tim then walks up to Mari talking at a speed no one but Mari, Chloe and Kagami could understand (bc the class is not fluent in English no matter what they would tell you). Mari proceeds to blush once he informs her that he sent a video to Luka (he does not tell her about the batfam gc)

Chloe and Kagami are immediate intrigued bc this is NOT what they picture when Mari said she met someone who loves coffee as much as she does. they may be hella gay for each other but damn that man is ripped. They join the convo while the class remains befuddled bc who knew Mari even swore. in the back of his mind Nino is reminded of a young blue-eyed girl who lost playground privileges for a week bc someone made fun of his glasses and proceed to punch said someone in the nose. But he shakes it of because Mari hasn’t been like that in years.

Bustier eventually collects herself and gently, so as not to cause an Akuma (apparently she didn't get the memo), reminds Mari that they are here for a tour and she needs to get the class their passes. So Mari leaves her friends to get acquainted and goes up to the receptionist, to whom she apologizes for her actions again, and the receptionist replies with a laugh and a “honey, you just made my week, there's no need to apologize I should be thanking you” (she does thank Mari). Mari gets a special pass bc she’s the contest winner to which Lila and Alya (then the rest of the class for the most part) proceed to throw a hissy fit over. The receptionist is so over them though and doesn’t even blink.

Then their tour guide shows up. (its Dick and his assistant Damian). Damian proceeds to scold the class for a solid ten mins (which coincidentally leads up to their scheduled time to start the tour). Dick slides off to talk to the receptionist and his brother who isn't working and is talking to real people for once. Just for that they are his favorite out of the class. Tim unfortunately has to go to work so they talk to Dick to get acquainted until the tour has to officially start.

Los tres amigos are the only ones who pay attention to Dick at all (he leads the tour bc he’s been there the longest but Damian throws in a comment here or there mostly related to shenanigans his family has gotten into but overall useful facts. for example these windows are reinforced because our CEO (Tim) leaned up against one, fell asleep and fell through the window to the office below.)

The rest of the class is focused on Lila who is talking a whole bunch of nonsense about the Wayne family and how she has helped them with their business. Some things actually sound kinda legit, but Mari and Co. know that it is BS. Dick tries to bet bustier involved but she makes an excuse for Lila and goes on her phone and doesn’t really pay attention.

Eventually the class tour turns into Dick talking to Mari, Chloe and Kagami while the class vaguely follows them. Damian doesn’t really say anything because he generally doesn’t do well talking to strangers and these girls seem ok and he is still insecure (not that he would ever admit it to anyone ) about social interaction now that he has figured out how people who weren’t raised as assassins act. That is until Dick starts talking about shenanigans that his brothers get into, and Damian jumps in correcting him because I did not try to tackle Todd, Grayson I did tackle Todd quite successful and also Alfred won’t let you into the kitchen anymore because you almost burned down the east wing of the manor not because he is territorial over the kitchen. And Mari hadn’t really paid attention to Damian until now but OH MY KAWAMI he is hot, and how did she talk so long to notice that.

She ends up taking a pic of Damian without him noticing (he really doesn’t notice which is a feat in itself but Dick does and he will be teasing Damian about it later bc obviously) and she texts it to Luka bc if she is going to freak out over his hotness she wants Luka to do so too. ( he sees the pic in the middle of recording and he ends up needing a water break bc gay panic and he really is extremely handsome. Recording gets delayed even longer bc jagged cannot pass up the opportunity to tease him son and he does so mercilessly and Mari totally knew what she was doing when she sent that picture) Luka ends up demanding that she gets Damians number or he will because that man is fine.

Mari now knows that the stuttering idolization that she had with Adrien wasn’t really healthy and Luka likes to remind her all the time that she can be smooth when she wants to be (sometimes unintentionally but she practices on Luka because she loves to see him blush). Mari then makes it her mission to compliment Damian as much as possible so that it is crystal clear and very obvious that she is flirting with him. If he even shows a little discomfort in a negative I don’t like this kind of way she will stop because she will not make someone go through what she went through with Chat Noir and unwanted advances.

Chloe, Kagami and Dick immediately notice that she is flirting with Damian. Chloe takes a video for Luka bc she knows that he would want to see this and Dick takes a video for the Batfam gc.

Just to be clear Mari and Luka have talked about seeing other people and maybe adding a third person to their relationship as long as they talk about it. that line of communication was opened when Mari sent a pic of Damian to Luka and when Luka asked for his number that was his “go ahead” for her to flirt with Damian. Lila doesn’t understand how that works and neither do the rest of the class so that is a point of contention between the class and Mari. She would NEVER cheat on Luka, she loves him and he is the most important person to her in the world. Something that Juleka understands (she just doesn’t like Mari bc of Lila she knows how polyamory works this is why her and Luka aren't as close as they used to be)

Moving on... the batfam gc blows up for a second time that day and so when the class goes to the cafeteria Tim just has to see this for himself. Mari tries not to be obnoxious in her flirting so she compliments Damians intelligence by asking him questions that weren't included in the tour, and she asks him about his interests and is like that must have taken a lot of time to perfect you must be very dedicated. Damian isn’t used to genuine compliments especially from strangers so he is very flustered by it but he makes no indication for her to stop.

The day winds down and the class has some free time before they have to go to dinner but the do have to leave the tower. Mari does actually get Damians number (he thinks she must be very well trained to get his number that quick bc he refuses to accept that he gave it to her because he likes her) Mari promises to ft him later bc he promised to let her meet his dog and she doesn’t want to wait until the class has dinner at the manor to see Titus.

K first off I know it's to0 early for me to take any sort of break considering I've been writing for only a month, not a full month yet even.

Yeee s0 I started this blog without any writing experience, and I already knew my writing was shitty (•౪• ). I hated writing and always will bc it takes time and effort and braincells.

I received feedback from an irl friend that "I write for attention" which sucked bc I write to experiment stuff but that ain't the reason I'm stopping for while lol. I'm stopping bc I ran out the motiv to write, not like I had any.

I do have like 9 drafts that I haven't touched in weeks lmao ⁽(✿◉◡◉).

I will queue 3 things: Inuoka headcannons (req), Bokuto fic, and part 3 of Our Kingdom.

Tho I'm not sure if I'm coming back, bc I have a stupid habit of when taking breaks, I keep saying 'only a little longer' then ends up stopping for real lmao.

Plus my writings suck ass lol.

where do i begin

demyx — number ix in organization xiii ( demyx vc : are we still gonna call ourselves organization xiii now that there’s 14 of us ? ) he is ... lazy . arguably the most cowardly of the bunch , doesn’t like fighting , and would rather nap or play music .

that being said ... despite his very emotional exterior in comparison , we have seen that he can get just as serious / dark like the rest of them if he really needs to ...

idk i have a lot of feelings .

he’s very ?? idk how to explain it bt like . “ what’s in it for me ? ” ( as we really see in kh3 ) & like . i wld say he is a mix of ravenclaw / slytherin just . minus the whole cutthroat ambition of slytherin etc bc tbh that isn’t him . he’s kinda just along for the ride . i am rejecting those MoM theories and i’m not sorry ab it idc if they say it’s true , i REFUSE .

i feel like since demyx allegedly never remembered his somebody life , he probably didn’t care as much ab the whole kingdom hearts thing because he didn’t drink the kool-aid because like why would he want a life that he doesn’t even remember you know ?? plus it’s — he already knew xemnas & saïx were fucken lying when they said the nobodies didn’t have hearts JKDWJHSNS why did he need to be a somebody to regain a heart when he believed he already had one !!!

anyway demyx in the manga was honestly a mood and a half i adore him

when he was brought back to the organization for kh3 , he was made into a seeker of darkness — meaning baby water boy got NORTED . his ears didn’t appear to be pointed in some way ( like the others ) so it’s safe to say he didn’t get as much of xehanort’s heart placed inside of him . bt it was enough to turn his pretty blue eyes into that ominous gold .

regardless , he was benched despite going through that whole process which like i HIGHLY doubt is an easy one to even do ( so good on demyx for being strong enough to withstand it ,,, ) bt it’s ! to be noted ! because he felt bitter ab being demoted after , and ofc with a mystery incentive from vexen , demyx finally took the offer of backstabbing the organization ( read : it goes back to what i said ab him being like well what’s in it for me ..... since before he got apparently satisfied enough , he’s like uhhhh sorry bt have u seen what happens to idiots who betray these guys lol like idk ab all that )

so basically self-preservation of a slytherin . there i said it ! plot twist he isn’t a coward , he’s just smart enough to not throw himself head first into danger . go figure , right ? like look alright he may be comedic relief bt ... he is also more than that !

in the organization he was known to kinda be a bully / play pranks / manipulate others into doing his work for him bt at the end of the day he ?? isn’t like . REALLY a bad guy or whatever . saying it was the pressure of the organization is dulling everything down , because he still actively chose to do what he did and didn’t do and i will hold him responsible for it , bt . u know . shit happens !

like we have canon evidence he wld join in xigbar when it comes to the more like . idk i guess harsher teasing ? and all ? and like again demyx made the conscious choice to go along w it so he isn’t innocent bt , i firmly stand by saying demyx unintentionally looked up to xigbar despite even ‘ fighting ’ with him , bc .. well . i stan them being a That duo . because to me , he’s just a prankster who wants a laugh .. even at the expense of another .. which yea idk still yikes ... bt it isn’t like , malicious .. when he is on his own .. imo . i mean take the days manga , he puts a whoopee cushion on axel’s chair ? bitch pls ..

( also quick going back to him being strong enough to accept getting norted — please just remember .... nobodies aren’t even supposed to exist ! they only technically form when the person who lost their heart is strong-willed & tbh ? i think it speaks volumes for demyx bc despite the show he puts on ,..... he is there . )

alright so look i know i sound like i am in denial of the MoM stuff and that mayhaps be so . however there’s definitely smthin off . like we KNOW he can be uhhhh a pos like the remark he has in days ab how the castle that never was is quieter without everyone who was eliminated at castle oblivion , bt — it was always a really weird line to me because he’s always been branded as the most emotional of the organization / the one who adamantly believed they had hearts the whole time ? which . inch resting ! i wld like to formally say ONE OF THESE is a fucken coping mechanism of sorts or smthin bc it’s really ... a lot and nothing makes sense and like that’s the entirety of kh lore in a nutshell bt ya . like i think it ties into the whole self-preservation thing bc it’s like , wow they really went and got themselves fucken murked ... how dumb ... bt at the same time bc like again the biggest pusher for #nobodieshavehearts , it’s like “ oh that’s depressing ” & like . a mess .

Summery: You have a really bad nightmare and it effects you worse than normal, so Steve has new plans for you instead of going on a mission.

After a mission failed, you went back to the compound with your teammates. Tony and Steve were already talking about going back with more than four people and training even more so you’re all prepared for the worst. You had a gash in your arm but you tied it up with some cloth to prevent bleeding too much. Steve kept checking on you but you promised you were feeling okay and that you’d be alright. As you got to the compound, you went to the med-bay and got stitched up before thanking the nurse and exiting, heading to your room. After changing into your pyjamas, you take your laptop and sit on your bed putting on ‘To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before’. You’re about 20 minutes into the movie when there’s a knock on your door.

‘C’mon in.’ You say warmly, sitting up properly. Steve entered your room, closing the door gently behind him. He moved over on your bed smiling at him as he takes place next to you.

‘How are you feeling?’ He asks as you close up your laptop. You shrug in response and sigh.

‘The pain meds are wearing off now so I’m starting to feel the pain, but other than that, I’m doing just fine.’ Your voice was quiet and you looked really tired. Steve cuddled up closer to you and wrapped an arm around your shoulders. Before long, you slumped against him and fell asleep. He places a kiss to your forehead then picks you up bridal style and places you into your bed and covers you up. You sigh but open your eyes a little and pull on his arm gently, whispering, ‘Stay?’ He nods and goes to the other side of the bed pulling the covers over himself.

You and Steve had been dating for a couple of years, you just hadn’t gotten a room together. Sometimes you needed your own space for a little while and Steve understood that, so you both agreed you wouldn’t move in together; anywhere. Not for now anyway. More than space though, you had major trust issues from past relationships, Steve would never hurt you and you knew that, but it wasn’t easy to just pick up and leave with someone especially when you have an ongoing doubt that you might do or say something that’ll cause a problem.

At about 2 AM, Steve wakes up. He feels your non-stop movements, like your feet kicking air and your hands gripping and letting go of the sheets. Your sleeping grunts, as well as your sweating and light shaking. He whispers your name, gently shaking you awake. You wake up and it takes you a moment to realise where you are.

Every time you, Steve or someone else you cared about dearly got hurt during a mission, you'd have either a nightmare where they’d get really injured and end up dying, tearing your heart apart or, you’d die and you’d have to watch the people around you slowly start to forget you and it would get to a point where they didn’t care about or remember you. When you wake up, you cry and basically have a panic attack. And that’s exactly what happened.

Once you adjust to where you are, your eyes well up in tears and you start to cry really hard. Your breath comes short but not for a second were you alone. Steve’s warm arms wrapped around you and he whispered sweet things to help calm you down. He continuously kissed your forehead and rocked you back and forth in his arms. After calming down you realised how bad everything really was today.

‘Everything is okay doll.’ Steve whispered as he wiped your tears away. You sniffled before holding on tightly to your boyfriend. When morning came you found that you were alone in your bed. You knew Steve had probably gone for his morning run so you went down to get some food. Tony called you into a meeting and you found everyone there.

‘The mission from yesterday failed as we all know, thankfully most of us didn’t have anything terrible happen. We need to go in again tonight. Cap, you’ll be paired with Y/N. Help her train and then when we get there, go undercover as HYDRA interns. Barton and Romanoff you guys are together, Barnes and Wilson, you guys pair together and don’t mess this up.’ Tony kept giving out what everyone needed to do, but your head was elsewhere. The meeting ended and you chose to quickly slip into your room, leaving Steve with Tony.

Steve met you near the Quinjet but before you got on, he guided you wordlessly to a small plane. ‘What are we doing Steve? I thought we had to go with them, then we’d split up.’ Steve opened the door letting you in first.

‘That was the plan, but now we have to leave separately.’ He said and you nodded. You two fell into a comfortable silence, but after a while, you started heading towards a runway in a mountain.

‘Steve, where are you going?’ You ask.

‘We’re not doing the mission.’ He informed.

‘Why not!? I’m completely fine!’ You were frustrated. It’s happened before, sure not this badly, but it’s happened.

‘You’re not. It hasn’t happened like it did last night and I don’t want you to get hurt.’ You decided you’d give him the silent treatment for a while. He waited to tell you and you were actually looking forward to being a HYDRA intern for a couple of days. You entered the cabin without a word which made Steve chuckle.

About an hour passed when Steve gave you a cup hot chocolate and wrapped a warm blanket around you. You smiled at him and thanked him. ‘She speaks!’ He said euphorically. You laughed and rested your head on his chest since he took place next to you.

‘I love you Steve. Thank you for taking me away. I guess I never knew how stressed I could actually be.’ Steve smiled and placed two fingers under your chin before pressing his lips to yours. You melted into him almost automatically. You placed your cup down on the floor before wrapping your arms around Steve’s neck. His tongue slid along your bottom lip asking for entrance which you happily gave him. He laid you on the couch. You smiled into the kiss and before pulling away, you pulled on Steve’s bottom lip. You both took a moment to breathe, his eyes no longer bright blue like before. You went to kiss him again when you heard a knock on the door. You both eyed each other, but there was another knock.

‘Stay here.’ Steve said sternly, picking up his shield and heading to the door. You didn’t follow his instructions and quietly followed him taking the gun from the table near the couch. Another knock echoed through the room. Steve opened the door ready to attack when a young Peter Parker was standing outside.

‘Woah. Sorry Captain. I-I uh, I went to help Mr Stark but he sent me here because he said it’s too dangerous. Hi Y/N!’ He said waving to you. You smiled and went to the door and hugged your young friend. Steve shut the door after Peter and you got him a cup of hot chocolate.

‘You scared me Peter!’ You exclaimed. He rubbed the back of his neck and apologised.

‘You’re here now kid so you should be safe. We’ll head back in a few days. You can find your room right? With your spidey-sense.’ Steve tried to get the kid out off the room.

‘That’s not how it works but yeah. Thanks for letting me stay here Captain.’ Peter said smiling.

‘I’ve told you before Peter, call me Steve.’ Steve said with a smile, while trying to usher Peter away.

‘Right. Well thanks guys!’ Peter said before leaving to find an empty room.

‘You don’t like to listen to orders when you’re off duty, do you?’ Steve asked, taking you by surprise. You then realised what he meant.

‘Long answer, if something happened to you, I wouldn’t have been safe and if you needed backup, I’d be there to help.’ Steve cocked an eyebrow and had an amused look.

‘And short answer?’ He asked.

You step closer to him, wrapping your arms around his neck, smiling up at him whispering, ’No.’ A slight shake to your head. ‘No, I don’t like orders when I’m off duty, but you should already know that, captain.’ Steve smirked at your words and a slight blush dusted his cheeks. Before anything could progress however, Peter came back into the room with a smile on his face.

‘What’re we watching?’ He asked, you laughed and pulled away from Steve’s embrace.

‘Soon.’ You whispered to Steve, he instantly understood what you meant and smiled. ‘Your choice Peter.’ You smiled at the teenager before sitting next to him on the couch.

You had to admit, although you didn’t want to be away from the “fun” mission, you were quite enjoying the time with Steve and Peter. You were all safe and away from danger. That’s what you always wanted for Steve.

An Interview with a Paperless Practitioner Doing Things Her Way

Welcome back to the second in our series of interviews with Gusto partners who just so happen to be doing some pretty cool things out there in the exciting world of accounting. In case you missed the last one, we introduced you to Bruce Phillips of Aprio Cloud, all while extolling the virtues of payroll and benefits solutions provided by our friends at Gusto. Go give it a read.

Before we jump in, we encourage you to pay Gusto a visit to find out how they’re bringing payroll and benefits into the 21st century. Forget flying cars, what the future needed was a modern solution to getting your people paid, onboarded, and insured. I mean, flying cars would have been nice but hey, this is pretty good too.

This time around, you’re meeting the incomparable Nayo Carter-Gray of Maryland-based 1st Step Accounting. Not to play favorites but we’re particularly fond of her paperless approach and how she’s using technology to embrace the deskless lifestyle.

Going Concern: Let’s get some introductions out of the way. Tell us about your firm.

Nayo Carter-Gray: 1st Step Accounting is a virtual accounting and tax preparation firm that is environmentally conscious and focused on leveraging technology for efficiency and convenience.

The culture I’m building for my practice is one of flexibility and freedom. I truly believe no one should be tied to a desk because of the advancement of technology, and so I try to ensure that my customers can work with us regardless of location and can access all information with at bare minimum a smartphone.

GC: As laptop hobos ourselves, we fully get behind the deskless lifestyle. What all do you do over there?

Carter-Gray: We currently offer accounting and bookkeeping services, tax preparation and planning, education and seminars (online and in-person), QuickBooks online setup and training, IRS and state tax audit and collection services, as well as consulting for small business growth and development.

GC: Nice. So a solid well-rounded suite basically. Bit of a personal question maybe but why did you start your firm?

Carter-Gray: I started my firm initially as a tax preparation firm, and I focused on multilevel marketing business owners because I was a MLM business owner. I found that my team members and other colleagues were being fed bad information when it came to reporting the business income and expenses on their taxes. After the first tax season, I discovered a need for bookkeeping and education for the small business community since the larger firms don’t want to waste their time and resources on these customers because they don’t earn them enough billable hours.

GC: It’s funny, we’ve heard that from other firm owners about starting with tax prep and then branching out when they see a need to provide more services to their clients. It’s almost as if tax prep is a gateway drug. So, if the little old lady you’re helping cross the street asks you about your work, how would you describe your job?

Carter-Gray: I make accounting a little less taxing for small business owners all across the U.S.

GC: Excellent play on words. While you’re making things less taxing for your clients, what tools can you not live without?

Carter-Gray: So many to choose from! My project management system Trello keeps me on track, my forms builder Cognito Forms helps me organize data collection from clients, and my online scheduler/CRM vCita does just about everything: it helps me keep my schedule in order, allows my clients to conveniently book appointments that work for them, and helps me to keep communication and notes in one centralized location.

As an honorable mention, I can’t live without my SideTrak second monitor for my laptop which conveniently attaches to the back of the laptop and slides out to make working from home as easy as working from my office.

GC: And Gusto, natch! How did you first hear about them?

Carter-Gray: Another accountant mentioned them (not sure who), and shortly after I heard about Gusto, I attended QuickBooks Connect where I got to see all the features for myself at a breakfast they hosted. I switched my largest customer at the time a month later because I was so impressed.

GC: Excellent first impressions aside, any surprises about partnering with Gusto?

Carter-Gray: No real surprises because Gusto did a fabulous job of presenting its product. I will say the payroll autopilot feature definitely lived up to the hype. I have several clients on salary and this makes payroll a breeze!

GC: Positive feedback is always nice. How about you? What do you think is the best perk of partnering with Gusto?

Carter-Gray: I do love how Gusto listens to its community and makes improvements based on our feedback. And it’s awesome that Gusto offers a discount or revenue share when we refer the product to our communities.

GC: Alright, enough about all the benefits of partnering with Gusto. What are some challenges your firm has faced in 2019? And don’t be afraid to tell us the really tough stuff.

Carter-Gray: This year my firm struggled with finding a project management system to stay in constant communication with my clients. After taking some hard but necessary feedback from a few clients that left the firm this year, I decided to make it a priority to find/create a system that would allow us to stay on track of deadlines and give our customers the insight they needed to know what was going on with their project.

Another challenge is because I’m the only person working in the firm year-round, my personal goals have hindered the growth of the firm this year. I’m currently sitting for the CPA exam, which is very time-consuming and it has taken away from major marketing efforts to bring in tons of new clients like I have in the past.

GC: Wow, that’s got to be incredibly difficult. We’re sure you’ll do great. Back to your clients, are you seeing any future trends on their side our readers might be interested in hearing about?

Carter-Gray: My clients will continue to grow in their respective industries. Because I work with businesses that are newly formed or have only been in business for one to two years, I get to watch their growth from part-time hustle to full-time enterprise. So I’m expecting a few of my part-timers to go full time in their businesses in 2020 because of their steady growth.

GC: That’s gotta be fun for you to see your clients thrive. On that note, can you tell us about an interesting client situation that you’ve advised on? Or something exciting your clients are working on?

Carter-Gray: The most interesting situation that I have advised on may not be very interesting at all to most. For me, I’m very interested in watching my clients grow. So the situation I have had the most pleasure of advising on was watching a current client who is a hair stylist create and sell a physical hair-styling product. To be a part of the team that helped her go from concept to reality was an amazing experience.

The client’s reality is that the older she gets, the harder it will be for her body to sustain the hours she puts in at the salon standing and styling people’s hair. So creating her product is going to allow her to create an exit plan before she actually needs it, and this is so inspiring and interesting to me.

GC: I bet! I’m happy to report that we’re done with the interrogation portion of this interview, now on to the easy stuff! What’s your usual breakfast?

Carter-Gray: Usually it’s two eggs over easy, but during the winter months when it’s cold or I’m traveling, it’s apple cinnamon oatmeal.

GC: Everyone has a routine for winding down at the end of a stressful day. What’s yours?

Carter-Gray: I love me some good TV and a delicious Coca-Cola slurpee. I can drink them every day no matter the temperature.

GC: Man! I haven’t had one of those in FOREVER. Alright, tell us a fact about you that would surprise people to hear.

Carter-Gray: I was a parent by the age of 14.

GC: Yep, definitely surprised! What a wonderful example you’re setting of how hard work and a forward-thinking attitude can take you far in life and make an impact in the world.

Secret features

The one thing I’ve always got to congratulate Nintendo on is that they always provide entertainment: in both their games and the bizarre way they run their business. The thing that fascinates me is whether they realise how odd they’re being or if, as I suspect, they think it’s everyone else that’s being strange. Remember that oddness is in the eye of the beholder, and if you think someone is odd they probably think the same of you for the opposite reasons.

That attempt at seeing their perspective aside though, I just cannot begin to understand what they’re playing at. Even assuming we start getting proper previews next week, that’s barely a week before release! And we still know nothing definitive about the eShop, how the online will work, controller compatibility, the specs of the machine, third party support, the Virtual Console… basically anything other than what it looks like and the launch line-up.

How can they possibly not think this is damaging? I don’t even see any evidence of there being a Nintendo Direct before launch, which I would’ve thought impossible given the situation. I just can’t think of any possible reason why these things are being kept a secret. I just hope I’m not going to end up being more entertained by the circus surrounding the Switch rather than the console itself (naturally, I’ve pre-ordered one). Station

Real money

I was interested to see that Halo Wars 2 is yet another full price, big budget game with microtransactions in it. I don’t actually have a problem with the idea myself, as it doesn’t seem to interfere with any of my online play and I would certainly prefer to have microtransactions and free DLC than season passes (and probably microtransactions as well anyway).

What I cannot fathom though is who actually pays for them? Who cares so much about what hat their character is wearing (that they can’t see because it’s first person) or that they haven’t got all the cards in a virtual card game that they’re willing to pay real money for them. I read that someone paid $1,000 in microtransactions in Fire Emblem Heroes and still didn’t get the character they wanted!

Is anyone reading this willing to admit they pay for microtransactions? I haven’t paid as much as a penny for them my whole life and the idea of spending thousands just seems incomprehensible to me. I’m curious what the most is anywhere here is willing to admit to. Ron Orange

Small applause

Apparently the day one patch for Horizon Zero Dawn is just 250GB. I know we’re always happy to complain about ridiculous patches that seem to be half the game but can we get a show of appreciation for a developer that actually seems to be doing things right for once? Especially as such a small patch implies that the game is properly finished and not very buggy.

To me this is one thing Nintendo definitely gets right and there’s no excuse for it from other developers. If your game’s not finished don’t release, end of story. Just add an extra month’s grace at the end of your schedule and that’s all you need. Maybe yearly sequels like FIFA and Call Of Duty don’t have that luxury but everything else should realise that first impressions count. Rex

Ultimate disappointment

Has anyone else seen the first person mode on Ultimate Street Fighter II? It, um, looks rubbish? I know it was never intended to be anything but a throwaway mini-game but it looks almost embarrassingly bad. The thing that really worries me though is that the motion controls seem to be really unreliable. It looks like you’ve only got three moves (Ryu’s specials) and yet the Joy-Con controllers are only catching them half the time.

The whole mini-game (you could argue that the whole of Ultimate Street Fighter II) looks like it was knocked up in someone’s lunch break but that’s no excuse. I don’t see how Nintendo can be happy having this footage out there. Or what Capcom were thinking releasing this video. I mean watch this and bear in mind someone looked at it, edited it all up, and thought, ‘Yeah, this looks cool. This will make someone buy the game’. Crazy. Willis

Monthly budget

I wonder if anyone else has a gaming budget they try to stick to? I guess some (rich) people just buy stuff as it comes out, but I have £30 a month I afford myself that I spend the best way I can. I can carry over money to the next month, and I make special exceptions for new consoles (but not the Switch, sorry Nintendo) but otherwise I stick pretty strictly to that budget.

I find it works out pretty good on a number of levels. It makes me think harder about which new game to get, it cuts down on my backlog, and it stops me from wasting money on launch day when I could get two or three games for the same price. It also has the side benefit that if I’m buying games a few months after they were out then they’re all in working condition and properly patched.

But is this just me being too organised, or do other people do it too? Temble

Front row seat

So it seems we are getting an earlier day for the E3 Briefing this year from Microsoft. Instead of it being on a Monday it is now happening on a Sunday, on the 11th June this year.

I wonder what Microsoft has up its sleeve, to be doing something as unexpected and unheard of such as this? Considering we don’t know all of what is coming to Xbox One/Scorpio in the near future this is going to be very interesting to see what gets announced, and what surprises Microsoft and developers have for us.

I will be looking forward to seeing what their Scorpio will show at the event and to see if the existing games run well on it, as well as future releases. Regardless of which platform anyone supports this is at least going to be worth a watch, which I will be watching. I would like to ask will the community at GameCentral and the GameCentral team be watching this live or after the event has been recorded? gaz be rotten (gamertag)

Fictional release

Did a new BlazBlue come out not too long ago? Or are my memories becoming untrustworthy?

Some will probably find her irritating, but Taokaka is my favourite character by far. Is she still adorable in the new game? If there is a new game, that is?

GC: BlazBlue: Central Fiction came out in November. We prefer Makoto, because she looks a bit like Squirrel Girl. Although we do wish she’d put some clothes on.

Space Control

I feel I have to challenge the comments Gary Bannister made about Dead Space. Yes, the games are slightly generic but most mainstream games are derivative of other pieces of media, it’s how the developer/publisher attracts sales – by reminding their potential customers of a game or movie franchise they may have already bought into.

The much-heralded Dark Souls, for instance, is very generic and influenced by the fantasy genre in its presentation. Do these generic aspects make Dark Souls a bad game?

My main point of disagreement with Gary is his mention of mediocre controls. I thought both Dead Space 1 and 2 were expertly designed in this respect. I particularly liked the ‘idiot button’ which put a line on the floor to show you where to go.

If we’re bringing up poor controls, how about mentioning Resident Evil 5 which (if I remember correctly) was compared unfavourably to Dead Space due to its general awkwardness and the fact that you couldn’t move and shoot.

I’d be interested in hearing what game Gary thinks has good controls. Control issues are a complaint that doesn’t seem to be mentioned much these days. Am I right in thinking controls are one aspect of gaming that has only become better? msv858 (Twitter)

So it seems we are getting an earlier day for the E3 Briefing this year from Microsoft. Instead of it being on a Monday it is now happening on a Sunday, on the 11th June this year.

Did a new BlazBlue come out not too long ago? Or are my memories becoming untrustworthy?

Some will probably find her irritating, but Taokaka is my favourite character by far. Is she still adorable in the new game? If there is a new game, that is?

GC: BlazBlue: Central Fiction came out in November. We prefer Makoto, because she looks a bit like Squirrel Girl. Although we do wish she’d put some clothes on.
