Announcement:

Alright, I have officially had it with Tumblr not giving a shit about their artists. It is extremely discouraging to share a work that you've worked hard on for hours, days, weeks, or even months, only to get a couple likes. I know nobody is obligated to share every work they see, but small artists like myself rarely get any reblogs at all. I have some followers who add likes to my work but have never reblogged a single thing. Ever. Nobody looks at your likes, and most people have that option turned off. I am done pouring my heart and soul into a piece of art that nobody will care about. I didn’t think this was too much to ask for.

To those few who have supported me and shared my work, thank you so much. I see you and I appreciate you. You’re the reason artists get any exposure (for work that we’re offering for free), and that’s awesome.

That being said, I am moving to Instagram. If I am only ever going to get likes on my work, I might as well move to a platform where that will benefit me. I am not deleting this blog, but I will no longer be posting here for the time being. My other blogs will remain active, but I will no longer be sharing my art there, either.

I love sharing my work with other people; lots of artists do. It’s a very human thing to want to show others something you made that you’re proud of. But trying to do this on Tumblr is just shouting into a void. Tumblr, unlike other platforms, works by reblogs. Likes and tags don’t circulate posts as well as they should. If your work is never shared, no matter how many times you reblog it yourself, nobody will ever see it. That defeats the purpose of sharing anything in the first place. I have been told to just share my work because I’m proud of it, not for any attention. But that is the entire point of sharing it online. Otherwise I would just keep my work in my personal library, never to see the light of day. Wouldn’t you want to show people something you created? Wouldn’t it be discouraging to hear them say, “Yeah, I guess that’s kind of cool, but not enough for me to care?”

I hate having to do this, but my efforts over the years to be seen just haven’t been enough. I can't make anybody understand what this feels like, as much as I’ve tried. Even the PSA posts I’ve shared about supporting artists get more notes and reblogs than my actual art. That doesn’t make any sense. That’s a very transparent way of showing just what one thinks of someone’s art.

I hope one day smaller artists will get the recognition and support they work so hard for.

Stop using mental health terms you do not understand. It spreads misinformation, stigmatizing them, which in turn demonizes us. They are not meant to be used as insults or to just be thrown around.

I want to add definitions to the words above. What do you guys think?

There’s a possibility that I will have to have an NG tube for a little while. I’ve drawn myself with one to prepare for this. I don’t have time to finish this drawing at the moment, but I wanted to post it before my procedure in the morning. Hopefully that should get us a solid diagnosis, whether it’s confirming this one or creating a new one entirely. Then we will decide on treatment, including whether or not a feeding tube is necessary for my situation.

Here’s a more official post with examples of my recent work, as well as the original/new prices.

I also do abstract work. I’m very good with colors.

Pricing

- Abstract Drawings (size might affect price)

One color: $10

Monochrome (B&W or color): $20

Multicolor: $30

- Rainbow line sketches are the same price as normal sketches.

- I am also doing sketch linework now as well as solid. Let me know which one you’d like!

- A “single-colored sketch” has some spots filled in, but I will fill in all of it with normal/monochrome colors for an extra $5.

- I have the right to refuse a commission if I don’t want it/believe it’s beyond my capabilities.

- I work best with a reference picture of some sort, if applicable.

- I am willing to draw animals/animal characters.

- No NSFW, heavy gore (light is fine), or detailed mecha.

- I add in simple backgrounds for free (like above), but I am willing to do more for extra cost.

- I will also do short comics. Each panel will be treated as a separate drawing.

- For more detailed drawings, if you’d like, I will send a progress shot halfway through to make sure you like how it’s turning out.

Remember my pearls from, like, four years ago? I’ve been remaking them. I still have to design their diamonds.

I’ve been testing different pronouns for them. Since Red Pearl is based off of me, I decided to keep the pronouns as he/him. Green Pearl is she/her, and Blue and Gold are they/them.

Red has a “glitch” in his system where he often questions the chain of command, believing that he, and all the other pearls, deserve a higher rank than “servant.” He still remains loyal to his diamond, but as the years go on it only continues to eat away at him.

My chronic stomach pain has been getting way, way worse, so I drew some vent art. I might make more as the nightmare sack and the nope ropes (stomach and intestines) continue to torture me. Hopefully one of my many tests will help us figure out whatever the hell is wrong with them. Especially the stomach.
