“A yellow kind of day”

Harvesters Comic

Wow, finally finished. Felt like this took forever!

But I’m pretty happy with how this little mini comic came out (not connected to the current comic).

For some context on the characters here, these are the main characters: Oliver (dark hair, yellow jacket) and Ryder (yellow hair). They have a deep platonic relationship, similar to brothers but past best friends, like platonic soul mates :)

A lot of this is explored in the actual harvesters comic I’m currently uploading here, even connecting to some more magical stuff!!

Anyway, this piece is about 15” x 7.5” and is drawn with pink pencil, black pen, black acrylic ink, silver gel pen, white gel paint, yellow paint pen, and some toned paper :) all of this stuff I’ve been either given or had for so many years I couldn’t tell you where it’s from hahahaha

I’m gonna start giving estimates on how long a drawing takes. This one was about 30 minutes.

I definitely think rabbits are one of my favorite animals. I wrote a short story two years ago for one of my classes about a warren of rabbits. It was like a psychological thriller/drama/commentary. I just love what rabbits symbolize 🫶🏻 rabbit symbolism, my beloved

“He narrowly escaped; by just a hare”

Character design of a rabbit named “Close-Call”, who is known throughout his warren as being a bit of a thrill-seeker and a bit in the impulsive side. But Close is also a very protective jack (a male rabbit) and will do anything to protect his loved ones.

He is famous now for his run-in with a small bear-trap. He escaped unscathed and now wears the broken-half of the trap as a trophy.

Just some brainstorming to take a break from Harvesters :)

So I've been using the same micron pens to draw these that I have been using for, no joke, close to 7 years now. And they are DYING!!! I'm getting every cent out of these pens.
