Summary: Wei Wuxian’s time on the streets left a deeper wound on his mind. Lan Qiren finds him having a panic attack after being triggered during his punishment.
Kay's comments: A short look into a different universe where life on the streets left a more noticeable mark on Wei Wuxian and Lan Qiren is a little kinder. Really loved it. Sometimes, I can't help but crave good guy Lan Qiren stories.
Excerpt: “Wei Wuxia-!” He stops himself as he takes in the scene.
Wei Wuxian is on his knees, supporting himself on the door frame as he heaves raucously.
Lan Qiren couldn’t make himself move, petrified by the possibility of soiling his robes. For a moment, he feels sorry for the boy.
“Wei Wuxian,” he begins to scold. “I cannot believe this. Have the Jiang coddled you so much you cannot even tend to spoiled scraps?”
He turns at Lan Qiren’s voice, revealing a tear streaked face, a ruined handkerchief held to his nose.

13/30 days of self care
Today I wrote a lot for my thesis, I am almost done with the first draft of the first chapter. This activity occupied the majority of my day, but I still managed to practice Irish on duolingo, and read a bit. Self care things I did today:
Read first thing in the morning
Journaled
tranquilstudy's studying challenge // day 17
Spring is in the air this time of year! Share some photos of nature and tell us your favourite types of plants and flowers!
I cannot for the life of me pick a favourite plant or flower. I have a particular affinity for medical herbs, and in my garden I mostly plant those either to make herbal teas or to cook. But at the end of the day I adore trees, as well as flowers, there's something about them that brings peace to my soul. The picture of the lavender is from a trip I took last year, it was magical to be surrounded by these herbs and flowers.

Julia: When you said study group I didn't expect these many people.
Kit: Study Group, woo!
Daisy: How is everything always "woo" with you?
Becca: The more, the merrier.
Julia: I feel like I really recognise you. Have we met?
Emiko: Yes, I'm one of Grace's-
Julia: Oh! Wait! I've seen you with Valeria.
Emiko: Not what I was about to say, but you know Valeria? She's my best friend.
Julia: We're in the same organisation.
Emiko: Oh, the Gardening Club?
Rose: Sounds like something I'd enjoy.
Julia: Gardening?-
Kit: Yes! Exactly! The Gardening Club!
Emiko: What kind of reaction is that?
Kit: Oh, er…
Rose: They're probably a secret society pretending to be a gardening club. Classic. Just leave it.
Julia: What does is say on that board?
Becca: It's just some information about the third year students' graduation.
Becca: Wait… Do you need glasses?
Julia: Maybe…
Becca: Maybe you should go have a check at the optician.
Julia: But I don't think glasses would suit me.
Becca: Use contacts then.
Julia: They seem scary.
Becca: Why do you think glasses wouldn't suit you?
Julia: I feel like I'd look old.
Becca: Would it feel better if I wore my glasses more often, instead of contacts?
Julia: Maybe…
Becca: I could also go with you to the optician, if it's scary.
Julia: Sure.
Kasen: Can I join? I need glasses too, but I've been putting it off.
Emiko: Same here…
Becca: Let's go all four of us!
Kasen: Awesome.
Becca: I should probably check my eyes too anyway.
Author's note: I won't play the visit at the optician, seems kinda boring to play tbh 😂 So, next time Julia, Becca, Kasen, and Emiko appear they'll wear glasses. Btw, this was the last time Julia wore this outfit in my story, it's time to retire it.

Good Omens Fic Rec: Lavender Coffin
“If Aziraphale had been in any way inclined, he would have been worried about the damnation of his soul if Heaven ever saw what he was up to. He never worried, though, because they couldn't see a damn thing. Aziraphale was not doing anything that involved Heaven at the moment, he was simply spending time with the humans, and as result, his lifestyle was completely invisible to them. They never bothered him, and he was free to act as sordid as the rest of the era if he so chose to.”
~~~
Aziraphale loves the 1920s, and he only wishes that he could share it with Crowley. Unfortunately, the more time that Aziraphale spends with the humans, and the more drunken letters he writes to his absent “husband”, the more he discovers the darker undertones to the era he thought he fitted right into.
Eventually, he begins to spiral into questioning his own loyalties, and he desperately needs somebody to save him. It’s rather ironic that the only person who can is a demon, and one which Aziraphale hasn’t seen for over 70 years.
Length: 12,328 words
AO3 Rating: Teen and Up
Best for: Safe in Public, Angst
Triggers: Period typical homophobia
*Minor Spoilers* Tender, yearning heartbreak is the mood for this piece. This story is a glimpse at what Aziraphale was up to in the 1920s, inspired by Bright Young Things. It is written to where it can fit right into the canon, but I prefer to see it as a slight step off canon and its own branch. Aziraphale is struggling to reconcile with his feelings on the division of Heaven and Hell and how religion is being used to harm queer people. Of course, this isn’t the first time Aziraphale has encountered these moral dilemmas. What’s different is, he is without Crowley after their Holy Water fight and has finally found a community with the humans. As the decade starts he falls in love with the flamboyancy of the times, but it quickly dissolves into manic despair. He is unable to process the horrors of humanity, his desire and shame over what he isn’t supposed to have, or his overwhelming loneliness for the one being who is no longer at his side. It’s all a bit too much, so he copes by letter writing, partying, and drinking. This is a very melancholy story, but does end on a gentle note. I prefer to think that whatever happens next in this timeline, it’s not the same as the tv universe. Aziraphale makes some great strides in his view on “sides”. I want to think that in this universe, he would have openly chose humanity’s side a lot sooner. Overall a very good story, sometimes a some beautiful angst is just what you need. Safe in public, maybe best at home though!
