Devastated to learn of the death of British icon and chef Dave Myers, best known for his run as one half of national treasures, The Hairy Bikers.
Dave passed away from cancer at age 66 on the 28th of February 2024, surrounded by family and his dear friend and other half of his culinary duo, Si King.
Dave and Si have provided the nation with wonderful recipes, gorgeous views of England and the world, and invaluable advice since their first show aired in 2004.
Dave will be deeply missed by the nation and all who loved him.
I started watching Ralph & Katie and it's so so wholesome
It's much lighter than The A Word being a spin-off romance drama about the titled newlyweds, complete with good comedy touches and it's just refreshing to see representation of people with Down Syndrome in everyday life instead of them being othered and exploited for inspiration porn.
If you want some good sweet unwind-tv I highly recommend
Just found out they're axing CBBC in 2025 and I'm devastated
If you don't know CBBC is a kids TV channel funded by the BBC and shows many educational shows for kids.
For me growing up CBBC was pretty much the only TV channel I watched. I learned so much from it too. Practically every kid in Britain can name all the monarchs from 1066 thanks to Horrible Histories, we learned about how bodies work thanks to Operation Ouch, they got kids involved in current news with Newsround and showed us all sorts of little things to do with How To Be Epic At Everything.
During lockdown they even had educational programming during the school day for kids without internet. These were vital for me and my sister as our WiFi was down for weeks and we had no way of doing school work.
To get rid of this NOW of all times with an ONLINE SERVICE after everything CBBC has done to help kids without access to the internet is a punch to the gut.
I'm so angry right now
If anyone knows anything we can do to get them to realise this is an awful idea then please tell me cause I'm not about to let this happen
