The horn sounds through the TV, signaling the end of the game. The Ducks lost to the Devils at the Prudential Center 4-2, and it was Jamie’s first goal back after missing nearly 30 games. He probably isn’t feeling the best right now.

Yet she knows exactly what would make him feel better. She's sure he will appreciate his Christmas gift a little bit early. She's been excited to give it to him since she got it right after he left for the road trip that has kept him away for a week.

Now might be the perfect time since he might need to relax a little bit. She knows her boyfriend so she knows exactly how to help him relax after a rough roadie. She even tells him that she'll wait up for him to get home so she can surprise him.

Her plan doesn't change from Jamie's texts. All it does is tell her that he really isn't in a good mood after the road trip. She can take a four hour nap and be fine by the time he gets home. She needs to be wide awake for when she gives him his gift.

The gift also needs a little prep so she'll sleep until three, drink a cup of coffee to wake her up, then get ready to give Jamie his gift.

She's pretty sure his mood will change real quick, especially since he's been gone for a week. They both are a little desperate at this point.

An alarm is set for three in the morning to give her an hour to do what she needs to do. She only needs an hour to prepare the gift. A cup of coffee, a shower, a shave, hair, makeup, and a small snack isn't going to take more than an hour.

For her nap, she wears one of Jamie's Ducks hoodies because they're insanely comfortable. She sends Jamie a text that says goodnight and for him to have a safe flight.

(Y/N) is shaking with excitement as she lies down in their shared bed for her four hour nap. The look on Jamie's face when he sees what he's getting for Christmas is the only thing that causes her to fall asleep.

The sooner she falls asleep, the sooner the alarm will go off and the sooner Jamie will be home.

She dreams of his reaction.

A screaming alarm wakes her from her light sleep. It's still completely dark outside and there's a dim light coming from her phone while the alarm goes off. She turns it off and sits up with a stretch.

(Y/N) feels very refreshed though, and she definitely needed the little nap if she is to make it through the night. She allows herself a few more minutes before she goes and makes a cup of coffee.

While the coffee brews, she tracks Jamie's flight. They haven't landed early so she can still definitely pull off the surprise. The team plane is scheduled to land in a half hour. Then it's baggage claim and a fifteen to twenty minute drive to their apartment in Anaheim.

After coffee and a few pieces of toast with strawberries and Nutella, (Y/N) takes a shower. It's a full shower. She shampoos, conditions, shaves all necessary areas, washes her body, and exfoliates her face.

All while Taylor Swift is playing from the Bluetooth speaker on the sink counter.

(Y/N) loves listening to Miss Swift while she showers. Sometimes she listens to it while showering with Jamie, and he gets very into it. That's Trevor's doing though. Trevor is a bigger Swiftie than she is. Sometimes.

It's quarter to four when (Y/N) gets out of the shower. She checks to see where Jamie is and finds he's still at the airport. His location says he's outside though so he's probably headed to his car. She needs to hurry up if she's going to pull this surprise off.

She wraps herself in a towel and secures it under her arms so she can do her hair and light makeup. She blow dries it until it's pretty much straight then runs the straightener through it a couple of times to make sure there is no wave or curl to her hair.

She puts foundation under her eyes to hide the circles that have formed and all over her face to hide any blemishes. She puts on red lipstick and does a natural smokey eye look.

When she looks at Jamie's location, he's on his way home. There are about ten minutes until he's going to be walking through the door and she still has to go get the actual gift out of the closet. She curses to herself and makes her way back into their bedroom after disconnecting her phone from the speaker and turning off the light.

Inside a box in a closet is the gift. It's a red lingerie set that she tried on once when she was with Jamie. He said he really liked it so when he left for the trip, she went back to the store and bought it.

The sleepwear lingerie is made of lace and mesh. The cups of the nightgown part of the set is made of lace and is practically see through. Below the cups is completely see through. A matching mesh G-string will be worn underneath the sleepwear.

(Y/N) looks in the full length mirror against the wall and finds a hot, confident version of herself. Usually she doesn't dress like this, but it's Christmas so she figured it could be Jamie's gift since he liked seeing this set on her.

Somewhere in the apartment, a door softly opens and shuts with a nearly silent click. She makes a beeline for the bed and turns on the lamp beside the bed so Jamie gets a very good look at her when he opens the bedroom door.

There is a sigh and footsteps that are getting closer and louder. She tries to lay on the bed in a way that Jamie will get a good view of her as soon as the door opens. She has just decided on a position when the door slowly begins to open.

Jamie sticks his head into the room and looks right at the bed. His eyes immediately widen and the door swings completely open. His jaw has dropped to the floor and he nearly drops his bags on the ground.

"I- what-," he stammers. She smiles as he tries to find the words. "I don't understand what's going on here. (Y/N), I thought I said not to-"

"Wait up for you?" she finishes. "I didn't. I woke up at three so I could get ready to surprise my boyfriend since he hasn't been home in a week." She allows her eyes to travel up and down Jamie's body. He's tense but it's hard to miss how tight his pants have gotten at his crotch area. "Maybe put him in a better mood because he seemed very cranky after the game."

He shifts his weight between his legs before he drops his luggage by the door. "I am," he tells her. "I mean, I was. I don't think I am now." His eyes travel over her body. "Holy shit, baby."

She slowly gets up off the bed, making sure to show off every part of the set. Jamie's cheeks get red as he watches her walk up to him. She smiles when she is standing in front of him. You said you liked this on me so I went and got it to wear for you on Christmas but then you had a rough road trip. Surprise."

Jamie's quiet, but she can see that he's trying to hold back. His hands are shaking, itching to touch her. "I don't know what to say," he tells her. "Fuck, (Y/N)."

"How about you don't say anything?" she suggests. Her fingers grasp at the collar of Jamie's game day suit jacket. Slowly, she pushes it off of him and he shivers despite wearing long sleeves under the jacket. "How about I help you relax? Let you enjoy seeing me in this while I suck you off. Promise you won't rip it?" He immediately begins to nod.

Her knees are definitely grateful. "I'll be waiting on my knees like this for you."

Mitsuya himself makes you a lot of clothes, you’d get cool clothes only available for you to wear! When you told him that you knit he probably got really excited that you two kinda have something in common!

You decided to make him a scarf since your relationship has gotten tighter over the weeks, you really put your heart and soul into the whole project, from planning it to picking out the colors to figuring out how long it should be. It may have taken you a little while to make but it was so worth it! You just hoped Mitsuya would love it as much as you do.

You decided to put it in a little gift box and buy a fancy bow to put on top, it really just adds a bit of spice to the whole thing!

You stopped by Mitsuya's house after school to bring him your little gift. Your kinda nervous to see if he’ll like it or not. but honestly he will love it When you put the gift in his hands he looked at you and smiled, his smile is so bright and warm!!

“What’s this?” He asks in his soft voice. omg his soft voice is so<33

“A gift for you!” You say excited and eager for him to open it.

Mitsuya carefully lifts open the top of the box and immediately smiles when he sees the scarf inside, you can tell he really likes it!

“Wow y/n this is so pretty, your actually amazing you know that?” When he said that you can feel little butterfly’s flutter around your stomach. he’s so sweet

“I was worried you weren’t going to like it haha” When you told him that his smile kinda faded a bit :(

“Why would you think that? Of course I’d love it, it’s coming from the most amazing person in the world, my one true love.” Your heart was about to melt… literally. Mitsuya wrapped his arms around you pulling you into a hug.

“Thank you for the scarf.” He whispered into your ear, you were blushing just a little bit and super happy that he liked it. Maybe you should make him more things in the future..

You saw on tiktok that someone made a scarf for this s/o, you wanted to do the same thing for Chifuyu.. you knew how to knit a little bit so it was time to do some research on how to get better at it. After a few practice tries you were ready to start on your big project! A scarf for Chifuyu, especially with winter coming up he’s gonna need one! You decided to put little cats that looked like peke j into the scarf, he’ll definitely love that. peke j is so cute too ngl

You took one final look at the scarf, it have a few flaws here and there but you were still new to knitting and not everything’s perfect, you just hoped Chifuyu would like it enough to wear it..

You and Chifuyu had a date tonight so you decided to give it to him then as a surprise gift! You found a nice gift bag to put it in with some fancy paper to add some pop to the whole idea.

Once your date was almost over you pulled out your gift for Chifuyu…

“Oh no you didn’t have to get me a gift y/n!”

“I want you to have it, it’s personalized for you silly!” His face looks confusing when you said that, ‘personalized for him??’

When he took out the fancy paper he saw the scarf sitting alone at the bottom, he gently pulled it out and a joyful smile appeared on his face.

“Woah this is so cool! Did you make this?” Chifuyu asks excitedly

“Mhm!” You responded too nervous to make any real conversation.

“Oh my gosh even peke j is on it, your the best y/n!!” Chifuyu made sure to give you plenty of tiny kisses all over your face while walking you home, just the thought that you made something for him warms his heart so much.!

ʚ Inui Seishu ɞ

Inui is definitely the kind of person who is almost always cold or shivering with goosebumps all over, it was your grand idea to knit him a cute and casual scarf that maybe could help him out with that. You didn’t really know what kind of theme Inui would like since he doesn’t share much of his small interests like favorite animals/colors :(

So you decided to stick to basics and make a lovely beige scarf, something simple that maybe he’ll like it? You made sure to make it long enough that it drapes down his shoulder to help keep his body warm too! Secretly planning the perfect gift hoping that Inui would like it too.

You were so close to being finished on Inui's scarf working on the last bit in your room when you hear your window start to open…

“Hey y/n whatcha doing?” Inui pops into your room from the window… it’s like 1:00 in the morning-

“Inui! What are you doing here!?” You shout lightly trying to cover up your gift for him.

“Oh are you making something? I really just kind of missed you so I wanted to come by and hang out. If your busy I can go-”

“No it’s fine I was just working on a project..”

“What kind of project?” he asks while he inspects what your hiding with you hands.

“Umm it may be a gift.. for someone…”

“Huh? Oh I get it, oops my bad did I spoil jt for myself?” Inui laughs nervously with his hand behind his neck.

“No it’s okay, im almost finished with it so you can have it once im done!”

“Can I watch you finish it?” He asks curiously.

“Oh sure..” you reply nervously with a bit of light pink developing across your face.

You spend the rest of the night knitting on your ‘project’ while Inui watches behind you. Maybe your little gift was spoiled but by the look in his eyes as he watches you, you can tell he already loves the new addition soon to be in his wardrobe.

Lucifer, trying to uphold Diavolo’s wish for humans, devils, and angels to build a bridge of understanding amongst themselves, gives you the benefit of the doubt and waits about ten minutes before deciding to wake you up

He’s very Type A. Probably didn’t even wait the ten minutes. Wants you to succeed and he’s responsible for you so you WILL get up.

When talking to you and light knocking (for him) don’t work, that door’s coming open!

And there you lay, perfectly asleep. Hugging your pillow with your tiny (to them) human body tangled in the sheets. Hair a mess and a...bottom scantily clad and just...in view

Lucifer doesn’t handle nudity well and you just make it all worse. His face heats up and he doesn’t know what face to make or where to put his hands

Forgets to shut the door, doesn’t say anything else. Turns away while trying to process what he just saw. Or...or not process (because that’s not right).

He absolutely CANNOT leave in this state so does he just stay home sick or...?

It’s not until Satan and Mammon come slinking up to poke at him and see what’s taking so long that he realizes they’re going to see you.

Lucifer hisses at them, little black diamond pulsing in his forehead as his horns threaten to spiral up into view.

Accidentally shuts the door on his hand because he tried to close it so quick

You get woken up by the small spat between Mammon and Lucifer--”Her FIRST MAN needs to see what’s up!”, “You won’t BE a man if you don’t SHUT UP and GO TO SCHOOL this INSTANT!”--and poke your sleepy head out the door to see Beel with Asmo and Mammon in a bear hug, lumbering towards the door.

Lucifer looks absolutely exhausted. “Please get dressed. It’s time for school.”

Mammon

He may give Lucifer a hard time but Mammon secretly enjoys waking you up

You know, FIRST MAN privileges and all!

Also, if he has to go, you’re going.

Has VERY little patience and doesn’t like to be ignored after putting all of that effort into his entrance/witty announcements.

“Yo, get--” Mammon threw the door open after running out of clever stuff to say and is totally awestruck by the sight of your ass just out there to see

He’s not up on human terms but he knows that’s a money-maker!

Seriously, that ass could make some cash! (he’d go into debt for that ass)

His ears, cheeks, and throat get super hot. Like, somewhere in the back of his mind Mammon knows his face is hurting

“Get up already!” he can’t even yell right now. His voice cracked. He’s dying inside. He jangles the door handle obnoxiously and hits his head on it really hard because this is a weird way to start the morning and he needs to think of ANYTHING ELSE.

Asmo’s skipping towards him none too innocently, practically glowing at the chance to see some drama

You open your eyes just in time to see Asmo get fucking clotheslined and dragged away from your door, the two brothers rolling away together in a ball of flailing, squealing, and biting.

“What’s going on?”

“NOTHING! STAY IN YOUR ROOM! SHUT UP AND GET READY FOR SCHOOL! THE GREAT MAMMON HAS WAITED LONG ENOUGH!”

He never tells you what he saw, and he’s weirdly protective of you the rest of the day

Leviathan 

Wouldn’t normally dream of waking you up. Touching a normie? Eww! He doesn’t even like going to school, himself, but somehow the duty’s fallen to him, so he must.

Should he say something funny? Something sweet? How would Henry do it?

OTOMES DID NOT PREPARE HIM FOR THIS!! (side note: buy more ‘slice of life otomes. They will surely have ‘wake up’ scenes).

Gets very shy, doesn’t knock loud enough, and grumbles out things you never hear (”Good morning! Time to get up! HEL-LOO!”)

Finally opens the door because if he doesn’t, you’ll never come out

Boy’s heart skipped a beat and probably stopped a minute. He makes The Noise™ (”WooOOOooW!”)

You’ll never be Ruri-chan but HOT DAMN!

That’s basically a free X-rated scene without all the dialogue and gifts!

He’s not as hardcore of a Type A as Lucifer, but he’s very orderly and wants to be on time. Life is easier when you put in effort.

Because he doesn’t want to hear Lucifer ramble on about how you need to get up and eat and generally detests the idea of him stealing anymore of his air, Satan goes to wake you up

It’s a moment of brief peace that he really values

Gives short, strong knocks and brief calls (mostly, ‘hey’)

Starts to get a little angry that you’re not up. Some questions and curiosities come into play, taking the edge off, but really, how long is this going to take?

Opens your door to give a tiny lecture (read: complain) and that ass throws him into stunned silence

Satan’s the one to get a nosebleed.

Forgets he’s supporting himself on the door, loses his grip, and almost gives himself a black eye

Beet red and trying not to get blood everywhere, Satan’s telling you to get up or you’ll be late

Coming from Lucifer has its perks, as he can do The Look ™ and chase his siblings off

When you show signs of getting up and moving for the day, he goes off to tend to his nosebleed

You’re awake and ready to go--backpack and all--when you realize he has blood on his bow tie.

Satan won’t admit he likes to keep up his appearance like Lucifer, but he insists on changing it out to save himself the annoyance of answering questions all day

You help, and it takes all his willpower not to get another nosebleed as you fix his bow tie

You’re both late and he doesn’t care. You talk about books on the way.

Asmodeus

Asmo’s an early bird because his routine is extensive and the world needs his perfection.

Wants to wake you up earlier--way earlier--and everyone craps on that idea instantly.

He wanted to bond, get you all dressed up! Maybe find a way for you guys to match or just do you hair. He has lots of ideas and he’d love to play with it!

But he waits to the point of it being painful, to where it feels like a century (read: until Lucifer tells him you need to get up).

Asmodeus bounds down the hall like a giddy puppy, throwing your door open like he’s the sun itself come to wake you up.

His eyes land on you and this boy basically explodes. YOU’RE SO CUTE OH MY GOD! It’s like an arrow to the heart, honestly

That bed head? Your little feet? And that ass, oh my!

As much as he wants to, he doesn’t take any pictures with his D.D.D because 1) you’re not dating and 2) he doesn’t have your consent.

The type to tease you and (accidentally, maybe) make you so mad you get up by yourself because he does not shut up!

When your feet hit the floor he’s trying to be in three different places at once. He wants to brush your hair and help you into your uniform and ALL THE THINGS!

You may break his heart by locking him out long enough to get dressed, but he pulls the charm and puppy eyes to convince you to let him do your hair. Or your makeup. Or your nails (maybe all three).

You’re late (not because you didn’t try to leave on time) but Asmo gets the punishment tossed because “perfection cannot be punished, and we are flawless.”

Beelzebub

Despite his many midnight snacks, this boy gets up early because he wants to be the first at breakfast

Eats his food, packs a few snacks for school, and tries to sneak your portion for himself. Doesn’t mean to, but the siren call is too strong!

Besides, you’re sleeping. You can’t eat if you’re sleeping. He doesn’t want it to go to waste!

When the family clears the table, it’s time to wake you up.

This boy hopes you get up because if you get up early enough, you can stop by a restaurant and get something to eat! Or you can get a good spot at the cafeteria!

Very kind and patient with waking you up, but his stomach wins out with a loud grumble.

When the grumble doesn’t wake you up, he pokes his head in to check on you.

He has PLENTY of experience with this because of Belphie and--Beel realizes you’re partially naked and his face catches on fire.

For a minute, he��s not hungry. Just looks, then doesn’t realize he’s looking and gets more embarrassed.

This boy’s probably eaten ass at least once in his long life and he’d DEFINITELY eat yours. Or eat something off of yours. Cake would be good. Is that cake still in the fridge? Mmmm...cake...

Beel may have tried to take a bite out of you when you first arrived (because you smelled so good and humans are basically a delicacy among delicacies) but he would never without your consent, so he settles for one of his freshly-packed snacks

Wakes you up with eating/package sounds. Tries to feed you.

Is pretty content to wait for you to get ready, seeing as how he has food

You guys end up being late because he stopped to get you a coffee and that turned into coffee and lots of sweets

Belphegor

He doesn’t like being woken up so why the hell would he want to wake you up?!

It’s just wrong, him stealing another person’s sleep!

Wants to do it even less because Lucifer asked him to (the asshole)

Can’t even justify it by ‘suffering together’

Belphegor knocks on your door a few times and resists the urge to lean his head against it. This boy can sleep standing up!

He finally opens it because if he keeps closing his eyes, they’re going to stay closed

It takes him a few minutes to realize you have a nice ass because he’s hating on how asleep you are.

Like, that’s a nappin’ ass. He bets it’s comfortable and soft. Would probably make a good pillow...

Belphie likes to nap, so he knows how to gently wake a sleeping person

You don’t even open your eyes as you talk to him, your voice deep and slurred with sleep. It’s so damn cute it’s almost disgusting and Belphegor’s happy you’re not looking at his face.

Makes the dangerous mistake of sitting on your bed to annoy you (shake your shoulders, etc.) and starts to get sucked into the idea of another nap

Summary: What the house leaders act like with a little sister

༓Yuri Leclerc He is the casual, loner type of brother who is there for you when needed but both of you live a separate life from each other and Yuri doesn’t try to bring you into his or force himself into yours.

Yuri will teach and warn you when to be cautious of things but won’t save you from making a mistake because he had already told you so Yuri felt that he did his job as a brother. Yuri does the ‘tough love’ to you because he doesn’t live a good, safe life and he wants to make sure that you can survive on your own if something happens to him.

Both of you were probably closer as children but drafted a little apart due to the responsibility of life. Yuri is a very caring brother because whenever you don’t listen to a warning of his that turned out right, Yuri never comments on it. He was kinder and sweet as a child, Yuri would carry you on his back if you asked or if injured. But as adults, he doesn’t unless you get hurt more than Yuri might, although he will tease you during it.

If you have a crush, there won’t be a point in telling Yuri because he already knows about it and has already done research on the person. He’ll warn you if the person isn’t good, but it’s up to you to decide, this being one of those tough love moments as he’ll let you do whatever you want despite knowing it will be a big mistake. Yuri honestly wouldn’t do anything if your crush isn’t a bad person, otherwise, this is one of those situations he’ll step in, and if this person breaks your heart, they’ll end up with something broken as well.

༓Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd Dimitri is very much the overprotective brother. He doesn’t want to train you how to fight, let alone have you been in a battle because Dimitri doesn’t want to expose you to danger which wouldn’t stop that from happening. He strongly recommends you stay in Blue Lions so he can watch over you regardless of your opinions and feelings about it.

He wants to have a close relationship, nervous to lose you, so, therefore he asks for advice and sometimes from the worst people, Felix and Sylvain, which Ingrid said neither of them is good people to take advice from. Dimitri’s method of bonding is giving weird gifts and attempting to make jokes at the worst or awkwardly timed place.

Even though he doesn’t want you to experience more hardship and darkness, Dimitri can’t help but seek you out for comfort when the nightmares and voices become too strong because you can understand him, understand the way he feels and acts the way he does since both of you have suffered from the loss of your family’s death.

It never crossed Dimitri’s mind of you being romantically interested in someone unless he finds out you have a crush on someone because you are his baby sister, forever and always. It’s weird but he’ll try to accept it and help by listening to your problems, not that he is actually of help. Dimitri can’t help you with romance, however, Dimitri can physically snap someone in half with his bare hands and he isn’t afraid to show that if someone breaks your heart.

༓Edelgard von Hresvelg She is the type of sister who also acts like a stern mom and the behavior between the two of you almost gives off the vibe that Edelgard has raised you. She’ll scold you about wanting extra sweets while quietly giving you the one that was hers.

Regardless of your age, Edelgard won’t lie to you both because you deserve to know the truth and because the truth can protect you sometimes, not giving you false hope. But if it could be helped and by her choice, Edelgard would keep you away from hardship. However, she can’t so Edelgard will tell you what her goal is and perhaps even ask you for advice.

Edelgard will always take care of you before herself and doesn’t hide that, and if you guys argue over it, she’ll apologize for not taking care of herself but both of you know that she won’t stop doing it. Edelgard will take time to help you with studying, training, and anything that you need help with. She is both a big sister and second mom to you which might end up with someone teasing you guys about it, probably the person being Claude.

As explained, she'll help you with anything and if that involves romance, she’ll do what she can. Which might end up with her asking advice from Dorothea or Hubert in secret. Edelgard, or rather Hubert, did a background search on your crush because she wants to make sure you end up with someone nice. If your heart gets broken, Edelgard won’t hold back and warn them with a threat of what they need to watch out for.

༓Claude von Riegan Claude is the type of brother who will prank you mercilessly, regardless of yours or his age. He is going to bother you for fun, and whether you will get along or not, there will be no in-between. Growing up with him was a nightmare.

That being said, he does care and loves you, although he might not directly show it, it can be seen. Claude will be there if you need him and depending on the situation, Claude might even comfort you with hugs, but ruins any of it from becoming a cute moment because he will immediately playfully harass you again.

Depending on the trust between you two, Claude will tell you what’s happening and what he is up to or Claude will soo you off otherwise. As kids, both of you got in trouble for being adventurous which sometimes Claude took the blame for while other times you would, and it became a mutual silent agreement to get better at not being caught.

Do not go to Claude for romantic advice, it is never going to be serious and helpful and you will get teased horribly about it. But if Claude doesn’t know your crush, he’ll do a little info check and ‘accidentally’ bump into them, casually asking what they are up to, so Claude can see for his own eyes what they are like. If they happen to either be a bad person or break your heart, Claude will become the source of their night terrors

You stared at your clock, (e/c) eyes never leaving the device as you grip your phone on your hand. Your text already drafted and ready to be sent the moment those two hands strike the desired time you’ve been waiting.

11:58 pm.

'Just 2 more minutes' you thought glaring at your clock, cursing it for being slow. You never realized just how slow two minutes can be, the moving hands looking like they've frozen in place instead of actually doing its job. You swore your clock was mocking you, playing some sort of game, thinking that it might be funny.

You were currently seated on your bed, having just woken up from a nap, waiting for the time to reach 12. It was Goshiki's birthday the next day, and you wanted to be the very first one to greet him. Tendou had challenged you the other day that he'll be the very first to do it, being the great senpai that he is. But you replied with the utmost determination that it would be you, who will greet him a happy birthday first.

12:00 am.

"...and sent" you grinned, seeing the little check mark at the bottom. An indication that your message has been sent. Getting out of your bed, you walk downstairs and into the kitchen to finish baking the brownies you had started earlier. You were currently in your family home instead of in your dorm, you had to go home so you could bake him some sweets. Since the kitchen in your dorm didn't have the complete appliances and baking materials.

You could've just bought some at a bakery or sweet stores but you wanted this to be special. It's a gift for your boyfriend’s birthday after all.

Just as you step foot into the kitchen your phone let out a ding.

You leaned on the doorway, your fingers busy typing your reply.

Placing your phone on the table, you continued your work. Measuring the ingredients properly as well as making sure you were doing it all right. You wanted to make the fudgiest brownies that you can, your mom had given you a few tips earlier on how to make them properly, it's all up to you on how you'll execute them.

Once everything was done, you place them in the oven then set the timer and started cleaning up the mess you made.

"Tomu-kun! Good morning!" you wave at your boyfriend standing near the gates waiting for you, already dressed in his practice clothes. His tracks pants and jacket keeping him warm from the cold wind. He opened his arms wide for you, wrapping them around your much smaller form when you basically ran into them.

"A very good morning indeed" he grinned at you, as he leaned down to capture your lips into a kiss. Pulling you closer to his body, sharing his warmth with you when he felt you shiver.

Giggling, you pulled away from the kiss as you gave him the gift bag you were holding. "Here, this is for you"

"What's this?" he examined the light purple colored bag, his other hand supporting the bottom because of how heavy it was.

“Your gift of course” you beamed, motioning for him to open it.

Excited, he opened the gift, peeking through the gap at the upper part of the bag. Inside he saw four items, all neatly arrange for it to fit the limited space. The first one was two pairs of brand new kneepads, the pair he’s currently using were already old and tattering. He didn’t have time to buy a new one because he was so busy, and your gift was the one he just needed.

The second item was a hand-knitted scarf of his favorite color, he lost his other one a few months ago when he was doing his laundry and he doesn’t know who took it. He suspects it was his roommate, he’s definitely going to use this later. the temperature’s been rather low lately.

The third one was a stuffed bear, wearing what seems to be a mini version of his volleyball uniform. He had given you a similar one but wearing a little dress for your own birthday, now that he had his own stuffy, the two of you now have matching plushies.

Last but not the least was four boxes filled with the fudgy brownies you baked last night. Sweet treats or sweets in general, were a great boost for him, he loses so much of his stored up energy whenever he’s practicing that he ends up becoming really sluggish by the end of it.  

He gives the ribbon a light tug before his eyes caught sight of a card on top.

He felt his eyes start to water, a lump forming in his throat. The amount of happiness you have given him that morning was unmeasurable. No one had ever done something so special for him before, there was his family but they were different, this is you he was talking about. He’s very first girlfriend, the love of his life, and just looking at all the things you gave him once again just made him cry harder.

He’s so happy, he finds it hard to form the right words. So he chose to give you another hug instead, burying his face on your hair as he tries to keep down the sob leaving his lips.

“Oh Tsu” you rub your hand up and down his back in comfort, hugging him tighter.

“T-Thamk you, sho much. (Y/n)-chan” he said in between hiccups as a smile spread on your lips. Rocking him side to side, a quiet hum leaving your lips.

“Oh ho, look at this” you two broke apart from the hug, Goshiki furiously rubs his eyes on his sleeve as you take a peek from behind his tall figure to see his teammates walking over. “It’s the lovebirds!

“Happy birthday Tsutomu” they greeted, each one doing what they like best. Giving him head pats, ruffling his hair, a light punch on the shoulder, anything to show him their love and affection.

“Were you crying?” Shirabu raises an eyebrow at his puffy eyes, the redness still visible.

“N-no I didn’t” Goshiki replied, denying the second year’s words. But it was obvious that Shirabu didn’t believe him though, but chose to stay quiet.

“By the way Tsutomu, who greeted you first?” Tendou questioned as you and the redhead stared at him in expectation.

“(Y/n)-chan did” he smiled at the way you struck out your tongue at the middle blocker, a victorious ‘hah!” leaving your lips.

It was actually Ushijima who sent him the greeting first, but he wouldn’t tell you that.

“Oh! I need to go now” you adjusted your bag on your shoulder, checking your wristwatch. “I’ll see you later ‘Tomu-kun” giving him one last kiss, you wave them goodbye as you ran towards your dorm room. So you could leave the rest of your things before you go to class.

“Are you going to eat these by yourself?” he turned his head to look at his seniors to see them holding one of the boxes containing the brownies you gave him. He looks at his hands to notice that the bag he was holding earlier wasn’t there anymore.

When and how did they get it?

“It looks so delicious” Yamagata and Tendou were almost drooling at the sight of the dessert. Quickly, he snatches it away from them and hid it from their hungry gaze.

“No this is mine, (Y/n) baked it for me”

“Tsutomu, sharing is caring” he backs away from them shaking his head before he turned around and dash towards his own room. As the rest ran after him.

These brownies were made for him and he was going to eat it all until not a single crumb was left.

“Come back here!”

“No!”

“Look at you,” Hwanwoong chuckled and plucked a leaf from your hair. “How can I leave the council when I have a careless replacement?”

You rolled your eyes at the current student council president and fixed your hair. “Leaves fall and land wherever they want.”

“You have a temper too.“ He laughed and slung his arm over your shoulders.

Your heart lurched in your chest. You hate that it’s something he usually do but you always... always get so nervous and happy.

“Get your arm off me,” you mumbled but did not do anything to push his arms off.

He ignored you and continued walking toward the school gate. “I’m starting to have second thoughts about leaving the council to you,” he joked.

‘Then don’t leave,’ you wanted to say. But you know telling that would do nothing. Yeo Hwanwoong is a year ahead of you. In a few months, he would be graduating and attending college in some other university. On the other hand, you would stay here for another year, taking over his position since you’re currently the vice president and no other student is interested.

The truth is, the position and the workload don’t matter much to you. You’ve been in the student council for years and you’ve been able to maintain good grades. You also have some other friends in the council.

It’s just that a year without Hwanwoong feels so wrong. Not being able to see him at the bus stop every morning, meet him at the council room, and walk home with him make your heart hurt. At first, you thought it was simply because Hwanwoong is the longest friend you have. At some point, you realized that he’s more to you than a friend.

But you’ll never tell him that.

“I’ll walk you home,” Hwanwoong said.

It’s been weeks since Hwanwoong graduated. You did not attend his graduation but you congratulated him and even gave him some gift. You also met a few times after that to discuss some things about the council. Today was one of those few times.

“Okay.”

It wasn’t really necessary. The café you just came from is your usual meeting place. It is almost exactly in the middle of your house and his. You two were supposed to go to separate directions but as usual, Hwanwoong would walk you home.

The walk was full of casual conversations. He teased you every now and then. You glared at him as often as he laughed.

You were halfway home when he said, “I’ll be going to my university dorm tomorrow.“

You stopped walking and whipped your head toward him. “Tomorrow? Already?” You did not even try to conceal the shock from your voice.

His eyes lit with amusement just like how it always did when he’s about to tease you. “Yes.”

You stared at him and felt your heart dropped. You weren’t prepared for the fact that this day will be the last time you’ll see him in a long time. He chuckled and pulled your arm but you stood frozen.

“Tomorrow?” You asked again softly.

He opened his mouth to say something—to probably tease you, but the amusement in his eyes dimmed at something he saw on your face. “Yeah. Tomorrow morning.”

“Okay,” you whispered. You took a deep breath to ease your tightening chest.

Hwanwoong did not say anything but still held on to your arm. Your eyes suddenly watered, making you look away. Although you tried your best not to think about it, you couldn’t help but imagine how it would be like without him. You weren’t really his best friend nor was he yours but you were close. And he was special to you. You had worked together for a long time. Went home together for a long time.

And now, that long time is suddenly cut short.

“Okay,” you repeated but this time, your voice broke.

Without saying anything, Hwanwoong pulled you to him. His arm embraced you in your shoulders and his hand gently patted your back. Your tears fell but you kept your lips shut tightly, refusing any sob to come out.

You stayed like that for a moment.

Then, he suddenly said, “I think you misunderstood me.”

You froze in his embrace. Your tears immediately stopped from flowing. And a weird feeling that he’s about to say something bad came over you.

“What do you mean?” You asked slowly.

He cleared his throat and the bad feeling intensified. “I’m going to my dorm tomorrow to transfer some of my stuff but I won’t be staying there until the semester starts...”

You cheeks heated as you pushed him with all your might. Without looking at his face, you ran away. You wanted to cry again but for a different reason now.

“I embarrassed myself,” you sobbed as you turned around the corner, a few more blocks away from your home.

“Wait!” You heard Hwanwoong called from behind you.

You quickened your pace but he caught up with you. He grabbed your arm and pulled it to make you face him. Instinctively you covered your face with both of your hands.

“Don’t you dare tease me!” You warned, face still covered from embarrassment.

Your heard him sigh. He placed both his hands on your shoulders. “I’m sorry.”

You did not say anything.

“I should’ve been clearer,” he continued.

“You should’ve been!”

He chuckled and you immediately dropped your hands a few inches just to send him a glare. He grinned and slowly, his hands hovered over the side of your face. He met your eyes as if asking for some permission. When you did not say anything, his fingers gently brushed away some strands of hair that stuck to your face.

“Please don’t be too sad that I’ll leave,” he softly said. “Because I’ll come back. I’ll come home. And I’ll come see you each time...”

—Lastly, if he gets into some fight you’d march right up in the middle of them, defending your bby. The other person looked like they were about to burst out crying, it was really amusing to Akaashi, if things get a bit heated tho he would probably take you on his shoulders and walk away while you keep yelling at the poor person.
