Shoutout to people with trichotillomania. People with bald spots. People with patchy or no eyebrows. People with thin or no lashes. People with sores on their faces, their scalps, their legs, their arms, or everywhere. People who pull consciously, subconsciously, or both. People who can't swim or wear certain clothes because of trichotillomania. People whose trichotillomania causes them pain. People's whose trichotillomania doesn't. People who pull 24/7, people who don't or barely pull anymore. People who want to get better and people who don't. People who visibly have it and people who don't. People who are open about their trichotillomania, and people who aren't. You're doing amazing however you handle it. You are beautiful regardless of your hair and how you feel about it. You are beautiful regardless your urges. You are beautiful and worthy of love. I'm proud of you.

TWO soulmates who met through ONE Hyacinth🪻
Tumblr media
I must say that sometimes in the most challenging hours of life, a ray of light suddenly enters and caresses me.
My sweet Hyacinth introduced me to a princess from another planet, on the other side of the universe.
And as I try to hold on to the faith, Hyacinth is pictured to me as that figure full of sparks of hope that promises me better days, no matter how I feel now.
Even in gray and difficult days that I go through in my daily life, in the currently war, in the complex relationship with my family, at work, or in any other field, Hyacinth brightens my day and proves to me that imagination is stronger than anything.
And more than that, maybe it will sound strange to you… but he brought me together with one amazing friend from a far country across the ocean. And today we visit each other's kingdoms, and our worlds have met each other.
As if two lost soul mates found each other after years of distance. Maybe like Tinkerbell and Periwinkle, you might say.
I’m thankful so much for getting to know you, my princess 🌷✨🤗
You bright my day and always make me smile 😊🌈✨
Thanks to you, I am learning to recognize my powers of imagination and understand that there are other people with a magical inner world like mine and yours.
Hyacinth must be proud of us🤭🪻💖🤗✨🌈
My twin sister from the Sun kingdom @genevieveskingdom 💖
You are the proof of kindness in the world.👸

I love you long Jewish noses. I love you crooked Jewish noses. I love you hooked Jewish noses. I love wide Jewish noses. I love you pointed Jewish noses.
Don't let anyone tell you your nose is anything but beautiful. Don't let anyone tell you that you need to change your nose because you look "too Jewish." Be proud of your Jewish nose!

MAMA
she is beautiful. she is my mother.
she has gifted me her eyes and her laugh. blessed me with her smile and her voice. i am all she is and more and yet she is still all i aspire to be. i see her when i look in the mirror, my face a replica of hers. i push down my self loathing and my insults aimed at the woman in the reflection who looks back at me. i wont say them, no, not to her.
because she is beautiful. she is my mother.

idk if this is a problematic take but i would like to embrace how happy i can be as a fully realized trans woman sometimes, rather than always focusing on how bad things are for us in this country. like yes there's a lot to be scared of but the whole point of this is finding and celebrating who you are. don't forget to celebrate now and then.

Went to see a movie, here are my thoughts for those who are willing to read
(SPOILERS, PLEASE DON'T LOSE THE PLEASURE OF WATCHING IT FIRST YOURSELF)
1. Went to see Barbie today, not gonna lie it was one of the best movies I've watched since I think Puss in Boots: Last Wish
2. It's a movie that makes you tear up both from sadness and happiness
3. I love women. This film really shows the beauty of solidarity and fighting together for us to be treated as we should: with equal respect and importance
4. I just love how sooooo many cishet men were so mad and grrrrr rumbly that how dare a movie (based on dolls and feminism and flaws of our society and patriarchal system) dares to not be made specifically for them
5. I've also seen an opinion somewhere that it shows not only obvious idiocy of patriarchy but also matriarchy. And with that, I strongly agree, here are the couple of situations to visualise it:
While Barbies have various important, impactful roles (shown in the movie with doctors, noble prize winners, astronauts, fully female supreme court, president), Kens fulfill only most basic and trivial positions like just being a beach himbo. Sounds very, very, very familiar (with reversed sexes) when you think about stereotypical, male-centered media, no?
In one of the earlier scenes, the Weird Barbie makes an unsavoury "compliment" about Ken's nether regions, which is an obvious example of cat-calling and objectification
One of the scenes near the ending feels so much like something you'd say when women finally gained the ability to have some even slightly significant roles: you won't get access to the supreme court buuuut we'd allow you to rule in something local (later followed by the narrator's: and Kens were happy, maybe one day they'd get as much power as women have in the real world)
6. Ordinary. Barbie. It made my eyes create a freaking waterfall! Just because you're not a doctor, carrier oriented, mother, super duper smart, pretty, charismatic does not make you any less of a woman. There's no need to prove yourself to deserve respect!
7. And finally, the real real tear-jerker, if the last point was a waterfall, this one is like 10 waterfalls. When Barbie stands with Ruth Handler (her creator, Barbie's name is based on her real-life daughter, Barbara), and she closes her eyes to finally see what humanity and womanhood is... The visions of so so so many women: babies, young girls, workers, doctors, mothers, wives...
Being a woman is hard. Being a woman requires you to endure challenges always everywhere: double standards, sexism (not only ideological), never being on the winning position (if you present yourself modestly you lose, if you're more "openly" presenting you lose, if you're too thin you lose, if you're too fat you lose, if you're focused on the career you lose, if you want to be a homemaker you lose and many many more).
Being a woman is beautiful. Being a woman is empowering.
And I'm not only talking about cis women! Any person who identifies as a woman goes through these struggles and most importantly
DESERVE TO BE TREATED WITH RESPECT
-🍓

We're not appreciating the Weird Barbie enough. It's said in the movie that she helps everyone who need help while they always see her as someone who's not as good as them. She was friends with all dismissed Barbies and Kens, was there to offer support and safe shelter for everyone who needed it in Kendom, without her nothing in the movie would've been alright. When Stereotypical Barbie calls her "ugly and unwanted" she still helps her.
She was representing a woman in women's world who was pushed aside by other women because she didn't fit in but still had more wisdom and kindness than everyone who thought they're better than her.

why is religious Christmas imagery all so joyful and pleasant? where is the inherent horror of the birth of Christ? A mother is handed her newborn child, wailing and innocent. Her hands come away sticky. Red. Simply by giving her son life she has already killed him. He is doomed from the beginning. Her love will not save him from suffering. Because the thing cradled in her arms is not a baby, it is a sacrifice: born amongst the other bleating animals whose blood will one day be spilled in the name of what demands it. the night is silent with anticipation. Mary, did you know? That your womb was also a grave?

for anyone too young to know this: watching The Truman Show is a vastly different experience now, compared to how it was before youtube and social media influencers became normal
before it was like, "what a horrifying thing to do to a human being! to take away their autonomy and privacy, all for the sake of profits! to create fake scenarios for them to react to, just to retain viewership! to ruin their happiness just so some corporate entity could harvest money from their very humanity! how could anyone do something so evil?"
and now it's like, "ah, yeah. this is still deeply fucked up, but it's pretty much what every influencer has been doing to their kids for a decade now. probably bad that we've normalized this experience"
