maybe he is not the autistic one (he is) and i am (i am) because like wow. i have not only a 140k word long fic about him being a retail worker, but a second collaborative fic (fancy way of saying lit roleplay) about him being a retail worker.

when it comes to mick being autistic i really do think he prefers being alone outdoors quietly sniping people because he cant take the stimulation of close quarters combat on the battle field. i actually do think is quite shaken up when people intrude on his sniping (he gets hyperfocused on it) but luckily uses that frustration to kill the intruder. not great if its like... a friendly scout walking in on him.

Dark spiraling into an episode is halted by a "Distraction" aka a flower.

Shadow being disturbed at Dark's response to eat it, just goofy shit.

Dark doing horrible to thinks he supposedly "Likes" is a trend with him. I discussed the "dark eating flowers" symbolism awhile back.

Dark just settles into being kinda forlorn again.

"I like Vio the most" pisses off Shadow. Obviously.

Dark's reasoning for liking vio is just "Everyone else does".

Which. Is just an implication he is feeling the vibes of everyone else and how they feel towards Vio. Thus. Dark likes Vio.

Lore about Dark Link's creation:

Vio's panicking was a caducous in a way to why Dark appeared in the form he did.

Dark Link wasn't entirely aware of his own presence at this time until Vio noticed him.

Dark continues to just point out Shadow's past wrongdoings lol.

I don't think many people noticed the shift in Dark's hair here to match Shadow's hair and not Vio's becoming a warmer shade of purple.

I ALSO don't think people noticed what Dark said here wasn't his own opinion. At least the 4th panel.

His immediate "hm?" as if he had no clue what the hell Shadow's reacting too made that more obvious.

Dark quickly gets mad at the notion he'd think something like that when that was smth he was just parroting from Shadow's internal thoughts.

BOO YAH!!!!!!!!!!!! i guess it shows how john buries his feelings. no time to feel good! need to DO SHIT! 2. when john is ectobiologizing. and exploring the lab. its so... desolate. so disconnected. so silent. Just for fun I ran to my desktop to aid me with Google translate, which isn't perfect. But given that I don't know Japanese myself....

Here's what I found; on my own, with only translate and my existing language skills.

This is wrong:

This is CLOSER, AND MORE INDICATED OF THE CORRECT SUBJECTS OF THE SENTANCE. :

While it isn't one to one, Japanese has a lot of feel and implication, from what I understand. There's a lot of context.

So I tried scanning the fan translations a few times just to see what it said on my own. I broke it down into parts:

AITSU: him, that guy (in this case, Izuku)

The "Nuguenee" part seems to mean "can't wipe it" or "to wipe away"

Kocchi- here

De nuguu - means something like 'take off with "

Eventually, I felt like it wasn't scanning off the screen well enough, and I actually WROTE THE KANJI in the translation of the panel out on paper, which was very interesting bc again, don't know or write Japanese.

But I scanned that:

(The word "if" is covered by the icon)

"IF YOU CANT WIPE IT OFF

I WILL WIPE IT HERE"

Shows that the verbiage used is "wipe," or "to wipe away," but it is SO MUCH CLOSER in spirit to "I'll step in for what he can't handle" and also the use of Aitsu indicated he is talking directly about Izuku.

I GET that the official translator's job is to try to capture the dialogue in a way that FLOWS for the new audience, since Japanese is a very differently constructed language than English.

They are supposed to find a way to translate certain things with keeping the mood and intent of the dialogue.

"OFA couldn't keep you in the ground, but we'll finish the job and then some"???

Where the hell did they get that???

I didn't dig any further back bc it might take a while but everyone has also pointed out that the original dialogue is a direct reference to the apology scene(I know it is in the fan translation but I think it is also being indicated that it is the same in Japanese as well? Pls fact check me of you desire)

So bc it was originally referring back to that scene, there is an added STING that comes with this official translation

And the ADDITIONAL BLOW that is katsuki once again being kind of...pigeon holed into the aggressive, more self-focused kid that he once was...a caricature of his former self, instead of his emotionally upgraded, self assured, "needing to help Izuku or he will perish" self.....instead of letting this moment be a crazy cool declaration about how HE is the one you fuck with when Izuku needs help.

Which like yeah, in itself is a little bit agrandizing, HOWEVER it is literally also serving as a vow or a completion of his vow earlier in the story that he will take on what he can't handle!

It's super important for Katsukis arc! It acted as not only a THREAT to anyone who give Izuku a run for his money and tests the limits of his OFA, but a VOW to Izuku that HE HAS HIS BACK.

He just YELLED ABOUT IT on a battlefield, while Izuku is probably still staring at him with heart eyes.

And ultimately, there is NO REASON THE ORIGNAL TRANSLATION, WHICH PLAYS OFF THE OFFICIAL TRANSLATION OF THE APOLOGY SCENE CANNOT BE USED OFFICIALLY.

It reads properly, and packs a HELL OF A PUNCH EMOTIONALLY. More so than essentially "I'm gonna put you in the ground bc Izuku CAN'T"

It seems like the fan translation kept the literal meaning but added the flavor to make it flow, such as "stepping in" "to handle" and calling Izuku a Nerd. But the official translation just tweaked it by too much to where it just reads differently and most importantly, doesn't carry that punch.

In conclusion, I did a little bit of independent research and decided that YEAH it doesn't make sense why they translated it so wildly different. Other than just wanting Bakugou to remain a frigging caricature, even in the Finale.

Tonight I'm thinking of the... "start" of 4halo "agreement" to maybe take things out on each other and also make out about it, you know, like all the string of daydreaming asks left before hehe. And I think the moment things would shift in this drabble of au strings would the dapper threat, because 4ever can bring himself to do a lot of things and hurt himself to be a lot of things, but he can't muster such deep cutting and guttural lie to one of his best friends in the island, even if they are furious at each other, even if Bad just "kidnapped" 4ever to sell him enchantments, even if the protector, evolving to savior at this point, complex makes him want to do such low blown in the name of help, he cant make the world's spill.

But he can't let Bad go so easily, can't have him just be apathetic and dismissive of him and continue down in a worst path.

So, how do you make something turn from not caring to caring? Well, in romance movies it is always a kiss, 4ever knows that, and bad knows that, so he can't be so *cliché*.

So grabbing the dirty dark hoodie, 4ever makes them butt heads against glass panels and bars, can feel the cool texture of horns in his forehead that gives courage to his heating heart, to pull the hoodie even more, hiding them both, because a shoot in the dark is still a mortifying embarrassing ordeal, and without letting time for Bad to shake of his confusion, he reaches out and take Bad's lips.

And bites them hard and firm, holding his head still and hearing his heartbeat raise at the noise he got out of the action, five seconds of holding in his teeth before he let's go, cliking roughly against the demons on teeth as he go higher, pressing a nose close sinking fangs in soft skin, forcing bad to breath through his mouth and perhaps make more sounds that could shoock 4ever core, but pride was stronger yet to hold still and not lose this.

Going higher, scraping teeth against forehead and horn is what break Bad stoicism, he growls a warning that 4ever takes clearly, letting go of the hoodie.

And pisses off Bad even more, who now in turn take the collar of the prez suit and don't hesitate to bite his throat and draw blood, 4ever holds Bad arms, feeling one being curled with the own mindness of the demon, and being much more open with his noises of pain and perhaps more against what the demon is doing to him, Bad considers leaving at that, game won, no mind games could be had over his head.

But 4ever spread a crown of kisses in his head, forehead horns hair and all, and now his hands shook, because of the intimacy of the act, and the realization that came with it of how lonely and starved he is.

And if they spend the night in the hole in the wall with one bed meant for a simple villager, well, it isn’t that the golems could even snitch on them anyway!

reasons why i hate zed comic

starting with the personalities, they did shen REAL dirty by making him impulsive and violent when hes the literal opposite of that as trying to be the Eye of Twilight (whose whole thing is suppressing emotions), and it just feels bad to see him like that for, what riot hsa excused as, ~something cooler to see for the audience as a comic media~

Like, I get that his appeal is actually that hes struggling with it, but in the comic it just looks like hes stupid, and not someone who`s been at it for years now bcs hes desperate to fill in his father's shoes bcs its what he thinks he HAS to do...

AND THEN ZED.... DEAR GOD ZED..... Zed used to be this counterpoint to tradionalism with a maquiavelic twist to it. Bcs the context of his desires was Noxus invading Ionia and the kinkou doing NOTHING TO HELP bcs itd go against their teachings... like zed decides that a search for power no matter what is justified if in the end it protects his interests, like his homeland. And thats what made the whole friends to enemies arc from shen and zed so cool bcs with how poorly Shen's dad handled the Jhin fiasco as well... They get eachother, Shen kinda agrees with zed maybe, but he cant commit to that idea at all, he looks for answers in tradionalism

Oh and they confirmed shen was a red head which was something i advocated for super hard for so long before the comic came out i felt like it was amde for me

Hey what are your thoughts on more recent appearances of Rip and the Time Masters in DC like in flashpoint beyond and Stargirl the lost children? My feelings are… complicated to say the least

Hiiii okay so I am a big Johns hater (not a secret i say this all the time LOL) SO i honestly did not like the writing or use of the time masters characters in those recent stories. I feel like it's extremely weird what they chose to do with Corky's character and im hoping its ignored/retconned as they move forward.

I also did not like the treatment of Jeff in the little snippits shown. For some reason (Johns writing) he wrote Corky to belittle Jeff's character and i noticed even in the artwork jeff was drawn standing away from Rip and Bonnie..ummm I did not like that.

One thing I will say I do think it was "okay" that we were shown Jeff taking Rips side vs Bonnie taking Corkys side on whos fault...whatever time shit was happening was...... but also.. Corky is a literal child again (where he was like..18 or at least 17 in TM 90s) and I dont think theres any canon ground to stand on of Jeff actually disliking corky either way (even Rip didnt dislike corky in the og 60s comics it was just a thing in the 90s to add to the story of Rip not trusting people and being a dickhead bc paranoia was taking over his whole life literally). I just think it was probably a dull way to show that Jeff knew Rip first, and Bonnie, of course was raising Corky. But theres probably better ways to show that.

I do think Bonnie standing against Rip or calling Rip out on shit while still being a Time Master is cool, wish Johns could write that interestingly outside of her throwing a few statements out like "of course its rips fault it always is" or whatever. But of course we didnt get that bc they were too busy doing whatever the fuck with Corky in stargirl.

Also, i hate that they're back in those ugly ass green and red onesies it makes me so MAD. Why does bonnie have a cowboy hat? Why is corkys hat an actual living raccoon??Why cant people save the day in t shirt and jeans. Sigh!

Glad they're back, though. Rip is so pointless to me when his history and team goes ignored as the existence of them adds so much to his character. Now we just need someone who can handle that to take the wheel. Someone who instead of treating the other Time Masters like bg characters will treat them like the main characters of that team because guess what? They are. Rip is not the only person who is important or interesting.

Sorry usually i would add panels or exact quotes but i dont wanna go look at those comics again 😔👍 also sorry if this does not make sense.

In the future, since Johns is leaving dc, i would like to see actual interactions with the Time Masters and Booster and such. Would be neat to see how they fit into the canon now together. I did like the little line in the christmas special where its shown when Booster sees Rip that he knows there must be some Time Master stuff going on. I just really need to see the other members of the team be able to do things too. I also want to see where Rips interactions with the Linear Men fall into this as well bc they have teased them a few times too (we saw old man rip in those umm generations comics a few yrs ago).

I ALSO wonder what this means for the canon of Booster being considered a "time master" because now thatd be like adding your dad to your friend groupchat like sorry guys hes gotta hang out with us.

shizaya fights are cool

forever thinking about how fun shizuo and izaya's chase scenes are because they're always based on the environment <333 like fighting in a giant empty arena has always been meh to me i LOVE when fights incorporate the setting like the train/construction zone fights in shang-chi and any of gray's fights from weak hero and stuff like that

and the nature of shizaya's fights is literally them using every object in ikebukuro to try to kill each other with (including trucks) so of course there's a TON of environment interaction and even if it's not practical at all (shizuo probably could have killed izaya a million times over if he just punched him instead of...pressing his forehead against his???? or throwing the truck at him instead of backwards????) it's SO fun to watch

if i ever learn to animate properly id really wanna make another one of their chase scenes because explosions and fire laser beams are cool but vaulting off of sign posts stuck in the sides of buildings is even cooler

OR write about it in fanfiction, tbh shizaya fics skip over the fights too much or just have them running and cut to them being exhausted like MAN show your work give me the good shit or ill write it myself (that sounds like SO much more fun compared to writing 'he slashed the other's clothes with his sword, missing by a hare's breadth and scowling as the other rushed forward to compensate for his wavering balance" or something. maybe i tried too hard on that one but IDK I DONT LIKE WRITING FIGHT SCENES

they're generally really hard to not get repetitive for me but there'd be so much less repetition in a shizaya fight becase you're always moving and you can always throw new stuff into the equation so it's not just the same old movements over and over. and you can change locations too like what if they're fighting in an aquarium?? fucking uh oh dude

or like. them "trading weapons" would be fun, where shizuo starts throwing the knives he's acquired from izaya over the years/the ones he catches in his teeth and izaya like. im not sure what he would do but maybe shizuo launches a bunch of things at some ceiling panelling and they get stuck in it and izaya cuts them down and all the stuff falls on shizuo like stalectites and he has to run to get out from under it. that kind of stuff

i cant focus on anything else rn because i just watched this for like the seventh time this week and just hhHHHHH (it's mirrored but apparently it's from an ova so you can probably watch the whole unmirrored episode somewhere)

i love how ovas are usually for fanservice stuff and durarara fans' fanservice is full shizaya fight. they knew what we wanted and by god they delivered

i love mob psycho, followed it since before the anime had even started. i remember debating w people whether dimple was being controlled by the broccoli back in what, 2017? it has had a direct positive effect on my mental health. i mean the last arc being all about self-acceptance..... man. and i love comics generally and want to make more. this is the biggest comic ive made so far so im real proud of it as like a tribute especially considering i tried to use ones busted inking style with all the wobbly ass fixed width brushes

and also as like trying to honor the specific characters. tsubomi is cool bc in so few panels/words you get that she can be both stridently herself without caring what anyone else thinks and also deeply unhappy because she has to perform so much to maintain her image. shes just complicated and weird and i thought that was a place i could tell a story from. is mob ooc in this comic? probably a little lmao but only a little! i was fucking fascinated by th question how did they go from Having a Bad Time in a Park to talking on the phone regularly? and this is my take!! im so glad i got to make mob have to call her home phone *again* before he can get her mobile. really i wanted tsubomi to be able to see that despite everything, through all the hours and social pressures and gaps in understanding, you won't always be alone.

anyway. this is too many words for a comic you could read in 2 minutes. i cant say much else because thats what the comic is for. i cant say enough how fucking cool it is that hundreds of people have read my comics and liked them, i cherish all the tags. its a wonderful feeling. i hope you enjoyed reading! peace.

- wormy the worm is like this campaign's goobleck (<< context: goobleck was a temporary player character in riptide when gillion went missing and when goobleck stopped . being needed . i guess. he split into like a million pieces and has tiny versions of himself across the entire multiverse goobleck is canon in every campaign. in riptide he lives in the floorboards of the ship and occasionally says things. i only explain this bc im pretty sure they make a goobleck joke in pd at one point but i cant remember when)

- at the end of the episode grizzly said "it was really hard not to say 'vyncent you better come back soon before william falls in love with me'"

- some cool powers the toy guy had that bizly didnt get to show off: a barrel of monkeys that would hinder, immobilize or paralyze; wind up robot toy with a DC 20 WILL CHECK because it makes this loud screeching sound; and a couple more that he didnt say because theyre cool and he might use them later :]

- bizly likes to sit on his roof when he writes. this is SO REAL of him. also when he writes the beginning of an episode he actually draws out a little comic book format and writes in the panels whats happening in each of them. i think thats such a cool process

- they rolled for stats but ended up scrapping those numbers because charlie rolled SO BAD (unsurprising) and it made bizly nervous bc "if you die in the dnd world. you die. none of the bs mutants and masterminds death rules we are playing dnd full tilt william wisp WILL BE DEAD FOR REAL"

you know what i'm SO glad charlie was like "nope no we cant let him go by himself" because LITERALLY as soon as she said that line i also was like oh FUCK no they can NOT let him go alone with this strange lady through the hell portal. so glad they didn't split the party man.

I LOVE WORMY.. he is my favorite too.. also delighted by this goobleck lore?? also dakota third wheelisms 2 their bullshit will never not be funny 2 me. god. he's so real its so delightful.

i loved the end of the chapter and the build-up towards the panel’s reveal too, witht he whole “oof i wanted all might to sign my card” and “man that kid of ours doesn’t like rain” and it starts raining like yayy i love that sorta stuff

anyway with that aside, this was a completely unnecessary “plot twist”

shouto may be my favourite, but I like bakugou’s character, he truly has a wonderful character arc and is definitely the most dynamic of the origin trio. ofc, i don’t want him to be dead, but i wouldn’t be opposed to it either

the issue is YOU CANT TAKE ONE OF YOUR BEST CHARACTERS AND KILL HIM OFF SO LAMELY

while the death itself was pretty sick, the reasoning behind it and it’s (current) effect on the story is just absymal

storywise, this pretty much plays like,

uh, spoilers for jojo’s part 2

this pretty much plays like caesar’s death, and if you didn’t already know, caesar is one of my favourite characters in the series (i finally understood all the caesar salad jokes my brother made ಠ_ಠ)

anyway it’s unexpected, adds shock value, and it’s very emotional

but what does it add to the story and fight? nothing! nada! it pretty much just takes a strong character out to showcase how strong our mc is. however, the difference is that storywise caesar doesnt rlly add anything to the major plot rip, but on the other hand-

bakugou is literally one of our foils and the main rival. he’s not like sir nighteye or stars and stripes who sorta appear and then disappear (altho sir nighteye was infinitely more useful to the story and a better character than star, but that’s irrelevant rn)

well, there’s been a lotta weird choices in this ‘final battle arc,’ so let’s start with deku not even being here. with all their careful planning, it only makes sense for smthing to go wrong. it’s like one of the rules of storywriting: everything that can go wrong, will go wrong, or at the very least everything should not go completely according to plan or you won’t have any tension or interest

that being said, there's rlly no narrative tension at all to things ‘going wrong’ with deku ending up in the wrong area. his presence literally does nothing for uraraka, toga and the rest, and he literally skedaddles right away. that’s one wasted opportunity for, idk smthing. def NOT a monologue tho, thank god Tsuyu cut that off it would’ve been such a waste of time, especially during battle 

but okay, i understand the real tension comes from his absence where bakugou, the big 3 and aizawa are, but when we watch their battle and see just how badly they’re doing, it makes deku’s presence who we’re waiting on (for way too long, might I add) feel like it a deus ex machina of sorts, rather than the final key to their plan

it rlly just feels like wowowow shiggy too stronk we need op deku to save the day like bruh

on that vein, the reasoning behind bakugou’s death is straight up whack. ig it’s not super out there that bakugou would die, he’s all battered up after all, but here’s what it felt like we were building up for:

when deku finna arrives, bakugou and deku would hafta work together, deku with his whatever op power he's gonna one-shot shiggy with (maybe talk-no jutsu XD, idk), and bakugou with his understanding and quick pick-up of how shiggy thinks, fights and moves. together they would not only be able to anticipate shiggy's moves, but also have the firepower to carry through

but bakugou dying straight up nopes that, like what were you even building towards with bakugou predicting shiggy’s moves then???

Starting with that, one of the potential reasons for bakugou dying is that he feels the urge to help, because a hero doesnt stop fighting until they die, he must keep fighting, he needs to win

ok and? mans is one of the weakest fighters there + he’s not even in peak condition, he’s literally all beaten up. yes, afo is intimidated by him, but that’s because he’s literally kamikaze-ing this fight, when there is no reason for him to do so. his continued fighting is acc a burden on the others, since we can see they need to go out of their way to protect him (not that they succeed rip)

with all that said, i do understand it’s not in bakugou’s character to just sit back while he can ‘still fight,’ it just feels so immature and unstrategic of him, especially when he seems to have worked out shiggy’s fighting patterns which he could then communicate to the others, namely deku when he arrives. but, ig I hafta remember that bakugou is literally a kid and they are in the heat of battle, so I will put this argument aside for now

A counter argument is, he may have wanted to test out his theories on how shiggy fights, by acc fighting him. brilliant! he was clearly right! he also has absolutely no reason to do so, when earlier he was clearly observing through watching shiggy fight the others.

he coulda left it at that because a) pros like best jeanist and miruko who can still actively fight are there, b) the BIG THREE of ua are there, you cannot say that bakugou is on par with the big 3, that's just unrealistic. even if they cant handle it, what's he supposed to do? 

with regards to the big three tho, it’s obvious they’ve been shoved aside and are just sorta there. despite all the hype for tamaki’s big ko move, it ends up falling flat

Well, in the end bakugou is bakugou, he will join the fray regardless, so let me just BRING UP THAT LAMEASS FINAL LINE

like in a certain context, this would be perfect. yes, this is exactly what deku has been doing for most of his battles up until now. but deku’s not even here

if bakugou and deku had been fighting together, and then bakugou got hit since he's injured and not at his best and then died? that would made a lot more sense, and had more of a narrative, but also emotional impact

yes, i admit it, i was not sad at all by bakugou’s death. shocked? yes. but sad or emotional? not rlly.

if bakugou had died while he was fighting together with deku, not only would it be a blow because deku's intelligence source abt shiggy fight patterns is out, thus tipping the supposed fight in shiggy's favour, but we also acc get that emotional tension from deku reacting to his death

acc, this is pretty much what happened when bakugou got stabbed like everywhere during the war arc while protecting midoriya. now that, i felt smthing. back there, it was done quite well and effectively, even tho bakugou didnt die. it affected the fight because deku went sicko mode (as most shounen protags tend to do), and it was in-line with bakugou's character arc

this death was too rushed! does it feel like parallels, like bakugou is experiencing what deku felt as is spoonfed to use by the top three text panels? 

no, not really. it feels like  we hafta show just how powerful deku has gotten by having his 'rival' literally kill himself trying to catch up to him. this death could’ve acc played out really nicely, and this line could’ve been really solid because ‘catching up’ has always been one of the themes between bakugou and midoriya. 

im just upset they did his death so half-heartedly, it's so obvsly more of a shock-value thing

phew, ok, had to get that off my chest. after that entire rant, i’d like to mention that bakugou might not be perma dead lmao

i’ve seen some ppl arent believing in the death until the whole fight is over, since bakugou is literally THE most popular character according to polls. i’ve seen others mention that gran torino also had an emotional ‘death,’ but he didn’t acc die

i’d like to point out that upon rereading, they never acc say mans died, just screamed abt his heart which got desecrated here:

we only saw the image of bloody bakugou, but the last time we were only told and not shown smthing was when they were looking for the UA traitor and the chapter ended off with hagakure, who we all know is NOT the traitor

I’d acc be cheesed if after all those dramatics mans comes back to life without at the very least permanent consequences, but yea, there’s also a lot of references to the vestiges. afo relates bakugou to the second user,

so we can also mayyyybe assume the second user might have an ability that can heal/help bakugou? in any case, we know the second user and bakugou are very similar, which i think most people suspected anyway

but also just all his interactions with the vestiges. we can see here that right before shiggy does that ‘final blow,’ bakugou’s eyes are shaped like stars

plus all the star spars around him, so he might be connecting to the vestige world or maybe their powers in some way?? because right after that we see him talking to vestige all might in his head

maybe this is a sign he’s somehow connected to the vestige world through a panicked afo who did smthing idk, but regardless I suspect this isnt the end of bakugou

or i just overcomplicated things! who knows, who knows, gotta wait for the next chapterヾ(⌐■_■)ノ♪

It just occurred to me while I was doing my driving lessons. Smartass' daughter learning how to drive.

The other weasels are probably scared of Skartass teachers ngl her himself (they're used to his crazy driving, but they don't need another one!) So they try to offer to teach her too... except they probably wind up getting in the way instead (Wheezy's smoke, Stupid probably has no clue what he's doing, etc). Your thoughts?

OH YEAH! How is driving going?? That's so cool that you're learning to drive- I don't have any intentions to, because I like public transport, but I think the skill is so so cool.
