people who pick on other people for liking a music genre in a different language is so stupid. like imagine being a french citizen and you tell people you listen to arianna grande (idk i named a mainstream artist here in america) and they just start mocking you because it’s in english and how do you understand it.

as someone who had k-pop as their top genre this year and last year, it’s kinda sad to see how much people will just ignore the fact that the music hits so hard because of the fact that it’s in another language. i don’t listen to most american pop songs/songs in english for the lyrics now do i? no. i listen to hear a bunch of 20 somethings sing about some silly thing like the money they’re making or the fact that they’re in love or something. sometimes i can’t even understand what artists over here are saying because of autotune. i don’t listen to music just for the lyrics and nobody my age does either, so frankly im just doing the same as they are.

and then we get to people making stereotypes based on what they have seen online or in person when it comes to people who like a certain genre. i don’t tell every rap enjoyer that they clearly see down want to be a college frat boy who flirts with the teachers who o try and get good grades. i don’t tell a rock fan that they’re truly just an incel and they need to stop thinking so badly of women. why don’t i do that? because not all fans of everything are the same. sure, there are a handful of fans in the k-pop community that are truly trying to be korean in a cultural appropriation sense. but that’s not all of us. some of us (myself included) listen to it because it’s GOOD MUSIC made by TALENTED PEOPLE.

sorry idk but the way the world is so fast and the people in it still want it to be faster is sooo annoying to me. people groaning while standing in line for 3 minutes people being mad the train ride is gonna take 2 hours people complaining that the bus is a few minutes late people being angry that construction work is taking months even though it used to take decades. don't you see the world is already so so so fast in every single aspect can't you understand that being mad will do nothing and just make your mood worse. enjoy the moments of stillness you're given. just stand in line and look at the people around you. sit on the train and watch the scenery. you'll get there.
