Constantly transform your thoughts
Constantly work hard on transforming your thoughts. In every action, watch your mind and transform your thought. When greed arises, meditate on impurity; when arrogance arises, meditate on non-self. The moment a thought arises, transform it without delay, and your practice will improve.

When you are ungrateful, you tend to forget others’ kindness
When you are ungrateful, you will look at others’ faults. Why? Because you tend to forget others’ kindness. You remember what you have done for others, but take others’ kindness for granted. When others are in need, you don’t remember their kindness, and won’t make every effort to help them.

Believe in cause and effect
Our personality, appearance, birth, aging, illness, and death are all related to what we’ve done. Therefore, we should be very careful about our actions. Those who deeply believe in cause and effect won’t speak recklessly or find fault in others.

Generate renunciation first, and then Bodhicitta
Only after generating renunciation, will one think of how to save others from the mire or the house on fire. Without a true and strong aspiration to escape from samsara, how can one think of saving others? For a beginner Bodhisattva, it’s essential to first generate renunciation and then Bodhicitta. This sequence can’t be surpassed.

A person who doesn't apologize is not a Bodhisattva
Some practitioners consider their self-image as very important and don't willingly confess their wrongdoings or apologize. They are in trouble. Never admitting to being wrong or acknowledging mistakes is a major karmic obstacle! They know that they've made a mistake, but are not willing to admit it. They know that they've made a mistake, but are not willing to admit it.

Benefiting sentient beings
To benefit sentient beings, we should try our best to free them from sufferings. To eliminate their sufferings, we need to let them know the cause of sufferings and guide them not to accumulate it anymore, instead of satisfying their desires.

Before practicing patience, first practice generosity
Why is the perfection of generosity important? Because you are always too worried about gains and losses, thus it’s difficult to overcome hatred. Your attachment is too strong, and you are unable to let go of what you are attached to. When someone hurts what you consider as yours, you will have strong hatred. We get angry, because what we like are damaged, and worldly things such as benefit and fame are hurt.

Practice Bodhicitta in this way
When you see someone without enough virtue roots, tell yourself: we were like that in our past lives. When you see a good practitioner, rejoice and think: I will be like him one day. Start your practice from your fellow Dharma friends, and regard each one as yourself. By doing so, you will definitely attain achievement in this lifetime, and our Dharma is sure to spread all over the world.

Facing Controversies
When facing a controversy, it is best to keep objective and calm, as we lack the wisdom and ability to know the truth. Our afflictions - jealousy, anger, and greed - often make us prone to thinking that we are right and passing judgment. This is our most common mistake, so we must reflect on ourselves carefully.

The continuation of similar items is deceptive
In our daily life, meditating on subtle impermanence is especially important. For the continuation of similar items, meditate that it’s changing moment by moment. In this way, you won't find its nature, and your attachment will disappear. We consider things as changeless, so we become attached to them.

Ordinary people only care about short-term benefits
We must always be mindful! Having too many deluded thoughts in our daily lives, we tend to judge others in a wrong way, anytime anywhere. If someone is slightly unfavorable to you, you will immediately start to resent him; if someone is slightly kind to you, you will start to cling to him.Ordinary people are small-minded and only care about short-term benefits, so they have no equanimity.

To practice patience, let go of your self-image first
The most important tip for practitioners is: don't look for faults in others. If we can really do this, everyone will have achievement. Just do this, and you can achieve it. As long as you don't look for faults in others, whether your fellow practitioners or sentient beings, just look for faults in one person - yourself, then you're sure to have achievement.

Only compassion can pacify anger
No matter how someone hurts and offends us, it is due to his afflictions and negative karma. If we respond to him in the same way, we will be afflicted and angry like him, and then hurt each other and fall together. Therefore, the Buddha said: “Anger cannot pacify anger, but compassion can; killing cannot stop killing.”

Meditation is an art
Meditate, otherwise whatever I taught is useless and becomes a sort of knowledge for you. What cannot be put into practice is mere knowledge: you’ve known and memorized it, but that doesn’t mean you can put it into action. Without action, you will get nowhere. Therefore, meditation is an art, which is creative and inspirational.
