episode 0 yangyang gets cussed out by a man.

yangyang is tired.

yangyang is so tired.

if he could create a time machine and go back to the moment he decided he wanted to study mechanical engineering, he would've punched past yangyang right in the face and thrown him out of the window, because what in the world was he thinking?

he truly has no idea why his professors decided to assign him all this work on a friday. friday's are for relaxation, drinking, and oversleeping (at least in ten's words). he wants to do nothing besides sleep, but there's a slight little issue with that.

three days ago, wednesday, he said something along the lines of "yeah sure fortnite friday" after jeno asked if they could play, he wasn't thinking straight he thinks, because why would he agree to that?

yangyang was probably zoning out at the moment, he assumed friday wouldn't have him as tired as it really does, because he can't stand staring at his computer. he's about to smash it to smithereens, probably not the best time to be playing battle royale games.

with the silence currently enveloping his room, yangyang slowly begins drifting off against his will, his head resting against his computer desk.

"yangyang!"

yangyang startles, accidentally hitting his forehead against his desk. he winces, rubbing his forehead. of course he had to keep his headphones on, what an idiot he is.

"what? god, jeno did you have to yell?"

"if i didn't yell you probably would've fallen asleep" his voice conveys rudeness, but jeno is just so inherently nice that he can't even come off as mean no matter how much he tries. "..don't tell me you were actually falling asleep".

"nope, totally wasn't".

"you're horrible at lying, you should work on that".

well well well, donghyuck, though yangyang doesn't hang with him often, sarcasm is truly one of his strong suits. maybe he just found out that he was good at insulting people casually and decided to stick with that for the rest of his life. he is pretty great at insults, yangyang agrees, he didn't exactly take him for a guy who enjoys playing battle royale games but oh well.

"be nice, hyuck".

"what do you mean be nice? that wasn't rude, i was just being honest with your friend here".

"it's.. alright" yangyang readjusts his headphones, clearing his throat. he plays with his necklace, how long has the game been paused for? he doesn't remember, but his character has just been standing still for a while. "can we just play?"

"that's what i've been asking for the past few minutes, yangyang, how tired are you?"

"you could go about it in a sweeter way, donghyuck".

"no thanks!"

yangyang rolls his eyes.

the game is..okay, yangyang is playing worse than he usually did, probably the exhaustion from his absolutely draining week, his head continues falling down, and he has to continue waking himself up because he's probably going to make them lose.

well, it's not his fault for his shitty week.

maybe he shouldn't have agreed to playing today.

"wow pink boy sucks".

now that's a new voice.

yangyang knows the voice is referring to him, because no one else has a character more decked in pink than he does. yangyang isn't new to being insulted over shit like this, so he laughs, a small chuckle, one not meant to be heard.

"wow thanks".

the words leave his mouth before he gives his brain the okay for them to, he leans his chin against his hand, sighing. "not the first time i've heard that".

"aww, my apologies then".

his voice conveys sarcasm, much sarcasm, but yangyang has to admit, his voice is kinda nice. is that a weird thing to think? he hopes it isn't, because that's all that's running through his mind at the moment.

a pretty voiced boy just insulted you.. do you really mind it?

no he doesn't.

wait—

"you don't sound apologetic".

"i don't know what more you want from me, pinkie".

yangyang can't stop the way his lips quirk up at the words, the nickname is so basic, so stupid, but it somehow makes him smile. he almost giggles, yep, giggles, but he resists the urge for once. "i need a tear stained apology from you".

"is that what you deserve?"

"yep".

it's a weird exchange, but yangyang doesn't mind it, he's met weirder people while playing games on a friday night, this guy with a nice voice is just a nice perk.

was a nice perk he could say.

yangyang isn't new to the idea of toxic people, he's heard some not-so-nice things in reference to himself, but they never truly got to him, because he's unfortunately said some not-so-nice things to other people.

"oh i destroyed you".

he's proud of himself, obviously, winning a game in his tired, overworked state. it's not like yangyang was bad at games or anything, he was just doing horribly tonight, this was like, his only win.

"that was just dumb luck".

"that sounds like an excuse".

yangyang snorts to himself, this pretty voiced boy is just a little mean, but yangyang still likes his voice, it scratches his ears just perfectly.

okay now that does sound creepy, if he were to say that out loud, ten would never let him live it down.

"oh you think that's so funny you—"

and the boy just continues and continues and continues, saying just some of the meanest things he can think of. yangyang has to be honest, he admires the dedication of this pretty voiced boy to use every cuss word in the book.

he's going a bit overboard, so yangyang takes off his headphones and turns off his computer. he doesn't leave the game, he doesn't even say goodbye, just turns off his computer.

why was that kinda hot?

wait WHAT?

oh yangyang is a lost cause.
