I don’t mean this as hate, I love your work so much and am super grateful for it 🥰 (and I know this is really my issue, I can just not engage with your work) but I kind of really loved that you weren’t a smut writer. You wrote amazing pieces of angst and fluff without having to rely on smut to hook people in (which imo is much harder to do). The point of this comment, I guess is to tell you I valued you so much without the smut and you’re more than that. Again no hate, I don’t mean any upset.

I know you didn't mean to offend me with this, but it has upset me somewhat.

I have written 704,000 words of fanfic for this fandom. And that is actually just what is on my Ao3, there's about another 40,000 here on tumblr that has never made it over. Do you know how much of that almost 750k words (that I wrote for free) is smut? Less than 5,000.

I appreciate it's not everyone's cup of tea, which is why it's tagged, and as you pointed out yourself - you don't have to read it. But I wanted to try something new. I think it's fair to say we all know I'm never going to write explicit smut. I read it, don't get me wrong, but it's not something I see myself writing.

The use of the past tense saying I wrote amazing pieces of angst and fluff, and that you valued me without it, is what has upset me. I will still continue to write works without smut. I have 74 works on AO3, and ONE of them has smut. One.

My new fic will have it, but again it will form part of the story and, in my opinion, won't take away from it. It will add to their eventual love story, and form part of how they grow together. I'll tell you right now it won't be explicit. I rated the fic as 'M' because if in doubt, I always rate higher than it is, because it's my responsibility as a writer to make sure my readers know what they are getting into. It's actually more likely to count as 'T'.

Anyway, I hope you continue to enjoy my works (the ones without smut anyway) and I hope you understand where this response is coming from.

At the end of the day, I am someone who does this because:

a) writing is a hobby I can enjoy without being limited by my disability.

b) I love seeing people's reactions. It makes me happy. Usually.

That's been everything the past year, hasn't it? I don't know. The universe can't keep throwing things at me expecting me to understand in the span of half a blink the world can't keep moving a million times faster than my mind is time can't keep passing like this.

I'm not eleven anymore and it doesn't feel like it. Is this how growing up just is? Stumbling through the days not knowing what you're doing at any moment? Wishing you knew anything at all? Glaring at the blameless sky hoping everything would be easier? Being selfish, being wrong and calling it care?

(I care about you. That's always forever constant, and maybe it doesn't seem it through everything but I do. The world is falling apart at the seams, and I hope you aren't.)

The static in my head says nothing and it is the loudest out of everything. No one's taught you how to live no one's going to. Your mind is blurred into near-insanity, illogicality and irrationality that will rule. The view of the world you built- it is crumbling, falling, deteriorating and you are only sorry you did not see it coming earlier. What happened to the blue skies and sword-fighting on the roof where did they go? Where did I go? Where are you?

Reality is made up of scattered bricks, and I am losing them to fear. The universe is woven with infinite threads, and they are unravelling. Tales of lives are made of puzzle pieces. I am supposed to learn, to earn puzzle pieces and piece together a comprehensible story a understandable picture. I don't.

At the base of it all: I don't know. I don't understand. How could I have ever tried to how do I now and growing is all I don't know.
