So for the Mesoterran species with East Noderan ancestry you mentioned "specialized walkabies" and mountain goat like descendants of the twinpeaked bicorn? What are those species like?

The continent of Mesoterra was formed by the three-way fusion of Isla Centralis, North Ecatoria, and East Nodera, and its current fauna reflects this history. From Isla Centralis came the rabbeasts and the scabbers, and from North Ecatoria came the drundles and the buffants, which would give rise to the podotheres and the piggalo.

The fauna of East Nodera, however, had generally proved less sucessful. Affected by the end of the Glaciocene, its unique carnohams, girats and beelzeboars would not see it through to the Temperocene. As such, the rabbeasts would instead take over as primary herbivores in the Temperocene, and while earlier the walkabies and ungulopes would find temporary success, the evolution of the loupgaroos and their descendant the ripperroo would prove to be their ultimate downfall.

Still, a few relics persist, hardy, specialized lineages that continue to survive in the Middle Temperocene where their counterparts could not. The trunked walkabies, ever so pressured by the domination of the podotheres, would be forced out of the mainland, save for two unique species: the pinguiphants.

Both the larger spectacled pinguiphant (Noahrcus paulii), found on the coasts of the Mesoterran mainland, and the smaller blue-ringed pinguiphant (Thalasselephacephalus minor), native to smaller offshore islands, would be just another one of the many species exploiting the abundant shallow seas in the Temperocene. Both species have since become coastal and semi-aquatic, swimming with paddle-like forelimbs and webbed feet while using their tails to steer, and their long flexible trunks acting as handy snorkels. The pinguiphants are primarily herbivorous, foraging at sea for algae, seagrass and kelp, but occasionally will supplement their diet with bivalves and quillnobs, which they crack open by flinging them at rocks on shore. Both species seek out food in the water, but seek refuge on land, gathering together in small groups on shore. They rear their young communally, as each adult bears just one pup at a time, and some adults stand guard over the rookery while others forage, taking turns to switch their tasks.

Another species of East Noderan ancestry is Mesoterra's only extant ungulope, the threepeaked tricorn (Triceratungulus tricornis). The last surviving descendant of the twinpeaked bicorn of the Late Therocene, the tricorn thrives in the mountains of the Mesoterran Alps: the one environment the large carnivorous loupgaroos had not colonized. Here was their refuge, even as the other ungulopes of the mainland died out as the ripperroos and later the harmsters spread throughout the continent, and upon its fusion with Isla Centralis the rabbeasts quickly adopted their vacated role instead, leaving the tricorn relegated to the tall peaks, with only the cragspringers, basal kin to the pterodents, as their only contemporaries in the inhospitable region. Even then, they seldom venture to the highest altitudes, where the air is thin, the food is scarce and the weather is harsh, and, less adapted to these than the cragspringers, ends up occupying a different zone than the cragspringers do in the Mesoterran Alps. They are, however, quite specialized to their steep and rocky home, with thick coats to ward off winds and colder air, surefooted hooves able to gain purchase on rugged inclines, and powerful, squared off jaws, suited for gnawing on lichens, mosses, and sparse hardy grasses that grow close to the surfaces and deeply anchored to rock.

The highest peak, called the Great (Grande) reaches 2999 m, the second, the West Peak (Cima Ovest) the 2973 m and the smallest, the Small (Piccola) the 2857 m. You can access by car (2 hour drive from Bolzano), bus (line 444 from Dobbiaco town). You can start your walk from Rifugio Auronzo.
