This is my petty complaint time, this video annoys me SO MUCH and even more so what annoys me is that the latest comment on it is this:
Tumblr media
HE TAUGHT YOU SO MUCH BULLSHIT, PLEASE NO, DON'T LISTEN TO HIM
And yes, I've been thinking about this stream for nearly three years now, I've been meaning to go through it to critique Wilbur's arguments, I just never got around to it
Wilbur: "Tubbo, you've created an anti-state capitalist dystopia"
So all Tubbo had explained so far was that his town had a big company that owned two other big companies. Nothing about the government or anything. It's true that one company owning all the major businesses is pretty dystopian, sure, but I have no idea where Wilbur got the "anti-state" thing from, usually capitalist companies are fine with the existence of states, states do a lot of dirty work for the capitalists
Spoiler alert: Tubbo's city turns out to be pretty much a city state so Wilbur is just wrong anyway, not that he ever acknowledges it even when it does come up
Also it's not like corporate acquisitions are completely unheard of in the UK, as far as I know. Admittedly the UK is also arguably a capitalist dystopia but you know what I mean, the concept shouldn't be all that shocking to Wilbur
He's being so dramatic and trying to make it sound like he's caught Tubbo in a mistake or something. He also keeps asking questions and then not letting Tubbo answer properly before taking like one word Tubbo says and running with it
But this is the one that I find the most obnoxious:
T: "I did some research into like economics and stuff and I discovered this thing called UBI, have you heard of it?"
W: "What's it stand for?"
T: "Universal Basic Income"
W: "Yeah, I know about that"
He clearly does not know what UBI is.
It becomes very apparent very quickly:
W: "So you've got universal basic income but then also the rich exist still?"
T: "Yeah! Yeah they do."
W: "How does that come about then,"
T: "So in my mind--"
W: "is this universal basic income different for different people?"
T: "No, no, the universal basic income is better for everyone, just the people who have--"
W: "In order for there to be a 1% that means someone's earning more,"
T: "Yes, someone is earning more"
W: "but that means the universal basic income isn't universal!"
T: "No no no, not everyone's getting paid the same but everyone gets the same to begin with, okay? But then you can build on top of it."
W: "Oh no, you've got a-- Tubbo, you've got a fucking social point system!"
T: "Have I made a social point system??"
W: "Tubbo, you've made China!"
None of what Wilbur says makes ANY sense here. The only explanation I can think of is that he didn't know what UBI was, made an assumption that it just meant "everybody gets paid the same amount of money" or something like that and then just spoke fast enough that Tubbo couldn't correct him
Tubbo is correct here, Tubbo knows what he's talking about, but he can't out-speak Wilbur who is just throwing so much bullshit out of his mouth that there's no time to even respond
So, UBI means that everyone in the society gets a regular payment of a specific amount of money that's the same for everyone regardless of their life situation (and generally a requirement would be that it has to be enough to live on, altho people do like to water this down a lot...) This would be completely irrelevant to your wages or salary or capital gains. You can choose to either live on the UBI or you can just do the regular capitalist things to earn extra money on top of the UBI
Obviously I'm not one of those people who think that UBI would solve all of world's problems, I mean I am an anarchist and all (and not an ancap either), but it's literally just a very streamlined welfare system. That's all. It would probably be a lot better than the current models we have but it's not fundamentally different. There's nothing particularly weird about it, the point is just to make sure that everyone has enough money to live on, in every other regard it's just normal capitalism
Wilbur completely misunderstands the whole thing (because, again, he does not know what UBI is so he's just trying to imagine what it might mean based on what Tubbo is saying) and jumps immediately to something he apparently has heard of, which is the Chinese social credit system, which has nothing to do with UBI. In fact I'm pretty sure it also doesn't actually have anything to do with income either, or at least not directly, so I don't think Wilbur knows what the social credit system is either
He's literally just talking in buzzwords
Like if you actually wanted to make a leftist critique of Tubbo's city, you could, don't get me wrong. But instead Wilbur keeps insisting that he's made a social point system despite Tubbo trying to explain why it's not that at all
Wilbur just keeps yelling over Tubbo until his own chat turns against him and finally Tubbo himself also kinda gives up
And from there Tubbo also kinda just starts playing into the bit and just lets Wilbur direct the whole conversation, the rest of it is just them getting more and more into the roleplay. Wilbur keeps talking about the state pension plan, even though Tubbo already tried to explain that it's part of the UBI (this actually is how UBI is supposed to work, it does indeed streamline most of the welfare spending! Obviously you can still raise questions about that (I can think of a few at least) but Wilbur didn't let Tubbo explain so I have no idea what Tubbo actually had in mind)
I could try to go through all of what Wilbur says here but it's just too much, so maybe some other time. Although to be honest there are so many other streams that I probably should talk about instead that some fans unfortunately took a bit too seriously because they assumed Wilbur knew what he was talking about
My point here is mainly that just because someone sounds really confident and knows a bunch of buzzwords doesn't mean they know what they're talking about.

Now, bear with me here, because this is going to sound a little bit random.
My first few months of the DSMP were experienced entirely through Wilbur's eyes. Wilbur was the only streamer I watched. And I watched him because he was destructive and dramatic and underhand, right from the beginning, and that was entertaining to me.
See, the thing is, when I first became invested in the DSMP, I wasn't watching it like a traditional "story". I wasn't weighing up morality and character development like I would with a movie or TV show. I was watching the DSMP like a livestream. And in streams, you want that constant, fast-paced sense of entertainment—or at least, I did—and that's the kind of entertainment that often comes from causing chaos. I never saw c!Wilbur as the good guy, but I sure as hell was rooting for him! I gravitated more towards instigators than peacemakers because instigators are inherently more chaotic, which in my eyes made them more interesting.
Later on, I think it's also the same part of my brain that was responsible for a lot of my more deranged c!Quackity "apologism" (which I still happily partake in to this day, naturally). I began watching Quackity because he was chaotic and destructive and therefore making shit happen. That's how it works: the more intrigued I am by a character's chaos, the more I watch them; the more I watch them, the more sympathy I feel towards them. I think it's natural that you can better understand someone's motivations and struggles the more time you spend inside their head. But crucially, the sympathy for a chaotic character never outweighs the chaos—if it did, I wouldn't find them as interesting anymore! Because the chaos was the whole reason I started watching them in the first place.
And I just can't help but wonder if that's where certain groups of fans are coming from sometimes, when they'll defend a character without acknowledging or accepting any wrongdoing that character might have committed. It's what happens when the sympathy does start to out outweigh the initial chaos that made you start watching from that character's perspective. As the server shifted from primarily funny clip farm to primarily complex drama, it's understandable that the viewers' focus would switch from laughing along with a character to empathizing with them—but by that time, by the time you start seeing the story as a story rather than a stream, you can forget all about that destruction that drew you to the character in the first place.
I don't know. Just some thoughts.

Who might be Tinky's and Blinky's prophets ?
So, I adhere to the theory that each Lord in Black has a prophet. It goes with the whole "God" thing and most of them have known ones, so it isn't a stretch to assume they all have. The problem is....who are Tinky's and Blinky's ?
I mean, we the answer is obvious for the rest of them. Wiggly has Linda and Wilbur; Pokey has (the very unwilling) Paul and the (much more willing) Otho; Nibbly has Roman Murray, Linda's father; and Webby has Hannah as her prophet.
But the other two ?
Tinky's prophets would be the Spankoffski brothers ? Not completely impossible, it would make sense even. But they really feel more like well, toys to him. All the other prophet seems to be somewhat respected by their patron in a weird way.
By that I mean that their lords give them an actual goal (feed me, bigger the hive, sell dolls, ect), a task to expend their domain. What are the brothers really doing to expand Tinky's powers, concretely ? So yeah, I am doubtful about them. Not impossible. If that theory is right, they are the more likely to be the canon ones. But I really don't see it.
For Blinky, it's completely up in the air ! I mean, we know he is the most sadistic. So, someone who is either really good at making people suffer or is just a complete punching bag with a freaking dramatic life ? He is also the One with a Thousand Eyes, so someone that is in a position to gain plenty of information on a lot of people ? Alice and Bill ? They where his victims in Watcher World, but I doubt Blinky would want them after Alice shot him. Grace Chasity then ?
She's my best guess, actually. We know she ends up working for the Lords at the end. Being one of the nerdy prudes, I'd say she saw a lot of suffering, even if she didn't receive any (the apex bully having a big crush on her does help). Also, her religiousness. She believes in the eternal suffering in Hell of those who go against her faith. She killed who knows how many dudes because of it. Although she had good intentions, she created the rumours that brought Stephanie to camp Idontwannafuck. Also, the whole "God is watching over our actions" thing that goes with her faith. No, really she'd be a real possible candidate.
Or I might be completely wrong and they are characters that are not even introduced yet !
Either way, it is just a theory.Though, I am curious on who you might think they are ? :)

thinking about the planned/never executed dsmp timeloop ending again
and how everything makes so much more sense because of it.
thinking about how it explains the way it's a land beyond time, where their technology is still that of crossbows and swords but there's also vehicles (drug/burger van) and screens/computers (las nevadas).
thinking about how tales of the smp makes 100000x more sense with it. thinking about how wilbur didnt have a room in mizu because he could've removed himself from the loop by leaving the smp and going to utah (theory from @/idkwatthehec !!)
thinking about how it actually fixes the nuke ending,, to an extent.
thinking about how every character's story just has that much more impact, because they're so intrinsically Themselves and they've likely lived out similar arcs many times before since it's just the way that they and the people around them Are.
thinking about how such minor details, such as removing one person or object, could dramatically change the loop's course.
thinking about how much more terrifying the idea of limbo is after that. does it reset with the rest of the smp? does it exist beyond the loop? etc.
thinking about how, if wilbur was able to leave and escape to utah, does the loop extend outwards to the rest of the world, or is it just an isolated thing inside the smp? and what this would mean for the extent of drmxd's power
thinking about characters forgetting, but their souls remembering the tiniest things. tommy still getting a feeling of dread when he's near tnt. tubbo still jumping a little harder than normal around fireworks. ranboo getting an odd sense of sick deja vu when he sees obsidian.
eggpire-affected people having a sort of guilt that they can't understand the source of or why it follows them.
we couldve had it so good guys

The Cat And His Golden Retriever
A Wilbur Soot and Mark Boardman story! Not a ship!!!
Tumblr media
Wilbur sat in the corner his legs pulled up to his chest and his head buried in his arms. He heard someone sit down next to him but didn't bother to check. He felt a hand on his shoulder a comforting hand something he had felt before. He looked next to him and saw his friend Mark Boardman who flashed him and friendly smile. The drummer looked concerned that was obvious but Wilbur smiled back. "What up you prick!" Wilbur joked playfully prodding Marks side. Mark jumped and wrapped his arms around his waist giggling. "Nothing just wanted to check on you man and will you stop prodding my side?" Mark chuckled his smile never leaving. Marks smile brought light to everyone he always looks so happy. It made Wilburs anxiety and worries leave right away. Wilbur smirked and added a smart remark "stop being ticklish" he punched Marks arm playfully giggling at Marks expression. "Yeah like I can magically just do that. You are so lucky man you grew out of it. I'm stuck with it forever and it sucks cause you and the other guys torture me!" Mark dramatically complained to Wilbur his pour acting making the singer laugh more. Mark was also good at making people laugh he was good at it Ash taught him a few tricks though. Wilbur smirked as he replied "your saying that like you don't care when we do it cause we all have fun! You are literally a golden retriever Mark honestly it's quite cute actually!" Wilbur laughed when Marks face turned more red then it already was. "Well I like when y'all are happy and if it takes me being tortured then that's what it takes!" Mark smiled then added "And I take pride in being the golden retriever! If I'm the golden retriever your the cat! I mean it makes sense right?" Mark tilted his head to the side and gave a chuckle. Wilbur thought about it for a moment then smiled widely. "Oh wait it does man that's bloody brilliant!" Wilbur answered and Mark smiled brightly at him. Marks happiness spreads a long ways Wilbur completely forgot what he was so stressed about. Mark giggled at Wilburs wide smile that he returned to the drummer. "What are you laughing at!" Wilbur spoke prodding Marks side with every word. The drummer giggled as he tried to grab at Wilburs hands. "Hey quit it you bloody prick!" Mark giggled obviously not meaning the insults. (Not that it sounded like he did anyway) suddenly Ash and Joe walked in and stopped in the tracks and looked at the sight. Mark and Wilbur both giggling and spending time like kids. Mark hopelessly batting at Wilburs hands and Wilbur just poking the poor drummer. Ash and Joe looked at each other and shrugged they completely abandoned their bags. They ran over to join the fun between the golden retriever and the cat. Wilbur was stress free, Mark was laughing and smiling, Joe was laughing at the two, and Ash was giggling at Marks reactions. Wilbur loved his friends and the band they created. The golden retriever and the cat had a lot of fun once again!

Eret: Go to Hell.
Ant, tearing up: I wish I could.
-
(A younger Phil and teenage Techno talking)
Phil: Jail is no fun. I'll tell you that much.
Techno: Oh, you've been?
Phil: Once. In Monopoly.
-
Eret: God, give me patience.
Ant: I think you mean 'give me strength'.
Eret: If God gave me strength, you'd be dead.
-
Skeppy: You're the love of my life and my best friend, I would do anything for you.
Bad: I want you to eat three meals a day and have a decent sleep schedule.
Skeppy: Absolutely not.

-
Wilbur: Am I going too far?
Techno: No, no, no. You went too far about seven years ago. Now you're going to prison.
-
Tommy: You f*ckers don’t know about my knife stick. It’s a knife taped to a stick and it’s the ultimate weapon.
Techno, not looking up from his book: Spear.
Tommy: BLOCKED.

Wilbur: You're right.
Techno: That's... That's an unusual phrase for you. Did you just learn it?

Purpled: In light of what you did for me, you can hug me for four to five seconds.
Tommy: FORTY FIVE SECONDS?!?
Purpled: No! Four to five seconds!
Tommy: Too late!!!
-
Techno: If there's going to be a big dramatic scene, wait until I get back.
Phil: Of course. I can't flip this table by myself.
-
Dream: Someone will die.
Sapnap: Of fun!
-
Niki: How many kids do you have?
Phil: Biologically, emotionally, or legally?
-
Hannah: I'm 10 times funnier and sexier than you.
Sam: 10 times 0 is still 0 though.
Hannah: Joke's on you, I can't do math.
-
Ranboo: Do you take constructive criticism?
Purpled: I only take cash or credit.
-
Wilbur: So that's my plan.
Kristin: Are you alright with constructive criticism? I don't want to sound mean.
Wilbur: No, go ahead, I want to hear it.
Kristin: It f*cking sucks.
Wilbur: That's not constructive criticism.
-
Niki: I prevented a murder today.
Puffy: Really? How'd you do that?
Niki: self control.
-
Hannah: Look. I may not be a saint, but it's not like I've killed anybody. I'm not an arsonist. I've never found a wallet outside of an IHOP and thought about returning it but saw the owner lived out of state so just took the cash and dropped the wallet back on the ground.
Sam: Okay, that's really specific, and that makes me think that you definitely did do that.
-
Techno: We need a distraction.
Phil: Is anyone here good at jumping up and down and making weird noises?
Clingyduo, whispering: Our time has come.
-
Ranboo: What time is it?
Tommy: I don't know, pass me that saxophone and we’ll find out.
Tommy: (Plays sax loudly and extremely out of tune)
Jack: WHO THE F*CK IS PLAYING THE SAXOPHONE AT TWO IN THE MORNING?!
Ranboo:
Tommy: It’s 2 A.M.
-
Tubbo: What do you think Eryn and Aimsey will do for a distraction?
Ranboo: They'll probably, like, make a noise or throw a rock. That’s what I would do.
(Building explodes and several car alarms go off)
Ranboo: ... Or they could do that.
-
Hannah, trying to ask Tina out: Would you like to stay for dinner?
Connor, hanging upside down from the ceiling: WOULD YOU LIKE TO STAY FOREVER?
-

Are you like, still ok with dsmp lore/character analysis asks? Cause i want your thoughts around sam real bad but don't wanna be rude.
If you're still ok w those kinda asks but dont wanna write a bunch just saying where on the spectrum between vilifier and apologist you are would be really cool too! (Gonna take a wild guess that you're somewhere near a critical sympathizer? Like you understand why he did stuff n dont think hes evil but still think he made very immoral choices or something)
brah ur good. i dont mind dsmp asks at all!! also im glad u asked.
this is gonna be long oops
c!sam is one of the only characters where i have nearly full faith in regarding authorial intent, for starters. Sam The Dude (bringing that back) is obviously very self aware of his characters morally ambiguous and sometimes straight up ethically bankrupt actions, and everything he does with consideration for his character and the plot makes sense to me up until. Well.. c!sam's prison arc. But all of the consequences of that arc are still up in the air and I still stand by sam's understanding of the metatextual implications of his characters actions. Because oh boy does sam GET CONSEQUENCES. However for now I'm keeping my distance from that until we get some more c!hotelduo shit.
I think Sam The Guy is an expert at writing his character's hypocrisy compared to, say, c!techno's. C!Techno does things selfishly and impulsively, and doubles down on the decisions he makes regardless of how destructive or hurtful they are to anyone who isn't him or his friends. This is largely in part perpetuated by his character never reaping the consequences of those actions. That's a fact, not an opinion. So his hypocrisy in relation to his principles (his hatred for any form of government) feels antagonistic and almost goofy when you realize that makes him the defacto government, if he is to be the judge jury and executioner of the smp's organized communities. See the syndicate and snowchester or literally any ctechno stream post bedrockbros arc.
Now look at C!Sam. Sam does everything to follow HIS principles, but has extremely little regard for himself and other people, aside from C!Tommy. While attempting to make things more safe, his downfall lies in that code becoming an obsession, leading to him to justify mutilating his ex and stopping tommy from killing dream in C!wilburs revival stream for the sake of containing the real threat. And most notably, we figure out that sam somehow found out about c!ranboo's association with c!dream, which is a concept that explains a myriad of fatal errors with pandora's vault security and some experiences inside it. C!Sam killing c!ranboo is awful, sure, but there's this thing called DRAMATIC IRONY, where we know it wasn't truly c!Ranboo (debatable, given how ranboo The Guy abandoned his damn character) who carried out the plan with the explosives that lead to c!tommy's death and subsequent revival, but c!sam doesn't. And once again, the cycle of violence is repeated. However, for all these things, C!Sam faces dire punishments. Probably more than any character on the server.
C!Ponk and c!sam will probably never heal their relationship. As much as C!sam may regret it or feel remorse for hurting them, c!ponk has every right to be scornful and hold resentment towards him for the rest of their lives. C!tommy, someone c!sam has held dear throughout the entire show and arguably values the most, HATES him and never wants to see him again after his incidents. C!tubbo and his murder squad put him in the prison HE OVERSAW SECURITY FOR.... punishments left and right at this point.
And this is why his character and his hypocrisy are more tragic to me. All of this comes to a head when C!dream, someone he shouldn't even feel remorse towards, kills him after he wakes him up to his own cruelty and murders him for the keycards. C!Sam is constantly hurting himself and others and being brutally punished afterwards, without learning much, because he feels like his principles justify his actions. But now he has no need for these principles, since the prison has been rendered obsolete and he's lost everyone he wants to protect.
Which is why I feel his redemption arc would be the most rewarding at this point in the story. He seems to finally be recognizing his errors. sam feels like the type of character to not want this guilt to destroy him more than it already has, and if I had control over this story, or even the room with sam The Guy, I'd ask him to start with c!tommy. His redemption starts back at the beginning: protecting this kid from a monster. Except this time, he does it right, and he does it because he not only cares for him, but he owes it to him, as both the adult and as someone who is distinctly aware of c!tommy's suffering at the hands of c!dream.

The scene with Quackity offering Wilbur the vice presidency in the needle, seemingly out of nowhere, has been stuck in my mind since quite ago.
And so I've been keeping this on my notes for a while now, but I think it's worth analyzing that scene to build Qs pov in HO16 and his mindset through LN streams. Even more important if it settled up how screwed he'd be on the increasing downfall following the burger arc.
Yeah so, the first time reading HO16 I couldn't get why did Q decide to do so in the first place, leaving a proposal that huge out of the blue that couldn't be taken just as an act of generosity of any sort, doesn't seem like a decision from someone that protective unless feeling he had the upper hand in the situation, as we've seen after. So the first answer I came up with is that it was a taunt, a whole plan set to make Wilbur feel deeply embarrassed as a way to take some sort of revenge on him.
But it seemed weird coming from someone whose main motto is moral justice, Wilbur had never been that cruel to make him want to develop such a situation and make him hurt that much.
And yes, throughout his whole character's arc he kept acting on "give others what they deserve" and "treat others as they treat you".
But it's interesting how this discourse goes along with how he treats the people on the hit list while taking revenge on them. With dream and techno, he longs for making them feel persecuted in such a raw way that paralyzes, as a helpless prey. While at meeting with Schlatt (and at his funeral), the topics of consumption and dehumanization are way more prominent considering the nature of their relationship, and how it ended.
Dream and techno made him feel like a frightened animal and Schlatt, as a low class of a person, a useless accessory.
But the relationship with Wilbur is different. Although still quite driven by resentment, he still has really good memories with the man and how positively he changed his life. That's why I can't view his behaviour in the needle reunion as completely spite-driven, it wouldn't explain why he is confused about Wilbur's reaction to the deal if he planned the whole thing. Q thought Wilbur would do some resistance but not as strong to make him decline, he did expect having Wilbur as his vice.
Which, doesn't make sense alone, but with the context of weeks where they've been doing this routine of bickering each other, spiting one another with almost harmless taunts, and reminiscing of the good times for quite a while. At least, time enough to make them both feel comfortable with playing along (just look how easy he agrees on following Wilbur to the van, knowing how over defensive he could get).
It does change the nature of his proposal, Quackity lowkey wanted to keep him near as well.
Ok, but the mockery was still there, not as harmful in intentions but still- Why taking any sort of ""revenge"" on him as well? Well...
*** (This comes mainly from Q's kinda more dramatic point of view) ***
— He was denied to belong to a nation, a community, he'd learned to love so dearly.
Outcasted not only because of not being British/part of the original cast (that one is emphasized as a tangible symbol more than the whole reason) but because of what he valued (the ingenue morale he had, his ideas of bettering the nation, the desire to make a difference) and what others thought he was capable of (the comic relief, Wilbur didn't think of him as a real threat at the start, "Let's prove them wrong")
"Wilbur showed him L'Manberg, the principles of a community, a home, the first piece of camaraderie and togetherness he stuck to; but which was denied to him."
— When he thought Wilbur saw him as an equal, with the respect enough to recognize each other's ambition and care, Wilbur goes and proposes a deal where he'll be most likely out of the big picture, taking him of a fool. "We could have been a coalition"
"His attempts at making Wilbur notice his value were nothing, he felt ridiculous for even trying."
— When everyone won L'Manberg back, Wilbur decided to destroy it because it didn't align with his version of L'Manberg.
"As if L'Manberg was only his to being with, fucking selfish."
— (And lowkey, bc he'll never admit it to his face) Q also resents him because he decided to fucking die and leave everyone who loved him behind (including himself); resents him for drifting away, and making him care that much for his departure.
"Wanted to go as the final theatrical release and made everyone who cared about him watch in helplessness."
***From all those reasons above, the only one which prevails conflicting and he will never actually fully blame Wilbur for, is the last. It's more of irrational thought, mainly based on his unresolved guilt, which he's aware of but can't help but feel sore. Because it was obvious that Pogtopia was a heinous time for both of them and, although Wil was spiraling, he just kept caring so much about everything***
So yeah, he felt he could only belong on Wilbur's terms, so that's why he decides to control Wilbur's involvement with Las Nevadas now.
The vice president thing for him is more of a "You're not an equal power in this nation, and still, you're not fully welcome" Rather than an "I'll enjoy your powerless attempts on making a difference and I'll treat you as less of a person" kind of spite.
The meaning behind it's not nearly as bitter on sense as his deal with Schlatt was. Where he wanted to make him feel humiliated, powerless and disposable as "his bitch".

hello! ive been very skillfully avoiding reading other peoples reactions because once again i am behind by two chapters!!
so chapter five here we go!
i like that tommy’s just like a kid having a grand ole time and wilbur is like “this guys SUCKS.” its very silly
i just semi-recently read jane eyre so the curtains on fire are giving rochester’s curtains on fire but that was because his wife that he hid away lit them on fire whilst he was sleeping not because of you know an accident of sorts but anyways
i like that tommy is just tommy living his best life
to the city they go!!!
i like their interactions just in the carriage its interesting
FLOWERS RAHHHHHHHHHHH
(i wont go into flower imagery right now because that would leave us here for a while and while they might have meaning they most likely do not in this sensebut god i love flowers and all their meanings and even the way they coincide with characters and ahhh)
i like that wilbur can read her it makes sense for his character but now we get to see how perceptive tommy is which is basically not at all in this case at least
and wilbur is helping despite his hatred and his thoughts dont cross phil and how he would want him to help, but its a rather decision solely based on his own conscience and that is an interesting thing
and then theres tommy who takes everything as a challenge and yeah i just am intrigued by them
but this time wilbur holds himself because of phil and thats the contrast between the things he does for him and the things he does for his dad
tommy is doing things!!!
and i like this
i like that this shows tommy’s morals, it shows that he understands he has power in his position he just prefers to be a kid rather than have to act with that power constantly and i think that is telling of how he would be as an heir to the throne because he doesn’t act for the power he acts for the people
and hes a good person, exactly that wilbur, he doesnt play the games of politics and that is what makes him interesting
i like that in this situation wilbur knows what would be good and bad options and it sets him up to be able to better evaluate their answers from his own view
blank slate
and now tommy gets to go to the place because he is a possible heir interesting
anyways i enjoyed this chapter! i think it gave good insight on all the heirs character in a sense and how they would be as a leader and its just kind of setting that stage but anyways time for the next chapter!
- 🪿
lol yeah the contrast between wilbur and tommy in ch 5 is so funny. tommy is just a kid goofing around and wilbur is like "I hate my fucking life why am I stuck with him" he's such a dramatic teenager
gonna be 100% honest I don't really use a lot of flower language symbolism solely bc I feel like depending on the source you go off of you can find totally different meanings for the same flower like there seems to be very little consistency across the board and I never know what the 'right' source to use is. this isn't to say there is no flower language/symbolism is the fic, the references to roses are very intentional. and there are hints to certain things with the flowers mentioned in the palace garden but it's not exactly... symbolism, per se. anyway, you're more than welcome to analyze the flower language of the flowers at the market, just know that I didn't look into that at all and just chose the flowers mentioned there mostly based off vibes lol
yeah I liked pointing out that wilbur wasn't trying to help tommy with the seashell seller because of his father's orders, he genuinely didn't want to watch a 13 year old get ripped off
tommy is a blank slate like phil said. he's young and idealistic and most importantly, a good person. and one could say the reason he's still good is because he hasn't gotten involved in the games yet. you'll have to wait and see if he stays that way as the story progresses
ty I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter!!!

consider: the only reason c!tommy thought he had been in limbo for 3 months is because c!wilbur was the only one keeping track of time, and he was just being dramatic.
alternatively c!wilbur might have that limbo dilation while other characters dont. c!ranboo’s limbo dilation might not even exisit. considering the soul and the mind communicate, limbo might be lined up with real time for them.
Someone mentioned that in the tags of a rb!
And while I find interesting the idea of it being cWilbur exclusive, I do not enjoy the idea of him being a whole ass 40+ year old either so I prefer the idea of them THINKING that time passes when it doesn't really like the first par tof ur ask. Does that make sense? It makes sense in my head.

🙂🏛🐷💏🧨 ask game pog
🙂 - Should Dream get a redemption arc?
NO HARD NO LIKE THE STRONGEST NO I CAN GIVE there is literally no logical reason i can think of to give dream a redemption arc when like. we dont see his pov so how would he get redeemed? we need to see his motivations and why he wants to get better first but we cant rly do that without seeing it from his pov????? does that make sense? i hope it makes sense. also not every bad guy should be redeemable. some dudes should just be bad. like im happy to be a cschlatt enthusiast bc he does suck and everyone can happily agree on that point and nobody is arguing for him to be redeemed bc even if he had some good qualities/was an arguably kinda sad character in some aspects he was still bad and that is Okay. and i feel that same was about cdream! im not an enthusiast for him but im still happy to see him play the bad guy and i think its better that he is irredeemable!
🏛 - Should Pandora's Vault be destroyed?
nah idk why it would be tbh? like i dont see an issue with it being there. i dont rly get why people say it should be destroyed especially at this point in the lore (if someone wants to explain pls feel free to bc i gen dont know)
🐷 - Is Technoblade a good anarchist?
iiiii do not know much about anarchy tbh and everything ive seen about this topic has been very like. mixed. like its either people very strongly saying he is a terrible anarchist or very strongly saying he's actually a good one? and also one of the big arguments i see from the "he's a bad anarchist" side of things is that he's "too violent" but as far as im aware that isnt Wrong in anarchy...??? anyways from what i can tell he isnt a bad anarchist but maybe he doesnt have everything right, but then again, who does? idk who gets to say what is and isnt good anarchy? so ya, idk!! sorry
💏 - Is TNTduo /r?
yes fuck wilbur soot they r in gay enemies to lovers romances they r exploring their future as the most divorced married couple to ever exist they are picking out wedding rings to dramatically throw on the ground anytime they argue As We Speak, next!
(no but seriously uhhhhh i physically cannot view tntduo as Not romantic, they r so bad for each other but they could be good for each other if they got better or if things had happened differently and it makes me feel soooo very mentally ill)
🧨 - Who is most at fault for November 16th?
i slash gen dont remember most of the events of november 16th despite watching it live. like my brain just doesnt remember most of the shit that happened during that whole mess until its mentioned to me again. and i think it might be in large part bc that was the first dream smp stream i caught live bc before that i had been playing catchup via wilbur vods and videos from his channel so when i saw it live and there was That Much Happening my brain just went hm! no! and forgot it right after. anyways tho from what i can remember i dont think anyone can be named as "the most at fault" because of how much happened and how many different shit storms started and/or ended that day. all in all she was a fucking doozy.

It’s actually hilarious to me that im like hovering around the outskirts of the dsmp fandom with like, the equivalent of like 2 one am texts your friends sent you while on shrooms about the nature of the universe that are completely disagreeing with eachother. so you go to their house to make sure they’re all right and now your sitting on the couch as these 2 people explain their drug induced epiphanies saying opposite things but they arent like arguing or anything, and both make sense from different angles and it feels like you’re getting placebo affected.
All i know is 2 different views on the narrative about c!wilburs ending and that he is not only in utah now. But that he was from utah the entire time?? Maybe??? Very unclear on that. Makes l’manburg funnier if its true though. Also tommy was sad at the end clearly, but that it also wasnt like dramatic enough?? But maybe the lack of the dramaticness is what makes it dramatic? And i saw wilburs c!wilbur cosplay earlier on youtube, it was confusing but alright. Havent been caught up on lore in months
anyway wanna hear how i feel about the ending as someone who has not seen it and doesnt actually know what happened? He’s an asshole for just leaving like that because he still fucked up a lot of people and now he’s doing something similar to what he did before and just leaving, only theres an extremely key difference this time that makes this an Ending where it wasnt before, honestly I dont think there was any other way for him to get a real wrap on his character. c!wilbur has always been defined by the role he plays in the story even when this was a self insert Hamilton roleplay (/j). the first time he dies its while he’s playing the bad guy, a final just death for the tragic hero-turned-villain, the second (ghostburs death) he is the helpless victim unable to change anything as just a remnant of the past, this time he leaves the story without that final end of his character, he does not leave as he lived.
Anyway im sure i got plenty wrong considering all i know about the ending is a 30 second clip and like 4 other analysis on it that ive seen on my dash, but i think i like my conclusion because its fun

Hello! I was hoping to get a matchup (platonic or not, and any gender!) If you aren’t doing them right now, feel free to ignore this! <3
Basics: My name is Bea, my pronouns are she/they, and I am bi/pan (I really don’t know yet) I am 5’8”, ENTP. Chaotic, sarcastic, dramatic, and a raging feminist.
Looks: Triangle body type, really pale, medium length brown hair with slight red highlights and curtain bangs, high cheekbones, a big-ish nose and hazel eyes.
Me as a person: I am pretty social (or at least social enough to have 2 friends) and love being alone to have time to myself for reading, writing, drawing, playing video games, and listening to music. My music taste is just anything, but I do enjoy all kinds of rock. I would like to think of myself as a really funny person and can make most people laugh. My humour is pretty dark, joking about my trauma and insecurities a lot and such. My fashion sense is also most things, but specifically 80s/90s retro-like clothing. I also live in hoodies and jeans.
Fun Facts/Miscellaneous: I am Pagan/Wiccan and have an unhealthy obsession with collecting rocks and shells. Romanian is my first language. I am really good at analyzing people and their body language. I can easily cry on command and am really flexible yet can’t touch my toes when standing or sitting. I get like either no sleep or sleep until noon and I’m a big over-thinker and have ADHD.
In short, I’m a pretty difficult person to deal with but worth your time to be around
So I kind of completely forgot to mention the fandom for my matchup dsmp please <3
I'm going to do a romantic matchup for you! If you've changed your mind and wanted a platonic matchup, go ahead and message me! Also, I'm going with the whole living on the SMP idea.
I Match You With...
Wilbur Soot!
Mans loves your clothes. He will constantly make you new ones that match your style, and ask Phil to make what's to difficult for him. You better treasure everything that he makes you because it takes him a long ass time
He will constantly gift you little rocks that he finds around L'mangerg
Will sleep in with you. He has a country to rule, so sleep isn't his top priority. You two have definitely pulled all-nighters together, and you both passed out the moment you got back into your beds.
Wilbur also jokes about his traumas, including any death he's experienced. If you're with him after he's been revived, he'll constantly joke about his limbo.
He'll probably have to clean up the messes you and Tommy make with all of your chaos
The sarcasm between the two of you is hilarious. If anyone, like Tommy per say, they stop by to watch the battle of the sarcasm
Wilbur will help you when it comes to writing, and will preform your favorite songs for you if he can
He'll ask you constantly about your religion because he's never heard of it. He wants to learn everything he can, and then ask Phil and Momza if they're real
Will brush and cut your hair for you. I think that he does almost everyone's hair on the SMP, so you'll be in good hands

With a majority of the questions about esmp x dsmp, we’ve mainly been asking things in regard to Tommy. So I’m going to which it up ask about Wilbur, particularly if there’s a chance of him actually growing and healing in this au, and if he’ll make any friends with emperors? (he’s already enemies with Oli so he’s technically halfway there…?)
That's actually the end goal of the fic!
Tommy and Wilbur find that running away didn't really fix their issues and that they need to actually work on them to heal. Wilbur especially is the one who needs to learn it the most, because that's been his one and only coping method so far. It was always just running in some way.
As for friends, he also does start getting along well with Shelby (mostly because he kinda has to with how much time he spends around Tommy who, you know, lives in the Evermoore) and later with Scott (who is just as dramatic as him) and Sausage (with whom he has a similar relationship to the one he had with Ranboo. Because Sausage is someone who will give everyone a chance no matter what and who will see the humanity in everybody. I really think he's the exact kind of person Wilbur needs).
It also would be really funny for him to be friends with Joel because having an atheist be friends with a literal god tickles my sense of humor. And I'm sure I can make it make sense somehow

astromania alstroemeria, bodyswap magenta, emotion names villain au, lman but there's god, magical safe haven, ROLESWAP AU, the boo in lman what will he do, villain assistant ranboo au and to throw a dart at something Unknowable, iiiiiiii. For Innit, who is patiently waiting for me to write its next post answer about how it enjoys snackies.
Astromania Alstroemeria - band au, featuring Tommy, Tubbo, and Purpled as the actual band, and Ranboo as their chaotic assistant! I even somehow gave Purpled a tragic backstory by dramatically misinterpreting a song that I was planning to use for him. Stars would be a huge recurring theme, which is why it’s called Astromania.
Bodyswap magenta - this idea was first formed when I was mildly sleep deprived. Basically, Tubbo, Ranboo, and Purpled have a sleepover at Tommy’s house. They find a book of rituals in Phil’s room, and since they’re unsupervised chaotic teens at a sleepover, they perform one that’s meant to swap their consciousness around. They don’t expect it to work, but it does. They begin Pranks.
Emotion names villain au - I’m gonna be honest, I mostly wrote this one because I like the Dream-Tommy-Ranboo trio and wanted them as villains. But basically, those three are villains, and the rest of SBI plus Sam and Tubbo are heroes sent after them. Dream has puppeteer strings that basically act like telekinesis, Ranboo can manipulate plants (including turning himself into a plant), and Tommy can manipulate gravity. I don’t have a plot for this, but I did write the reveal of Tommy’s powers because I had such a clear mental image of that scene.
Lman but there’s god - the title gives it away, pretty much. It’s L’Manberg, but Drista is a part of it from pretty much the start. And she’s the god of chaos, so you can imagine how well that goes for the people going to war against her. Hint: it goes very fucking terribly.
Magical safe haven: This started as a background part of a chatfic, then I went absolutely feral on the worldbuilding. I made a chart of what characters are founders and members of certain organizations, not to mention all the representatives in the central magical council which required funky things like Techno being the rep of Pogtopia and Bad being the rep of Manhunt. I literally ended up forgetting the plot and thus have not been able to continue.
Roleswap au - while it may seem like it, this actually is not the one inspired by your fics! That’s ddddd. This one has Tubbo swapped with Ranboo, Tommy swapped with Purpled, Wilbur swapped with Sally, and Dream swapped with Drista. The fic opens in Snowchester with Purpled and Ranboo hanging out, Ranboo’s on call with Tubbo (who’s out mining), they’re vibing. Then XD shows up and goes ‘i’m bored, this is your problem now’, and yeets Ranboo and Purpled into canon L’Manberg. Oh yeah, and here’s my favorite part of the roleswap world: since Sally is in Wilbur’s place, calling it L’Manberg doesn’t really make sense. So they call it L’Talberg instead, since they are tall bois.
the boo in lman what will he do - time travel! After Sam kills Ranboo, Kristin goes ‘alright, this is too far’, and yeets him into the past so that everyone gets a second chance. He is fully planning on not telling anyone about this… but then the past!Tommy accidentally reads his memory book. And he tells the other L’Manbergians. Good luck keeping secrets from the smol version of your best friends, boo.
Villain assistant ranboo au - ranboo has memory manipulation and teleportation powers. These are valuable to villains, so of course he ends up joining SBI in villainy. Phil is actually a bad guy in this one - he tries to get Ranboo to use his powers way too much. The others notice and promptly get him the hell out, then have an epic confrontation with Phil and get him thrown in Pandora’s Vault alongside Dream, who is his ally in tormenting Ranboo.
iiiiiiii - I’ll actually share a snippet of this one, since it doesn’t really have a plot beyond pure fluff. Tommy’s a catshifter, him and Tubbo are vibing. That’s it.
Tubbo awoke to soft sheets and a small warmth on his chest. He soaked in the sunlight streaming through the thin curtains, and gently shook the little cat awake. Tommy yawned and stretched. His thick blonde fur seemed to shine in the light, and even when he jumped to the floor and switched to his human form, his hair kept its glow.
“Morning, Tubs,” he grinned. “Whatcha gonna make for breakfast?”
“It’s fuck off o’clock, you’ll get a knuckle sandwich,” Tubbo grumbled, flicking him a middle finger to hide his smile.
“Nah, you love me too much. The worst you could do to me is, like, hide the sugar so I can’t have hyper-sugary pancakes.”
“No, the worst I could do is only make enough pancakes for me and leave you to figure out your own breakfast.”
A jokingly-offended gasp echoed through their house. “You wouldn’t!” Tommy exclaimed.
Tubbo turned to him with a deadpan look. “Oh, I totally would.”
They lasted an impressive ten seconds before collapsing in laughter.
