Here are so DOs and DON’Ts for when giving a presentation: DO - Remember that ‘Proper Planning Prevents Poor Presentations’! - Check any equipment that you're using before the presentation. - Have ‘cue cards’ with key words to help you if you forget your place in the presentation. - Have a strong introduction: thank your audience for coming; introduce yourself and the topic of your presentation; and tell the audience what exactly you will be talking about (“First, I will talk about... Then I will talk about... Finally, I will discuss....”). - A polite way to stop people interrupting you is: “If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them at the end.” - Face the audience at all times, making eye contact (but not too much!) with different members. - Avoid nervous fidgeting, e.g. playing with your hair. - Even if you are terrified, fake being confident. Smiling is a friendly way to show that you are confident and in control. - Speak loud enough. You could ask the people at the back if they can hear and see you at the beginning. - Have a strong ending, summarising the main points of your presentation. - Remember: tell them what you’re going to say, then say it, then tell them what you’ve just said! DON’T - Forget this: “Fail to prepare, prepare to fail!” - Write a script to read in the presentation. - Hide behind a piece of paper when speaking. - Have too much text on your slides. If you do, people will read that and NOT listen to you. - Stand with your back to the audience when you refer to the slides. - Use language that people will not understand, e.g. jargon or acronyms. - Forget to turn your phone off or put it on silent mode. If you have any questions, please put them in the comments below and I will try to answer them! Please like, share and subscribe, to help Better English grow. How are you in Spanish is expressed differently in many ways just like in English, but one of the most common ways to say is ”how things go for you.” In Spanish and Japanese, there are distinguished terms that refer to ”you.” If you refer to your close friend whom you know already you can use “tú” -come te va- If you want to speak politely if the person is someone who you just met, then you refer him/her as “usted.” So the object becomes “le” instead of “te” associated with transitive verb “va.” Interesting thing is that “tú” is treated as the second person in Spanish verb conjugation but “usted” is considered as the third person just like he or she so that sometimes in order to distinguish “usted” from he or she, they would specify to “you” by adding “a usted.” If it is obvious with the context, you don’t need to add it. #spanish #español #flashcards #vocabulary #vocabulario #phrases #frases #word #palabras #bilingual #multilingual #usefulphrases #usefulwords #inspanish #スペイン語 #単語 #熟語 #フラッシュカード #単語帳 #語学 #learnspanish #studyspanish #5minutesaday #verbconjugation #spanishexponential #ryota #speakspanish (at Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/BwPuYfhHi5d/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1nlfzwvrp5gkr
