Tossing this AU idea into the masses: Team RED, wanting to slow and inconvenience Belos as much as possible, launch a stealth mission and somehow come across the Collector’s disc. Of course, thanks to the measures Belos took, they’ve never seen it before and don’t know what it is - but they recognize how important it must be if Belos keeps it so near him. When the emperor is unaware, they take the disc with them. Only later when the Collector emerges out of sheer curiosity do the trio realize oh, Titan, we’ve just smuggled an actual child out of the palace.
After that, they gain a new side mission: keep the Collector as far away from Belos as possible.
I’m sick of shows using characters prying through each other’s personal stuff as a plot device and rarely addressing it. They completely dismiss the fact that it’s a breach of trust and invasion of privacy in doing so. But of course “iT’S jUSt A ShOW”.
I just love how this show crafted this arc to clearly emphasise the importance of respecting each other’s boundaries in a relationship (YES THAT NEEDS TO BE IN BOLD).
Amity could’ve easily sneaked a peek at the video to find answers. She could’ve easily done it. Luz’s phone was right in her hands. And the sad thing is that if she did do it, most of us would’ve overlooked it because we’re so used to that plot device being constantly used in general.
But what they showed us is that Amity had a choice. She could pry and then talk to Luz about it. Or she could just talk to Luz about it anyways without prying. Honestly, whatever you do the end result is the same: you end up talking to the other person about it. But the difference in both paths is that you’re breaching someone else’s trust in one.
Amity didn’t pry. She reassured her that too. Amity chose to respect Luz’s boundaries and privacy here. And she approached Luz gently about it at the right time and moment. She didn’t even push Luz into even giving her side of the story. She only worded her concerns.
The kind of representation of relationships that involves healthy communication and acknowledgement of boundaries is exactly what the world needs more of. Media representation is so important in the way it can influence the morals that the viewers are passively being injected with. Especially in a show where the target demographic is children and has to focus around morals.
Seriously, bless this show for it’s wholesome and healthy rep! Bless it! The world needs more of that.
So. I’ve been living under a rock and apparently have not gone onto any social media because I didn’t know anything was up. I knew the Owl House and Amphibia were coming out on March 19th and that was it.
But today I went on social media. And saw the promo. And Dana’s spoilers on Twitter. And I’m literally going to throw up I am so FREAKING EXCITED. This is just me fangirling hard.
Like let’s start off with Dana on Twitter, shall we?
I’m sobbing my heart is so happy look at my precious bean he’s all fancy.
I’m so worried but also Luz does not look like she is taking any of Hunter’s shenanigans and I am HERE for their dynamics.
PROTECT HER AT ALL COSTS LOOK AT HER GLASSES AND HER ENTHUSIASM WE STAN OUR ARO LILITH YOU GO HONEY
If anyone, and I mean anyone, hurts these girls, I will reach through my screen and throttle them.
Steve, you absolute BUFFOON you’re killing me here.
I literally can’t talk about the promo enough but also briefly I am going to throw it all out there quickly because I am just so excited and I need this now.
- Willow’s new hair style because the pigtails are beautiful
- Hunter being a Hexside student and being in the potions track
- Luz wearing Eda’s jacket and having a semi new hairstyle with the hair in front of her face
- RAINE. Possible Raine and Eda originally enemies
- Maybe Eda fighting for Raine
- Harpy Eda but also sexy harpy Eda
- King’s family maybe?
- Lilith having her hair in a little bonnet style thing
I am just so overwhelmed and thrilled and absolutely excited that I am going to be sick it’s wonderful but also Saturday is going to come and I am going to sob from sheer joy.
