He gets shot by the end of E05 and there’s still some light recovery in E07, but the king of them all is E06, it’s filled with field medicine goodness and flashbacks of him drugged and chained to the floor by the Machines. Lightning Flash:  (collection of short angsty things, many of them with whump, some character death, etc. barry whump, a lot of cisco whump, even some eddie, hurt/comfort, etc)

Lightning bug :  Months after the defeat of Zoom, Barry’s main concern (aside from the odd metahuman attack) is helping Joe and Iris raise the four and a half year old Speedster Wally West, Cisco-named “Lightning Bug.” And while that’s hard, it’s nice to have this speedster as family, not an enemy. Things are pretty easy.Unfortunately, that doesn’t last. After all, General Eiling’s deal was only good for as long as their mutual enemies were still a threat.

I also have a fic called miles through the night that I… haven’t touched in almost a year oh god why am I like this) that is /just/ getting into the seriously whumpy stuff but for now i don’t think it’s whumpy enough to put here.

Whump Rewind 2020

Welcome to the 3nd annual Whump Rewind!  Back in late 2018, an anon suggested a “rewind” of notable whumpy moments from the year. Fics, tv, movies, tropes, community events, whump you’ve just discovered, etc, these are the moments that made you happy; and that’s so important! 

2020 was a rough year, and we didn’t get a lot of new content unfortunately, so this may be a short list!  What we did get was pretty nice though!  As always, thank you all for another year of support, inspiration and fun.  And also thank you to those who helped me build this list! <3
