Can we talk about how Denny is a national treasure too. Like, this precious baby boy, lost his little sister and was so upset by it. But he still said yes to his moms to foster more kids even though he knows none of them would stay AND is so super sweet to them as their temporary older brother 🥹. Most kids don't have empathy like he does. Denny is such a gem.

Part I

Hey guys! Im sorry for not posting anything all these months, this is the first part of what it is the 3rd and last issue I did for my fancomic series SLADE that i made a year ago, the idea was to make an issue for each of Slade’s child but unfortunately i never got to make Rose’s 😣, but at least here is Joey’s, or as most of you know… Jericho, i really hope this could be a nice introduction for the character if this is the first time you are going to read about him, Joey is basically the kind and heroic son of Slade, younger brother of Grant but older than Rose, but who unfortunately pays the direct consequences of his dad’s job , changing his life forever.

This drama in the Wilson family is going to be so fascinating to watch because there are so many levels to it. You have a young boy who has this desire to get to know his real father. causes him to do something irresponsible and lie to his parents. You have Denny’s bio dad-who chose to walk away-suddenly given this opportunity to get to know his son. But he is the ADULT in this situation and he should’ve called HenRen as SOON as Denny showed up on his doorstep. But we have to assume that he isn’t thinking logically-the desire to bond with Denny too strong.

And finally we have poor Hen and Karen. There is nothing more terrifying than your young child (THEIR BLACK SON AT THAT) not coming home when they’re supposed to. Finding out that for months they have been lying to you. The sheer PANIC of not knowing where they are and if they are okay. And then. AND THEN. Hen turns around to see her son walking into the emergency room. Finds out Denny was in a car accident. Because he was in a car with someone Hen(and Karen) don’t know. Hen and Karen are going to be experiencing a variety of different emotions -fear, anger, anxiety, confusion, jealousy, hurt- and they will have to try to navigate through this situation with Denny with open minds and open hearts while simultaneously trying to do what they believe is the best thing for their son.

God I can’t wait.

Hey do you guys ever think about Grant Wilson and hating his resemblance to Slade. Different from the way that Rose does. Rose is immediately recognizable as Deathstrokes daughter, it's hard to mistake her as anything else. But Grant looks like who Slade used to be. He looks exactly like the man that Grant grew up with. The blonde hair and blue eyes and broad shoulders. The shape of his jaw and the sharp toothed smile. Grant can kick and claw and fight, can tell himself as much as he wants that Slade and His Dad are different, that they couldn't be the same person, that it's the experiments fault Slade stopped loving them. But he'll never shake that he flinches when he sees himself in the mirror. That the one time he saw his reflection while fixing his belt he almost threw up. That he woke up from a dream he claims not to remember to go to the nearest convenience store, woke Jade up in the middle of the night to help him dye his hair. He ignores the knowing look in Jades eyes as she helps him, even if he's unsettled by the lack of snark. Looking at himself in the mirror the next day, hair the exact shade of brown as Adelines, curls a perfect match for hers, he breathes easier. He's always preferred being Grant Kane anyway.

Comic Theory: The Wilson family are descendants of the Shi'ar

Okay so here me out. There was a moment in comics where professor Xavier had a feeling Sam Wilson was a mutant (Thank god that was never confirmed. I still don't like that Kamala khan was confirmed mutant. I have my own issues with how BIPOC mutants are treated in comics.) and his contact with the stone just awakened latent gene's within him. Johnny Storm even asked Sam if he was sure he wasn't a mutant. But they never brought this train of thought back up. I always had a theory that either Darlene or Paul had pretended to be human to assimilate or have an ancestor that pretended to be human. That Sarah and Gideon as well as their kids also have dormant genes. Now that I watched episode six of X-Men 97 and seeing the Shi'ar race. A race of bird people that have a few people that have Psychic abilities. Who Xavier obviously has a lot of intimate knowledge about. Fun fact Shi'ar who breed with humans those hybrids are called Mutants. So what if those feelings Xavier was getting from Sam weren't a earth mutation but because he is a Shi'ar hybrid. It would answer why Sam always felt close connection to birds but couldn't explain why, the Psychic abilities, and why Sam has great feats of strength despite being "human". Also Newer Shi'ar tend to lose their bird features which is why lady deathbird has the metallic wings. So it would explain why we don't see the feathered hair and features. Everything points to the Wilsons being Shi'ar. We can even say high council Shi'ar since those with Psychic abilities we see in comics are on the council.
