Homecoming Daydream Part 2

Summary: With the power of Ferrari’s ghost, Enzo or whoever officiated me with a Charles Leclerc’s in Jesus’ form. I pronounce you, husband and wife.

Pairing: Toto Wolff x reader.

Genre: Romance, fluff and smut.

Author's note: This is a multiple-chapter Toto x Reader fanfic. Noted that English is not my mother tongue so there will be mistakes.

Part 1: Homecoming Daydream

Y/n hadn’t lied before. She wasn’t nervous about marrying Toto. Like at all.

At that moment, as she walked towards him, down the altar, she was overcome not by excitement but was overwhelmed with the sense of love. The sight of someone, and not just someone, he is, the man in her dream standing at the end of the aisle, patiently waiting for her. She felt like she must have been trapped in a dream, one that she silently prayed to never be woken up from. But as her tipped French nails poked into the palm of her hand, she realised that all these things were happening and they were indeed, 100% true. As she neared him, she could feel the nerves and butterflies disappear and be replaced by a warm feeling of peace and serenity. Like a homecoming. And she is indeed at home now and forevermore.

All she could do was focus on the heartbeat hammering away in her ears. Then, Toto’s warm hand wrapped around her own. Then, his face – his beautiful dark brown eyes so invitingly warm and intense, she felt caught in his gaze. Then, his gorgeous smile, told her just how happy he was. And slowly her heartbeat steadied, the deafening pulse quieted and she was gently grounded back into the moment with him. I am home, she thought.

And not a second too early, because as she caught Fred’s expectant gaze, she realized that they somehow must’ve gotten to the part where they would exchange their vows. Y/n cleared her throat. The words came so easily – because they were true.

“Toto. I must say this and I know it’s not a very romantic way to start a vow but I had a pretty much okay life before I met you.”

There was a low rumble of laughter in the crowd. Y/n smiled and took another deep breath before she continued.

“It’s not fantastic, just average like anyone else’s life out there can be, and I guess I was fine with it. With the thought of being a loner traveller in this lifetime. With the thought of never being the chosen one. Everything ate me up and made me believe it that way. Until I met you. I never expected to meet someone like you. I didn’t even think of someone like you to ever set foot in my life. Slowly, I get to know the beautiful person you are, inside and out. To be so lucky as to fall in love with you. I’ve found my new home, you – right here. And I couldn’t be more grateful to spend my life with you.”

She saw the moisture shimmering in his eyes and was sure that her own looked pretty similar. He smiled, before nodding at Fred and taking a deep breath.

“ Y/n, my life was pretty much like yours before I met you. Except for all the noise, the hustle lifestyle and the demands of everything in my life,... Too much that there were days I thought it was going to swallow me whole. That was until we came across. I didn’t know I could ever admire one’s eyes this much, and just hearing your laughter and being with you made me feel at home. You called me your home, Schatz. Well, you are mine, too. As you have given me your hands to hold, so I give you my life to hold from this day forward.”

Her heart beat steadily throughout his vows, but the tears that had been on the verge of slipping before now streamed freely down her face. There was nothing she could do about it. It was as though her love for this man poured out of her body because there was simply too much of it to be physically contained.

She was vaguely aware that Lewis stepped forward behind Toto and handed him something. Toto took the box and flipped it open, revealing two rings. Y/n gasped and swallowed an incredulous chuckle at the size of the diamond inside. Toto hadn’t proposed to her with an engagement ring, since he’d done it spontaneously one night, while they were still wrapped up in bed together. After, she’d told him not to get one, since she found a single wedding ring would more than suffice. Really, she should’ve expected that he would go above and beyond with it, knowing he would go feral in choosing her the perfect ring, with the biggest diamond, of course. He smirked at her reaction and picked the ring from the box, looking at Lewis expectantly. His friend chuckled.

“Okay, I feel kinda silly even asking after all of that, but here we go. Toto, do you Y/n to be your wife?”

“I do”, Toto answered, his voice even and earnest, despite his smile. Then he slid the ring in place and lifted her hand to his lips for a soft kiss.

“I love you” he whispered.

That steady pulse from before was replaced by a frantic gallop, her heart almost jumping out of her chest at the touch of his lips.

“And Y/n, do you take Grandpa Toto here to be your husband?”

There was another rumble of laughter from the audience, Toto however, acted as though he hadn’t even heard the quip, his eyes glued to her face, her lips. Waiting to hear her answer. As if he still couldn’t believe she’d agree. Silly old man.

“I do“, she said. Then she plucked the other ring from the box, a simple gold band, and took Toto’s hand.

“And I love you too,“ she whispered and slid the ring onto his finger.

They stood there and stared at each other, both smiling and silently crying, until Fred cleared his throat and even his voice sounded suspiciously tight with emotion.

“Well, then with the power of Ferrari’s ghost, Enzo or whoever officiated me with a Charles Leclerc’s in Jesus’ form. I pronounce you, husband and wife. You may kiss your wife now, Wolff.”

And then just only waiting for that moment, her husband did what he was said to do.

Everyone cheered, as Toto released Y/n just slightly, still holding her in his arms, as she grinned up at him. „Hey husband“, she whispered.

His heart felt like it had grown three sizes.

„Hey wife“, he answered, with a smile so wide it actually hurt.

The music turned up in the background and people jumped out of their chairs, charging towards them for hugs and kisses. Lewis was first since he stood right next to them. He clapped Toto on the back before twirling Y/n into one of his bear hugs, making her laugh as he lifted her off the ground.

“Welcome to the fam, Mrs. Wolff or you prefer it as Mrs. Mercedes. Thank you for saving us from the wrath of him smashing another pair of Bose’s headphones.”

“I’m more than happy too,” she answered with a wink towards Toto.

Y/n’s friends and family were another matter, alternately sobbing blended with screaming here and there (happy scream, of course) as they essentially pried her from his hands. She looked over her shoulder at him and gave a little shrug while rolling her eyes, before trying to calm everyone down. As dramatic as them all, she felt whole with them here today.

Half an hour later, most of the crying was done, and people had started mingling and dancing. And Y/n was finally back at his side, as he pulled her out onto the dancefloor for their first dance as wife and husband.

„I missed you“, she murmured, sighing happily as she leaned into him, slowly swaying from side to side.

He grinned.

„I missed you too, sweetheart. Almost broke that stupid rule and came to see you last night, but they almost sent a missing report so I pretty much couldn’t pull the trick of meeting at a secret place like Romeo and Juliet.“

“You want us to die. That’s not what I imagine a happily ever after ending is about, Toto. Did I just marry a crazy, old man?”

“You did not say that.” He said, completely serious.

“Is that so?”

“Just so you know, wifey. This crazy, old man here fully intended to fuck you tonight. you look so perfect in this dress. Makes me wanna fucking ruin you.”

She tilted her head as though she was weighing her options with a flushed face.

“Hmm. That’s the kind of crazy I can handle. And you also aged just fine, husband. Also, you've already ruined me. I can't go five minutes without thinking about your hands on me, our bodies intertwined.”

Toto cursed quietly, already feeling himself harden in his suit. Not an ideal situation, with everyone watching them spin around in slow circles on the dance floor.

“Oh, Schatz, you can’t say this in public without expecting me to get all hard up.”

Y/n hummed quietly and leaned closer, sliding her hand down his back and pressing her soft body against his torso.

“Rewards come to those whose patience, husband of mine. I promise you there will present for you to open tonight.”

After making the rounds, taking turns dancing with their friends and family, posing for photos and indulging in the food, Toto's patience was running thin. Although surrounded by family and beloved friends, Toto felt increasingly impatient. The wedding felt like an eternity and a huge distraction from the real reason they were all there: to witness Toto and his bride say "I do." He now started to wonder where his wife had gone since she disappeared 15 minutes ago.

“Have you guys seen my wife?” Toto asked Lewis, Sebastian and George.

“You really enjoy saying that, huh?“ George teased.

“I think she went upstairs to freshen up, maybe,” Lewis said.

You didn't actually think I'd leave you without a Christmas fic, did you?

This whole thing came into existence because I wanted to write a Christmas karaoke fic after listening to way too many Christmas songs, and I'm a sucker for Christmas fics.

So, here it is - my silly little Lestappen Christmas gift to you!

I know that most of the drivers know about fanfiction being out there but the thought of them discovering ships still freaks me out so much.

A lot of people will say don't write RPF then but there is a big difference between just writing it for fandom and locking it on ao3 OR actively pushing it towards the people it's inspired by. The latter can easily be avoided and not avoiding it is the sole thing that can make RPF problematic.

TWITTER IS TOO CLOSE.

This makes me so uncomfortable and angry at people who are not thinking about boundaries. Even if the author consents to their fanfiction being out there (but why would you?) you can't get the consent from the people it's about. If they discover it on ao3 then that means that they sought it out and that's okay but if they stumble upon it on twitter because it gets basically shoved into their faces? No.

It's not funny and if you're unlucky, they'll not only think it's weird, they might actually hate it and feel gross about people writing about them having kinky sex with y/n or their colleague.

In extreme cases, famous people discovering fanfiction about themselves altered how they behaved in public. In other extreme cases, they took legal actions, because they felt really ridiculed or uncomfortable.

Fanfiction is for fans. Leave it in strict fandom spaces. How often do people need to say that? You can't always avoid the drivers seeing it, but you can at least make sure that it's not jumping at them when they don't want it to jump at them, which will be the case for most if not all of them.

I don't want drivers to get linked to my tumblr without either my or their consent. It's overstepping a line.

there's a huge difference between Knowing About The Existence of Fanfics and being Actively Made Aware of Certain Fics. sure, they know about fanfics. sure, they know they're being shipped. but to have the shippy things/fanfics/fanart actively shown to you is a whole other thing.

'don't write RPF' is a very dumb thing to say. that is not the issue. the issue is that fandom is for the fans and Not for the people it's about. when i'll make the silly little 4433 discord server, that's for the shippers, the FANS. that is Not for max, lewis, or anyone who knows them personally. when we write fics, that's for the fans, Not for the guys in question!!

twitter is indeed too close. tumblr is The Perfect platform for it. i remember when the people from Watcher Entertainment announced they'd make a tumblr blog and sooo many fans were like Alarm Alarm Must Change My Main Blog So They'll Never Find Out!

i've heard charles is notoriously known for looking up his own name so for the love of god don't post shippy things with his name on twitter.

and also a huge fucking annoyance of mine is that the official accs (red bull, f1, mclaren, whatever) have started using shipnames. don't. that's not for you.

100% agreed w the difference between 'stumbling upon ao3' and 'getting a tweet sent to you with your name'. also a PSA to all RPF authors: if twitter accs ever ask if they can rec your fic on twitter, be flattered and say no. that is not the place for us to be.

(sure i wrote a fic about it but that's beside the point).

yeah so i wouldn't worry too much about the extreme cases. this isn't septiplier. the most important difference being: these drivers barely handle their own social media anyway. they're incredibly well managed. this doesn't mean we can do whatever, but it does mean that the chances of something bad happening are smaller i'd reckon.

recently made this metaphor which may be a bit tough to convey in words but: the drivers, the sport, the factual things are like a planet, and fandom is the moon. the moon is for us fans to gather and circle around the planet and occasionally visit and say hi. but to never ever get the drivers with us to the moon. they don't belong there. if one driver gets to the moon, the moon will get closer to the planet and before we know it, the moon is clashing with the planet and nothing's left of either of the two anymore.

drivers knowing about the existence of fanfics as a term is fine. drivers knowing about certain fics is not. drivers knowing about your tumblr is not. fandom for the fans. not for them. don't make those two world collide.

I just don't understand why people keep policing what a man of color says or doesn't say, especially when he didn't say anything offensive (unlike Max 99% of the time he opens his mouth), but make up excuse after excuse when their "great white hope" acts like an idiot...

Lewis complimented Charles and called him a sensible driver. That's literally all he did. He was probably relieved after the race, and still traumatized after last year's abuse spurred on by RB, the Verstappens and the Piquets. Of course he can't help but compare his battles with Charles to his battles with Max.

Max? After Silverstone he candidly admitted that he pushed Mick off track several times and the two of them would have crashed if Mick didn't give up the position (a dam p7!).

Literally no one was surprised by his declaration. Esteban and Lewis have always said that he's aggressive and dangerous and that they don't trust him on track.

Why do you think one of Max's nicknames is Crashstappen?

If Lewis had said what Max said about Mick, people would have slandered him to hell and back.

But Max gets a pass.

I am sorry for everyone who has to read all of this but I've had it. Like I am too old for this shit.

Firstly, can we please stick with the facts? Where have I said that Max is my "great white hope"? Can you maybe not start to immediately accuse everyone that says anything even remotely critical about Lewis of racism?

Where did I say what he said was offensive? All I said was that it was dumb.

Where have I been excusing the things that Max says? I am not even Max fan. I think you might've gotten confused there. And other people being weird about Max doesn't mean that I don't get to have opinions.

Lewis being a POC means he get's a lot of unwarranted shit and racist abuse. However, that doesn't mean that I don't get to say that he has said something dumb or imo unnecessary. It doesn't mean he doesn't play the press. And just to clarify before I am accused of it, I am not saying that he is playing the press wrt racism or the abuse he faces. Just that he knows how play with the narratives of other things, which he is allowed to do. But I am also allowed to say that I do not like it.

Lewis absolutely did not have to talk about "how different it was compared to what he experienced last year especially copse". This isn't Lewis first rodeo with the press. That man is acutely aware of everything he says and it was his choice to make the comparison to last year. I understand that the week up to Silverstone was pretty fucking shit for him and all of that shouldn't have happened but that doesn't make that comment less of a cheap shot.

Also, and I say this as a massive Charles fan, Charles is not a significantly more "sensible driver" than Verstappen. He isn't any less aggressive it's just a bit different. In fact Charles line through Copse was more aggressive than Verstappens. Actually, same race his move on Perez in the first lap was super aggressive. So the comparison Lewis is making here is just wrong.

Idk what races y'all where watching in which Charles isn't a super aggressive driver. Just because he is sweet off track doesn't mean he isn't a demon on it.

You know why Max said that, because that is allowed to a certain extent this year. And let me tell you: CHARLES DOES PRETTY MUCH THE EXACT SAME. He would've pushed Lewis off the track had Lewis not yielded in the same race the first time he got Lewis back.

Also have a look at this: Here Charles is saying that he took an extra wide line through copse last year with Lewis because he was scared he was also going to end up in the wall when Lewis sent it up the inside.

I love Estie-bestie but you can not ask him about Max. Those two have had a rocky relationship for a while. Also that man crashed Max out while being lapped so idk man. He isn't the right choice for this.

Max is an aggressive driver, nobody says otherwise. But also Max is open about being an aggressive driver and he doesn't pretend to be anything else. That is part of why he "get's to say" these thing without being slandered. Because it's the truth. Because that is what he did. And I personally prefer it when drivers are just honest and aren't trying to change the narrative to help them. Max does also do that sometimes and I don't like it but in this case he was just being honest and didn't take a dig at anyone.

Crashstappen is his nickname because some of you guys should still be in Kindergarden. And also because he came into F1 as a fucking child and children are stupid.

Like I have said above, why are you in my inbox accusing me of things that I didn't do. I didn't give Max a pass for any of these things.

And regardless of what Max has or hasn't said and done, what Lewis said to the press was imo dumb, disingenuous and unnecessary. Why bring up this saga again after it had finally died down.

Extra Question: How long have you been watching F1?

There was a point in time where Lewis was considered to be a really aggressive driver:

TLDR: He wasn't complimenting Charles because Charles as much as I love him is not a sensible driver and definitely wasn't a sensible driver after the SC restart. I mean the man had old hard tyres and half a front wing. Nor I am excusing everything Max does.

Back to Marina Bay we go!

Long time no see!

So it's been 2 weeks now and it hasn't really been that quiet, am I right!? First, we have the Monaco GP renewed until 2025 at least, which for me it's great news since I love it regardless of how boring it can be most of the time outside of Quali. And then we have Yuki being renewed too but in this case for another year at Alpha Tauri. Now we only need to see if Pierre stays and the bromance goes on or, on the contrary, we get robbed of the greatest love story after Sewis.

Aaaaand the most non-shocking news was Latifi's exit from Williams at the end of the 2022 season. Now that's gonna be fun. Who will be Albon's new partner in crime?

Also, now it seems we're getting 6 sprint races instead of 3 for 2023. Are you fucking kidding me. Not even asking anymore. Just, are you fucking kidding me.

Apart from that the greatest thing to have happened in the last 2 weeks is the fact that Estie Bestie invited Mick to his birthday party with his family and they went together to Disneyland Paris. How cool is that? And they say you can't have friends in Formula 1. Check them, those are friendship goals 🥰

Lastly, but very, very importantly, Red Bull and Aston Martin suspected of surpassing the cost cap. Aston Martin vibin' spending money and still flopping gives me life. But Red Bull? I truly hope Ferrari's right AND that the FIA do their fucking jobs for once. It's time, they owe it to all of us, especially one very specific someone.

Now onto the important stuff. MARINA BAY IS BACK! And so am I, now let's see what I've missed during my busy work days.

Alex is finally back after undergoing surgery to remove his appendix during the Monza weekend. Doctors having to turn off the race because he was getting stress is a funny thing, tho.

Estie Bestie and Mick getting asked about their time together on the break between race weeks was quite cute, honestly.

Other than "all" that, the guys mostly talked about the possibilities and challenges of this race, so nothing else worth commenting really.

I know I’m problem the 50th anon popping in to say this but I am soooo unsure about this news and how it will effect Charles and his standing within the team.

However, I can also realize that holy shit this is wild and am loving reading everyone’s reactions and takes on it.

I'm honestly not worried. 2025 is still a year away and a lot of things can happen before then.

Either way, Charles is the future, not Lewis, and I will believe Ferrari is aware of this until they give me a reason not to.

But, I'm not one to worry too much about the future, so this won't occupy my mind much until the 2025 season actually gets underway. Nobody knows anything about how this will work out until we actually see it unfold.

alright, so whatever i'm going to say here, is going to be primarily based on what i've seen in quali and the sprint, but also i do expect the general pattern of this season to continue. at least until monaco or silverstone or spa.

as the son of a part-time f1 elitist, i must say i'm praying to all gods, even those who don't exist, that alonso performs. as a fan of the sport in general, i can't write a prediction post and not say that. the guy is still legendary. we saw that today.

that said, taking the recent and not-so-recent past into account, my expectations are different. unfortunately what i want to happen and what i think will happen are alag alag:

it's a battle for third place, basically. and THAT battle i'd love alonso to win, of course. but he's been showing signs of exhaustion in the final third of the race, and i'm not very optimistic this time round either. top performer, but i think he'll lose pace in the ultimate moments.

q3 today was that one scene in finding nemo where all the seagulls say "MINE MINE MINE MINE" for the fish except the fish is P2. gave me hope. there is chaos. there is excitement. checo will finish P2 though.

stroll was doing so well in the beginning, he was like 0.2 off of fernando at one point, iirc. of course, this isn't a podium shout but im going to keep an eye on lance, he looks exciting. impressive drive from bottas, btw. and nico. i have a soft spot for hulky.

let's address the elephant in the room, yeah? what the fuck was that from ferrari. as a self-aware ferrari fan, i'll cut this off before it turns into a rant, but i was optimistic about our chances in the sprint format. ANYWAY (youre welcome)

alonso got a 10 second penalty for his incident with sainz. if you go watch what actually happened, it's SO clearly excessive from the stewards.

okay so FINALLY, i talked a whole lot about nando and my THOUGHTS on the gp but didn't actually answer your question lmao. sorry for nerding out DAMN that's a big paragraph.

i think if max wasn't a maniac, we'd hear a lot more talk about lando. who will WIN the chinese gp if not for max? i'm sorry to be boring but honestly, checo.

the guy is consistent, no doubt about that. but the reason i say checo is (apart from the OBVIOUS monster car) his mentality and the way the season's shaping up for him. he's obviously confident, but also his greatest rival for the driver's standings, his PARTNER, is max. when you have that kind of competition, you're automatically a better you.

feel sorry for lewis.

just getting my thoughts out putting under read more so i don't clog your dash with my rambling but feel free to read and share your thoughts if you want

ok it's nearing 1am and i'm a mentally unwell person who hyperfixates on stupid things like f1 and lets them affect her too much... ever since the news about horner broke out i've been saddened and disgusted by him and rbr. disappointed and apalled about how they're handled the situation. and now things are escalating fast (i'm aware this has likely been going on behind the scenes for a long time tho)

moreover i see so many ppl saying that they'll leave/stop watching if max retires and i understand that completely but it still makes me sad that in the future there will be less max fans in the community. especially when it's (still) so divided and i can't stand any max slander i need to block those ppl so will i find new ppl to follow? who knows... i'll be in my own bubble with tumbleweed ig

i'll follow max whatever he decides to do next. but i will keep watching f1 till the sport implodes lol. max didn't make me love f1 he just made me love it a thousand times more ofc he is my nro 1 and will probably always will be but there are other drivers whose careers interest me. i wanna see charles get that wdc and lando's first win and lewis in ferrari and oscar's progress and where fernando's career ends and alex driving a better car and all that young talent (bearman, antonelli etc) get their seats and hopefully one day a woman in f1 (again)

charles will probably be the one i'll root for. let's face it i have tifosi tendencies and my dad even randomly bought me a charles hat when i said i need a new cap (assigned tifosi by dad lol) tho i just dislike the fan culture around charles so much i can't see myself comfortable among the chirlies and if i write f1 fic it'll still be max centered. if there will be ppl reading those (i will be)

i hope i (and others who feel like this) am just getting ahead of myself and max will stay, be it in red bull or mercedes or anywhere. but i've just got this sinking feeling that he'll be gone sooner rather than later... but we'll get to see him conquer another category i'm sure of it!
