Summary: Loki is thoroughly fed up with his birth family and comes to you (his witchy spouse) for comfort

You shuffled around the kitchen, deep in thought, unaware that you were humming a soft tune. You hung yet another bunch of thyme to one of the hooks by the window to dry, taking in its scent for a moment.

Today had been a day of tireless planning and you found comfort in the familiar cooking up of a magical brew.

It was nearing Loki and your fifth anniversary and while he might as well have forgotten, (he had a mysterious principle concerning 'anniversaries are no more special than any other night of courtship',) you were determined to make it your best one yet.

The two of you were both quite the romantics and appreciated the quality in one another greatly, although your shared evenings often had to be spent hidden from prying eyes. You were not the kind of witch Freya was, and as supportive as your husband's mother was of your marriage, Odin - and with him the entire kingdom, apparently - was not.

Therefore, it had been a significant struggle to shape plans that for once didn't take place in an abandoned field or a faraway forest - not that those wouldn't forever be your favourite nights.

But you had a plan now that ought to work. A stunning golden ring, a homemade dinner, a fancy bar with trusted workers, a ballroom reserved just for the two of you with a magical source of music... Yes, it would do just fine.

Tearing you from your thoughts you heard rapid knocking that you assumed stemmed from Loki. Not many even knew the whereabouts of your expertly hidden cottage.

Quickly drying off your hands, you hurried to the door, soothingly calling out: "I'm coming, love. Just a moment."

You fingered the unusual door handle for a few moments before the door swung open, but your cheery smile was met with a menacing scowl.

"What's wrong, my beloved?" you spoke softly, closing the door behind him and then taking his face in your hands. "What has that damned father of yours dared this time?"

A moment's silence, in which he led you to the kitchen, slumping into a chair so that you sat across from him.

"I can't believe him!" he said suddenly, taking you momentarily off guard. "And Thor could have stood up for me, too, you know. But he's just a bloody oath, isn't he? Couldn't say a word against his father. Not until he has the crown, at least."

You laid a gentle hand on his knee, tilting your head so that he might continue.

"It's... That- That man spent minutes listing all the reasons I couldn't have claimed the throne even if my brother couldn't take it before me. I wasn't even speaking of it! I get the feeling he brings it up as often as possible just so that he can humiliate me concerning that topic again and again.

'He said- Oh, so, you see, apparently I'm incompetent, weak, do not know the line where negotiation must end so that war can ensue... and much more, of course. And to top it all off, he said I was unfit for the throne simply because at times I may think and be as a woman might. What reason is that? As if my mother couldn't rule infinitely better than him, not to mention you, or even Sif. He has no right!"

You could see the tears collecting in Loki's eyes so you stood to firmly wrap your arms around him.

"It's not right," he murmured against the fabric of your shirt.

"No, my love, it's not." You glanced back at the kitchen, quickly rethinking your plans. "Let's stay in tonight. I made dinner."

You couldn't completely dispel the tinge of disappointment you felt from all the work that had flourished into planning, but it didn't matter. Whatever he needed.

"Thank you," he said absently, staring through the window. "Do you agree? Is Thor truly that much better? Would you rather have taken-"

You cut him off before he could finish: "No, of course not. I love Thor like my own brother, but he is not clever or witty or handsome like you... neither can he recite poetry or negotiate with a wild bandit as well as he could defeat them. That's all you, darling."

He stared up at you from where he sat, still teary-eyed and nearly awe-struck. "Thank you," he said again, but this time it was barely a whisper.

"I need you to understand that for any fault you may have, I would take you over any other in this world or the next. Do you? Do you understand?"

"Yes."

"And even if you were not fit to be king, which I do not believe, you would be a better one than your father, and you will find yourself talented enough to do anything you set your mind on. All of it."

His hand reached up, cupping your jaw as he smiled, pulling you down gently so that your lips brushed against one another.

"Happy anniversary, love," he breathed.

"Thank you," you answered.

Heimdall and Thor's mother genuinely like Jane without even meeting her. Others don't like it or don't care.

When Odin threw him on a backwater planet, he didn't know his son will find the next Queen there. As is shown, he has had many lovers before in his 1500-year-long life, but with Jane, everyone just knows he's dead serious about her.

Also, everyone just knows what happened on Midgard: Odin in his Odinsleep, Loki makes a r*pey comment about paying her a visit (what the f?), Sif and Frigga talk about her (though this could be Sif recounting her experience on Midgard to the All-Mother but the point is that they know), and of course, the all-seeing Heimdall.

I'm assuming the word spread (accentuated by the Warriors Three) and the general public also has an inkling about their Crown Prince's dalliance with a Midgardian maiden on his exile.

1. Odin is obv unapproving because she's not a blue blood like them - a royal or even an Aesir. She is as far away from being an ideal daughter-in-law as she can be. He pushes for Sif. And his argument for that is this:

*clenches fist* We need to talk about this line.

This is his view of a Queen, that she'd serve the King like a servant by bearing him children and present herself to being used by him whenever he pleases. That's vile.

He's not in favor of Sif, he just wants Not-Jane. Anyone but a lowlife Midgardian. Why? Because her flimsy lifetime makes her unfit to 'serve' the King. And an Aesir woman would be able to do it better. The Aesir women 'lying' in front of him like things!

What's worse is that Thor doesn't even react to his father's abhorrent way of thinking :(, he's so used to it. Thor would never treat his Queen this way, jeez! But Reddit and Tumblr keep telling me how great it is that Thor is given parallels with this man in Thor3 and Thor4 as tho he was a positive influence on him :)

I thought Odin would eventually come around on Jane but his hostility only increases when Frigga dies 'because of her'. And he just never approves of her till he lived, not even for his son's sake :( I headcanon that Odin stayed near Thor and Jane's home when he was exiled by Loki and saw how happy Thor was with her.

2. Loki is actually understanding of how much wrong Thor is doing to himself by setting himself up for much bigger hurt. He should cut ties now when it will hurt less rather than later when she dies in a fraction of his lifetime anyway, leaving a gaping hole in his heart.

He's right but no one understands the predicament my man was stuck in. He had already done what Loki is saying by breaking his promise and not going back so Jane could move on with her life and contented himself with looking at her from Asgard. But when she got in mortal danger because she was looking for him, he can't just leave her now. He had to do justice to her this time, All-Father be damned.

I find it fascinating that Odin's opinion of Jane was about kingship and Loki's was about love and companionship.

3. Frigga and Heimdall are fully approving of her :D She has all but accepted her as her daughter-in-law and given her blessings to them. She died saving her. What more can you ask of her?!

And Heimdall is the only one who knows about his longing for her (that little laugh when he first asks her if he can see her at the end of Thor1). He knows how much Thor hurt himself by asking about her every day when he was never going to go back.

Also, I'm certain the Aesir people will be pretty accepting of her as their Queen, given how peaceful they're shown to be. :)

okay actually i think this is. at least a little deliberate. it's a test/trap for the w4. maybe one he came up with in the moment, maybe even after the first micro-undermining (lowering their fists from salute when they see who's on the throne), but still...

loki does this insincere little speech, not fully making eye contact, with a quaver in his voice and the slightly childish detail of calling the king "Father" rather than "my father" when talking to a third party, and he watches to see if they'll listen to him. and then he stands up and drops his voice half an octave. it's like. "oh is this how you see me? i don't care. it shouldn't matter how you see me. i'm still fucking royalty."

which i guess means he's trying to shame them. it's intimidation but there's also... an attempt to prove a point? which is not exactly trying to win allies, but it's as close as he's getting in this state.

but they don't see him proving a point. they don't have the subtlety or self-awareness to realise he's being like that on purpose. so they just go Oh No. A Liar And A Villain.

So they're basically saying they want him to be right but still be framed as wrong and blamed anyway whereas Sylvie can be as selfish and bad as she wants but in the end be framed as right. Isn't that the summary of ep6?

If anything that confirms what I said last year, that if you keep ep6 exactly the same but switch Loki and Sylvie's roles these fans would go from "Sylvie was right and Loki shouldn't have tried to stop her" to "Loki is a villain, how selfish of him to kill HWR, Sylvie was right for trying to stop him".

That "moral Loki" being framed in the wrong wouldn't be so surprising anyway, it's happened many times before in the movies, or have they forgotten how he tried to stop Thor from starting a war with the Jotuns, only to return to Asgard and have the warriors 3 and Sif doubt him and question the legitimacy of him being on the throne but not a word was said about Thor risking their lives in Jotunheim?

They just want to see Loki being treated like shit again for no reason.

I have a few anons I’ve gotten that are a bit negative; and some straight hate anon, I’ve deleted majority. I’m replying to this bc u asked a honest question. I share the open letter (link for context) when it’s updated because I agree that the gender rep was done poorly, and there were plot holes. I understand many ppl like the strip tease scene but I personally felt the context was uncomfortable. So I liked that section of the letter as well. My opinion on that is irrelevant to what I think about Sylki. What I think of any ship or context for that matter, has nothing to do with this blog being a safe place for all shippers. Even if you don’t ship Enchantricks or like Amora, I don’t mind people being here for just Loki content. I don’t share attack posts on any ship here.

No I don’t personally ship Sylki but that’s ok, I don’t ship a lot of things. That doesn’t mean my followers can’t or I have anything against Sylki shippers. I can still think there’s very talented Sylki artists and still have friends that ship Sylki.

The hate anon I’ve gotten concerning Sylki is so exhausting but ik not all Sylki shippers are like that. The same way not all Amora fans are angry. I am personally genderqueer, I think the GF rep that was promised to us was non existent and assigning Sylvie as the sole female felt hurtful, but that doesn’t mean I’m about to gatekeep another Loki ship or anything. Ship wars are petty and exhausting. I understand why ppl might be upset by some ships but they’re entitled to feel that way. The same way someone can feel Amora ships are bad bc she’s a villain. Even if you think one ship or another is problematic that’s fine, you can enjoy problematic media and still want better to be done. Im a multishipper myself. Enchantricks being canon does not mean I want everything canon.

TLDR: I don’t ship Sylki personally or any MCU Loki ships bc I don’t see any chem. but Sylkis are welcome here even if they hate Enchantricks. Okay first of all this movie was pointless.

What I didn't like?

Stage four cancer and she looked so fresh like do they know how bad stage four cancer looks especially when she's getting chemo?

Valkyrie ..why was she even in the movie? She had better screentime in Ragnarok

Jokes out of everything

Sif was almost dying and lost an arm but that was a joke?

Overdone goat screams, it stopped being funny after three tries.

They used Loki's death as a joke again which was bleh but seeing him dying three times from previous movies for three seconds was somehow worth it.
