#will definitely be rbing it if we can find it
Note
Aurghhh I’ve been trying to find it but I have no idea where it is. Do you know about that post where it’s like “angel do you remember your dreams” and while Aziraphale’s are the absolute worst nightmares imaginable (ex: cutting Crowley in half for a magic trick) while Crowley’s are French moonlit romances. I need it for reasons, and I think it’s been rbed here before. If it hasn’t, it’s definitely heritage worthy. thanks! :]
i've definitely seen this one before, but i can't find it either! :( if anyone knows where it is, please drop a link in the replies/reblogs :]

hi! i've been reading through your blog and saving n rbing posts as i go i'm someone who creates creature characters rather than human and am very voice oriented with my process. i wanna use more black voice claims for my characters so my things aren't dominated by solely white voices but in a way that doesn't come off as eyebrow raising or as tokenism since i'm a white usamerican apologies if these two questions are vaguely worded/too open to properly but there's two things i'd find useful to keep in mind (also it's close to 3am as i'm writing this) 1. are there any things to avoid when deciding on black voices for critter characters? like a certain species or something? this one's probably a bit general to answer but any definitive Do Not Do This would help a lot haha 2. would it be realistic and/or respectful for characters to use aave? the settings i write are urban fantasy w/ no humans but you do have dragons running around with laptops. from my uneducated pov it'd feel lacking to have every character speak with the same kinda phrases that white people usually use, but i don't know if having one character use aave and another not would feel alright any guidance would help a lot :) i want my things to not have the 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘪𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘴𝘦 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘴 problem that exists everywhere
This is a new one, so thank you for introducing me to a new concept to think about!
I mean, ME personally, I'm always wary at the idea of Black people voicing some sort of monkey or gorilla, especially if a nonblack person wrote the script lmao. It's not inherently racist, but like... It always makes me raise a brow 🤷🏾‍♀️ but that's just me! I'm sure it can be done if the writing is respectful and thoughtful (like if you told me Kerchak from Tarzan I'd be like okay bc that was a hell of a role, but the Standard is High). I'd like to allow others to offer their thoughts!
Well that's definitely an interesting thought. I think this is an issue of coding. Do you have a specific species that you want to be the "African Americans" of your story? Because it would be odd if one animal guy just randomly started speaking AAVE- and especially in that awkward "what's up my homies" way that Black people cringe at. Like, idk if you've ever heard of that One Miles Morales What If Thor comic? Yeah that's how you DON'T do it. Does this character have a community that he speaks AAVE with? is he That Comfortable with the people he's around to not have to code switch? Is it natural? Or is it really just this one dude lmao and no one else in the world does it.
I think, if you're really determined to do so, a good idea would be watching movies with Black people who speak AAVE and get used to hearing it spoken naturally. Be okay with getting uncomfortable about it lmao. Like, I remember when I first started watching The Untamed and I didn't understand one LICK of mandarin. And while I still am nowhere near understanding, after watching it and other shows in other languages, after a while you start to pick up on certain grammar rules (and how the phrases are spoken in a different order than the English subtitles), how certain responses occur, etc. Again I'm not saying I'm fluent or you have to be fluent or anything, but you have to surround yourself with the language to really understand it. And if you're not comfortable, don't shoehorn it. We'll notice. Black people speak the Queen's English too lmao. We have to. So it's fine if they just speak Standard American English.
Hope this helps!

I know people say comments on the fic site are more effective than, say, rbing the announcement post on tumblr, but I only read your work on ffnet. Would you say that rule still applies when the fic site itself is pretty much dead and an rb would reach a wider audience?
well, i guess it depends on what you mean by “effective.” like, what is the ultimate goal? is it to share this fic you loved with others, or is it to let the author know how much you loved it? both are worthy goals, certainly.
as an author, i love comments. i love when people tell me how much they liked my stories, what their favorite scenes/moments were, or when they react in the comments as they read. even people who just leave a random sequence of emojis i can't ever hope to decipher (which happens a lot more often than you'd think 😄). it always makes me squeal, and it really does encourage me to keep writing. never underestimate how motivating a positive comment can be, especially for those of us whose life is really kicking our butts at the moment to the point where finding time in a hectic schedule to write something we're not getting paid for is an odyssey onto itself. it's always nice to know people are reading your stuff and liking it, but it's GREAT when they like it SO MUCH that they just absolutely HAVE to let you know how much it moved them. that's a special thing.
that's not to say other forms of reader engagement aren't lovely. kudos on AO3, for example, are fantastic, and they're a way to let the author know you're reading and enjoying. sometimes i'll post something late at night (i always post at ridiculous hours of the night because i'm in australia) then go to bed, and when i wake up in the morning i'll have like… one comment. and that's a little sad. but if i have a ton of kudos as well, that makes it better. it makes it feel like people are reading my fic/chapter and i'm not just sitting here halfway across the world, screaming into the void. so i'm not discounting kudos at all. some of my least-commented fics are also my most-kudos'd ones. but put it this way: kudos and likes are a bit like:
Tumblr media
whereas a comment would be like:
Tumblr media
and while i don't LIKE this, per se, it's also true that comments/kudos are a bit of a mark of popularity. i know people who look at the number of comments on a fic to tell them something about the quality of the fic and help them decide whether they should read it or not-- the idea being that fics with more comments are fics that people love more, or that more people love. it's also like that with kudos a little bit, but it takes a higher ratio of kudos to comments to produce the same effect as just having a decent number of comments would. and in FFN, where there are no kudos, comments are DEFINITELY much more of a "quality" marker. (which is a shame, because there are some gems out there that just don't get much traction for whatever reason, but that doesn't mean they're not great, and more people should read them.)
as for reblogs here on tumblr, i absolutely understand what you mean, and honestly, sharing the fic with other people might lead to more comments in the long run, so it's not like they're mutually exclusive. but in that same vein, why do you have to choose one or the other? sometimes when people reblog my posts, they leave short little comments in the tags (or even in the body of the post itself), and those never fail to make me smile. and if you don't want to do that, you can always just message authors directly to let them know how much you enjoyed their work-- it's not for nothing that we list all of our (ginormous list of) social media in our author's notes, and i guarantee you no author will ever be mad to receive a little note about their fic, even if it's just something simple like "hey, i just read your fic and wanted to tell you i really loved it. 🙂" it means a lot because it's an extra step that you didn't need to take, but you did take it, and that makes it all the more significant.
but of course, if you don't feel comfortable engaging in conversation, a reblog or a like or just kudos are more than welcome. (you can also leave kudos on AO3 as a guest, btw! you don't need to have an account or even identify yourself in any way.) i just want to reiterate, because i've gone through this recently and have had this happen many, many times through my years in fandom: it is so, SO important for us fanfic authors to know that someone out there is reading and enjoying our stuff. it can be very dispiriting to publish something you've been putting all your effort and blood, sweat, and tears, and emotional stability into, and get little engagement in return. any engagement is lovely, and i'm not saying that authors should depend on engagement to keep writing because i certainly don't, but some forms of it can be more impersonal than others, and also aren't as constructive when it comes to helping us better our craft. so please keep that in mind when you read, that there's someone on the other end of this story you loved that would love to know that you loved it.
tl;dr-- reblogs and likes and shares are great, and i adore any kind of engagement, and you should only do as much as you're comfortable with. giving the fic more exposure is certainly a worthy goal, and much appreciated. but comments/reviews are a step beyond "this was cool, cheers" as a ways for us authors to gauge audience enthusiasm, and they don't only come in the form of a formal comment/review as the fanfic-publishing platforms would have you think, either. there are many other ways to let authors know what you thought about their work… including in reblogs… so it would be fantastic if more people took advantage of those avenues, because it really can make a fanfic author's day/week/month/year when they get a little comment from their readers. and you never know, maybe they needed something to make them smile at that exact moment. ❤️️

not rbing the post bc they're a minor and i'm not gonna be a hypocrite wrt "no minors" stuff... but i'd never heard the saying regarding how soulmates aren't found, they're made... and it's nice to know the definition of soulmate i've used for years actually has a basis in something ksjdnfkjnsdf. ;;; like i didnt NEED the validation but it's NICE to have.
if i ever use the term 'soulmate' it's that definition. no red strings of fate, no "first word on your wrist when you turn 18", none of that. soulmates should include having the agency to choose.
anyway. ren is my soulmate in that sense KJNSKDJN.
(rambling under the cut idk i just wanted to talk about ren's and my relationship and why i feel so comfy calling him a soulmate despite everything. we couldn't have worked OUT without putting the work IN, but once we do, it's Joever. i love him so much. i can't believe my brain made up a character who's so perfect for me in that he's NOT perfect but in the most complementary ways possible ughhhhh.)
wrt doc!ren, we absolutely Are Not Good For Each Other when we meet. two people internalizing everything and putting up walls and masks, obsessively people-pleasing vs doesn't-say-no-to-anything-to-keep-the-status-quo people-pleasing. he's very good at Playing A Finely Tuned Role and i'm just a fucking Brick Wall 7ft Deep, and it takes a lot of work for us to see that projected falsity in each other... see our similarities behind our differences... open up a bit... find more similarities...
he becomes ill, and we lean further on each other to help with our disabilities. when either of us reaches the "paranoia tells me this is going to end and i should pull back" point of the relationship, the other helps work through the source of their particular brand of paranoia.
just like... a series of "based on prev life experience, i have the exact emotional and physical skills needed to help you become a better person and reach your full potential" momence (tm).
even in r!ren's case, he still has things to work through wrt his anger towards his early life and his struggles to connect deeply with others, and in that story i'm closer to reality (in that i'm in my real life living situation and i'm not as self-assured or as self-sufficient), and that all leads to inconsistencies in what we both think the other person thinks about us. and it takes difficult work... walking through things... and in the end we become so healthy and so close! and we create a joint toolkit for solving interpersonal issues. it takes work, but we become the best people we can be with the other person, not expecting everything to simply work out in the end bc of magical soul bonds or w/e.
idk, the idea of "the perfect soulmate" is just so creepy to me. "they're trying to sell me something and i'm blackmailed by the universe into buying in" vibes..... hence why i love that one post of alice being like "if i'm approached by a perfect prince on a white horse, i'm gonna push him off the horse. eat shit." [Image ID: A black picture with the title “HOW TO SUPPORT FANFICTION AUTHORS” written in bold caps lock, colored with a winter forest picture. End ID.]
Well, this post has been made countless times, but I’m making one too because I’ve seen a lot of people say they’re new to tumblr and don’t know the whole “reblogging is better than liking” rule and other stuff. So without any further ado, here are ways YOU can support the fanfiction authors. Now keep in mind this applies to almost every author out there, not just the stayblr fandom, so if you’re a silent reader (or even if you aren’t), I advise you go through this post. Warning, this is a fairly long post going into detail, so yeah. I still expect you, the readers to read this, and if you’re a writer, feel free to lmk if i’ve written smth wrong or if you want me to add something! ^^
In this post I’ll go into thorough analysis of the pros and cons of each of the methods listed here and how YOU as a reader can show the authors whose fics you read more love and motivate them to produce content.
WARNING; LONG POST! GOES INTO A DECENT AMOUNT OF DETAIL. NOT EDITED, EXCUSE ANY TYPOS.
Tumblr media
#1 : LIKING !
I think this is basic common knowledge, and a lot of people tend to do this. When you like the post, the author sees it, you see it, and if the author has their liked posts accessible (which majority of the time they don’t), and if someone deliberately goes to check it, then they see it. See why so many authors say just liking does nothing? Only liking says “Hey, I’m gonna tell you your story is not that good by simply liking it and not sharing it with other people. :D”
♯ PROS:
You’re telling the author that you've read their fic, and either you’ve enjoyed it to a certain extent, or you’re just saving it to read for later.
Likes are seen by you, the author and anyone who has access to your likes (which, most people don’t).
♯ CONS:
If you ONLY like, you’re not really helping the author’s work reach a wide audience because this site isn’t Instagram. Reblogging is the only way people can SEE our works. I’ll cover more on that in the next section.
In a nutshell, liking is good! But you should most likely use it in a combination with the other stuff I’ve listed below, because just the like itself doesn’t really do much in giving the author any feedback or interaction on their fics.
To clear shit up; I’m not talking about those people who don’t read the story or appreciate it in the first place. I’m talking about those who appreciate the fic, like it, but don’t leave any sort of feedback to show that.
Tumblr media
#2 : REBLOGGING !
This is SO, SO important. I cannot stress on this enough. Let me explain WHY so many writers stress on reblogging content:
Tumblr’s tag system is inherently fucked up, and has grown more so over the year. I’m not kidding, at first, the fic either used to show up in the tags or it didn’t, but now, sometimes your fic can be REMOVED from the tags because of,,, idk tumblr tag shit. Anyways, as you can see, it’s very demotivating for authors at that point, because the major way for people to find their content and expand their blogs has been blocked.
Due to this reason, tumblr authors need to RELY on you, their followers to help spread their works to a wider audience. Now again, before you get me wrong, I’m not saying you ae forced to rb our works regardless of whether you like them or not. BUT, that being said, if you DO infact like the story, there’s no harm in reblogging, right? By doing this you’re indirectly telling the author — “hey! :D I liked your fic! Which is why I am gonna share it to my followers so they can read it too :D” Trust me, you’re doing nothing but helping the people who produce content for you to read. Seems like a worthy cause to hit the reblog button, right? It’s only a one, or maximum two step procedure.
Leave tags in your reblogs! Trust me, as an author myself and as much as I know from all my author friends, we oft check the tags of your reblogs to see if you found any part amazing or even if you have anything to say about the writing we put so much hard work into. Even a key smash or a “This was so [insert adjective] 🥺” is enough to leave a smile on your authors face.
♯ PROS :
You’re !! Sharing !! Your authors !! Works !! This leads to them getting more recognition, so for the content they’re so graciously providing for free, you’re promoting their blog and helping them expand it.
If the tags are being a shit, which majority of the time they are, then you’re literally making an author’s day by reblogging! You’re showing them that you, a follower and appreciator of their works are willingly sharing their content because it deserves to be seen by more people. Again before any dumb people decide to attack me, i am talking about people who like the fic but don't bother reblogging and are silent/ghost readers. I am not forcing anyone to read anybody’s work.
YOU’RE MAKING YOUR AUTHOR SO HAPPY WHAT MORE REASONS COULD YOU POSSIBLY WANT !! 🥺
♯ CONS :
Literally none, because as far as I remember no author is against reblogging of their works. It’s quite literally the way this platform functions. Reblogging is IMPORTANT.
Tumblr media
#3 : COMMENTING/SENDING FEEDBACK !
This kind of overlaps with the previous section, but THIS IS SUCH AN IMPORTANT STEP !! When you leave feedback, you are directly giving the author something so much more valuable to them than high follower/note counts or money. Your feedback is literally our serotonin. I kid you not the number of times I’ve received a positive comment and smiled and it has made my day. There’s a reason youtubers (though not the best example, bear with me here because it was the only one I could think of) ask people to subscribe, like and COMMENT. The subscription is like a follow, the like is ofc like a heart, and the comment is equivalent to an rb with comments in the tags.
You might argue and tell me that a comment is basically like an ask so the reblogging step isn’t necessary, but I’m sure 99% of you use YouTube and you know that more comments leads to people’s videos boosted in the stream/trending charts. This is what reblogging does. Reblogging shares the piece with other people like minded, which leads to a boost in reads. You are literally helping your author grow.
It’s quite literally the same thing as youtubers. Youtubers NEED validation to keep their content creation going, so do writers, so do other ccs on this site. This post is however, focused on WRITERS, so keep that in mind.
♯ PROS :
By doing this, you’re giving author valuable feedback! It’s similar to what you do in rbing with tags. Interactivity with their fics boosts their note counts and helps expand their audience, so srsly, now think of it: your one comment is playing such a massive role to help ccs create more content.
Imagine how much of a difference the note counts will be in when every person who simply likes after reading the fic, reblogs, leaves a comment and sends an ask. the note counts would be high on each and every fic, which is validation in itself, but your comments would inspire the writer so much more! Please, don’t skip the commenting part. Even a simple one like: “this is so cute!” is wonderful.
♯ CONS :
Remember, if you’re gonna give constructive criticism (which I’m sure you all are smart enough to know if different from hate), make sure the author is okay with it. Authors need to be in a specific mindset and must be ready to accept criticism, so if you’re gonna give constructive criticism to them when they’re at a low point, it may demotivate them.
Just commenting, instead of reblogging and commenting in the tags/ reblogging and then leaving an ask in their inbox, while it gives validation in plenty, will not lead to the author’s work being spread. Therefore I suggest either reblogging and commenting in the tags or reblog and then leave an ask, or comment under the fic!
!! reminder; I am not saying that if you don’t rb and just leave feedback, your feedback has no value. We authors truly appreciate every bit of feedback, but this post is aimed to help you learn how to interact with and support authors, and make them feel more motivated, because the current scenario of liking and scrolling is taking a toll on their creative abilities. Take it from a person who’s been writing for a year.
Tumblr media
#4 : COMMSIONING VIA THEIR KO-FI/OTHER APPS !
Before any of you attack me, let me tell you that this is not a step that is 100% necessary to do. ONLY donate if you can and if you genuinely want to, and if anyone is forcing you to pay for something against your will, you need to get yourself out of there.
Regardless, if an author has a kofi and you’re able to and you want to donate, you definitely should! It’s also a valid form of support.
Tumblr media
#5 : ADDING THEM ON REC LISTS/ RECOMMENDING THEM TO REC BLOGS
This is such an underrated option, to be honest. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve seen my fic was recommended onto some rec list and it’s made me smile so hard. If you like some fics, create a rec list! They’re oft very popular amongst the fans too. Making rec posts is such a great way to share your favorite stories with others.
Rec blogs! I’ve seen a couple going around, and needless to say they are a great way to get someone else to read your favorite author’s work whilst also giving them your own feedback. These blogs oft accept recs via a form or ask box, and they leave your feedback along with their own, or else they’ll oft tag the author in the feedback post, so look! You’re basically helping your author share their fic to many more people, because you’ve given them feedback and a reblog.
♯ PROS :
Validation! Feedback! Reblogs! More exposure! Helping a blog grow! Spreading love! basically a run down of the stuff I’ve said before!
♯ CONS :
Literally no con of this. Unless, a one in a million case, this author says they don’t like receiving feedback/being tagged, and I’m sure NO person has said this before, at least none that I’ve heard of.
Tumblr media
#6 : FINAL COMMENTS; MISC !
When an author points out about how the interactivity is drastically reducing, don’t just give them blind apologies. Yes, you feel sorry for not interacting as much, we understand, but rather show that you’ll become a better content consumer through your actions. We need to see that we’re not just throwing words into a void and that people are actually trying to be better content consumers.
Understand the fact that authors don’t get paid for this, and 99% of the time, these authors don’t take commissions either. They’re giving you novel worthy writings for free. Take Percy Jackson: You think the author would have felt motivated to write the subsequent parts, let alone two whole series based off of it if literally no one showed that they were interested? Rick Riordan has sales, he is being paid, there are millions of people and big agencies who provide him feedback. Now take that huge amount and simmer it down to an audience of maybe 10000 people This is what fanfic authors want. They don’t want your money, nor are they telling you to risk your lives for them. All they want is, a reblog, some tags, some feedback, some INTERACTIVITY.  A sign that they aren’t throwing fics into the void and that people actually like them, some motivation to continue. Seems fairly easy to throw an rb with some tags, right?
Don’t bother to tell me that we do this for ourselves and we shouldn’t ask for likes and reblogs and feedback, because 1) you are consuming the content that we “write for ourselves” and 2) writers post their content here for interactivity and feedback. We could just not post and write and save our fics in our dungeon drafts for years. But we choose to post to entertain the readers, the consumers. And we aren’t even asking that much in return.
Don’t give me the whole “I’m scared that authors feel that comments are annoying” excuse either because seriously this has been DEBUNKED SO MANY TIMES. Istg, in the nicest way possible, if you still think writers are annoyed by interaction and feedback, after so many posts, long rants have been posted as to how we’re not, then you must truly be living under a rock. There, I said it. Please stop thinking this way, I’ll say it again, AUTHORS ARE NOT ANNOYED OF FEEDBACK, COMMENTS, TAGS, REBLOGS. WE LOVE IT. Saying this is like saying that the audience in a theatre play shouldn’t clap when the play ends because the actors would find it noisy. 🤡
I’ve seen some people saying they have anxiety issues and such, so pls note that I’m not invalidating your condition. If you’re trying to be more interactive, I really appreciate it! If you can’t, that’s fine too. You’re trying.
But for the people who have no reason other than feeling lazy to rb and comment, your lack of interactiveness is not excused. Please. Tumblr is a reblogging site. If you’re gonna consume content like authors are some sort of machines, I encourage you to go get some more perspective.
This site is not Instagram or the satan bird app. Your likes are appreciated but frankly speaking, they do nothing to the author except tell them “Hey i read ur fic but i'm not gonna support u :D” and honestly, that is detrimental to their creative capabilities and mental health.
DON’T FOLLOW AN ACC JUST TO MINDLESS RB THEIR SIGNAL BOOST POSTS AND THEIR REBLOGS OF GIFS AND NOT INTERACT WITH THEIR WRITING AT ALL ! Trust me, authors prefer a lower amount of interactive followers than a high count that doesn’t even give them any feedback. Again your follows are appreciated, but when you’re following, you know the type of content the author creates, so the author expects that the more followers, the more interactivity. These days, this is just becoming the opposite. So don’t do it! If you’re gonna follow to read, interact with their works. I promise, this will make both you and the author happy. A win-win situation.
In conclusion: SUPPORT YOUR FUCKING AUTHORS! THEY ARE NOT MACHINES THAT HAVE NO FEELINGS TO PRODUCE CONTENT FOR YOU! FICS TAKE DAYS AND DAYS OF PLANNING, PLOTTING, OUTLINING, WRITING, EDITING, MAKING TEASERS. SO JUST SHOW THEM YOU APPRECIATE THEM WITH AN RB. IT’S THE L E A S T YOU CAN DO.

I will be liking this post here written by the lovely @chaninfused and @scriptura-delirus . Please take time to read it because if you weren’t convinced by my arguments, you will see how much frustration we as writers face on a daily basis. Please, just show support. Here is the post by @stayndays about how to get more people to read your work, because it also has a note on reblogging. Please educate yourself, and put an end to this mindless consuming culutre and bring up some interactivity.
If you’ve read this far, I want you to go to two of your favorite authors and leave some feedback in their inbox, and tag me in it (either tag me yourself or ask the author to do so, they won’t mind). Show your writers that our words are taking effect and you are becoming better consumers. I mean it. I’m serious. I want every single one who reads this post to do this. besides valid reasons, if you’re lazy to do this, you’re a part of the problem. PLEASE get more perspective.
Also, feel free to add to this post! I’d love to read your thoughts too, remember to be kind though. And, if I think your rb is somehow contradicting my points and is bringing down the reason I made this post, I will politely ask you to delete your comment, because this post is about being truthful about the harsh reality of tumblr consumers and how we can change it. I’m sure none of you will let it get to that point, though. <3 love you guys. 💓
Tumblr media
And, just a reminder, don’t just blindly like this too. Do what I said before, and while I am not forcing you, I’d appreciate your reblog, because seriously, it took me 3 whole days to write this, plus, I’m sure this will help more of your followers understand the fault in consumer culture. haha, that’s it! This post was way too long uff.
also, this is ur cue to not be stupid in my inbox. You have something to say? Think I worded smth wrongly? I’m sure it wasn’t my intention to do so, point it out with manners.

before anyone panics: this is not a “leaving the fandom” post. im way too attached to these little blockmen to leave before the story is over (my little meow meow c!crimeb0ys the world (+ others)). HOWEVER i’m not going to sit here and act like my hyperfixation hasn’t been leaking out of me like a broken pipe for a while
it happens with every fandom i’ve “been in.” i get super invested in a media, it allows my creative energy to be flexed to max output, and then i go through a little burnout before repeating the process over and over again. it’s not the healthiest way to engage with stuff, i think, but i’m trying to be more responsible about it
so no, i’m not leaving the fandom. i’m still going to rb art and posts and watch livestreams; i just won’t be an active creator for it. i can’t really think of stories anymore? that’s the whole “flex to max output” thing i was talking about. my brain has been wrung dry, so i’ve decided to hang up the towel before i hurt something ya know. i’ve been taking a little break from social media and it’s been pretty good :D been grinding out leg3nds arc3us like a mf high on crack
but, as i said, i’m still here for good. i’ve made so many friends (mutuals let’s stay in touch!! i would love to keep talking with yall) and my writing skill has grown exponentially because of this content, so i would be remiss to say “okay all of my works relating to this are getting dropped” and leave it at that. i looked through all my fics and decided which ones i’m going to finish, which have been listed out here for those who follow me for my writing
wips i plan to finish because they are my pride and joys
do racoons like flowers?
a dynasty heaven cant shake
here's to the ones that we got (cheers to the wish you were here but you're not)
holly origins series - can’t believe i almost forgot this one LOL
wips that i call “maybes but don’t count on it”
i took it as a taunt
how does the fox sneeze - the fox family series
plans for a h3rmit!t0mmy fic that i came up with but haven’t started yet
and my h3mitcr4ft series!!! i didn’t list it here because it’s a separate fandom altogether, but don’t worry. i will happily admit that baby is my favorite child and i will finish it to completion no matter the circumstances :] i’m stuck in hc hell for a long time coming, so you bet ur bottom dollar gaile is still going to be a menace to society as much as she can
this post also has a double role in the fact that my drafts have over 100 posts that i plan to queue at some point this week, so i just wanna give a heads up to what stuff you will be seeing in case you wanna blacklist it (these aren’t definitively fandoms i will join once i find my mojo again, but that doesn’t change the fact that im rbing a shit ton of content for them)

okay, i think that is everything? that is everything! thanks again so much for all the support you guys have given me. this place has made me smile and laugh when i thought i couldn’t, and i will always look back on this time in my life fondly despite all the ups and downs we’ve had. please take care of yourselves no matter what you decide to do going from here, and always know my inbox is open <3

Response to being asked to give  an opinion on Connie’s calout by residentevil-4
(Tw: CSAM, rape fic, incest fic, predatory behavior, racism, ableism, kink mention, nsfw mentions. Minors should probably dni.)
“Connie and I know each other irl and went to school together for 3 years, although they now live in a different state and have cut contact with me. We went to a private therapy school in Manhattan as we're both disabled and were deemed unable to attend public school. Even though we were pretty close, Connie didn't like having photos taken of them, so I don't have any selfies of the two of us; however, these are from our sophomore and senior yearbooks which at least confirms that we were in the same year at school. People who have seen Connie's selfies should be able to confirm that that is what they look like. First and foremost, Connie is not TMA. They are intersex and the two of us have discussed intersex issues both in person and online, but they are still decidedly CAFAB.” Ok so first off, I want to address this part of the callout. To be honest...was it really necessary to literally doxx Connie ehre? Because this textbook definition of doxxing. Yes Connie’s done some shitty things but I freally don’t think that what they’ve done warrants this level of doxxing. Or...even better, any doxxing. This feels like a really unnecessary breach of privacy, revealing sensitive information on Connie’s childhood that they choose to confide in you with. I really don’t agree with this aspect of the callout as it feels very invasive and bordering on stalkerish.  Btw when I say bordering on stalkerish I’m not directly calling you a stalker Bonnie. Just so we’re clear. I am not defending Connie supposedly faking being TMA. Because faking being TMA is a very serious issue. HOWEVER since I don’t know Connie irl and to be quite frank it’s none of my business what the nature of their agab is. Were not close and I’m certainly not going to like lead Connie onto thinking we’re friends just to confirm this with them because that would be creepy. So to be honest I’m going to take this part of the callout with again of salt for now.
[ID: A cropped screenshot of a numbered list Connie posted to their blog hadrosaurs in response to an ask.
“3. I’m TMA And that’s completely irrelevant. I’m not accusing them because of their gender I didn’t even know their gender when they said that to me saying that they said that because they fucking said that and the reaction to it was incredibly alarming. Don’t fucking say that stuff to people.]
I mean I”m not a trans woman so take this with a grain of salt if you want but...I don’t see how this is really proof of Connie being deliberately transmisogynistic? Yes Connie gives iffy retellings of mistakes they’ve made in the past. I’ve seen that on their blog before and I won’t pretend it doesn’t happen. BUT here they sound genuine enough and to be honest a growing issue I’ve seen with callouts as of late is. A person confirms they in fact did not do the thing they were called out for. And then the people who make the callout choose to see it as proof of incriminating behavior anyways. To be honest it’s a big problem and it’s also incredibly unfair to the person being called out. If you’re so determined at that point to see the person as bigoted no matter what they say then of course anything they say can be seen as proof. So I’m going to have to pass on this bit of evidence. “Connie responded: “Final note: I have spoken extensively with several trans women about using TMA to describe myself. I will not be getting into discourse about that on this blog again. All that leads to is people demanding my medical records and calling me slurs. If you wanna have a thoughtful conversation about it direct message me cause it’s not happening again here.” Again this really doesn’t seem all that self incriminating. Connie mentions here that they’ve talked to rl trans woman about whether or not they can be considered TMA. Connie really doesn’t have to disclose that personal information to people for any reason. Yes even when people are e including this ask response in a callout. And considering lots of people DO get invasive about Connie’s medical history ans general personal life over matters like this? I feel their reaction is pretty understandable here. “Connie has constantly compared “exclusionists” (or anyone, really) to TERFs, even when the people in question are not transmisogynistic, trans exclusionary radfems, or are even transmisogyny affected themselves.
“ Gonna have to disagree with this part of the callout too. Lots of ace inclus blogs, even some run by trans women , have proven that the ace exclus movement was started by swerfs/terfs. But the blog that has the most evidence for this is courteousmingler on tumblr. I suggest you check out that blog’s archiving of the history of ace exclus rhetoric before rushing to call me a transmisogynist for disagreeing with this part of the callout. I looked through all of the evidence for Connie being racist and tbh as a black ndn it all feels incredibly flimsy. It’d be one thing if Connie was using their experiences to derail and invalidate the discussions about how black people are oppressed But they weren’t doing that there at all. This part of the post feels incredibly biased. And like OP is looking for things to be mad about. Going to have to pass on this list of evidence. Also uh I seem to recall that residentevil04 got called out for some questionable behavior as well. “Both me (insepsy, hi) and ezrat have had really weird spikes in activity on our Statcounters, both on the same day. (Saturday, 4/17/21) For both of us, majority of the pages looked at by these visitors have been related to or about Connie, or have been posts that Connie would find "problematic" such as the f slur untagged or something related to "panphobia"/aphobia. I’m sorry but...none of the proof of cyberstalking holds any water. Visiting someone’s blogs and rbing posts to disagree with them is not cyberstalking. Keeping tabs on urls that an abusive person who has harassed are using so you can block them (in this case with kyoshi) and warn your mutuals is not stalking. As a victim of rl stalking it’s...really weird to call this legit stalking at all. Much less claim that you have damning proof of it being stalking when no such evidence exists in the callout. Besides after Connie and nonbinarydave called out one of kyoshi’s buddies for sending a death threat hate anon to nonbinarydave’s toddler st4lker partly admitted to doing it a few times. Then other mutuals in kyoshi’s toxic social circle clearly began joining in. Making side accounts where they tried to spin a false narrative of nonbinarydave’s daughter being one of their alters (ableist as hell.) And also trying to do it in such a way that they thought would trigger nonibnarydave’s psychosis (also ableist as hell.) If you’re going to drag Connie for their mistakes and never let them move on from those mistakes then it’s only fair to do that to people you agree with who also do toxic/bigoted things. ALso the fact that your wording here suggests that you think panphobia and aphobia aren’t real makes me doubt this claim even more. Exclus and their allies are notorious for mislabeling inclus disagreeing with them as stalking. “connie said that they would release that info at a later time and the minor began to argue with them that they had a responsibility regardless of their complicated relationship with age. in this argument connie for a time kept their age ambiguous and at one point told the minor (who confirmed in a later ask that they were severely traumatized by adults) that they obviously weren’t traumatized. connie quickly deleted this ask and any mentions of it and the next post they reblogged was about how wrong it was to try and quantify or discount others’ trauma. on my old blog i @ed them in the replies and asked if they had just done that. connie admitted to it and said it was fucked up but quickly blocked + deleted my comment. i can’t remember whether or not connie apologized to the minor, they may have? but yeah. i thought that was pretty weird.”] I do agree with some of the concern here that adults shouldn’t over expose minors in discourse. I’ve been contemplating this for awhile myself. And trying to figure out how to take better steps to avoid including minors who are triggered by discourse in discourse, especially. HOWEVER I have one little issue with this addition to the callout. If that is the case then exclus and their allies need to practice this as well. You cannot ignore the fact that the reason a lot of minors are getting involved in exclus discourse is due to adult exclus and their allies forcing minors to pick a side in the discourse. Y’all are not at all exempt from this problem. I still remember an ex mutual of mine trying to convince a minor to agree that aces can’t face corrective rape. And based on how aggressive it got with me when I tried to avoid giving an opinion on the matter, I can’t imagine that it would’ve reacted better to the minor refusing to give an opinion or to the minor outright disagreed. Refusing to put these standards on exclus and their allies is both hypocritical and quite frankly very transparent. The claims about them glorifying dark topics on AO3 through their fics also seems unfortunately legit. I mean those asks of shaming people who ask their viewers to not romanticize or glorify abusive relationships in their works is very damning. I’m very disappointed to see that Connie has taken being an inclus to the point of validating antis anti culture wholeheartedly. I can’t think of much more to add to my opinion on that part of the callout. As for the issue of Connie interacting with pro shippers in the past, I do know that this claim is legit. I’ve seen it before and so has Breeze. This was why for a brief time we decided to stop following their blogs. Because it was triggering to have pro shippers put on our dash. And sometimes we just don’t feel it’s worth it to always let people we’re platforming know they’re rbing triggering stuff. So sometimes we just quietly unfollow and choose to not interact until we’re sure they’re filtering what they do and don’t rb in some way. I definitely don’t agree with that behavior. And if they’re still doing that I”ll deplatform again. “The anon asks: “A weird question but do you know any other stimboard blogs with your follow criteria? (No radfems, racists, fandom antis, etc.) I was hoping to find more through your “similar blogs” but a lot have no anti-antis for their DNI or allow truscum/transmeds and exclus. :(“
The user responds: “I know of @turtle-pond-stims, @outofangband, and @kinaesthetics! 🍂🍄" “[ID: A cropped screenshot of an ask sent by Connie from their now-deactivated blog, butch-with-a-tortoise.
Connie says: “hey anon I have safe stim blogs. dm me if you want them. And radfems/bigots aren’t allowed to interact. For my own safety (because the community is honestly terrifying) I can’t publicly say on my blogs that I’m safe for proshippers/kinky people but I try to spread word how I can.”] [ID: Screenshot of a post by evilwriter37, which reads, “I’ve been seeing posts about fandom police leaving ao3, and it’s like: Good. We don’t want you here anyway. Go find your own fanfiction site.”
The post is tagged “#Fandom #AO3 #Antis #Purity Culture” and has 87 notes. It was posted on December 21st, 2020.
There is a reply from main-to-outofangband-andothers saying: “there are Silm antis on that site who are against Russigon (Maedhros and Fingon) not because they’re cousins but because they’re both male (coded)”] [ID: A screenshot of an anonymous (though signed off as being from outofangband) ask sent to evilwriter37, which says, “Melkor and Viggo solidarity is ‘Look there’s nothing wrong with keeping my enemy chained up in my personal chambers at all times so please just focus on the war efforts and I’ll focus on the boy* in my chambers’ -@outofbangand.
*boy used figuratively @ antis”
The user responds: “Pfft!!! Hahaha! You’re absolutely right! (And Viggo does refer to Hiccup in canon as ‘my boy’).”] I can’t really say anything to refute this. Because these are all posts of Connie outright stating that they disagree with antis. And not only sympathize with anti antis but are fully against antis. Looks like very damning evidence. Although ngl I’m not entirely against kinky blogs as a whole? Just so long as they truly stay in their lane with their kink content. And don’t force it on others in any way. Or shame people who are triggered by their kinks. It is true that being entirely against kinky blogs no matter what is dipping your toes into swerf rhetoric. Tbh I’m not going to look at the rest. This is pretty much all I need to make a decision on whether or not I”ll continue platforming Connie. Though I will try to get some more  perspective from people who I interact with as well. Because I feel better about making a more definitive decision after doing that. Also in general please don’t not try to get an opinion from me on how I feel about syscourse. A lot of the claims about Connie’s age weirdness and them using their alters as a shield feel like syscourse to me. Especially if this callout was written by one or several singlets. Singlets should never be trying to judge how legit someone’s system is ever. Even if their system friends encourage them to. You can call out a horrible person with a system without trying to insinuate that they’re lying about their alters in some way. Doing otherwise is ableist ESPECIALLY if you’re a singlet. Also in general the reason I stay out of discussions of judging how someone is handling their systems is because it’s syscourse and syscourse is triggering for my system and I. If this post was an attempt to get me to give an opinion  on the validity of Connie’s system I don’t appreciate it. And I would appreciate not being dragged into such matters again, thank you.
In general there’s like a few parts of this callout that feel legit. Which is unfortunately cluttered with obvious bias and obsessive hatred of Connie. I’m not here to stan or coddle Connie. I know they are not a perfect person. Especially since no human being in the world is perfect. But I feel the way this callout was created was very sloppy since a lot of the evidence was messy at best. And some points were very hypocritical as well as there being some no true scotsman moments from OP. In acting like exclus never do any of the thing that they tried to call out Connie for. Which is behavior that I am not a fan of. This is why people need to be more careful about callouts and like make roughdrafts and have a more unbiased person helping them if they don’t feel they can do it on their own. I’m even trying to make a resolve to do better at that myself. So it’s not like I’m unwilling to put my money where my mouth is. Anyways those are all my thoughts on this messy callout. And tbh I’m not going to get too much more heavily involved in this. Because I need to focus on more immediately serious rl stuff more often, like doing what I can to get out of the hellish landscape of a house I currently am stuck in.

lately I’ve been going through people’s inactive tumblr archives and rbing stuff but I have a feeling that maybe some of them might’ve been stolen gifs, how can you tell if it’s stolen?? (i definitely don’t want to contribute to stealing stuff so if something is stolen I immediately delete it but sometimes I fuck up and don’t realise til people have already started sharing it from me)
i always struggle to find a way to answer this in a way it makes the most sense because i, as a gifmaker, can spot almost immediately who exactly the gif belongs to
everyone has their own unique style: coloring, sharpening, font, text size, etc but i’m gonna attempt to recreate what the most obvious type of stolen gifs post looks like using my own gifs: newer ones and ones from my archive, way back when i first started giffing since my technique has evolved so much so most people that steal gifs like to make giant mix matched compilations out of them aka posting a ton that don’t look the same in the slightest in one big post example:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
caption example: i love these moments so much!!! why don’t we talk about them more? see how none of these resemble each other at all? different font look, the gif movement speed, different shape/size, different colorings, some more grainy than the others, etc all those factors are what you should keep in mind and are a dead giveaway to stolen content i’ve never seen a gifmaker not make things match at least in some way in a set and yes it is true that a person’s style changes over time but like if you’ve followed someone for a long time that you know makes original content, you shouldn’t have anything to worry about reblogging old stuff posted by them

(1/3) Hello! I was wondering if xkit blacklist is gonna be retired bc of the new native tumblr text filtering & blocking features? It's good that tumblr is implementing those, but there's nuances to xkit blacklist that I like & that have social functions. Most of my blacklist is usernames, so eg afaik blocking is now like twitter blocking where posts from someone you've blocked disappear entirely, this would mean I can't see if eg someone I just followed keeps rbing posts by bigots -
(2/3) while blacklist warns me of their presence instead. Or eg if I have someone blocked, I can't read posts where they're vital to understanding the discourse/are being dunked on. Also I blacklist popular users bc I'm sick of seeing their posts, but I don't want to block them. I also like that xkit blacklist has username, text, & tag filtering in 1 system, rather than 3 separate ones, & that it's more forgiving of bad tagging practices (so, more discrete, you don't have to ask people to fix
their tags for you). I deal poorly with change or uncertainty (which is why I'm writing this), but if blacklist is retired, I guess I'll try to deal with the new social & practical reality- so I don't mean this as like, an inflexible demand. Thanks for reading, & thanks if you chose to answer me! (3/3)
XKit Blacklist is not going to be retired, but it’s probably going to be lower-priority going forwards. We’ve almost got it ready for the new dashboard! However, we will be encouraging users to switch to the native tools.
As someone whose blacklist also was almost entirely usernames, these concerns resonate with me, and I’d like to shed some light on everything brought up here! (Note: this information is only accurate to the new dashboard.)
Blocking a user doesn’t entirely hide their posts. It hides their posts that are directly on your dashboard; you’ll still see those posts when visiting their blog, even on the dashboard sidebar view (”peepr”). Since checking out a blog will show you all posts, including by users that you have blocked, you should be able to spot (or search for) any users whose buddies and fans you want to avoid.
Also, blocking a user only hides their original posts - you’ll still see posts on your dashboard that have comments by blocked users on them.
This brings us to the significance of Tumblr content filtering. Content filtering checks posts, including usernames in the reblog trail, meaning you can use it to filter out users you don’t want to block, or frequently have their comments make their way to your dashboard.
However, we are aware that Tumblr content filtering doesn’t check tags at all. I don’t think that’s good, and I encourage you to make a fuss about it to Tumblr support. I would too, but it’s hard for me to make a compelling case, since the combination of tag filtering and user blocking is doing just fine for me.
I’d also like to point out that Tumblr tag filtering does have an advantage over Blacklist in that it also checks the tags of the original post. Since most blogs tag their original posts to increase their discoverability, you might find that tag filtering is more effective than Blacklist for commonly tagged subjects.
Also, blocking a blog is usually a lot more useful than simply blacklisting or filtering its username: first, it tracks that blog across username changes, something you can’t do by just checking usernames - and secondly, means no nasty surprises with them showing up in your activity feed or follower list.
Overall, I encourage everyone to try out the native Tumblr tools, so that if they aren’t enough, you can tell Tumblr support exactly how they need to be improved.
Personally, I’m very happy with user blocking especially - it’s definitely worth going through your blacklisted usernames and making sure you have each blog actually blocked. Once you’re down to just actual subjects or phrases, you might find that you don’t see an overlap between what you need to put in your tag filtering and content filtering lists!

THE POSITIVE & NEGATIVE; mun & muse.
fill out & repost !
tagged by:  Stole from @spiritwinding SWEET I MISSED U tagging:  Anyone who wants to use this as an excuse to do smth that isn’t drafts-related (aka me)
Tumblr media
my muse is:  canon / oc / au (? technically?) / canon-divergent / fandomless / complicated
Is your character popular in the fandom? YES / NO Is your character considered hot™ in the fandom? YES (:/) / NO / IDK. Is your character considered strong in the fandom?  YES / NO / IDK Are they underrated?  YES / NO (lmaaao) / IDK Were they relevant for the main story?  YES / NO. (depends on the game) Were they relevant for the main character? YES / NO / THEY’RE THE PROTAG. Are they widely known in their world? YES / NO. How’s their reputation?  GOOD / BAD / NEUTRAL. (depends on who you talk to) How strictly do you follow canon?  —  Shadow’s world is mostly game-verse but I take heavy influence from the things I like about Archie and have included mentions of the Freedom Fighters + Suppression Squad. ShTH doesn’t happen. Shadow doesn’t get Zombotted. So....lol I basically just make up my own canon of things I like tbh
SELL YOUR MUSE! Aka try to list everything, which makes your muse interesting in your opinion to make them spicy for your mutuals.  —  If you’re tired of SEGA trying to make Shadow into the asshole he is today and you were also tired of super bland-ass cardboard Shadow....welcome to my blog. Shadow’s a good guy, he just doesn’t know how to show it and he’s trying to atone for his previous fuck-ups. He’s someone who constantly struggles with his past despite trying to move past it and into a better life, despite his claims of ‘moving on’ and he is--but he’s still got lots of guilt. He is sharp edges with a heart of gold and an arrogant grin to back it up.
Now the OPPOSITE, list everything why your muse could not be so interesting (even if you may not agree, what does the fandom perhaps think?).  — After SA2 SEGA decided to make Shadow the epitome of the :| emoji and have no personality, and recently they’ve made him a shitty person and undone pretty much any sense of character development he had--his promise to Maria to protect people? Down the drain in favor of his “fucc u sonic” attitude when REALLY Shadow would never put something as petty as that above Maria. Any arrogance, any sense of ‘edge’ and ‘cool’ to Shadow? Gone. God damnit.
What inspired you to rp your muse? — Literally just being mad about how SEGA has written Shadow and feeling like I could do better lol
What keeps your inspiration going? —  Growing up with Sonic, mostly? I know almost everything about the series and being able to create new lore and cherrypick the bits of canon I like to make a new world is just...really fun.
Some more personal questions for the mun.
Tumblr media
Give your mutuals some insight about the way you are in some matters.
Do you think you give your character justice?  YES (I can definitely improve in some areas but I know I can write Shadow well at this point) / NO / I SINCERELY HOPE I DO? Do you frequently write headcanons?  Sometimes; with headcanons I usually need some seed of inspiration to hit me and then all these ideas hit me at once and I can’t shut up. Usually RBing headcanon asks helps. Do you sometimes write drabbles?  YES / NO Do you think a lot about your Muse during the day? YES / NO Are you confident in your portrayal? YES / NO / SORT OF? (anxiety) Are you confident in your writing?  YES / NO. Are you a sensitive person? YES / NO. / SORTA. Do you accept criticism about your portrayal?  —  Always. On things that are actually important. If someone’s gonna criticize my Shadow for being too SA2-y or too canon-divergent or they’re gonna have an issue with ShTH not being canon on my blog? Boi go find another Shadow blog, there’s literally no shortage of us, he’s the most popular character in the franchise behind Sonic himself.
Do you like questions, which help you explore your character?  —  YES? Do people not like this?
If someone disagrees to a headcanon of yours, do you want to know why?  —  Oh always. Shadow has gone through 34852934 different portrayals and I am interested to see what my fellow Shadow-muns think about his writing or the differences in their headcanons. I have an issue with the term ‘disagree,’ because it’s headcanon--not actual canon...we all just have different opinions and that’s fine
If someone disagrees with your portrayal, how would you take it? — I’d be kind of frustrated, because I’m very straight-up in my doc about how my Shadow doesn’t adhere to any one canon and he’s not going to be the version of Shadow you’ve seen in modern portrayals because I DON’T LIKE THAT VERSION OF SHADOW. So it just shows an absolute disregard for my rules and my Google Doc.
If someone really hates your character, how do you take it? — Shadow’s an overrated character and I’ll be the first to say it but he’s MY overrated character and I’m tired of the needless hate on him for him being a dramatic bitch
Are you okay with people pointing out your grammatical errors? — Fuck proofreading. Go for it but also...why bother lol. They’re there. Usually my grammar’s good so I don’t care.
Do you think you are easy going as a mun?   —  Pls say hi. I know I’ve been MIA but I wuv this blog

(1) hello! saw your post about gifs/fanart and it got me thinking. Like for me I love gifs bc as you said is literally looking at the thing/person you're a fan of, noticing details and seeing what you want to see up close. I tend to have a "style" of gifs that I really like how they look, but as a non gif maker and having 0 knowledge of how they're made is kinda hard to “praise” the creator, like I can say its pretty or the coloring is pretty and that’s it
(2) like I dont really know what else the op did to make it look as it does so sometimes it feels kinda bland to just add “so pretty!” in everything, you get me? Instead im a gfx maker and I get to appreciate a lot more about gfx, like textures, psds, etc etc For fanart, is weird, i tend to believe is to the separation between “my idol is a human and this art is a “cartoon” (no offense I can’t find the proper word). Im not sure how to explain it...
(3) for example im also in the anime fandom and I LOVE fanart there and it doesn’t “feel” like it, it feels like the actual thing, like the actual characters doing things that are not in the anime? but in kpop it feels different, dont get me wrong I love fanart! but for ex. I dont see fanart and go WOW that’s the idol I love in art form! Is more like wow that art is really pretty and well done, like its a different type of excitement?? idk its not really a good explanation but I wanted to share!
hi anon!! i get exactly what you mean!...i think. regarding not seeing fanart as “the idol”- i was actually thinking the same thing but also couldn’t put it into words. but while i don’t see fanart and think “this is my idol and i can definitely see them doing this”, i do see it and think “this is a representation of my idol” and each artist has their different styles and representations and it’s so amazing to see! but yeah i think one of op’s points was that we should try to appreciate content not just because of the idols but also the actual artistic content(?) in it, so if people like it for the content? reblog it! if people like it for how it looks? reblog it!
also want to add that i’m not trying to dictate what people should like, but if you do like fanart/gfx especially, give it a reblog! and if people aren’t rbing fanart/gfx because it’s a different medium or whatever, please give it a chance

I put every fic I wanna read in my queue! It currently has 175 fics and I don't know when I'll have time to read them! I actually have a to-read-later tag on my blog but I don't like just rbing fics and not say something to the author so I wait to read them and then rb them with a nice comment! And then there are ones that I have read, added then in the queue because I want to rb them with my thoughts but I can't seem to find the right words to say. I do rb them eventually but it takes some time!
not to be a binch, but do you mean draft instead of queue? i just ask because i think the queue automatically reblogs thing? if that is what u mean tho, IGNORE THIS ALL TOGETHER because i definitely like the idea a lot either way, and i salute you because thats a lot to keep track of!
i think its so, so sweet of u to save fics for when u have something nice to say about them, and i'm sure it means a ton for the people u reblog from!!! it also sounds nice because it's like u always have a leetle collection of things to choose from when you're in the mood to read something (and god i wish that were me).
one of the reasons why i don't use the tumble system for saving things i wanna read is bc i've always really wanted tumblr to give us a better way to sort posts/drafts/queue by like... adding categories we can label. i use my drafts to keep a handful of things i wanna post on rainy days, but its kinda. a mess LOOL because i have a few fics in there too that i feel like have just gotten lost at this point.
dunno tho because i think your system sounds so great and thoughtful🥺

your musing piqued my interest and I wasn't going to reply to it directly like this but rbing it didnt seem right either, so feel free to delete this if I seem delusional: I've been with people who have asked me similar questions because it was an online relationship, and as much as you want to show online or through calls, a lot of it is staged/not fully represented or cherry picked based on the usual time that they're online. but I think the attraction (while yes your imagination does fill out a lot of the blanks) comes from the excitement of meeting somebody who is interested in knowing you, and the excitement of Wanting to know more about that person. I would sit here and make some mcyt reference about 'we seek the unknown we get off on mystery', but in my defense it is the one on one interaction, the promises of "we both like doing this thing we could do it together" and little nuances like that that might keep those anons going. I cant speak for them because I'm not part of that group, but if it were me who was hyped about the fact that I just asked you a question about your favourite ancient empires and hit a jackpot with that, I wouldnt give a dime about your appearance to get on my knees (I think getting an initial kick-back from a face reveal, having to go back to square one because of course 'you dont look like how i imagined it' might make the attraction heaps stronger, that is if those anons really are true fags). I dont know where I was going with this, I suppose it's just the point of view from the other side, because you Have talked about similar thoughts before
Makes enough sense, anon. The whole "stumbling upon a jackpot question" thing definitely makes sense to me and I hadn't really thought about it that way before. I've never put much stock into online relationships especially when you've never met the person irl but I guess there is some sort of intrigue in wanting to know more about a person and wanting them to know you. Maybe they feel some sort of serendipity there, that amongst all the tumblr blogs that there are they somehow found mine and, because I'm interesting to them for xyz reasons, they find something special in that. I can definitely relate to that; it's like when you find a new song completely out of the blue but it's just your type of jam. Except with a potential human connection instead of music lol. Thanks for your thoughts anon, definitely interesting
