20 Questions for Fic Writers
Tagged by @cnnmonbimee! Thank you for the tag!! Read her awesome answers here!
1. How many works do you have on Ao3? 66! More than I thought were on there tbh!
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count? Uhhh apparently it's 684,757! Less than I thought!
3. What fandoms do you write for? In order of most fics to least: Ace Attorney, JSHK, My Hero Academia, Mob Psycho 100, Homestuck, Hunter x Hunter, Phineas and Ferb, and Supernatural. I've also written a lot of Pokemon stuff, but somehow that has escaped Ao3 despite it being my longest fandom LOL. Working on a Pokemon SV one currently though 👀
4. What are your top five fics by kudos? Project: Matchmakers (shocker, I know), Sleep (Too) Tight (It's always been slowly but steadily popular), Force of Habit (bit of a surprise there honestly), Project: Matrimony (less surprising), and The Stuff of Dreams. So what I am seeing here is that no one leaves kudos on my JSHK or MP100 or MHA fics :') Some of these fics are one-shots, so it's kind of surprising! I wish PlayWright had gotten more attention; that fic killed me while I was writing it. I'm not giving number of kudos because I'm not comfortable with that and it makes me feel bad about myself haha,,,
5. Do you respond to comments? I try to! I've fallen behind on responding to them in the past 2 years or so because life has been so busy, though…
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Probably A Practice, For Now?? LMAO it's also my first JSHK and the one with the most kudos HMM COULD THIS FANDOM BE ADDICTED TO ANGST PERHAPS??! I don't write angst a lot!! What can I say, I'm a sucker for a happy ending.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Almost all of my fics end happily, LOL. Pick any of them that actually has an ending.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Not commonly. I've gotten anon hate before about them on tumblr on rare occasions, but usually my comments on ao3 stay pretty nice.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I do sometimes, but I'm so shy about it that I rarely ever post it /)//w//(\ Usually I just share it among friends, haha!
10. Do you write crossovers? Nope, and I never will!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Yes. Someone tried to run Project: Matchmakers through a translator to hide the word matches and sell it as an ebook on Amazon, but they only bothered to hide it for chapter 1 so someone reported it to me and then in retaliation I started actually selling it on Amazon for the lowest price I could because the thief was trying to sell the shittier version for like 7 dollars LSFJ;AKLD. Read about the whole debacle here.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes, quite a few! People have been great about asking me for permission! 💖
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Yes, here and there! Usually it's either fics where I have written one part and someone else has written another scene, or someone had me look over something they'd written and I added so much commentary or threw additional ideas at them so much that the story ended up changing and I somehow became a co-author, LOL.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship? Oh my god don't make me answer that ;alskdjfl;k. If I wrote a fic for them ever, they're my favorite. I have so many favorites that I've never written fics for, too.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? THE UNDERCOVER FIIIIIC [sobs] and also Left on Read hnnngh
16. What are your writing strengths? Emotions!! I'm super good at those! I'm also really strong at dialogue and banter, and making my writing kinda witty/funny.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Describing settings ;w; I write my scenes like I draw my art: in Descriptionless Blank Voids lkas;dlkf. I also struggle with the flow of action scenes sometimes, though I think they usually turn out okay if I spend enough time on them. I also probably use too many adverbs and adjectives, but y'know what? Fuck it I like my descriptive words thank you very much
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? As long as you're checking that it means what you think it means, or possibly asking a native speaker if you're unsure about context or need a sensitivity reader, I think it's fine. It annoys me if I have to check a footnote every other line, but if you can mostly understand it without a translation in context, it can be kinda nice! At least it says you're trying more than phonetically spelling out an accent, which--remember, kids!--is always cringe! 👍
19. First fandom you wrote for? On Ao3, it was Homestuck. On the internet in general, it was Animal Crossing and Pokemon, LOL.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written? Don't make me cHOOSE BETWEEN MY BABIESSS 😭 I dunno man! Project: Matchmakers is my magnum opus, but the PlayWright is lowkey kind of a masterpiece, I love so many of my JSHK fics to bits and pieces, a lot of my MP100 and MHA fics are very special to me, I've been trying to write a HxH one for YEARS and have poured my heart into making it beautiful, just UGHHH every single one of my fics I have vivid memories of conceptualizing and working on and most of them are my favorite to some degree!
I tag @carochinha, @kittykatz009, @toastytoaster22, @ittybittytoostormy, and anyone else who would like to answer these questions!!

a goodbye letter.
hello everyone, it's been a long time, isn't it?
i haven't written anything in months and tbh even if i wanted to further give life to all my wips, i wish i had even a drop of motivation and energy to do so. some of you might have as well forgotten about my little blog, which had its own humble beginnings. and tbh i don't mind at all. it's been, i don't know almost 5+ years that i've had this blog. i started it out during the last two years of my high school, when i was struggling very much to cope with all the pressure and anxiety. this little corner of the internet became my comfort space. i could pour my heart out into snippets of letters and the love that i received from all of you who were there from the beginning only fueled my passion to write more and of course, helped me immensely in escaping the cruelty of my reality.
since then, i have graduated school. my reality is still harsh but i'm surviving. i have also graduated from my college with two degrees that i was doing simultaneously. currently, i'm preparing to sit down for my master's 1st-year exam coming months and job surfing at the same time. tbh i wish i had enough energy and positivity to motivate myself to pen down something. but it seems like we have to finally pull the curtains down on this blog.
yes, there is a lot of stuff that's still pending to be completed as you will know if you care to check my masterlist. but i'm not going to give you any false hope by saying that someday i will magically come back and finish and place them all in front of you. it would be too selfish of me to keep you on your toes like that.
i know i've let down a lot of you. many have told me me how much, especially my letters have helped you guys during hard times. even though i know i shouldn't even bother to think like this considering i know none of you in-person. still, it's the crippling humanity in me. honestly, i feel sad for myself. my life took so many things away from me. even the capacity to keep this comfort space alive for myself. some of you have left a long time ago. probably life has happened to you all too. i have also met some of you during the latter part of my journey here and i'm very glad that you all loved my work even with all my incompetency in keeping up with the schedules. you guys were too kind to me.
this actually came too suddenly - this realization that something needs to end. i don't think there will come any other time in the future when i'll read fanfics or write them myself. but it's a bit too much to delete the whole blog considering the reblogs will still exist in the tumblr algorithm. therefore, the letters will still be up along with the fics.
although i don't think i will stop writing. i have my substack where i will experiment with my creative writing but that's just my way of growing up as a writer. these days i'm too busy both in my head and physically, i wish i can overcome becoming a moss. my produce is sparse but my want is bigger than that. although for fanfics, there's no want anymore. i've had my fill and i'm sad to say, this is where we part.
pffbts is thus archived. all my posts will remain. if you send in any mundane sweet ask, i will answer them as soon as possible. kindly please don't send in any requests for fics (i've had to delete a couple of them from my ask box and it felt terrible.) i'm not completely going away. as a person, i will stay. it's just the fanfic writing part of me that will take a permanent leave. i'm almost 24 and it's been almost 10 years that i've started out in creating fanfics. i think it's enough, nah? plus writing this post for you all has strangely made me feel calm, as a certain baggage has been let down from my shoulders.
thank you to you all from the past & the present. i hope you all stay well and healthy. it has been truly a good time to have you all with me.
-K.

20 questions for fic writers!
As seen on @givereadersahug (x)!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
I currently have 59 works on AO3, though some of those are unrevealed or anonymous, so the visible work count is a bit lower.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
105k! Wow. Over half of that has been in the last two years, when I've been doing a lot more writing and taking part in exchanges.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Naruto (7) Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling (7) Original Work (7) Warhammer 40.000 (3) Fate/stay night & Related Fandoms (2) Stellaris (Video Game) (2) From there we get into a lot of one-offs that I wrote for exchanges. House MD, Gundam Wing, Good Omens, The Order of the Stick, and many others. Most of the Original Work fics are for particular exchange prompts, some of which are quite fun.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
The Greatest Weasley [Harry Potter, Ron-Centric, incomplete] - this WIP is my white whale! Ron gets sorted into Slytherin. Only a couple chapters, I should return to it sometime...
Harry Potter and the Independent Path [Harry Potter, parody, one-shot] - This very short parody fic is fun and I'm glad people like it. I actually look back fondly on this genre even if I poke fun at it.
Five Times Sakura Heard the Voice, and One Time It Faded [Naruto, Sakura-centric, one-shot, 2.9k] - This was an fest fic for Fest No Jutsu 2022! I really enjoyed writing this one.
If You Won’t Wait for Me, I’ll Find My Own Path [Naruto, Sakura-centric, drabble] - Wrote this one based on the fandom opinions of my friend @xenosimp. Surprised at its popularity.
Liana and the Labyrinth’s Core [Original Work, Explicit, Het, 2.3k] - I wrote this very explicit fic for an exchange, and had a lot of fun with it! Minotaur/Sacrifice, make sure to read the tags/warnings.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
For exchange fics, almost always. Otherwise, I do sometimes. It's fun to chat with other fandom people and let them know I appreciate their comments, or answer their questions.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't usually write angsty endings, but The Rules of Reintegration [OW drabble, prompt: military android masquerading as a human] is angsty.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I'd say Four Times Toph Beifong Triumphed [ATLA, Toph-centric, 2.5k words] would be it. It's generally fun!
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not often, though I got one very baffling comment on a fic where someone questioned the realism of it. I'm not in the big fandoms where there's lots of drama though.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes, often for exchanges. It typically tends to be straightforward steamy sex. I've got some more kinky stuff posted to anon that I won't share here, heh.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I've written one, but it's not usually my style for writing, since it's a challenge for me. I love reading them though!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No, and I hope it never happens. I don't think anything I've written is popular enough for that 😅
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
My fandom friend and I co-wrote Mist and Shadow, a WH40k AU fic about Eldar escaping the fall of the Eldar empire. After about 12k words, we set it down, but we may return someday.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
This is a tough one! All-time, I'm not sure. But at the moment, I'm basically chewing on Durge/Enver Gortash (BG3) and having a great time with it.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Oof, this is a tough one! There's a very old Naruto fic that I don't think I'll ever get back to... Lost Root. I can't really recommend it in its current state, but it was one of my first plot bunnies.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm pretty decent at paragraph-to-paragraph rhythm, and I am unafraid to try new things.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Sometimes I repeat certain phrases without realizing it, and pacing scenes can be difficult for me. I also have a tendency to write excessively long sentences. Trying to improve on that last one!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Seems like a hard sell for both writer and reader.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
StarCraft pro gamer RPF. No, you won't find the fic on my AO3 profile.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
I'm still in love with Roonil Wazlib and the Goblet of Fire, a 2.8k word Harry Potter crackfic I wrote for Bad Bang V. Is it bad? Yes, oh yes. And it's fun, and so are the comments.

My fic year in review
@calaisreno tagged me, so here goes :-)
All in all this was a very creative year in fandom, and fandom was a much-needed source of joy and fun, even though I was recovering from a car accident, worked an insane amount, had Covid, and had a whole load of other RL issues. I'm so grateful to fandom, and writing, and reading fic, it helps so much to have an outlet like this, an escape hatch from RL when it gets too grim. Don't get me wrong, I've had worse years, but it was plenty stressful, and I'm glad I had fandom.
So here goes:
Total number of completed stories: 6 (though one of them is still posting, I completed it in 2022.)
Total word count: about 90k, plus about 10 k at least in unpublished drafts and snippets I'll never finish.
Fandoms written in: BBC Sherlock
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d expected? More, much more. I finished 2021 with a nasty case of writers' block, and I finished 6 stories this year. That's amazing, and I'm glad my flow is back.
What’s your own favorite story of the year? Spare Parts because I got to say some stuff about Sherlock and John I always wanted to say, and I did a whole lot of world-building and plotting.
Did you take any writing risks this year? See above, I practially wrote a Sci-Fi novel.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the new year? There's some stories I want to write, but I wouldn't call them goals. I'm also thinking of participating in FTH, but I'm not sure yet.
Most popular story of the year? Toss-up between Dont' Read the Last Page and All I Want for Christmas (Is Proof), apparetly you guys really like Sherlock and John wearing slutty Christmas outfits and sappy parentlock ;-)
Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: My Hotel Transylvania AU Zing and You'll Miss It sank like a stone, but I had a lot of fun writing it ;-)
Spare Parts is super niche, so it didn't have the "mass appeal" that Bakers had while posting, but I think it'll find its audience, and if only Jrow, me and three other people like it, that's still plenty. I might still be crazy for wanting to write a sequel, but you guys, the amount of world-building I did, I barely scratched the surface. So. I'm not sure yet, but there might be a sequel. (or two, I have two really good ideas)
Most fun story to write: All three stories I wote for the Year of the Crackfic challenge were incedibly fun, especially Speak Now. It was pure wish fulfillment. Also, I stand by my theory that Mrs Hudson could take Mary in a fight.
Most unintentionally telling story: The Bakers ficlets for the Austrian traditions, probably.
Biggest disappointment: Spare Parts contains some conversations and some passages I'm insanely proud of, and I'm not getting that much of a reaction to the parts I really love, so... yeah. But hey, all is relative, and I'm insanely grateful to every single person who reads anything I write.
Biggest surprise: Every year, that people read and like my stuff. Thank you so much, every single one of you.
Also, the grumpy, hurt, bitter 24th century John Watson who kidnapped the rest of my writing year sometime in spring was a surprise as well ;-) This story wasn't even on the list of WIPS and then I was 5k in... (thanks, fake fic title challenge, and thanks, @whatnext2020 for the idea).
Tagging everyone who wants to join in (I'd especially love to hear from @jrow , whose beta skills elevate everything she touches, thank you so much!!! She writes delightful fic, and she saves you all from my appaling inability to write an em-dash. She's a complete and total superstar!)

first lines meme :3
tagged by @whetstonefires
Rules:  Share the first line of your last ten published works or as many as you are able to, and see if there are any patterns
Going through my AO3. Unfortunately, I'm not a very prolific writer (yet!) and most of my writing has been focused on two works; the translated works I can't count, and anything before 2021 I don't want to look at. I'm going to be looking at the first line of each chapter instead. I'm also going to be including the first lines of the newest chapters I'm working on.
1. cathexis; CoD körangi priests AU. A priest returns to the church he was raised in, only to discover a sinister plot at large involving ritualistic murders and mysterious baby disappearances. He joins forces with a man who introduces himself as a Vatican exorcist to solve these mysteries.
“Horangi hyeong.” A small hand tugged at the edge of Horangi’s cassock. “Hyeong-aaaaa.”
“—margin of between 8 and 10%. Despite this, Bell Motors has experienced a rise of 1.8%, while unprecedented losses of 9.6% have been recorded overnight for competitor K&W Mobility—”
“Okay, this is going to be the last one!” Horangi exclaimed, out of breath.
“In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”
(WIP) “We can’t always choose what’s best,” Father Jerome mused. “Sometimes it’s enough to choose the better option.”
2. rays crepuscular (as the sun makes its grave); DSMP vampires/hunters AU. A young vampire hunter deserts his ranks for his best friend, who has been turned into a vampire; they must now escape a city full of powers they can't fight before they are caught up in plots far beyond them.
His best friend lies dying in his arms.
Each tick of the shitty, off-time hotel clock lies in the space between them, every moment stretching and snapping like a rubber band pulled between the thumbs of a bored child in class.
The alleyway that leads to the small abandoned square where its dry, cracked fountain greets him.
I want to tell you a story. It’s about how, a very long time ago, the first vampire came to be.
And a cheer for absolutely fucked up sleep schedules, Tommy thinks distantly, as the incessant ringing of the twin bell alarm clock they’d been provided with in the hotel room reaches through the arms of sweet, sweet slumber and so rudely rattles him.
(WIP) From this day onwards, to the best of my knowledge and abilities, I swear to fulfill this covenant until my last dying breath:
To be honest, I don't think I've been writing enough to be able to derive any kind of meaningful rule from how I open these things. I think I've adopted different styles for each of my more recent works, if only because most of the second one listed here was written before the first.
It may be an unconscious choice on my end, beginning with the tense of each work and including several stylistic differences between the two. But, also, it could just be that my writing style has been evolving over the months I've spent "seriously writing" (or, at the very least, trying to write consistently instead of once a year when inspiration strikes).
Super clearly, with the more recent work I've been writing I've been beginning every single chapter with a line of dialogue. It puts the reader right into the middle of a scene without explaining where this is or what's going on. It does, however, serve to establish or foreshadow some things.
Meanwhile, with the older work. I've begun each chapter with some kind of explanation in most cases? It's a description in the three cases that isn't just someone talking. In the last (unpublished) chapter, the first line after the mantra that the character is chanting is another descriptive line about what the narrative character is doing.
I think I could stand to make the first lines of each chapter shorter and less convoluted in some cases. But then again, the first sentence of a full work as opposed to a chapter within it benefits the work when it's more effective in whatever way you want it to be effective in. Short and concise to be a hook, long and rambling if that serves another purpose. There's so much for me to learn still about writing, but I stand by the belief that anything, if used skillfully enough in writing, can serve a purpose.
Tagging @redactedcrow, @scifimagpie, and... stopping there because I don't have any more writing-prolific mutuals on tumblr. Don't feel pressured to do this. At all.

WIP Theme Tag
Tumblr media
I've been tagged by @tabswrites (you can find her post here). Thank you so much! 💜
Rules: Bold the themes that appear in your WIP (& italicize those that are loosely covered) then tag 10 people.
I did it for my vampire wip La Fledgling (and got inspired so I developed the themes under the cut, if you're curious and don't fear spoilers) ^^
addiction | beauty | betrayal | change vs. tradition | chaos vs. order | circle of life | coming of age | communication | convention vs. rebellion | corruption | courage | crime and law | dangers of ignorance | darkness and light | death | desire to escape | dreams | displacement | empowerment | facing darkness | facing reality | faith vs. doubt | fall from grace | fame and fortune | family | fate | fear | fear of failure | free will | friendship | fulfilment | good vs. bad | government | greed | guilt and forgiveness | hard work | heroism | hierarchy | honesty | hope | identity crisis | immortality | independence | individual vs. society | inner vs. outer strength | innocence | injustice | isolation | knowledge vs. ignorance | life | loneliness | lost love | love | man vs. nature | manipulation | materialism | motherhood | nature | nature vs. nurture | oppression | optimism | peer pressure | poverty | power | power of words | prejudice | pride | progress | quest | racism | rebirth | relationships | religion | responsibility | revenge | sacrifice | secrets | self-awareness | self-preservation | self-reliance | sexuality | social class structure | survival | technology | temptation and destruction | time | totalitarianism | weakness | vanity | war | wealth | wisdom of experience | youth
Softly tagging @liv-is, @chayscribbles, @autumnalwalker & @the-stray-storyteller and anyone else who wants to play and hasn't done it yet (tag me, please 👀). Have fun! 💜
Addiction : Jo and Ana struggle with their addiction to several illicit substances (smoking, pills, intraveineuses…) as well as recreational alcoholism
Communication : Jo and Lou don’t communicate properly, they try but the non-dits keep pilling up and they both hide things from the other. The only aspect of the communication they nailed down is the one about their relationship. They know exactly where they stand with one another at any given moment, the only incertitude is what comes after. There’s no mis-communication because for the most part, they simply do not communicate. Jo does her thing with Ana and Lou does her thing with the Rodin and then Kali, but they never meet in the middle to talk about everything.
Dangers of ignorance : Lou knows nothing about her vampire condition. Everything she knows, she learnt from Ana and Jo, but she doesn’t ask question. She doesn’t want to know what Ana and Jo did to assure her survival, so she looks elsewhere. It comes back to bite her later on, of course.
Desire to escape : Jo and Lou (and Ana, by extension) all wish they could go somewhere else, where all of this would have been a bad dream. They want to escape the reality of what has been done to them and what they did in response to that.
Facing reality : they have to admit there’s no going back ? They have to keep moving forward. Lou has to start making sacrifices if she wants to survive. Jo has to leave. They have to confront the fact that what they dreamt of (having a family, getting married, growing old and dying together) won’t happen because only one of them can die. Jo will grow old and die alone.
Family : the family they lost and the one they built, despite all the differences between them.
Fear : all of them live in fear, and they will have to confront these fears before they can move on.
Friendship : the length you will go to protect your friends. Where will you stop ? Where will you go ? (*sing cotton eye joe under my breath*)
Honesty : facing the truth. It’s more about Kali, Jo and Ana, who will all have to reveal what they have done (all of it and all of them) and who they are (Kali).
Knowledge vs. Ignorance : Lou knows nothing, Jo knows some but the info is outdated, Kali knows all but does nothing with it. At the end of the day, knowledge is only power if you act upon what you know.
Life : can you still live when you are half-dead ? How do you cope with being the only survivor of a brutal attack ? How do you learn to live for yourself ?
Love : love is the central theme of the whole novel. Everything is done out of love, even the terrible decisions, the lies, the omissions, and the murders.
Power : where does power come from ? How do you use it ? Reputation, magic, strength, money… different sort of powers, different use.
Relationships : the invisible strings tying people together, Lou-Ana-Jo, Kali-Jo-Lou, the Covens, the friend group, the antagonists vs the protagonists…
Sacrifice : physical, mental, moral… what do you sacrifice and why ?
Self-reliance : Lou doesn’t do anything on her own, Ana et Jo lui mâchent le travail, but she will have to learn and Kali will beat her up until she stops being so passive. Jo and Ana don’t really need each other, they just like not being alone and working together. They are friends, soulmates, but they are self-reliant. They just chose to include the other in everything.
Time : time running out, immortality/mortality, time as a circle… me growing more and more unhinged as time passes...

20 questions for fic writers
Thank you @discordantwords for tagging me!
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 22 as amaruuk 18 as EllisWard
2. What’s your total A03 word count? 642,619 as amaruuk
3. What fandoms do you write for? Currently BBC Sherlock and Good Omens. Earlier works include dueSouth (tangentially from which I got the name amaruuk, which is Inuktitut for two wolves, though I am the least wolfy creature on the planet), an X-Files/Forever Knight crossover, The Fugitive (movie), Lord of the Rings, a Doctor Who/Escape from New York crossover, and a couple other one-offs. As Ellis Ward I wrote exclusively Professionals (Bodie/Doyle).
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Warp and Weft (Good Omens)
After the War (Good Omens)
Resurrected Mice (Good Omens)
MatchMade! (Good Omens)
Just in Time (Ten/Good Omens Crossover)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Always! I'm thrilled whenever anyone takes the time to comment.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Probably Over Sea, my LotR story which follows Frodo to the Blessed Realm. Its angsty ending comes from the disparity in how time works in Middle Earth vs Aman (much faster in the latter), so that Frodo laments outliving all of those he left behind, though he (and Sam, thanks to the gift of dust and a Mallorn seed given him by Galadriel) is alive at the end.
I live for happy endings. Fanfic is my refuge from the pain of the world and I would never impose an angsty ending on the characters I write (though I might torment them a bit in the body of a story).
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? See 6 above. They're ALL happy. :D
8. Do you get hate on fics? The only story I've written in The Avengers universe incited some particularly intense objections because of my take on Tony. Some folks are deeply possessive of their characters and I understand that. Otherwise, no. Thank goodness.
9. Do you write smut? Yeah, I'm one of those who wants to know what's going where, but without being excessively graphic. So, sex scenes for the sake of smuttiness, no. Sex scenes to convey affection and deep emotion, yes.
10. Do you write crossovers? I've done two. An X-Files/Forever Knight, Act Three, that ended up having a surprising amount of plot. The other featured Doctor Who's Leela encountering Escape from New York's Snake Plissken, A Selfish Way to Commit Suicide, which also worked out surprisingly well. (K-9's in it, too!)
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Once. A very long time ago. Someone took a Bodie/Doyle fic, reworked a bit of the verbiage, and put it out as a Kirk/Spock story (!). The plagiarist (who was understood to be a very good writer on her own merits), sort of stepped into the shadows until the kerfuffle kerfuffled out. Honestly, it didn't bother me overmuch. I was more surprised by how others in the fandom reacted: there was a surprising amount of heat and fervor on my behalf, bless them.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Nope.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? No.
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship? I'm going to be honest and say that it depends on which ship is commanding my attention at the time. I'll always feel a deep fondness for the ships that have gone before, but the current one (now that Good Omens was stabbed in the heart by Neil Gaiman) is Sherlock and John. The writers in this fandom are astonishingly good!
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? I have a handful of outlined stories that I will never write, but I only post completed fics.
16. What are your writing strengths? It's important to me that the storytelling is clear, the characters in character, and the dialogue authentic. I can't say that I always achieve that, but I do try very hard to do so.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? There are times when I would say "everything." When the writing is not transparent, when the reader is seeing the mechanics of my writing, then, yeah, that's a weakness. I try to avoid that.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I am so envious of others able to do this. I can't.
19. First fandom you wrote for? Star Trek. A very long time ago.
20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written? So far, in Sherlock, What It Can Be. Season 4 is an acknowledged insult to the fans, but it also gives rise to a certain compulsion TO FIX; this story deals with the aftermath of Sherlock's drug use and John's abuse of Sherlock in The Lying Detective. In the Good Omens verse, I would have to choose After the War, in which Adam allows Armageddon to proceed, Heaven loses, and Aziraphale is given to Crowley for services rendered. It's actually very dark, with an element of "fuck or die," but in the end they prevail.
I’ll tag @eventhorizon451, if they haven't already been invited.

zukka fics that live in my head rent free!
1. what did you bury before those hands pulled me from the earth (what were you digging) by draco_sollicitus status: complete (18k words) rating: mature pairing(s): sokka/zuko  summary: Sokka is immortal; it's been tested, he knows that he can't die. He's immortal, but he's not quite a god like his sister, Katara. He's immortal, but he's not quite powerful like his friends Aang and Toph. He's just sort of Sokka: good at fixing things, good at playing pranks, good at helping people. When a bet against Toph goes horribly wrong, and an attempt to save him goes even worse, Sokka finds himself the unwilling guest of the Lord of the Underworld. And, strangely enough, every story Sokka's heard about Lord Zuko seems to be ... completely wrong. (Also, he's really handsome. Why does he have to be handsome?)
mythology nerds come get y’all juice. a very good fic. 10/10
2. Where I Want to Be by through-the-stars-to-the-pavement status: WIP (83k words) rating: explicit pairing(s): sokka/zuko summary: "'The fog was where I wanted to be.'" Everything is different. The pitch of his voice, his posture. The auditorium goes silent. No one can take their eyes off of him.… He's amazing.  Zuko had to perfect the art of acting as a child to survive the horrors of his homelife. When he got older, it was only natural to take his talent to the stage for entertainment and escape. Enter Sokka, a craftsman and set designer with a giant heart who is haunted by plenty of ghosts of his own. A tale of trauma, disability, family, creativity, and love.
this is one of my all time favorite fics. it’s seriously so good and i think about it often
3. Teaching a Heart by @i-write-shakespeare-not-disney status: WIP (114k words) rating: teen and up pairing(s): sokka/zuko summary: Sokka is asked to go to the Fire Nation to teach the crown prince how to sword fight. When he arrives, he's surprised to learn he has to pose as a companion before he can teach the stubborn prince because he rejects every teacher. Far from home and among new customs, Sokka struggles to gain the prince's trust and friendship despite the uncertainties of the customs and dynamics he sees. As he slowly finds answers to his questions, his bond with the prince grows until it becomes something far more ardent than friendship. Doomed as it may be with the prince's approaching wedding ceremony and coronation, Sokka and Zuko find themselves consumed by what they find in each other.
i have no words, i just love this fic and it makes me weep.
4. The Road Between Action and Inaction by @donvex status: complete (17k words) rating: teen and up pairing(s): sokka/zuko summary: Sokka does a shitty k turn in the parking lot across from the bus station, pulls up to the curb where the boy is looking determinedly at his phone, and rolls down the passenger window. “Hey! Which way were you going?” He may die, but at least his conscience will be clear. The guy blinks at him. “Don’t.” Oh, he’s prickly. Or: the hitchhiker au, featuring Sokka and Zuko falling in love without even realizing it.
a classic. roadtrip fics own my ass.
5. purrfect for eachother by lesmiserablol status: complete (3k words) rating: general audiences pairing(s): sokka/zuko summary: “Let me teach you how to be a cat person,” Zuko says. “Learning from the master himself,” Sokka grins. “Alright, this can’t be too hard. Show me what you got.” (because sometimes, it takes going to a cat café four times to realize you're in love with your best friend)
this whole series is adorable, reading it is self care
6. Ashes Inside When You Finish Your Song by @muncaster status: complete (47k words) rating: teen and up pairing(s): sokka/zuko, aang/katara, mai/ty lee summary: Sokka writes lyrics for his sister’s band. Zuko plays piano and is unnecessarily nice. Fellas, is it gay to write love songs about your friend and his golden eyes? (AKA, a modern band AU featuring The Gaang, crappy software equipment, homoerotic lyrics, and the realization that maybe, if you think about a guy every night before you sleep, you just might be in love with him.)
i think this is the longest one-shot i’ve ever read and it’s so worth it
7. a study in matchmaking by @verdanthoney status: complete (12k words) rating: general audiences pairing(s): sokka/zuko, aang/katara, bato/hakoda summary: Zuko and Sokka try to play matchmaker, but things don't go exactly as planned.
this fic makes me want to scream, in the best way. it’s so cute
8. A Predictable Story by mindbending status: complete (7k words) rating: general audiences pairing(s): sokka/zuko summary: "On this night, you shall share a kiss with a great love of your life!” That lying, scummy Aunt Wu predicts a grand romance for Sokka. To disprove her "fortunetelling" once and for all, Sokka decides to spend the night with least romantic person he knows. Zuko.
again, i have no words. this fic is cute as hell
9. that’s murder, buddy by @bisexual-atla status: WIP (14k words) rating: teen and up pairing(s): sokka/zuko summary: Throughout the streets, on quiet nights, it was rumored the screams of those missing could be heard. Some say the sounds were coming from underground. Where were the young girls? And what was happening to them? Was an evil spirit haunting Gaoling, or something more human? More sinister? My name is Zuko, and you’re tuning into another episode of ‘That’s Murder, Buddy’. Or: Sokka has no idea that his crush is the host of his favorite podcast. (But everyone else knows.)
i love the entire concept of this one, we love oblivious sokka
10. We’ll play hide and seek (to turn this around) by @crosspin status: complete (5k words) rating: general audiences pairing(s): sokka/zuko, bato/hakoda summary: Sokka gave him a sheepish smile. “It’s…well, you see, there’s this boy…” Hakoda sighed and set down the sports section. This was going to take a while. “He works at Barnes & Noble. At the big information desk in the middle. Every Saturday. And I really want to ask him for his number, but it’s super awkward because there’s always this other guy working the information desk at the same time. He’s old, like you. But I have a plan." Sokka’s eyes lit up deviously. “You come with me to Barnes & Noble today when they’re working and distract the old man. And while you have him distracted, I’ll swoop in and get the goods!” Sokka has a plan to ask out the cute boy at the bookstore. Hakoda is a begrudging participant until he meets the boy's beautiful older coworker.
this fic!! this fic! adorable, incredible, magnificent
11. feels like we only go backwards by @oldpotatoe status: WIP (88k words) rating: teen and up pairing(s): sokka/zuko summary: [Time passes oddly. Between one second and the next, Sokka has the Fire Lord pinned to the wall with his hands around the bastard’s throat. Golden eyes (one gold eye, his mind whispers) widen in shock. “Sokka?” he chokes out. And then he smiles. What the fuck? “Sokka, I—” Sokka slams his head against the wall, once, twice, and the smile wipes off his face. Good. “What,” Sokka bites out, “have you done to my sister?”] Or: An injury leaves Sokka with amnesia. His last memory is of the failed invasion, of leaving his father behind in enemy territory on the Day of Black Sun. Of hopelessness. Rage. But then he wakes up, and the war is over. Suddenly, he must come to terms with the fact that years have passed, and that he's somehow the Southern Water Tribe Ambassador to the Fire Nation. He is also supposedly friends with banished-Prince-turned-Fire-Lord Zuko, of all people. Close friends. Yeah, nah.
if you’ve been following me for a while you know this fic fucks me up beyond belief
12. breakable heaven by @fruitysokka status: WIP (43k words) rating: teen and up pairing(s): sokka/zuko summary: With his twenty-first birthday looming just around the corner, the Southern Water Tribe Elders have decided that Sokka, next in line to be Chief, needs to get married. Sokka does not want that, but he does need to get them off his back until he can figure his way out of it. What better way to do that than to pretend to date his best friend (and newly minted Ambassador to the Southern Water Tribe) Zuko? Seriously, this is a foolproof plan. Maybe one of Sokka's best. Absolutely nothing can go wrong.
this just in: sokka and zuko being oblivious makes me want to yell
this turned out a bit longer than i expected but it also doesn’t even cover all my favorites. i had to stop somewhere, or i’d be here forever. maybe i’ll make a part two someday.
anyway, enjoy!

✩ fanfic writers tag game !
Tumblr media
tagged by : @wooyoung-a — thank you sm omg?? it was funny and interesting to answer the questions !
Tumblr media
tagging : @bloom-bloom-pow, @snuhee, @lost-leopard-beanie & @hooniiverse — i think you are the only people i know who write, do it only if you want, it is not an obligation, im sorry if i bother you :(
Tumblr media
1. what fandoms have you written for (but do not currently)?
back in my wattpad days, i wrote for american celebrities, bts and twice
2. what fandoms are you currently writing?
tbz, skz, txt and enha!! and i want to widen my writing circle, but i'm thinking about doing it later, when i have more time
3. how long have you been writing?
i think ive been writing for ten years now? at first, i just wrote for myself, i was doing message writing collaborations with other people, then i started posting on facebook, then wattpad, and now tumblr!
4. on which platforms do you post your stories?
only on tumblr now!
5. what is your favorite genre to write?
i thinkkk angst, or horror, even if it is probably not my best work, i love writing angst
6. are you a pantser or a planner?
a bit of both i think? i mean, k write down all my ideas so that i can develop them later when i don't have time, but sometimes, the desire to write is so present that i unpack everything in my head at once
7. one-shot or multi-chapter?
actually both — i like one-shots because it's less time and work for me, i can write some in less than ten minutes and post them quickly when i feel like im not posting enough, but i really really like multi-chapter, because i have the impression to embark with my readers in a long story, in which they can escape without problem
8. what is the perfect chapter length in your opinion?
mh none? i think it depends on everyone's preferences. personally i like long writings as much as small ones. there is no length, as long as the writer is inspired and satisfied with his work, length doesn't matter
9. what is your longest published story?
color palette, kim sunwoo — this one probably, because it has 40 chapters, but if we are talking about one-shot i think it is the bet, lee juyeon — with 1239 words lmao
10. which story did you enjoy working on the most?
i think it's color palette, because it was my first smau and also my first time writing in english for people. i was not at all confident, and i was afraid that people would not like it, but i enjoyed writing it and sharing it so much that right now it's what im most proud of, and what i preferred to develop over the chapters, even if sometimes it was a bit messy!
11. favorite request you’ve written and why?
melatonin, bae jacob — i liked to be inspired by the song to write, i liked using some sentences from the song to develop my idea, i like the message it sends back
better, choi chanhee — firstly, because the request comes from a person whom i appreciate and admire enormously, and secondly, because i like the message that i wanted to convey through this work, the love yourslef firsr thing. i think this is something important, and it was important to me to include it in this request
you did well, ji changmin — changmin is my comfort character, when i'm not feeling well, i will often watch the reruns of his lives (or those of eric) and it always comforts me. so write something about changmin comforting someone, gave me the opportunity to imagine his way of comforting people, even if it is sometimes difficult to help someone who is not feeling well
12. are there reoccurring themes in your stories?
i dunno actually?
13. current number of wips?
mhhhh, 10 requests, 3 one-shot, and 3 smau, so i think 16 in total
14. three things you have noticed about your writing?
i use a lot (sometimes too much) punctuation, my conjugation is sometimes awful, and sometimes i do too much repetition
15. a quote you like from a published story?
« you thought you weren't good enough for him, so you wanted to become like him. whereas now you could be perfectly yourself, you loved yourself in every way. and as they say, you can love someone once you love yourself. » — from : better, choi chanhee
« all your defaults make you unique, eric sohn, they make you the person you are. don't blame them. » — from : endless race, eric sohn, chapter 10
16. a quote from an unpublished story?
« but before he left, you made a promise together : on his twenty-one birthday, you will meet up at the place where you first kissed, and if one of you both doesn't come, it will mean that your love story is completely over. » from an upcoming sunwoo's one-shot !
17. space for you to say something to your readers!
i truly couldn't do anything without you, you are what i treasure most here, and if you didn'g always support me so kindly, i think i will have already deleted my blog. thank you for always being there and enjoying my writings, sharing and commenting on them, you may not know how much it means to me, and how happy it makes me. thank you so so so much, i love yall with my whole heart

Thank you so much for tagging me and inviting me to play, @silverutahraptor!
This is fairly long so I’m putting it under a cut.

2. Total AO3 wordcount?

Of that, 481,556 was in 2021.
3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
Okay, this is a lot!

4. Top Five by Kudos?
Escape and Evade (Madara/Tobirama)
Silence is Golden (Tobirama/Izuna)
Caught and Captured (Madara/Tobirama)
Life Come to Life (Tobirama/Izuna)
Wild Wolves (Kakashi/Iruka)
5. Do you respond to comments, why/why not?
Oh, I always respond to comments, and usually within 24 to 48 hours! I love chatting with people about my stories and it often sparks new ideas or helps to conceptualise free floating world building/characterisation which is wonderful.
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
That would be a tie breaker.
Either A World Well Lost (Harry Potter, surprise pairing) or Love Wears a Mask (Naruto, Danzou/Kagami). Both of them are tagged 'Dead Dove: Do Not Eat' for a reason.
7. Do you write crossovers? If so, what is the craziest one you’ve written?
Yes, I do!
The craziest one that I've ever written is The Secret Lives of Marilyn and Susan Short, an homage to The Secret Life of Walter Mitty by James Thurber as well as a commentary on the concept of the Mary Sue in fanfiction.
8. Have you received hate on a fic?
Yes.
I don't mind constructive criticism as a rule, but I've received comments and commentary that definitely crossed the line into rudeness, or that seemed intended to hurt and be destructive.
Some of them, especially on Escape and Evade, actually made me afraid to write about Mito or from her perspective for fear that I would get yelled at again. In several cases, I felt compelled to write long comments defending my authorial choices.
It probably didn't help that Escape and Evade was the first time that I'd written fanfiction in 15 years.
Needless to say, it was not an enjoyable experience for me.
9. Do you write smut?
Yes, I do!
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Thankfully, no. At least not that I'm aware of! I don't think I'm a popular enough author for that kind of thing to happen.
11. Ever had a fic translated?
Nope!
12. Ever co-written a fic before?
Hm, kind of?
People have thrown lines at me which I've spun into stories, and I've worked with the fantastic @kurakura0-0 on fiction and art collaborations!
On a less deliberate note, I also wrote Ariel for which the amazing @good-grievance wrote a sequel, and we published them as a single story because they made better sense that way. However we didn’t really set out to collaborate on it.
13. All time favourite ship?
I don't actually have one!
I'm a multi shipper and I don't really have an OTP in Naruto which is the fandom that I'm currently the most active in.
I couldn't choose amongst all of my fandom ships for a favourite either.
Instead, I offer my oldest ship, the ship that I've had since I was a wee little fan - Gambit/Rogue. My second oldest ship would be Charles/Erik. X-Men was my first fandom.
14. What’s a WIP you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will?
I only have three WIPs that I'm partway through publishing on AO3, and one of them is only a WIP because it ran into the new 75 tag limit and bounced! 🤣
It's actually complete, and the other two are actively being published. I’m committed to publishing a chapter a day on my main series.
All of my other WIPs (of which there are many) are just waiting their turn to be worked on. None of them fall into the category of being unable to be finished.
I only have one work that I've tagged 'Abandoned Work - Unfinished and Discontinued' and that's A Third Wish for Miranda, an original fiction work that would be about novel length if I ever finished it. I still like it quite a bit and I'd love to finish it, but I abandoned it because it ran into a plot hole that I had no idea how to fix. When I wrote it, I didn't have the skills to take it any further. Perhaps someday!
15. What are your writing strengths?
Oooh, I'm not sure! The ability to deconstruct my writing and troubleshoot it when I'm having issues, perhaps. Alternatively, world building.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Oh, too many to count!
My paragraphs are far often too short, my writing isn't as visceral or descriptive as it should be, my smut isn't hot enough or is too repetitive... there's lots of areas that I want to work on!
17. What are your thoughts of writing dialogue in other languages?
I wouldn't mind it, and I often include words in my writing that are from languages other than English. However, they need to be there for a reason and they must be penetrable to the reader.
I could see myself writing two characters speaking in a foreign language in front of a third character who isn't supposed to understand them for example.
18. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter in 2005.
19. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
Oh my, I don't think I could choose!
If I absolutely had to pick, I'd probably say To Tempt a Target simply because it was a story that was so hard to write, but also a story that I put so much of myself into.
Tagging, but only if you want to, no pressure ❤️: @longliveustherecklessandthebrave , @woofgang69 , @heyitswrenn , @hidendumbassvillage , @greyduckgreygoose , @emilx311 , @sqbr , and anyone else who wants to!

For the writing ask game: 2, 5, 8, 12, 24, 27, 31, and 32! That's... a lot. Uhh if that's too much, just pick the ones you want to answer - no pressure! :D
Oh wow, thanks Ish!! Now, this is really long, but so what, so onto the answers:
2. Why do you write fanfiction?
I write fanfic as both a way of saying, “we are here, we see what you have given us, and here is what we can give back. Here is how much your story has affected me and hundreds of fans like me.” and as a way to explore the original work; be that through character studies or worldbuilding or even fix it fics. Fanfiction is a way to connect and interact with others who enjoy the same things that I do.
To me, fanfiction is an escape, it’s a hobby, a way to put my feelings and thoughts into words and explore how that affects both myself and the character. Often, writing in that way means I end up both calmer and happier in the long run :D
Of course, sometimes I write fanfics out of pure spite.
5. What’s the fic you’re most proud of?
Oh, I have so many I’m not sure which to pick! I’m not sure whether to pick the one that started it all (aka my longest), All The Wealth Between These Walls (Will Never Buy The Thing Called Love) or my most popular A Bad Habit of Interfering?
Out of all my fics, I think I’ll have to go with of whispers in the dark and visions of a golden sunrise. I’m not sure why I’m most proud of this one, maybe because it’s pure fluff? Or maybe because I put heaps of effort into formatting?
8. Which character(s) do you find easiest to write?
I write so many it’s hard to pick! Instead, I’ll probably list the easiest ones:
- Merlin - Arthur - Morgana - Gwen - Lancelot - Jack Frost (Rise of the Guardians) - Danny Fenton/Phantom - Number Five (The Umbrella Academy - Klaus (^) - Ben (^^) - Numerous OCs
12. Tell us about a WIP you’re excited about.
Ooooh!!
I have so many WIPs, but the one I’m most excited about/aka working on right now is a fic written by pure spite from Jujutsu Kaisen (the anime version, cause I can’t find the manga), where Junpei lives because fuck you that’s why.
The opening promised so much and then they killed him off so I said to my friend Dee, who was there too and introduced me to the show, “I’m gonna find a fic where the only change is that he lives.” then there wasn’t one. So now I’m writing it.
24. One-shots or multi-chaptered works?
To be honest, I don’t mind. I think it depends on the storyline, and what your fic’s plotline is. I have so many one-shots, and they’re easier to just hammer out and finish, but multi-chaptered fics have a high pay-off.
27. What’s the nicest comment you’ve ever received?
Once again, this is a hard one! I think I’ll have to go with this one from harsassypotters:
OH. MY. GOD. I AM S H O O K. THERE ARE LITERAL CHILLS GOING DOWN MY SPINE. YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT THIS POEM DID TO ME. "queen" this poem?? describes gwen's loneliness as queen so much??? and how she feels like she doesn't fit in?? THAT'S NOT ME SOBBING MY HEAD OFF, NO SIR "clotpole" I. WAS NOT READY FOR THIS. merlin just wants to be appreciated, and it breaks my heart. he has laid down his life and his sanity for arthur's sake, and he only gets insulted in turn, and it is CAUSING ME TO DROWN IN MY OWN TEARS "witch" morgana is so lost in this, doesn't know which way to turn, tries to make up for her guilt with anger. i want to die. the parallels between the three were *chef's kiss* spot on. they're all trapped in a situation they don't want to be in but could never leave, and they're all dwarfed by destiny. The Merlin and Morgana parallels were especially saddening--they both, deep inside, want to be free, but the negative influences in their lives have twisted them until they don't know what to do anymore. I LITERALLY CANNOT DESCRIBE IN WORDS HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS. I DON'T USUALLY LIKE POETRY, BUT I AM *IN LOVE* WITH THIS ONE. question: can i make a remix of this? you don't have to agree if you don't want to, ofc, but i'd love to fix the broken heart you gave me. :)
I think the main reason I love this comment so much is because of the final question: “can i make a remix of this?” and not only did they follow through, but cause I’m in Australia, it was posted on my birthday.
31. Do you have any OCs? Tell us about them!
Oh my goodness, do I ever. aka I have far to many pls stop me now
So the one’s I’ve posted about are Rhys (from my Merlin fics) and Persephone (from my TUA fics), but I have a few original fics in the works, which all include OCs.
There’s the OCs from my original WIP “Modern Magic” about a magical university; Bo (they/them) a seer who is studying divination/prophesy, Lee (she/her) a trans woman who is studying spell creation and magical creatures, and Sammy (he/him) a non-magical and all-round cool dude, who is solidly ride-or-die for the other two.
Then there’s the OCs from my other original WIP “Hellburner” which is basically a wlw romance with fantasy elements; Alice, a blacksmith and hellburner (hellburners can control fire), and Elizabeth, a noblewoman who falls in love with Alice right from the get-go.
32. Summarise a random fic of yours in 10 words or less.
hmmm,, I’m going to summarise No 13. Breathe In Breathe Out
Second-Person-POV delayed drowning, featuring Merlin and genius lines.
Word count: 10 exactly!

Writing Tag Game
Tagged by the best person ever @b99peraltiago, thank you Adele ❤
AO3 name: kamelea
Fandoms: B99 ❤ and Naruto (however i haven’t posted anything yet but i think i will start posting my new multichap ItaSaku fic in a week or two)
Tropes: love me some good ol’ fluff <3 also, I have a kink for pining and slow burn, but i really enjoy most genres, basically everything that is not too angsty
Number of fics: done? 10  wips? i don’t even want to know the number...
Fic I spent the most time on: taking into account that i haven’t finished it yet I’d say Adorably oblivious, but when it comes to finished fics i’d say.... sailing home once and for all?
Fic I spent the least time on: Can anybody find me somebody to love? i wrote it on my phone on my way to work on a subway lol
Longest fic: sailing home once and for all 17k, but the current ItaSaku fic I’m writing is already 30k so...
Shortest fic:  Can anybody find me somebody to love? 3k but there were also some short fics i posted on my tumblr only so i guess those were shorter
Most hits/kudos/comment threads/bookmarks:  Hits - OF COURSE IT WAS SMUT LOL  there was a time when a moment like this wouldn’t ever cross my mind Kudos - lmao same Comments - i guess adorably oblivious? but most of them are ppl asking if i’m gonna finish it lol and me politely hiding  bookmarks - oh that was a nice surprise!  had no idea that you're in deep thanks guys!
Total word count: 73,5 K (WIPs not included)
Favorite fic I wrote:  always and forever  had no idea that you're in deep, not only the process of writing was the best ever thanks for Adele’s help and encouragement, but also I didn’t cringe much when i was rereading it some time ago hahah
Fic you want to rewrite/expand on: I wish I could finish/rewrite Adorably oblivious one day.... also there was that singlemum!Amy fic that i was really excited about, but the idea got so... broad lol i never finished it, but I’d really want to post it one day oh and I almost forgot! I had an idea for a dianetti fic that i even started writing, let me know if you’d want to see that unfinished fic!
Share a bit of a WIP or a story idea you’re planning on:
B99 - the singlemum!Amy fic
They all find out pretty soon, Amy thinking traditions should be damned, she wants to tell them so she does so. Everyone gets really excited, even Gina. They all offer her some help, Rosa and Terry being especially invested. And Jake. Jake's in it more than anyone else (but in like a completely friendly, platonic way as he likes to think). His mum is a bit skeptical of this devotion to Amy's pregnancy, but she's also proud of her son being a reliance for Amy (Karen of all people knows best how hard it is to be a single mum).
There is this one thing Jake does that no one other dares to - he speaks directly to her belly. Well, her child in said belly. Amy finds this a bit weird at first but not for the wrong reasons, quite the opposite actually - it’s just that this kind of affection is reserved for those who are the closest to a baby and Amy blushes at a single thought of Jake being someone close for her kid. He often bends playfully, in a true Jake Peralta manner, saying something like”How are you today, Baby Santiago? Hangin’ in there?” or whenever they’re both working a case and disagreeing he’d turn to her belly and go ”Baby Santiago, can you please tell you mother she's being annoying?” or just simply ”I wasn’t talking to you, Santiago, but your baby.” and her heart beats faster whenever he does such thing.
Naruto - ItaSaku non-mass AU
“We’ll see.” She answered shortly, not really in the mood for such discussion, wiping acidic saliva from her chin. She straightened, one of her hands reaching her face to sweep away those pink strands that escaped Uchiha-san’s hold on her hair, deciding instead to stick to her face covered with ill sweat. And then she stilled. In horror.
Because her ANBU captain, Uchiha Itachi, the prodigy and clan heir, one of the most powerful shinobis in the world ran his fingers through her hair in order to brush them and knot them back together in place. It was her weakened state but also thrilling curiosity, that stopped her from making even one single movement to stop him from proceeding.
It took him less than a minute to gather her hair and tie them in a high ponytail, and Sakura wondered not without amusement whether he gained his skill by handling his own hair. Gorgeous hair, may she add, hoping she would find the courage one day to ask him about his routine regarding his long, silky locks.
She also didn’t miss the amazing detail, that such dangerous hands as Itachi’s could be also so gentle when dealing with her. That was one of the things that made Uchiha Itachi such a special character, she thought. Those many, many sides of him.
This was sm fun, thanks Adele <3 I’m tagging @feeisamarshmallow @amydancepants-peralta @ladysilverraven @exploding-snapple of course only if you want to 💕 take care <3

Fic Writer Intro--MissDavis
I just got back from @ficwritersretreat2019, where we talked about ways to support and promote other fic writers. One idea was to write introductory posts for ourselves, then reblog each others’ posts to spread the word to all our followers. Below I have tagged the other writers who went to this year’s retreat, but even if you’ve never been, feel free to introduce yourself and your own writing. If you tag me, I'll reblog your post, too!
I’m MissDavis and I've been writing BBC Sherlock fic since shortly after s3. Most of my work is Johnlock with some occasional Johnlockary thrown in for good measure. Here’s the link to all of my writing. If you’re looking for something specific, here’s a breakdown by ship and length, along with summaries from AO3:
Johnlock:
Tumblr media
Long fics (50-100+K):
Breakable rated E After John is seriously injured, Sherlock struggles to figure out how to help him, keep himself sane, and maybe, just maybe, get their life back to the way it’s supposed to be. Part 1 of the Breakable Not Broken series.
Full Court Press  rated E College basketball AU: Sherlock is the team’s best shooter. John is the team’s best ball-handler.
Side Effects rated E WIP, currently 10/17 chapters now complete! Sequel to Breakable. Life is a lot better for Sherlock and John than it was a year ago. Yes, John still can't walk and Sherlock is still on antidepressants, but they're married now, and almost everything else is back to their version of normal. They have a dog. Sherlock's solving cases again. But when Moriarty learns of their marriage, he escapes from prison and takes it upon himself to make their lives miserable. Is Sherlock really up to the challenge of catching a criminal whose only goal is to make sure that he and John don't live happily ever after?
Mid-length fics (10-35K):
Chaperones  rated T "You want to pretend to be a couple so we can chaperone a trip to Disney World with Rosie’s class and you won’t have to share a room with a stranger?“
Christmas With You rated T Watch Sherlock, John and Rosie over the years as they celebrate the season as only they can.
Welcome Christmas  rated T Join John and Sherlock at Baker Street as they celebrate Rosie's first Christmas and beyond. From Rosie crawling around the flat as they tiptoe around each other en route to their first kiss, to a happy retirement with a young grandson who wants to be just like Grandad and Papa, this fic shows how Sherlock and John celebrate Christmas together through the years.
Breaking Christmas rated M Join me in some established relationship Johnlock as I attempt to make Sherlock and John participate in some Seasonal Fucking Cheer. Ficlets that are part of the Breakable Not Broken series.
So This Is Christmas rated T Sherlock, John and Rosie celebrate the Christmas season with the rest of their family. It's not always perfect, but they all do their best. Most of the time. AKA the Christmas ficlets that include Eurus.
Clutter-Free rated E 5 times John made Sherlock clean up the flat and one time he didn’t have to.
Short fics (2K-9K):
The Librarians of Baker Street  rated E Sherlock is a cataloguer who's forced to work the reference desk once a week. Which he hates. Or at least, he used to hate it, until the library hired a new reference librarian. Guess who?
Just a Touch rated E John has trouble falling asleep these days. There’s one thing he can do that always seems to help, but he’s stuck in this hotel room with Sherlock and doesn’t think he’ll get the chance. How will he ever find relief and a good night’s sleep?
If You Lead Me rated M Enough time has passed since Mary’s death that John is finally ready to start a new relationship. With Sherlock, he hopes. But given Sherlock’s stated aversion to romantic entanglements, John is a bit worried about being rejected, and doesn’t know how to proceed. Fortunately, there’s someone who can help him along.
Sherlock Is Actually a Cat Person rated E John brings home a kitten. Sherlock is not okay with it.
The Last Time Alone rated E But it wasn’t enough, not for John. He needed more. He needed someone to hold besides a child, and someone to kiss on the lips and not just the top of the head. He needed sly looks across the dinner table and to know if he put Rosie to bed early he might emerge from her room to find a candle lit and dessert served just for two.
The One Where No One Proposes rated G Sherlock inherits his parents’ wedding rings. It’s ridiculous that they mean something to him. He doesn’t plan to do anything with them. Sentiment.
Equal Footing  rated E Sherlock had certainly never shown any interest in women’s footwear, or in seeing John appear as anything but fully male. But five extra inches—that opened up all sorts of interesting possibilities.
Very short fics (under 2K):
Dirty Laundry rated E If they got far enough along, John knew he would stop noticing the steady clanking thump of the washer, but so far he’d been unable to keep himself from being distracted.
A Boyfriend in Need rated G John's in medical school now, but it's Sherlock who's taking care of him today. A sequel to Full Court Press.
Rosie and the Rainbows rated M Sherlock isn’t exactly opposed to Rosie joining the Girl Guides, but he doesn’t really see the appeal, either. It ends up being much worse than he imagined.
To a Better Year than Last rated G After the life-altering events of the last twelve months, John is more than ready for the new year to begin. Short sequel to Breakable, from John's POV.
Training  rated G Sherlock had terrible running form; they would have to work on that later. For now, John just ran, happy that for once Sherlock was the one chasing after him.
Honey Bee rated G Rosie gets stung by a bee. It’s not a big deal, except that it is.
He Sees You When You're Sleeping rated T Sherlock and John return to the Holmes’ family home for Christmas to find that Mummy has redecorated.
Wrong Disc rated G Two years later and DVDs that Mary made before she died are still showing up every now and then. Thankfully.
The Cute One  rated G "This post says that whenever there are three people, there must be one who's the clever one, one who's the cool one, and one who's the cute one.” Rosie looked from John to Sherlock and back again. “So which of us is which?”
Better  rated G Sometimes the world just calls for a bit of comfort. A 221B ficlet.
Let's Go on a Family Holiday (& Then Not Leave the Room) rated T Sherlock looked up, noting that John’s bare chest lacked the glossy sheen of suncream that he had been anticipating. A 221B ficlet
Johnlockary
Tumblr media
Could Be Fun 36K words, rated E This is the first fic I started writing when I got into the Sherlock fandom. John, Sherlock and Mary embark on a new stage of their relationship. Nine chapters of smut and snark, canon-compliant through series 3.
The Life We Choose 16K words, rated M Based on the "30 Days of Sherlock Challenge,” a series of ficlets from the points of view of Sherlock, John, Mary, and, of course, Alice Watson: I have three parents. Some of my friends have three, too, or even four, but none of them has three who all live together, which makes me the luckiest out of all my friends.
Imagine the Christmas Dinners 15K words, rated M A series of Christmas-themed ficlets, featuring Sherlock, John and Mary over the years, with appearances by Baby Watson, Mummy Holmes, Mrs. Hudson and Lestrade.
Better Off Together 9K words, WIP, now complete at 16K! Rated M What if everyone lived happily ever after? Yes, I’m still writing this, maybe 1 or 2 chapters left to go!
An Afternoon Interruption 7K words, rated E Still the only John/Sherlock/Mary/Sally fic on AO3!
The Clothes You Once Wore  4K words, rated E Mary took a deep breath and conceded to herself that maybe she did want to put on the assassin outfit and tie him to the bed and have her way with him. Maybe Sherlock had just known it before she did. Possibly my favorite short fic I’ve written.
Got You Pegged 2K words, rated E Sherlock could think of six different ways they could make it fit using common household items he had in the flat, but he didn’t think he could wait that long.
The Space Between 2K words, rated E This one is really more Johnlock than Johnlockary. Written as part of the Come At Once 24-hour porn challenge.
Safe Not Sound   2K words, rated E "Oh, come on. I'm willing to put up with all this 'gun safety' nonsense you and John are insisting on, the least you could do is give me what I want in return."
Brand New Day 1500 words, rated T Breakfast, babies, and three people trying to do their best.
While You Were Sleeping  1K words, rated E “We—” Mary started and Sherlock pressed his fingers a bit harder against her leg. She inhaled. “He’ll wake up.”
Storage Space  695 words, rated M Sherlock has his own space at John and Mary’s house now. The first fic I ever posted!
Bed rated T It’s a bit tight, but they all fit. A 221B ficlet.
Other Ships or Ship-free
All We Have  5K words, rated T, Gen. My angsty, pre-series 4 interpretation of what might have happened to a third Holmes brother.
One Night, Twenty Weeks 4K words, rated E, Mary/Molly. Mary has a problem. Molly helps her out.
Actually, the Baby Sits on You 3K words, rated G, Gen. Sherlock watches the Watsons’ baby for the first time.
Tea for Three 2K words, rated E, Mrs. Hudson/Mrs. Holmes/Mr. Holmes. Mrs. Hudson had been with many men over the years—older, younger, single, divorced, married and seeing her on the side either secretly or openly—but this was the first time she had ever been with a man while his wife lay right beside them.
Tiny Little Pieces 1594 words, rated G, John/Mary. They watched to the end of the DVD; Sherlock smiled and winked at them and John flicked off the screen again. “So. That’s Sherlock.” He gave her a smile that was even more forced than the one Sherlock had just displayed. “It’s funny. I’d almost forgotten what he sounded like.”
Not in the Job Description 1,505 words, rated E, Sherlock/Sally. The case has Sherlock stumped, and John’s not around to help him focus. Someone has to step up and help him clear his mind.
Once He Is Gone 1K words, rated T, Gen. John is fine at Sherlock’s funeral. Of course he is. Why wouldn’t he be? He’s been to funerals for so many of his friends. Why would Sherlock’s be any different?
When Mary Met Sally 766 words, rated G, Gen. Sally stops by Baker Street with a case but finds out that Sherlock isn’t home.
Kick  Gen, rated G. Mary is pregnant, John’s not speaking to her, and Sherlock’s still in hospital. A 221B ficlet.
