It’s February 2017, and the Phantom Thieves have failed.

Reality has been overwritten, and the effects of it have spread beyond the borders of Tokyo to the rest of Japan and the world.

However, there are still those who Takuto Maruki’s influence doesn’t touch: a group of Persona users from years past, who are determined to find out what is causing the changes in their hometown of Inaba and the world beyond.

After 5 years, the Investigation Team reunites to solve one more mystery, attempt to return reality to its rightful state, and save their successors along the way with an unexpected ally by their side—Tohru Adachi.

He was about to start the next paragraph when he heard the clinking of the guard’s keys in front of his cell, and a man’s voice said, “Alright, Detective Adachi, time’s up. Let’s get you out of here and back on the job.”

Detective? Back on the job? Tohru narrowed his eyes at the guard and sat up slowly, instantly suspicious. “What do you mean, get me out of here? I’m in here for twenty years.”

The guard laughed as he swung open the gate, “Always the funny guy, aren’t you? I know you city types always take these inspections seriously, but you really must get into character, huh?”

Tohru looked him over and scoped out the room, waiting for the catch. Was this a test? A hidden camera shtick? “Character? What—is this some kind of practical joke?”

The oldest confirmed Persona user (Boafu) is 33 years and 9 months older than the youngest (Sumi).

Tohru Adachi is just two years the Persona 2: Innocent Sin cast's junior.

Katsuya Suou is turning 50 next year (2023).

The only confirmed S.E.E.S. members that are not yet in their 30s (this 2022) is Junpei, Ken, and maybe Koromaru [if he's still around which I hope so].

Sojiro Sakura might be the same generation as the Persona 2: Eternal Punishment cast.

Ryotaro Dojima (1970) is the same generation as the P2:EP cast and is three years younger than Boafu, and three years older than Katsuya.

Reiji Kido's child is probably the same age as Ken Amada and the Phantom Thieves.

Whether it be individual arcana assignments or links to the plot or just vibes - I know you've spoken of inidividual S-Link meanings but I don't think a big-picture comparison was ever done.

Star: Akihiko (P3) vs Teddie (P4) vs Hifumi (P5) FUCKING PLUS 3 TO TEDDIE FOR BEING A TREMENDOUS STAR. +1 to P3 for Akihiko. 0 to P5 bc I don't get the angle.

Moon: Shinjiro (P3) vs that one girl (P4) vs Mishima (P5) Fuck Mishimia. He's an amazing Moon. +2 to P5, zero to the others.

Sun: Akinari (P3) vs Yumi (P4) vs Yoshida (P5) -1 to P4 bc the Sun link sucks. +2 to P3 and P5 for AMAZING Sun links. Yoshida may be the most nuanced take on any NPC's Arcana.

Judgement: Nyx Squad (P3) vs Truth Dudes (P4) vs Sae (P5) P5 gets +1 bc at least they fucking tried, P3 and P4 were just tagged on and superfluous.

World/Universe: Reverie III vs Reverie IV vs Reverie V Reverie The Fourth loses HARD here bc the point of the World is coming to the end of a journey and being changed for it and he doesn't have enough personality to be changed. -1 to P4 Reverie the Third is a decent one who went through a lot and has enough personal stakes that I buy it. +1 to P3 I hate to say it but Reverie the Fifth gets +2. He feels the most complete of them all, so for the Arcana of Completion, or the Whole, it has to be him.

Okay I have no idea what that tallies up to, lemme see.

Persona 3: 10 points Persona 4: 4 points (OUCH) Persona 5: 19 FUCKING POINTS WOW THAT ISN'T EVEN CLOSE

My math might be wrong bc I suck at math (yay, dyscalculia) but that is a huge margin for error.

Honestly, makes sense. Like I said in the post-mortem, P5 succeeds in a lot of ways just for having actual adults available for the arcanas. P4 and P3 are so strongly limited to your classmates, there is only so many ways to make a high school student wacky and weird in a way congruent to their Arcana.

P5 has the worst Emperor in the series by far but it has the best Justice easily and possibly the best Sun and honestly a lot of the NPC SLinks are Just Really Good.

So yeah, P5 wins at something at last.

I admit it's a bit iffy, but I took it to a vote, and people wanted Miku in the tournament. So that opens up Project Diva/Project Sekai characters.

Playable Persona Poll ROUND 2

Sorry for the late update I was lazy and sleepy lol

Round 1 has come to a close! This was unexpected to say the least! First of all, every single Persona 2 party member available succeeded! Considering how those games are treated by fans and Atlus alike, I did not see this coming (I hope my previous layout didn't have anything to do with it...?). I mean, even Makoto Yuki, protagonist of Persona 3, lost to an oldsona character!

There were quite a few close calls! Eikichi, Koromaru, and Kotone all won with less than 51% of the vote! I even remember Kotone and her opponent Naoto being tied a few times when I checked. I also witnessed a few switches! If memory serves, Yosuke and Ann were far ahead of their opponents at some point during the poll, and yet neither moved on!

I also notice that every single Persona 1 party member available has been defeated. I can't say I'm surprised though... even among oldsona fans, I feel like I don't see them given much love.

Anyways, Round 2 is upon us! Ren has decided to listen to Morgana and will be getting some sleep this time, whereas a whole slew of new characters are about to be introduced! This should go live on April 9th!

Joker-Zorora, it fits perfectly

Ann-Fenikin. The fire fox that was owned by the Pokémon equivalent of an idol in Kalos and becomes a witch? It doesn’t get much better

Ryuji-I’m at a tie here. Either Rockruff(dayform), tyrogue, or torchic. All fit in different ways but I’m leaning towards rockruff

Yusuke-Froakie. I thought about smeargle but I want them to get strong and I feel like yusuke would want a muse

Makoto-riolu. The aura does look like frei attacks and it fits with the martial arts

Futaba- Rotom. Is there really any other options here?

Haru- Ralts. Elegant and summons black holes and is also psy?

Dojima barked out a laugh. “Don’t you even think about it, my wife made it for me!”

Wife? The title threw her for a moment but she tried to brush it off, thinking she must have misheard and he was talking about his daughter instead. She wasn’t paying enough attention anyway, she reasoned, her brain probably just auto-filled it since so many of the other detectives talked about their wives. Yet something about it still nagged at her as she continued her work, and she wished she could replay the moment so she could hear it again. I could’ve sworn he really did say “wife.”
