coworker and i were going back and forth with inappropriate, grimderp 40k humor. i mention kriegers under the bed. he shows me this, waiting expectantly for my soul to crumble. it was on my mind all day. amazing story, just fucking devastating. fucking salamanders, what did you do to my heart?

it's funny, with just the first 2 panels it can still be played for laughs by keeping the emotion at a distance. then the rug is pulled out from under you and you're beaten not with the rug but a hammer.

Do you know on a more positive note for the giggle? I think the writers missed a trick with you know saying something that would probably yes granted 30 and up would probably be the only ones to get it but thank you now, but they missed a golden opportunity for the Doctor to do Yu-Gi-Oh! The game or at least reference it. I mean think about it he’s playing with the Toymaker a game where the fate of the world is at stake. All he needs is a millennium puzzle and playing children’s cards games. No, it probably wouldn’t happen because of copyright pending but come on I need to someone seem make a fanfic or I’ll make it myself for someone references that. I mean for crying out loud Moffat mentioned Pokémon Go, so they are aware the anime exists.

Edit: or if they want to avoid anime, which, why would you it’s a treasure trove of references and fun this they could get people interested or at the very least get people interested in anime. They could’ve done the doctor saying “fine. We’ll have a table top game Warhammer 40 K.” And then spent the next several hours advancing their armies. Begs the what army would the Doctor have? The Tau? I can see him commanding Farsight’s army or if he wants to be checky Orks…

Boss fights and Bringing Down the House

Holy frick people this was one hell of fight.

Spider Climb and Hammer time:

Ok I kid you not, Wittr’s Player and I were researching for like a straight week, when we started piecing together that Karthos has a Vecna Relic, because researching it was terrifying.

So, Wittr has stacked a lot of damage on to her first attack since she was going to be handling Cassin the Nothic. (Wittr was part of a temple of Torm where when Cassin and his nothics attacked, made everyone in the temple go crazy and started attacking each other, Wittr was the last one standing and she swore to her god that she would get revenge on the thing that cause this.)

So, Cassin and Wittr are fighting, Blackthorn and his goons are going to fight the smaller nothics and that leaves Sage and Ben fighting K.

Ben, who is a Battle Master gave his allies an inspiration point to use (whatever the equivalent to bardic inspiration is.)

Ben tries to attack K but misses, then it’s Sage turn she uses her turn to prepare to be thrown by Wittr so she could try and go for the decay hand. After a while with the nothics and K attacking, Wittr takes her turn and hucks Sage (Sage use her last web arrow and entangles K.) Wittr then goes toe to toe with Cassin.  Wittr unleashes her attacks which if I remember correctly does like 40+ damage I think, she did a lot of damage.

When it gets to K’s turn, he manages to weaken Ben. Sage shooting her arrow lands prone and must wait for her turn to get up, what’s worst there was a nothic to Sage’s side, but before the battle Sage went ahead and activated her spores, so she could help weaken enemies.

Ben helped Sage up, Sage wild shaped into a Giant Wolf Spider so she could crawl up the webbing that she made on K and started to attack the left arm of K. Unfortune she couldn’t do much and Owain who is on her gets off a shot this his trusty slingshot.

Since Sage and Wittr have a BFF link to our pets, Sage tells Owain to go through the doors behind K and stay out of sight (Owain before the enter this boss fight, he only had 16 hp left and I didn’t want to have Owain die.) Sage tells Owain to keep an eye on the hallway and let her know if anything happens and she focuses on her fight.

Major Info Drop

After a few rounds with Blackthorn goons are really struggling to fight the nothics, and Sage, Wittr, Ben and Ohava are fighting the big bads of this encounter (I kid you not the only person beside Sage and Ben that did any damage on the normal nothics was Arron. He manages to kill one.)

During the fight K can levitate off the ground and instead of attacking Sage or Ben, he floats over to the center tank which he is using his magic to wake up the flowers that are in there. (The DM explains that these flowers are called Darkbloom and they come from a plane of darkness it unknown what they can do.)

Cassin at one point also tries to cast Sickness (which Wittr resists) but she does get heavily damaged by him. Wittr then witness that Cassin when he fails to cast the spells, he is holding his eye and it starts to bleed and then in his mutter Wittr hears him say “Worthless Eye of Venca.”

Both Players understand now that both K and Cassin have both artifacts and this artifact is hurting Cassin very badly. We understand that Cassin needs to be dealt with quickly and needs to get the eye out of K reach.

1 Down and 1 To Go

At one-point Wittr, being a straight Boss in this fight, manages to kill Cassin using her Warhammer to spilt him in two and beheading him. Wittr gets the idea to for the crown. The crown which is called the Crown of the Triad was a holy relic that Wittr Temple protected this crown was powering up the tanks so take away the fuel source and save and put at the tanks and flower out of business.

Wittr tries using her strength to rip the cage off the crown, but she was not strong enough, Ben comes over and wants to help her and so does Sage, but she also knows they need to get the eye, she tries to remove the eye in which the DM tells Sage she needs to make certain rolls she got 2/4 successes.

During this point K looks over and sees his son dead, Sage trying to remove the eye, K is beyond upset that his son is now dead. With his good hand has a piece of amber and he uses several spells to summon the eye to him. K also tells the group “Removing the crown is very unwise.”

 Also, at one point during the fight, Sage and Wittr were trying to figure out what would be the best course of attack, going after K or taking the Crown. Sage hears that voice, the voice of the decay the source of her Druid powers, the voice wanted her to take the crown for herself. Both players were shocked.

Sage yells to Wittr and Ben “He took the eye!” Heavily tried from using a lot of magic to get the eye, he then goes and says, “I will do everything, to bring my wife and son back from the dead.”

Arron who was sneaking up behind Cassin gets some powerful strikes on him, in this moment before he turns away from Sage, she sees him wave his hand over his good eye and the eye of Vecna is now in its place.

K turns to face Arron and uses Finger of Death and kills Arron. Blackthorn, after dealing with a nothic sees his son now dead, yells in anger.

With power of Wittr and she offers a prayer to her god and the celestial that was promised to help, that let this strike break the glass.

Wittr brings her Warhammer down with a mighty blow and the case breaks and so does the crown.

The DM explains when the crown and the case are broken a huge explosion takes out everyone, it’s like tunnel vision, the girls see Ben on the ground, the nothics and Blackthorn goons erupting in flames, Sage looks to K she sees his face burning off melting away.

New Adventures and where are our BABIES?!?!

Both girls then pass out, then they wake up in a field, and then the girls see Elyndor the ball of light that they have met in the Windcrest forest.

He explains that he manages to pull them out of that situation and explains that he needs our help with something that a witch has comes to the Faewilds and had bubbled off an area of it and is also starting to corrupt some other magic users. He also mentions Selena (bitch).

The girls ask did anyone else survive the fight, is K still alive, what about the eye and hand of Venca.

He answers that the prison is in ruins, and he can’t sense anyone, Sage remembers a phone call during the fight from Killian he manages to kill one of the Uggos, but the last one is proving to be difficult. She asks and describes both Uggo and Killian, Elydor explains that it hard to scry on things that belong to their certain plains so he can’t sense Killian, however Uggo was not a part of the material plain. That means both Uggos are from where else.  Sage prays that Killian is alright, she didn’t want to tell Eve she is now a widow.

Sage then remembers and looks around to find Ohava and Owain, they are not there. She immediately grabs Elydor and ask, “Where is my baby, where is Owain?” (I love my frog son and I care very deeply for him.)

Elydor explains that he did pull them from the fight as well, but he lost his grip on the rainbow bridge, and they are somewhere in the FaeWilds. (DM then says the pets get a One -shot).

So, trying to calm down, both girls agree to go to the Autumn court and present themselves to the Queen and get more information, and hopefully get a phone call to Mayor Gracefield. The DM explains that time runs differently here it’s been like 3-4 weeks since the girls has left Windcrest, here it’s been 8 months in the FaeWilds.

Player’s notes:

Ok I kid you not that during the week leading up to this fight both Wittr’s player and I were talking strategy every chance we got.

Also, we were also talking about what we were going to do with Blackthorn and his goons, as much as I don’t trust Fancy Dave with not bothering us, and he gave us weapons that did help us in our fight in the dungeons.

Sage told Dave she would not kill a man that has not really done anything wrong to her, but if he gets hurt she wont help him.

Wittr wanted to keep him alive thinking that he could be useful later.

During the course of the week, I was making pros and cons thing, there were a lot more cons than pros. (He also sent an assassin to Mayor Gracefield.)

So, both Sage and Wittr are now Level 8 (we gain two levels during this whole thing).
