✅ Three categories of Agni (FIRE) ▪︎Jatharagni (present in the gastrointestinal tract). This includes factors responsible for digestion and metabolism at the gastrointestinal tract level. ▪︎Bhutagni (it is five fundamental elements,) corresponding to respective mahabhuta. Those are parthiva (earth mahabhuta dominant), apya (water mahabhuta dominant), tejasa (fire mahabhuta dominant), vayavya (air mahabhuta dominant) and nabhasa (space mahabhuta dominant). ▪︎Dhatvagni is present in the seven body tissue components (rasa dhatu, rakta dhatu, mamsa dhatu, meda dhatu, majja dhatu, asthi dhatu and shukra dhatu) and is responsible for transformation of one dhatu into another namely rasagni, raktagni, mamsagni, medo- agni, majjo- agni, asthi agni and shukraagni.Four types of digestive patterns 1. High- intensity or quick digestion (tikshna) It can tolerate all types of irregularities in the diet. It's seen in the pitta dosha dominant constitution. 2. Low intensity or slow digestion (manda) It can not tolerate even slight irregularities. It's seen in kapha dosha dominant constitution. 3. Normal intensity or normal digestion (sama) It's average intensity and maintains equilibrium. It's seen in an individual with a balanced dosha constitution. 4. Irregular intensity or unpredictable digestion (vishama) It's an unpredictable form that sometimes can or can not tolerate irregularities. It's seen in vata dosha dominant constitution. . . ✅ CAUSES OF HIGH PITTA : ▪︎Eating pitta aggravating foods( pungent, sour, salty, very spicy, deep- fried, processed, red meat) ▪︎Consuming caffeine( coffee), black tea, nicotine( smoking), alcohol and other stimulants ▪︎Too much exposure to the sun. Emotional stress ▪︎Overworking or under resting ▪︎Exposure to toxins — ✅ FIX THE PITTA : ▪︎Bitter, astringent, and sweet foods can help manage Pitta. ▪︎Add grains such as oats, quinoa, rice, wheat, and pasta to your diet. ▪︎Almonds, pumpkin seeds, coconut, and sunflower seeds can also help manage Pitta levels ▪︎Steer clear from heavy foods and consume lighter meals that are easy to digest and don't overburden the already heated- up digestive system. ▪︎Eat fruits and vegetables an hour before the meal or after for the best effect. ▪︎Sweet food items are known to balance pitta in the body and so most of them support the system. — ✅ HOME REMEDIES : ▪︎Consume pitta pacifying foods( bitter, astringent, sweet tasting food). Milk, ghee, and butter are good pitta pacifiers. ▪︎Balance activity and rest. Neither indulge too much in activity nor indulge too much in rest. ▪︎Take regular meals and spend some time with nature and in good company. ▪︎Regular practice of meditation and the following yoga asanas can reduce excess Pitta Child pose, cobra pose, spinal twist, superman pose, moon salutation, corpse posture,etc. ▪︎Cow's ghee, elaichi, and jeera water can also help maintain healthy Pitta levels. ▪︎Include spices such as turmeric, coriander, cumin, and fennel while cooking.
